Enjoyed it. The limited claw length and fixed speed is an interesting mechanic.

love the art work ^^ fab little game
Nice little game with fun graphics. Seems like your depth counter only goes to 100 before it resets.
Pixel art was excellent. Great simple game. I found myself wanting to spend all that cash I'd been earning by catching the fish. Perhaps the next step would be to upgrade or buy new subs.
Great work!
@jason-wilson thanks! yeah the building on the right was intended to be a research center where you could buy upgrades.. longer hook, faster sub, etc etc.. but had to scrap that to make it in time. :)
Great game! The art and sound were well done and satisfying. It also seemed like it would adjust the difficulty based on how well I did the previous time, which is a fantastic feature if it was intentional! Well done!
Loved the graphics, especially the submarine. The hook moved so smooth and was fun to use
I think there's a lot of potential, but the mechanics don't have great depth as it is. The fish all spawn in almost the same place and as far as I played there was really only two types of obstacles: left or right. While I did enjoy the mood of the game, I do think that more variation in the gameplay would lead to the mechanics being more interesting and fun. Great work on a compo game though, this stuff is hard!
Really great mechaincs. I loved the submarine animation, it was really fun
It's a solid little game ! When I play it I think of things I could do for cheap to spice things up, like altering color of the water or the fish behavior as you get further down.
Sprites are very well done; would have liked to see the shop system make it in. Game looks and plays great, keep up the good work!
Good job on this entry! Totally nailed the theme on this one! I found it to be really difficult at first but got the hang of it quickly. Like many others have said, its unfortunate that 48 hours elapse so quickly, otherwise i would have loved to spend all my hard working coins on some cool upgrades. Good sound effects and the art style gave of a really pleasant vibe! As i said, really good job! :D
nice job, it's always a fun time in a yellow submarine! It's a little sad not being able to spend the hard earned money, but it is financially responsible!
Simple little game!
Too bad there's no music and that we can't spend all that money we're collecting, but considering it's a compo game I guess that you didn't have time for that ˆˆ
It's pretty fun to play, simple enough to understand, I quite like it!
@sheinxy thanks! I really wanted to add music, prior to Compo I was watching videos and playing with 1 Bit Dragon (https://1bitdragon.com/) but ya simply ran out of time.
Fun game, catching fishes adds a twist to usual falling game. Of course would be cool spend money somehow, also there's a little bug - depth meter only shows two digits
Simple and fun game. The artwork and the sounds are great. Everything is so minimal but added together it all works fantastically. These are the types of games I love where it was clear there was a lot of work put into it but nothing sort of jumps out at you as over the top. A lot of room to add new things as well. Simply a job well done!
I was hoping the shop at the start would let me buy upgrades; It seems like that might have been the plan, but I guess there are limits to what can be accomplished in 48 hours! The art is nice, especially the way the submarine is animated. :)
Very clean and simple and fun game. I enjoyed it a lot. Great artwork also. The only suggeston is, after the first gameplay, I don't know if it's possible or not but, you can skip the waiting 3 seconds and the transition animation. We can just go to the peer and cut instantly to game. It could speed up the game. But great job for 48h nonetheless!
A fun little diving game! I liked the graphics and especially the sprite animations a lot. Grabbing fish with your arm also feels pretty satisfying. I encountered a bug where my depth always reset back to 0m after reaching around 90m. That also might have been the reason that the challenge stays pretty much the same, so once you figure out the stone patterns I could go on almost indefinitely. Still a great submission for a 48 hour work, I'd love to see this expanded!
Got a little confuse by the shop, after gaining some money I was thinking it would allow me to buy some upgrade. The game is relaxing and could work well on mobile I think. Nice work.
@sanemsky thanks for the tip, if you're trying to go through a bunch of runs I imagine the 3 sec gets annoying after awhile..
@fargred thanks I'm planning on filling out the rest of the game if I can.. the fish get spawned in a similar area each time as do the obstacles.. so I'd like to add some variety there for all of those elements. maybe as you get deeper some of the fish hide under an obstacle a bit to force you to navigate an obstacle.
@pvp thanks! I was thinking about mobile, maybe if you hold down the screen you can move your thumb left and right to move the ship, but if you take your thumb off the screen it launches the hook, that way you could play it one handed. And having you stay in place while the hook launches could add a bit of a challenge too.
A fun little game. I enjoyed the art and i think some music would complement it very well. Gameplay is also fun but it gets repetetive very quickly. It would also be nice to be able to do something with the money you get but I understand the time constraint. All thinks considered a cool little game and a nice entry. Good job!
Kind of fun, artwork is cute, felt like the gameplay needed some balancing to increase the difficulty to keep it interesting, increasing the difficulty as you go down further in one way or another. I felt like I could keep going a good long while and only died because I was starting to get distracted. Good job.
Pretty fun lil' game! I can see a good amount of potential in the gameplay mechanics that are already here. Hopefully you'll be able to get around to making a post-jam version soon!
Cool simple game. Nice entry!
