Fun concept and great mechanics. It took me the better part of the first play through before I realized I could wall jump. I did have some issues picking up some of the objects up higher for some reason, but all in all I would play again :)
One of the best games that I saw for this ludum. Definitely the highest score in all categories.
The WebGL seems to have a movement bug for me where the character moves incredibly slow. Way too slow to get more than a few food items before the time limit, but at random will get tiny bursts of speed. (Linux Firefox)
So next I tried the Linux standalone. Even though I can get into the game by pushing buttons, once the game starts, the linux version doesn't respond to ANY controls at all.
Finally I brought it over to my Windows box, and tried the Windows standalone version and initially had the same result as the Linux version, but for some reason after the second attempt at loading it, it started working and I was able to move at normal speed.
Outside of the technical issues, it's a cute game and an interesting concept. The pixel art is quite good, and the game controls well once I was able to get it working.
EDIT: I tried the WebGL version under Firefox for Windows, and the player was able to move normal speed. So the slow movement only seems to happen under Linux for me for some reason? Hopefully that helps.

I love the pixel art. The game is well in the theme. And I like the multitude of objects, and the details like you're putting slime when you touch walls ^^ But the action is repetitive and character difficult to control. (Changing speed) I'm stuck many times. Anyway, really a goo job for the jam. Congrat!
Very funny submission. The game is good polished. But form my point of view some moments in the level are a little bit too hard.

Pixelart is amazing! Also animations, visuals are just great. At first I didn't know whether the big blob eats what I gave him, maybe some sound as confirmation would be nice. But I figured it few seconds later so it's fine :) Great entry!

Love the animations, visuals, and music :) Had similar issue to others with the controls, movespeed, and throwing in browser.
Great graphics, fun core mechanics and easy to pick up quickly. I think it would help the movement a bit if you could stick or slide slowly down walls, would make the platforming in certain places a bit more forgiving. I like the small details like the slime trails you leave behind and the slowly growing slime mama as she absorbs the food.
Really fun idea! Love the aesthetics and character design. The only thing which bothers me is the movement, it sometimes is fast and responsive but other times is super slooow, hope this is a bug you will patch in a post-jam update or as a hottfix

I had issues with movement being really slow and then occasionally fast as people have already commented. I'm guessing here, but it might be that the movement speed is based on the framerate (would explain why the webgl version suffers more than the others). The fix might be as simple as multiplying the movement speed by Time.deltaTime/Time.fixedDeltaTime in Unity and then adjusting the speed accordingly to ensure it moves at the same speed regardless of framerate.
Worked a little slow for me at the start but then after reloading it worked like a charm. Lovely game with amazing sound effects and graphics. Loved the idea!
ok the visuals, I mean the graphics itself are awesome, I do notice a nice pixel art there with good animations, I do love the jumping and leaving behind some goo when doing so and getting goo on walls. The music is really nice and goes perfect with the game. The level design is also really good, I would have like a little of "intro" on the game as per what is happening.... but that is just me personally.... as to have a kind of backstory or something on why there is a big soldier wanting to kill me and the other goo.... also double check on collision, you could put a material of "slipperiness" on the character so it sometimes not get stuck on corners

Very nice visual style and coherency. I found it a little difficult to jump onto platforms but I might just be bad at platformers haha. I also like the detail you put into your Itch page.
Very nice ! You should maybe have some velocity inertia on the jump to make it more precise. But the concept and the execution is very good

Absolutely satisfying gameplay! The (possibly cleste inspired?) graphics and audio are cute and very well polished, but what really makes this game stand out is the satisfying platforming physics. I would absolutely play a longer game with those. Also very well done difficulty wise. It took me a couple of tries to beat it - challanging enough to tempt me into trying till I got it, but not so harsh that it got annoying =)
One of the best games i played here. Well done !! graphics is amazing and smooth gameplay. Jump can be adjusted a bit as its easy initially but i am knit picking here. Enjoyed it :)
Im very impressed by how much you guys managed to do in such a small time! Everything is drawn and animated so well, everything feels responsive, and movement legitimately feels fun! This game just does everything right, keep at it guys! Keep it up!
Really nicely put together! The aesthetic is nice, though like others have said the controls are a bit slippery at times - especially the throw button for me, I'd try and throw something and quickly turn around only to throw it in the wrong direction. The physics also made throwing stuff a little unpredictable at times. Overall though, really strong entry!
Super cute games! I like the movement, very Super Meatboy-esque. The controls seem a little strange (I would have opted for arrow keys and z/x), maybe an option to change or switch them. I also found the level design to be a little cumbersome, and not necessarily in a fun way.

WOW!! This game is fantastic! It's so well done, funny and just feels so.. whole! It's amazing what you managed to do in this short amount of time! The controls feel nice and smooth, graphics and sprites are beautiful and the topic is spot on! Music and sounds really complimented the whole thing even more. Really really enjoyed it. Also it was a decent challenge :) After I figured out I could do a wall jump I was so hyped haha (Maybe also mention that in the tutorial, unless you want for that to be a hidden secret or something?) Anyway, nice work! The ending cinematic had me laugh haha. so epic ;) I rate your game 5/5 and hopefully you continue working on it? :)

Definitely a fantastic entry. :) I loved the graphics and animation. Play was smooth if a little less than responsive at times.
Very impressive work. The pixel art is excellent, in fact, the whole thing is very well polished. The music is good and the blob plays well.
The only real problem is the difficulty. I found the stash of food above the mama blob and that went some way to filling the bar but I couldn't manage to feed her enough no matter how hard I tried. I think I got to about 80% of the bar.

Fun Little Romp. Loved the effort put into the end cutscene, even though it could have been a little more polished. Wish There were food transport systems or a way of bringing food back in bulk to help emphasise exploring because when you can only bring one food item back at a time its hard to justify going far out when you will waste precious time on one food item.

Cute game! Throwing things down to pick them up later felt fun and flowed naturally from the game.
The movement felt very nice, however, I thought it was tough to fill the bar since you could only carry one piece of food at a time. Loved the art too. Overall, I really enjoyed it!

I found the first water jump to be difficult because of the low ledge. If it was a little higher it would really help, especially for the beginning of the level.

This was very clever. Enjoyable to play and well presented. Great attention to detail with things like the slime goop that the player leaves behind on the surfaces he touches. Maybe as a punishment for dying, the mama slime could use up some of her strength to respawn you. Great job!
This was a fun game to play! It's so simple yet so satisfying to just lob objects everywhere and the art style is cute. I especially liked the animation for when Mama Slime respawns the Baby Slime. Very nice!

Loved the music and art style. I couldn't get enough food to the big slime in time sadly. Since you have the physics based food, there could be some cool mechanics you could have with bouncing / sliding stuff off things , if you make more levels post LD.
I love the art style , the cuteness. I love the slime effects. the controls felt really fun just to move and jump. Also I love food so naturally I love this game haha. But I am not that great haha. I couldn't save slime mama and I was so sad.

What a game! Cool graphics and animations, great music and nice gameplay! Also the dead animation it's really nice. It costed me a little bit to figure out that I could double jump, but the game is amazing, very well polished and fun. Really good job.
I love the concept of this one; getting to pick up random food and chuck it into Slime Mama's mouth sounds like fun! I did however notice some really strange inconsistency with the movement; I either took an age to accelerate (sometimes to the point of not even moving despite multiple key presses) and sometimes I would just run off really fast. I don't know if that's because I'm playing the web build and there are some issues there but it made things like wall jumping basically impossible.
There is definitely The End Is Nigh / Super Meat Boy inspirations in both the character and the tiles with a goo state. The music fit nicely. I'm dissapointed at the movement; I hope that it is an issue with the web build and not something built into the game itself. All in all very cute! the art and everything is good gameplays good but my biggist probblem is the backgrounds, they kinda make the whole game feel very flat and has got a few smaller technical probblems when it comes to twitchy colisions and i think it could really do with just a small drop more of player feeedback overall ist not half bad.

WEBGL bug with movement :,(
For me, the most fundamental thing when it comes to a platformer is the perceived feeling of movement & fluidity you have. I think your game nail it on this aspect from many factors: - The music, up beat and high tempo just make me rush into action - The slime as a character gives you this mental model of slippery => perceived fluid - The control of the slime character itself: it accelerates pretty fast, it has a reasonable air time & control during air time, the almost immediate stop when release button. - The visible "count down" knight - The instant feedback of seeing mama (or should it be a child haha) grows instead of just a point system.
Other plus points to the gameplay: - Hidden interactions: you lost stickiness to the wall once you "paint" it with your slime => make future run super tight in term of wall jump execution. I had many replay where i instantly go to the top left (challenging platforming sequence but worth it) and see how many trips can i make before the eventual slime disallow me to do so. - Throw mechanic: i can technically go to the top, grab all the items, throw them down and then proceed to drop down to feed the mama. Make the game slightly more complicated in term of strategies. I.e i could make many short trip and enjoying the platforming or i could try a very challenging path but rewards with lots of food
I love the attention to details here! :thumbsup: I enjoy all the mini platformer games where it allows me to dissect & learn from the gameplay. Yours is one of them.
Loved the tossing of food. I am horribly at platformers but this sure was fun! I also loved the resapwn animation (yeah I saw that one a lot). Nice job

Nice game! We had a lot of fun playing it. The throw mecanic works really well and the platforming was a blast! I could not manage to feed the slime to the max, so I've only seen the bad ending (twice). :D

Well made and fun game! Graphics and audio are cool. However, I only managed to get the slime fed to 3/4 so I lost but it was fun so I enjoyed playing it despite this (sign of a good game). Controls were good and the gameplay was smooth and responsive (may I suggest bigger hitboxes for picking up the food though, sometimes it was hard when you were moving to push 'E' at the right time). Overall, really good entry for this Jam!

Great execution here and having the little slime leave slime wherever he walks is just neat. It has a great amount of polish. I guess my only critique is that I felt like the little slime moved a bit too quickly when jumping and trying to land with precision. However, I'm sure that would become less of an issue the more I played. The little cutscenes for win and lose conditions were just so cool. Excellent work. It is such a cute and well-done game.
This game is just plain fun. I love the way the slime spreads on the floor while walking! I also really like the cut scene type things that kinda tells a story. I throw Campbell Soup at Mama belly. Mama like.

Pretty fun game. I liked every part about it except for the water hazards. I feel like this game could have been more fun without the water hazards.
Really enjoyed the game, tried to beat it 6 times but couldn't even after finding the hidden stash!! Well made though really enjoyed it, would love to see it beaten though haha!!

I did have a few issues with the controls when jumping left and right, it's hard to describe but there was something that just felt wrong? Like the position, speed, turning, handling. Just something in that area compared to the rest of the controls was just a bit off.
The game was really fun, I enjoyed the different things I slowly learned my slime could do. The storyline worked well with the concept of the game, though not sure where all the food came from originally XD Maybe throwing in small animals and woodland creatures might have seemed like too much!

The game was AWESOME! It is super hard though because there is a jump where you hit the ceiling so in order to get to the other side, you have to jump at the right time.
The slimes were so cute 😭 Took me a few attempts but I eventually defeated the hero! It's a great big level with lots of options to find food in. Was fun figuring out my route to get the most food in time! I also liked the cutscenes, a nice touch! Great entry! well done!

it is to be appreciated the time and effort that you put into this game. the graphics are really cool, the music is definitely fitting for the feel of the game. i love playing such games, but this one in particular is pretty hard and i kinda lost interest because i wasn't even close to finishing the game. overall, loved this, but i wish it would have been a little bit easier.

Great game! Fantastic graphics and sound, and some nicely implemented mechanics (the wall jumping controls felt really good). I particularly like the visuals for respawning: very clever way to make respawing make sense in the context of the game. I also like how respawning becomes a mechanic, since you can travel far away, throw a load of food back towards the start, then respawn to collect it.
I was unable to defeat it despite several tries. I suspect I was missing something tactically... Took me a little while to realise just how far you could throw things, so I was being a bit inefficient initially. But even when I resolve that I still struggled to get past about half strength.

Pretty fun, but very hard. The best I could manage was 40% of the bar filled. I do like how you respawn from the mama slime. The throwing mechanic with the slime on the ground was interesting, but it didn't always work properly. So, I often still had to walk closer to mama anyway. It also took quite some time before I discovered the mechanic in the first place. Also, jumping with W would have been nice. I didn't check for grace jumping, but definitely add that as well (if it isn't in the game already).
