LD50 — Delay the inevitable

Kitastrophe by Jezzamon 2022-04-10T00:38:02Z

Ooo, a multiplayer game! I really like this, and the idea combined with the multiplayer effort is really unique and fun! I may have found a duplication glitch by spamming throw while holding the cat biscuit. Or maybe it's an odd server quirk, I'm not sure. Either way, the game is super fun!

Flameline by HolyBlackCat 2022-04-08T01:11:21Z

Really innovative, and fun to play! Love the art style, especially with the particle effects. The only issue was trying to figure out where to go, was a little difficult.

Picnic Calamity by XenosNS 2022-04-06T23:55:34Z

Fun game! I was trying to do a "no cookie" run, just for the fun of it. When it ramped up in ants as people mentioned, I frantically tried to use cookies, and found it didn't help too much by that point.

Corbeille de Fruit - A série noire investigation by LeoM 2022-04-08T00:30:01Z

I **really** liked this game! The writing is so good, and it kept me playing for a long time, trying to figure out what is going on. At first, the FOV was kinda disorienting, and I found it hard to look around. However, it really plays well with the feelings that the protagonist is going through. Overall, I'm interested to see more!

I Can Fly by pndaa 2022-04-11T20:23:30Z

Fun game! It was interesting to try and keep the player up as long as possible. Also the voiceover got me

Baking Simulator 2022 by Sarah 2022-04-07T00:16:48Z

I recently baked a cake, so I can relate to this game! Quite fun, and really like using math for the units system. The humor was also spot on!

Manual Manny! by ghost-in-the-toast 2022-04-10T01:30:12Z

A Gameboy game! That's super cool! Gameplay is fun (even if it's the part I sucked at in the Pro Skater games :confounded:). Overall really enjoyed this game!

The Unfortunate Tale of Mr. Bones by MiltonNH25 2022-04-10T01:23:10Z

Interesting game! It was kinda hard to read the instructions, due to the red text on black background. As a result, I wasn't 100% sure what I was supposed to do at first. Fortunately, after some practice, I understood what to do, and was able to really enjoy the game from there. It was very fun!

Devil's Revenge by Zachary Shah 2022-04-08T00:55:32Z

Art style was cool! The idea of fighting a boss at a lower level was neat as well. It was weird that you can run through all enemies and have almost no problems happen though. Overall fun, and I reached 0.01% health remaining!

The Lars Mission by Honest Dan 2022-04-08T01:25:59Z

Super cool game! So many cool things about it turned out really well. A bit difficult to understand at first, and it took a while to realize the "sweet spot" part of refueling. It was also problematic when the cut down vines and the researchers got in the way, making it difficult to move around. Overall, I loved this game! So glad I got to pet the lizards!

Garden War by Firesplash Entertainment 2022-04-08T01:34:06Z

This game really hits the nail (or I guess the spike in this case) on the theme! Really fun mechanics in play here. The only issue is the build times being too long. It makes it hard to build a good way to counter the incoming party guests. Overall, it was a fun game!

Wild Deuce Chase by anchoredtoad 2022-04-10T01:56:40Z

Now, I say this coming from a person who has made some pretty weird games for some of my friends... but this is one of the strangest games I have ever played. As soon as the main menu loaded up, I just sat there for a good 5 minutes, taking in what I am witnessing. After mustering the courage to press the play button, I was even more dumbfounded by the gameplay.

But you know what? I liked it. Yeah, I *really* liked it! Thank you for getting a laugh out of me, and for making this great game!

Light-Fingered by QuadApe 2022-04-08T18:25:21Z

Such an eerie game, with the audio effects and the fear of succumbing to the curse. I loved the gameplay, and trying to find the escape and treasures along the way. Controls were a little slippery, and hard to make jumps up to places. Overall, I really liked this game!

Tower of cards by Vhalenn 2022-04-09T00:43:40Z

I enjoyed this game! The tutorial was hard to follow (though it's clear that was done in line with the setting). It was going so well all at once, but then I got fired super quickly!

Hymenoptera King by Skleembof 2022-04-08T00:14:23Z

Really cool idea, and I love the mechanics involved! Taming a hornet is kinda neat, and I like the unique goal of reducing the weight on the village. I would be really interested to see a polished version of this!

Delayarrhea by BearDing8 2022-04-09T00:35:24Z

I feel like a whole new person after playing this wonderful game. The sweet sounds, the mind-challenging puzzles, and the thought-provoking story all forms together in a fantastic bundle of absolute joy. This game is amazing.

Light at the Museum by LunacyEcho 2022-04-10T01:48:37Z

Nice to see another Godot game here, and with a Linux build too! Love the mechanics of shadows and avoiding the dark. I did get stuck at one part: ludem_dare_glitch.png Overall, I am really enjoying this game, and I will continue to play more! So good!

Cosmic Castaway by Perrin 2022-04-08T00:03:53Z

Nice art style! I love these kinds of adventure games!

The Clockwork Imperium by subcreation 2022-04-07T01:57:54Z

This game was amazing! It's a really well-done game! I also had the issue where the enemies would hide on a ledge the soldiers could not reach, however.

Paddle Panic 🚣‍♂️😱 by Marlon 2022-04-08T01:03:10Z

Had a lot of fun with this game! It's so chaotic, balancing fixing holes, pumping air, avoiding obstacles, and keeping away from the waterfall. Art is super cool as well!

Wreck at Delta Blue by Alex Stewart 2022-04-06T21:57:24Z

Some bugs were fixed, that were making it difficult for some people to play!

-Halved pitch and roll speed, to make it work well for keyboard users.

-Fixed flashing blue lights in older version. Particles were removed from samples.

-Fixed game “finishing” when collecting two of ten samples.

-Fixed audio looping for the engine of ship.

Wreck at Delta Blue by Alex Stewart 2022-04-08T17:31:19Z

More bug fixes this time around. Thanks everyone for playing, and helping find issues for me to fix!

-Fixed audio looping for the engine of ship. For real this time.

-Removed screen space reflections. This fixes a lot of visual bugs, due to current issues in the engine.

-Changed alpha clipping on the “Samples Collected” UI, so it’s less jagged and easier to read.

-Removed the space alien hiding in the ship.

@exevirus I was going to add music! Since I was at first trying to do this for the Compo section (and I prefer to do so), I was going to make the music myself. However, I ran out of time to do it. :slight_frown: I probably should have added CC0 music near the end, since at that point it would have been for Jam. But, I ran out of time for that too!

Wreck at Delta Blue by Alex Stewart 2022-04-09T19:30:48Z

@skleembof Thanks for playing my game!

I agree 100% with what you are saying! There were a lot of features I wanted to add and just ran out of time to do, due to various reasons. One of these would have been a speedometer, to tell how fast the player is moving. Also, the way to tell where the "play area" is, was going to have an arrow pointing back to where the samples are. Having a different sound / music than the awful droning sound I whipped up in 5 minutes would be nice too! The asteroids were also going to have a challenge where you wanted to get close to them (maybe for some "points"?), but I ran out of time there too. They were made dark and distant to try and make them realistic and make the player fear stumbling near one, but I clearly needed more to it than that.

I can say that, thanks to the overall feedback I'm getting, I'm going to look into making a more polished version of this game. Something that is closer to what I originally wanted to make, yet also address features that people want (or want changed). Since I want to be fair to the ratings for Ludem Dare, I'm going to wait until at least the rating period is over before releasing a "2.0" version! :peace:

Sick Air Bro by Joymagine 2022-04-10T02:06:02Z

This game was fun to play! Interesting to try out each item when you get them. On one of my first runs, this is what I got (you can tell I was just learning to play):ludem_dare_score.png

Balancing Balls by Tan games 2022-04-09T00:47:19Z

As mentioned by a lot of people, it's a simple but fun game! Interesting concept with trying to balance the balls, especially as more get added (and trying to determine the best way to tilt). Hope you had fun making it!
