Man, making combos is super satisfying and juicy! But, the floaty controls make the rest of the game a little hard to deal with. This game is sort of a reverse-bullet-hell and in most bullet hells you have *super* precise controls ... maybe take a page out of their book.

Other than that, this was quite nice. Maybe add some kind of mechanic where you have to build up your dash over time, so you have to alternate between dodging and smashing through asteroids?

Well polished! Not a lot of devs have time and effort to add sound buttons, help and it's own fullscreen buttton (how do even do the last thing?). Personally, Though I'd prefer to have mouse controls, or awsd, caus my arrow keys are to small haha

Thank you very much for your entry - I hope you had great fun making it

I liked the retro style of the game - I suppose that kind of comes with the PICO8  The entry seemed well polished especially for a relatively short time frame

I hope you'll drop by mine and give it a spin

@ariorick I didn't make any of the side buttons, they are added automatically by PICO-8, which is the software I've used to make the game. Thank you for your comment !

Trying to get as high a combo as I could was fun - I imagine a score system would have helped to further incentivise that. Good stuff!

Cool little entry. LV8 was hard, and felt pretty random, I almost gave up, but pushed through.

While I'm here, before the jam I answered a question here on the Feed regarding "inspiration/role-models". I cited your game "One Jump Ninja" made for GMTK game jam.

It really helped the way I approach game jams, and level design overall, so thanks!

For 10 hours pretty solid entry.

hey very consistent game, nice graphics and sound effects. I just have one thing to complaing, about the ship, I thinks its a lit bit to heavy, but I dont know if was on purpose! Also nice effect for dash. Well done for 10h worked! ;)

Nice and simple. Getting combos feels pretty satisfying!

The artwork and little particle effects are great.

Originally wanted the controls to feel a little tighter (less swimmy) but after getting used to it (and dashing around more) it all works together well!

Good job!

This is great! Seriously done in 10h that is bonkers! Very well done.

Simple concept well-executed. For a 10h jam I wasn't even expecting more than 1 obstacle type of the speed-ups every so often.

I'm glad I read the description - I was about to quit but the game got a lot better when I read that dashing though asteroids would give me health! it makes for an interesting risk/reward type of dynamic. I like how in stage 4 ish there were a lot of asteroids, which sounds like it would be bad but actually was very good.

stage 7 reminded me a bit of the vvvvvv gravitron

nice work! love to see pico-8 games :D

✔️ Overall nice retro graphics / feel.

✔️ I really liked the combo system to regain lives, this was a nice touch that added some risk vs reward.

✔️ Good difficulty curve and length.

➖ Maybe one more obstacle type could have been nice.

This is really well put together for such a short amount of time! The parallax scrolling gives you a really good sense of speed increasing through the levels and adds a nice level of polish.

I really loved the multicolour trail coming out of the ship too, just looked really great!

Great entry, surprised you managed to make it in 10 hours, that's a hell of a feat! I like the gameplay a lot, everything is very well designed and put together. I especially love the dash mechanic as it added a new flair to the classic side-scrolling arcade-y movement. The graphics and SFX are juicy, with good feedback on what is happening at all times. Very neat, polished experience.

If you're looking to keep working on it, I think an "endless" mode would be a great addition, as I could see myself playing this nonstop

Nice work for just 10 hours. You should feel proud! Congratulations.
