Really fun idea! I love puzzles and this one was great. Good job

Really fun idea! I love puzzles and this one was great. Good job
Fun game. We really enjoyed playing. The only problem was that player two uses ctrl to beam, which lead to numerous shortcuts being triggered while playing. Otherwise, great job!
We really had fun with this one. Great job! But the best part probably was, when the game broke in round two and people started throwing money at us while all talking at the same time :)
The music on the start screen is great but unfortunately the game won't load for me. The loading screen appears but then it just flashes between the start screen and the loading screen. Maybe you want to have a look into this.
Thank you, for the positive feedback!
Yep @nemesis, we too basically only had two days for the project.. I really wish they'd shorten the jam to two days that fit into one weekend.
Thanks for playing and the feedback! @linnet5, @tangiblegames, @wojciech we decided to not provide a way to restore lives as that resulted in major difficulties when balancing. But you are right! With more time and levels we would have had to implement a way to regain some health.
Really fun game! I like the idea of making the enemies fight for you. Just the balancing needs some work. Because I can resurrect almost all enemies my army just gets stronger. Maybe making some enemies non-resurrectable or giving the main character a health could help. Apart from that, well done!
Fun game! Definitely quite challenging, I never got really far. Maybe making the controls a bit more precise would help.
Thanks for the feedback @thechemist, @pl4typus and @triplefox !
You are right, some anticipation could help. However, nothing spawns right in the middle. So staying centered at the start of a fight guarantees you are not instantly killed :)
The music was made just for this game, but I have to admit that I had some help from a friend on that part. I hope that still complies with the rules^^
Thanks everyone for the positive feedback!! <3
Hey ppl, thanks for the feedback!
@ebbdrop I just fixed the negative lives bug. Thanks for the notice!
I really enjoyed the game. Creating something yourself adds a personal touch to the game and is a lot of fun. How did you make the image effect that blurs distant object in this cool, oil painting like style? All in all a great experience!
Fun game, well done!
I really like the idea with the hidden path. Maybe if the players head lighted up the way just a bit I would have died a bit less ;)
Great atmosphere. The mood really caught me. Only the blurry visuals were too much for my girlfriend, so I couldn't make it to the end ;)
Really made me laugh! Good job
I would have loved to see the levels from the screenshots. But I too am not good enough to even pass the trial. Still, I liked what I saw.
I like the idea. Spent quite some time on this game. For the next jam I would invest more time in ui and controls as I often times didn't know what to press or walked in the wrong direction. And please: do not use the z key. On qwertz keyboards this is a nightmare. Still, great game and very nice pixel art!
@moffkalast there was a bug with the decontaminator building, but it should be working now. Feel free to give it another go and see if you can launch your rocket :)
Thank you all for the amazing feedback. It feels amazing to see how many people actually pick up the idea, finish the game and make the whole idea work!!
@wouter52 I am glad you and your girlfriend enjoyed the game. The game definitely could have used a better introduction. The learning curve is quite steep and some concepts are not really explained. We just simply didn't have the time to add more instructions. But next time we will reduce the scope a bit to have more time for polishing!
Thank you for playing everyone. @ondy1985 you are right about the water being added back. When testing we found it annoying having to stop our pumps when we had enough water or oil just not to waste it. So we made it that after you launch the rocket all water, oil and ore left in your storage is added back to the planet.
We also decided, from a story point of view, that there is quite some time between each civilization. For the resources this means that we add a small amount of water, ore and oil to the planet before each round. That's why on the graph you sometimes see oil and ore go up, if someone didn't use them at all.
Really fun game. I liked it a lot. Maybe some more reason to not go in a constant 8 would be great, although the breaking tracks do help to mix it up. well done.
cute game. the controls could need some tweaking but all in all a fun experience.
Great game. The idea is quite simple but it works well. The different platforms make the game a bit more diverse while keeping the general gameplay intact. The controls could be a little more precise. I felt like the character did not always go where I wanted them to. But for me the biggest critique are the spikes on the bottom. Maybe the character should bounce off a lot higher or be directly reset to the lowest platform. But as it is now I usually died instantly whenever I fell off, sice I had no chance of getting back up on a platform before loosinga all my lifes. Still, very good game.
One of my favourites so far. Challenging but not unfair. And the direct controls make the shovel an allie, not another foe you have to deal with. Good work.
I spent way longer on this game than I wanted to. The game idea works great and it is really addicting. I thing the graphics. However, sometimes the random rows feel a bit unfair. If you get certain combinations it seems impossible not to loose. Still, great game.
I think this game is really well done. It took me a while to get the hang of it but when I did it was really fun. Well done.
I really like the idea. The fish look quite scary, which is very fitting. I would have liked to have the goal of the game and the controls written on the initial screen. I tend to play first and read the description later and as such it took me a while to get what is going on. Keep up the good work!
Thank you all for the amazing feedback. We were a bit worried that having so many controls and instruments would scare people away before they really get to *dive* into the experience. Hearing that so many of you got to the end and enjoyed doing so is absolutely amazing!
@tim77 thank you for your feedback. I can totaly see how all the different instruments can be dauntig at first. This is probably along the lines of the DarkSouls easy mode debate. The high difficulty makes these games very hard to approach for many players. At the same time, having an easy mode would probably ruin the experience of ultimate triumph.
Regarding your question about the environment: We did actually build a (very basic) 3D environment and you do actually move through it. So the instruments do detect your surroundings and display them to you.
@dotsquare sorry you couldn't play the game. I think the problem is the Safari browser. You could try using Chrome or Firefox and see if that solves the problem.
The idea of this game is really great. The pixel-art look good and its actually fun to command your crew. My biggest problem is, that I have to have a crewmember selected for her to complete a job. This totally eliminates any multitaskig. After a certain point all I could do was repair because while one repair job was done the ship was already hit by another torpedo.
I would suggest removing this limitation and instead adding one more control, maybe a throttle, or removing one crew member to keep the challenge up. All in all, great work. Well done!
This is a quirky and fun little game definetely worth a play. After playing the 1000th down the well game this is a fresh take on the theme. Also the dirt simulation works quite well and is statisfying to watch and play with. Well done!
I really like the idea. Unfortunately I had some issues with hit detection. Sometimes I would just drill through a rock, other times I would go past a rock but it registered a hit anyways. Maybe this is something you could improve on. Other than that a nice little game.
What an amazing experience. This really is special. I love the voiceover, the soundrack and the creative planet designs. Well done!
This is a fun concept. Very impressive for a game jam. I like the mix of 2d and 3d. However, I think you could have stuck with 3 levels but with more polish. I often times got lost, not because of the nature of moody thombs but because I simply didn't see the stairs or the destructible wall. A torch here or there could have helped. All in all a very good game.
the cutest water drop I have ever seen <3
I really like your game. The pixelart looks neat and I love the details in some of the animations. The soundtrack also works well. The only thing I would critique are the swing mechanics/physics. Because it is such an important part of the game I would have expected them to work a bit smoother. Great game.
Great game, well done. The look is lovely. Especially of the menu. Also the voice over makes the game lively, something that is really rare in game jam games. My biggest issue are the controls. It feels a bit weird, that I have to turn using the keyboard while controling the drill with the mouse. Still, great work.
I love the concept. Although I must say that I am feeling a bit dizzy now. It's a bit unfortuante that the theme was missing completely (at least I did't see it). Amazing how just some funny messages can be enough motivation to go round after round. Well done.
My girlfriend had a blast playing your game although she only managed to capture 11 out of 12. As a sidenote the battery charge can go way beyond the menu frame. Good work.
What an amazing experience. The music is really great and together with the flashy colors and art creates a psychedelic like feel. Well done!
Weird litte game. I really liked it.
I dig the artstyle!
Thanks yall for the nice feedback!
Thanks for all the nice comments :purple_heart:. @wouter52 I am honestly a bit relieved someone managed to beat it , well done :muscle_tone4:
What a ride. I definitely wasn't expecting that. Good stuff.
Took me a while to figure out the riddles. But it's quite satisfying once you do. Well done!
Unfortunately the web version didn't load for me. Just a grey screen after I pressed start.
The desing of the pets is very creative. I chuckled multiple times after figuring out a new combination.
I am blown away by the look of the game board. This is really well done.
I really like the concept of this game. Mixing typing with "rythm" seems almost obvious. However, I think there is a missed opportunity in making the player actually play music, not just random notes. Still, very nice.
Really fun rythm game. I had to laugh when I saw that somone else also made a game about summoning pizza.
The devil and the dude are really well done. I also love the innverse kinematics on the limbs. Well done.
I really like how the mutations work. That's a clever system. Also the grab animation is very satisfying. Well done.
Hey, I really like your game. The art style is lovely and the music is just great. Only the blend between the games could go a bit further. I quickly found myself just playing the match 3 while placing a tower every now and then. Overall definitive an impressive entry!
Hey there. Just tried out your game for a few rounds. I think the idea is great and fits the theme well. The game works flawlessly and the base idea is easy to understand.
I know this it a jam entry but still, here some suggestions to improve game play even more:
I think the shooting could be more generous. It's just so much fun to blow up dozens of ships so giving the player a higher rate of fire would greatly improve the fun and the visuals (because the explosions look gorgeous)
Instead of a tutorial file just add hints into the game itself. For example show a small x icon when the player can build a tower.
I really enjoyed your game. The idea is definitely unique. For improvement I suggest a somewhat more elaborate tutorial. Also navigation and path finding could be a bit smoother. Overall a great title!
Definitely one of the best games I have played so far! The idea is clever and well executed and everything looks polished. Good job!
Hey, I really liked your game. Definitely a great entry. The idea is solid and the main task quite straight forward. My biggest issue was, that the letters are swapped after a certain time frame. Often I would miss the current letter by like a fraction of a second and therefor fail the subsequent one as well. Keep up the great work. Looking forward seeing more in the next LD!
The basic idea seem pretty interesting. Unfortunately for me no part of the game really worked. The towers didn't seem to do damage to the enemies, if they were shooting at all. My suggestion would be to next time aim a bit lower but try to get the base mechanics to work properly. Keep it up. You will get there!
