AWESOOOOOME!
Cute graphics
Cool thing with physics! Suppose it wasn't so easy to implement. If you feel like keep working on it, I'd recommend to increace movement speed and adding something dangerous in the water
Cool level desing, good tribute to super meat boy. Though I think difficulty curve is a little steep.
The game really needs some texts and a simple tutorial cause there are A LOT of buttonns. I didn't really get much feedback from the game also. I think if you're trying to do an action that you don't have enough resources for, this resources should blink or something Sorry if it sounds harsh, i think the game would work with slight improvements, you definitely put a lot of work into it. Art and music are nice and it runs perfectly
Very cool entry, but checkpoint are a bit too rare sometimes. One time i lost so much progress that I didn't want to go back and do it all again...
Fire and water work and look awesome, very intiutive introduction into all mechanics
Awww i'm sorry about the slowdowns, i think the game could be really fun! Would be nice to have a score or depth meter, if your inertia would add to projectiles, i think it would make more space for player decisions. It still is kinda cool
I love the cover art haha, kinda thought i'll be flying in this game. I couldn't ump on the second platform, it too high! Even though it's a compo, you can still fix bugs, so othere people might have a chance to play it
Looks awesome, can you make on OS X build?
I think this is very impressive for a jam game, there's a lot of quality art and work put into it. Cool exploration of theme. However I'm not sure what this game is trying to be in terms of gameplay. You're basically not able to stop enemies from coming, your defences can be placed only on the roads far from your base and they don't deal much damage to enemies. As I see it you can only run around for one minute and punch poor souls (why? Maybe you didn't have time for it but there definitely should have been special animation). I think you need to emphasize on either tower-defence (give player more agency and allow to build working defences that would hold for some time) or on collecting souls - make some other challenge to running around other then time limit. Maybe just making the game easier would help a lot really
Also I advice you to go check and rate other games and leave comments to increace your balance and bring more people to see your own game. Most of these people are game dev who can bring valueable feedback
Interesting! I had an urge to breathe with the game
OS X, Chrome, web version doesn't it into the screen. On downloadable version i have issues with <- battle upgrades-> menu always visible and uprades menu is visible on the right when it should've been hidden. Maybe problem is my resolution, cause retina displays got really high resolution and this menu would have been hidden off screen on most devices
Art, idea and gameplay are awesome, i really love this survior vibe. Though I think starting carrying capacity should be increaced, I just didn't have time to go back up with resources
Physics of light trail are cool, it was satisfying to grab the snowflakes, and different sounds on reflecting bad thoughts feel nice. I wish sound wasn't always mono, it would be much cooler for it to be positioned in 2d and overlapping into echoing chords
Cool game, sweet visuals! Don't see how to improve your skill in fighting though. Would be cool to have some timings or ability to block maybe, cause player doesn't have to choose anithing, just smash spacebar
It's fun to finally play as angler fish. It's like a typical "scary underwater enemy" in games, and now you lure poor fishes into your spiky jaws yourself!
Navigation and tile placement work fine, art is nice too I tried web version and didn't encounter any enemies. The first run i just build straight line from start to finished and completed the level, the second time the game kept givinng me tiles that i can't place in a meaningful way :д
@solah Oh, thanks, i was expecting this function but i didn't see mentions of it in descriptons or help haha. I suggest you add it somewhere
@solah Also you might be intersted in this, this is a hard but very useful article about procedural generation. It has a lot o mentions all over gamedev https://galaxykate0.tumblr.com/post/139774965871/so-you-want-to-build-a-generator
Nice visuals! Couple of bugs: 256*256 is animating really slow, and if you destroy blocks and camera moves down, you still need to click where original top surface was or it won't work
I think sounds matter a lot. It would feel completely different, if you add different node for blocks, so they would combine into chords or random melody when you dig em out
Very abstract and experimental, bold entry. Visuals are intersting and tripy. @omid-ghavami It's still really hard to understand what game wants you to do even with the hints
Also I think our games have a slight similarity in visuals
OH MY GOD. This game is absolutely awesome. Feels like playing Subnautica or Outer Wilds, but slower and more methodical. Devices mostly intuitive, but I'm lacking an option to see what's above me. Both times I died from punching my submarine into the ceiling that i couldn't see. Also, the game is very punishing. I think I've spent about 20 minutes and it was harsh to lose all your progress. Maybe you still have the time to add checkpoint?
Somewhere between 10 snd 11 Y coordinate I get really confused and can't progress further UPD: I've reached the kraken, but i died before launching thee torpeda. Was it necessary to turn the ship towards the monster before launch?
This is definitely the lonngest time I've spent on a game in this jam, and it gave me most emotions and impressions
Well polished! Not a lot of devs have time and effort to add sound buttons, help and it's own fullscreen buttton (how do even do the last thing?). Personally, Though I'd prefer to have mouse controls, or awsd, caus my arrow keys are to small haha
Awesome animations for every enemy and especially main character. At some time a thought that thegame is too easy but then I was surprised that it kept going. It was kind of gotcha moment when the game througs 6 jaws at you at the same time. I really liked slash effect, it reminded me of hollow knight. Adaptive soundtrack! Oh, boy. Great entry
Give more feedback and rating to get people playing, they need to see this :D
You sure do love graphs and stats! haha. Idea is cool, but game really had to explain what you're meant to do. It really was the theme of event that came up to my mind and got me an idea that i need to put the plains DEEPER in the water
Would be cool to auto-shoot on holdinng mouse key and at least some enemy movement. Good work nonetheless
I think it's better to aim for a shorter but polished experience when making a jam game
Made me smile from first seconds! However, I wish the were more voicelines and they didn't overlap. Also, puzzle mechanics actually work! I think making a working puzzle game is a game design achivement
Awesome cover art, got be bamboozled!
Game looks increadibe, wish there was Os X or web build!
Well, character doesn't turn, weapon range is very small, collisions are bulky - you probably know all that. However, I decided to complete the game despite the bugs. Actually, problem solving through your game was kinda fun. I could fight monsters on the right, but I only could jump over monsters on the left. Once there was a big ladder going up, and you couldn't jump once you're on it and player didn't want to move up. Turns out you you can still climb it if don't ever stop moving once you're on it or you would have to go back and start again. I guess I finished it, after a big all there was a high wall on the left I hope it was nice learning experience for you haha
You own engine, wow, crazy
Hyper speed effect and level transitions are cool, game is pretty fun averall. Somewhat similar to my game, i think i would benefit from different sections too
Thanks for OSX version! Art is absolutely awesome, i love limited color palletes. Everything works an looks perect, except for a line that's moving right to left in front of the drill. I think it was meant to show up only when you're first allowed to drill. Wanna make a more narrative game too next time Screenshot 2021-04-26 at 15.24.07.png
By the sounds it looks like the game start when I press play, but menu don't disappear
I don't know why but web version is not loading. It shows Unity logo and then loader isn't moving. Specs are - Chrome, OS X, 10.15 Catalina
Can you add downloadable mac build maybe?
@eugenik thanks! I suggest you add some warning about loading time, you probably lost a couple of player because of it
Absolutely awesome! Insane. Best I've seen here yet. Even hard to believe it's in comp
Artstyle is awesome and just description by itself made me smile a little. I really want to play your game but i don't have a mouse! It means I can't press two mouse buttons simultaniously. I think you can still add some touchpad support as a bugfix, if you havee the stregth after the jam I'll leave the tab with your game open for now
Cool game but it's really hard to understand what exactly killed you this time :)
OSX version maybe?
Os X version "can't be opened". It's a common issue for OSX builds made on windows, try googling it. If you'll make an update, tag me and I'll probably test it
Nice game but very confusing. It's very easy to dig down to deep and have all your dwarves fall down here
Wow, awesome game! I'd love to read some tutorial for how you've made the roots. Please tag me you do. Btw saw it your game on the stream of some rando
Looks awesome, wish I had windows to play it. Are most games without web build are made with GameMaker? gonna promote Godot to everyone, it’s completely free and very easy to use. You can build for basically any platform
It gave me a little smile before i passed out
Game looks and plays really well! I really like submersion scene! I suggest you increace spawn times for plastic and fish and make O2 diminish faster while you can. It takes a lot o patience to find a fish and then you might go down before you killed it (can you?). I didn't ran out of air too and didn't see upgrade screen if there is. Also in 'O2' 'o' is blue and kinda close invisible
Some games like this one are really tall for some reason and don't fit into my screen. I thought it might be for mobile then, but it says the game is not designed to run on this device
Idea is awesome though, artstyle too. Charaters bounce really hard from each other and sometimes you need to fit them into one hole which i found near impossible
Nice graphics, very smooth, what's implemented works really well, but I'm left wishing for something more
Got stuck on the third level like a noob XD
Well made! Colors are very hellish, but i makes block not really distinct from bacckground. It adds challenge, but it's also a little frustrating
Awesome integration with itch theme! But it got me confused at the start though haha
How is nobody played this game? Ya'll need to go and rate other games to increase your balance, you definitely have potential. Leaving positive or useful comments also brings people to your page
Animations and art are very cool. Of course the game needs more types of events and results, you still might just give or take resources, but it needs stories that would engage you in game. Also my flashlight stuck in bounce animation :d
Awesome music and art, sweet athmosphere. I wish you would've gone for a faster absurd over the top gameplay, like if there were much more toys, but your pusher was unstopable. I think now it's kinda boring, but it completely incapsulates toys arcade machines vibe
This is game about me after this jam....
Looks cool, but gameplay is a little dull. I only had to press "space" real fast annd change direction very rarely. Nice tutorial
Good entry! Clearly a lot o work was put in it. In-game tutorial is wrong, haha, z and x switched places. There aree some bugs like endless wall jumping with spamming jump sounds. Mining animation differ in speed in different directions. Elevator is a cool feature, i wouldn't have thought of that
Looks pretty, wish I could test it cause Mac build isn't working :D It just says "Can't be opened". I had similar problem before with my friend's game. He said i can fix it by running in terminal this command ||| chmod -R +x app_name.app/Contents/MacOS |||. It worked then, but your app doesn't work after this fix anyway Screenshot 2021-04-29 at 00.52.44.png
Deeeeeeep.......
Fun game, catching fishes adds a twist to usual falling game. Of course would be cool spend money somehow, also there's a little bug - depth meter only shows two digits
It doesn't have a link to an actual game, only the soure
I've played this game before you made it haha. Cool theme twist
Looks awesome, wish I had windows to play it. Are most games without web build are made with GameMaker? gonna promote Godot to everyone, it's completely free and very easy to use. You can build for basically any platform
I had almost the same idea at first! A was thinking about busting down through layers of something with synced music, but went another diection later. Super enjoyable, even low perfomance and stutters on big depths feel like punching the fabric of the universe. Awesome
@stewmega not sure what engine are you using, but there are plenty of free tools. For example im using Godot, it's all free and opensource, great engine for small 2d or 3d games! Much easier then Unity or Unreal but still really capable
There are so many games with windows only builds, but i don't want to reboot into another system...
Thank you all for playing and showing interest! Some of you were asking for my soundcloud, so i created an account. There's five tracks, including soundtrack from this game. [Check out my music here](https://soundcloud.com/ariorick/tracks) tagging people who showed interest: @theseusinabottle @xcvzxc @pdotjpg @seafishelle
@goodwincek Thanks for doing that! For some reason i didn't realise that i can just google this problem. They say to increase audio buffer, but i can't find this setting, so i guess i need to increase latency? Do you know the solution?
@jfroggg, you beat the developer! My maximum score is 60000!
@elsombrero it is! This is also my first playable somewhat finished project! I'm very surprised by results too. I have another game about a month in developement though, so I've improved my skills quite a bit lately Screenshot 2021-04-29 at 14.08.13.png
@graios thanks! Already fixed it in dev version but decided not to update it, cause no one seemed to have found it
@jakobthequizguy current known record!
Thanks @pat-cleaver! Actually I was trying to make a rhythm game at first, but turns out it’s quite difficult to analyze a song and make a playable level out of it. Btw there’s soundcloud link in case you want to listen to my other tracks: https://soundcloud.com/ariorick/tracks
Yeah, doesn't open
SOOOOO CURSED. Thanfully moth got out onn it's own cause I was absolutely useless with this blues instrument. 5 stars
Art and music are cool. I think it needs to throw much more monsters and give more feedback like screenshakes. Also a helthbar for your base would raise the stakes, just score is not enough i think. Andof coursee increasing difficulty with time, i forgot it too when makinng my game, and it would have been such an imrovement
Nice end twist and easter eggs! Wish there was any chanllenge in gameplay. I think, ability to jump would open a lot of possibilities for more interesting level design. Also, I'm not an artist, but I think white outlines look weird. In pixel art language it probably means that sprite is lit from behind? Probably better to use darker color of edge of the sprite or just black
Idea is cursed, visuals are awesome! Try posting it on itch. Not sure if it's your website, but it's displayed in a really small window, on itch you can set resolution manually and there's fullscrin button. Also it looks like there are some currents, but it's not visualised in one way? Why do they suddenly turnn directions and bust into walls sometimes?
I tried to get back into penis but there's an invisible wall... :C
Wow, i thinks graphics are impressive, nice limited palette. I was wandering for a long time looking for an exit, turns out you need to pickup stones ffor a statue?? I also found one green square enemy. Out of interet i came closer and it killed me and screen faded to black forever. 5 for mood and humor i guess haha
