I love the abilities but sometimes the sticky one is hard to use, the game looks really good. Nice entry overall.

Fun little game. Graphics were really nice - especially the cute little jellies.

Music worked and set the mood nicely, but I do wish there were more other sounds to fill out the atmosphere.

A couple of things though: * Is the yellow jelly supposed to shoot jelly on the wall? Doesn't help my jumping when it's on the wall, so I got stuck on the fourth level because I could not reach the high platform. * Sometimes my jelly would stop dead on the floor, and I'd have to jiggle myself free with the arrow keys. Some hitboxes for the floor may be slightly raised?

Overall, though, I did enjoy the experience, and it was a great little Jam game.

The abilities are a cool concept, but I feel they could have used a bit more pollish. I got stuck at the end of level 1 when I needed to use the bouncy power. The music and art are charming.

You've got a very professional look but the main mechanics could use a little polishing. I also found the sticky mechanic hard to use, and it'd be nice to have some sound effects for the various abilities.

It's certainly a neat concept of changing your ability on the fly. I would stop moving randomly on the floor though which messed up the flow of the game.

The music was pretty good as well as the graphics.

Being able to place the special goo most places in the world was nice. It felt like some really nifty puzzles could be created that would be decently challenging.

redblack-spade 2017-05-03 12:40

Haha loved the concept! The idea with changing color is pretty original but it was hard to "feel" the character - it jumps really slow and falls down like all the game takes place on the moon. Also using a "green" ability was a real pain for me - it was to hard not to fall down because of that low jump. Level design also can be better - you've got an ability to create a really good puzzle! But still there are too much free space on the level. But still I enjoyed the game. This game is much better then many of others in here and doesn't look like it was made in 3 days, it was fun to play it. Thanks!

Love the idea of the four different styles of overcoming challenges, but the control style could use some work. Pressing the same key to have different effects, especially while trying to use WASD to control your character can feel like a game of finger twister. You may consider using the keys as a toggle and the other hand as activate, like enter or a mouse click.

ethereal-psyche-games 2017-05-04 06:49

@huminaboz Thanks for the feedback! WASD is not designed to be used to movement, the arrows are intended to be used for the movement. But thanks to your comment we know that WASD is activated too xD

Thanks!

The idea here is really good, this could turn into a hectic platformer with 4x the gameplay depth of the successful existing ones.

In it's current state, it's playable and fun but it needs a bit of tightening up. The jumps were a little too 'floaty' for me and some of the abilities (mostly sticky) were hard to use right without failing a bunch of times.

Past that, the only real problem I had with the game is I think the UI is a bit too big and invasive. I was worried going in that I wouldn't know what buttons did what, but I had the opposite problem =)

As far as art and sound - everything was spot on. The germs looked cute and the jelly effect of the animation was fitting.

Overall a really solid entry that just needs a bit of tweaking!

Really good graphics, and great use of the theme. I too had some difficulty with getting hung up on floors and walls at times, but it was nothing that prevented me from completing the levels presented. Great job!

breno-m 2017-05-04 16:58

Nice platformer. I agree with @burgee, the gravity is a bit low. The controls are nice, but maybe WASD/arrows for movement and mouse scroll for selecting the skill would be a good option to consider. The art is very good, specially the character and UI. The music is good as well.

mrerdalural 2017-05-04 17:10

Controls need a lot of polishing but i liked the general game mechanics. Concept you choose is a unique one that also a +. I liked what you created overall. Thank you for making this game!

icxon 2017-05-04 21:03

Can't open the last door and contols are unpredicted sometimes (especially sticky one). Enemies do not harm, it seems. I was thinking about "Tag: The Power of Paint" game, but for sure this one is different.

Nice menu opening, consistent art and music.

I did a playthrough: https://youtu.be/vgg5i8zx30w and found couple of bugs (auto-climbing / secret wall at last level). It was fun to play, but game requires some polishing. Thank you.

vivoubos 2017-05-04 21:53

Nice concept!! I liked it! There is just one problem with collision with the wall, and the sticky ability. But audio graphism are great. Bravo! :)

ethereal-psyche-games 2017-05-04 21:57

@icxon Thanks for the feedback! We have seen that sticky skill is a painfull skill for everyone so we are trying to polish that but out of the ludum we dont have enought time to do xD

Thanks for the video/playthrough/bug report (xD)!

veryeviltomato 2017-05-04 22:05

Pretty nice concept although a little hard to handle from time to time! Music was kinda too intense for the cute nature the game tried to have so I didn't like it that much, gameplay was good but like most people say it needed polishing, graphics were decent although I didn't like so much the tileset. Nice entry! Btw our game is also about something bad inside the human body, just that instead of a little germ it's a virus :D

samusoidal 2017-05-04 22:51

A little bit tricky with the controls (specifically sticky), but nice graphics and good concept. Good job!

yyam 2017-05-05 00:53

Cool game! The graphics are really great, I also like how you've got so many mechanics. Needs a bit of polish but overall nice job :)

bladesides 2017-05-06 09:36

Awesome music and art! Some abilities need polish though! Overall, good!

ccglp 2017-05-06 14:28

Good work guys, like the others I like the graphic style and the level design (many ways to solve the levels). Although is true that the sticky ability is hard to use.

kleinzach 2017-05-06 16:16

The character controls were wonky at times, but I really like the whole idea with all of the abilities. My recommendation with the levels would be to avoid blind jumps, which there were quite a few of. The only way I could do some of them was trial and error, and without checkpoints that got very tedious.

richard-michael-smith 2017-05-07 09:25

As mentioned above there are a few little issue with the controls (getting stuck to the floor, wall jumping, etc.) but this is a solid idea that reminds me of the colourful games on the Amiga (such as James Pond and Zool). The music loop is a little short and gets a bit repetitive but again - these are just minor niggles. Excellent work!

peachtreeoath 2017-05-09 06:50

I liked the careful thought you put into the abilities and designing the levels around them. Others have mentioned the UI as problematic, but honestly I thought it was great. I'm glad you put the ability text right by the button because I was staring at this page's instructions for a long time trying to memorize them. Great art style you have here, everything is so consistent!

blackrose 2017-05-12 00:11

Its a really fun game! i like the concept and the art. The sticky ability works strange. Love the little jelly :3
