This is the most fun I've ever had shooting chickens off of a ship's deck. Comedic genius!

Congratulations on your rankings!
Not my kind of game, but I still found it compelling. Well done!
That was something. I just wish I knew what...
A fun little game, I found that the enemies remind me of the eyeball things from Ocarina of Time.
I could see myself playing this for hours!
I hate giving bad ratings and reviews, but this was just too obtuse for me to understand how to play.
@skyc Any of it, sorry.
@lexyvil Sorry, this is actually a non-digital game. The link to the google docs is the game itself.
@jimbly Thank you very much! I hadn't considered using sanity points before resolving a check, but as written, that's perfectly fine! For the underground river, you only make one agility check to climb the whole 30 meters. It's intended as a shortcut.
@cbdevilla Thanks! It can drag on, but ultimately, what I want the game to do is to induce the "sinking feeling" from the title, as your stats run away from you. I'm impressed that you made it to 50 meters. You can always adjust the difficulty by changing how deep you begin at; that's the beauty of PnP games. Increasing the helping hand to 20 meters might be something I try eventually. Did you try getting help from the gnomes and the treasure golem?
@cbdevilla Sorry, I forgot the golem couldn't talk, my bad. I think I might've started the player off at too deep a level.
@adroitconceptions Thanks for your feedback! Yes, player agency is definitely one area where this game falls short.
@jimbly Thanks! I'll update the link proper.
@jimbly Thank you so much for remembering!
Full disclosure: The gamedev is a friend of mine, and the Candy Raid brand is half mine, so I might be extremely biased.
This is a fun little game; it reminds me very much of the old flash game helicopter. There are bugs, such as the lack of score counter which should've been handled, as well as the ability to go out of the screen's bounds. Otherwise, I like it.
It's janky - every time I kill something, my ship moves forward.
This was fun. My only complaint, is that I wish it had WASD enabled as controls. Actually, my second complaint is that it wasn't long enough! Bravo!
The message of this game: We must send all trash to the moon!
It's so dumb I love it.
I'm not sure having a toilet in the same room as an ice cream machine is very sanitary...
Not bad, I didn't start making games until I was 13, so great job!
Welp, it's definitely a scratch game. You can only shoot in two directions, which makes it harder.
I was just thinking "what's so special about this game..." suddenly the screen is full of junk. Good job.
@martintale Could you tell me more about the bug? What was happening exactly? I haven't encountered this, so I'd like to know what caused it.
I just randomly remembered this existed, thank you for helping so many people share their stories!!
Holy crap - I didn't understand the appeal of auto-battlers until just now. Also, your presentation is on point!
The only thing I would change is maybe a few of the keyword ability names, but once I got what they did, I could follow the battle.
On the whole, a very well done game!
I don't get what "delivery mechanic" other players are talking about.
The graphics are nice, if a little small, and the music really doesn't fit, though that's coming from my experiences with other bullet hells.
On the whole, I couldn't get very far in.
Barely ran on my machine, sorry.
Inscryption did it better
Just kidding. This was an interesting attempt, and I think with more balancing the gameplay could be pretty good.
My two big gripes are that the presentation could be way better (even for a jam game) and that there was no built-in tutorial. I understand that time was limited when making this, but I had no idea what I was doing for the first couple games, and didn't even spot the "buy new hero" thing until a few games in.
@100th-coin Bingo! "Spelunky in reverse" was actually our initial idea for this - the map even uses some similar design systems when it gets generated.
Thanks everyone for your feedback!
Thank you everyone who played and rated our game! We didn't do as well as we had hoped, but it's lit a fire under us to do better next time!
You did this all on your own? That's amazing! This really feels like something that could be commercially viable. More mechanics, and LOTS of playtesting, and it'd be perfect.
I got 84 on the first level. Is that good?
I have no idea what I'm doing. What do I do with the bottles?
I'm sorry, but I didn't enjoy this. Part of the reason was that the instructions were hard to parse - writing very clear rules is key to making a game like this work, but you referenced elements of the game that hadn't been introduced yet:
> Turn over face-up into the play area one card from the draw pile and an additional card for each card (upright or reversed) in the score area.
You haven't mentioned the score area at all by this point. Add to that, the fact that it feels like English might not be your first language, just from reading the rules.
If you want to rewrite this, I'd begin by explaining the different areas where you can place cards, the anatomy of a card, etc. Maybe include some diagrams or illustrations as well. Also, having "LD50" scattered through the rules was confusing, though I just realized what you were going for there - clever.
Another reason I didn't enjoy it was simply the push-your-luck nature of the game, something which I generally don't like. Not your fault there.
I esploded.
I'd love to see a multiplayer version of this.
I love the concept and the intro movie, very funny. Sadly, after the first playthrough, it becomes very samey. Also, that music is grating after about 30 seconds.
Next time, add a second frame to the main character, so they at least look a little dynamic.
I really like the art style and the humour, though it seems that the alien's hitboxes are a bit off.
3087 meters, 1st place. Nyoooooom!
I was expecting something solemn and thoughtful about the mars rovers... but this was awesome! Is the track procgen?
I got stuck, nice graphics though!
A simple game, but well executed. Maybe more "juice" or feedback would've been good, such as when the player or the enemies were being damaged. Maybe some more enemy variety too.
A beautiful looking game, but sadly there were technical issues. The first time I played it, it was locked to the non-English language, and the second time it froze.
I think it just barely missed the mark because of these issues.
Unfortunately, it doesn't work on my laptop - it just closes without an error on start up.
Holy crap, was not expecting such a deep story from such a simple concept. Well done!
I is a goblin! Mwahahaha!
Very funny, and enjoyable. Also, I held out for 420 seconds, which was even funnier.
I can't beat the damn thing. Otherwise, good game.
Why do all the platforms keep disappearing? I can't do anything.
Platforming football game is a great idea, but it's hampered by the terrible camera. I can't see what I'm doing. Also, you need to instruct the player as to how to play.
