Awesome game :)
- hmmm... ouchie - loud music. - nice graphics -
Clearly the greatest game of all time.
Hey Tim! The game is harder then i thought. But Its Amazing to play it after watching you make it for 3 days.
A very nice game! The music's a bit too loud maybe but the sounds are absolutely great! The voice-overs are funny! :D
Kudos Tim. It is as fun to play as it has been to watch you stream the game's development. I want to beat this darned thing now!
the game is great!
it is hard, but it is fun. probably the best sound/music of this jam
this is fun, good job
finally! i'd been waiting to play this one. it's much harder than it appeared. really nice & slick movement & the sound is so immersive that it made me feels like i was one of the helpless little gnomes fighting for my freedom! lol. & u nailed the old mans voice so well its unbelievable, my favorite lines are "stay away from my PETUNIAS!" the way you emphasize the petunias is golden! & i also luv the "my garden is not for GNOMES!" XD & that middle finger at the end caught me off guard, u slipped that in at the end while i was off working on my own game lol. the old man really hates those gnomes!
awesome work tim, u fly the flag proud for game dev underground, proving that this ridiculous ludum dare jam them was GNOME match for you! ^__^
=)
I think your game can be benefited by playtesting. Can't rate it because I can't play through all of the level.
Great job, Tim! The game is fantastic. It feels way more intense actually playing the game in full screen with the screen shake than it does watching the development stream. I only really had 2 issues with it; 1st is that I don't think the game really fits the theme all that well, or did anything that original. I know you voiced your opinion about the theme being self-contradictory, but at the same time, many developers were going for really unexpected combinations, and reverse tower defense has been mainstream since the very successful Anomaly series back in 2010 (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Anomaly:_Warzone_Earth). Had this game come out 10 years ago, absolutely, this would match the theme. But again, this isn't much different from playing Anomaly, and that's not some obscure game reference nobody would have heard of. 2nd is that reaching the end of the level just feels really unsatisfying and under-developed. I got my gnomes to the end, then a bunch of waves just kept spawning, and occasionally I'd kill an enemy that would appear. Then I randomly died at one point without seeing anything that would have caused damage. At that point, it looked just like I had lost, even though I had been delivering several waves of gnomes uninterrupted. And when I restarted the game, the music wasn't playing anymore, so it felt really quiet. Normally, I wouldn't make such a big deal of this, but for having a single challenging level that isn't very long in scope, rewarding players who persevere and get through is super important. That being said, this gets high marks for just pure fun.
I can't beat the damn thing. Otherwise, good game.
Good feelings! Game very fun and quite difficult! Can be add different cards and bonuses (life and bomb)! Excellent mix of genres!
This game was a lot of fun, great art, music and soundFX.I Really like the game-play. Don't know why most people are saying it's impossible to complete, I just completed the game after playing it 3 times. You just need to kill the plants, dodge the projectiles and keep moving forward. Really enjoyed it, Great game. There some little bugs here and there, like sometimes the hand will place the exploding type plant on top of the gnome and it immediately explodes but can't see what hit us and feels like the gnome just died for no reason.

It's fun good job on making this.
Super cool graphics, audio and gameplay. The design is not that great though. I feel like there is little you can do to protecto your gnomes.
Wow! Amazing job Tim Had a blast! also love the middle finger when I lose
Music right after loading screen its very annoiyng (for some reasone, intro work only in right headphone). Even after several tries, gamplay still remain a little ocnfusing. Howeever, without doubt, graphic and mood are on the top, good job with these 2. Theme and innovation are good as well, but humor wasnt for my flavour. Overall, impressive work.
Huh! A very sick game! I love the voice acting and the gnome sounds!
Nice Job Tim. I like the feel of the game. Sounds are awesome.
Great job Tim by far the best game I have played yet well done.
This is a really good game. My only real criticism is that it did not really follow the theme as well as it could have. The reverse tower defense thing comes of as just running through a corridor with a bunch of turrets shooting at you. It would have been more fitting if the player could use some of the Tower Defense mechanics themselves. But this is still one of the best games I have played in the jam so far. Good Job.
Total carnage! 👏👏👏👏
Nice game, man! Feeling is awesome. Sounds of gnomes are a bit irritating. Probably, here should be some more ways to protect gnomes because at the begining they have to die, imo, there is no other option, before you break through the hell, hah :D But overall - really like it and I love the idea, it has real potential, maybe develop it to something greater? :D
This games challenging. Well polished. The only thing i can think about is having an easy mode. I'm gonna contine playing it to see if i can save all my gnomes.
Difficult but fun game - couldn't get very far - also watched some of the live stream. Great result
Too busy headbanging to care about the gnomes. Super polished game. Well done.
Amazing soundtrack and nice graphics! Difficult but very funny.. loved the badass mood of the game! Excellent work Tim!
Well done Tim! This is a lot of fun. Must have replayed Level 1 over a dozen times now and still have't beat it, those damn plants that target you are brutal not to mention avoiding the plants that detonate. The theme, and combination of sound effects for the plants dying and the heavy metal music is just hilarious.
would love to give you a rating for this Tim, such a shame it's only available to participants. :/ Ludum Dare really needs to change their policy on that.
The game is really nice and really hard! but fun nonetheless! I really liked the theme and backstory. The art is great!
But maybe making the minions shoot as well, doing less damage and in a lower frequency would help make the game easier. You could make that is only possible to the AI to place plants above the path you currently are, so there is not so much back tracking to save the minons that just makes you lose more health and ends your run.
Other than that, great game and awesome videos! <3
Awesome! The voiceovers killed me! lol Felt a bit too tough. I would have liked to experience a victory screen once at least. Lol Really good feedback on the bullet hit. Loved it!
Well done, a great game indeed. Giving the player more options would be great (you probably ran out of time but wanted to do that anyways), something that would change the "shoot from a safe place -> advance -> repeat" gameplay into a more "Im doding bullets like a god, and I make interesting tactical decisions. Maybe you buy upgrades for the gnomes? Maybe they can shoot with an upgrade? Or they are more tanky, or you get better weapons. Generally I felt that if the player is faster, the gameplay could be faster and more shooter like. cheers
Very hard and hectic game but also a lot of fun. Nice soundtrack too. :)
Just love the whole grumpy old man with metal music in the background theme. :D
Really, really great job TimJim!! I only got to see bits and pieces of your live stream during the making of it as I was busy on my game, I was expecting it to be good, but not this good. It's games like this that inspire me to keep making games!!

Watched this in the making and found it very interesting to follow. Having made my first game in this Jam I'd really appreciate your feedback if you can find the time. https://ldjam.com/events/ludum-dare/41/cruise-co
Epic music, stunning visuals, and hard as hell. Loved every moment playing it!
nice paced gameplay. but I found it a bit difficult to play. Maybe I suck at playing games, I dont know... I have been watching your youtube channel for 3-4 months. It was nice to be in a jam with you as a game developer.
Love the metal track :) This is so absurdly funny
Great music!
I've always liked the idea of a reverse tower defense game. You should see about making this a multiplayer game with one person playing the gnome and one person handling the tower defense stuff.
super tuff but a lot of fun - thanks for making this game
This dude has six arm's... He doesn't Stop, the A.I has caffeine in his veins.
#### POSITIVE - The music it's so intense, I feel like a garden rip out all the flowers. - Aim system and levels are great. - The sahke screen, feels so good. - good amount of gnomes to protect. - humor, really cool stuff over there (Phrases i gonna use, for real).
#### OBSERVATION - The six arm dude, he freaks out in one point, but i think a deserved it. - Some animations are like really rigid. - The first level had a glitch, when you are close to win, you got teleported to and other area and feel like you lose. But you don't lose, you teleported.
Nice game, really good.
I gave most of my feedback on stream. Great job Tim!
Really nice game! well done! really liked it! I'm a big fan!
Lots of polish and silly theme! :) Could've been faster paced but otherwise very well made.
Loved to play the game! Nice game....
Very funny game, especially all the sounds and the ending. was more juicy than i expected, great job
very well done for this game Tim. Had a lot of fun playing it with all the funny sounds and stuffs. Maybe the flashes where a bit too present but not a big deal. Also once I escorted all the gnomes, I lost the game and I had my full health I don't know why.
Great little game, love the style, the gameplay that is smooth, the rampage you mayhem and the gnome sounds that are happy or that dies. Very well done !
Really polished game! Music/Sound is pretty good as well, nothing that sounds out of place/too loud. One gripe I had is that sometimes I would die without reason.. I'm not sure if that's intended or a bug. Anyways, nice job!
The game is really well polished and the mix was cool. I think it is so so hard to play. I couldn't finish the first level. Try mine as well man
after watching todays GDU video about game feedback i thought i wud quickly say that the major problem with gnome mans land to me was that hits take off too much energy so u die in like a second lol.
EDIT: just played the updated version & see that u fixed it :P lol
Wonderful work on this, I love how you have the original submission, and everything post-jam as a seperate game.
Even though the games are allowed bug fixes, it's really cool to compare the two, and see where your finished project was at the time of submission! Hope you don't mind if I steal this idea for my future submissions, I think it would be very beneficial to me. (That and I would love to update my game in areas that technically aren't allowed, and keeping the original would technically allow that, such as addressing huge difficulty curves in puzzles that might require adding additional content)
Anyways, most of the problems I had with the original submission were addressed already when playing the bug-fix/update version. For instance, I was super happy to find that you made the bullets go past the barriers, as I would have suggested that, or making the enemy towers have less health, which by the way I am glad you didn't do, as essentially the barrier fix also fixes that problem. The difficulty is great, and the art style is interesting but could use a little work, however that isn't a huge mark down for you, as it is still good art nonetheless.
Lastly, and this is just a comment, but I find it very cool that you use Construct 2 to develop your games in, as it's a great program to use for both making finished games, and prototypes! It's also what I used to make my Ludum Dare 41 submission!
Overall, I thoroughly enjoyed this submission, and hope to see more from you in the Future Tim!
Super difficult game, but I really enjoyed the art and feel of this. The Gnome incoming and the old man shouting was hilarious. For a Jam game, The gun play felt like it really had a nice weight to it, I love little things like that. .
Really cool, but somehow I can't get the audio working.... :/
Hey, I've watched quite a bit of your youtube uploads! Thanks for all the tips on game dev! I really enjoyed playing your submission. It was incredibly difficult, but that was one of the reasons I like it so much! Super tight game-play, great music, funny concept, and all around great game!
After I watched you youtube video about that game i though its fun to play then i tried it and my though are true haha Its fun to play the Art and Design are so cool.
I believe that with more work this game will become very good and marketable. The version that jogeui was without sound and this is another thing that is much needed. Congratulations on your work.
I left my rating of your game, if you can leave your feedback in our game, Witch's Escape.
I hope you continue with the project.

Good game man and the art style is also very innovative .....also do check our game https://ldjam.com/events/ludum-dare/41/boomball.

I add a good time, voice over is a nice touch. It was a cool idea to have the 2 incompatible genres clash against each other with tower defense has the obstacle.
I streamed myself playing your game. You can watch the vod of it here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xeVofreh9pA
(Starts at 1:01:45)
Now add some procedural level generation like in Spelunky and it's perfect!
