Programmer of the game here, In this build of the game the win condition is missing. (I got sick during the jam, so many features are missing) You were supposed to win if you got to a certain height, and than you would see a screen with your character crushing the earth. Assume you win if the character goes out of frame.
Once again you I find myself enjoying office work. 9/10 would sign/seal/deliver again.
Currently the game is a bit on the boring side. The underling concept really makes this. Keep at it, the post jam version is already a lot more fun. Would steal letters again
I got a score of 15, a lamp spawned right on me. That felt really unfair. Like the creepy atmosphere and art.
very cute, it's had to believe why anyone would want to eat such a cute thing.
Creative concept, good humor.
Very cute artsyle. I'm also stuck after the tutorial.
One of the better kraken games. I love the "my leg" spongebob gag. The tentacle is very responsive so I can pretend to be an ninja kraken. Also a nice difficulty progression. Would punch again.
10 van de 10 meeuwen. Would play again
Quite hard. The tank bullet feel a bit unfair due to their small size. Nice you added an upgrade system.
EAT MY FRUIT BITCH!! I was completely sure what I was supposed to be doing. 4/4 would eat again.
Boss battle of the year. Genius to use literal buttons. Would fish-stick again.
Nice gameplay concept. A bit difficult for me.
@NoWandStudios Thanks for the bug report. A game over screen should have triggered when you hit the tower.
@Si1ver hold down the right mouse button until the blue bar is full.
Our game shares some elements. You are a clever person for agreeing with us.
I'm sure I've missed something.
Nice sound design. It took me a while to figure out how to get lower on the surface. I almost flew back to orbit a few times. But I landed. Would make giant leaps again.
Nice animations. The music works quite well.
The controls where a bit weird on a qwerty-keyboard. I like the graphics. Would definitely play again (with 360 pad)
I only found the how to play button on my second try. I miss some feedback when I take damage. Fun concept.
Daring art style, very moody. The story transitions are a bit abrupt but I can imagine that was a debilitate choice. Please follow up on the cliffhanger.
It gets a bit hard after the tree is 5 layers tall. The gameplay concept is very original but it could be explained better.
Nice you took the time to read out the text. This is a wonderful mechanic, however am terrible at memorizing the combinations. You get my vote.
Not much of a game, but I liked the message it has. I'd like to see some further development of this.
Nice moody game. I didn't care much for the backtracking so the ending remains a mystery to me. I like the flavoured the ingame tutorial.
The game gets hectic fast, and I like it. Nice to have a video tutorial in there. The order system is a bit on the finicky side though.
The abilities are a cool concept, but I feel they could have used a bit more pollish. I got stuck at the end of level 1 when I needed to use the bouncy power. The music and art are charming.
It gets hectic really damn fast. A fun bug/feature I found was negative levels, which gives you a place to practice while also being condescending. It turns into a spamfest quickly but is sure gives you the same workout you would get when escaping a real whirlpool. :cloud_tornado:
I love how I want to take care of the little peeps while simultaneously smashing them to pulp. The game gets hectic fast, but at some point the tension was lost and I smashed them all to pulp. Really endearing art-style and music choice.
Not sure if it was intentional or not, but I like how you have to reset the oxygen meter to give yourself more time. The jumping and hit detection feels a bit unfair.
I like the concept, it reminds me a litle of the childrens book [Erik of het klein insectenboek](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Erik_of_het_klein_insectenboek). The concept of blueberries as gradual power ups works well. The game got a bit too hard at the end when the big ant queen started chasing me. Although it also felt a bit like the controls were at fault too. :ant:
Funny and ludicrously fast paced brawler. The fish character is my favorite. There is not much else to the game, but that keeps it fun and entertaining.
I took me a few tries to figure out what I was supposed to be doing. After an "aha"-moment with the into screen I enjoyed myself immediately. I like the use of colour and the calm music. The character could move a bit faster though. :blossom:
The game could use a better indicator about where your plasma ball(?) is going to hit. I like the little viking dude though.
sceen.PNG One other minor gripe is the wasted screen space. Just look at all that blue space begging to be turned into a cave .
The concept has a lot of potential. I love the artstyle and music. The gameplay was a bit on the difficult side, which felt a bit misplaced given the style and narrative. I'm looking forward to further developments.
I enjoyed myself a lot with this one. The controls and frame-based animation feel very solid and polished. The obstacles are well spaced out and the game feels fair. One thing that could use improving is the fail state, right now your mistakes stack and after 3(?) hits you restart the zone. I feel like this could have been time based, so your mistake in the beginning of the zone doesn't make the end impossible.
One of the games I legitimately laughed out loud for. I reached 118 bunnies max before they surrounded me. As others have said the controls are a bit weird but that didn't hamper my enjoyment. :rabbit:
Fun little platformer. The camera could use some love, it feels too snappy in tight spaces and too slow when you fall down a pit. As others have said level 4 is very difficult, I think that is partially because how the controls and camera work. I liked the in-game tutorial, but the text should have been 2D, the parallax on the letters mad it hard to read.
Funny take on the theme, the game over screens are really amusing. I like the well executed pixel art aesthetic. The minigames where fun, but the interaction controls left a bit to be desired. For instance setting the weight was very difficult.
Not sure how the energy recharge thing worked, but in the end I didn't need it. I like the low poly art, and the attention to detail with the particles. The gun and robot's could use use more audible feedback.
Interesting mechanic, it adds quite a bit of replay-ability. The flying works with a gamepad but feels a bit more clunky than the keyboard. Getting too ambitious is something I can relate to, so I understand the lack of audio.
I like the music and unique art-style, the mix between renders and pixel art is interesting. However I was very confused about how to play in the beginning. The fact that you could hold batteries for infinite ammo could have been explained a bit more organically. At level 5 I got bored and stopped playing. I'd like to see more of this game after some more polish.
I got 33. Well executed visuals. I missed the power meter on my first few runs though.
Right away the game feels very polished, though seeing you've used an asset pack I'm not sure how much you made during the jam. I found an interesting bug where I fell out the world when pressing `F` after I sat in the pilot chair. I also got stuck in the floor (I think) after a few trips to the pilot chair. The soundscape in the rest of the submarine feels very tense, well done. One of the better games I've played, though it is a bit buggy right now.
Trash bins unite :wastebasket:. Wave 4 was my personal best. I really liked the physical screenshake, and use of particles.
Nice in-game tutorial. I enjoyed this one a lot! At a score of 20000 the game started to lag and it felt like I hit a skill ceiling.
That roy easter egg though . Fun concept, good execution.
I have no idea how to play this game. It starts, sprites move, some numbers go up and I'm back at the title screen. Art wise the game looks fine, but the lack of explanation makes it unplayable.
The best game I've played thus far. It is really ambitious to do a detective game in such a short time but you have pulled it off. I liked the conclusion. As others have said adding a changing cursor would make the pixel hunting a bit easier, but after the first room I didn't have any difficulty finding clues. The character models have a goofy charm to them. Well done!
The game could have used an undo button, without it making one mistake is much more punishing than it needs to be. I stopped playing at level 4 because restarting the whole level over and over again became too tedious. The webGl build runs nice and smooth (and pulling that off is easier said than done :p). It has the potential to be an nice puzzle game, but right now Iām more frustrated than entertained.
@grentacular thanks for the feedback. The windows build is the original jam version. The webGL version has fixed the inverted y-axis, and some other rendering issues. We're working on a fixed standalone version right now, since quite a lot of people are having issues with the web version.
We have uploaded fixed standalone builds of the game. Hopefully this makes it possible to play the game for the people that have issues with the webGL version.
Unfortunately I could only play in loner mode. The fullscreen didn't play nice with my absurd monitor setup, but that is more my fault . The mechanic is very interesting so I'll definitely try it with a second player. Something to show progression would probably make the game even better.
I tried it out in an emulator (no way I'm downloading random apk's from the web on my phone) and I could not get past the start screen. Any chance you can make a windows and/or webGl build?
Controlling the wrecking ball was difficult but in a fun way. The webGL version stuttered a bit, but from experience I know that making webGL builds is hard . The soundtrack was very nice.
Granny helped 15 cats before she lost her mind. I like the concept but the controls make the game very difficult. I felt like Granny-tank who needed to rev up her engine before she could get moving. Also in the webGL version the game doesn't properly restart when I press the restart button. The Gertrude model is fantastic though!
I could repeat what others have said, but that wouldn't help you much. Still impressive for 12 hours with sickness though. Looking forward to the post jam version.
The dropbox link is broken
The link works now. A few things stood out to me. The shovel hit only seems to work from the side, so hitting the spider things than move in from the bottom is much more difficult that it needs to be. Also if you are putting in a score system, it's nice to see the final score in the gameover screen so you can brag about it in the comments. I liked the character art and the music. Solid first time entry.
The link is still dead
Love that drunkenness effect! Fits the theme well. As others have mentioned, the music get repetitive after a while. Nice game.
Oh boy, I didn't expect the genitalia. This is not really my type of game, but I appreciate the effort you put in.
Nice "whoa dude" game. Finding more pills after number 6 proved impossible so the ending remains a mystery to me. I like the music a lot, although I wish the audio source was 2D. It felt weird how the music seems to come out of the wall.
Great first effort. I got to 141 before cubey died.
I made a more playable version. The old build is still available
Great music, very funny! The player feedback was a bit lacking. I couldn't tell when I hit a note or not. The constant particles were also a bit distracting. I'd love to see a more polished version of this.
Very calm and moody atmosphere. Well done
