Well, I'm not sure I would classify this as a game, more like a short story in a video format with two button presses. Its nice to see people use music in their games so that was a definitive plus. It would have been more like a game if the player could have controlled the boat :(

Nice work anyway!

mrspeaker 2017-05-01 13:17

I liked the little story, and the L/D islands. But I'd have that text type at double the speed... even if it would make the story even shorter xD

generictoast 2017-05-01 16:08

Even though it's a story and not really a game, i still enjoyed the experience. Would have liked if the story was longer. Being able to click to speed up the text would also have been nice and added some more interactivity.

james-dunlap 2017-05-01 18:09

It was confusing that at the end, I just got a blank screen. I was waiting for more, but nothing ever came...

I enjoyed the music, though.

coderdozer 2017-05-01 18:19

Thank you all for the play and reviews so far.

I have on occasion in the web version seen the blank screen for the closing credits when there should be text. I don't know why that is happening.

nilanjan 2017-05-01 18:47

I liked the simplistic style but I was really hoping for more in the gameplay department. But then I realized that you were gunning for narrative in this game and I must admit that you've achieved what you're going for. Overall good job :)

zaibakk 2017-05-01 19:42

The mood was good, it miss only a bit of gameplay! :) Good job anyway! :D

justinm 2017-05-01 20:11

Like you said not really a game but more of a story, would be interested to see where you would take this if you had more time and added gameplay. Music was great as well really fitting of the art style you went with.

frodewin 2017-05-01 21:59

I liked the opening and the LD islands. I was waiting for the story to unfold and building up suspense and thus was a bit surprised when it ended without a conclusion. The graphics and sounds are good, it would be interesting if you further develop this into a game!

fatpenguin 2017-05-02 17:06

Like most of the people here, I was a bit surprised when the game so suddenly ended^^ But overall you created a complete experience with story, sound and I truly liked the message you delivered

jaenis 2017-05-02 19:59

I really liked the atmosphere you had in the game. Maybe this was just a prelude for a much bigger thingy!

ectucker1 2017-05-02 23:36

You weren't lying about the short part. But I liked the animation and music of this.

Some of the elements, like the text bubbles, could certainly be used for the narrative you want to add. I hope that goes well for you.

rixud 2017-05-05 07:30

nice short short story! i like the music, no so much to comment because was an story and not a game, but congratulation for submitting something !

themadstrauss 2017-05-07 14:52

As everybody is saying.. I liked the final words. You also put a effort doing it even if it is not literally a videogame. Nice job!

mhaton 2017-05-07 17:12

Very cute :) Not exactly a game, but appreciate the effort nonetheless, and I totally get not having time to do more. Hope you have time next event!

shiitman 2017-05-08 13:39

Graphics are cute. You could make some mini-games with the ship, to diversify the experience.

dagegen 2017-05-14 09:39

I really like the style of your game. The graphics and music are nice. Like someone else has already mentioned a button to speed up the text would have been nice.

conrad123 2017-05-14 12:28

Nice job! I really loved the audio. This really diverges from what most people used for the theme, and I like it. :)

ysty 2017-05-14 14:06

A nice little story. The text could maybe have been a touch faster to come up. I like the music. :)

g12345 2017-05-14 15:20

Nice little story, also really atmospheric graphics, nice audio too, and nice message of the "game".

josh-riley 2017-05-14 17:03

Really like the sound and pacing. Wish it was longer, but you really nailed the mood.

garethiw 2017-05-15 09:46

Awww, that was a sweet little story with a nice message :)

Would have been nice to see what you would have done with more time, but to submit a thing is better than not submitting a thing! The music and the slow fades did make for a good bit of atmosphere as well.

budaniel 2017-05-16 05:40

I liked the L and D islands for Ludum Dare, and the narrative was ok, but I usually kind of like more gameplay in my games. It actually - in a weird way - reminded me of the FMV games from the 90s, where you basically just pressed a key at a particular time to make the game continue.

pascalman 2017-05-16 20:05

Very nice game, good job!

unclechris 2017-05-16 21:30

Very cool experience, not a real game. But, I enjoyed your music, seemed better than mine! LOL

mathijs750 2017-05-16 22:38

Not much of a game, but I liked the message it has. I'd like to see some further development of this.

lone-spelunker 2017-05-17 06:20

Hmm. I tried to play this game in Safari, and after "Downloading..." it just says "Failure during startup, see Javascript console."

Here's what the javascript output was from the console. (Sorry, don't mean to spam the comments, but I figure you'd want to be able to trace this.)
