Amazingly clever!

Amazingly clever!
Really impressive to make a shooter in 72 hours. I couldn't quite figure out how to exit the game however.
I learned how to make low poly speed models in Blender from your youtube channel! Funny game. If I could make one suggestion it would be to make the alien mirror your left and right controls. Without any control over the alien, this game can be quite random!
I was pretty impressed by the graphics, but standing in front of a valve staring at a rock to fill a canister is obscenely boring.
This game was hilarious. I was sticking in it just to see what would happen by the time the battery hit 0, and I was not disappointed.
Its pretty entertaining in a janky way. I accidentally triggered the nuke killing everyone in the city.
Awesome interpretation of the concept. Think this is my favorite so far.
The visual polish on this game is quite amazing for a game made in 72 hours. I was also really impressed by the fact that you took the time to vary the backgrounds, implements a store, and rope physics on the little plant thing.
One of the most polished games I've seen by far!
Darn near uncontrollable, but I suppose that's the point.
Suprisingly polished. I really think the music was pretty great
Very funny and I loved the music. Reminded me of Sonic 2 for the Sega Game Gear for some reason.
This is astoundingly good for a gamejam game. I'm making a game like this as my non-game jam game and I've been working on it for months!
One of my favorite so far. I gotta say I had basically the identical idea for my game (although I didn't have time to implement the actual planting mechanics), right down to the little green guy! Ya'll should check it out!
Reminds me of papers please. I especially love the little details like how your son and brother are among the treated. 5 in all categories from me!
An interesting concept, although I'm over thirty, and I've never used a commodore 64 before. The console is very impressive and unique!
Impressed by graphics and animations, but the hitbox on the weapon makes this game all but unplayable.
You might want to mention that you used Synty studios assets fyi
Concept is interesting albeit very little to do. Great take on the theme!
A little bit slow paced for my liking. The artwork is nice however.
Its quite difficult and the lack of sound is a bit offputting
I love the music. Perhaps the interaction items could be marked more clearly (eg with animations or a different color).
@beavergames Perhaps you could try (in Firefox): ``` Type this in the firefox searchbar about:config and search for security.fileuri.strict_origin_policy It is true by default, you can set it to false.```
@fireshake To get normal ammo, you need to collect at least 5 crystals and walk up to the plant. It will then spawn normal ammo.
You need normal ammo to survive this game as explosive ammo will kill yoda if the demons get too close.
@effarek if you're standing in between the monsters and yoda, they're more likely to attack you.
@nosfer @drskort feed the plant crystals for bullets as per instructions
@baret Thanks for taking a second look at the game! I'm tempted to go in and fix things like the absence of visual feedback on getting hit, but I feel like that would be breaking the rules. Also I'd probably be tempted to do a lot of other things (like building the original plant watering mechanics, making the castle more maze like, fixing the ai etc. All in all, doing all that would make the game lose the charm that comes out of being made on such a short timeline. I modeled a mech in blender, and I was super tempted to put it in the game, but I'm going to hold off on doing anything more like that!
Kindof an odd choice to shake rainclouds instead of clicking them to bring on rain.
Great animations, great music, extreme difficulty. I haven't actually beaten this yet, but I think it's my favorite yet. Very polished effort!
Like the music
Nice graphics but the controls are a bit clunky. It feels like I'm never doing any damage.
A bit disorienting. I couldn't quite figure out how to even use the plant waterer.
Wait so you guys have some sort of intern on your team? Jk. Funny game!
The flashing was a bit distracting, and I kinda expected to be able to go left and right which was disappointing. The graphics and music were great though!
I came in with low expectations, but was pleasantly surprised. This is a well designed game.
Amazing game and fantastic animations. I would love to know how you did the water. And what engine are you using?
This is the only ld48 game I played down to the end. I was so happy to get a photo of a great white shark. Amazing work.
Loved it. Difficulty is high, but man does it fit the theme. Ya'll watch Rick and Morty too eh?
Amazing. Just amazing. I am in awe. This 72 hour game made me feel more in 10 minutes than most AAA games. When the blood started rising, my heart started pounding. This game wins Ludum Dare hands down.
I had to comment again since I actually beat the game on my second playthrough. This game is a masterpiece!
Very ambititious. I also attempted an FPS last ludum dare, and I found you need to use compiler flags to make the mouse sensitivity lower in webgl.
Nice game. Excellent level of juice. Love the music
Have you seen Raised by Wolves? Fantastic take on a classic game! Very innovative use of procedural meshes. You should write a tutorial
I opened all the gates, got to the green one, then got lost?
It's ok. Cooldown on the gun probably need a meter, and some particle effects are probably in order for the asteroids when they explode.
This was actually one of my favorite LD48 games. Reminds me of Sonic CD special stages, and an incredibly unique idea.
Entertaining and looks good.
Eh its ok. The ding sound is a bit high pitched.
Reminded me of downwell, but the size of the game was a bit too large given its nature. Perhaps a more pixel art style would be better suited
I liked how the goo visually moves through the pipe.
Unbelievably interesting concept. How did you go about programming the water fill? This may be the winning game of the jam imo
Visuals and mood are quite great. The game itself was a bit too slow paced.
One of the most polished games of the jam so far. Great job!
Interesting concept
Incredibly well polished and atmospheric.
Interesting take on twin stick shooters
Interesting game. Might want to simplify the mechanics a bit to make it easier for the player to remember.
Loved the use of post processing for the visuals in this game.
Whelp the song was the highlight here for sure.
Audio and mood were A+!
Amazing game. Top one I've played so far from this jam
Good for a laugh
I came into this game not expecting to like it that much, but I played it all the way through to the very end. Great game. The upgrade system really made this work.
Classic tower defense. good job!
Has a wonderful atmosphere. Graphics and sound reminds me of earthbound.
Loved it. The sound and attention to detail was extraordinary. This felt like a very complete experience.
A charming little tower defense game!
Great atmosphere and mood.
Super rare to see a python game on here! Great job. The animations are great, especially for a game made using pygame!
The best artwork of any game I've seen so far
Nice game and visuals. Camera movement needs work. Maybe use cinemachine to tweak it?
Funny. Maybe would work better if the vortex was growing rather than shrinking
Great atmosphere. I'm amazed by the fact that this game had an opening scroll and so much plot!
Nice entry!
Reminds me of good ol classic Battle.net Starcraft
I'm astounded you had the time to slot in dialogue, interaction, and a minimap into this game in such a short amount of time. Great job!
Loved the music, graphics, and especially the minimalistic turret placement controls.
Pretty impressive amount of 3d assets in this game. I think the number of particle effects (and transparency) negatively impacts the framerate on the WebGL build fyi.
We had similar takes on the theme! I even made a 3d model of the simpsons nuclear power plant for my game! I loved the graphics!
This is one of the top games I've played so far. Its very conceptually similar to my entry, but I feel Pixel Panic is much more polished and well presented!
Very sophisticated mechanics. Well done!
Quite a bit of things to do for a compo game! Nice work!
I love the little pieces of artwork in the levels and the fact the character visibly ages as the game progreses.
This game needs to restart on death!
Interest concept
Impressive. This game is going to be one of the top ones for this LD
Loved the mood. I too made a reactor themed game.
The web version does not appear to load
Ah it works now. I think this might be the winning game. The most impressive part is the move solver. Did you use backtracking?
Nice art style
5 for audio, 5 for humor. Take the damn grammy son
Well made and atmospheric. The mood felt a lot like Portal
Atmospheric especially with the music, but really needs to be able to skip through the dialogue
@alextengu Did you try rescuing the wealthy people? I suppose the freedom of action is in deciding whether to maximize lives or maximize profit. The richer moneybags guys move slower on the ladder so you have to be more slow and thoughful when dropping the wealthy folks off. There's a tradeoff. The rating at the end differs depending on what you prioritized.
Very polished and great use of post processing and minimlism. Love the aesthetic
Brilliant idea. Never thought there was more room to innovate on tetris.
This game is pure juice. The particles, the time slowdown. Just polish all around. Great work!
Did not think of creating games with pure LLM requests and GenAI. Well done!
