Looks fun looking at the vídeo. I'll try the game at home.
I like the complexity generated by the simple actions and the peace through violence concept.

Hey there, I forgot you have a Ludum dare page sorry I did not send the video link here. Anyone who has not seen the game yet I do recommend it, you got to be fast for this one.
YouTube: Fellowplayer https://youtu.be/RJr1ZXLTmlw
From what I've seen on YouTube, it looks good. The slimes are adorable! I will give it a shot when you finish the mac or web version.
Unfortunately, a plugin i used in my game doesnt allow my game to have a web version but I will try to change some assets in the game after the judging period so the game can have a web version. I will try to create a mac version later or tomorrow.
MAC VERSION IS NOW HERE:

I just finished playing. The game feels really good to play. First round I shot everything on sight (oops), but after that it went pretty well. I got a good chance to see all the beautiful effect you put in the game. You did a very good job! :-)
Haha feels like a god. I enjoyed the game so much. You can add many fun powerups to it. You did well. Good luck with your entry.
Really fun game. I had to drag myself away from this one. The game is easy to learn but hard to master, and I can see myself playing more of this, even after judging ends. Good work!
Neat! I love all of the particle effects and different animal animations.
Despite the fact that you say you didn't do your own 3D models, the overall aesthetic seems to come together in a really nice way. The gun sound seems a bit over the top to me, but perhaps that intentional (and perhaps we'd hear that differently with background music).
Keep up the good work!
Great game! I like the graphics and effects. The gameplay is good, it gets a bit complicated after sometime though. But I like the idea, great work! Keep it up.
I really like the idea of this game, with the rock/paper/scissors predator/prey model going on, with the player as the smiter to keep control. I made it 161 seconds once I figured out what to do, I forgot about the Meteor option, that would have really helped once the exponential explosions started. Nice look and scrolling around the world, I always knew how many of each animal there were, even if I couldn't see them. Great concept!
Also, I played it on my mac, and I had to go into the app folder and reset the permissions of the executable in order to run it. Not sure if that was just me or if others had that problem.
The planet was nice, and the concept was interesting. I didn't feel the need to intervene for a long time, until the slime population got out of control. In fact, I think the game is best played by mostly leaving it alone, which is kind of odd. Maybe try starting the player out with a population crisis to get things moving faster.
Great entry! An original idea, nice graphics, really fun to play. I found myself wanting to kill every slime at beginning cuz the rocket on space is really satisfying :D
Nice game with beautiful graphics! At my first attempt, I shot the slime by reflex, haha!
Nice game and cute graphics.
very nice graphics, I like the idea! I feel like the camera was very close but that's it nice
Hey.. check my twitch channel. Want to play this live
@morbidcamel101 channel name?
I like the irony in your theme :) I wasn't sure what needs to be done until I saw the slimes quickly dominating the planet. I also thought the view was bit tight, but the little house(?) helped me keep the sense of where I was. I played your game on a Mac and I did hit the bug you mentioned where slimes are not moving around and one of the rhinos getting stuck at a tree. Not sure about the rhino, but the slime seems to practically stop moving when they reproduced the first time. They'll either stop, or move ever so slightly. I monitored it 4 times after I noticed it. Hope this helps.
Like you mentioned in the features not included due to time, this would have been more challenging if there were other factors distracting player, such as humans shooting at the player, forcing players to move around and loose track of whatever species they were monitoring. But great entry! :)
@hekst Yup, there is still a lot of bugs regarding my game. I will widen the view and adding more landmarks on the game, preferably on north, south, west and east side of the planet. I may also add a shift button where in it will take you to the other side of the planet quickly. btw I can't understand the irony in my theme (sorry english is my second language).
Fun game. Kinda similar to my game, yet so different. It was cool to be able to be in control of the lightning and bullets. I was having difficulty with any of the animals moving, but it was fun seeing the slimes reproduce. Good job on the game and keep up the good work!
Pretty nice game. At first it was a bit confusing (I just shot everyone and wondered: "Why did I fail?") but after a while I figured out what to do. (I read the CONTROLS file. But after a few failed attempts)
* Nice graphics * Good effects * Simple controls * It might have been nice if you were able to zoom in and out (I don't know if it's in the game already, didn't figure out how to do it if it was) * Sometimes the models glitch (they spin around rapidly) * Holy hell that scared me when there were a lot of slimes and suddenly I hear a strange munching sound (very loud!) and **BAM!** The rabbits have taken over the world and I fail instantly * For some reason while I played the game, none of the species didn't move at all (I failed pretty soon so I'm not sure if they start moving when the game goes on)
Too bad you didn't have any music. Anyways: this was a very interesting concept. Well done!
Well I've had a play, and it's a bit rough around the edges. it could use a good way of explaining how the game works, because I had no idea, when rabbit eats a slime, he multiplies.
Also, it felt more like natural selection simulation than a game. maybe if the player had one species that he had to protect from others to achieve a certain goal, it would be better...
But overall, you did a decent job :)
@fingamer what platform are you playing this game on? I'm already creating a post-jam build of the game and i'm changing the game a bit according to feedbacks.
@kristian-david I was playing this game on Windows (10).
@fingamer that's weird because I already removed the most simple setting on the quality settings which cause the animals not to move. I'll try to fix that problem.
I liked the core concept of the game - balancing the world's population through violence. Although I had the feeling you couldn't really influence something. After some time the slimes go crazy and breed like hell. ^^ Anyway, it was a very solid first entry. :)
Using space to restart the game AND to drop a bomb was a bad idea, because you lose immediately after you restart the game that way. :D
@skosnowich are you playing on the web version? Because I only found the problem on the web version.I am updating it now. Please tell me if you found the problem on other platforms also. Please play it again
Hah, I thought that the rocks were slimes at first...
This was a super cool concept, but I feel that it needed a *little* more polish to really shine. Shooting things with the gun was super fun and gave great feedback, but the meteor and lightning I think could've been improved upon (in terms of feedback.) One other thing I think would help is the ability to zoom out the camera. I found that sometimes I simply couldn't find any of the species. Overall I'd say that this was a pretty solid entry that could've been improved upon with a little more time. Nice work.
@morrilet you can zoom in and out using the scroll wheel
Wow this is a really cool concept and nice take on the theme. Sadly, windows version didn't work for me as the creatures would just stay in one spot and not move. Web version worked but had some issues of its own. Still I can see there is something interesting here.
Nice graphics bro! :) And the concept is cool :)
I'm trying to fix the animals not moving bug on windows. I never saw the bug while testing the windows version so I will upload it again
I felt like I wanted the camera just a little farther back at times. That's really my biggest complaint. Nicely done :)
Cool game! The graphics were well implemented, and the controls were intuitive. I must say I could not figure out the goal of the game just from playing it, but I did last 137.7 seconds. Good job!
Thanks for the web build. Just worked on my end. On my first play through I murdered all the rabbit and lost. (Yeah I know I'm a horrible human being). Then I actually realized that the game wasn't just a normal shoot everything in sight game and I liked that :). It's a really cool concept. My slime population just sky rocketed, only my sad lonely rhino couldn't procreate. I protected him until he died of loneliness... nice game!
Fun stuff, lasted 200 seconds and died due to rabbit extinction. The rhinos got really out of hand, which was hilarious since they start so low!
nice game, with great idea. the rhinos looked really neat, and oh my god, slimes are just massive/
they grow up so fast :D i did like the ligthening effects they were really neat. great job man.
An impressive amount of polish for LD. I'm always amazed when people take on sim games and the like. Well done!
@kristian-david Yes, I played on the web version. The problem is fixed now. :)
Nice game, cute graphics and good concept :)
I like the idea, good job !
My best score is arround 200 seconds
Got bored of nuking rhinos after 450 seconds. They somehow never could find one last rabbit to kill it. Lighting felt pretty useless compared to both gun and meteor. It was fun for a while though.
Interesting entry. My first tries I was around the 150 seconds I tried two techniques:
-Having no more than two animals from each specie. Of course, after that amount of time, rhinos die. -Only killing rabbits and rhinos, but after the first 100 seconds the planet goes crazy, and I started shooting everywhere praying for the randomness of life.
I had to search for another technique between those two. Finally I made a run of 422 seconds, and I'm quite happy. -I did control the three species, trying to never have more than 25-30 slimes when they reproduce. Being cautious with the numbers of rhinos and rabbits, try to get less than a half rhinos comparing to the number of rabbits. This functioned for a while, until rabbits started to go suspiciously low, and suddenly the all died old or eaten in a matter of seconds.
I really enjoyed this game, it's fresh, original, ironic, peaceful and challenging. Congratulations. I don't really like the dragon statue, too magical in comparison with the rest of the game.
@makiki99 You reached 450 seconds! lol my longest time is only 240 seconds. I will try to readjust the gameplay in the next update. I will try to change the lightning in the next update with a harmless black hole. Thank you for your feedback.
@le-slo wow, it's hard reaching more than 300 seconds in the game. I might change dragon statue to just a simple static statue in the next update. Thank you for your feedback.
- Reached 150 seconds . - I like the graphics were ever you hit you get a hole with nice effect (it may be grass, tree,or gouse ) - I actually dd not understood that why your game is over (i understood that when any of the character goes to zero you die )
This is a great idea with just a few minor issues (at the moment). Much like @sagarpatel25700, I survived just short of 150 seconds but then it was game over and I don't know why. I had about 2 rabbits and 2 rhinos so I'm guessing my rabbits got killed! It would have been nice to know that's what happened. The "Gane Over" screen doesn't display correctly in high resolution:
Image3.jpg
Despite these minor issues I think this is a great entry and I hope you plan on continuing development.
Fun to play, though the sounds seemed a bit over the top. The graphics were kinda inconsistent but I guess that's a side-effect of not making your own. Great concept, though.
@sagarpatel2570 and @richard-michael-smith all of the animals have a lifetime to prevent the game having too many animals and causing perfomance issues and dropping frame rate.
Good concept, I had fun playing it... at first I thought it was going to be really easy as long as the slimes survived but then the rabbits suddenly all died (probably rhinos). The shooting sound was a bit too loud but I still liked the game and it's objective. Great job!
Interesting god sim concept. For me it missed something there's a disconnect between the gameplay and the sense of danger. I still don't understand why I died. But that been said, a good effort.
Unfortunatly I can't check your game as I'm on Linux but the screenshots are looking great. A god-sim is an awesome interpretation of the theme.
The concept is interesting, although has few items that could be improved: - it is doomed to end up with dead rabbits, even though game starts slow it accelerates and you have no way to control it for longer time (because you can aim just for 1 animal at time). - the mid and late game overwhelms player, which means you pretty much end up shortly after reaching few dozens of rhino population ~ basically everyone will have pretty much same score, not really depending on their skill - lighting seems a bit messed up, although that might be due to WebGL version - adding a concept of day vs. night behavior of animals could be really interesting and make this game better
All in all, congratulations on making the game. Overally I like it, and the entry is quite solid. Keep up the good work!
@zgragselus Thanks for the feedback!
Nice ideas in this one. Would have never thought that too many rhinos could be a problem ever ;)
Very nice world! I included it in my Ludum Dare 38 compilation video series, if you’d like to take a look :) https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4yuMfX69kxA
@jupiter-hadley FINALLY! I've been waiting for a week now. I can't wait to watch this video.
Haha, I had slimes overrun the planet, then rabbits ate the slimes, then rhinos ate all the rabbits. Got some FPS drops going on because of the swarms. Highly entertaining. I didn't see any control help given anywhere, maybe I missed it? It took me a while to figure out I could meteor strike with spacebar. Also aiming the meteors was very difficult. Fun game though, nice work!
Quite addictive game. Graphics and music add to the mood. Congrats!
I played this on Livestream Today at the request of the Developer: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3zCqO_O0iIo
I liked the premise and had some thoughts on it (I'm hoping youtube got them back up, there were some issues converting the stream to a video.). I think my one thing was perhaps making the lightningbolt a little more powerful or giving it some range as it was hard to judge exactly where it was striking.
@occultone lol I told you to read the controls and behaviour in the description.
The game was pretty solid! I enjoyed it! I wished it had a little more variation to tell me where i was. I got disoriented more often than i would of liked. Otherwise, great job and keep it up!
Here is a link to ours :) https://ldjam.com/events/ludum-dare/38/moped-mayhem
@meenners Thanks for the Feedback.
Great job! I liked the concept a lot, and I think the whole spherical camera system is a good aproach to explore little planets.
Nice game! I loved the concept!
Lasted 180 seconds before the Rabbits were wiped out by a horde of 70-some rhinos. Interesting idea!
I've experimented in the past with evolution simulations in Unity (think Spore with procedural mutations and AI-powered creatures), and this reminded me of that, specifically, how I would occasionally interfere with the simulation and provide aid to a species I liked.
It got a bit ridiculously loud by the end, the audio could definitely use some tweaking.
gotta love the machine gun
cool game, I like how you managed to make a very coherent graphical experience using 3rd party assets. It's a rare talent :)
In the game what I lack is a better sense of having control over what is happening. I had 3 takes on it and I am not sure on what should I be doing - sudden explosion of one species was highly unexpected and puzzling :)
Maybe the tutorial would help :)
Interesting idea, a bit too slow for my taste by great none the less!
Original game idea, the theme was nicely inculded. I especially like the evolution concept. It's fun using the weapons, but there is hardly any challenge as you do not lose, if you do anything for example. In the future maybe you could include mechanics that requires the player to be active. Keep it up! :-)
Played the web build and got a giant, pink "You're missing a texture" skybox. I would like to see the reason I lost on the Game Over screen. Pretty sure the rhinos got out of control, but I can't be watching the counter constantly. I know it is a LD game and you couldn't have sorted it out in time, but the pacing is all over the place and when the balance tips, it tips hard.
A very good game with an original concept executed very well.
Hi, after somr rounds, I got 272 seconds ! Really enjoyed it, looks beautiful. At first I thought it was weird to get balance by violence, but it ends being very funny. Good job!. If you have the opportunuity, please take a look at my game - NUKEBALL - https://ldjam.com/events/ludum-dare/38/nukeball . It is WebGl also.
Very interesting idea, it's funny. Great job!
Really interesting game, I got 168 seconds. I didn't realise what to do at first but quickly picked it up. Great work!
If you wouldn’t mind having a quick go of my entry and letting me know what you think I would be grateful. https://ldjam.com/events/ludum-dare/38/space-pow-collins
I wish there were more things I could do to influence the animals, like build fences to change where they go. Overall, a really solid concept, and it would be even better if it had more complexity and interactivity. Maybe you should be able to grow and destroy trees? I wish it didn't have to be in focus to run, because the first 100 seconds can be really dull, before things really start. It'd be cool to see how far you could run with this concept.
Really cool idea, with keeping a balance in the game. It combines a shooter and a puzzle in a nice way. The game had a nice mood and atmosphere to it, that caught my attention. Good job!
