LD38 — A Small World

Abaddon by Geckoo1337 2017-05-04T21:38:25Z

This is amazing, easily one of my favorites of the Jam so far. I generally don't like FPS games, but you really hooked me in with the art style. VERY high marks.

Protolife by icxon 2017-05-04T22:01:19Z

I see a lot of people liking this a lot, but I couldn't wrap my head around it super quickly, maybe that's more on me than you...anyway, congrats on making this, even if it isn't my thing it's got TONS of polish and little art flourishes that look super cool!

Dean's World by Laguna 2017-05-05T21:33:38Z

I can't believe how complete this concept is. Great job, especially on the fog of war/tile appearing effect. I think this is one of the hidden gems of this Ludum Dare

Where is mommy? by jQnas 2017-05-01T10:05:47Z

Very cool! Got a definite Silent Hill vibe from the music which was VERY well done. I'm not a huge fan of the voxel style personally, but I was surprised to find I couldn't put down the game until I had solved the puzzle! Well done!

What's sub? by Satyre 2017-05-02T18:43:24Z

Wow - really solid entry for only a day's work! I really dug the music, and the lighting effect on the sub gun shots was neat!

Snoozle Pooz by mathijs750 2017-05-02T19:05:37Z

Pretty much everything about this game is perfect. The only thing that would make it better would be the ability to select from a couple different cats, especially a black cat. Otherwise, pat yourself on the back because I love this.

Flight Club by dj_pale 2017-05-04T21:26:14Z

An interesting idea for a game, but I had a little trouble discerning how to play in the (admittedly) little time I had to play it. Props for porting to Mac AND Linux!

A Tower in the Mists by sorlok 2017-05-05T21:52:33Z

I really appreciate the work that went into the battle system, you did a great job. I want to play a lot of games, so I don't get much time to spend with each one, but if you wanted to keep going with this i would suggest making the combat a little more fast paced, maybe like a rhythm game instead of pure turn-based? Still, very cool to see a complete jRPG-style game done in 72 hrs, even if you are using pre-made assets.

Bacteria Fighter by Ryuko13 2017-05-02T18:56:29Z

Cool! I often wish there were more shooters on LD. Just as a suggestion, you should give the player some way to get out of dying if they accidentally let a monster through. I hope you compete again!

Murder 38 - Episode One: A Small World by rodobodolfo 2017-05-04T21:44:34Z

This game is, quite frankly, amazing for an LD entry. The level of polish you've achieved here is amazing.

MARBLE GALAXY by Connorses 2017-05-02T23:13:10Z

Has an interesting look, it would be nice if there was some music though.

The Adventure of Malvin by NOFUEL 2017-05-04T23:01:43Z

Adorable game! I had a little trouble getting the wall jump mechanic to work consistently though.

MagiSEED by Vivoubos 2017-05-04T23:13:37Z

I almost let the artwork put me off, and I'm glad I didn't! What a clever little platformer!

Neuroso by gamechoy 2017-05-04T21:33:49Z

Top notch job on the music, very moody.

Inside Inc. by OWC 2017-05-02T19:49:43Z

Love the art style - reminds me of something from the SNES!

It's a Small World, So Let's Crash It into Things by simonhutchinson 2017-05-02T19:40:10Z

Really funny concept, but I wish there was just slightly more to the gameplay. I had to avoid the darkstar once and it was really intense and fun! Then I got huge and smashed it, too, haha. Very well done for the compo!

Until Tomorrow by MSiddeek 2017-05-02T23:22:37Z

Very meta. I loved the artwork, particularly the overworld tiles!

Our little island by tinyworlds 2017-05-02T22:00:21Z

A relentlessly cute little game. I really dig it, but your little mans needs an adorable little walk animation!

D4RK and the Small Worlds by abhimonk 2017-05-06T16:23:35Z

Pretty neat game! I like the little sword swing animations.

Get Off My Land! by cdp_games 2017-05-02T19:27:56Z

An interesting idea, might be more fun with real people.

Small World Fighters by noddingTortoise 2017-05-05T21:38:09Z

One of the better uses of the theme that I've seen, but I think I'd like it better if the jump was a smooth ascent instead of snapping into the highest position. Well done all the same!

Galaxy Glove by merlyboy 2017-05-02T18:15:08Z

Very cool how there's lots of animation! It would be kind of nice to have a little music next time so they can rock to the beat!

Time Loop by wellingtonbecker 2017-05-04T22:26:37Z

I liked this a lot, and ended up getting sucked in the by the gameplay! I ended up beating quite a few levels once I got the hang of it! The only thing I would say is that would be cool if there were a couple of different tilesets. Well done!

Jelly Germ by Ethereal Psyche Games 2017-05-02T19:11:38Z

You've got a very professional look but the main mechanics could use a little polishing. I also found the sticky mechanic hard to use, and it'd be nice to have some sound effects for the various abilities.

The Dwarf Planet by keckles 2017-05-06T05:57:57Z

I'm not much for these crafting type games but you get maximum points for theme. It doesn't get much more small world than dwarf planet!

Newton's Cannon by xykvy 2017-05-04T22:44:39Z

Man, I am blown away that you did this for the compo. Well done, a very cool arcade style game with lots of charm and polish. Hats off.

Don't Make Me Stop This Car! by UncleChris 2017-05-04T23:08:50Z

Cutting features always sucks, but you should be proud for crossing the finish line! Unlike me in your game, I killed too many people in highway accidents :(

Invaders of Yekithar by skippuku 2017-05-02T19:23:14Z

Would have been a good idea for a coin-op back in the day!

Wake Up ! by GoZz 2017-05-06T16:14:27Z

I loved the art style and the aesthetic, has a very limbo kind of feel to it!

Lil Planet by BladeSides 2017-05-06T06:19:19Z

I liked this a lot, just a really fun arcade style game, with adorable art to boot! It does get a bit boring after a while though, if some monsters chased the player and you could only kill them by lining up the space debris, it would be really cool! Well done!

Roguelike One by Chris Otey 2017-05-06T08:09:04Z

very cool concept although it might be nice if the world was a little bigger, and if you could aim a little easier. Sweet entry none the less!

Ghostscaling by STUDIOCRAFTapps Developpement 2017-05-02T23:31:35Z

I like the design of the ghost, but I wish he was animated a little bit more. It feels like maybe this needed a little more time. I tried a little, but I couldn't figure out what to do in the first level.

Horizons by Joseph Benton 2017-05-02T18:49:35Z

Despite being racist towards green people ("I recommend shooting them") it was a cute and fun platformer and i really enjoyed the gravity based gameplay!

Statera by Kristian David 2017-05-06T16:09:10Z

An impressive amount of polish for LD. I'm always amazed when people take on sim games and the like. Well done!

Stardust - A space adventure by shiitman 2017-05-04T23:45:45Z

Really, really dug the art style. It looks like some stuff is being anti-aliased still, maybe.

Legend of Helda: Breath of the Mild by Bryan Livingston 2017-05-02T18:26:21Z

I tried to play the game but my super low end system couldn't handle it. Sorry. :(

Dispyria by Tat2Tim 2017-05-04T21:35:11Z

Oh my goodness! I stepped away for a while to come back surprised to all these comments! Thank you all so much!

Dispyria by Tat2Tim 2017-05-04T21:49:46Z

Oh and also, I really appreciate anybody that pointed out bugs. I'm going to see what the policy is on bugfixing and try to get a better build up.

Angry Worlds by MeronSoda 2017-05-02T18:21:37Z

A very cool little platformer! If the art style was a little more consistent it would be at least as good as many of the mascot games I used to play back in the 90's.

Snail Fighter by Marccio Silva 2017-05-02T19:32:17Z

Think you did a wonderful job, love the graphics, also like the way the bullets loop around, that's a nice touch. Well done!

Invasion by mmKALLL 2017-05-04T23:49:30Z

Very impressive that this was your first JS game.

Beware The Idiots by Gris 2017-05-01T09:42:50Z

You really nailed the humor! Very amusing, and props for completing the compo!

Diminishing Lands by drazil100 2017-05-04T21:57:12Z

Very cool game! Loved the music and the graphical feel in general. Would be nice if there were some kind of critters or other obstacles to navigate, though.

AXL-5 by PUARSLIBURF 2017-05-06T08:04:14Z

Excellent. It is such a treat to play such a complete, polished game. I sat down and saw all the levels and though 'man it feels kinda bad skipping all this content...' but I found myself hooked up until the last level. Well done.

Icebearino by friday 2017-05-02T18:53:34Z

The penguin noise was the best choice you made, hilarious! Interesting gameplay, but I couldn't quite get the hang of it in the short time I played it.

Naziverse by furazin 2017-05-02T21:54:16Z

Pretty cool arcade style shooter! Needs bosses though!

Stable Orbit by mrspeaker 2017-05-02T19:16:23Z

Very well done. Wish there was a way to count the laps!

Moonbase-LD38 by Infinitea 2017-05-02T18:33:56Z

It was a little tough for me to figure out what to do or what was going on. I'm not really a hardcore RTS person though. Congrats on completing your game though!

This is my spot by k8n 2017-05-02T18:29:43Z

Very silly indeed. Much like life, things seem to work out best if you're the one doing the kicking.

AstroGunner by KabalaTrance 2017-05-02T21:26:27Z

Holy Hannah this is cool! I don't know if there's much more variation in the enemy times, but I really liked the controls, defending my lil' planet from those eyeball jerkwads. Really cool!

Tiny Buckler by feltip 2017-05-04T23:32:41Z

Very neat, but I think maybe you should throw the shield less far and maybe zoom the camera in a little, it felt kind of sparse when the levels were smaller.
