Love the art style, and the hopping animation is a neat idea. Great game concept and execution. Audio made it very atmospheric.

very nicely done, well put together. Solid little jam.

I was very excited to see an action-ish puzzle game. Love the sound and the atmosphere!

I wasn't quite clear on how the game mechanics were supposed to work. I couldn't figure how exactly what opened doors when there were no switches, or what dropping lanterns actually helps me with. Got stuck on the 3rd floor and gave up after trying many things to proceed.

Maybe a small explanation on this page or in game will help player get a bit further?

Fun little puzzle game with some nice mechanics.

I seem to have escaped the world at the second "double doors" light puzzle though, by moving left after the door closed. Can't seem to get back in.

This is extremely good.

const-arch 2022-04-07 06:25

@fireslash Yeah, we should fix that, sorry. You can warp to the last checkpoint at any time by pressing R in the meantime.

@silas-reinagel The switches that you don't press are activated by light and the shadow chasing you. Lanterns both protect you from the advancing shadow, and cast light to light switches.

const-arch 2022-04-07 07:36

@fireslash We've patched the out of bounds issue, thanks for letting us know.

Oh man, what an ending. I guess the quest for the unholy grail couldn't have ended well. I absolutely loved the puzzles, and the character is adorable. Really well made! (plus, I appreciate the reset button, since I got stuck once)

caeonosphere 2022-04-08 03:11

Neat! Liked the darkness-activated switches. Just FYI: there's a bug where once you have two lanterns, you can generate an infinite number by dropping and picking them up again real fast! :)

ooo love the art style here! at first I couldn't figure out what was happening during the countdown but then a shadow got me and.. I learned the hard way :D

Nice to see another Godot game here, and with a Linux build too! Love the mechanics of shadows and avoiding the dark. I did get stuck at one part: ludem_dare_glitch.png Overall, I am really enjoying this game, and I will continue to play more! So good!

lunacyecho 2022-04-10 02:16

@alex-stewart thanks so much for playing! the trick here is that the skull on display there is actually pushable; you can push it into a hole to make it drop through and create a bridge. there's also walkthroughs in the game description if you find yourself stuck elsewhere!

Great mood/atmosphere. I love the lighting and it makes me want to try to make something similar and the art style is super. The puzzles were fun and satisfying to complete AND you included walkthroughs just in case. I played to the end and I enjoyed it. Thanks for the game  !

Enjoyed this a lot! Really well paced, created a very effective atmosphere with very little as well.

Nice work!

There is a lot of content which is really impressive for a game jam! The graphics were really well done - I especially loved how the light rendered and was harshly cut by objects in the way. I had a bit of trouble understanding how best to deal with the shadows but was able to progress pretty far regardless. I loved the dialogue, I think it was really well written. Overall, I really liked it! It was a great mix of challenging and rewarding. Great job!

Very enjoyable and polished entry with a cool atmosphere and mechanics ;-) Godot FTW!

pollahard 2022-04-15 13:22

I liked a very cute character. The game is also good

dingdingding 2022-04-15 15:42

Very nice art style!! I liked the statues a lot. Gameplay was a little confusing for me, probably partly due to that I had no sound. But maybe there could be more visual cues to what was happening, for example why the screen blinked dark/blue sometimes. The idea with the laterns was fun!

jzucc12 2022-04-15 16:25

Very neat puzzle game with great art. Good job!

hmightypirate 2022-04-15 19:34

Good puzzle game with very atmospheric music and graphics.

I've got stuck here and there. I will come back later someday and try to finish it!

frank-gevaerts 2022-04-18 18:36

Nice game! The audio is excellent and sets the mood perfectly. I did have to use the walkthrough, but even with that I got stuck on the fifth floor, at first I just wasn't fast enough and then for some reason the game always seemed to want to push me to the left as if I was holding that button down.

thecritterscove 2022-04-21 19:30

I was a bit confused at times, but I do like the idea of using lights for the puzzle mechanics. Other than the lacking explanation everything seems well polished. The environment has an appropriate creepy vibe going too. Great game for a jam!
