LD38 — A Small World

Grall Axy by LooksLikeSomething 2017-05-04T21:36:50Z

This felt very complete and balanced. I liked those annoying little features that made it harder to repel the comets, also it somehow sets a contrast to other LD entries. I think it's great that you created a tutorial but it would have been nice if the other features (like those warp pads) also would have been explained. The first time I got teleported I was really confused

Overall very good job

Monochrome Perspectives by Funkensteins Monster 2017-05-06T07:30:47Z

This could have been so great! I loved the graphics and music used. The overall gameplay is also nice but unfortunately, I couldn't interact with the space key. First I thought I may be of the web player but after running the windows build I ran into the same issue. As I could not interact, I could not collect those gems and progress =|

So overall a really great game with a lot potential, especially for such a short period of time but there are a bunch of bugs that needs to be fixed.

Orchardstra by CyberStarLight 2017-05-08T18:09:50Z

Clicked on the entry because I saw the undertale avatar - don't regret it^^ This one is really innovative! Although I randomly hammered the seeds into my planet I was appropriately pleased with the result

It would have been great if there was a caption explaining which seed produces which sound, but besides that I truly enjoyed this entry. Great job :)

A small world by CoderDozer 2017-05-02T17:06:46Z

Like most of the people here, I was a bit surprised when the game so suddenly ended^^ But overall you created a complete experience with story, sound and I truly liked the message you delivered

Bad Panda 2 by Pandakipu 2017-05-06T06:50:51Z

48h no time for sidequests :D Very funny game and cool boss fight. The hitboxes sometimes feel ridiculous but besides that a truly enjoyable experience. Good job :)

Raven Delivery Service by DDRKirbyISQ 2017-05-08T17:33:31Z

Multiplayer games are rare in ludum dare and this one is truly enjoyable. Alle the different level designs really made sense and were fun to play. At the end of each level I missed the "achievement screen". The level ended and I was thrown back to the level selection. But for this short amount of time, you sure created a lot of content! Good job and thank you

World Tours by Mathiouza 2017-05-08T17:57:46Z

Great job! Although the graphics and controls are not over the top, it was just fun to play and you inserted a very humorous ending  Furthermore for only 16h this is pretty impressing. Good job and thank you :)

Unnamed Space Project by Devastus 2017-05-02T20:35:39Z

First of all: cool 3d graphics :sunglasses:

I like the idea of supporting your towers in the defense by shooting the enemies yourself. The game would profit from some sound effects as the background music alone gets a bit repetitive after some time^^ The difficulty heavily depends on the placement of the crystals and spawn point, which is not bad but can be very irritating.

Overall you did a great job end the game is definitely a success for such a short time of development:slight_smile:

A small World à la No Man's sky by lavwa 2017-05-04T20:22:39Z

I was not able to find my home planet :disappointed_relieved: I tried a couple of times but always run out of fuel. The game itself is really great and challenging. There are so many different resources! The controls could be improved as they feel a bit sluggish sometimes, but for only 72h they turned out pretty good. Furthermore, I found it very troublesome that the fuel lowered even when I was on a planet's surface or not moving.

Altogether very well done and I like it far better than No man's sky!

Pluto is a Planet by TolMera 2017-05-04T20:50:57Z

Pluto is a planet! 5b7c0f755996c8b3b2dcada5b71d82f9.png

Your game remembered me of this little guy from Rick & Morty  Liked the overall gameplay and that you gave the player the choice to control the fights or just click 'auto resolve'. Imho you could speed the game up by 9999% but besides that it was fun to play^^

good job

Super Collapse Guy by crazi456 2017-05-04T21:10:55Z

Really nice game and the first time I encountered one of the enemies with a knife tied to its head, I couldn't help but smile  I love the details and the effort put in the cover art (and graphics in general). The game mechanics resemble those of FEZ but with a personal touch that make them different. I truly liked this entry, well done :)

The End and the Beginning by Zitao YE 2017-05-01T19:55:53Z

The music in combination with the text and the quotes delivered quite the atmosphere - I really liked that! It would have been great if there also were some sound effects (e.g. when you hit an enemy). The controls felt a bit strange and bulky. I really liked that there was this big boss tank on my second playthrough! I always enjoy it when there is unexpected new content.

In the end I have to say I don't really know what was going in in this game  but besides that I really enjoyed playing it. Good job :)

Core Breakdown! by Firstdream 2017-05-02T16:45:46Z

I had a rough time with the spider challenge^^. I didn't know what to do after I finished the two challenges? I tried to fix the spaceship but I was told that I was still missing parts - the sheep guy and the spider guy both just thanked me for my help and all the other NPCs also didn't want to give me the missing part. Not sure if I missed something or if this was a bug. Last but not least, the game crashed in the middle of a dialog on my first play.

But besides the issues I had, I enjoyed the minigames and the story. Overall the game felt complete, which is a very good thing. Next time try to add some audio as this will put some live into your game :) good job

Destruction Zone by Chronosv2 2017-05-01T18:37:14Z

This game gets hard pretty fast if you don't manage to grab some good upgrades early :D I like the challenge and the idea of the shrinking map. Enemies from the top were much harder to destroy before they reach a tower than enemies that came from the bottom as you can see them not as early. Overall very good job :)

Horizons by Joseph Benton 2017-05-02T20:10:19Z

first of all no loading issues here ;) I think it is really cool that you managed to create so 5 levels plus and even had the time to make a tutorial. The level design is good and clear and especially the fifth stage was pretty challenging.

The character slips sometimes around and doesn't stand stable on the planets, which sometimes caused the problem that he just floated away without me clicking the jump button^^ In Summary great game, keep going

Grow Little Planet by jin47 2017-05-02T16:56:52Z

That was an enjoyable little game. I was always curious how the next evolution of the planet would look like :) Could have been a bit more challenging but besides that great job

Mr. Fishy's Small World by SheepTree 2017-05-02T15:56:28Z

omg, that was really funny :joy:

I had to play this a couple of time to make sure I didn't miss anything. I liked the various endings and the relaxing music (although it is a bit repetetive after some time^^)

Dispyria by Tat2Tim 2017-05-02T19:38:29Z

love the retro style! This game feels like playing an old NES game again :smirk:

The music and sounds, as well as the graphics, emphasize the retro theme very well. I also think it's great that you had the time to create things like keys and bosses.

Overall a very enjoyable experience  great job

ZEUS VS MOLES by Fouralex 2017-05-01T20:16:28Z

How can Zeus dislike such cute moles?! :astonished:

Honestly a really good game. It feels complete and makes a lot of fun to play. On my first play, I thought I have to hit the moles until they disappear which was just cruel ^^

Down the Rabbit Hole by those-30-ninjas 2017-05-05T17:29:58Z

Really cool innovative game! I had to restart a lot but never managed to finish^^ Is there an end? Except for the first level the level are random, I guess? Because of this, I was able to see a lot of content without playing through every level a hundred times

Overall: Really Awesome! Please make more games

It's square to be a cube by Khorm 2017-05-02T18:19:34Z

The concept with the growing/shrinking levels is really innovative and you managed to create a good bunch of levels! The level design overall was pretty good and some of the stages offered quite the challenge ;) The only thing that really grinds my gears are the controls. They take some time to get used to and in the **last level** the cube got stuck in the wall (but as I really enjoyed the concept I started over and finished the game).

But overall you did a really good job

Battle for the Last (small) World! by Sniperninja564 2017-05-06T07:11:52Z

Unfortunately, I wasn't able to play the game )= I received this error message ass soon as I tried to Start the game from the MainMenu (Story/Intro was working):

Shovel vs deforestation by chispaLBC 2017-05-02T20:49:04Z

Nice little game with cute graphics. Good job for your first entry :) I think after I reached Level 17 there were no new UFOs. I'm not sure if this was the actual end but at least I was safe and managed to secure 4 trees

FUEL by KCreanor 2017-05-01T21:39:05Z

Great job! The controls are easy to learn and I had a lot of fun playing. The new elements in the later levels are great and fit perfectly into the gameplay. You should really add some more content after the jam - at least I would be happy to get to play some more :)

Natural Killer Prototype by kr4ft3r 2017-05-01T19:35:39Z

I liked the mood and the controls were smooth and suited the game. With the hints at the bottom and top of the screen, it was possible to understand how everything works but it still was far from easy

At one point in the game, I wasn't able to attach to other cells anymore. I'm not sure if this was my fault or a bug but from this point on I just waited until everything was infested^^ Overall nice job and unlike most other LD games you could even learn something by playing this game. =)

Den by La mecanique du plastique 2017-05-02T16:19:10Z

Looks great and was fun to play. Also checked out your website and watched some of your videos - loved them ;)

Tiny Hadron Collider by clegamecoop 2017-05-08T17:40:47Z

Really nice game. Unfortunately, I could only play it on desktop - I think this must be quite fine to play on a mobile device :) good job

eiland by rubna 2017-05-01T19:06:55Z

The graphics are very simple but fit perfectly into the scenery. This was really a nice little puzzle game :) Only real problem for me was that on the second start of the game all of the birds fell into the water like they were dead and drifted (with the key) on the island. They didn't move for the rest of the game even after a new island was generated. Overall awesome game, great sounds, and the atmosphere is very nice

LD44 — Your life is currency

Mine Corp. by Hadik 2019-05-01T21:00:30Z

Ughh, humans are the WORST, right? :D real sweet game! I liked the art style very much, it was also challenging and at the end quite overwhelming, but that's what those games aim for, to see how long you can keep going ;) I liked the different types on enemies and weapons, maybe if you continue to work on it, make a sound indicator when which weapon is ready/when you get a new one, or upgrades :) Also, maybe splitting the enemies up in waves would be fitting! Good job overall, I enjoyed playing it :)

Slaves of the Carribean by chriiis88 2019-05-01T20:37:52Z

The gameplay reminds me of FTL. I really enjoyed playing your game. Once I got the hang of the ship controls I was unstoppable  even played until day 70!

Worked to Death by ronin748 2019-05-02T15:58:31Z

Nice idea, had fun playing. graphics were cute too. had no idea to how run the game at first haha I felt like the controls were a bit too fast, and about the soul thing I feel like good soulds should be green and bad ones red, and the colour thing can be applied to the humans so you get rewarded when you know th right numbers by not having wasted time running to the wrong people, you know what I mean?

Overall, a really good job! you can be proud of yourself! :)

Proton by Greg Lord 2019-05-01T20:21:29Z

Such a nice cute sci-fi game! love it :) Great animation and attention to detail. The previously added music also is pretty sweet btw (also the added new cam if I noticed correctly? seemed better afterwards?)

I just seem to be stuck on the third level :( The one with the conveyer belts. Once I walk over the last belt it takes 2 energy points and right before the eyit I'm 1 point too short. Maye look into that, I can totally see that as a nice fun smartphone puzzle game :) Overall good job, you can be proud of yourself! :)

FHART by Zaphire 2019-05-01T21:31:38Z

hahaha! What a great game!! I like the idea that you can only kill them when they're close and behind you, so its more challenging than just hitting them in the front or even ranged, because you gotta time it right, and of course the theme is funny as hell :D The graphics look veeeery sweet, I really like that light setup/render and you even added water! (Jut weird that the webplayer doesnt let me fullscreen your game? weird) The best thing about it is obviously the sound design ;)

Good Job!

Calienows by fatPenguin 2019-04-30T19:50:44Z

Thank you! :D We're glad you like it!

Hmm, that's strange.. and straight going to the list of bugs we hpefully will fix soon ;) Hope you enjoyed playing nevertheless and thanks for checking it out! :)

Calienows by fatPenguin 2019-04-30T21:31:32Z

@raffe Thank youuu! :D Hehe, I know the feeling but I did it as well, the trick is to pretend to just be better than Player 2.. :-) Thanks again! You have to try it with another person, we tried to do it so the 2 players will battle for the first cow at the most obvious and nearest sport for both :D ]:)

Calienows by fatPenguin 2019-05-01T20:44:08Z

@PixScope Thank you! :D Mooo! :3 Did you enjoy the sounds? ;D

@slotha: Thank you so much! :D Yeah agreed I also played it a couple time by myself, haha :D and agreed, we wanted to continue working on it and have so much more ideas :D maybe even different quests with other objectives! Who knows.. :) Glad you liked it!

@Zaphire: Thank you! :D appreciate it!

Calienows by fatPenguin 2019-05-02T16:01:26Z

@Lakrits: flaw!? I'm sure you meant to write "feature".. :D yeah the farting sound is meant to be the ship sound hehe, sorry :D glad you liked it overall :D and yeah, the mute button is kinda like.. yeah.. show off ;)

@koalaura thank youuuu! :D Just do it next time someone is around hehe. don't even give them a choice (that's what I told family and friends when I sent them the link to our game :D) Hehe, I just asked our sound dude, but apparently not! I was pretty surprised, like you I thought he did them :D

Heart of the Grove by johnnydalvi 2019-04-30T18:29:52Z

Really a vey well designed game, pleasant colour schemes, soft light. The idea is pretty cool i ended up playing a few rounds ;) Humans are just the WORST arent they :D good job!! <3

A Life At Stake by JustMars 2019-04-30T21:45:19Z

Haha that was a fun little ride - thanks for that :D :D I love how youre able to bail out of jail for free if you're a guy but not as a woman  I feel like textbox choices would've also fit to the game without being too much work :) (like in Faster Than Light for example) Well done! ;)

Necroxeon by Lyrcaxis 2019-04-30T20:02:25Z

It's a well done game, the graphics and music are great and he controls feel natural :) I just found it a bit too hard but maybe thats just me, and also something easy to fix with tweaking numbers ;) What I personally didn't get at first, is that I need to drain life from the guys I killed :D I know for yourself it feels natural because you work on the game for so long but you know how dumb players are :P A little overlay text over the first corpse for a hint might help :) (and yes I know time is tight in a gamejam :D)

Overall a great game, I enjoyed playing it! :)

Robo Portrait by finalspace 2019-04-30T18:48:23Z

Wow, that was even more enjoyable than I thought it would be :D Originally came for the graphics. Really a sweet and fun thing you did there, definitley felt like a game! The graphics are cute and the gameplay is challenging but not frutrating, also the idea is very nice! :)

Infernum by slotha 2019-05-01T20:52:51Z

I really like the idea and style, and you even got a sweet story mode/cutscene :) also the dark atmosphere is cool :D I felt like playing a steam indie game. The actions weren't very clear to me to be honest and I just managed to get one ending? But overall a nice LD entry :) Would be cool if you'd keep working on it!

King's Alchemist by Vlad Dae 2019-04-30T19:54:58Z

Great game, Overcooked vibes here which I like ;) The graphics are cute and good to read :) Overall a great gamejam outcome! Well done!

Transfert by p0nce 2019-04-30T18:04:34Z

Really unique graphics, kinda dreamy and weird, but in a goo way. Musi/sound emphasizes the overall atmosphere. gameply is really tricky, definitley felt like a game. After several playthroughs I finally made it through the first rough spot and then I gave up I gotta admit lol. Overall a great game for one person and the Idea is really cool that only part of your character can get hit. :)

Altar by Alexascher 2019-05-01T20:32:43Z

WOW! I really like this game, I'm glad I gave it a shot! Really enjoyed playing it. The controls are cool, just a tad bit too slidy for me, maybe work on that if you even play to continue working post-LD at all :) The graphics and setting is beautiful and looks great! The hitting was kiiiinda weird, as in I wasnt sure when I even dealt damage, maybe a little indicator, like a red overlay would help with that?

Overall a really great job and I can just recommend you use more images for your LD post. I think another post with a gameplay gif or really just more screenshots from ingame would work wonders, I think you'd get much more views this way :)

UnderBreak by MlleAB 2019-05-02T14:58:04Z

Great Visuals and music, very pretty, pixels art voices and dialogue gave me an undertale vibe, (which is GOOOOD) The camera folloed the player quite nicely. well done! Story was cool and I loved the cutscenes, I was actually super curious what was going to happen.

Now to the only and big flaw imo: The controls were however a pain the ass, sorry to put it that way. I think it might help if one control would be the dominant one, keyboard or mouse. I'd say use the keyboard and then with the mouse you can rotate your upper body for like max 180 degrees? it felt really weird that you run backwards and at the last level the controls didn't seem to do what I wanted. Overall great job for a gamejam and I love the level of detail you put into it! :)

Hot Mess by aameliebernardd 2019-05-01T21:18:14Z

Oh hey, I saw your art stuff on instagram! :D veeeeery pretty!!!

Sadly I cant play the game, as its a unity download file?

Looks veeery cool in the video though, very rougelike, binding of isaac vibes :) The characters look very well done and with a great attention to detail, good job!! The music supports the rest of the game quite nicely. :) Well done!

Sacrifice by michaelaranda 2019-05-02T16:12:18Z

When I first made it to the end I didn't know what to do so I went back and killed the rest of the monsters. After that I went back to that altar and realized I just had to use E again ^^

Overall great game - good job

Seeds Of Life by PixScope 2019-05-01T20:25:29Z

Sweet little game, cute carrot, looked like an undertale character to me :D I gotta say I was not compleeetely sure about the harvest life thing I just keep shooting enemies for 1 minute until I was dead, but it was decent and challenging, also good balance of enemies and the controls feel natural :) Well done!

MONGR by minor_gods 2019-05-01T20:41:18Z

haha, I love it :D I love every overcooked-ish game though <3 this ones really cute and fun and the humans look really sweet lol. :) Only thing that I might critizie is that a as a bit overwhelmed at first what to do and a little introduction would surely help; but then again this is a gamejam entry, ain't nobody got time for that :D Oh I also liked that one human has several ingredients to offer bt you gotta choose and you dont know at first which human has what :) Overall good job, I like it! The texts and names are also hilarious :D

Face to Death by pequenodev 2019-05-02T15:46:56Z

good job, idea and graphics, coins look very cute! However, I felt the game was a bit unforgiving, when an enemiy tackles you youre pretty much done. Would be nicer if it just took something of your health or something. maybe work on that a little bit more. About the mail menu some guys mentioned, to me this is a game jam, main menus are super nice to have, but not a must to me. :)

LD45 — Start with nothing

Placeholder by PoV 2020-04-22T14:27:35Z

Oh rats, I came here to make a witty joke about "such a kewl game, teehee :B" just to see I would probably only be the 834928347th who thought of that ^^ and you didn't even make one for this jam :( Still: hey, cool graphics and idea, check out our game as well ;)

LD46 — Keep it alive

Princess Ribbon by Goutye 2020-04-25T14:26:50Z

One of the most fun and enjoyable LD games I've ever played! Fells very polished and finished. The idea is cute, the music simplistic and nice. And so much levels! I got stuck at Level 7 or so and got frustrated, but I'll be definitely come back for more :D and I'll show it to my boyfriend, most of the time he's better in gaming than I am ^^ Very very good job, especially considering you did this on your own! Btw, you should make a webbuild, then you'd have even more players, some people are irresponsibly lazy ;) also, it's a failrpoof way of sending this to mums and dads to try it out xD They can be quite irritated with the whole zip shenanigans ^^ I could very well see this game being played on smartphone or tablet, the controls would work very well! If you continue to work on it, maybe make it so that when the player dies it's immediately Game Over? :)

Princess Ribbon by Goutye 2020-04-25T15:00:24Z

@goutye NO WAY I SHALL NOT SKIP!!! ^^ Oh shoot, webplayers can be a pain in the ass right :/ I still hve to add one for our game but not until I adjusted the light for it ^^ Id rather have someone not play our game because hes a lazy ass then putting a webbuild out there that looks ugly! So I get your point ;) Duly noted and that's how I immeadiately took it and found it funny :) however, I didn't mean it as in "Hey the princess lived but you died so game over anyway", I actually thought that was cool because it allowed for real superhero kamikaze moves :D I simply meant as in making it more enjoyable for the player, you know those creatures are easily annoyed ;) what you could also do is that as soon as the player dies the princess falls from the rope :) (if she is still on the rope, therefore probably wouldn't make it anyway)

Alien Operation by joemid 2020-04-28T20:34:52Z

Ahhh!!! This looks so awesome, I love this unique artstyle! I was immediately fascinated by the story! But alas! The operaton table! The operation tableeeee!!! Wayyy to realistic (as in, I would never be able to keep anything alive) so frustrating :( I want mooooore! Please tell me what to do! It only says "cute here" and I tried to, only killed the alien and triggered the ending scene, and that was it :( A real shame, I thought everything else was splendid, I seriously want to play this game now :D (but like with a superlong story with twists etc :)) good job for a gamejam! The voice acting was also really really good, I coudn't believe you did this yourself! (Most gamejammers own voice recordings.. are npticeable as that and I myself very likely couldn't do it at all, because I would probably end up giggling all the time, lol.)

Alien Operation by joemid 2020-05-06T11:24:24Z

@joemid hehe.. glad I could be of help, or something ^^ As for the voice acting offer.. boy, will you regret having said that ;) nyahshahaha <3

Bob and Plantboy by Pete 2020-05-06T14:02:04Z

Good job, really a great entry! I loved the idea that you always have to return to the sun to recharge some energy :) (I know I know for the plant, but strictly gameplay-wise speaking, it doesn't matter :)) The graphics were cute and looked very polished! Truly a great achievement for a gamejam! I'd add a controller support for the post-jam version if I were you, would make the whole thing much more intuitive and comfy to play (for example I almost never used the dodge, because with a keyboard it's much more awkward, while a controller is designed towards the shape of your hands and makes reacting more intuitive :)) I'd also add Levels (I know, never enough time with a gamejam ^^) like you have to go to a certain point, or maybe the goal could be to make the light go to a certain point? maybe you have to obtain something to place it somewhere so the sunray moves to the next checkpoint or something? Also I think some feedback to give the plant more sun would be nice, like some noise or something :) It would also be cool if the plant maybe wouldn't die as quick, but the more health the plant has, the more advantage you have (like your shots or speed or something) but when it's below a certain percentage the player notices a disadvantage Again, great achievement for a gamejam, you can be proud of yourselfes :)

Rude Bear Gotchi by alexrose 2020-05-02T11:03:57Z

It was disturbing to find out that you can feed your bear its own turds but also very funny at the same time. I like this tamagotchi desktop overlay approach. Overall very nice entry =)

Fueled by Fire by Scornz 2020-05-10T11:12:07Z

Very cool entry! :) graphic-wise this is really good, made for a great mood together with the music! I really really really enjoyed your tutorial and that you did one in the first place :) I feel like the hitting could have given away a bit more feedback as it took me a long time to realize it even does anything - at first I thought it's just to push the enemies back, I didn't notice it does damage, maybe add like blood drops particles, or like idk.. dark fragments or even fire sparks or something? :) The current feedback sound when you hit the enemies tbh made it seem to me more like the they blocked my hit or something like that, therefore leaving me to think I can't do damage. The Jump n Run aspect about it was fun, especially with the double jump! :) All in all I didn't know what my main objective was so I just ran around and killed enemies and tried to stay alive as long as possible - which together with the highscore I concluded is the main goal :) I'm mentioning that because I think the mood and artstyle of this game are really pretty and made me feel like there could be a deeper story and world behind all this, which you could maybe implement if you decide you want to continue working on this ;D Good job, congrats von finishing your game! :)

How the hell did you get so much feedback and almost no votes for others? 0: LD is weird.. anyway, nice game and cool graphics :)

Fox! Hen! Bag! by 0x01F0 2020-05-05T16:49:21Z

Sweet little entry! :) Sadly I've known the solution already as this riddle was once in a kid's book I've read, I would have loved to try to figure it out with your sweet game <3 the graphics were very cute, the lighting plus mood was very well chosen and made for really beautiful colours and the animations were extremely cute! :)) Controls were smooth, I didn't notive any bugs I would have centered the story text at the beginning in the middle of the screen because I always had to have my eyes travel between both corners of the screen because the assets we're catching my attention ^^ It would have been really sweet if you've added a camera dolly while telling the story, zooming onto the fox as he is mentioned etc, but I guess you didn't have enough time as this is a gamejam entry ^^ Would be cooler if the cablecar ride would have been skipable or if you don't want that, make it move a bit faster :) Another last tip: When you enter the build window and go to the settings, you can add a small image to be used as little icon for the application .exe instead of the unity logo, doesn't take long but makes the whole thing feel more like a "real game" :D you can also add your "game studio" logo to be shown upon start there if you want :) Overall great work, good job on finishing your game! :)

I am your Dead by Akelliona 2020-04-26T21:03:14Z

Hi that game looked really sweet and I liked the premise (Puzzle Game that looks like a dungeon crawler) however I was really confused at first, but I understand that gamejam games are never finished ^^ Good job on making this game :) You should work on it to make the most out of it, as others stated this is very promising!

Unicorn by JacksGamesSucks 2020-05-02T12:11:52Z

That was sooooo cute, I love that you did a game with your kids! Best dad ever! <3 I hope you keep doing stuff :D as for the gameplay it was a biiiit too punishing at times, but maybe you and your kids were going for that "Dark Souls" Vibe ;P Controls were smooth, maybe add a controller support, and keep working on that, have your kids draw all the assets! :D unicorngame_cuuute.jpg

Trap-o-mancy by karreg 2020-05-05T18:24:06Z

Wow, what an innovative and fun concept! I really enjoyed playing for a good 20 minutes that and I can see myself returning to that game :D The music and sounds were well made and really added to the mood, the gameplay was sooo fun! :) This can very well be made into a mobile game I think! :) Real fun! :) The characters looked funny hehe, although it would polish the whole graphics a bit if you want to continue to work on that :)

I was esepcialy proud of this situation ^^ fortuneteller.jpg

A bit of input if you further work on it: Make a tutorial stage and do levels and gradually introduce more cards, in the beginning it can be sort of overwhelming and you don't want to scare new players away now would you :) It was sometimes frustrating that you couldn't change the laid down cards afterwards, however I see why you would do that (make the player remember the cards etc) May I suggest a different approach? In the first levels/tutorial I'd make it so the player can still swap all cards to get a feeling for the game and not immediately having to remember cards already :) Since death, that little fucker can screw everything up, I would let the player (if the Death card turns up) either choose one card he can swap, or make the swaps cost something (coins, health or ingame purchases if you wanna be a jerk lol - seriously though please don't do that gameplay ruining EA crap D:) I know death is meant to be a shitty card, but wouldn't it feel super awesome if you can come up with a solution to get out of this situation instead of "well it's fucked now anyway, whatever I do doesn't matter" which will have a higher chance of doing so if the player gets to swap a card and he still has to think what to do, so it's a challenge :) Also, I can be a real dummy at first so I didn't understand the values at all - I thought the HP and coins on the side were MY HP and coins - still your game fascinated me long enough to keep going until I got it, lol. I know, I know, you wrote "goal" over it and everything, but players can be idiots xD So maybe make a little tutorial text explaining that you start with zero and have to earn those in one round for your customer :)

Again, great game, good job and congrats on finishing your game :)

Me And My Bat by zguba 2020-04-22T18:45:59Z

yay, finally a platformer! :D funny idea and I liked the "soft" cartooney graphics! I'm also celebrating peope that rigged a character over the course of a gamejam because that is hell ^^ (I did it as well haha) pure dedication ;P You might want to add gamepad controls, because I think those are basically MADE for platformers :D

Me And My Bat by zguba 2020-04-22T19:58:26Z

@zguba lol, what I huge dork I am, seems like I didn't plug it in properly or something, or has a defective contact (well, let's hope not :O) omg this is even better now! :D and jumping is waaaaay easier haha I love it! it makes you feel so awesome to be able to jump so high, I think it's a really cool concept that you're basically invincible but you have to always come back to this fragile and vulnerable thing to protect it :)

Might I suggest to explain the controls differently for, you know, dummies like me? :3 something like Controls: Controller (recommended): blabblabla Keyboard: blabla

it's a pity I almost missed this! good job! <3

How To Keep The Dance Floor Alive? Answer: Alcohol by ultrarat 2020-05-02T12:39:24Z

That was fun, I enjoy organisation games like that! :D Also the atmosphere is great with the bar and everything :)) You could also add sluping shots from someones bellybutton or something xD

Gameplaywise the Rum thing didn't make sense to me :( also It would have been nice to add a wastebin where yu throw away wrong orders, or if you could put down things on the counter at all :3 This can be a really funny game! :D if you decide to polish, maybe add actualy characters, can't say I don't enjy the unreal dummies, but... :P bonus points fr the cat image! :D Why don't you make the characters cats? :D They would probably then all order White Russians tho.. ^^

How To Keep The Dance Floor Alive? Answer: Alcohol by ultrarat 2020-05-05T19:05:25Z

@ultrarat hahahaha, thats amazing! Why didn't I think of that before? Now I feel like an idiot, I got these 2 furballs lying on my couch for nothing... ^^ hahaha! I like your creativity :D

And yeah gamejams, I knooooow time's never enough, it's so funny how you've come to arranging yourself and lowering your bar by the hour... at first there are so many "must-have"s for you and in the ending you're happy about every little shit you actually manage to do xD So much for your precious "standards" you had 3 days ago amirite ^^

Acorn City by testlab 2020-05-03T10:59:50Z

There is this one acorn where you have to jump at the end of a plank to reach it. On my first playthrough I tried this about 10 times, always failing and always running all the way back to the plank. After quitting and reading the comments I realized I can glide!!! What a gamechanger

Really great work for one person in that short amount of time. The information that the squirrel can glide would have been really helpful for me also after spending an eternity to find that last acorn I was hoping to get some kind of success message but these are really small issues.

Good job & thanks for your entry :)

Blood Oath by alexhonor 2020-04-24T14:38:36Z

Great pixel art and animations, the dash and attack looked and felt awesome, however, weird choice of buttons, I would have preferred A for attack and x for dashing, but maybe that's just me :) I felt like the beginning was too hard for a level one - I don't know what to do yet and there's already 4 enemies that I can't seem to kill easily? After dying for like 10 times I just rushed through and ignored them and was able to make it to the boss, who also looked awesome and had interesting attack patterns :)

All in all the game was a bit too hard, maybe I'm just too bad for it, I don't know ^^ I felt this can be really good if you'd start with a tutorial and slowly soothe into this world - start with one enemy and give you the change to defeat him and antriduce blocking afterwards etc :)

Still a great game with music and even an endboss, congrats on finishing your game! :)

Desert Decryptor by homeworld 2020-05-04T18:18:55Z

I really like the idea and art :D also the environment looks great! I just couldn't figure out what to do with the steak once I grabbed it? I ended up throwing it away and was annoyed lol. If the developers could shine some light on that I would love to try it out again and then vote on it :D cheers!

Nest Guard VR by Louspirit 2020-04-23T14:52:19Z

I think its really cool that you created a VR game! I played it with an OG Vive and it worked quite well. For the controls my Vive Controllers were not that great but as it was enough to just stand over the nest to defend the eggs, I didn't have to move much :)

Tiny Fragments by Daniel Moreno 2020-04-26T20:43:09Z

What an extremly well-done game! The idea is very innovative and cool, it makes you feel like a comic character is breaking the 4th wall :D And what a cute charakter at that.. :) I'm extremely impressed, this game is so beautiful, polished, smooth and finished and most of all, FUN! You've managed to come up with a couple of great puzzles there. and it's even a compo entry, I can't believe you did this by yourself in 48 hours O: I don't even know what kind of feedback to give as in what to improve, because I didn't really notice anything bad! Ofc you can always improve stuff like add even more features and assets ^^ That's one of those games that would make a great smartphone/tablet game, hopefully you continue to work on it as a little side project :) good job! p.s.: I didn't rate and comment with a hidden agenda because I genuinely enjoyed your game, but if you would maybe check out our game, we would be extremely happy about it ^_______^

Survivor by Hagge 2020-04-24T12:48:32Z

I really enjoyed this game! I felt it to be pretty well balanced, and I loved that you put a reminder as text what controls to use for what, I always am so confused when games have a bunch of controls and don't do that, and the arrow indicating where the car is was also great UI, the graphics are pretty, lighting adds a good mood and the idea is fun and fit the theme well :) (I know that's not a requirement for LudumDare, but still ^^) If you want to continue to work on it, I might have enjoyed a little hint where the trash is, like in witcher 1 when you press a button and see it highlighted or like a compass that roughly points you in a direction like in skyward swort oooor if you don't like that, maybe add a minimap where you can see at which places you've been before? then maybe make the trash respawn but like trash being more likely to be found in areas you didn't explore before or something (and make a minecraft like infinite world, where every 100 meters or so those trash selling places can be found) oh, also maybe add a subtle silent and minimalistic music, that can add a real touch to games like that and can put and emphasis to this sad "beautfy" of being lonely in a broken world :) there's a lot of great free stuff out there and the artists also enjoy the shoutout! :D

all in all a great entry, congrats for finishing your game! :)

Seafood by fatPenguin 2020-04-21T20:41:44Z

First of all, thank you all so much for taking your time to play comment and (hopefully ;)) rate <3 Will check out your games in return :)

@snory thanks for playing, yep the classic tutorial at the beginning.. ahh.. we thought if "Overcooked" can do it, so can we ;P

@DianaCalistru glad you like it, yep that needs more tweaking of colliders and a bit more control scripting to be perfect I think, glad you could still enjoy it :D

@Poupi thank you for your comment! The search for the fish was meant to be part of the fun, but maybe we could have made it a bit easier, sometimes you can really overlook them :)

@Flaviat hey there and thanks :) yes, we were pretty proud of your progress :D maybe you'd like to give it another try, we fixed some colliders because they were buggy (sometimes made the player fly away, lol) maybe you find them to be less obstacle-ly now :D

@DavidPeterWorks thank you, I'm glad you liked it. :)

@Marcelo Zoletti thanks for your feedback and the compliments, yep the colliders need more work so the movement isn't as jiggly :)

@fabula_rasa thanks you for the glowing review :D hehe.. I'm really happy we were able to meet your taste ;D you're probably one of the very few people who read the whole thing, thank you for that, this was a piece of poetry emerging at 2 A.M. in the morning, sort of directly before "shit, we don't have a name yet!!" xD yep, those underlings can be quite insubordinate indeed, kids amirite.. :| duly noted, and agreed! I swear, I'm having nightmares about Unity's UI Button settings.. grrrr :( Glad you still gave it a shot! Will make sure to check out your game too! :)

@URSUS yay! you Sir musst be an Uber Pro Gamer ;) Thank you! <3

@shaolin-dave thank you for playing our game, we appreciate it! <3 also thanks for the compliment on the character, glad you like the little bastard :D also thanks for the UI feedback - I have a 4K monitor and was bummed out as well ;) might I ask if you were still able to read everything though? :) (it would be a pity during the course of LD ratings if that wasn't possible for people with iMacs :3) Agreed on the Gamepad one! Or lets say halfly agreed - what if you want to target that specifix audience? :) I agree though that your keyboard controls should work decently, I've heard of people playing Meatboy on keyboards although that was definitely designed for gamepads, hehe, we will continue to work on the controls though! Thanks for the feedback!

Seafood by fatPenguin 2020-04-23T11:56:24Z

@shaolin-dave thanks for the answer! :) I think so too however I (Artist) don't know how hard it is to fix it, but you're right that should count as bugfix and not a feature :3) thanks for taking the time to answer!

@fat-cat thank youuuu :D yep, granted that was a last minute sound we needed for the event of the kids coming back to their momma - do you have a better idea for that? I still couldn't think of anythang haha

@yodoG thanks for playing our game! Yeah it still is a bit clunky but I think our setup is kind of soecific - 3D mit multiple colliders all over the place (which inevitably means a lot of "invisible edges" you can get stuck in) and an npc you drag behind you - time simply wasn't long enough, that little bastard! :D we want to rebuild the whole thing actually and also with completely new colliders and controllers, let's see how that goes :) I gotta say, your game looks amazing as well, I bookmarked it to play later :)

Seafood by fatPenguin 2020-04-24T18:48:16Z

@perfmouse-studios thanks for playing our little game :D what do you mean with "off"? too fast, or feeling a little weird like how it looked? :) thanks for you review! <3

Seafood by fatPenguin 2020-04-24T20:46:33Z

@perfmouse-studios thank you very much for the input, much appreciated :) I agree that the dash is too fast, and your ideas of additional indicators are definitely worth considering :D about the fish following: it's meant to be not "guaranteed" that they can follow you, but we plan to balance it better; in a nutshell as soon as you're having "followers" it's kind of a "risk" to dash: if done correctly, awesome. if it fails, it could worsen the situation for you (but based on skill, like when there's a straight line of view they can follow, if you dash when they are close to you they will be able to keep up and something like that, so that you have to estimate the situation correctly before you dash or something) Thanks again for playing our little game! :)

@vertuga32 Thank you, we're glad you like it :)

@gorypixels) aww, thank you so much for playing our game! We appreciate it (:

@maytch thanks, chris did the caustics together with all the cool particle and visual effects, also we added blue fog which together with the custics immediately made the whole thing look more underwater-y :)

Seafood by fatPenguin 2020-04-25T13:30:23Z

@alkis hi there and thanks for you kind words! We really appreciate it :) The music is awesome right? We found that free music online and immediately felt like it was made for our little game :D

Concerning your questions about the 3D assets Angie made, the programs used were Maya, zBrush and Substance Painter. (+ a bit oh Photoshop here and there). All assets started off in Maya with the Lowpoly (and Uv Unwrapping), then almost every one of them was then further detailed in zBrush for a Highpoly Mesh, which was then baked into the Lowpoly mesh using Substance Painter, and also textured there. The created Normalmap already added much, and the colours for the albedo map were painted directly onto the mesh, which Substance Painter is great for :) I've also made use of the countless generators and alpha brushes for detailing the other assets and to give them a bit of a surface structure.

I decided to make a little "tutorial" on how I did the "Coralpoufs" as I called them, hope it helps! :)

coralpouf_tutorial.png

Seafood by fatPenguin 2020-04-25T13:57:18Z

@alkis Thanks! :) This asset was actually pretty quick, it took 1-2 hours I think? Maybe 3 with implementing and wating to bake while going to grab a drink etc ^^) and then I had 2 assets :D All in all I just have 3 "special" assets (double the amount because colour variation 2 is created really quick) and the rocks, and then just place the prefabs inside of the level so they fit together :) Thanks for the compliment though! The detailing of the pouf was really easy, with the symmetry and the IMM brush it really was quicker than it looked! :)

Seafood by fatPenguin 2020-05-04T16:45:51Z

@mykola thank you very much for your feedback! :) Yep, the follower behaviour is something we're fighting with, it is such a complex thing also concerning colliders etc, we try to make it as in Pikmin :) For a gamejam this was just too much, especially considering all the other things youve got to do, hehe, but we really appreciate your input in that matter :) We're glad our game could give you a little joy, makes us very happy :)

@hernz Thank you thank you! :D Also for reporting the issues and bugs, we're trying to work on that and improve our game :) We're glad you liked our game, thank you for playing! :id:

@mrstari @eduardogacn @hiago-tadeu @zampi @jacksgamessucks Thanks so much for taking the time to check out our game <3

@lofiskyline15 Thank you! :) Yeah the development of follower behaviour is definitely something that suffered because of the extreme deadline and what we will further work on :) thanks so much for playing!

@wegpast thank you for trusting us ;) At first I was checking every game but after the like 24626438th I downloaded I simply opened it and hoped for the best haha! there should be some sort of LD security signature or something ^^ Agreed with the cam and the followers, those were the things were the LD time was simply too short <3 Thank you for playing :)

@laserpanzerwal Hey there! We appreciate you playing our little game :D I'm glad we could provide you with a Linux version :) Fancy, it doesn't really take a lot more time to do the Linux build, contrary to the MacOS one by the way. I always have to go to my Macbook to do that, because a MacOS build done with my Windows comp won't work for some strange reason ^^ hmmm.. good on you for playing with controller :D The keyboard is pretty much the same, only not as intuitive as the controller think :)

@itsatony Glad you liked it & the premise, hoping on good Mood ratings from you ;) just kidding! Thanks for playing :D

@hakiergrzonzo Awww, thank you so much! agreed, there definitely can be more indicators to help the payer out and improve the gaming experience :) We'll work on that!

@amazura hehe well.. appearances can be decieving ;)

@rosik Hi there and thanks for playing our game; you even played until the last level <3 Yep, that fish thing is a known bug to us.. haha, sorry! :D In the third level you have to take care of 3 plants! :) One is in the bottom left corner, and one on the other end, towards the "top" :) Did you maybe miss that? :) Anyway, thanks for reporting the bug <3

Seafood by fatPenguin 2020-05-12T08:26:48Z

@tropos @pineapple-po thanks so much you two, glad you've enjoyed it :D Yep, we we're proud how much we were able to cram into the jam so to say; we plan on continuing to work on this, thanks for the inspiration! :)) Yep, right now the amount of times you loose the fishies if you dash is too extreme, but so is the dash hehe, one of the things that needs tweaking :) The dash ideas we're also very interesting, thank you! :) I'm happy you enjoyed it <3

@rosik ohh gotcha. yeppppp that's a bug that weirdly doesn't always occur that can lead to in the end there being no fishies left 🙈 gaaaaah ^^ still, thanks for playing and giving it several shots, I'm really greatful :)

Dragon Eggs: Greatest Hits Edition by Shaolin Dave 2020-04-22T17:11:27Z

Cute game and idea, however the controls were extremely complicated and hard to understand for me, idk if it was just me, I would enjoy if you could add a little video as tutorial where you show how to play it :) The knights were cute and I love the idea! Reminds me of the witcher minigames like Gwent or Dice Poker (I played that one sooo much lol) The cube animation/simulation/physics was nice and I loved the design with the spikes (I was wondering at first how you were gonna do that with 4 sides, I expected a tetraeder and then I was like "ahhhh.." ^^) Good job on finishing your game all alone! :)

Dr. Noir by UnidayStudio 2020-04-26T20:26:58Z

What a great game! Very good job! I thought the idea was really unique, well executed and the art was good as well! (I think that whole plague doctor stuff is really cool, but then again, who doesn't :D) I think you should really continue to work on this, it's a very interesting concept! If you do work on this, here's a little more feedback: the colourblind mode is a good idea, however, after some time it can get a little annoying. I would suggest either making it disappear after a while, or after a while it goes on and off, like the colourful view sometimes "flickers" through, because if you have no idea what is what you can just do a try and error and that can get really bothersome after a while, but if the colours sometimes flicker through real fast the player has to memorize it :) Or like maybe the player can press a button to reveal the colours, but the price for that is that your life energy drains faster? It would also be nice if you'd added an overlay with like an Icon and the name of the effect under it as soon as the effect actually starts to.. effect you :D I really liked that you put together a little tutorial level, that really helped :) I also really enjoyed the lighting and how the title blended in at the start! oh and please add controler support ;) Amazing what you were able to accomplish in 72 hours!

Good Squire by Eli Delventhal 2020-05-02T09:49:13Z

One of my favourite entries, simply amazing actually! The mood and graphics were perfect I loved this whole viking thing in this adoreable look, the sound and idea hilarious, the gameplay was awesome (reminded me a bit of Lemmings, but like not totally) Incredible that you managed to do 20 Levels! Truly, a remarkable achievement for a gamejam! Controls were easy and not complicated (thank god!) The atmosphere was great, the tutorial helpful. Didn't expirience any bugs, the art style is fantastic, I love it!

I hope you continue to work on this, I feel like this is a really great game a lot of people would enjoy :) If you decide to do that, a bit of feedback: Balance the whole physics/gameplay a bit better, at times I felt it was a bit unfair; the knight is like this unpredictable AI who you have to babysit and it's always kind of dependend on luck where he runs to (for example if you have to work with a repel rune only) which I liked, but then the enemies we're too "exact" and unforgiving which made it sometimes feel a bit frustrating and at times it felt impossible to take countermeasures to save the situation, why not make it so that either the hitbox of the enemies is smaller, or the knight has to be inside of their trigger for a bit to actually get hit (maybe add a little countdown) or give him HP and some enemies are draining that instead of making every enemy and instakill, at times it felt like the game was moving too fast for me to have enough time to react, again, I liked the unpredictable element to Ragnar's movement, but at times I felt like out of control because there simply wasn't enough time to react which gave the whole thing a sort of "luck" vibe (instead of skill), maybe if everything moved a bit slower (and maybe was a bit smaller, so you have a better feeling of the whole map) that would have felt better. This is just feedback for further development, considering you did this in 3 days it's really perfect and you can be proud of yourselfes :) Also lol @ the squire dubbing the "lady", made me laugh ^^ Good job!

Good Squire by Eli Delventhal 2020-05-05T19:14:02Z

@eli-delventhal No worries, glad I could help :) Again, for a gamejam this is really solid work! But finetuning always takes 80% of the time right haha.. or like my college professors used to say, 20% of the final outcome take 80% of the time.. ^^ I feel ya, I think this mostly just needs a bit more tweaking with values\* so I hope you didn't hardcode everything but made scripts that allow for easy value tweaking if you don't wanna kill yourself, haha ;P \*... tweaking AND abusing family members' and friends' love by urging them to playtest a lot, teehee. Happy developing <3

Wayward by ColeSlaughter 2020-04-24T14:30:23Z

Great great game, I saw it in the live stream of the girl who played LD entries and had to add it to my bookmarks. It reminds me of Journey or even more so of another game from this studio: Flow! What a sweet and soothing experience. The music was spot on and complimented the gameplay very well. This is the sort of game were after playing you feel like waking up from a trance, it's almost therapeutical. The controls felt smooth, would love this with controller support for even more smoothness and therefore immersion! :) good job! The map in the end was an especial nice touch!

Bab by Bamboy 2020-05-11T23:22:12Z

I liked the combination of 2D and 3D, reminded me of Paper Mario :) The grahics were nicely drawn and the 3D objects looked good too! (for some reason I especially liked the micorwave with the lighting, haha xD) The bouncing animation/phyiscis? of the balls were nice too :) A nice level you've got there! :) I can imagine this being fun if you add more gameplay, like for example get quests on what to do (warm up milk for baby, give milk, change diapers, put to sleep etc) with a timer for each action and ofc always ther's new threats for the bby popping up and even when you think you're safe for a while because he sleeps , you never know when he will get out of bed.. ^^ Congrats on finishing your entry! :)

The Last of the Dino Eggs by MaybeLaterx 2020-04-24T17:29:28Z

Hey there! Very very cool concept with the sliding aka flying (I didn't get that's what you meant at first haha) To be honest at first I dodn't figure it out and thought it was hard before I realized I could fly which was supercool (I thought sliding as in, idk slide under something) The gameplay felt really cool! You could maybe make quick wings, animate them a bit and put them in front of the cam that the player realizes ohh okay I'm a flying badass and I can do that, plus it would add to the coolness :)

Good job on finishing your game!

cool, a Trackmania clone ;D and a cool one at that! The music was very fitting, lol, made me laugh. it sounded exactly like a little noise that for itself is not intended to make music but together they do! Like in that one scrubs episode where they did everything in such a rhythm it sounded supercool haha. controls worked smooth and the animations made me laugh haha. Didn't expirience any bugs :)

Decent entry, congrats on finishing your game! :)

Hell's Desk by nate_wec 2020-05-02T11:30:05Z

This game and its style reminds me of undertale (which is good ). The various citizens are fun to talk to. I'm not a big fan of how the map is revealed but thats probably just personal preference.

Amazing job for one person in that short amount of time.

For Ducks' Sake by GaryS 2020-04-26T15:25:22Z

Aww what a sweet and solid entry! It was minimalsitic but what was ther was perfect1 The graphics wer aweome and sweet (broke my heart in the end tbh :'( ) ontrols were solid, and I LOVE controller support! Most games should have controller support (obviously there's exceptions, but y'know) I really loved the random ending messaged, made me laugh. Good job you two! gameover_ducks.png

Mega Kinetic by Add-an-A 2020-05-02T13:40:40Z

What a cute looking game! The cellshader looks splendid! :) UI is nice and the storymode is sooo cute! The gameplay was kind of hard to grasp and the game overall is a bit too hard. I didn't really notice a difference if you slam compared ti just standing under the speciment? Also what do the tomatos do? :3 The movement of the player felt funny, I would work on that and make achievements like having to make the specimen hit certain areas for points or something, or maybe make him evoid certain areas? :)

Congratz on finishing your game, looks amazing :)

The minimap concept with the different camera angles is very easy to understand and I really liked watching that cute little panda furball. As there is no cost for refilling/repairing there is no real difficulty but its still a nice tamagochi-like simulation

NecroTyper by Tadej 2020-05-05T11:26:14Z

Pretty cool game, I like the idea a lot! The graphics were very good too! (might wanna add more animations if you continue to work on it :)) I feel like gameplay could have been a bit more balanced, especially what happens if you mistype something, I think you should make it automatically that everything resets and the player can continue typing. The way it is now, it just takes too long to correct ones mistakes and can become a bit frustrating as there also is no indicator what exactly you did wrong, which means you have to guess (which is cool if when you do a mistake it just resets and as a punishment you have to type everything again, but together with no indicators and the player taking too long to find out hat to do now (sometimes I hit backspace twice, sometimes once worked?) it's more a nuisance than a challenge to be honest. Also once I already had a mighty army of the undead, which seems to have wandered off, never to be seen again? :( A very cool entry for 3 days, hope you continue to work on it :)) Good job!

Beam Slinger by egawag 2020-05-04T17:05:54Z

Aww, what a cute little game! And the idea is amazing! It feels so so exciting and adventurous to grapple yourself through space like a little space spiderman (could'nt have put it better!) Th graphics we're cute and simply, keep making stuff @artist :) Indeed a great entry for a gamejam! if you continue to work on it, maybe balance it as of trying to eliminate the deadbeat situations that can sometimes occur, like there being no astroids to grapple to, and if one is directly in front of you, you most likely die as well :( But again, amazing achieveent in the course of 3 days! also, if you'd add more objectives the player has to collect and maybe enemies (do you know "Lovers in a dangerous spacetime"? if not, check that game out!) I can see this becoming fun for hours :D Good job!

Enshrine by MicroChasm 2020-05-06T17:40:34Z

very cool, reminded me of a Zelda minigame! The beginning scene was really pretty :) The animation of the wall being built up and down really looked great! I like the low poly artstyle, pity you didn't add any free music, that would have really added greatly to the mood I think :) (I mostly search those on youtube; mostly they just require you t credit them and that's it :) Anotherfont would have also been sweet (sinply copy it into the Fonts Folder in Unity) The puzzles were fun, although I didn't understand the ock mechanic first but maybe I'm just dumb ^^ I couldn*t make it past the second level yet, but I will give it another try later :) Good job on finishing your game! :D

Pyro Party! by Re-Markable 2020-04-24T13:48:53Z

What a sweet and funny idea! The graphics are awesome, remind me of overcooked, sweet shading! :) However you had the the classic multiplayer control bugs we expirienced as well at our last gamejam: The pyromaniac can influence the fireman which sadly ruins the whole fun :( idk how game studios do it, but making multiplayer controls that work fine seems like an impossible task lol. Because of that, the pyro is simply too op - before we realized it was the controller I thought your game was horribly balanced, because at first I was looking forward to making my boyfriend slip on the watery slipedy-slope I would direct at him. Splish Splash! :) The concept is awesome and sweet, also that the pyro is faster but the fire dude can block his way and everything, I strongly suggest you put all your programming power in trying to fix that because the rest is really really nice :) good job!

Growing defense by Fis 2020-04-24T13:14:36Z

What a pretty and adoreable little game! it felt so polished! the graphics were very smooth and I didn't expirience any BUGS.. or did I? :B (Pun intended) It looks like you dedicated a lot of time and love into doing this little project and it's very noticeable! The graphics are absolutely adoreable, from the plants to the bugs to the tools and even the logo looks so so so pretty! It also felt very well balanced, and I loved the fact that you have to take care of the plants :) I noticed you were able to satisfy the needs of two plants if they're close together - which made of an interesting game mechanics, not sure if that was intended, but you could work on that - like when you water 2 plants they just get 50% satisfaction then when you water 1, but sometimes you might want to do that when you're in a hurry and there would otherwise not be enough time to save both plants? Maybe you could add an indicator for the health of the plants that looks cute and doesn*t clash with your beautiful visuals :) Good job!

Come to Mama by Louis hayes greenwood 2020-04-24T14:43:52Z

Awesome graphics! Cool idea for a puzzle game :) I just felt super confused at first about the blocks - like I didn't know if that was "realtime" as in "be quick" or think about what you're doing - turns out both, respectively have good timing :) the bottle thing was nice and cute. I just felt like throwing thr rocks felt weird - it always happened when I run gaianst them, I think it would be better if I press a key to pick them uop and then press another key when I want to put it down -

other than that, congrats on finishing your game, the art really is amazing and cute :)

Bunnurse by Brainoid 2020-04-22T18:05:27Z

What a cool game! :D I love quicktime events and combining it with finding the wounded soldiers was interesting :) the art and the shading done inside of the eingin were beautiful, the dialogues were funny and you even added cinematics! wow!!

Father dies At The End by nahual 2020-05-11T21:35:32Z

The mood and graphics were great, also the athmosphere, really awesome! The sounds were great as well and I was immediately invested! Sadly the gamepay wasn*t really intuitive, I tried 10 ties and couldn't save the dad, I think more instructions would have been nice. Like an overlay of showing what to do, also more feedback if what I was doing is even right, like I wasn*t able to charge the defibirlator I think, although I clicked away from the body and waited? That sadly was a bummer honestly, as the rest of the game is really great! But everything I did didn't seem to help at all, I think if the bag vavle mask and pressing the bandage does something, there should be a slight improvement to indicate this, sadly it didn't (or I did it wrong?)

The artstyle as I already mentioned is great, but the UI and verything looked perfect as well!

Anyway, a good job for a gamejam, congrats to the team :))

On Air by Beebo Studios 2020-04-24T13:38:17Z

What an insanely cool game! The graphics and gameplay ideas were hilarious, the music fit really well! That's one of the games that while playing actually felt like a game :) If you continue working on it, which I would encourage, then maybe add a bit of a hint text telling you what to do (like then the extinguisher is empty, I know you said that in the instructions but honestly when it first happened it me I didn't remebr it and thought it was a bug and was annoyed, haha) also the doggy placement was a bit weird, 4 out of 5 times it wouldnt work? It seems like you had to put them in from the right angle but I didn't seem to be able to figure that out, I think if you stand in front of the cage and just press the button then it should work :) Also maybe highlight the objects to interact with so the player can distinguish them more clearly :)

All in all a really cool game which I think I would buy on Steam if you add more levels and polish it :)

The Skeleton King and his cute dragon plant by DutssZ 2020-04-22T18:01:18Z

That game was really really cute :D I love that plant! it's just a tiny bit too small in my taste, I think you could've scaled this up no problem, the pixelaed style works really well :) or maybe make a mobile/tablet version? Either way, congrats on finishing your game! the animations were good! :)

Open Fire! by Amazura 2020-05-02T12:00:13Z

Great entry, especially for a single person! The art style was spot on, cute pixel graphics with nice animations :) The gameplay reminded me of that pikachu game from Pokemon Stadium and the Nintendo 64 ;) Music was nice and I enjoyed the little storymode

if you continue to work on this, I think it would be great if you'd make it so the buttons you need to press change during the wave or in general add more quicktime events :) and maybe make it less strict on the speed of the button hitting ;P

Again, great work for a jam all alone!

Keep it Fire by Mykola 2020-05-02T11:17:20Z

The simple style looks great and although I felt a bit overwhelmed when I first read the Infoscreen (Pausemenu) the gameplay and controls are very easy to understand. To be honest I only beat the game on the easiest difficulty - damn is this hard

Keep it Fire by Mykola 2020-05-04T16:31:31Z

What a cute entry! Congratz, very good outcome for a gamejam :) I really liked the idea that you have to keep yourself and something else alive and have to share the same HP, so to say :) The graphics were very cute, however I wouldn't mix different styles so much if I were you, either make everything in a pixel art style or cartooney (the trees) either way, keep the same pixel density, or if you wan't it to do it on purpose then go extreme, like in the Amazing World of gumball ^^ the controls worked very smooth, didn't realize any bugs, however, this is one of the games were controller support would make the whole expirience even better :) (I comment that under so much games lol, but it's the truth!!! ^^) I really really really liked that you made a pause menu and put an explanation of all the controls here, I wish more gamejam entries would do this. There's nothing worse than a LD game hat has hundreds of controls to memorize and you having to minimize the game to read about them which ofc makes you die in return.. gaaahh.. that really makes games feel like a chore, instead of.. you know, a game ^^ Gameplay and "story" wise I thought it's sad that you're gonna die no matter what, felt kind of hopeless :P also, I sometimes felt that some logs simply weren't worth it (to go there, I'm going to lose more health than what the log will give me because of time+jump penality+ice, so maybe balance that a bit more :)

All in all a good job, congratz on finishing your game :))

Cubi & Spheri by Hugo kieffer 2020-04-24T11:54:48Z

what a sweet little game, I like the idea of dragging your cute but derpy little friend behind you and having to protect him, together with the art this gave me a cartoon network vibe (the enemies being like this evil triangle shaped spotlights haha, very insane in a cute way) the lighting was really nice with soft colours and all in all very "marshmallow-y" so to say, haha. If you know what I mean ;) I agree what others said, fighting felt futile and can therefore become frustrating. I like the idea of the recharging station a lot, however it was a bit weird because after fighting I had a hard time having spheri recharge? I feel like there should be a trigger that when he is there he should dock in or something? Maybe I was just expiriencing a bug. Let's not forget this is a gamejam entry though, so of course there's never enough time to do something perfect and you two did a great job! If you wish to continue to work in this I'd recomment maybe having some sort of stamina, mana, electric power if you will that gets recharged when you roll along with spheri (like a generator, you know? =)) and if it's full you can then launch an EMP-of-sorts area of effect attack: like that you also add the challenge of the player having to determine the best timing when to launch this thing to inflict the most damage to the most evil triangles :) (kind of reminds me of all warcraft games, where during a session you had only one of those strikes and if you did it and hit no one it was super meberrassing, I think that*s where the termn "epic fail" was coined, no joke haha) also I felt like this would be even more complimented with cute sounds and music! :) do you know freesound.org? :) you can create an account for free and have access to a huge amount of sounds you can use for free! as for music, I always search on youtube for free music or something. (Just look at the caption though, with some you don't have to do anything, some you have to credit, but pretty much put those in the description here and you're fine)

Cubi & Spheri by Hugo kieffer 2020-05-05T19:02:21Z

@hugo-kieffer No worries, I'm glad to help :) Uhmmmm, could have been that I simply didn't get it, but if it was a bug, I cannot really say what happened, I just kept rolling onto it and nothing happened ¯\\_(ツ)_/¯ Maybe the cooldown gets paused when you're on the button?

I'm sure you will make something great out of it :D Btw, if you ever need a break from gamedev-ing, you can check out our game if you'd like (: Happy developing <3

City Soundscapes by Firesplash Entertainment 2020-05-02T13:23:43Z

Nice idea, although the controls were veeery confusing. I would make a drag+click control and make it so the player can look around and manage things WHILE being in pause mode (take a look at FTL for reference) also, I didn't understand what to do at the start and how to place things? Like others have reported, a lot of times clicking did nothing which can pump up the frustration real quick :( You could maybe solve that problem by changing the curser if you hover over different options? :) Good job on finishing your game, nice graphics!

Sachka, Heal-sitter by Darklim Henwitch 2020-05-02T11:09:05Z

What a cool idea! and seriously, screw that Ellefys jerk! (I always let him die on purpose, and frankly, he's being such a noob while acting like hes soooo cool, so it's not like THAT was being hard) at first I lost but then I managed to kill the fucking swine with my guuuurl <3 I've never played WoW, but I assume it's a standard to have pain-in-the-ass long teamfights with a fuckload of loot in return, so good job ^^ (all I know about teamfight is from playing League and ESO, so I think I can judge on the toxicity ^^') The sound of the old guy talking about Goethe and shit was weird, trippy and kind of calming, lol (I didn't pay too much attention because I was focused on the game and can't really multitask, if i'm doing something primarily and then listen to something while focusing on the first thing it's kind of like I dreamt about it, if that makes any sense? I'm weird ^^)

Anywaaaay, good job on finishing your game! :)

The Weeny's Quest by Tropos 2020-05-11T18:28:18Z

A really cute entry, very underrated, truly a hidden gem! The gameplay was really fun compared to most games (3 days isn't exactly much to come up with a pefectly balanced and finished gameplay, haha) also the graphics and music + mood were great! Really well done for a gamejam! Things I would improve for the post-jam version if you decide you want to continue working on it and then maybe put it on Steam for a couple of bucks ^^: - improve the hitboxes for the click function, it happened to me quite a lot of times that I clicked the pad before the one I actually wanted to activate, accidentally killing weeny or helping the monster kill Weeny; in addition I would recommend adding visual indicators, meaning highlighting the asset which would be activated as soon as you hover over it - with an outline for example is a pretty standard way of doing that and therefore comprehensive to most players I would imagine :) you can also use an outer glow to further enhance the "spooky, ghostly mood" of your game ;D - add a bit more animations and eye candy :D - gameplay wise it's already pretty fun, but if you want to add more levels, maybe add functions to be able to control Weeny? for example placing additional candy? Which requires the player to think about careful placement, because you might as well seal your own fate if you do it in a bad way! :) - add difficulty settings (like if the player chooses harder the cooldown for the assets to use is longer) or add a ranking to the levels (classic 3 stars system), if the player chooses the perfect/shortest/quickest way it's 3 stars, maybe add a time or step counter to indicate this - depending on how much you tweak the complexety of the gameplay, might want to add a pause mode, where you can look at the map while everything is on hold, which would make the game even more about organizing the perfect route/strategy for Weeny, could imagine this to be fun! Maybe add like an extra candy for Weeny to obtain? Like if you choose to go for this achievement you have to pull down a block or something and as soon as you do that Weeny goes after it and then there's no turning back so you better succeed ^^ just an idea to add extra content for the ambitious players ;D - nicer transitions to the UI, maybe add specific game-over animations, like the monster (idk what the monster plans on doing ;)... eating Weeny? ^^), or Weeny falling into the lava etc, and then like a nicer transition to the UI ->x either animate the UI element (add an UI element ;)) falling down, or fading in or something....? - play a bit around with post processing effects - I can imagine bloom being a good choice ;D - choose a more fitting font, idk if you knew that, but you just have to paste the font file into the fonts folder of Unity :) - add your "game studio" logo inside of the splash screen, add a little Icon for the .exe: not really part of the game itself, but I always like to do this as it's quickly done in the build settings and makes the whole thing feel more like a "real game" ;D

Again, good job! Congrats to the team, you can be proud of yourselves!

The Weeny's Quest by Tropos 2020-05-11T20:33:28Z

@tropos no worries, I get it the deadline is insane every single time, that's why I put it under "Improvements for your post-jam version" :D We also plan to work on our game as a little side project :) (Also the deadline was too short! haha) The hitbox thing wasn't too bad, it didn't break the game or anything, just, you know, something you should definitely do if you want to polish :) Happy developing <3

Lamps by qkjosh 2020-05-02T10:25:47Z

Pretty little game and awesome mood. sooo much bloom ;) A very nice entry. I would have just a little hint at the beginning, like "try to figure out whats going on" or something like that ;D I really liked the artstyle, it looked like there's a deep story behind everything, the music was great too! i also deeply admire peope who rig and animate a whole character from scrach for a gamejam, as I know how much work that is ^^ (took me a complete day for our game, haha) The movement of the doggie was a bit off as in him moonwalking a lot, I think adjusting the movement speed in accordance to the animation would fix that (either make the speed lower, or scale the keyframes of the animation down if that would make the doggie too slow in your opinion) also I personally would make the whole dog prefab a little bit smaller. Would have been nice if you would've added an animation for him turning around/making a U-turn, but I know it's a gamejam, ain't nobody got time for that ^^ also a bit of collider madness, but again that's the gamejam vibe. tell me about it :D All in all a great little project, congrats on finishing your game you two! You can be proud of yourselfes

Big Buddy ! by Leonard 2020-04-22T14:43:56Z

Damn that game was hard I never managed to last even 2mins. The idea to also use the food as ammunition is fun and the different attacks really encourage to try every item. That was really a great idea

I killed myself a lot at the beginning as I didn't realize that some attacks also affect the player. Also potatoes and coconuts are the best! :D

Outdoor Survivor by Wassim 2020-05-04T17:21:17Z

Hey there, cool entry & idea, was fun running around the streets as Hipster ("Homeless man".. yeah right..) ^^^ The Graphics looked sweet, bummer I can't vote on that, or did you get them from the aset store or something? And that case, well chosen ;) The controls sadly didn't live up to my expectations but as this is a complex thing I assume you simply didn't have enough time. Things I would change if you want to continue to work on that: - be able to zoom out further, OR provide a mini map, so you cannot blindly run into your demise (GTA Style or something ^^) - how the left click worked was kind of weird, like if I click in another direction he does that path first? Other games like Witcher 1 or Lague of Legends do it so the last click is the one you move to, I would strongly advise you to do that as well :) - make objectives, highscore games are waaaay lamer and it's not so much mre work plus you can have fun while thinking of levels ;D - make it easier to escape the cops. I tried to do a runner a couple of times but the slow camera movement/rotation failed me :( hiding in houses or wastebins like others suggesting is a good idea as well! I think in general the player should be a abit faster than the cops (or make a "run" button that drains stamina or something) so you can get away a desired amount of distance before you can hide, I think that would make this thing really fun! You could make it that if the cop chases you, he tells his colleague and all (or a couple of cops nearby) try to corner you and run towards you, so yo have to thing of a quick strategy to escape and keep an eye on the situation on the map while doing aprupt manouvers like a rabbit t get rid of them; I can imagine that to be a lot of fun! You could even do a multiplayer with that :)

Good job on finishing your game!

Save us by Curtis Pelissier 2020-04-28T21:02:23Z

Interesting game and an interesting premise! The controls were quick to grasp, the graphics of the planet looked good! The intro could have been made skipable and there were a few typos, but hey, it's a gamejam ;)

I would have liked to interact more with the planet earth instead of only textboxes, maybe do some drag and dropd mechanic or maybe the game makes it so you hve to pinpoint a location or something (that way its a sneaky educational game as well :D) so that would make the game even more special I think :)

The twitter thing was funny, I would make it so a little pop up shows up and shows the whole tweet at the top or bottom and then make it last longer so the player doesn't have to pause and click at the Social Media tab.

All in all a decent entry, good job! :)

The Cube by Casual Dutchman 2020-04-22T16:59:17Z

What a little gamejam gem you've got there! (pun bad but intended) So unique! First of all, the obvious - I really liked your Art/Leven esign/Mood Style which I would describe as "Polished Minecraft clone, but not really". The controls feel like Minecraft which is great because a lot of games have the weakness that their specific controls can kind of kill the fun at first, with your game you immediately know whats going on controller wise. I have to admit I didn't really have a clue what to do for a good 2 minutes but that didn't stop me from stumbling and jumping around and adore the stunning world you created! The gameplay feels very minimalistic and not very punishing and together with the atmosphere and mood it gave me a serious Journey vibe, which I really enjoyed :) Maybe add an indicator of the health of the cube on the top of the screen? It's kind of inconvenient to have to drop the cube to be able to do that, also mayb you could add mechanics where you have to use the cube to progress, for example if you'd need it to open doors/areas, defeat foes or something, so you have more reason WHY you're carrying it arund (other than, you know, keeping it alive ^^) All in all it was really enjoyable and great, I can also imagine this being superfun with controller support! :D

GAS by CrazyHomeboys 2020-05-10T10:58:22Z

A really really nice entry! The graphics together with the music make for a great mood (Gasmask boy for some reason is super adoreable, lol) All in all it had a soft of cute "chibi" look while being set in a depressive, distopian setting - kinda reminded me of the game Beholder :) The gameplay is a carefully constructed and provides a lot of mechanics that sure add to balancing. However, tutorial wise this sadly isn't good (enough) - which is a shame, because the game's so great. We felt it's really really hard to get into without ending up frustrated because at the beginning you're consufd of what to do exactly, ideally a tutorial level or sorts would be the best choice of course, but pretty sure the tight schedule of LD didn't allow for it - the help in the bottom right corner doesn't pause the game (at east I felt it doesn't? the NPCs are still moving around?) Which it should. That makes it seem pretty stressful tbh. Also You could have provided more infos in this post and a gameplay video explaining the mechanics more profoundly - both things you could have done easily post-jam! What a shame! I feel like you could have generated a lot more players, which in the end means votes that way. What was also weird is that the game at some point simply ended although I still had enough citizens etc.? But since that's such an advanced issue, very good job nevertheless ^^

Very cool and detailed entry for a gamejam but if you continue to work on it really start by making a profound tutorial and make levels and introduce the mechanics gradually - like that you end up having introduced all at level 7 or something :)

Congrats von finishing your jam, you can be proud of yourselfes :)

Anatomic Mayhem by henrycgs 2020-04-28T19:40:25Z

What a great idea! I really had a blast! The graphics were simplistic and awesome (colours and lighting were great), and the actions for the various organs were pretty clever in combination with the controls and what to do :) That's one of my favourite LudumDare entries :) Could do very very well as a minigame in a bigger game (like.. idk the hacking thing in Bioshock, but this is even more cool!) or as game on the ipad :) (kinda reminded me of spaceteam, check that one out, it's co-op though!) I imagine this can also be quite fun as a co-op game maybe one of the next jackbox party pack or something ^^ really very well done! I'm very impressed what you managed to do on your own, I cant even think of any improvement (I mean, you can ALWAYS improve stuff ^^) but like there wasn't anything particularly that stood out in a bad way. at first I was like.. man, taking a crap is even more complex than in The Fractued but Whole, buuut then I realized, just in reality, you don't have to do the whole thing at once ^^ so my critique is: add a more profound tutorial for dummies :D

Wait! I had another idea! Instead of a mere highscore-is-the-goal thing you can add specific levels and when you manage to end a level flawlessly you get 3 stars, and there could be specific levels like if it's a person with diabetes you have to inject insulin, or with an old person you have to take extra care of the heart oooor like maybe add a clock and the person has to remember to take medication at a certain time, or can get sick etc :)

all in all, great game! :D

StarShip Hamster by Maytch 2020-04-24T12:15:40Z

That was a great game! Nice and cute idea, a hamster as a power supply that at the sam time you have to keep alive had me smile. awesome graphics (you were the one with the grass tutorial, right? :)) and the mechanics were really clever. at first I thought like "okay, a blast, why wouldn't I use that all the time, how OP" but then I realized it is just a stun as an emergency measure, you still need to kill them to obtain the food for hammy!" sweet. The only thing that felt a bit off to me was looking around with the mouse while running around, felt a bit weird, like the mouse wasn't properly reacting or like the angle was super slow? Idk if it as just me, but that kinda rubbed me the wrong way and had me slightly annoyed, especially when trying to make a U turn it was a bit frustrating. I feel like this could turn into a really great and funny game with more mechanics as you progress (like for example one level where you have to move the whole thing but from time to time have to stop to, you know, feed hammy, but you also to be quick because behind you is something you have to escape from "maybe a horde of those damn flies" btw the flies nice voices made me laugh lol.

all in all a very decent entry, you can be proud of yourself, I enjoyed playing it :)

Plant Life by HEXIEZ123 2020-05-06T14:15:49Z

Hey there, a fun little game, cool idea! :) Also really great for a compo entry, you've come very far with a decent amount of mechanics! For post-jam improvement, I might not make you lose immediately before you hit a cetain point, but like, give off a warning and if things don't change for a couple seconds, then it's over (like on Overwatch the warning sound before your kitchen burns down lol) The gameplay ideas were cool, the controls felt a little bit weird at first, but worked out pretty good :) As I comment on many games haha, I think this might be more intuitive with a controller, like one joystick for the sun, one for the water (as those two being the main influences) it would also be cool if you'd add certain effects like for example that you can kill the bugs with a carefully placed strain of water if it hits them, kill two birds with one stone :) (In German this saying is "Kill two flies with one swat" which is literally true, hehe ;)) All in all a very impressive entry, good job! :)

Slimekeep by BenBonk 2020-05-05T10:57:13Z

Pretty cool game and nice graphics, made me feel like playing a game on my Pipboy :D the controls at first seemed a bit overwhelming but were easy to learn and remember, also felt smoothly while playing! I feel like you could've balanced the gameplay a bit better, having to keep some the enemies alive and then shoot them at a right time while having to mind not to be overrun sounded like a really great and interesting idea, however I didn't feel it gives me any payoff for doing so tbh, which is a shame because I think that's really a cool mechanic. The enemies never dropped anything for me :( Maybe the chance is too low? You know what also would be cool? If a big enemy drops a bomb or something like that where you can slay away alot of these enemies in a single strike which would make the player feel supercool, powerful and badass, which is kind of the point in hack & slash games which I think this is :) maybe the orbs are intended to do that? I couldn't tell because I've never obtained some :( A very good result for a gamejam, if you continue to work on it I'd remove the highscore thing and do levels with like maybe an objective the player has to reach (for example, you have to build something and the slime thingies drop resources when you shoot them, and the most rare ones are only dropped by huge enemies (which, if you're in troubl can also be used as those said bombs or something) Just some ideas that crossed my mind :)

Anyway, great job on finishing your game, especially considering you did this all by yourself, very impressive :D

Lone Settler by Poupi 2020-04-22T18:29:54Z

haha, what a cute game :) reminds me of a game we did a while back, but in a different fashion, about keeping a planet alive :) but you have a little wall-e guy, which is super cute :D the graphics were beautiful and the game was fun, it was a bit complicated to figure out first, but I know how nobody has enough time with gamejams hehe, if you continue to work on it which I would encourage you to do I would start slowly and let the player get accustomed to a certain task before continuing, accompanied with texts explaining what to do etc :) all in all a solid entry, you can be proud of yourself, especially because you did it on your own! :O

Keep What Alive by Valeth2124 2020-05-10T11:16:58Z

A pretty cool game with an interesting storyline :D I especially liked the "personal space circle" that indicated when you're about to get infected if you were close, made for a cool avoiding aspect! The story itself was fun, although I always ended up getting killed by the neighbour, haha. I feel like if I bought the gun I should be able to shoot him :P And then I can feed the body to my family or something xD (but I guess there wasn't enough time? :P) The mechanics were interesting, also the options at the shop :) I think this would be really cool if you'd continued to work on this and make it so ther's like 2 time slots you dobefore it's evening and you also have a job where you earn money and you can choose to work 2 shifts or none at all, and risk getting fired or overworked or something :D A cool idea and an interesting gameplay, mood was also great, good job! :)

UnArchive by mitjmcc 2020-05-05T20:31:12Z

Interesting little game with a promising premise :) Like others said, it's kind of hard when you're doing the right/wrong thing. Maybe if you're really close, make the things snap together. I also felt the value of the "scrolls" (movement in the y axis) too extreme/big, I would tone that down, and maybe add a timer to the whole thing (which then would make players still let things fall down and hope for the best gravity-wise because they wanna beat the level, or get 3 stars or whatever) Cool entry for a gamejam for one person! good job :)

Ice Ice Baby by Fabrizio Spadaro 2020-04-26T20:01:54Z

What a great little game you created there! and so much levels, especially for a compo! The idea was very interesting, a sweet little puzzle platformer. Controls were smooth (made sense in the context of the ice cube) I think this would be even better with controller support :D OR release this as a smartphone/tablet game, where tilting your screen.. well tilts the world and tapping is jumping :) I can imagine this to do really well in the App Store (I always download stuff like that ^^) Just add sound and more assets (eye candy :)) The sprites were simplistic but sweet and perfectly balanced, it seems like you really properly used the short given time :)

Good job! We enjoyed playing it :)

Ice Ice Baby by Fabrizio Spadaro 2020-04-26T21:07:00Z

@fabrizio-spadaro Whoopsie, I just checked and you're right it does indeed have a controller support, it didn't work for me before, maybe my controller wasn't plugged in before or has a broken connection, that happened to another game before, so sorry about that! :) makes your game even better ^.^

Cat Shelter Simulator by Fat cat 2020-04-22T20:31:56Z

KITTIES!!! What more could you heart desire? Also this visual Sims touch is really nice also reminded me of those cute 3DS games :) This had the funny effect of wanting to make the cats go away as this was the game objective and at the same time being sad about it, haha the little GIF at the beginning is sooooo adoreable!

the cat sounds were awesome, made me laugh lol.

good job with this cute little organization game <3

Heartful Defense by Nelson William 2020-05-12T17:42:12Z

A cute tower defense game, I enjoyed it, was quite a challenge! :) I would have liked it better if you could change the structures afterwards, as I felt like I could never predict where the path is going to change towards if I built in walls (really liked that mechanic btw!) or at least show a preview (overlay or something) where this would be built. The gameplay was challenging, the graphics nice and together with the msic and sound this made for an awesome mood :D Really well done for a gamejam that you did all by yourself :) I think if you continue to work on this this can be a really cool game, would also work pretty well as a mobile game!

Circus Daddy by PatteDeCanaard 2020-05-02T13:19:04Z

I thought the idea was really fun, and I liked the scenery you chose together with the mood and music :)

I think the mechanics need more polishing, although I feel like that's a pretty complicated mechanic to create for only 3 days! Therefore, good job already! At first I felt it was a bit unfair that you also lose the baby on the trampoline as it sometimes felt like you would never be able to get a hold of it again lol, especially if both were jumping at different heights, but when I managed to.. manage this area I also felt incredibly proud of myself, so maybe tweak that as well :) for example, if both jump at different heights, why not after every bounce let the baby get closer to your height, and when it's the correct height make the player grab it and if he/she times it right, the baby is safe as a reward :) (althought I can't code and idk how different that is from your current controls)

also, you might want to tweak your colliders a bit: baby_stuck.jpg

all in all a fun, idea and game, you should continue to work on it! :)

KEEP THE F*CKING GAME ALIVE by PerfMouse Studios 2020-05-02T11:49:39Z

SPOILER_unknown.png

Funny idea t add all the windows bugs etc ;) Gameplay felt nice, figuring it out was hard though, I just kept my finger on the spacebar and then it worked :D I personally don't like it when games are highscore based, i just always feel like it's kind of a lazy "feature" as in "wohooo look, we have an endless game!" whereas levels that have an ending feel more wholesome and like you've achieved something, you know? :3 (no offense, a lot of games do that and also, that's just my personal opinion) I felt if you've added different levels or just one and have an ending as in you've collected all the bugs (you can also add a timer that adds a new bug every x seconds as a"punishment" when you take too long) or add stars to a level if you've collected all the bugs superquick, which makes the player having to figure out what's the fastest way :) Music was good! Graphics were simplistic and easy to read. Good job, especially since one of you didn't know how to code :3

The Tale of the Lumberjack who did not want to cut trees by Thomas_Bringer 2020-05-12T18:13:36Z

A sweet little puzzle game; I like it, really good for a compo! I found the idea and your interpretation of the topic awesome! To actually choose one object amongst many that wouldn't turn into an obstacle, brilliant; choosing the "lesser evil" so to say :D Would have liked it if the boy was slightly faster, also if I keep the button pressed he should continue to walk, how you did it can feel a bit tedious after a while. Also the intro was a little long for my taste and the text arrangement made it weird to look at while my focus was actually with the visual action. Like I have to read, but also wanna see the characters (but even Bethesda does that, so yeah might just be personal preference.. ^^) The grahics looked great and the coours and lighting were very pleasant to the eye :) Music and sound were fitting and the mood was therefore good! Btw, for the love of godzilla, I wasn't able to figure out this level:

Good job and congrats on finishing your compo game! :)

Stoke It ! - V1.3 by WegPast 2020-04-26T21:43:33Z

That's a very pretty and impressive piece you've managed to put together! the pixel art looks splendid, the gameplay is decent, the avoiding controls felt smooth and you were able to put so much gameplay mechanics in there! however, the way I see it, that is the biggest weakness that it is overwhelming at first, if you continue to work on it I would start gradually, at first making a segment where the player simply has to avoid the obstacles and then slowly adding all the upgrades :) maybe the upgrading never stops because you still get hit sometimes or like the machine parts get broken over time or something? You could also make it that after a player manages a segment you have a short time to buy upgrades at a store etc (which you can only do between the segments) I think FTL might be a good source of inspiration for your game :)

All in all, a very nice entry with gorgeous pixel art!

Save the baby! by KJG 2020-04-21T14:04:42Z

What a unique game! The controls and idea was fun, also the dashing part was a blast. At first I didn't figure it out and then I was like "Ahhhhh!" Music and sounds are good, the graphics are trashy but in a good way, made me laugh and really fit! This would make an awesome internet game I think ^^ Was just a bit too hard for me, but I think that's one of those games you learn by heart and failure, like geometry dash :)

Frozen Skies by ThorPalsson 2020-05-06T15:13:45Z

A beautiful little entry, I like that survival stuff and I thought it's cute you chose a lizard as the protagonist :D The models looked good, together with the music it made for a great mood, also a lot of stuff to craft and a decent amount of mechanics, good job for a gamejam! Overall I felt the lizard movement was too slow and a bit tiresome, although that could be exactly what you wanted to add to the mood (they did that in Homesick as well, idk if you know that game but someone who's actzally a film director made it, so the mood and story was very important to him and he used the slow pace to infuse the player more into the hopeless sort of apocalyptic atmosphere he created) Sometimes the lizard's tail jumped in a funny way of rigid body craziness, just like dwarf beards in Witcher 1, good times haha. You dealt pretty well with the awkward game-jam issue of not having enough time for asset/world creation/ what to do with the borders as the gradient in the background really fit to the mood (we ourselfes resortet to fog for that xD) Things I would have enjoyed but am pretty sure you simply didn't have enough time for that, (but maybe you'd like to work on the game some more?): - add more resources than wood and stones (for example, maybe fiber for the clothes stuff) - graphic-wise, make the trees drop the branches/logs as soon as it's cut, like in minecraft or something - make the trees either grow more wood, or them regrowing - the darkness felt a bit awkward because I couldn't explore then and had to wait - I assume you did that on purpose because I see there's a torch in the workbench - however, I would make the player's see a bit but lose health quicker or somthing if in the darkness without a torch - and/or give him a sleep option to pass the night

The story was interesting, I found 3 scrolls (were those all?) and added to the mood :)

Good job on finishing your game! :)

a Very Talented Worm by unplugred 2020-05-04T17:35:47Z

What a cute little game! Had fun playing it :) And I was actually sooo scared haha, I'm gonna have nightmares tonight from this damn bird, I swear. xD The idea is cute and fun. the graphics are cute and controls are easy (although I also wouldn't complain about controller support ;))) I think it would be cool if the tunnel would decay gradually (and like indicate that with different colours or textures etc), and the fresher it is, the quicker Worma can get through the soil, I would make it significantly faster, so the player's have to think about how the crawl throught the earth and what yould be the most efficient route etc :) I think an indicator were the bird is would be nice as well, like when it starts to move towards you make an arrow that becomes bigger the nearer it is or something like that, one time that bitch picked me out of the earth >o< grrrr! All in all a cute entry, congratz on finishing your game! :)

Mammoth Expedition by Abdurrahman Khallouf 2020-05-10T16:19:55Z

That was really fun! :D I personally enjoy games that have you ponder between tough decisions while resources are scarce, like FTL, This war of mine, 60 seconds or something like that. The bacground icy wind sound really added for a great atmohsphere, the pictures were cute (although you don't want to be rated on those, so I suppose you didn't make them?) Pity the Text didn't suit the cute rest, I feel like if you would have spend 20 minutes on looking for a fitting font it would have imrpvoed the whole mood :) I liked the gameplay system and enjoyed hating the cook ^^ I loved all the different options I have, sadly I never got to try the fishing camp thing because I was already so advanced and couldn't spare the workers :) I think if you want to work on it and maybe tweak the rules of the events happening a bit more, this could become a real cool game :D Good job, very good for a gamejam :)

El Burritón by JakNak72 2020-04-21T21:00:55Z

Yay I love me some overcooked :D Enjoyed the isometric artstyle, gave me some serious Sims vibes (y) :)

Critical Landscape-Scale Force of Nature by DougDevs 2020-04-23T15:28:27Z

nice entry! I like the gameplay and how you introduce the mechanics at the beginning of the game. Also very cute beaver

Feed me, please! by Lucidus 2020-04-22T16:18:15Z

I just saw your game being played in the twitch stream while eagerly waiting for our game t be picked and immediately had to come here and try it for myself :D What a cute and unique game! I definitely liked the idea of having to choose and balance what to give to this fuzzy little bud. Also love the graphic style with animations and the music is so cute! also the toilet paper made me laugh, lol. good job!

Keep On by irock 2020-05-12T17:20:42Z

Hey there, a cool idea and nice graphics plus mood, although I think this needs some tweaking in the gameplay department, also super weird button assignment, why didn't you choose buttons next to each other? I had to try 5 times before I ven managed t hit the right ones, because the action buttons are away from each other in such an inconvenient distance that you awkwardly graps to the keyboard and missclick a lot of times. I would have assigned these to like q,w,e,r (like in league of legends ;)) which would have made it easier. Also, I couldn't grab the blob with x? I think this would be great with controller support, also with the idea and everything :) the music was well chosen and very fitting! :) The characters were cute! Well done on finishing your game, good job :D

The Land I Live On by Danilo Freire 2020-05-12T18:24:34Z

H there, really sweet little game, I like the idea amd whole premise! :D Watering the little plants was so cute! also the sounds and everything, made for a great mood! :) The intro animation was amazing, I wish you would have added more of that 2D into the first level :D (Sort of like how it is in the amazing world of Gumball, y'know what I mean? :)) The aim of the water pistol was kind of weiiiiird, like in the beginning I needed a solid minute to figure it out, so maybe tweak that some more. It's also weird that at a certain point you can't lower the gun more, I guess that has to do with the third person-zom-in-camera thing you have going on? Which I liked btw :) Also, after watering all flowers I couldn't jump at the platform :( Half the time he used the water pistol, the other 50% it looked like it is just a teeny bit too low to get onto the platform! Oh, I commented on your post before, but regarding the lighting if you still want to improve that, I'll copypaste my advice from before :D

Hi there, I feel like the lighting needs a bit more work, looks like the default state when you start up unity. Here‘s a couple of really quick things to try:

Open the lighting settings (you find them under window -> settings) activate Real-time GI (lights should be set to real-time in the inspector but since I assume you didn‘t change them this should work*) then press bake light in the right bottom of the lighting tab and wait for a bit (the real-time light also gets baked, although it says „0 mb“ lightmaps afterward, they actually do ^^) in the Setting from the Light itself (if you didn’t add any, it’s a directional light, you can search that inside of the hierarchy) activate soft shadows in the inspector Hope that helps and that you like it :)

Oh, also change the color space from gamma to linear, you do this in the project settings under the tab „player“ (can be found under edit -> project settings or at the build settings)

*if you want to use baked lights and lightmaps as this is a huge performance saver, you need to look into the subject a bit more (lightprobes etc) in that case I can recommend some good and comprehensive tutorials if you‘d like. This all be said assuming you use Unity 😄

Good job on finishing your game! :)

Bébert and Gertrude against the Aliens by SylvainPV 2020-04-26T21:13:06Z

Cute little game, especially for your first gamejam, well done! The graphics and animations are very nice! I thought the idea of the different actions were interesting, however I would balance it a bit more (why would you kick if it takes as long as hitting and makes no damage? Maybe have the kick create a knokback when directed towards the aliens? or is it meant for bebe only?) Also the hitboxes where sometimes a bit frustrating, but with a bit of tweaking you should be able to fix this, nice entry! :)

FEED ME by ScalphaMission 2020-04-24T17:17:50Z

What a cool and unique artstyle, wow! really enjoyed that! :) I especially loved the Kamera overlays in combination with the story, elt really awesome! I can imagine this also being awesome if you use it for example if the character is obsessed with an evil spriti or something :) I didn't really understand the gameplay because it sometimes felt as if the animals were attracted by the thing in the centre anyway and if it even mattered in the end were I go, but I enjoyed looking at it nevertheless ^^ all in all a cool project, congrats on finishing your game! :)

Gizmick! by Zliebowitz 2020-04-23T14:32:40Z

The 3rd boss was really tricky for me. Only managed to beat him when i mashed the attack button and ignored the dash mechanic - overall very nice entry :)

Spark Of Imagination! by Magnanix 2020-04-28T21:35:53Z

Nice Voiceovers and idea :) Sadly, I didn't really understand if what I doing was right - I ended up dodging attacks and rolling to her asap to hit her, and then collected the flames - a few indicators that I was actually doing something would have been nice, but I know how gamejams can be ^^ good job on finishing your game all alone! :)

EDO by Jozef 2020-05-06T14:34:34Z

Awwww! Such an awesome game! First of all, what a cute design EDO has, I looooove him! soooo adorable, a real good job creating him :) His tentacles also were spot on! The idea is funny and challenging, I also really really liked how you did the tutorial (with an own level) this was really great for teaching player's the mechanics and it was fun! I also really enjoyed the ideas like grabbing the icecream to counter the engine overheating. It has this cute and silly Point&Click logic which I really enjoyed. I also liked the variations, like how some smarthphones showed that mum is calling (She'll never believe THAT excuse for not taking her call, that's for sure!) The gameplay felt really solid, I didn't realize any bugs, everything went smoothly. I also really liked how your inventry is physics based and not like this "hard coded" slots :) It leaves you escited and be like praying "please don't fall off, pls don't fall offffff...! haha I once picked up this propeller beanie lol, I wish that would have been some sort of time based upgrade or something :D like you can fly a bit when you activate it (if it does indeed do that, then I was simply too stupid to use it ^^) The music was fun and fit the mood, it was also fun stealing things off of people and listening to their outraged "Hey! >:[" while being all like "Oh SORRY, I'm just a cute alien who really needs that ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ Teehee, thx byeeee!" xD For a gamejam a really outstanding achievement, congrats to the team! :) As for polishing and post-jam, I maybe add a bit more of a "snapping" as soon as you're close to the spaceship part that needs certain items, or maybe make them bigger, and if you're urgently lacking a specific item make it spawn sooner and a bit more often; sadly I've died while missing icecream because the only one that would have been there on time was blocked by a car :( But that's really advanced stuff already, for a gamejam entry this was more than decent! Good job <3

Super Immunizer by kostasvs 2020-05-02T11:28:49Z

Hey there, nice game! I really like the idea, as I'm a person who can't get enough of the "got turned little and sent into body" narrative, be it in Futurama, the Simpsons, Archer or where ever ^^ It's a shame I couldn't see the commandant more often as I really liked his model :) Aiming was a bit too hard for me as it was kind of "jumpy" as in it reacted too sensitively to the mouse movement or something? Can't tell if thats because I'm a noob at shooters though. I feel like it would be cooler if you'd make the aiming less jumpey, but the germs die at one shoot already :) Also to balance off my noobness, I just kept shooting like a maniac as soon as I realized I can't hurt my own buds ^^ So maybe make the shooting more fair, but also add friendy fire :) I played both levels and liked that you could actually fly? (swim? frankly, I have NO iea what the little things in our bodies do ^^) inside of the lung tubes (preeeetty sure that's not how it's called, but nevermind ^^) where more of those germ fuckers where hidden, that had a nice touch! :)

It would have been great if you'd show some sort of bad thing happening if you take too long to play, I think th germs respawned? But since I was playing I couldn't tell for sure, maybe add a counter, countdown, or make goals for both parties! Like the germs building some sort of "castle" or something (I'm sure there's some sort of anatomic equivalent that could be interpreted as a "fort" in a cute game-like way ^^)

I also feel like it would be great if you could add antibodies in a sort of tower defense fashion :) Story-wise, it would be sweet if you are some sort of protector of the body who commands all the cells, a sort of Lorax of the immune system if you will ^^

I liked that you provided 2 levels, I can imagine that could be really interesting if you added a cancer level, as cancer cells attack your own cells and turn them into baddies, "cell zombies" or something :)

All in all, a cool entry, nice progress for 3 days :) Good job you two!

platformEGG by Tricky_Fat_Cat 2020-04-25T14:54:01Z

This feels like an actual game on Steam, very well done! However gameplay-wise I have to agree with others, this get's way too hard way to fast. I would increase the difficulty gradually, and in the first "real" level I wasn't really sure how the hitboxes of the objects work. All in all I felt way more fragile than the egg, lol. Maybe I should be protected by the egg, haha Unless you want to go for that Dark Souls vibe ;) I think you should work an this as it really is nice, the music was great and the sprites top notch. The frog as a ninja reminded me of the ninja turtle while still being unique, had me laugh, good job. The controls felt nice and I like that you added Gamepad Support, a lot of games on here feel weird and wrong with keyboard and mouse controls only when they feel like they should be played with a controller (which is okay though because Gamejam) so well done for providing controller support Music didn't work in WebGL btw, I almost didn't rate you for that, maybe fix that because most lazy people will choose to pay WebGL ;)

All in all, a great work, you can be proud of yourselfes!

Ludum Defendare by Cievers 2020-05-06T18:01:20Z

What a cool, 4th-wall breaking humor :D I loved it! also, I discovered new games I have to try that way ;) Really an awesome idea, this felt like one of those cool google games where suddenly the screen just turns into a whole game :D :D I liked that the hammer showed where you will hit, I'd maybe have replaced it with a little bull's eye or something :) and maybe add a stain sprite for every bug squished that then quickly fades :D but I know no one ever has enough time at gamejams, especially since you also had to protect our games O: A job I'm lousy at btw, I only ever managed to get to the last day :( Welp, don't rely on me, fellow gamdevs!

Btw, sometimes it felt a little bit unfair, like hitting next to the publish buttun (on the left) it then damages the button because while hovering the hammer is above the button? other than that, great game :D

Also, pretty accurate portayal of the Countdown ;)

Really a great entry, congrats! :D

Big Turnip by Pierre CILLUFFO 2020-04-22T15:32:50Z

I like the big turnip, it reminds me of the cute big turnips in forager  I survived till Wave 72 - enemies basically do damage as soon as they spawn^^

Overall challenging and fun game - thanks for your entry =)

Baby: Don't Hurt Me by Eroar 2020-04-26T21:22:41Z

Interesting game concept, however I think this is a game where you HAVE TO provide controller support, as having to navigate a platformer with a keybard can feel really.. 90ies like, an I don't mean the good 90ies ;) Tbh, the second level with this hard to manage jump was simply too frustrating, because keyboard controls are never accurate enough. I tried it a good 20 times with the baby and never made it (without the baby about half of the time) which is a pitty because I wanted to play more! :( The level design and graphics looked nice so far :) Nevertheless good job, congrats on finishing your gamejam entry! :)

4 coins by Vertuga32 2020-05-04T16:17:40Z

Awww what a sweet entry! I love me some Point & Click :) I really like the artstyle, it feels like you're kinda wandering around in a painting (especially the heaven looked very vanGogh-y) the puzzles were cute and all in all a very good length for aN LD game :) it would have been nice if the player had to first walk to the objects before doing something, although that made it possible to rush through (and sometimes poin & click games can get kind of tiresome, so that wouldn't happen here haha) all in all great for a gamejam, goob job! :) If you want to continue to work on it, I'd add changing cursos sprites, or make it possible to tab throug the options like in Deponia! :)

Mascota Joy by winslow 2020-05-02T13:32:58Z

The dog is really cute and I like the animations!

This game was very relaxing for a change. Thanks for your entry

Slime Mama by Jack Kaloger 2020-04-21T13:51:01Z

WOW!! This game is fantastic! It's so well done, funny and just feels so.. whole! It's amazing what you managed to do in this short amount of time! The controls feel nice and smooth, graphics and sprites are beautiful and the topic is spot on! Music and sounds really complimented the whole thing even more. Really really enjoyed it. Also it was a decent challenge :) After I figured out I could do a wall jump I was so hyped haha (Maybe also mention that in the tutorial, unless you want for that to be a hidden secret or something?) Anyway, nice work! The ending cinematic had me laugh haha. so epic ;) I rate your game 5/5 and hopefully you continue working on it? :)

Manifest Destiny by SaltFactory Studio 2020-05-02T13:02:02Z

What a cute little game! Good job, especially for finishing it on your own! I really liked the idea and how the camera zoomed into it :) the characters were sweet, made me laugh, lol. I also liked the whole western atmosphere :) If you would like to polish this a bit more, I'd try adding a bit more of a fight system and the player being able to dodge bullets, maybe with qicktime events? I also think the player should be able to bear more damage (maybe because he's the Sheriff or something?) as it would then make sense that you wanna stand in front line and protect your men because they otherwise could go down easily (and you would miss their damage) also colouring the different bullets would be helpful :) (which one are yours, which ones are from the enemy) Also, sometimes the environment, mostly trees was in my sight, maybe add sort of an invisibility to the assets if its between the player and the camera or something :)

and last but not least may I offer you a bit of a lighting advice that I myself learned since my last gamejam: 1. change the lighting mode from gamma to linear (you can find that one in the project settings under the tab "Player") 2. in the lighting tab (settings -> lighting) turn on realtime global illumination and then click "bake" in the right bottom corner, will immediately make your lighting look a lot better :) (in the settings of your light, which I presume is a directional one, check the hierachy, add soft shadows :))

Again, good job!

Life is Hard, and then You Buy a Cactus by trmrddr 2020-04-22T18:06:33Z

haha oh boy that whole scrum things gave me PTSD.. I'm not at work anymore, man! :P jk. cool and funny game, the graphics were beautiful and i have the utmost respect for anybody who does rigging for a gamejam ^^ congrats on finsihing your game :)

Both or Nothing by victor_reiner 2020-05-06T13:40:44Z

Cool game! The graphics, sound and mood were stunning <3 The gameplay idea is a good one and it's a great idea to do this for mobile, pretty good result for an LD :) You could continue to work on this and put it on the app store! As for expanding the gameplay, you could add more things to consider, like give yourself two slots for eating and crafting or something (like you could also wear the skin of the animal to keep you warm) or you can decide how you spend your trip, like going out, looking for food, or searching a shelter etc. I think this can be a really cool "though decisions" kind of game :) Do you know This War of mine? Might be a good inspiration, although the situation is a bit different there ^^ 30 Seconds! also is pretty similar in terms of gameplay. Good job overall, congrats on finishing your game (:

Go Cockroach go! by Ulisses 2020-05-02T12:50:01Z

What a cute game! I really liked the idea, graphics and camera angle and distance you choose! However, gameplay wise this has huge issues that I think can be fixed with minor tweaks, the current state is sadly very frustrating and made me even angry :( first of all, I think the tolerance of the cooldown and when the newspaper/show hits next is waaay to narrow, this is the first level after all! (My boyfriend always says that's a gamejam sickness to think like you have to make a game superhard, I would know because I suffer from this condition too, and from what I saw in the last 2 weeks, I'd say he's right.. ^^)

I think if you made the time span between the cooldown and the splash shorther, this could be way more fun! Also I realized if you keep your finger on the spacebar, the cooldown of the sprint doesn't reload - I would change that as well as it seems like an unecessary punishment. Are you supposed to get under the counter? I easily played 30 times and never managed it.. you might want to add a little quest marker too :) also, adding controller support would really suit a game like this!

All in all good job you two :)

Keep this heart alive by Apandso 2020-05-05T10:22:31Z

What an awesome entry! Gameplay is very solid and straight to the point, I love it! designwise, this is a minimalistic masterpiece, the fluid animation is sooo nice, the jumping sound is cute and the music fits :) I've played until the last (?) level and sadly coulnd't beat it, but i'll try again later :D Afte the 10th level it said 10 again, idk if that's a bug :3 I think you can put this already on the appstore as it is no problem (if you wanna do that at all), but I would tweak it a bit :) I felt that sometimes the randomness can ruin your game a little, like when you get damage anyway if you decide to jump or not. the thing on the ground sometimes hit me in an unfair way as a felt it, like I jumped immediately before it hit me and it still hit me! Also sometimes the only dots I could hit in a while would have me collide with something, which led to situations where although most of the game went well I've lost anyway. (btw: I played using a mouse, so I can imagine that with tapping with your finger this to be much more intuitive) I know how hard it is to do this sort of random procedural gameplay as we've added that component to our game as well, and for a gamejam all by yourself in only 3 days, WOW! Outstanding result :) Really a good job!

Ambulance chase by nick0124 creator 2020-05-06T13:51:39Z

First of all, congrats on finishing a compo! :) The gameplay idea was actually pretty great, loved that premise of playing tom & jerry ;) The graphics were cute, can be improved ofc but for 2 days you did a good job! The idea that you have to "think" in the perspective of the car was interesting, I would recommend you check out the mobile game "Commute", were you also play a car that has to avoid crashing (there's a free version), but no one is chasing you in that one, rather you have to make it to a certain point in a certain amount of time, so your idea is still unique so to say ;D That being said, I can imagine your game being a fun mobile game if you try to base your controls a bit on the one of the game I mentioned :) Right now there are still some situations that felt "unfair" to take damage (like if you're REALLY slow and just touching something you shouldn'g et as much damage I think plus, how the cars and the enemy react. But for a compo, a really good job, you can be proud of yourself :)

KiTa by MKRaw 2020-04-21T14:00:12Z

That was amazing! I can't believe you did this in this short amount of time by yourself! The idea is fun an intuitive, the graphics are very nice and all in all it felt like a proper game, not something you jammed together in 3 days ;) congrats! The music and sounds made a great fit. I felt it sometimes a bit too hard to get from on of the outer corners to the other one, but maybe I'm just a noob :D while I agree that format is very mobile friendly, I especially enjoyed the controls with the keyboard, that really felt smooth (kind of like how I like them when playing Undertale, you know?) I can see myself enjoying this also while navigating with my finger though :) btw: the background colour change was also fantastic. at first I didn't realize it, but after I saw it I noticed how much it helped me while playing. Great subtle game design! <3

The Last Guardian by civmaniac 2020-04-21T14:54:57Z

Hey pal, your MacOS Build doesn't work :3 I just tried to play your game while sitting on the couch with my macbook, I will check it later on when I'm at my PC again :) lazy vibes! ^^(I don't know why, but I also expirienced this before - it seems to be impossible to build a functioning macOS build on a PC.. :( Your game looks nice :) edit: if you're not reliant on realtime GI, might I suggest you make a Webbuild as well? :) Will get you more clicks I think - you know how lazy people are ;) Sadly I frist have to do a lightbake to make one for our game :3

The Last Guardian by civmaniac 2020-04-22T06:19:50Z

awww that game was so sweet! :D Also loved the storymode and also that you thoretically would be able to skip it (for replaying purposes etc) The artstyle is really cute :) the whole thing has a "don't starve" vibe, which I really enjoyed. the controls were pretty smooth but a bit too much to remember at first, (but I'm also super bad at that ^^) so if you keep working on this game maybe sort of subtle show them all the time, or create a tutorial to gradually introduce the player to all those functions or maybe make a tiny button icon appear as soon as there are certain actions to be done? :) like when there's a plant the option to water etc. All in all a sweet and cute game, amazing what you 2 ppl managed to accomplish in 72 hours <3

Dicelem: Rise of the Golem v0.9.0 - demoversion by Snory 2020-04-21T14:49:59Z

I really liked the dice idea in combination with realtime - normally this would be a turnbased thing, but this way forces you to make decisions fast, which I found insteresting, I also liked the south park style :) However, as others pointed out it is a bit confusing and too much - why not tune down the dice mechanism down to a minimum (without so much things and values to consider) and put the gained time into polishing and balancing? :) Do you know the dice poker game from the witcher series? That is simple, easy to grasp and sooo addictive! I've wasted away hours while making Geralt gamble, haha. (Note: only from Witcher 1, in Witcher 2 they kinda ruined it for me with camera angle and throw-dice-mechanics, lol) Good job on finishing the game! :D

A Fairy Tale by pixnpickstudio 2020-04-25T13:53:45Z

A pretty little game with sweet music and a great Dumbledore quote 😁 (might want to pay attention when you wanna continue t work on this, might wanna come up with a legally safe knock-off haha) The mood was awesome, and yaay, contoller support! In the beginning I didn't know what to do to be honest. The bridge was a huge gap to me that I couldn't jumo over, at first I thought I was expiriencing bug (btw inor Interface bug: sometimes during the tutorial it said "sprite" and other Code stuff instead of showing the buttons etc) nothing major, though

I might have wished for more puzzles but considering you did this all by yourself you did a good job! :)

Cthulhu: The Cult Must Not Die by LaserPanzerWal 2020-04-28T21:26:17Z

Nie entry! I really liked the graphics and gameplay, reminded me a lot of the Witcher 1 :) I like the combat system, I just felt like it lacked a bit of feedback when managing to hit the "sweet spot" - I know, I know, nobody has time in gamejams ^^ I also felt like the camera movement could have been improved, for example if you press rightklick and drag, that you move the camera until you let go - so like the camera doesn't always have to be at your character, which can also potentially lead to danger if you don't pay attention - kind of like in League of Legends, you know? The sacrificing stunned enemies part didn't make sense to me at first -an indicator would be nice and for one enemy it didn't work :( in the end I was just fighting enemies and no more soulds to harvest - noooo :( All in all a good accomplishment for 3 days, good job! :)

Mycelium by BlobRoss 2020-05-01T15:03:37Z

Awwww, so cute! :) At first, I didn't completely get it, but you're able to find out the gameplay mechanics pretty quick! Makes you want to com back for more! graphics were amazing. Controls easy (which is a big plus!) I've been meaning to try this out since I saw your post like a week ago. the fat mushroom who attracts the attention of the enemies is ADORBZ! :3 at first I thought he was the protagonist, hehe. :3! (The actual protagonist is cute as well! <33) The music and programming was nice too! I'd maybe just try to make it a bit more readable, as in giving more feedback if you've done something good (like watering the plants, maybe make some.. idk "Health icons" apprear to indicate you're doing something good, or like with a noise, also it might be a good idea to distinct the colours between stuff you can interact with and only environment :) (like make the one more detailed, less saturated, a bit of a difference in tone etc.)

All in all a great entry! <3

to Leave by 5imon 2020-05-02T13:50:49Z

What a sweet game with a nice and fantastic idea. The more it makes me mad that you offer no guidance :( Pal, you need to realize us people are lazy pieces of shit. If something doesn't work the second time (and they've not already invested hours of gameplay) they're likely to drop it. "Life's too short" and everything (which doesn't mean these said lazy pieces of shit are gonna then spend it meaningfully, most likely will waste it on Instagram, but you get the point, right?) Yet you didn't even add the instructions in your post, you made others have to SEARCH for them in the comments, grrrr. this makes me angry on your behalf, because I really like your game, artstyle and feel like you've put a lot of work into this! And you did it all alone.. whaaaaat? :O Amazeballs!

Nowadays, there are too many games on the market. Making games has also become about selling yourself, and that continues after the player bought the game with the tutorial! I know, I know, gamejams and all, ain't nobody got time for that, BUT your game looks soo polished and nice, at least add a proper description in the post OR offer a gameplay video where you show what to do! ^^ The music is nice and sweet, the colours look great (good lighting!)

So overall good job finishing this n your own! but for godzillas sake, MAKE A BETTER TUTORIAL IN YOUR POSTING <3

Feed Me More! by Itskdog 2020-05-05T17:15:45Z

Sweet idea and the graphics looked cute! Impressive that you did a game all alone :) The animations are cute and a solid soundtrack <3 Sadly, I only got black diamonds and could only use the machine in the upper left corner? If I had to do something else it sadly wasn't clear to me, I was very interested in the different gameplay mechanics you've added to all the different machines. Maybe I did somthing wrong? It was a bit weird to me that you sometimes have to press a button and then sometimes you don't an things happen automatically as soon as you reach them, either make the button pressing mandatory for everything or nothing (unless you've got a special kind of situation where it makes sense, like when you have to for example choose between 2 outcomes and every outcome is another button or something like that) I feel like more feedback after certain actions would have also been nice (sounds particles etc) although the loading bar for waiting for the machines to process were very helpful at that :) Gameplaywise, I noticed that a fair amount of gamejam entries focus on highscores or respectively "try to make it as long as you can" which I personally don't prefer. I think this kind of "hopeless" premise isn't really motivating and makes the whole thing feel kind of in vain, you know what I mean?

Therefore, if time allows it, I would always recommend to do levels, I would much rather play one level than having a highscore thing "that you can play forever" (I think that's what most people think when they do that, because that's what I always used to think) if you go into the game thinking, "Whelp, it doesn't matter anyway" then you might as well give up right now, you know? Maybe it's just me, but I think highscores are a relict of the past where everyone went gaming into the gaming halls and if you managed to beat the highscore, you could then be the hero in front of all your friends, which was a VERY awesome thing back then :D Again, this is just my personal opinion, but if you have a certain goal to achieve I've noticed myself to then be much more invested into beating the game, it just adds a nice microexperience if you know what I mean :) (Plus, you can still add highscores to levels :D) Just how I feel about/ how I think gamedevs can improve the experience of their game for others, if you continue to work on yours I would gradually introduce more machines and upgrades to the player, I can imagine this to be pretty fun! :)

All in all a very good entry, you can be proud of yourself! Congrats on finishing a game on your own! :D

Feed Me More! by Itskdog 2020-05-05T22:27:27Z

Hey there, no worries! :) Oh I see.. I think I overlooked that, might have to try again :) yeah I feel ya, that’s why I said „if time allows it“ because I’ve experienced firsthand how gamejams can be tough and don’t leave you with enough time and your game turned out really good for a jam :) Good luck with further development! And hey, if you ever need a break you can check out our game if you want :) Happy developing <3

ÁED - The Spark of Life by itsatony 2020-04-26T15:15:30Z

What a charming little game! I can't believe you got into game development mere 6 weeks ago! First of all, the obvious - this is beautiful, atmospheric, and the UI Style (Font, Tutorial in HUD etc.) really really complement the whole mood :) the gameplay is exiting and sweet what a good idea! You should continue to work on this with controller support I feel like this can push your game to the next level and become even more smooth (for example, I'd use the arrow buttons to tune the flame up and down), and if you tweak the graphics more (add more assets etc, I know I know gamejams, ain't nobody got time for that haha) this could become a sweet little game with more cool mechanics :) Btw: I didn't manage the first spark jump thing and got frustrated :( but I will continue to try later on :) Good work overall!

Fire Camp by MuchoBestoStudio 2020-05-11T21:15:13Z

Damn, I almost forgot to play your game :/ Which would be a shame, because I think it's really great! :) I like the idea and how the gameplay felt, the graphics, music and therefood mood is really really REALLY great! The camera worked nice, I think you chose a perfect angle/distance, the menu feels really nice and the sounds are nice as well. I really liked that you've put upgrades to buy each time with the money you#ve earned before, gave it a nice try and error touch :) At first I wasn't too fond of the grid based controls (I didn't like that the logs took a full box and actually blocked my path hahaha), but in the end I thought it was a good choice, maybe indicate it more with a tutorial or make the grid more visible? Although I think it would still be fun if you changed the controls :) What I think is missing is an indicator of the HP of the flames, the warning is nice, but you know I need something to estimate it better. Also a minimap indicating how far away the ghosts are would have been nice for the same reason, which is organising what to do next :) The ghosts were cute and scary at the same time, haha, A couple of times I experienced a bug that the ghost doesn#t vanish but stops and stays on the spot forever, also sometimes the ghosts din't vanish at the first time I pass them (nthing gamebreaking though, just a bit weird) I think I would make the character faster than the ghosts OR make it possible to pause the game and check the situation out with the grids and all :) (like if I still have time to catch him before he reaches the fire if I do a cetain action or not :))

All in all, a great and pretty entry for a jam! I think it would be a fun complete game if you descide to conitnue working on it :) Like maybe add levels? But still keep the try and error mechanic, I like that! I would probably make it so the player can move onto the next level afer 2-3 upgrades and add bonuses and collectibles for each player that sticks around longer :) Well, you have to try!

Congrats to the team!

Tumbleweed by Brenan 2020-04-24T12:34:35Z

Such a gorgeous game, probably my favourite one so far, wow! the lighting!! the global illumination and/or lighting of the scifi stuff together with the nature assets and light had such a beautiful contrast! sheer poetry. also I LOVE tumbleweed, always thought those were cute no idea why, so there is literally no way I can not like this, lol. can you explain to me how to beat the second puzzle though? where this scifi stuff falls down, I can't figure out how to go up there and I wanna see the beautiful rest :( (that might be the only critique for you - add more hints if dummies like me get stuck haha)

I feel like if you continue to work on this you can put it on steam no problem! has an awesome beautifully eerie but peaceful vibe, sort of like journey! Very very good job, you assembled a great team there! :) I also loved that you put work into the cursor and that before you begin you dont know what/where thr player is, only after you put a little wind there, that was a really nice touch! the story put into the image as text while playing also looked beautiful! the whole thing is simply breathtaking.

Ball Monster by marrero171 2020-04-30T12:30:30Z

Like others said, way too hard, I think the darkness moves too fast and after the tutorial you threw this hard level in the player's face. I feel like this could have been the last level where you show your combined skills/knowledge you obtained over the course of the game! Graphics and gameplay/idea are very good, I feel the controls were off when jumping but that could just be me being a noob lol :) I think if you implemented contoller support the jumping part might be a lot more intuitive! I also didn't realize any bugs, the game seems very smooth :)

All in all a cool entry good job on finishing a game you two! :)

Btw, the "too hard" thing might not even be a valid point, as that could have been your goal all along (cf. Dark Souls) so don't let all this noobs like me get you down ;)

Imagine by AndreiOlenic 2020-04-22T18:13:57Z

cute little game and idea, the controls are a bit much - I would put them permanently in one corner as a little help :) or if you stand in front of a teddy show a text that says press this to do this blabla. the art was nice, reminded me of cool old pixel games like pokemon or something <3 good job on finishing your game! :)

The Consequences of Gardening by JMad 2020-05-06T15:32:37Z

A pretty cool point&click adventure! :) I loved the idea of feeding an evil plant haha ;) The graphics were prtty and the animation too, I like the artstyle :) I experienced a bug that when I sometimes click on assets I can't pick them up when I click on "Pick up", but rather the box moves to the right and a bit down, for example the wallet, it worked after clicking on it for several times though! Music was sounds were great and added a lot to the mood, I just couldn't use the stuff in my inventory? I tried clicking and dragging but it sadly did nothing. I loved all the little infos you've put on a lot of assets, felt very Point&click-y The controls were okay but I would advise to base them more on other Point&Click games like Monkey Island or Deponia, because I've intuitively made something I know from those games, like clicking on the edge and that also brings me to the map etc, also going around a bit would have been nice :) I managed to bring the IT guy to Gertrude and felt so bad haha because he was so nice (side note: on the other hand, I would have let him repair my PC first and then fed him to Gertrude :PP) I also liked how you added music to be played to the headphones in the shop :)

Cool entry, congratz on finishing your game! :D P.S.: If you want, you could check out our game too, I have a feeling you might like it.. ;))

The Intern by FlorianB 2020-05-11T20:27:01Z

A fun, silly game that I found really cool. For a gamejam, a really nice entry! I liked the overall premise and some solutions were really funny, like throwing the trash out the window, lol. I liked that one especially because it was intuitively the first thing your gamer jerk brain tells you to do xD I also could se you've made quite a lot of assets, the title screens looks really pretty actually! Everyone knows there's not much time with gamejams which is probably why all the NPCs are very simple, but i that case I think you should "own" this weakness, y'know? the capsule shape was funny and I generally liked the faces just drawn in photoshop wasn't th best choice, I think if you did the drawings in illustrator (he makes vectors out of it, which smoothes the whole thing, very much like in flash) would have fitted better. Also I think it would have looked nice if you'd have some sort of simple hopping animation, ike in South Park where they also started with a very simplistic style due to time limitations. I would also rework the design of the bubble and choose a different font :) You could maybe replace the bubbles with E-Mails? I think you can also add a lot more funny humorous encounters that way (like passive aggressive business talk code, putting others in cc etc)

Overall a good entry, congrats on finishing your game! :)

A Walk In The Park by ion-programming 2020-04-24T11:30:32Z

Ohhh what a ride! I'm so glad I found this little gem. At first I was like "aww, a walking simulator, cute. How peaceful. What a nice mood." And then I realized the quests at the bottom and got excited. Such a unique and cute idea! The pet was so cute haha. The music is perfect! Did you do it yourself? The humor was sweet and kind of Undertale-ish, I loved it. I played it a good 20 minutes. I can actually see this being a great finished game that gives you awesome vibes while playing it if you polish it and come up with a story and more gameplay (like puzzles etc) I hope you do! Now, on to the most important question: WHERE THE HELL IS THE OUTFIT :( I couldn't find it! Very good job, and for one person only, wow!

p.s.: I was especially proud for this: rockinbox.jps

Eclipse - Chip Hunt by ToxicHouse 2020-05-05T17:41:29Z

That was a fun game! Like other's said, it's like this really polished great prototype that can be built into something bigger! I really liked floating around while not knowing where I was and trying to get from one safe spot to the next, while trying to find the chips, that was very exciting and the mood was spot on! :) It was very fun floating around in space and I liked the little floating "inaccuracy" of movement that made the hovering in space experience more realistic :) I didn't notice any bugs or something like that. very good job for a gamejam!

If you wanna continue to work on this, which I think would be a good idea, here's some input from me, what I think would be cool, hopefully it's not annoying, so bear with me :D - add any sort of input for certain actions (visually or with a sound), especially refilling your oxygen tank, at first I was desperately hitting my space button while apparently "nothing" happened - until I checked my oxygen bar, and then felt like an idiot, lol. Games in space inevitably make you think you're gonna die of asphixiation soon, so give that player a little bit of that sweet, sweet feeling of relief, haha. (Sooo much games have limited oxygen implemented in them :O)

- add info in the background, just floating meteors etc, to give the player a kind of feeling where you're going - just seemsless little background stuff because if there's no objects to interact with you kind of lose track y'know?, I once worked on an LD game that was set in space too, found this superold tutorial to be very helpful, and efficient, as it makes use of a lot of Photoshop functions that give you an outcome real quick, and you can tweak it to your liking (probably darker in your case, as you have that "deep space" setting) https:// www.youtube.com/watch?v=czhJfC1SuU0&t=310s (remove the space, before www, for some reason embedding didn't work?) FTL is also a great game inspiration on space backgrounds if you wanna go more into the pixel art direction :)

- add structures made out of meteors in the layer where the action is, like make the player having to float around those (because if you crash against them with a fast speed you loose HP or something)

- add enemies/harmful obstacles, I think it would be a cool challenge if the player has to float around those and carfeu manouvering around those :) Maybe he has to hide behind a meteor and wait for the right moment the enemy doesn't look in his direction to get that longed for chip? Meanwhile ofc he's losing valuable oxygen :O

- maybe make the ship able to move for a bit towards your goal (like.. for example speaking of 2D Space, the spaceship is in the upper right corner, and you have to get to a portal or something in the lower left corner, but the fuel only lasts for a fraction of the way - maybe you can add a cool spaceship mechanic this way? :)

Again, really great achievement, congrats on finishing your lovely game! :)

PRECURSOR by thaniel 2020-05-05T19:46:10Z

What a fun idea! So innovative :D sadly, at some level it became too hard for me, but I will come back for more ;) In the beginning I had NO clue what to do, so maybe add a bit more of a tutorial or even in this post "Yes, it's about your computer mouse" or make a screenshot with the mouse inside or something, players like me are dummies ^^ I feel like this could also work great as a mobile game :) so maybe assemble a team of gamedevs and artist and gt this thing on the road ;D a.k.a. appstore ^^ good job on finishing your game all on your own :)

Social Distancing For LadyBugs by mehrdadsh 2020-05-06T16:57:31Z

A sweet little game, especially considering this is your first gamejam and all done by yourself :) the graphics are one of the best I've seen done by a programmer, the bugs looked really cute and the music was sweet and I loved the whole premise, very cute :D The music was also very well chosen, made me happy. <3 I didn't notice any bugs (at least none without manners! Because like "ladylike", get it?! teehee) and the controls were easy and smooth :) Managing to get a hold of a huge amount of bugs and squishing them all at once felt really cool, hehe :D Sadly, I couldn't save all the ladybugs :( Really impressive for a gamejam! :D Some small visual tips I can give: try to look for a nice font next time (if there is enough time) it adds so much to the mood and makes your UI look immediately better! :) Just drop em into the Font Folder in your Unity project, plus there's a lot of cool free fonts out there! :) Also, while in the build settings you can easily add the Logo of your "Game studio" to the startup screen if you have one :) For Standalone builds you can add an icon there to be used a thumbnail for the .exe file, both super quick things to do that makes the whole thing seem a little more gamelike :D (idk if you did the thumbnail thing tbh, I used the Webplayer :3)

All in all, a very awesome entry! Keep making games <3 P.S.: If you wanna do something about your smart balance, you can always check out our game if you want ;P

Keep It Charged by LaZZyDev72 2020-05-11T19:08:28Z

Cute little game, especially impressive if you consider this is your first game and you're only 15. Pros: - Graphics (simple, yet sweet!) - Lighting & postprocessing (looked really awesome!) - Music (added a nice background ambience) - Mood - Gameplay (comprehensive and intuitive - Humor (loved the self awareness, lol and the Looney Toones inspired ending

Cons/Things to maybe improve on if you want to continue working on it: - Humor (sometimes weird memes, but that might just be personal perference, maybe I just don't get the young folks nowadays ;)) - Spelling (some mistakes als grammarwise, would re-check if you want to improve the game :)) - isometric perspective: I get that you probably chose this for better readability, however I would try for either a normal perspective with weak distortion or chose a "real" isometric view: I think if the room doesn't move or moves differently, this could be achieved? I just found it to not be aaaaas pretty as it could look like.

All in all, great entry, good job! :)

Chicken Guide Simulator 3000 by flod 2020-05-05T20:49:22Z

Awww what a cute game, kind of reminded me of chicku :) Sadly, the second level was my Waterloo, as I didn't manage to pass the last spikey trail, I always dies at the second last :( couldn't figue out how to do this correctly :( The graphics were cute, and the sound and music fitting, haha we used exactly the same munch sound ^^ All in all a sweet entry and I liked that you proided multiplayer, will have to try that out later on <3

Mr. Cheesy by SAVVU 2020-05-11T19:55:07Z

An fun and silly game I enjoyed playing :) The idea is great haha, the graphics are cute and the animation sprites look nice :) Also the spagetthi scenes, made me laugh lol. I can magine this to be a succesful mobile game (I played the HTML Version, didn't experiecne any bugs) However, I would try to add a lot more features to keep the game exciting :) like maybe add a jump that you have to recharge to use it or something like that :) Good job on finsihing your game and best of luck for future development :D

The Dogsanity Abusive Experience by blackmoodgames 2020-04-24T12:05:11Z

Haha, what an unique game you've did there and it's so insane - I love it. first of all the art was splendid - it has this trashy but you can see the artist has a skill and a certain understanding of light vibe. good choice of colours - they looked really good together! and the weird drawing stlye is awesome, kind of like salad fingers or something ^^ on to the gameplay, that was cool! Sort of like 120 seconds, papers please or this war of mine, I like decision making games. I sadly wasn't able to figure out the 3rd ending, so if someone could provide a walkthrough for me that would be awesome ;) congrats in finishing this bad boy all by yourself!

finally got to try this game, it's been in my bookmarks for a while. What a nice game! Kind of reminds me of an online one I played years ago called Wink or something. I really liked how you've put the tutorial and the music was nice. The idea of the lamp and it's pros and cons was really interesting! However, I found it a bit too hard and unforgiving, after 5 or 6 tries I was too frustrated to try again to be honest. I feel like the punishment for having the lamp switched off is too harsh, plus the enemies are too OP, I feel like after you've crossed some you should be "safe" of sorts. or balance this any other way. I know there's never enough time for this kind of stuff at gamejams, but I think if you balance this a bit more this can become a really great little stealth puzzle game :) maybe have the light drain your energy slower while enemies are around, or what about if it actually slowly recharges when you're around enemies and have it turned on! (the recharge must of course then be slower then what they take from you if they hit you, otherwise it's basically godmode) but like that you'd give the player a cool reward for being able to be around the monsters and evade them to not be hit: that their energy gets reloaded :)

all in all, good job you two!

Last Light by LykaWolfie 2020-04-24T13:52:33Z

lykawolfie no worries :) yeah I know the drill. Gamejams and balancing, ain*t nobody got time for that haha. If you're lucky you start with the actual level design and gameplay on the last day because before that its only adding features and assets xD tell me about it haha.. that's why it's awesome of you conitnue to work on your game though :D best of luck! <3

a Friend of fire by GreenDuck 2020-05-05T18:56:44Z

Aww what a cute game! I really liked the animations, gave it a cool "scribbled" look, like out of kid's book :) personally I felt like he could have been a bit faster :3 The gameplay could have been more interesting, but considering you did this all alone in the course of a gamejam You did a very good job! Congrats on finishing your game :) I think music and sound would have also aded much. There is a bunch of cool free sounds online, might wanna check that out :) for sounds, freesounds.com is a good starting point, as for music youtube has a lot of free music where you just have to credit the author :) Again, good job!

Space Shield by Infinite 2020-04-28T21:13:37Z

Very nice entry! the graphics are amazing, everything looked very polished, from the assets down to the fonts/UI! The music is very fitting! The controls felt very polished although really confusing at first. I thought it would make more sense if I could navigate to every point, but it kind of snapped to certain positions. which would be okay if this were a "theres only 4 options" kind of thing - like if the astrids could only hit you on top, left, right or bottom, but they did also hit specific locations, which was frutrating at first, I ended up acting as if the shield was a bat and moved it in such a matter that I kind of "smashed" the asteroids away as soon as they came close, which turned out to be fun, so maybe that's how you intended it in the first place? :) because if yes, I would mention this in a tutorial :) I thought it was great that you can control multiple shields, however I felt I couldn't switch between the shields with the B button? Apart from that I had fun playing it, very cool that you added controller support and 3 different difficulty modes :)

Well done!

Keep IT Alive by bollwerk 2020-05-02T13:20:50Z

At first it was really difficult for me to manage all the tasks but after some tries I got the hang of it. I really like multitasking challenge games!

Is there a way to not die in the end? I managed to satisfy all customer wishes but the game still ended at the end of my workday - that felt a bit disappointing

Overall I really enjoyed playing your game. Thanks for your entry

The Last Lighthouse by magus24 2020-05-06T17:22:10Z

A cute Jump 'n' Run game with Minecraft controls, I like it :) The graphics were pretty and what you did inside of Unity was really amazing! The Light and Post processing Effects were stunning, th skybox really fits to the whole scene, and overall the mood was really really great! The music also was awesome :) (a little splutter sound when falling into the water and the firemesh becoming invisible would have been nice :)) I felt the scale of the character in comparion to the environment was off, like I was waaayyy too small (that always happened to me as well while doing games in First Person View) Although fun, I feel like you could try to tweak the gameplay a bit more, as sometimes I could cheat my way through and sometimes it was a bit unfair, especially at the end when you're standing at this pole thing with the flag and try to jump to the pier of the lighthouse; I think there is some collider off or something because it's unmanageable :( I tried it 10 times or so before giving up, kind of a bummer :/ I'd recheck the collider there as this can be really frustrating and a game killer, and it should count as bugfix, so no harm done with the LD rules :) A very good choice of providing checkpoints btw :) Btw concerning the mood, I also really liked the animation of the waves and of the walking (how the limbs with the lantern move etc.) and the beginning scene before you press start (It's a shame the text didn#t really fit, maybe next time add a prettier Font, there are awesome free fonts online and some even would make for a great logo, you can just copy them into the Fonts file of Unity :)

Congrats on finishing your game <3

The HeartBeat by pomelouncia 2020-05-05T18:50:04Z

This was amazing and enraging at the same time. ;) The graphics were absolutely outstanding, the music was perfect and I can't believe what you managed to do by yourself in mere 3 days, wow! the idea is refreshing and cool, the storymode was awesome, together with the artstyle and music the mood was simply perfect. Such a good job. I'm impressed how you can come up with a storyline like that in 3 days! No wonder you're from a continent that comes up with 92834602394 great mangas/animes every year ^^ But FOR F***CKs sake, this is too hard, man!!!! ^^ Please realize the fact that non-Asian people's brains are way slower than yours xD just kidding. Sorry for the "positive racism" here. Still, it reaaaaally was too fast to grasp everything AND keep yourself alive, I feel like you could have divided some texts into 2 or 3 chunks of info instead of one :3 oooor summarize the whole paragraph at the bottom, or at every choice make a summary of what the effects are of that said choice :) Bottom line is: I'M A PERSON WHO WANTS TO READ EVERYTHING AND I COULDN'T! xD >o< What you definitely managed was giving me and adrenaline rush, haha. UI and interface also felt really polished btw. Such a great work, truly impressive! <3

Catch The Mouse keep it alive by GameOverMexico 2020-05-11T18:56:27Z

Quite cool entry with fun controls! :) I liked the graphics you chose and the sun made me laugh, lol I also liked that you didn't just chose obstacles that will kill you on hit, but rather different ones and some you can even jump on although the kill you pretty much all the other times. (Walnuts) I would have enjoyed it more if you didn't die and had to start all over, as I feel like this would fit your game better, as it's not really a "learn it by heart" level like for example Geometry dash, but maybe that's just personal preference. The music was nice, the game over sound a bit odd, I would choose a different one :) All in all cool game and because of the simple controls this would also make a cool mobile game I think!

RatJar by PolyOrbit Studio 2020-04-21T14:10:19Z

Wow so much great games on this LD :) This is by far one of my favourites. The graphics, post processing effects and camera dolly shots where amazing, the idea was very innovative and awesome, I also loved the little details like when you pushed that cart over and the apples (?) rolled over the floor, simply amazing! I just felt a bit stuck as soon as I didn't make the slope upwards, maybe have the rat move the jar by itself and you just navigating the direction? :) and after you get stuck make like a little pause and fade-in of speed until the rat moves in full speed again? Anyway, this game is a real gem, you can be proud of yourselfes :)

CAN you stay alive? by Gorypixels 2020-05-02T11:53:17Z

Great artstyle and idea, I love this "tiny world" thing :) I didn't really figure out what to do at first, and I think click and drag would have been a bit better to move the cam :) all in all, good job! The artstyle is amazing!

Prince of Al Harrah by dmarku 2020-04-22T19:48:22Z

Great Gameplay and great game overall. There's a lot of potential for expansion like more puzzles etc. Thanks for you entry.

Frozen April by Alex Karev 2020-04-24T17:07:17Z

Cute little collecting game. The assets and lighting were/was nice! The footsteps on the ground had a nice touch together with the sounds :) Pretty grim that you can burn your pal too, also that was like the first thing I tried I wonder if I should be concerned about that ^^ the music was sweet as well :) Did you do the character yourself? because it's a pretty smart rig - seperated meshes so you don' really have to paint weights a lot! Overall, nice job for a single person!

Finterior Decorator by illuminegames 2020-04-24T14:17:05Z

What a sweet game! Everything is so prettyyyy <3 the music is great too! A whole bunch of sweet assets! the fishies are so CUTE ahhh :D I like that you've implemented the unreal controls, however, it feels like I was stuck on a certain point of the y axis? that kind of felt weird and a tiny bit frutrating, because I would have liked to have like, you know, the unreal controls! :D

Still a great game, everything felt so polished, even the menu and credits were cute! the texts we're funny and the sticky notes also added a great touch :) nice!

LD50 — Delay the inevitable

50 Second Apocalypse by superpokeunicorn 2022-04-11T19:31:34Z

I think it's a cool idea to remake your first LD game.

The gameplay is really innovative and it was a lot of fun to play! It's great that when you die, the time turns back and you start from the beginning. Not only does it look nice it also encourages to keep playing another round :D

Overall very good. Thanks for your entry!

Putyn Invaders by Pio 2022-04-14T07:00:47Z

I like the take on the theme especially with the current events taking place.

I had a lot fun playing. The final boss "Putyn" is relatively easy to defeat compared to the other invading spaceships. If you align yourself in the center you can just hold the shoot button and defeat him without taking damage. (would be nice if it where that easy irl)

Overall great job. Thanks for your entry!

Adelie - Chasing Pavements by Meep 2022-04-08T11:27:01Z

"I'm in this picture and I don't like it. >=("

Just kidding, hehe. Saw your game on the stream and had to try myself with my boyfriend yesterday :) SO cute!!! And the character is basically our "game studio", so we had to try this!!

I love the idea of a cartridge game and aesthetics, the transitions were really nice :) Controller support would have been cool for the cartridge feel :id:

Sadly, we didn't make it to the ending yet, but will keep trying!

A very sweet little entry, congrats! :)

DeckHex by Iluvatar 2022-04-08T07:03:28Z

Wow what an amazing entry! The graphics, the audio, the fully voiced dialogues and everything plays together really well. This feels very polished and like a demo for a full game. Good job!

Electro Rush by Giardi 2022-04-09T14:58:38Z

Great take on the 3D Platformer genre! It would have been great to have a shadow for the character as this helps a lot in these kind of games to get some jumps right. Besides that the overall platforming leveldesign was top notch. The levels are design to teach the mechanics as you play and that's awesome!

There character and the animations are extremely nice!

Like most of the LD games, this game is pretty hard. Checkpoints would have been soooo nice!! I really liked the game and would have liked to see the end but the complete reset was a bit too frustrating - at least for me

Overall an amazing entry. Good job

Delayed Gratification by jessekaz 2022-04-14T11:40:54Z

Amazing that you wrote this from scratch in your own engine! The idea of the "goalBlob" (I know awful name ^^) approaching you is really funny and the speechbubbles make it even better!

There were a lot of occasions were I thought, "meh I wanted to see more of that level" so it makes a lot of sense that you added a "previous level" button. Very considerate!

Overall a very good entry!

Catronaut by fatPenguin 2022-04-05T01:48:08Z

@Gnome4 Thank you for trying our game! :) We like those tunes quite a lot as well, our very own talented @chriz did that! :)

It can be a little hard to get into, however, don't try to jump only often and short, you can also hold a little longer and your jump will be more powerfull (and while holding and draggin theres this line indicating where the jumo will go and how longer the line, the more powerful the jump)

So like, stand in front of a platform and calculate where you will jump :)

Thanks again for your comment! <3

Catronaut by fatPenguin 2022-04-05T02:00:58Z

@gnome4 oh almost forgot: additionally, you can jumo in midair as often as you want :)

So sometimes it's a good idea to jump more often in a short amount of time ;D

Brickroll by adrianafitz 2022-04-08T23:51:04Z

What a great idea to invert the bricks gameplay! That was really innovative and makes a lot of fun

The game is pretty hard and and some of the powerups can be merciless but I guess that suits the theme. Overall very nice :)

Outrun the future by Sibi 2022-04-08T19:46:26Z

Great Audio, Theme on point and nice Idea with the lanes taking damage instead of the player. Overall great and fun entry

Rapid Reentry by ygrichman 2022-04-10T14:40:57Z

Very interesting gameplay and everything fits really well together. The difficulty was a bit high for me but I still had a lot of fun :)

Thanks for your entry! Good job!

The End by pommicket 2022-04-08T23:03:22Z

A little slow paced but fun game  Good job especially for just one person!

Overheat by Dock Frankenstein 2022-04-09T14:00:16Z

First of all: Regarding the unity LTS - I feel you. We used the same version and also the URP and also had a lot of issues! This was very frustrating...

The game was a lot more fun than I was expecting. The checkpoints are reasonable and the controls feel responsive. Although I liked the game the part with the 3 blue speed platforms was to hard for me and I gave up

The overheating mechanic was a bit strange for me but I guess it fits the theme ;)

Overall nice entry. Good job :)

Dinosurvivor by YukimiItsuka 2022-04-05T09:06:01Z

Theme is on point. Controls & Gameplay is easy to understand and I really like the cute dinosaurs^^ overall a very good entry

Also the highscores are a great addition for this type of game

Word Wizard by Slecornu 2022-04-09T14:12:10Z

The sprites are amazing especially the wizard! The dictionary selection is a great idea and makes the game so much more fun.

Very cool concept! Thanks for your entry

Delaying the Waking World by EOShadows 2022-04-14T11:11:03Z

Very cute game and I really like your interpretation of the theme. The graphics, sounds and the atmosphere overall fit very well together and create a dreamy mood :)

Sometimes I was surprised by bullets spawning a little bit too close to my character which sometimes felt a bit unfair when they hit me out of the blue but besides that I really enjoyed playing the game! Good job!

Cosmic Castaway by Perrin 2022-04-08T07:55:25Z

Amazing that you made this alone! I love those classic point & click adventures and I think you did a really good job in reviving some of those nostalgic moments.

The controls were intuitive as they work the same as in most other games and the puzzles were great.

My only feedback would be that sometimes the text scrolled too fast for me and sometimes I would have liked to skip dialogues I already now. A nice to have feature would be highlighting of interactable spots.

Overall Great entry

Aliens...S by real_flamingicecubegames 2022-04-08T23:37:27Z

Wow that really was fun!

The cutscenes are really nice and although the gameplay was challenging it felt balanced/fair. Good Job!

Escape Grades by naplz 2022-04-05T08:37:40Z

 LOL great idea! I like the fun stuff you find around the house and the general idea of distracting from your grades (but at what cost^^).

Sometimes the text gets messed up when interacting to fast with different objects

PopCat Hoover Disaster by OrangeDragon 2022-04-09T12:39:53Z

The cats face is just hilarious  Very fun game! Good entry!

The Hero (...Always Wins) by Link270 2022-04-09T10:56:09Z

Although I'm really bad at the TD games I like to play them and It's great to see a TD entry at LD

The dialogue of the villian is very funny and the TD gameplay feels great. The UI is very self explanatory and the tooltips are helpful. As I stated before I'm not good at TD games and was soon overrun by the hero but I had lots of fun playing :)

Overall a great entry - good job!

Indestructible Paws by GameBucha 2022-04-08T22:50:40Z

Nice graphics and interesting conecept with the 2 in one games.

The fish cannon was a bit weird to aim but maybe I just didn't get the controls.

overall nice entry. good job and stay safe!

IBYH!? by Trabasura 2022-04-08T10:43:38Z

Wow, a really cool entry! :D I love those warioware minigames!

(Btw: you can totally cheat with "stay up" when you just press jump all the time :D)

Really very creative and I'm amazed with the amount of minigames you we're able to do in this short amount of time! also, dog was cute ^.^

There probably wasn't any time left, but it would have been cool to see the drawing of the characters more often :) maybe like even a storymode (doesn't need (a lot, if at all) animations, but like show the drawings while they are talking or something like that

Good job, guys!!

Giraffe o'Clock by Kepsert 2022-04-09T12:37:49Z

Amazing well polished game! The difficulty increase between the levels felt very balanced and the later jumps were quite challenging. I'm looking forward for the commercial release to see what happens after that last dance

I played with controller except for the dance sections. The dance controls are just sooo much easier with a keyboard than with a controller.

Again - amazing entry & Good Job!

M O R E by BoroBoro 2022-04-14T11:24:38Z

I mostly roamed the main area as the area to the right costs a lot of time to access. The game is simple but fun - good job :)

Watch Your Step by Rhanzoc 2022-04-09T13:40:27Z

Nice and short game :) Camera controls would have been nice but besides that the controls were solid.

The Last Guardian of Some Orbs by Klumaster 2022-04-10T19:45:47Z

I really want to know what happens after 95 but I'm just to slow

Graphics are great and the bg music and sounds are great too. I was only missing some visual feedback for my HP - or did I miss an UI element? Also I was having a hard time because I couldn't see the enemies behind the speechbubble of ZARBROX THE AGELESS.

Overall very good entry! I had lots of fun playing it :) good job!

Morituri by omgitsleana 2022-04-09T13:33:39Z

Very nice game with a kind of bitter/sad take on the theme. The game felt very polished and you can be proud of it especially considering this is your first gamejam!

Overall very nice entry. Good job!

SHAMAN, DO SOMETHING! by Georgii Gerasimov 2022-04-09T12:58:25Z

I like the graphics of the environment and the general mood/setting. The explanation on the spell cards and the tooltips over the huts were quite helpful but I also tried to cast the spells on the villagers instead of the huts

One thing (maybe a bug): I selected a spell but instead of casting the spell I opened the spellmenu again and chose a different spell. The first spell was lost after without ever being cast.

The audio fits the theme and the overall mood very well. Overall nice entry! Good job :)

Happy Blast! by Smash City 2022-04-08T08:21:46Z

The game instantly reminds of doodle jump or similar games. So the good news is the audio was working fine for me but at some point I got stuck between to platforms

Don't worry - Overall you did a good job, especially for only 1 person :)

Nice to have: If I move out of the screen it would be nice to reappear on the other side.

Dave's Diet by ASize7Shoe 2022-04-11T19:12:21Z

I loved the chill vibe with the relaxing music and the animation in the startmenu xD

Great take on the theme! The gameplay is simple but fun :)

Overall a great entry :)

Muzketeerz by Lord Shulky 2022-04-05T09:52:09Z

Cool entry! Although the controls are very hard - I often made mistakes  - The overall mechanics are really fun and innovative.

By kiting the zombies around the level I managed to stay alive really long :)

LD52 — Harvest

Call of the Harvest by Iak 2023-01-15T17:10:19Z

The watering can is brutal  The artstyle looks really cute and I love that you managed to create some animations and tell a story. The core gameplay has some strong Undertale vibes which I really liked!

Overall very well done. Thanks for your entry

Fruit Market Express by benk 2023-01-15T17:00:08Z

Very cool entry! I really liked this minigame and tried to beat my score a couple of times (only managed to get about 96$)

I noticed 2 little bugs while playing. 1.)After losing the first round, one of the customers that already had a filled cart didn't move (so that was one easy dollar for the next round ) 2.) If I click the sell button fast enough I can sell the items twice (customers never complained though)

Again very nice entry. I had lots of fun =)

Goblo The Harvester by Tricky_Fat_Cat 2023-01-15T19:08:50Z

Wow what an amazing entry! You created so much content in such a short time and on top of that in such a high quality. The leveldesign is highly professional and the main character looks great (these holes in the ears )!

I always tried to get everything in every level but in the third level (I'm pretty sure it was the third but maybe it was the fourth level) I was very frustrated with one of the coins. There was a blue floating platform that traveled along a line of coins. By standing on the platform, I collided with all coins and therefore collected all coins - except for one measly coin! I tried moving, jumping even some suicide attempts but couldn't get it. Maybe the players speed is too high while on the platform for the coin to be collected? It wouldn't have bugged me so much if I didn't like the entry so much^^

So except for this one coin I very much enjoyed your entry! Very good! Thanks for your entry.

Harvest Pen by Roroto Sic 2023-01-15T16:43:45Z

Nice entry. I played through the 5 Levels and enjoyed the drawing mechanic the game is build around. Level 5 was kinda tricky as you have to be quite fast to grab a color and draw before the banana falls to the ground.

Performance wise I had some troubles. The game runs smoothly on 144fps until I harvest a fruit, after that the frames drop below 10 and the framerate only recovers after the fruit is collected (or a level restart).

Besides that I really enjoyed the game
