Not a novel idea, but still a lot of fun. Definitely captures the idea well. I like that you made the aliens move around. The whole thing becomes chaotic and stressful after the 20K mark. Good job!

I'm a big fan of ARPGs so this was pretty fun. I wished the levels were a bit more interesting. Enemies with varied behaviours would be nice too. But I understand the difficulty in making something like this within the time limits. Nice take on the theme.
I like that you included a couple different platforming mechanics, like double-jumping, wall-slides, and dashes. The movement overall felt a bit too floaty. It's hard to get platforming movement to feel good, I know. The pixel art for the character is nice. I also liked the mechanic of having your bullets fire back at you. Enemies weren't as engaging as I would've liked. I think you can push the mechanic a lot more with some more interesting enemy design.
Gameplay could be faster, but I like it overall.
I generally like these kinds of experimental games, but I got stuck pretty early here and couldn't figure out how to progress.
Easily one of the best games of the jam. Solid work. Extend and sell this.
Pretty, but the coughing and the character stopping constantly to do so became annoying. I think the idea is there... it just didn't get fleshed out.
Get your basic mechanics down first. Once you've polished the platforming, you're free to start playing with more features. Right now, the character falls too slowly, gets stuck on walls, and overall feels pretty janky. Not a bad first attempt. Keep at it.
@nax-89 the game is 320x180. most of the art is 16x16. i used pyxeledit for that. nothing more was planned specifically for this but maybe something like it. :)
