Really fun game. Music was great and I really enjoyed the match 3 game play to get more resources for building towers.

A well matching game for the theme. It was really fun to match the tiles while also doing tower defense.

Really nice game! This should be taken forward! :)

This is neat! It's quite a difficult game, since there's some randomness to the towers you have at your disposal. Moving the elements around the match-3 board could feel better, though. Great idea and well done!

This game is sooooo good! I absolutely love this game. Fell in love with it immediately. It's a massive success when it comes to fitting the theme, because the genres really are incompatible in the sense that playing one diverts your attention from the other, yet you've made it so it enhances the challenge, rather than breaking it. This game could've easily been terrible if you had spawned enemies right away, but giving players the chance to build up resources before the waves of enemies arrived was a smart decision. My only complaint would be that the enemy movement is too fast. The reason I say this is that you could essentially keep the balance of the game the same by adjust enemy health proportionally to their speed. For example, if you reduce their speed by half, they'll take twice as much damage, so they need double the health. Normally in a TD game, the exact timing doesn't matter so much as the proportions. But because you're asking players to divert focus to the match-3 portion of the game, it's extremely brutal when they're paying attention to the grid, and they suddenly look up to find hordes of gargoyles half way to the base. There's already a lot going on with the 2 halves of the game. It doesn't need to be so quick that the player can barely react. At least not at first. That could be an additional challenge in later stages. Over all, I'm extremely impressed by the quality of this submission.

Very good and actually relaxing game. I did not expect that those themes would fit too well together and suspected that the mash up could be forced. But nope, it was actually quite good.

One particular thing that made it feel good was the polish that was done to mouse actions. It felt natural to drag the elements in the mini game and also drag towers into place.

The game got quite hard very quickly. I would have preferred the relaxing phase, but screw casuals like me, right? :D

What I would improve? I would make different elements more distinct from each other and what they do. I know that there was the instruction manual but they still felt quite the same for me.

With little more thought to mechanics and graphics and this could be a nice game!

I had some trouble with this game. It wouldn't let me place towers. Good idea though.

Really great game. Amazing assets and i loved the music. Very creative. It amazes me how you got all that done in a weekend. Just the playing window was too long and I had to continuously scroll up and down to place my defenses and the enemy speeds were too fast - I got past level 1 fine but level 2 killed me. I liked the background music and overall it's a great game. Well done :)

two of my favorite genres in one! what could I ask for more? Enjoyed playing this though the enemies are kinda fast and tough, and there's a lot! But I'm really impressed on how you combined these 2 genres.

Good job! I'm impressed! The art is great (especially on the match 3 section), and the audio is superb! The web version seems to freeze on load though, so I couldn't get it to work. I like how you combined the genres, although I wouldn't necessarily think they were very incompatible, but that's okay. It's pretty incompatible, which is fine by my standards. I recommend that you opt out of humor though, as it is in no way humorous, and you're just going to get knocked down for it.

Good job, and good luck!

First of all, I loved the game! It's quite a nice combination of the two genres. Although I'm the worst at match 3, I had a lot of fun to play, because it seems quite good balanced and the controls worked fine. The soundtrack was outstanding and, like @notpresident35 said, the art on the lower section was perfect. I was a bit confused of the tower placement at first, it might be easier to just select a turret and then place it by clicking on its preferred place, instead of dragging and dropping it, but you get used to it. If you are planning on improving the game post LD, then i would love to see equivalent nice graphics on the map-screen, like you have on the bottom. Amazing game, thanks for sharing! :)

I REALLY like the concept!! Would love to see this expanded.

Mindblowing concept... Want to see this game going furthur

miltonnh25 2018-04-29 00:08

Good job with the game. You blended the two genres together nicely and it resulted in a pretty fun game. On the HTML5 version the screen wouldn't pan over which made it a bit more difficult but I still had a fun time playing it.
