NOTE: Apparently the Azure Web App we are running to host the game files has crashed. We are currently working on the issue.
I've disabled the Web Build for now because of the issues we're having with our backup server. The Windows and OSX standalone builds are availble though. I'm going to add the Web Build back after our Azure WebApp is succesfully restarted. Sorry for the inconvenience
NOTE: The Azure WebApp is back online so I've re-added we webplayer link
A very polished game! I really like the mood in the game, the soundtrack fits perfectly. Too bad RNG is never in my favor :D One thing though was that the waves were quite slow to move through, however if a wave was ended early then the towers didn't manage to take them down (e.g. the result was different without ending the wave early)
All in all very good game!
I fell in love to this game! The sounds, mood, music and mechanics are super awesome! I actually started to nod in the same beat with the skull on top of the screen :D Very good game, nicely done!
I really liked the game! The idea was great and so was the execution! The sounds & music gave very nice atmosphere to the experience, and the art style is spot on! Few improvement ideas might be to add some sort of "health indicator" for enemies, and maybe introduce a "hull upgrade" card. All in all very good entry!
Took me a while to figure out all the subtle hints on the screen (dots for showing where enemies are, wave spawn indicators, remaining ammo etc) but that didn't stop me from winning the game! All in all a very good execution and game all together. The rotation with A/D was a bit too fast for my taste but other than that I really enjoyed playing the game! The sounds gave a nice ambient to the game, thus setting the mood very well! A very good game!
P.S. I think I found a bug: If you've capped your HP and you activate the card that increases your max HP by 5 temporarily, after the effect ends you're no longer at the max HP cap, but 5 below that
A nice game! You can never go wrong with Astreoids and I think the color matching added a nice twist to it! I got to 7400 score before I ended up in a deadlock (I had only a single yellow asteroid on the screen and my ship was shooting blue bullets, after ~30-45sec I just quit the game)
Some feedback: 1) The instruction texts were a bit too long for my taste (after ~3rd page I just continued forward without really reading anything) 2) Increase the size of bullet color indication on the ship (it's quite hard to notice if you're moving fast) 3) Please allow holding of shoot button :D
All in all a good game! Well done!
I like the idea very much! However the camera felt a bit weird and made it very difficult just to "scan around" and see what's happening. Also some feedback for actions would be nice (planting seeds, plants growing etc. Now you really couldn't tell if a plant was growing in a soilbatch or not, and how long would it take to grow up), but all in all a good entry :)
What a brilliant idea! This is a real throwback to my childhood, where Solitaire and Wolfenstein 3D were the smash! I really love the art and audio, it brings a nice retro feeling to the game and creates a great atmosphere! I have a one (minor?) feature request though: a minimap (if you're someone who's as terrible as me with navigation in general it's not the killing nor inventory/card management that's difficult, it's trying to find to the goddamn card room :D )
Great job with the entry!
@Scrumplesplunge now that's what I call a pro-tip! Thanks!
On an idea level the game sounds great and considering the time frame well executed. However for me it was really hard the play the rhythm game with the background music track & SFX when hitting a note made the actual rhythm track you were supposed to listen muddy :/ Great idea and good sounds, I like the mechanics a lot! I think improving the sound & music balance during Rock section would make a huge difference :)
A nice idea. However the behaviour felt sometimes very inconsistent (for example on my first run the cars were just passing through me where as on some runs when I switched lanes without even touching the car on the other lane it reset the level)
Also when reaching ~160 or so the change of graphics started to hurt my eyes unfortunately.
A neat game never the less, I enjoyed playing!
A very nice game! The music's a bit too loud maybe but the sounds are absolutely great! The voice-overs are funny! :D
Let me begin by saying that I love the graphics! Simple, yet beautiful! Also the sounds are very funny, though maybe some sort of sound track could've helped to set the mood. The idea is good and I love the mechanics. However the seemingly random spawning of enemies ultimately is a bit frustrating, since all of the sudden one of them might spawn right behind you/on top of you thus killing you near instantly. Other than that very well executed, and extremely good job for a first LD entry!
I really liked the game! The concept is simple yet fun :) However quite often after getting hit by an enemy I was able to pass through obstacles that I usually need to jump over, thus causing me to fall into my peril. All in all a good game!
P.S. Not sure if it's just me but I was not able to download Windows version from itch.io (the download link only pointed to Mac version)
A very interesting concept. However to me it felt that the music was not in sync with the on-screen indicators, thus moving to the beat actually caused quite a lot of misses. Also one time the level just faded out and restarted (not sure if wolves eat carrots etc though). The music was great and the art style was fabulous! All in all good game!
A very good game! I really loved the atmosphere that was created by the music and graphics. however the tutorial was a bit too long for my taste. Also the station mechanic was somewhat confusing: when is it captured, when can I enter it? I managed to left my engineers behind and when I tried to return to the station I was unable to. Other than that a very well executed entry!
A very cool idea! I actually got hooked into playing the game :D Sometimes it was funny when you had question that you didn't have a clue about but the 3 of 4 answers weren't making any sense (things like the question's answers is a number and there's only 1 numeric answer)
All in all very good game! If you continue developing this I'd wish for some sort of background music to give some atmosphere. Also some visual hints when you're hitting enemy etc wouldn't hurt either.
I love this game! The idea is fun, I like the art style and the audio. And you guys even had a very well executed tutorial as well! There were few things that could've improved the experience a lot: - Wave timer (e.g. how long until the next wave starts) just so you can prepare - Crop timer/health (e.g. how long until the crop's fully grown, now it was just guesstimating) - Quick keys for hammer/shovel/watering can/music (e.g. 1-4 to select respective item, now it was nearly impossible to quickly take care of your crops amidst of a wave since you had to always move the mouse across the screen multiple times to achieve this) - Some info about different crops (and maybe also differentiate them a bit more, didn't ever manage to place down carrots though)
All in all very well executed game! What is it with the amount of Tower defense / X that spun up during this LD? :D I made also a Tower Def, but combined it with match 3 puzzle (https://ldjam.com/events/ludum-dare/41/runetowers if you're interested to take a look :) )
A very cool idea. Took me a while to figure out how to play but once I grasped the basic it was very fun to play! Good job!
That was fun! I really loved the idea behind the game, and the mechanics are so simple yet so great and fun! Very good job on the game!
P.S. I think I found a typo: Insomia (should probably be insomnia?)
