LD50 — Delay the inevitable

You Are A Bomb by Benjamin Halko 2022-04-04T20:34:19Z

Oh man, this one was a blast to play through (no pun intended). It got super hectic near the end trying to pick up more bombs before the blew up what little pieces of bricks remained. The graphics and music are great too! Would love to see this expanded on more in a post-jam version.

Devil's Revenge by Zachary Shah 2022-04-04T18:49:17Z

I like the creativity this one has going for its theme, putting the player into a purposefully under-leveled situation is something that would've never occurred to me. It's a simple game, but it accomplishes what it sets out to do well. Nice work!

Time's... Up! by Waysneighborgo2 2022-04-04T19:59:53Z

Neat game. I think some tweaks could be made to how the time is handled - there is no consequence for getting hit by the enemies or spikes other than going back to the start position, and once you collect all the wires, there's nothing left to do other than keep collecting coins. Not a bad entry, however!

ENTROPY by LarsDu 2022-04-04T19:20:45Z

Fun game! Took a little bit of getting used to controlling the gravity itself and not the speed of the particles, but I was able to pick up on it eventually. Good job for your first 48 hour Ludum Dare title!

Drater by lomstfer 2022-04-04T15:53:38Z

Not bad for a first Ludum Dare entry! I like this spin on the "collect as much as you can" idea by not being directly in control of anything, but instead influencing where the collectables go. I would've liked to still be able to see where my mouse is though; I found it pretty difficult to be able to tell where exactly I'm moving everything. Overall, though, you've got a solid entry with a good twist!

Lights Out by Dan Livings 2022-04-04T16:22:48Z

You've got the groundwork for a really good idea here. The presentation is as perfectly simple as it needs to be; it just needs a little more meat to it to be considered a game. I don't the solution is to strictly discourage clicking on the same square, but to encourage branching out to different areas (such as by having the brightness gradually fade with each click but can be recharged by going over a highlighted tile, maybe?). That's just one way you could expand on the formula, but I think there's plenty of different ways to do it.

I would absolutely consider looking into a post-jam version if I were you - I do see a lot of potential in the idea.

LifeWasterâ„¢ by sirJupitron 2022-04-04T19:37:17Z

I really liked the sense of humor that this game has going for it, and the decision to pair it up with an idle clicker was perfect; I don't think it would have been nowhere near as effective if it was paired up with some other genre. Depth-wise there's not a lot to it, but I think it adds a lot to the experience - again, it works perfectly for a "LifeWaster" app.

I was a bit confused about the home button's presence at first, since I thought it was just some kind of gag that you can't leave the app - it's all you're wasting your life on now - and it was only while I was on the shop and clicked on it that I realized it just took you back. Maybe the home button could just only appear when the shops are active to make its communication more clear. Other than that, great work!

LD40 — The more you have, the worse it is

Tic-Tac-Matrix by Antti Haavikko 2017-12-05T20:42:07Z

As others have said, the game may have possibly benefited more if you weren't just combating the AI -- a solo experience where you simply try to solve the puzzles using what tools are given to you would've perhaps worked a bit better, although I could imagine this being a fun lil' two-player experience! The entire game has such a weird concept and I love it. Definitely something I wouldn't think of, and it helped me sharpen up my matrix skills after so many years, haha. Overall, this was a small little time-killer that I could see myself trying out again. Nice work!

Curse Collector by bridgs 2017-12-05T21:32:44Z

Well that was certainly something, haha. I always love these kinds of games that stack up as many effects as they can on you, and this one hit me just right in that area. I almost wanna go back and see just how many curses there are. Great game.

SUPER COP HERO by Finlal 2017-12-05T18:35:32Z

Man, what a great game this was! The only main issues I have with the game would be that it feels like there are too many buttons -- I feel as though it would have been better if your gun reloaded automatically instead of having to have an entire button dedicated to it. The button to reset the game after you die (F2) could have also probably been mapped to the mouse button, but that's just a nitpick. The difficulty was something that took a bit to get used to, but once I did I have lots of fun. Fantastic job.

The Quiet Mind by broccoli 2017-12-06T00:33:53Z

Absolutely love the presentation! The gameplay itself was pretty fun as well. With a bit more polish I can easily see this going places.

Mushroom Délicieux by TRASEVOL_DOG 2017-12-05T17:12:31Z

A fun idea! While I liked the idea of the aesthetic, I do think this game suffers from it, since it can be kinda hard to make out what's what in the later levels. It wasn't anything that awful, but perhaps something that could use a bit of tweaking. Overall, I'd say it's worth a shot. Good work.

LD48 — Deeper and deeper

Unsoiled by MiniBetrayal 2021-05-13T05:21:22Z

A super fun entry! The perfect length for a game jam, in my opinion, and probably the one I've had the most fun with so far. My only two major complaints are that the game can get pretty resource intensive at times, and it can be really hard to distinguish between the oil and the rocks when they're very thin white slivers. Otherwise, this was a blast to play through. Nice work!

Infiltr8 by joe40001 2021-05-10T20:38:28Z

Pretty darn fun game, I loved the polish and it's the perfect length for a jam game! Not very difficult to complete but I don't think it needs to be. Would love to see more levels with some more brain-teasers though!

Drill by Laurari 2021-05-15T01:53:39Z

A pretty simple game, I liked it! The only big thing I would suggest to improve is to make it a bit easier to know where the fuel tanks are; it feels like I would constantly miss them and it almost makes the game feel like it's up to chance, not strategy, whether you can get a good score or not. Regardless of that, the game's controls are fun, and I can easily see potential here for a bigger post-jam release! Nice work!

Deep Sea Discoveries by Lithia Studios 2021-05-15T02:17:58Z

Pretty fun lil' game! I can see a good amount of potential in the gameplay mechanics that are already here. Hopefully you'll be able to get around to making a post-jam version soon!

Y-Sokombanator by --0 2021-04-27T15:52:00Z

I found this a bit hard to wrap my head around so I didn't get very far, but man, what a cool concept! I'd love to see this fleshed out more in the future with a more gradual difficulty curve!

Shroom Island 2 by jan5366x 2021-05-15T02:43:38Z

Not too shabby! The pace is kind of slow and the controls are somewhat slippery, but I can see a good deal of potential in this. The graphics are pretty nice too!

The Dive by raptor851 2021-04-26T23:22:37Z

Very neat short experience! I found the control scheme a bit clunky, particularly with picking up and using items, and I wish there were a bit more interactability, but overall the presentation was very solid. Fantastic job with nailing the unsettling tone with the graphics and sound design!

BritaMiner by Junior Lima 2021-05-13T04:02:12Z

Pretty good for a first jam game! Simple, but I think this has potential to be a fun little time sink with a few additions. One thing that I would suggest to add is some kind of gradual difficulty curve. I got a score of around 187 and I didn't notice anything like a speed increase or more rocks being added. I think small changes like that over time would help to make the game more engaging for those that can manage to survive for a long while. Otherwise, this is a pretty solid entry. Keep at it!

Cosmonoid by neontropics 2021-05-10T20:25:56Z

Really fun game! Couldn't get past level 6 but the rest of the game was pretty fun to go through. The only main gripe I have with the setup for the gameplay is that sometimes it can get pretty disorienting, even with the camera rotation, but otherwise this is a very solid jam game. Great job introducing the mechanics too!

Savestate by Monkosum 2021-05-13T04:25:35Z

Really cool concept you've got on your hands! I could very easily see this being expanded into a much bigger game if you had the ideas for it!

HELLEVATORS by Quackqack 2021-05-05T03:10:26Z

Really interesting concept and a unique take on the theme! I think the main thing that's missing right now is polish/streamlining. It was a bit confusing as to why the souls wouldn't go anywhere at first, and they often don't catch the hellevators synchronously. Perhaps having a bit more leeway by preventing the doors from shutting while a soul is running towards it would lead to better game feel. Still, a pretty fun jam entry nonetheless!

Pagemage by OrbitalBlueprint 2021-05-13T22:04:16Z

Lots of potential here! Unfortunate that features had to get cut short but I could easily see this being expanded and polished up even further in a post-jam version! What's already here is pretty fun to play through too.

Super Base Jumper by madbookstudios 2021-05-10T22:22:54Z

Pretty fun! I like that the controls have a bit of a learning curve to them; it takes a while to get used to, but they're able to be picked up pretty easily. My only real gripe is that I'm not too sure if the levels should be split up into individual screens without any scrolling between them; it's not too often but there were one or two instances of a cheap death because of this. Despite that, however, this was a solid entry!

Mycelisation by bereg 2021-05-13T23:11:20Z

I really liked this one! Lots of people have said that the gameplay feels pretty easy but I actually found it kind of hard to get a good strategy going, haha. I'd perhaps make it more clear which tiles have how much water in them and make predicting where the dead ends will be less difficult. I also happened to stumble upon a seed that had no rocks in it whatsoever...may want to fix that for a post-jam version!

Grapple Tongue by Mors 2021-04-27T03:54:40Z

Nice work once again! The controls are pretty fluid and the difficulty curve is good for the most part, the only part that really gave me trouble was getting the baby bird in the thunder area. Ending's also pretty anti-climatic but I get that this was rushed a bit so it's not too big of a deal. Good job!

LD53 — Delivery

Kirk's Food Delivery Game by HacksawUnit 2023-05-01T04:35:45Z

Dang, I'm impressed with this one! Incredibly short, but very sweet. I really love how this game has you using all of the buttons at your disposal to go as fast as possible instead of relying on just one technique Very well done, would love to see more of it!

Kirk's Food Delivery Game by HacksawUnit 2023-05-01T14:25:42Z

@hacksawunit ahhh, whoops, I'll just have to do a re-run later in that case :V

Octo Arms Deliverance by KarlTheCool 2023-05-01T04:42:21Z

Trippy! I actually don't think I've seen an "arena shooter" like this where you're not confined to just a box before; I think it's interesting how there's continually more and more to the right of you. Perhaps it's an idea that could be looked into further?

Boxbrawl Delivery by Cruise Elroy 2023-05-03T18:50:12Z

@bonzochuff That's awesome!! I'm really impressed with how it looks on a CRT, wowie.

LD56 — Tiny Creatures

Apple Snake by johnbrynte 2024-10-08T02:45:22Z

Very cool concept here! The idea of having a miniature game of Snake set inside a level you have to navigate to with gravity physics is really neat, and would love to see this kind of idea expanded on; I could already see a lot of potential with this premise. Really liked the visuals for this one too!

Honey for the Winter by adjo 2024-10-08T00:17:33Z

I had a fun time with this one! The premise is really simple but it got me hooked pretty fast. I could easily see this being expanded into a bigger title. Good stuff!

Observing by look_for_happiness 2024-10-08T02:35:58Z

Loved this one! It's an extremely simple idea but you managed to get a lot out of it. The idea of using a magnifying glass to get a better look at these small critters is fun in itself, and it was honestly pretty fun even without much going on, mechanically. Very well done.

Soot & Stinker by CodeRaurus 2024-10-08T01:11:13Z

Fun premise! Baiting the giant sock into stepping on some blocks while avoiding getting squished is fun. Really dig the visual direction too - the slightly scribbly aesthetic makes this a really memorable one. Nice!

Mice Cage / 鼠笼 by Xlores Liang 2024-10-08T01:24:01Z

Really liked the presentation of this one! Point-and-click adventures are something I pretty rarely see in game jams so it was cool to see an attempt at it here. I'll have to come back to this one at some point to find some of the other endings!

Hexoban by PlasmaPuffs 2024-10-08T02:57:52Z

Honestly one of my favorites that I've sampled so far. It's very interesting how just the simple premise of tweaking the grid to be hexagonal instead of squared shakes up the gameplay this much. My only real gripe is that I feel like movement is a bit too slow - I like to tap pretty rapidly through Sokoban games like this, so if this were ever expanded upon I'd like to be able to move faster, but that's really about it honestly. Very nicely done!

Jar Life by zep 2024-10-07T02:00:54Z

Fun entry! I haven't seen a lot of games use the idea of controlling multiple entities at once, and I think it's put to pretty good use here. The second to last level was noticeably tougher than the others but it wasn't too much of a difficulty spike, I was still able to clear it with 40 creatures in tow. Good stuff overall!

LD58 — Collector

Swarm Surge by Rinevard 2025-10-07T00:48:01Z

Fun concept! I've seen a couple games that have you collecting weapons/parts from enemies, but not one where you collect creatures that are a part of other factions. Would be neat to see this idea expanded upon.

Cats King by av_shustov 2025-10-07T00:59:32Z

Fun lil' take on an idle game; I really like the concept of being able to build up a bigger and bigger chain to make reaching more valuable deposits easier. Would be a bit nice if the progression were a *little* faster though, as others have already pointed out.

Bug Driver 3D by Reaktori 2025-10-07T01:19:40Z

Wow...I'm really impressed by the quality of this for how short of a jam this was. A fully voiced opening cinematic is quite a rare sight for a jam game, haha! Driving in this also struck a great balance between fun and funny; losing a bunch of bugs because I tipped over was equal parts devastating and hilarious. Working in the "on the hour" clock bells for the music was also great. Excellent entry! Easily my favorite one so far.

Greedy Miner by Lyshaka 2025-10-07T02:18:15Z

Fun little time killer, always been a fan of this type of game. I like how the fog of war is implemented and the idea of having to keep track of where you came from so you don't risk losing out on your haul - though I thought the screen suddenly getting darker was a bug at first, haha.

Trading Postage by Istaera 2025-10-07T00:37:39Z

Very fun concept! A bit complex to immediately grasp but once I understood the basics the rest came together fairly easily. I really like the way the music builds up as you put together better stamp books, and the concept itself of arranging a collection of stamps was a very creative take on the theme!
