I loved the level progression. The art style of the game is very interesting and polished! The music definitely adds to the experience. :)
Great job on this!

I loved the level progression. The art style of the game is very interesting and polished! The music definitely adds to the experience. :)
Great job on this!
Fun little game, reminded me of Ice Climber for the NES. :)
I initially thought I had to collect all the sausages and lost quite a few times! I like the level progression, but at one level, a bee stings us as soon as the level starts. You should consider changing that.
This wan a fun little puzzle game. I wish there were more blocks at first, but completely forgot about the right click rotation.
It seems simple at first, but there's a lot to do. My only complaint is that the instructions are in another window.
But otherwise, a pretty fun game. :)
It took me a while to understand how the game works. But on figuring it out, it was pretty fun, but hard. I'm bad at hand eye co-ordination games, haha!
I love the way the text changes in the game over screen. Its a funny and neat touch!
The art is amazing! The music added to the sense of urgency and the ruggedness of the character. But since this is an insta-death game, a restart button is absolutely essential.
I bet a lot of people have pointed this out. But hey, the point of this jam is to learn from your mistakes. :)
I love the art on the tiles and the background. I think the art on the sprites were chosen that way? But a black-white sprite doesn't match well with fully colored surroundings.
I like the rewind mechanic. But the lack of a mouse pointer makes it difficult to play the game.
Good job nonetheless. :)
Some in-game instructions would've been nice.
The idea is very nice, and the graphics/audio complemented each other well. Good work!
That was hilarious! XD
Really well made game!
Props for innovation and visual style; gameplay-wise the learning curve is very steep, which is off-putting somewhat. Loved the turning mechanics however! Great work overall!
Wow, this was pretty overwhelming. Got 2 of the endings after a lot of retries. But I must say, I felt that the 10 second time limit was pretty incompatible with this type of game. But yeah, really good replay value; and the watercolour style graphics are pretty cool.
I love the visuals. The music's beautiful too. Had fun as long as it lasted-could've used more levels, but I guess with time limits and all it was too difficult to design 'em. Considering it was all done by one person, I'd say pretty impressive.
I'm sold. The art, the sounds and the humor in this very polished. I absolutely loved how the doctor yells "Next!" like its so trivial XD
Great job on this! :)
Oh man, this was so retro. In fact, the most retro game I've seen so far. Would've liked some kinda stage clearing factor though. Also, a slight movement out of the road just flips the car out so there should have been some small allowed safe limit off road(just my opinion). The theme was kinda loose.
Still, loved this game.
Fun little game! Love the mood!
Haha, the dubbed voices! Had fun playing this, could've used a bit more features. But considering the time limit, good job!
Hm, the Mom got burnt to death, and then voila, she's still in the kitchen the next time I go in! @_@
The pixel art is very good in this! Pretty spectacular stuff for 48 hours!
This is kinda confusing to be honest. It shows "Winner" and then nothing happens?
The game mechanics are very fun, but the level design didn't work for me. Placing camera after camera in the 2nd level made clearing it a chore. The mechanic in itself is pretty cool, but the way it was repeated over and over again made it boring. Plus I couldn't predict where I would land after a jump. Plus jumping up steps had some weird collision that kept slowing me down when its not supposed to.
On the story, if I were Mr. Evilthorne, I'd just have killed her on the spot. :P
I'm sure you can take these into account and carry over the good work into the next game you develop. :)
Quite challenging but at least it's fun! Played it quite a few times already..good job!
That's certainly some good innovation there. Love the perfect action and puzzle mix.
Not much of a game, but excellent art, music and overall atmosphere. Do keep working on this!
Also, this may have been mentioned before, but if you keep Up pressed, the game lets you jump forever.
Great entry. I found it a bit annoying that the weapon we take lasts only for one hit, even if we miss!
But the restricted vision and the music adds to the experience. Great job! Kept on my toes :)
Aw, I let a cat die. :(
Loved the art style!
The speed of the care made this engagingly fun! With the speed of the car, the destinatations can be reached comfortably. I lose my car by smashing into stray bullets :P
This needs a leaderboard, or scoreboard.
Great art on the art! Loved the title and game over screen!
Well done on this pretty detailed entry.
Well made! That replay feature was totally badass xD
This is by far one of the best games I've played so far! Wonderful work, this is an ideal entry!
Okay, this was simply one of the best entries I've played yet. Loved the mood and atmosphere with the dynamic lighting and aesthetic soundtrack. There were a couple of hard jumps, but I was just hooked on to this until I got to the end. I want to know so badly what the actual events were. Would definitely want to see more of this.
There were very few downsides, the most prominent being the loose implementation of the theme.
But anyways, congratulations- Awesome work!
(PS I found the walking animation quite catchy lol)
I like the word play around the theme, but you're treading through dangerous grounds.
In any case, the fact that we have to lose the race is quite interesting and difficult to manage for me. :P
Loved the "You didn't get 2nd place, and got tossed into a volcano" bit. XD
Ok this was an impressive mechanic and nice use of the theme. Protecting your past self was fun, though had no time to think about things that would be happening 10 seconds later what with the dodging and all. Amazing graphics btw.
Love the fact that you can customize the look of the character! But I didn't get the chance to buy anything as I didn't know what to do exactly. It might be a bug? Do fix it up as I'd love to play!
I *loved* the various missions! It was very entertaining!
Had trouble figuring out what the hell was going on as soon as it started. Reviewed the controls, and had fun thereafter. Gets pretty difficult to kill the last few remaining enemies.
I can't get past the 3rd level. I die as soon as I go out. The sensitivity needs to be adjusted a bit.
But interesting art style! :)
I guess this concept needs a bit more polish and thinking to do.
Loved the art and the music in this! The menu graphics were very pleasing. Plus I have this weakness for wall jumping.
I know there wasn't much time, but it'd have been great if there were more stuff to abuse the 10 second timer.
Great job on this nonetheless. I'd love to more levels and strategies.
Very cute style! Loved the various mini games! The sounds complimented the game pretty well too.
From an artist's perspective, that was quite a lot of work to do! Congrats on this wonderfully cute game!
Hoo I like the idea, nice approach. Timing the jumps was a bit hard for me because of the way it was programmed. But nice job overall!
Interesting take on 10 seconds, though the game itself wasn't all that fun to me. But since you guys did this in half a day, it's very impressive. The art is great as well!
The mood in this game is EPIC! I was playing this at night, and found it even a bit scary!
Great job on this! You should try making a horror game in the future! I'd definitely play it!
Interesting idea.
OMG, this game was super funny! That "SPOON TOSS!" and "TABLE PUSH!" were cracking me up! You make them sound like Pokemon attacks XD
Great job on this! Never laughed this much while playing a game! :)
RATED HIIIIIIIIIGH! XD
I love what you did with this! The art and the music is great! I had to try out a lot of stuff to figure out what was the right thing to do, haha!
The idea's very original. Keep up the good work!
All right, this was an awesome entry! It was incredibly fun trying to get the fishes in the 10 seconds(or less) before you switched to the son. Never really found out how to differentiate the orange meat fish from the white ones. But still had loads of fun!
This is probably the best game I've played this LD(yet). Ad I've played a lot. Just...too good!
Had too much fun playing. It's too addictive, ahahaha. But yeah, kinda slow in the beginning every time and gets monotonous after a while.
Oh man, this was awesome. I was hooked to it until the very end. It had a really creepy feeling to it, I was almost afraid it'd have some jump scares. I even moved away from the screen when the countdown at the end started xD
The rotation mechanism was pretty cool, but yeah, lost my way easily. Also, really impressive that it was done in 3 days.
This is a wonderful entry! There are grammatical errors here and there, and the "philosophy" seemed kinda shallow, but I digged the idea behind the game. Awesome work!
Art is very nice, but the game is too hard. Specifically for a first level.
I think I sent everyone spiraling down the wrong path. I'm sao bad at making decisions! :p
I love playing games where they show a scenario and our decision plays a part in how the scenario ends. And I certainly loved this. Good job!
Full props on the creepy mood, like always. :D
Needed a better ending though, IMO.
That was fun!
Like others said, enemies are a tad bit too hard though. :S
Pretty solid game here! Its seems like an easy game, but the way the baby moves makes it tough and fun to maneuver around. I had a lot of fun playing this!
Brilliant game! Just a bit of audio, and this would've been perfect! It's very well polished, and even though waiting for a crate gets a tad bit boring sometimes (specifically when out of money), this is very impressive work for 48 hours!
The idea of starting from the same point each time, but with upgraded abilities was quite remarkable. Things really got hectic after a few minutes when the speed an everything boosted up. Also, I liked how you could just reallocate coins to any ability.
The music loop got boring after a while. The movements were nice and smooth, though.
Really smooth movements, even though a bit challenging. And oh, the soundtrack's remarkable! Had me feeling dizzy...in a good sort of way. Spent a lot of time on the last level before I figured out that the tentacles left a safe space after going in.
Pretty confusing on how to win and some unclear mechanics, but the graphics and sfx are radical.
Story is awesome! Not to mention the graphics and audio!
Great work!
I couldn't get the game to work properly..
I was controlling this girl, and go halfway past the room and the screen froze. After a few seconds I heard "Jackpot!" and a girl moaning(?) 4-5 times and it became silent again.
I'd love to play this game when its fixed. The animation for the girl's work was superb!
I don't know why, but part of the game is below my screen. Any pointers? I'd really like to play your game!
I loved the concept of the game! I guess the worry-wart in me never lets me wander off thinking I'll never make it back in time! :P
I can't seem to get the treasure safely back home though!
Great job on this! The sprite of the character is so adorable!
Hats off sir, for even thinking about something like this. XD
Full score from me.
The concept totally reminds me of Karoshi.
Anyway, this really, REALLY needed more variety. And it's WAY too easy. I didn't even fail once. :|
Overall, nice job though.
Artwork: Mind=blown. Even though I didn't particularly liked the questions, which seemed overall random, the presentation itself is enough to get this a very high rating!
Amazing game! I loved the art, it looks spectacular!
And the fact this is an online game is impressive. You deserve high ratings! :D
Quite the interesting game. I loved the music, but I couldn't find where the 10 second theme was implemented.
Good job nonetheless!
Amazing, the art direction and the sounds are astounding!
A very polished entry!
Very nice idea, but probably too ambitious for such a short time. Gameplay was hard to grasp and kind of "mechanical". But do expand on this!
Its simplistic, but great fun!
I totally love the doodly art style to it.
Great job!
Excellent execution and unique take on the theme.
It's depressing to be honest, but I still really liked it. Full score from me.
Oh man, this was a lot of fun. Too difficult to score big though. And LOVE the soundtrack xD
The dragon nudging was awesome xD
Had a hard time feeding the dragon though, it flew away ;_;
I loved the smart narrative in this! Plus the music building upon itself was a neat idea.
Great job on the game. I enjoyed it. :)
YAY! I still have a wife! :P
I love the whole rage-endurance bar, and the counting from 1 to 10 is very witty and brilliant.
I'd love it if you could develop these novel relations into something so much more than jumping over monsters and obstacles. Take this game further, it'll be great fun!
Pretty incomplete, left me wanting for more. Jumping to ten seconds back in time was a pretty good use of the theme, this can be expanded out in so many versatile ways and awesome puzzle mechanisms.
Good job. Keep going, you'll improve in no time!
Oh man, awesome presentation! Even though the gameplay lacked things, you got me hooked to it with the voice dialogues and all. Didn't know what to do after entering the red room, though. I suppose that was the end, yeah? Kept hearing the voices even when the screen turned black after that.
Reminds me of Road Fighter! Ah them feels!
Good job on the game. Good art as well, but it could use more work in the innovation department.
Nonetheless, congrats on your game!
I love the gameplay! The work on the tiles is awesome! I'd have liked it if the sprites of the characters were a bit bigger though. Tiler is a great mechanic! :)
But the tile mechanic takes 10 seconds to place each tile, so if there are a lot of tiles to be places, it become very time consuming. Maybe you should add a button to skip the 10 seconds prematurely.
Anyways, good job on the game. Its pretty fun!
I had a hard time playing this. Most of the time I found myself being pushed towards the screen and falling off, along with the meat. I can't seem to grab the meat easily as well.
I bet this game will be a lot more fun after you polish the controls and mechanics a bit. :)
Sometimes life really is a b*itch.
Great work!
I'd have liked it more if the jumping was more like jumping and less like floating. :P
Nice entry otherwise though!
I was expecting a simple story from the story, but i was pleasantly surprised by how deep the story was! The puzzle at the time machine room had me stumped for a while, but I hit myself after I realized the method. Buut, I don't know who to hit! XD
Great game nonetheless! The soundtrack compliments the game well.
Wah, that was very fun! The feeling of running through walls and slicing up enemies was thrilling!
I know many people have told you about the restart thing already, so I'm not going to bother you about it. :P
For some reason, I can't see the distractions. O_o
The theme seemed crammed in there. But the game itself is excellent - innovative, relaxing. Great work!
Great user of the theme! Yeah, trying to find the keys wasted a lot of precious seconds but still, the slowdowns were a nice (even though not equivalent)compensation. And god job with the level generator!
Amazing use of the theme! It was awesome how the things in the levels were exactly how they should have been at the given time, regardless of the time you entered them. And ofc the ending was epic xD
Simple and fun to play. But if you touch a laser while holding down space, it seems you won't lose.
The game's pretty hard, the insta-death is a little discouraging, but it gets balanced with the checkpoint system.
The palette you've chosen here is a tad too dark for comfort. I didn't realize the grey scribbles on the floor were lethal on the first few tries.
Overall, a good game. :)
Yeah, like most other players said, luck associated with puzzles isn't too compatible, the whole 10 seconds didn't even have to be used. Anyways, the idea was innovative, and great soundtrack!
Great job on this! The ticking sound is a very nice touch :D
I found it a bit hard to maneuver around the clocks with the momentum though. But it adds to the skill required.
Its amazing to know that you made this all on your own!
Thanks a lot! Will definitely check out your game.
And oh, updated the file with the crash fix.
Thanks everyone!
(Spoiler)
@zanzindorf: The objects that can be interacted with are highlighted when you get near them. You have to use the guard to open the door below, and then commit suicide so he doesn't raise an alarm. Then climb down with the main character and go through the door.
Thank you!
@Ciaran54
Yeah we made it all during the jam. Power in numbers haha!
@Ciaran54
I'm glad you enjoyed the game. Yeah we had a lot of jokes about the fighting animation. :P
Thanks for playing
(Sorry for the double post)
Thanks everyone!
@Mezka: I'm glad you enjoyed the game. I haven't heard of Abe's Odyssey. I'll surely check it out! :)
@wally2069: Yeah, I apologize for that. Unfortunately, we didn't have time to put up an elaborate tutorial. But if it helps, there are instructions here, in the description as well as in the game. Hope it helps!
@X-Or: Haha yeah! Throwing them off the ledge is a fun thing to do! >:)
Thanks folks!
@truiton: We may in the future (we have other different ongoing projects atm, including another WIP from a previous jam :S ). And I didn't come across any such bug (tried just now), so it may have just been you running out of time with that particular character and losing control of him?
@NiallM: Most of the multiple solutions here weren't intended tbh (like you don't need to use a lockpicker at all). That's what you get for pretty much no time to playtest. XD
@Ciaran54: We didn't use any existing code, if that's what you meant. :S
Thanks guys!
@klianc09: Because it won't matter if they fight to death with you, 'cuz if you die that's pointless anyway? xD Idk, we were short on time and this was all that we could think up!
Also, I've never personally encountered that bug, but a friend of mine did, and he says you can fix it by climbing up and then down again. I'll try to fix it post-Jam.
Appreciate the comments guys.
@kannas: I don't think adding a proper tutorial now is allowed as per the rules. That's clearly adding new features, I think.
Thanks fellas!
It's great that you're creating videos of the jam entries @Jupiter, great initiative! :)
It really seems like we needed to make some proper tutorial for this though. XD If only I had a few more hours. >_<
Thanks guys!
@Zer0Kelvin: You have to use the guard to open the door below, and then commit suicide so he doesn't raise an alarm. Then climb down with the main character and go through the door.
@MuciojadPL: Heh, thanks a lot! And sure, I'll check it out!
Thanks all! :D
@Mlle Eole: The guards and prisoners just knock each other out, you don't have to consider that killing. XD
Other than that, yes it IS possible to complete without directly making any guard commit suicide, would require patience and luck as well. :P
Thank you everyone! :D
@Boneloaf: The game shows which things you can interact with when you're near them, I can't really say why it didn't work for you since it worked fine with others. @[email protected]
@Gear: That was the point. :P
You needed to select (click) and use the guard first. :S
I assume you didn't include the monster mob mechanics because the monster sprites weren't made. I collected all those orbs like crazy, and then realized the monsters were never going to come. It'd be cool if you could mention that in the description as well.
Good game engine overall. :)
37.6 MB could be a little off putting. Otherwise, it's a decent little shooter.
Just sayin', it's not because of GM, it's because of the assets you've used. :)
Gameplay was really cool, could've used better visuals though. But otherwise, really good!
Highly original idea, I like that. The music seems like it's taken from Zoo Tycoon? xP
Awesome game overall though.
I like the concept! My favorite weapon in this is the yellow lasers. Less reload time and more range. Its difficult to survive with the small short range sphere bullets.
Great job on this!
The mouse control is a bit tricky. And it took me a lot of time to realize that you had to click on the house and then click on the resource that you want to collect. At the start, I could only watch helplessly as those guys exploded. T_T
Good job, but the controls have to be more intuitive.
Felt too fast sometimes. And ohmygod the blood xD
Also the portal transition was awesome. Nice graphics and sfx!
I like how the levels get tougher progressively. I got through some levels through pure luck! :P
Love his dying animation, if that doesn't sound too sadistic.
Very nice, specially the graphics. Needed more variety, but nevertheless, great work for 72 hours! A complaint would be that collisions with fruits were a bit off.
Haha, the sound effects in this is really entertaining. I like how more difficult enemies are introduced. You've done good work to balance the game out.
Good job.
This is very nice! Full props for the mood!
Great! Had a lot of fun playing and awesome use of the theme!
This is addictive! Very cool!
Ripped me apart. Every. Damn. time. XD
Good entry!
Woah, we used similar concepts. XD
Great work! You should've kept some way to speed up the intro sequence though.
Is it just me or is the link not working?
Ok the theme was nicely implemented, dialogues were awesome, but it was kinda annoying getting killed by the boulders and losing all the things you bought. Love the ol' skool graphics. Could've used some nice retro sfx. Good job overall though.
I have no idea what I played through, but it was AWESOME! XD
I didn't like the background color, it kinda burned my eyes.
One of the more interesting and different entries in this LD. :D
Graphics were kind of mismatched, could use some work. But otherwise, decent platformer; would have preferred not to have the acceleration though, that was the reason I failed most of the time. XD
Amazingly detailed for a 3 day game. I loved the dungeon crawling as well. I just shot through all the toughies :P
The flying bear was hilarious :P
Great job!
Great idea! Had fun playing, plus great graphics and audio. Has some bugs though, where the sprites sometimes disappear(on chrome)
I like the graphics for the game. I tried out 4 player mode just to check if there were different sprites for all of them and was pleasantly surprised. :)
This is not as fun in single player though, but I can imagine this being one of the mini games in a party game collection.
Good job!
5 stars for everything. By far the best game I've played in this jam till now! Excellent idea, brilliant execution!
I love the graphics in this! Plus the choices are pretty funny! But I think it'd be better to have a button to skip text as the speed of the text is a tad slow. Also, it'd be better to have a life system, because dying suddenly to a bat that comes out of nowhere, is a little frustrating.
The staying inside the box thing was confusing at first, took me a while to figure out what it meant. :P
But other than that, this is an excellent entry, really polished! Graphics is amazing!
I love the mood of this game. I was too indecisive to save anyone, which might actually be true about me. :)
The greyout graphics set the mood for the game very well.
Great job on this!
Had trouble figuring out what to do, then read the manual. Pretty complex mechanics, but it's good once you get the hang of it. Still pretty hard though. But great idea and awesome physics engine.
Ehehe, this game tested my...hand-hand(?) coordination because I was pointing my finger at the screen the entire time and ignoring the actual bit xD
Make you feel a bit insecure at times(what if wrong input... *sweats nervously*)
Other than that, great concept and music!
Good game! I like the strategy involved in this.
The grey wall at the back reminds me of my game! :P
Waiting ten useless seconds for the tutorial level to end was a drag. The control scheme was a bit fiddly, but ok anyways. Great retro feels, though.
My fingers are always going to the conventional WASD directional controls. But I like how the game is very cute and fun!
Had a great time playing this~! The idea of actually using the resource produce rate instead of just resources is challenging and innovative!
I can't seem to defeat the boss. You really should put some visual feedback for losing health, both for the playable character and the boss. I didn't know if I my attacks were actually hurting him or not.
Otherwise, good job on this.
Desperately needs a goal. But full marks on innovation and graphics! Overall, a really great entry!
It's more often than not hard to distinguish stuff on screen. But overall, very nice!
The controls were a bit hard, but really, this game is a gem! So amazing, the graphics style, the soundtrack, everything. Had a lot of fun.
The game would be much better if the character wasn't so slippery and if the camera wasn't so violent.
Nice and smooth controls and flow. The view should have been more towards the front, though. Graphics are nice, and the parallax movement of the clouds and hills is neat!
Love the "Fuck death" option :P
Neat concept! But I found Easy mode to be quite tough. Often lost at the point of switching. But that must be awful co-ordination skills! :P
This game is addicting!
Love the effects each weapon has. I'm amazed by the amount of work you guys put in.
Great job on this!
The spinning attack is way cooler than I thought it would be! I love the love story and those little bits of narration that adds depth to the characters. Its heart warming to see them sharing time with each other.
Great game! You should think of taking this game further with sound and graphics. :)
This is challenging! When all 3 bad effects are activated, dying is just inevitable. Had a lot of fun playing this anyway. And oh, nice soundtrack!
Simple but quite challenging. Good job with the programming. Could have used a decent background and gfx though.
The artwork of the game is fantastic, but I can't seem to interact with objects that I want to interact with, like the unusually large paperclip. :P
It'd be great if I could get a pointer or two. I'd love to see what ending the game has!
Great job on this nonetheless!
The build up music adds greatly to the game. The mood here was perfect! I'm generally bad at typing, so I didn't survive very long.
Great job using the theme to create a sense of urgency and tension! :)
Felt like the speed was too much at times, but yeah makes it even more challenging. Had fun playing though. And yeah, great music.
A little more interactivity would've been nice. Got both endings, though a note saying "LOL" may have screwed up one of them for me. :P
Good work!
Loved the game. We had initially thought of trying something like this, but went for something else entirely in the end.
Glad to see it being done, and so well at that. My favorite weapon would be the bow. :D
Great job on this! Really enjoyed it!
The graphics and music were lovely, but the gameplay was too hard. Obstacles were a real pain!
This game is shit! Literally! XD
I loved the art and the sound! But it seems to spike in difficulty. Maybe you should avoid the 3 lives concept and make it a "try till you decide to quit" structure.
Good job on the game!
I love how polished the menu and the HUD look! Plus the idea of seasons changing every 10 seconds is brilliant. It leaves open a lot of platforming possibilities. Great job on the concept! I found the movement of the character a bit too sluggish though, especially when he's jumping. It'd be great if you fix that up.
Overall, a great game! One of the more original concepts this LD. :)
Absolutely brilliant atmosphere! So sad there had to be a time limit haha.
Love the ctrl and alt buttons for sticking close and spreading apart. It makes for different strategies, and managing everyone. But the speed is a bit too high. I often spent time crashing into walls.
But overall, its a great concept! You should definitely take this further. If there was sounds in this, I bet it would have been fantastic. But yeah, sound's kind of a luxury in these short jams.
Wow, great concept! Found the duels repetitive, though. And yeah, clever implementation of the theme, even though it's not too adamant . The dueling bit could've really used some more mechanics. Other than those, a great entry!
Those bats scared me the first time! I like the idea of turning of the lights in between. It adds to the experience of survival. Those big red demons were so hard to get by!
Overall, its a good start for a game. It needs more mechanics and features for it to be a complete one. :)
Haha, this game is very addictive! I loved the kitten names, they were so cute!
Well done!
Ah, I love the amount of strategy involved in a game like this. It'd be an awesome pvp game.
Great concept!
The up/down movements were too slow, and it's almost impossible to avoid rocks that come at you. Nice soundtrack though.
Didn't rate since I can't play it, the "only works in Windows 32 bit" thingy is gonna cost you a lot of players. @_@
Haha, loving the novel theme! The graphics were awesome! But just found I had nothing to do if I never reached a store in 10 seconds(blame my pro skills :P)
Great job on this!
Quite the funny game to pick up and play. Am I weird for liking the sound when the butt decides to take a big shit? :O
The only fault I could find is the automatic running forward hinders jumping backwards for some platforms, if that makes any sense.
Nice game, loved the weapon mods. But didn't quite like the fact that the bullets just stopped where the cursor was :(
Had fun playing, though!
You should seriously consider putting up a recoil/reload mechanic. Or atleast a negative for missing targets. Right now, all I need to do is use two hands, and I can shoot in all directions at once, and never lose! :p It had me laughing out loud literally. +5 humor
Being a fan of the horror genre, I love the fact that you made this! The soundtrack and the impending doom fits the 10 second theme perfectly! The sounds and the graphical changes when its about to hit 10 seconds is sublime. It creates the right tension.
I loved this game. Please expand on this! :)
Hm, interesting game. But the time goes negative. I had a hard timing taking a shit properly! :P The only think I can perform properly was opening the window.
Good concept, but it need a bit of polishing. Its understandable though. :)
I beat Mr Buttons as he was walking towards me! The game's pretty short, but its understandable because you made it in 1 day.
Good job! :)
This was fun! More luck based than puzzle, but still, good entry!
Very original, and nice take on the theme!
Full marks on innovation! Very nice take on 10 seconds. Graphics could've used improvement, but it didn't matter much, really.
Very clever level design! You made what is a simple mechanic into something so much more. The art and sound is cool too! But the gameplay totally takes the cake!
Being a LD fresher myself, I found this very enjoyable.
This is a wonderful piece of art.
Depressing games usually don't depress (from my point of view at least), but this hits the nail on the head. Wonderful graphics and audio, and excellent mood created. Hats off, sir.
I totally love the game over screen! The in-game sprites are very cute! That house with the 'stache cracked me up.
But at some points, I seem to be teeported to the next level before the game over screen comes.
In any case, great job on the game. :)
The game's idea is good, the art looks great for a 48 hour entry as well. But the zombie's movement is a bit sluggish.
So it slows down the gameplay by quite a bit, especially when you have to take the path all over again with a different zombie.
Otherwise, a good game. :)
A good entry for 48 hours. The first few levels were fun, but they got increasingly difficult. At first I found dying very annoying, because restarting turned back all the levers as opposed to warping(I was pretty used to warping at that point) xD
Nice graphics and sounds, too!
Took a long time to load but ahahahaha, worth it xD
Good seeing an original card based game here! Couldn't figure out the damaging system though. This would be great if finished!
Awesome entry! Really liked the idea!
What's up with null though?
Nice square graphics! Music was good, had fun playing. Not too innovative, though- Could've used some original mechanics.
Most levels could be completed in under 10 seconds, so yeah wasn't too annoying at all. Great soundtrack though. And yeah, good use of the theme.
The game's pretty catchy! I love the fact that timer pushes us to do our best! I upgraded my weapon and luck the most. The bosses are easier than the minions, haha! :P
I got the top score w00t! Hope no one beats it!
Very nice take on breakout, enjoyed this!
A complaint would be the music, metal just doesn't suit this. :P
Awesome entry! Even though the theme is themes isn't perfectly implemented, everything else is perfect! Very, very impressive for a game made in 3 days. And cool soundtrack!
Wow, I'm such a bad detective!
I found it difficult to remember their names. It'd be really helpful if you show their names alongside their portraits.
But overall, I enjoyed playing the game. The characters were really well drawn!
I played on this chrome, but it seems to be framing quite a bit. Something in the code might be taking up a lot of the memory. Do check it out. I bet the game will become faster once you fix the issue. I'd like to play the game once that's done. :)
All right, this was a lot of fun. Loved the smooth movements and the minimalistic approach for the graphics. Plus the way he jumped was pretty cool, so just had the urge to 2x jump everytime and that got me killed a lot lol.
The theme was perfectly implemented, just missed a good action soundtrack.
Lovely art and music for this game.
Great gameplay, but I found it a bit tough to figure out how to play. But once I did, it was great. A tad easy though.
Great job on this! You must have put a lot of effort for thae art. :)
Takes time to get used to, specially the controls (even when radius is maxed), but the concept is very nice! Lovely art style as well!
This is a gem! Full props for innovation! My only complaint would be that jumping feels unresponsive mostly.
Do develop this into a full game!
I could never get through with the current controls. It'd be great if you added more responsive controls. Eventhough the graphics are just shapes, it comes about quite nicely! :)
This is a very interesting and fun concept! The movements could have been made smoother though, especially the jumps. Had a lot of fun playing this with my brother, this definitely has to be expanded more!
Okay if feel that this was really EXCELLENT. You set up a back-story about a whole different world, and designed those cool gfx and grappling hook in 48 hours! *applauds*
The soundtrack is top-notch. And the grappling hook, man that was a LOAD of fun! Most of the time I was travelling like spiderman, hanging from the ceiling xD
The with the backstory and music, you've created a really good feel to it. Simply amazing.
This seriously needed better control over the dragon. And balance, the orc spawning rate is too high! though that's an issue with the time restraints, so it's ok. The orcs...it was really hard to tell which ones you had already killed. And wuh...why did they spawn right in the village!? My poor villagers ;_;
Anyways, had fun playing this xD!
Really cool game. The little variations among enemies, I loved that. And the audio and the mood was simply great, it did make it feel like a dream.
The sfx was rather a mismatch with the rest of the track, and it took a lot of hits to finally get game over. :P
Leaving that aside, the graphics and overall feel was wonderful! For 48 hours, this is awesome!
Cool wave mechanism! Loved the graphics and sound too! Though it wasn't challenging at all since you could just remember the values from the sim/do things with 2 tries. The no restart and implementation of theme was great, though! And haha, the world is doomed so play on the simulator 'for the lulz'? xD
Saved the world later by closing and opening the game window again though xD
As the other players have said, too much clicking. But I think that's the only downside. Everything else is perfect- The concept, the character designs, the graphics, sound and humor.
Especially the humor. The story of the derp cap was epic. And I loved how Lord Greed was giving out hints xD
This was really good! Great pixel art, dat reaction when the orb goes out xD
The levels were really cool, since the paths for the orb and Lucia are sometimes different. And it even has a back story! Love that.
Great art and retro feel. Dying once gets me stuck though, but the restart button fixes that. And really cool, I was killing most people at first by getting out of the heli over them and thus dropping the heli on their heads ._.
The damage display for the heli was awesome.
What would've been epic is the "Like a boss" (lonelyisland) song playing in the background! xD
Jk, good stuff you got here!
Some bugs here and there, but looks pretty and plays good. Good work!
Cool game! I loved the trees parallax xD
And the thief was my favourite, had a great time backstabbing enemies xD
I never could win though, the last boss kept killing me and annihilating my hard-collected army ;_;
The theme usage is ok but not that much since you soon got an army after that one soldier. Was loads of fun, though!
Some kind of image of someone actually diving would have been nice. :P
Nevertheless, it's a pretty neat game.
That was a very unique take on the theme. And damn, the gfx are beautiful. This idea could be made into a gorgeous adventure!
Those are some cool retro graphics. But yeah, I found it confusing at first too, but found the explanation in the comments. I guess the confusion arises from the fact that if you move to the left room and back to the right, you're supposed to arrive at the previous place, which was not the case here. Showing an entrance of some sort in the center/ more directions could've been helpful.
But the game's still really cool.
Nicely executed. Though many things were the usual generic platforms, I the 3D branches did stand out. All in all, had a good time playing it. The music was great.
Simple and fun to play. Took me awhile to realize that you can move around and aim after pressing space, and it even shows the trajectory. Really nice music and graphics. The take on the theme felt kind of weak, though, since you can retry as much as you want.
Really interesting mechanisms and gameplay. This was fun. And funny. The X-Ray is kinda overpowered, though xD
Managed to open all presents but it seems some of them change after each play, so that's awesome. The graphics are great, and everything feels very polished. Then only downside would be that the theme's implementation is very loose. The text in 'about' pointing to the theme was funny, though xD
Sooo, eat pray love? :D Nice! Has potential, keep working on it!
This is a brilliant use of the one shot idea! Very fun, well polished, great work!
Love the art style! Very cool!
Nice and fast paced, lots of fun. Catchy tune. But I don't think the theme really fits here.
Ahahaha, this was awesome! A lil' hen wielding a gun being chased by homing missiles? Pure, unadulterated genius! Was hooked on to it, but the boss was hard, had to retry so many times, I was hooked onto it xD Though took me a while to figure out you had to shoot the yellow orb launcher ._.
Great graphics, gameplay and was fun!
Wow, that was really a spot-on use of the warping mechanic! The fact that you could get killed by your own bullet was really awesome xD
The only downside would be the shot had to be precise, and the control was really a bit loose for that.
Enjoyed it thoroughly.
Very well made, I would've really liked to jump though! :p
The pixel art is amazing and the soundtrack hit the nail right in the head, impressive entry!
Simple, clean and fun! Really well executed. And man, that face in the end xD
The pixel art is really cool, and clever use of the theme!
The controls are painstakingly hard! x.x
The game needed some more explanation, took some time to get used to. But visuals and overall atmosphere is very nice!
Ahaha, great sfx! Enjoyed playing it, though trying to lead to push the purple enemies in the right direction was a bit hard :S
Wow, this was immersing and gorgeous *_*
Even though a bit repetitive, it was insanely fun! And OH, the gfx were so cool xD
I didn't get the key on wave 10 and ran out of time ._.
This changed the way I look at the world.
I'm now gonna go tell all my friends to play this, it may change their lives too.
Thank you for this!
Insane interpretation of the theme, and highly addicting! Great pixel art and audio to back it up as well! Gets full score from me.
Hard, but very well executed and polished. Reminded me of MegaMan Battle Network a bit!
I applaud your writing skills, that was certainly something else.
Very interesting and innovative. I don't think I've EVER seen a game with sword mechanics like this before. I quickly found out that the Rapier, while great for combat, was difficult to walk around with. Seriously great concept. And I dig the minimalistic graphics, too.
Btw my favourite was the Dagger because less movement restriction. The Rapier could impale enemies like a joust, I loved that xD
Utterly confusing at the start, and that's a load of features for a short time! Very well made!
MAN, that soundtrack was amazing! It made playing the game a lot of fun! And awesome use of the theme, the concept is very cool.
Amazing graphics and interesting mechanics, everything about this is top notch! The usage of theme is epic! xD
Artwork is beautiful, but gameplay is kind of disbalanced. The time between waves is rather high, and I don't get why you stop him from moving during that time. But otherwise, nice work!
Haha, at first I thought it'd be a game about tough life decisions, and was really surprised xD
That kinda made the theme loose but a lot more fun!
Not enough time to get the shotgun...so I went out to get the zombies with a gun, so that was hard :P
Anyways, though there were bugs, like the zombie sprites having corners visible, and doors activating even without reaching them, this was good for a first entry :D
Cute game! Really fun, I liked the combo and energy mechanics. The ball didn't kill the bad guys sometimes, though. That boss was huge xD
Wow, that was pretty awesome. The grid indicating where the asteroid would pass through helped lot! Cool graphics, I loved the ship and the bg!
And in the end...I died D: xD
Was short, but good!
Awesome graphics! A moving background would have fit well here. It's pretty hard, but that's one pilot I guess.
Impressive graphics! Would have helped though if the pacing was a tad faster, 'twas rather slow without keeping Shift pressed. Still, an FPS in such a short time is always an achievement!
Cool concept sending a different prisoner for each retry. And the number announcer was really great. Though it was really confusing on moving platforms, I enjoyed this thoroughly.
The graphics are surprisingly well done! And hilarious use of the theme xD
The drifting and all was really cool, though car control felt a little hard at times. Also, the font wheels turned a almost a full 180 degrees ._.
Gameplay and music was cool, enjoyed that.
Very short, but awesome! Amazing graphics and animations! And lol, dat boxing Rudolph.
Great little game, but a bit hard to progress beyond wave 5. I think I liked green the best. Cool soundtrack.
I quite enjoyed this! I somehow got through all levels through hit and try/backtracking from the finish though xD
This was very innovative, though the theme fit is a bit loose.
Needed a restart option badly! Some music would've been good too!
But it's pretty neat otherwise.
The name caught my attention but it wasn't that good. Innovation wasn't much but the dynamics were fluid. Well I had fun anyway playing it...
The mood set is great! Wasn't expecting the ghost like that either! It's overall neat, but what has this got to do with the theme though?
One of the most perfect entries I've played this time, extremely fun, beautiful designs, catchy audio. Well done!
Whoa, great graphics for the sub and main character. The water needed better sprites, and there were some weird collisions. But playable and enjoyable. I lost my wrench in the water so many times xD
The theme's implementation with only one crewman doing all things was really good.
Wow, that's very polished. And enjoyable. At first I though it was all defending then attacking, but sometimes you have to attack when the other samurai is charging. And of course, the one hit ko slash swipe is really cool :D
The music blended in perfectly.
Heh, this was very nicely executed. The puzzes were good and it had me hooked onto it for a very long time, trying to solve 'em. Plus the great graphics and the nice, smooth controls.
Enjoyed it, but some messages were really hard to understand for me, and man, the replies could only be single words so it felt inadequate. But I still liked it, and the amazing graphics were a great icing on the cake. Awesome experience, had me drawing symbols all over a notebook xD
It was frustrating! The change of graphical style was kind of weird too. Otherwise, it's a pretty nice entry.
A lot of frantic clicking involved, I enjoyed it. Also, cool soundtrack.
The use of one button for so many things was pretty cool! Was very difficult but had fun! Just needed some fast paced music to make it feel complete, but oh well, time restrictions.
Interesting game, but a bit too easy. Would like to see this developed further.
Short, but very good! I loved the pixel art and the slow-moving clouds! Just needed some music, though the sfx were great xD
My only complaint would be that sometimes it was really hard to detect live zombies in a pile of zombie corpses :P
Interesting idea. Though it mainly depended on the starting position, things were hard to predict, so I guess it comes down to luck. Had fun playing, managed to get about 8k in 5-6 tries.
At first it looked really so-so, but as I played more, it was surprisingly fun! Oh, those poor inverted skulls after I killed them xD
I managed to get all the hearts and the double jump and dash ability too, really cool stuff you managed to put in! Sadly, the boss was too hard for me :S
The theme was very, very nicely implemented.
There were, indeed, some downsides. The main character could've used a bit more walking animation, he moved his legs only a little, that was cute xD
Then there were some collision issues, I found it hard to get that health upgrade where you have to jump up through the narrow space. Then the arrow, it was really useful against the enemies with the short range, but I could hardly hit the boss.
Well, all in all, great entry. Reminds me of the time I first started making games :)
Great, fun game! I liked the music a lot! And was a lot of fun to play.
Loved the audio!
Faster pace would've been nice, but overall it's pretty neat!
Haha, nice take. As the other people have said, the control scheme felt a bit off and took some time to get used to. Nice graphics and cool weapon types. Never managed to beat the boss though :S
Haha, short, but awesome! I loved the RiverCityRansom references xD
The cinematic was really cool.
Took me a while to figure out the game. Great job with the art and idea!
Cool drawing style! The hand felt kind of awkward. The fact that mom didn't leave unless you moved your hand away from the plate was- I liked that.
This had a great mood going, but going back was almost impossible. And yeah, I flew over all the raptors xD
Get a bit repetitive and tedious later on. Great aesthetics, though. It could have been amazing with more features, but 3 day jam, so it's ok.
Haha, awesome! Great abilities, though some are a lot more advantageous over the others. The soundtrack fit there perfectly :D
"Computer encountered bluescreen, press power button repeatedly."
LOL.
Unsure of the use of theme here, and game needs some explaining at the beginning. But once I got what's happening, it was pretty good. Not enough challenge though!
Love the artwork! Weird take on the theme though, and the mechanic is... interesting, to say the least.
That was really hard. D:
But great concept, and the A.I. is very well made for such a short time!
Bloody brilliant! Just make a single player version for others later, or at least have keyboard input!
The game's really polished and well made! The theme didn't fit too much, but still had fun! The menu music should've been nicer to play in the game though...
Damn, I wanted to play it again to get another ending but that's some very strict application of the theme xD. It's cool. Enjoyed the story anyways.
The only thing on my mind was "How on earth did you guys make this in 72 hours!?"
If I could complain about anything, that would be the mouse sensitivity is a bit low, making it hard at times.
Dig the graphics and the atmosphere! Otherwise wonderful as well! Do continue working on this!
Didn't get the theme here, but the idea was very nice! Idk why, but the game started to lag horribly the more I fell though.
This is really, really engaging and awesome. I was hooked on to it for so long. Needed saves so badly, but then again, one life, I guess. This concept can be expanded into something very big and story based!
Instantly interested 'cause of the idea. :P
How do you link them though? Couldn't seem to use that, tried clicking/dragging. :/
Concept was cool, definitely try to continue with this!
It's amazing you implemented the theme with that one-child policy. And disguising it was pretty fun.
Some absurd disguises were really funny when the inspector came- "As you can see this is not a baby, it's clearly written on it's forehead" I died laughing at that part xD
Did manage to get one right combination and saved the family. All in all, a pretty promising entry.
Wow, I was amazed by the vastness of the game. Had a great time exploring the world, trying to remember the positions of the light orbs. Once a light orb got pushed into a wall though ._.
Anyways, despite some bugs, it's a great entry- the mood, the graphics and the feel to it is simply fantastic.
Wow, I was amazed by the vastness of the game. Had a great time exploring the world, trying to remember the positions of the light orbs. Once a light orb got pushed into a wall though ._.
When night falls, it gives me the creeps xD
Anyways, despite some bugs, it's a great entry- the mood, the graphics and the feel to it is simply fantastic.
Wow, I was amazed by the vastness of the game. Had a great time exploring the world, trying to remember the positions of the light orbs. One time a light orb got pushed into a wall though ._.
When night falls, it gives me the creeps xD
Anyways, despite some bugs, it's a great entry- the mood, the graphics and the feel to it is simply awesome.
Wow, this was awesome. Kept playing for a long time. The gfx were really well done. Simple and effective.
It's well written, but uh, how does it use the theme again? :\
This was incredibly fun, really pulled me in. Once I figured out level 3 I couldn't help marvelling at the genius of it! And the other levels after that were brain racking, too!(especially with that annoying grey tile :P) Cool and innovative even with the minimalistic gfx. And oh, the chiptunes were lovely xD
Mechanic's great, the best I've seen so far with the one shot mechanic. And overall it's real fun, awesome job!
Dodging asteroids in darkness? Brilliant! Really loved the feel to it. Could've used some music, and the controls felt unresponsive due to the low acceleration. But I enjoyed it very much!
This is one of the best games I've seen this LD. You guys must have been really, really inspired by Papers Please (even the art style too!).
Nevertheless, this is a complete experience, and I'm stunned how you guys pulled it off in 72 hours!
Very good puzzle mechanic, with combos and highscores. The station becomes unsealable due to wrong pieces, so I guess that's the endgame condition. The sound's good, and the graphics are great. Some pieces changed shape on rotation, though :|
Oh yes, the theme was really loose though.
The concept was great, the beautiful music and the dynamism made it enjoyable. I would have really liked some more information, it was hard to figure out what was enhancing or inhibiting growth, since everything was going so fast. Placing the seed in a corner seemed you yield the best results. But I liked this.
Hah, the intro was kind of abrupt. xD Random uncle saying all that out of nowhere.
The game itself is hard to grasp with all those options, but yeah, it has an interesting premise and potential. Keep working on it!
Haha, this was fun, though a bit more content would've been better. The bullets colliding in midair was awesome, it balances the game when there are no obstacles between the players! Also, good soundtrack.
Interesting concept. I liked it, though very confusing at first. Also, the web version was giving a download link...? Went for the windows version instead.
Couldn't find the use of theme, but it was otherwise one of the best experiences this LD so far. The beats were sick!
The movement controls are rather off. I had problems with that most of the time.
The idea is nice though, and it was fun! Of course, shooting stuff is always fun. :P
Appreciate the comments everyone!
@X-Or: Trees do decrease growth rate in the game, isn't that natural? :S I mean, more forest area=less area to expand=less growth rate?
@Arkroth: No wonder! That's 80% of the population gone! D:
@Pickle: The moon does orbit the earth, just really really slowly, since I wanted to be precise. It takes 27 days to orbit, which is a loooong time in the game itself if you haven't noticed. :p You can move it manually though.
Thanks for all the feedback! :]
@anvoz: Well there can be different strategies, it can be played mostly by using solar plants as well instead of nuclear ones (so less trees are required to control pollution, and hence more space). I know of a friend surviving 59 days, so it's possible. xD
And trust me, fully upgraded lasercannons and nukelaunchers are much more powerful late-game. Glad you liked the game enough to work out different strategies though! :D
Poison, poison everywhere. D:
Idea behind the game is great, execution could've been improved. A little music or SFX would've given it a much better feel. There are depth issues as well (at the pool). But otherwise enjoyable. Good work!
Nice lighting!
Some atmospheric music/sfx would've been nice though.
A full 5/5 from me!
Great use of the theme to create something like this! My only (two) complaints would be that the movement is a bit slow, and some of the inmates acted buggy when I got near them (and it's rather weird that they don't escape even after a door is opened).
But overall, brilliant!
Cool game. Though the theme's a bit loosely implemented since on can shoot again if the bullet doesn't hit anyone. Still, enjoyed it, almost felt like a puzzle game with the target description and all. The scope controls were a bit strange, but not hard. Great entry.
Wow, this is really one of the better entries. Really cool, enjoyed it a lot. Though I hated it when the exp and money disappeared if I couldn't get to it in time. Makes it a lot harder ;_;
Anyways, nice use of the theme and cool control scheme, too! Had some trouble in hectic situations and pressed the wrong skill button a number of times, but got used to it. Had a lot of fun overall. Also, impressively polished.
The visuals! @__@
Pacing was rather slow, but again, I'm still trying to contemplate how you guys did the graphics in such a short time! @_@
That's some really, really awesome work for a jam! Cool character designs and story and everything! Never thought something like this could be done in a jam.
Incredible stuff! Really innovative mechanics, and it's addicting!
Level 5 after level 4 was uhh... D:
Is that even crossable? Tried many variations, but couldn't get past, and I really wanted to play the whole thing. :(
The concept is really cool, the graphics are fitting and I'm digging the track otherwise!
That was... Interesting, to say the least. Your writing was great!
Short and easy, the visual style was nice as well (but sometimes hard for the eyes). Overall, good effort!
YOGO Drugstore, nice. XD
Really liked the idea and a very good effort overall for 48 hours. The crowdwalking and people on each others' heads were weird though.
Okay, this was a really great, polished entry. The movement and controls were pretty slick. Not to mention the cool graphics and gameplay. I just wish I had a few more bullets, though. Really enjoyed it. The only downside would be that you could get to the end without killing a single enemy.
Very well executed, though many things depended on luck alone for the score. I really dig the art and aesthetics.
The subtle changes in the planet and the moon were nice, and the soundtrack's great!
I couldn't see any use for population, though. Kept spamming production and then technology, got 63s.
Wao, exploding wizard. :p
Good little game you got here, would've preferred some health though.
Wow, the origami style graphics were awesome. Had fun playing this. The only downside was that the camera didn't show too much in the direction you were moving, so came down to either be slow and careful or inevitably pick up wrong stuff. But I liked this game pretty much.
Dying never felt so good! XD
Is there even a way out?
[The web version didn't work for me btw.]
Wow, this was seriously brain wracking. Managed to get up to level 7. And the graphics and soundtrack are good, felt nice and polished. The puzzles are a bit hard though, and take time to solve even when you know what you're doing, so gets tedious there.
This is really innovative, but immensely difficult! Nevertheless, great effort!
Well this was pretty nice to play. The music volume was a bit too low, I think? Nice graphics, the controls were a bit stiff, but okay. And man, the wells were too sparse and most of the time I had no idea in which direction to find them. And OH, once I turned around and the the sheer number of those little coyotes was overwhelming xD
Love this! My favorite so far!
The concept is awesome, the game is addicting, and there are a lot of features in there. However, the theme use is weak, some music would be nice, and the retry/next options are rather ugly - these would be my only complaints. But the gameplay makes up for that, so full score from me!
Woah, minimalistic stealth, great stuff!
OMG the wiki! XD
Great stuff, hope this helps you find an internship!
Brilliant!
I'm just dying to know whether I got the right guy in the end! D:
Cool character design. The powers were really interesting. Especially gravity and the toggle blocks. Could spawn some really interesting stuff.
This was interesting. Got 3 different endings...
The feel to the game was really great.
A downside would be the lack of subtitles. The voice recording was clear and understandable enough, but I still feel that since it played an important part in the game, it had to have subs.
Cool concept, cute graphics and music. Had a lot of fun playing this, but just the same thing again and again felt repetitive, even though the level is randomly generated. Still, great work for the compo.
Voice acting! :3
The ship was kinda hard to control though, but overall, fun game!
Yes, this was a great game! It was relaxing, and the graphics, gameplay and music blend together quite well to create the relaxing aesthetics. My only complaint would be that trying to click on the wolved led the animals straight to them. They got eaten most of the time. But the ending was so cool :)
Not bad, but the ending(s) were kind of abrupt, prolly needed some more buildup to connect. But otherwise, nice!
Wow, really too hard :S
But it's fun and amazing at the same time! The retro feel, graphics and music are so nostalgic! And those triangle mushroom things were talking to one another :0
I couldn't even reach the cyclops even after so many retries ._.
The idea is neat, even though the use of theme is weak. I really liked the gameplay, even if it was mostly based on trial and error. Graphics could've been better, but overall, good work for 48 hours!
Whoa, awesome game!
Just lacked some vertical attacking, other than that it's perfect xD
All this in 72 hours? Well I'll be damned! D:
Brilliant!
One purpose, now that's a very good use of the theme. And the enhanced pixel gfx are really, really good. The mechanic, switching among the..uh..characters..and time passing slowly for the unselected ones is innovative indeed. And dynamic background, with those particles floating around, and the tree- those looked really cool. A very good entry in all ways, just wish there could have been some moody track. Really impressive for a game made in 7 hours.
Reading the 4-5 characteristics for each soul all at once was hard, combined with the fact that you couldn't see them again. It would've been nice if you could show some different typed out story of each soul after they were sent to heaven/hell, to add to the replay value. But great aesthetics. Enjoyed it.
ahh...a classic arcade styled shooter. That lock-on part is pretty cool!
AWESOME game! Makes you think a lot before making a decision! And the pixel art is just too good!
The implementation of the theme, one day-never thought I'd see that in a runner. The day-night cycles, the art style and the music's cool. The jumping felt a bit strange, though. And this really needed some checkpoints, I got so close but failed :S
Art style, mind=blown. That, combined with the audio gives it an amazing atmosphere. I had no idea what to do though apart from tun around and attack/pick up random things, but I loved it!
Wonderful use of the theme, and the atmosphere/story is perfectly crafted! Great work with this!
Cool graphics and atmosphere. I liked the trippy camera movements. Couldn't make it to the end, the game was a bit too difficult with the one minute limit. Some attack animations and/or melee attacks would have been nice. There were some really loud drum noises with the music that kinda didn't fit. But overall, I liked it.
I just completed the game, but dunno how I got lucky!! :D :D
Haha, this reminds me of one of my games with a similar theme!
Didn't have much to do though in the game (or was there?). Overall, pretty nice!
Graphical style is very cool, though one complaint is the direction changing was kind of abrupt (maybe the direction of the light changing so fast was the reason).
The gameplay is pretty standard, nevertheless pretty good. Thumbs up!
This was really awesome. I played with crippled, illiterate and spastic. The different ways in which the game can be played is interesting, though frustrating. I could almost feel the spasms when the screen shook. I think it conveyed you message well. Plus, the sound effects are really cool. Great entry.
The sounds making out a melody was awesome. I kinda played it safe because trying to get excellent each time meant imminent instant death. Funny ranks xD
If there were some beats to time the clicks to, it'd be really cool. But well executed, the 'Ready' parts with the bg movement changing felt cool.
Whoa, that was cool, different controls for each form. Had a lot of fun playing, but highest was only 500 something- It was difficult to adjust among the controls changing :S
The background gave a nice sense of speed, though a litle misleading about the position.
Cool city generator! The atmosphere was really nice- with one bullet and a feeling of impending doom. The controls and the movement felt a bit difficult, though, and the sprinting didn't seem to work.
Brilliant use of the theme! Has all the right feels to it. Full score from me! :')
Impressive. Well written and presented. I sometimes felt like I wasn't in control of the story at all, that it was all supposed to happen. But the impression this has created on my mind will last a long time nonetheless.
I think the bounding box of the player is kind of too high, collisions were kind of a pain. A lot of features in there though, I like that. Visuals could've been improved and some more explanation would've been good, but overall pretty nice.
Aww, one hp was hard. Though bullets moved slower than usual, dodging was difficult since they kept bouncing around. And oh, I loved being able to kill enemies higher up by shooting at the ground! And spawning as different characters in different places each time was cool. The combination of 2D sprites and 3D levels was pretty effective, so some great gfx there. Some bugs were there, like being able to shoot through walls if you gun went through it(and getting shot through walls this way). Then there were some jumping bugs with the rocky platforms.
But overall, a very good entry!
Simple and enjoyable, nicely done. Had some problems retrieving the hammer from a dead snake's body, it could kill. The random generation of enemies was a nice feature, and there were many different types of enemies, so that's a good point.
Wow, really cool. Great mood and graphics. A bit hard, but fun nonetheless.
Cool gfx! Gets hard pretty soon, needed more levels.
Perfectly executed! And seriously addicting, burned away too much time playing this. The visuals and sound are pretty awesome too. Thumbs up.
This is dope, man!! The concept is awesome, so is the execution. Will surely continue to play this for long hours.
Hats off!!
Oh man, the mood you created with those graphics and full bass soundtrack feels really amazing. Playing was hard at times and I was struggling with the job and buying food. Felt repetitive and slow, but still, the entry's a cool one.
Wow, awesome use of the theme! Solved all puzzles and got the 2 new skills, but didn't play after that. Do they do anything? ._.
Interesting take. Glad you provided that character table. The shooting and different kinds of attacks felt cool. I'm not sure how the theme fits in, though. Still, great aesthetics.
The keys for note and the sfx combinations they created was strangely intriguing, combined with the collage style graphics, so thumbs up for that. As the others said, this needed to be something more complete. But great effort.
And lol, you only get one level. That's a nice use of the theme xD
It seems that the downloadable one had two versions. About the game, damn that was some nice drivin'! The sliding was fun, and oh, the soundtrack was great xD
The downside would be that the speed was too slow, and it was incredibly difficult to regain control when the car spun out. The sound of the engine was just a looping playback, I think?
That camera zoom in after pressing space twice was great, though xD
This was a great idea, with so much incorporated into that one bullet, it's a source of light as well as a weapon. My ally almost always got killed, and it was hard to retrieve the bullet since the leeches got attracted to it, so had a hard time there. But the graphics and all were really polished, just needed some sound!
It was a while before I figured out that I needed to mash the arrows continuously instead of holding them down. Interesting take, one acorn to reach the sun. The gameplay need to be more precise and solid, though.
Ahaha, I quite liked this game, enjoyed playing very much. Zombie Pumpkins and Potato Farmer and what not, had too much fun! And it was great, getting to choose the difficulty level.
On the downside, the controls and movement needed to be more solid, the button presses(aside from movement) only worked when the button was released. And the Kurebisroboter did nothing, though his voice was cool xD
Really cool graphics and sfx. The arrow only went straight, would have liked it to be effected by gravity more. But the game is still lots of fun.
Cool visuals. Made for a great atmosphere. I couldn't figure out if there was a way to win, is it infinite? Anyways, enjoyed the survival formula.
Humorous and has feels at the same time! D:
Standard platformer otherwise, a few collision issues here and there (the girl jumps to the floor position before she lands), but leaving that aside, this is really good!
Game controls are cool and simple. The increasing lives option was cool.. Innovative theme... Though I think the fps increased on my pc a bit. Also sound didn't work for my pc.
Amazing visuals! Was loads of fun. Shooters are always fun :D
The changing battlefield was cool. And the theme implementation was remarkable, sharing one gun among all players.
I'd love to see a one player mode for this, with an AI companion or something.
Art is awesome! Good job with this!
Insanely funny!! Awesome music!! Loved this!!
For a not-game, this is really LOADS AND LOADS of fun. Oh man, feels almost like I'm being sucked in xD
Smooth movements and cool colors.
Doge, definitely Doge.
Overall it's very neat and really good use of the mechanic! If I had to complain about anything, that'd be the jump speed.
Awesome work. A simple idea, yet beautifully and perfectly executed. It's the little things you've added/paid attention to that give it a nice touch, the scrolling from the starry sky at the start of each level, the yellow..thingy to get in each level, those little flowers and so on. Really liked it. The application of the theme is perfect. One wrong throw and it's equal to dying.
This was a great experience. The style of presentation and the looping gameplay was awesome, though a bit random at times. And the twist in the end, haha. The music did fit in nicely, too. The theme was used nicely, but then having to shoot again and again made its use a bit weaker, but excellent nonetheless.
#YOGO #SWAG
Loved the humor!
Really, really awesome character pixel art. Loved the fact that the scenario is different every time! The Truth-Lie approach was really fitting here. The music gave a nice touch. All in all, really polished, I loved everything about it!
Cool rythm game, enjoyed it. Though a restart button would have been really nice :|
The art's cool too. And of course, I liked the music very much!
Atmospheric, I like that. Platformer's pretty standard though, nothing new there, but it was solid (and rather frustrating). Overall, very cool.
Innovative mechanic, and nice use of the theme. It got a bit repetitive though, not very challenging. Had fun killing Zombiebers, though xD
A great, immersing idea, but it get tedious after a while. Could have used some music and/or sfx. And the interface was really confusing at first, though it can be figured out.
The slashing felt a bit slow and the depth perception was really messed up. But nice aesthetics.
Blah bleh blih blah
Really like the overall feel of the game, and it was damn fun!
Very short, but good nonetheless. Death at every action was kind of weird but funny. The falling snow looked really cool. And how the inside if the house was shown, that was a nice touch. And of course, best game title ever.
Haha, I quite enjoyed the GTA style stuff. Car was a little too hard to handle, so went on foot. Also, strange that killing policemen didn't increase wanted level o.O
Had fun.
Perfect compo entry!
My only complaint would be that the intro is too long for a retry. Otherwise, great graphics, responsive controls, and it was really fun!
Well, the idea was very neat and interesting. Had fun playing this. My only complaint would be that the woodcutters kept destroying the huts :S
Did manage to kill some animals, but after that it felt pretty incomplete. I'd like to see this idea developed further, though.
Crazy, hard and awesome xD
Had trouble figuring out how to control the character properly, then I saw the gameplay vid. Pretty cool, had a lot of fun playing this. And OH, the judges were epic xD
Okay this was ABSOLUTELY BRILLIANT. Simply one of the best puzzle games out there this LD. The puzzles are insanely intricate-they look unsolvable for a long time, and then you see it. This is exactly what I look for in a puzzle game. And the take on the theme was perfect. And the ending, oh man that was hilarious. The music and sfx blended in flawlessly. Very, very nicely executed. I loved it more than I can say.
Haha, this was awesome. The chaining was really cool, plus the upgrades. Though I got stuck in one chain for so long once that the game crashed ._.
Really nice shooter, and the pixel art is top notch! And it's challenging with all the human/zombie mixing as well. A complaint would be the theme usage is pretty weak, but other than that it's a great entry for 48 hours!
Very nice, some music would've made it much better though. The theme usage is kind of far fetched as well.
Innovative, fun, polished. For a 48 hour compo entry this is amazing!
Some levels were so hard :S Especially the bats, they were annoying and didn't even die from lava, those are some really strong bats. There were a few minor bugs like the dead player sprite getting replaced by a ladder and the controls felt a bit stiff and slow. Had fun playing this, though. Good jab with the graphics and music!

LOADS of fun, impressive stuff!
This is neat!
Some animation on the main character would have been even better.
One other annoying thing is that you have no idea which position is free and which is not so you have to keep pressing the keys to check, some indicator may have been nice. But overall, good one!
Epic game. Really,I got to engrossed in this. A bit hard and requires a lot of retries, but worth it! Awesome gfx, awesome sfx, awesome gameplay, awesome everything!
Strangely intriguing. Though this needed more work, the monochrome lines and the sfx made the atmosphere really great.
Lots of collision glitches unfortunately take away most of the fun. Graphics are good though, although the character is upscaled too much I think, it's pixellated. Overall, decent entry!
Haha, great game! "Such friendly girl" xD I laughed so much at that lol. But anyways, couldn't finish it even after a lot of retries, always ran out of bullets and the hammer was useless against the pistols' impact that moves you away from the enemies. The cigarette even restored health though xD
Really had fun playing this!
Oh man, this game was so perfect! It had everything fun stuffed into it, overflowing with it, even! I really loved it. The fights and situations generated, mid-air attacks, insane clashes were too cool, too funny xD
And THOSE SOUNDS. I can't even start. So much win.
Apart from the weak usage of theme, I can't complain about anything here!
How did you guys manage this in 72 hours? D:
Thanks fellas!
@j_peeba: Yeah, adding more variety was the initial plan and probably would have been there had it not been messed up by my router malfunctioning and me catching a fever on the 3rd day. :| Also they're not totally randomly moving, they target the player y'know.
This was a really awesome entry. The pixel art and audio is beautiful! Was hooked on to this for so long. Amazing work for 72 hours.
That was awesome! Really simple and highly polished, and very enjoyable. Had some problems showing the whole thing in the browser with my screen resolution, but worked out with the browser zoom somehow. Overall, a very good entry! Protect the line, kill the fish, collect the treasure...really cool, managing all those things.
Great entry. Sweet beneath-the-surface mechanic. It was a bit weird, but unique. The music and graphics make a great mood, though the music gets monotonous after a while. The level design was good and challenging. Level 29 was a pain. Was stuck to this game until the end. Completed all levels, it was a lot of fun.
One of the most meaningful game I've played in all these Ludum Dares. Honestly.
Loved the use of theme, specifically at the ending! Simply brilliant!
There is one thing I'd like to complain about though: The music. It was kind of ruining the mood.
Now go play some other games to get this thing more visibility! It deserves it.
Okay, that was amazing. The Another World sort of style totally fits with the ever increasing creepy mood. The sounds were fitting as well. The drawn backgrounds were awesome. Short, but great. The application of the theme wasn't so clear, though.
That was a great little game! Superb graphics. The sounds and evens are really funny. There's an issue with the character stopping in midair if you press E, but other than that it's pretty polished. One of the best looking games here.
Interesting take on the theme. Liked it.
Pretty simple, the game's very efficient at what it does. It was a lot of fun once I figured out that the camera movements corresponded to the wave motions. The audio was epic.
That mechanic was simple and effective. The fitting of resources into the give space worked nicely too. The variety of resources available made it great. Impressive entry.
Made it to wave 7!
Excellent work for 2 days!
That was kind of too dark to be properly playable. Also, is there any way to know how much battery is left on the flashlight?
But decent entry otherwise.
I had no idea what was going on and never broke the surface, but it was awesome xD
Frantic and hysterical.
Relaxing and engaging. The colored mutations made it all worthwhile. Has a great feel to it.
Neat idea! A lot of things to keep track of, but very well polished!
Simple and fun! The slow motion was awesome. And it's addicting! The music fits in well. It a bit annoying having to reload it again and again, but it was a great experience overall!
The art style was really cool. It gave a creepy and good feel to the game at the same time. I wish it had been longer, but I enjoyed it a lot. The idea and implementation of the theme- both were rather unique.
Seems like it pretty much requires multiple playthroughs, due to the time mechanic. The game's winnable by hit and try eventually, that really isn't good in a game like this. The look the feel of the game are great, however.
Ahah, that was quite challenging. I was sort of thrown off by the fact that I couldn't tilt it backwards properly...until I realized that you could rotate the view. Quite fun to play. The people are so annoying ._.
The changing environments were awesome! Got as far as the mantle, but after that the attacking didn't help much. Would've been better if the bullets didn't disappear so soon. But it was fun. The moment when the music starts, that feels so great!
Wow, that was a really clever mechanic! I had trouble managing so many things at once, though. Keeping a lookout for the water and oxygen and shooting and dodging. Mainly used the x attack, z was kinda pointless. But it was fun!
Tipanic's fall is inevitable here. :P
That was fun! The music, graphics and the gameplay complement each other perfectly. It was so hard to save the sheep ;-;
Simple and entertaining! This was seriously fun. Dat soundtrack xD
Brilliant stuff! If only it lasted longer..
Well, that was really hard- The controls were not solid, and the one hit kill made it more harder. The place where the 3 zombies were, that was as far as I could get. The foreground elements often hid the zombies from view.
That being said, I absolutely loved the graphics. The pixel art and other elements did seem a bit contradictory, but in the end blended together nicely with the soft gradients and effects. Everything waving in the wind, that was beautiful. The mood changed nicely when entering the cave. I'm definitely going to play the post-jam version, but rating according to this.
That was epic! Really liked everything about it, though I got a little less interested when I had upgraded everything to the max. Figured might as well try to catch all 24 fish, but then got the ending. It was awesome.
The ending music was cool, and the atmosphere created with the wind howling was really amazing. Really great work.
Took me a while to figure out the controls properly. It's a relaxing game. Except for too much right clicking. And wait, how did I kill that planet!? It wasn't my intention, I swear! ;-;
Lol I was expecting death worm games with this theme! Nothing new, but fun nevertheless!
The controls are a bit clunky though. Also, those dying sounds are kinda awful. D:
This was pretty fun! The torpedoes seemed to move in a strange manner when moving, but that was still cool! And that "Why?!" section xD
That was really interesting. Well, I figured out that she gives a good response if you select the correct thing to say according to the situation written below, and then it became more of a remember-match thing. The conversation wasn't fully coherent due to that. Couldn't figure out all the matches, however. Overall, a very well polished entry- and the idea is seriously innovative. I'd love to see this concept expanded.
I really liked the mechanism, telling the story that way. This could've been a lot better, if suppose, the player was given some more freedom to move around levels, not be that linear. The scroll bar kept resetting after each E, so had to scroll down every time. But it was a good attempt, played through till the end.
Starting all over again every time was annoying, since the dealer and other things are far away. The objectives and controls could be a bit more clear with some explanation. The pixel art's cool, though.
Some parts of the screen get cut in the web player version (the texts specifically), but no biggie. Loved rampaging, neat entry!
That was really cool! In the end it comes down to finding and destroying all the enemies asap, since all the missiles are bound to hit you. Well, the enemies did give away their positions by blowing holes in the planet, but it was still hard to catch up with them. Made it up to the 4th level with some luck. Good entry. And yeah, good use of the theme, too!
That was really awesome! The world map was cool, and the monsters were even cooler. And that battle music and the last scene, so awesome!
The only issue I had was with the aiming, the cursor wasn't shown so the crosshair movement was a bit confusing.
Mouse aiming would've helped this a lot. Cool concept though.
That was a really amazing entry! Everything was spot on. The gameplay was so much fun! And the arbitrary story to make up for the gameplay setting was just...too funny.
Neat physics!
The 2nd camera was kind of annoying and messing with the gameplay however.
The movement of the character was awkward. Funny. The control could have been a bit solid, with loose movement like that I found it hard to avoid the sharks.
Awesome mechanic! Couldn't get past the 4th level :|
But it blew me away! Could form some insanely cool puzzles with this one, which you've obviously done because the way to complete the 3rd level was...just...it made me swear. Really great entry!
Feels kind of random, since you have no idea what's next.
But very well polished.
That was a really interesting puzzle mechanic. Enjoyed it. Though I couldn't make sure how many nodes could be connected to one node. Sometimes it was 2, sometimes 3. The use of the theme seemed a bit loose.
That was really neat and polished. You even had an animation for William panting when he ran out of stamina! The starting music was really good. The story was interesting, too. The only downside would be the walking part, and pressing shift just drained the stamina- without sprinting.
Interesting entry. Quite hard to beat, had a good village going using the strategy you mentioned. Things had to be a little more detailed, though, since I couldn't see how much the buildings cost to build. But the visuals and mood are really great.
Welp, that was hard. @_@
Nothing new, but solid entry!
Wow, this kept me for so long! After reaching the red orb, I didn't know what to do. I thought it was supposed to end there. But well, figured might as well try to get it out, was easy enough. Completed it. The puzzle was insanely well thought out. Really a brilliant puzzle game.
That was so retro and so awesome! Those monsters in the dark, scary. It was really hard, too, which is why I couldn't complete it...got the flame gun and reached the diamond thing but kept dying after that.
Of all the simulators.... XD
Why is it Worm Simulator >>2012<< though?
Fun game - go karting with chariots basically! You don't really need any of the power ups to win and it's pretty easy without them. In fact, I'd say the flamethrower only slows you down. But very cool work for teh amount of time! :)
I would say it would have been much easier on the player without the skidding, specifically for precision platforming like here. The graphics (main character, contrasted with teh background) felt out of place sometimes as well. But overall, good work for the amount of time! :)
Sokobana-like puzzles, with clever level design. It suffered noticeably from the lack of sound and lack of variety in music (and an undo mechanic would have helped), but it's a good entry nevertheless.
Finding out what the boxes were doing was a bit frustrating at first (since the first 2/3 levels can be crossed without even understanding that properly), but eventually got it. Very cool idea otherwise, leaving aside a few collision detection and speed problems here and there. Anotehr thing that kept bothering me (very minor) was the view movement when you switch - I'm assuming the switching done is not "true switching" per se, but the player moves up/down to a similarly spaced level somewhere else in the room? (Because of which I can see the spikes moving with me, and that broke immersion for some reason.) Very cool game otehrwise though, with some great puzzles!
Why am I shooting down kites? I liked those kites. ;_;
Seriously though, very nice and "relaxing" gameplay (whew, it's weird to say that for a game where you're basically shooting things). I think I didn't even use the left cannon ever, but that was me. The visuals and audio is spot on!
Is it just 2 levels? I think it needs a bit more gameplay to comment properly. :P I kinda wanted to know what the egyptians would do with all that tech.
I remember making a pretty complex game a few LDs ago, without a tutorial. Instead I had this "Free Play" mode without pressure of time (waves of enemies) where players could get used to the game and its controls first. A lot of people said that helped. This game could have used something like that too (I understand creatign a tutorial for this would have taken some time) - because it's a very solid idea otherwise. Just that it needs a lot of time to even understand. Great work!
Pretty fun. I didn't use the gun at all because it was pretty slow and it was just easier to run people over. Also, as a general thing, I would suggest to avoid installers. Good work overall!
This is a very cool idea, just needed some more affordances. Like I would have really liked to know when I could change gravity instead of having to press the direction key all the time (since timing is important). I would also have liked some kind of way to speed up the human once the block's work is done, but that's minor. Very cool idea otherwise and some neat level design, good work.
This is great! The level design was good, though I felt tthe difficulty curve was in reverse - the first few puzzles were very hard compared to the next few. The art and audio is spot on too, albeit very loosely based on the theme. But great work nevertheless!
The idea is great, just mechanically needs some elements to make each playtime shorter with more feedback. As it stands, there's not much "fun" to be had here. Some background music would have been good too. Overall though, very original, so props for that.
Nice use of Sokoban puzzling. The graphics could use some touching up, but the puzzles were pretty good. I would say this game would benefit from a faster grid movement speed - at this moment it kind of "lags" after key input. Good work overall!
Haha this is incredibly well done and unique! Very cool art style and gameplay. One thing is that since you can basically machinegun your way in the game and you don't really get punished for it, there's a lack of challenge. But otherwise very unique entry!
Hah, that was funny and original (and maybe, soon-to-be accurate? :P). One major complaint for me would be the UI - very off, the font choice was kind of bland, and its positioning was in weird places. But very nice idea otherwise.
Not particularly an original idea, but very well executed for a jam game. The mood is great (and the audio cue on click initially was brilliant!). Level design could have been better, but it's a jam so it's excused. Good work!
Didn't like how fast the beam moved - a gradual progression might have built the tension more. Currently it's pretty much - you see the death beam and you're going to die in a few seconds. (Or I'm doing something horribly wrong.)
Apart from that, wonderful game. Unique, fits the theme and you have to actually plan and dig. Great work!
Nice idea! Pressing Space freezes the game for some reason. I was also trying to do mouse look (which is somewhat there, but very slow?). But otherwise, the idea is very cool. :)
Thanks everyone!
@Darenn: By writing I'm assuming you mean the text I wrote in the game description. That may actually confused you more, because there's not exactly many mechanics to remember in the 3rd level. :p Most of these mechanics are introduced gradually. Thank you for playing though!
@Hammers: I really wanted to do that (like each puzzle a name as a hint/narrative) but didn't get time. We needed to have exactly 16 levels for the level selection screen and ending to work, and that took up time. :V Thanks for playing!
@suimisu: Thanks for the detailed feedback and kind words! About the teleport, it works always, just seems like that - because logically, if a particle teleports and hits a dead end, it bounces back in the opposite direction and teleports back to the original teleporter - giving the effect that it never teleported in teh first place. :S Your screen brightness may be a bit low however, because the background isn't black or static (there are things moving in the background, but it's very light to avoid distracting). Same with the visual indicator of pieces (and I agree, it could have been a much better indicator, but it's there).
Thanks guys!
@Kizler: There aren't 42 levels, just 16. The reasoning behind that naming is in the ending. :P
@Neonable: Thank you! ^.^ I added the move speed option because I found it incredibly helpful when testing. :D
@Alphish: "... the audiovisuals were impressive AS USUAL" *looks up profile* Oh, Alice. :P I honestly didn't expect people to be completing the game specifically during jam speed-runs. But yeah, if we hypothetically had 42 puzzles and the time to implement them, I'd assume we'd have actually planned out levels instead of levels born out of sleep deprivation. :D
@Ryusui: You can. Right click on a placed tile to delete it. ^^"
@Jupiter_Hadley: Great stuff, as usual. :D
Thanks guys!
@Steven Miller: I've made a few puzzle games for jams and somehow it never occured to me to have a Skip button. That is a great suggestion, thanks! :D Glad you liked the game!
@DDRKirby(ISQ): Well, considering most of these levels were created at night in a sleep-deprived state, some of them being "not elegant" would be a very nice way to put it actually. We needed 16 levels to make the ending work, so *had* to make them (would have happily spent that time polishing other things otherwise - like the visual distinction you talked about)! Glad you had fun with the rest though!
We actually had SFX for different things happening in the game, but they usually happened so fast that it became a lot of noises overlapping and we decided to not use them. Maybe using them for more important events would have worked (like particles neutralizing each other).
The skipping mechanic, I will definitely be implementing the next time I do a puzzle game for a jam. =]
Thanks for the detailed comment!
Hahah that was fun! Love the chariot physics and the seemingly random intro! This reminds me of a global game jam game I did. :D
Things that could make it better off the top of my head:
> Procedurally generated (and ofc bigger) city.
> More pickup/drop-off points. Seemed like I was gettign the same ones in every playthrough.
> Some other ending condition, not time. Roman police chasing you maybe?
Great work though, loved it!
The voice acting added a lot to the game! Very cool game otherwise, puzzles are pretty standard but well made. (I may have wanted a mini-map at one point because of so many rooms.) The visuals and design was consistent, good work!
I think the mouse to interact might be misleading when you're not using the mouse for anything else (specifically mouse look). It took me a while to figure out how to even interact (before coming abck here and reading teh descr.). Otherwise, decent submission! Lags a lot on my machine, which kind of ruined it for me. :<
I had some trouble understanding the view and depth. I guess it's mostly because of the grid lines - in isometric view with depth you'd normally have no grid lines or very light grid lines on the same surface height, to help differentiate. While the color helped, it wasn't enough and the perspective took away from what is otherwise a good puzzle game. Has a difficulty spike midway, but it's a jam so that's excused. Good stuff! (Played the post-jam version, just to be clear.)
Were all the visuals made in the time frame? That is amazing!
The game's pretty fun too, albeit standard (never thought you could have zombies and ancient tech mixed together :P ).
This is the most innovative use of theme I've seen so far this LD. Brilliant work, kept me going and reading manuals for a while! One things I noticed which may be just me doing something weird - it sends a fax even if you did it wrong with no explanation. I probably would have wanted an explanation or it to not send it at all.
This is incredible for the amount of time! My only criticism is that the 3D walking around felt a bit detached from the rest of the game and art style, but the whole thing is fun, very fitting to the theme and unique. Well done, I'm surprised this doesn't have more comments!
Very detailed art and style, which also meant it needed some more affordance. I had trouble with the arrows (where to go) and things to find. But very nice and relaxing otherwise, until you get to the decoding puzzles and it's not relaxing anymore. :P Great entry!
I tried your new version and the speed is fine. Looks pretty too! But I really do not like teh amount of slipping for a precision platformer. :< Managed to get most of the items but was stuck down below, unable to get up in teh end. >.<
The game could have really done without that machinegun sound. I had to turn down the speaker for that. Aside from that there are bugs in places, and I'm pretty sure you know which (HP going negative, sprites not facing correct direction, bullets starting before gunpoint etc.). Could be fun with some more polish, good attempt! :)
Should have really read the instructions first time around, otherwise it would have just been Duck Hunt for me. :P Very fun game, and screenshakes always seem to have this positive effect.
This was very cool for a first entry! The idea was nice, but it could have had a better implementation - particularly on the visual side (not the graphics, but visual feedback - like when it hits something, when it rotates, indication of direction etc.). The length and timing of the solar ray confused me a bit too. But good work nevertheless!
Did you just make me feel bad about a square wheel? ;_; 11/10!
Seriously though, very nice atmosphere - it's well polished and pretty unique. Like you don't "roll", but you kinda-sorta-roll. :P
Very polished for the time frame, yet frustratingly hard (but cool use of 2D cover systems). A funny story isn't doesn't quite suit the white scrolling text though, for some reason. Good stuff overall.
Very neat idea. The mechanic was intuitive to learn too without explanation, since people would be trying to jump-attack initially and then find out that you can jump higher. Neat visuals and audio, good entry!
Really cool idea for the mechanic (and the first time I'm hearing Blunderbuss since Screencheat). The visuals are polished. I feel the reload time was a tad bit slow to properly enjoy, but great and fitting entry otherwise!
Well that ending was... anti-climatic (but totally accurate). Interesting and pretty game though, I was expecting some puzzles however from the looks of it. :P Would have preferred Down or Space to be the Message forwarding key instead of Enter (since it's further away on the keyboard). But yeah, solid compo entry!
This is great, but I'm confused. How do you beat a level again? Can't seem to find any time to beat (just the world record)? I just kept playing the same level over and over, unlocking new parts and upgrading the mammoth, but I couldn't get to teh next level. Still, very impressive for the time frame!
Heh, very cool idea to base a puzzle on Conway's Game of Life (and the game incidentally reminds me of a version I made a few years ago). For someone unfamiliar with the simulation, you propbably needed an explanation on how pieces evolved. Good stuff though.
4.78. Needed more logs ;_;
So yeah, finally tried it (finally as in I got distracted by your previous LD entries and started playing them instead). Very cool stuff, I liked the use of theme, and the cat movement animation to along with it (which, although, gave an ancient egyptian vibe and not a medieval one).
One slight thing that was a bit jarring for me personally was a lack animation from carrying to attacking (just one frame I'm assuming), it could have made it smoother. Loved the detailing though, from the flow to the idle animation. Audio was fitting as well.
Gameplay variety was just enough to keep things interesting, and it had great pacing. There were some very close encounters too, and resource management with logs/eggs to go with it.
An additional suggestion, since people climb up and catch you - maybe have a way to throw them while they're running as well? (or it might break the game flow, I don't really know).
But overall, a very well polished and complete experience for a jam. :)
The file size seems a bit (read HUGE) compared to the content. Nice art style otherwise, but my main issue was the pacing - it was pretty slow and it didn't make much sense to move around that much just to fight a few things later (specifically when it's just moving and not doing naything else). Otherwise, good entry!
Nice, short, aesthetically pleasing experience. Could complete the thing by just spamming random buttons and not knowing how each affected the dinosaurs or the world - so it probably needs some degree of explanation (preferably visually) and challenge. Good work nevertheless!
Pretty solid standard platforming. I do not like the skidding though, specially when speed otherwise is slow - it's makes it really hard for precision platforming and timing. Good work nevertheless! :D
Really fun game. And brutal. Holy hell, the game keeps you on your toes always, especially when there's half a hundred missiles following you! Very challenging. The movement takes a bit of getting used to, but after that you can just go try for a high score. Global highscores is a pretty driving feature for the players, I'll come back and try again later to get a better score!
Pretry cool art and sounds, give the retro feel to it. I'm not sure if combining a puzzle mechanic with real time movement(having to time the movements to dodge the spikes) was a good thing. The Took me a while to figure out the 2nd level, the 3rd was easier, I think.
Interesting take on the theme, although it did feel a bit forced. Nevertheless, the idea is unique andI dig it. Takes a while to understand what's going on, and that's perfectly fine for a puzzle game like this. The art was spot on (reminded me of Mini Metro... the layout, not the style). Cool stuff!
Short and simple. Thank you for that intro screen and setting the expectation actually - I might have been talking about how the puzzles were too easy otherwise. :P
Mood was great, gfx fit in nicely with everything, I enjoyed the overall experience.
I found one bug in the 2 planet core level, where if you click one core twice fast enough to collect it, it'll fill up the slot for both cores - but that's nothing game-breaking heh. Good stuff!
This is the kind of new stuff I expect from LDs, super cool!
2 suggestions: Adding rotation on other axes to the mouse would have been nice, it was sometimes hard to see where I'm placing stuff. Adding the ability to place multiple objects (by dragging?) at once instead of having to go back and click again would be appreciated too!
Great stuff otherwise.
I was confused at first, because I wasn't getting the characters to spawn at the start, and couldn't do anything- this was in the web version- but the jam version worked for me.
Very cool game, impressive concept. I love a good strategy game, and this one had me from the start, as soon as I figured out what to do. The art style, using 3D hex grid with pixels was something very cool and unique. Slightly buggy, where I couldn't do any actions even though the buttons were not grey.
Amazing job overall!
That. Was. One. Badass. Game! Very engaging and fun to play! I wasn't really expecting a second level! And so many weapons. Bosses, too! The amount of content, considering that it's a jam game, is staggering. I didn't use the dash much, because it took me right into the place I was firing at, quite risky. Too many colours killed the art a little, it didn't feel consistent to me. Implementation of the theme also seemed a bit loose.
The music and sounds were great, though!
Good job overall.
Did not expect to see a game based on the allegory of the cave! That is a pretty neat idea! The mood and setting was great for that too - but your difficulty curve may have been way off (which is expected for a jam), and I couldn't go far. Overall, good stuff though!
Graphics are cool, would have loved a bit more "juicyness" for turning (like just the spaceship tilting smoothly would have added to it) - but I guess there's not enough time for that in a jam. The gameplay itself, while simple and fun - lacks depth to an extent (or I was just a terrible player), because it felt reliant on luck about when a random bullet would take away my health (like a random Hanzo scatter arrow). I also feel having auto-shoot instead of tapping to shoot would have been nice. Good stuff overall though!
Kicking luggage for traveling is an awesome idea. I like the idea of the overcrowded airport making it difficult to get to your gate before the time limit. Good entry!
Had a nice time playing this. Was totally confused at first, but eventually figured it out. Short and sweet.
Like always, I dig the art and audio (chiptunes FTW)! The game itself is pretty interesting and fun, and my platforming background made me want to jump all the time. :P The co-op is much more fun than the single player, after I grabbed a colleague to play it with me. The level progression was nice too, with new additions each level (and reminded me of Overcooked, like others have mentioned). Good stuff!
Fun little game. I think the hitboxes are huge for the bullets, but other than that - it's a well polished experience for 3 days!
Solid, fun game. Delivered exactly what I expected! I came 2nd in the first try, and I actually assumed the percentage was how many dandelions I've collected, not distance (missed the text :P ). Good stuff!
Cool stuff. Nothing particularly new, but extremely well polished, and as per the description - overscoped! The visuals and music was spot on (some SFX would have been nice). It feels like the concentration was mostly on the graphics and visual presentation (particles et al) that the actual game (including balancing) was ignored - which is perfectly acceptable for a jam game. I hope you keep working on this!
This is pretty awesome! (Snow globes too!) The controls/rotation was a bit finicky, but not enough to take away from the mood (including gfx/audio). Critically, I'm not sure whether the moving purely in a straight line was the best decision when the world is round - it led to a few frustrating getting stuck at places situations, but that's a minor complaint in an otherwise great 3-day creation!
I dig the art! And the audio goes well with it! Unfortunately my brother remained perpetually sad and I wanted to give him a hug but I could only feed him turnips and let him stay sad :< Heh, great entry though!
A well executed slasher entry. Art is very nice and the audio add a lot to the game. The stress-o-meter was really effective on my nerve too.
I'm utterly confused about what I'm supposed to do apart from petting them, but full marks for the pixel art!
Thanks guys!
@cosmic-adventure-squad: You weren't missing any action, it's meant to be mainly a story told around player indifference. There's 4 days in total, with something new happening each day.
Thanks for the comments guys! Much appreciated!
@swiftillusion: Well apparently it's both a pro and a con judging by the comments hahah. Depends on what you expected out of this. We wanted to try a purely "show not tell" approach and see if we can get away with it. Thanks for the detailed comment!
@davidthelazar: That was our intention! The lack of interaction was a conscious decision, but it's a fair assumption that it would be a hit and miss with players who went into it expecting a "gamey" game (which is why I described it as an "experience", not a game). Thank you for playing!
Thanks for the comments everyone!
@devastus: I removed the image heh, you were right. To be fair, all those 3 actions serve a singular purpose - to move the story forward. The "working" action also serves as a hint to what's coming next (it's very subtle and only a few caught on to it, but that is expected). Thanks for the criticism though!
@philomory: That is an interesting suggestion. I have a feeling adding proper "game" elements into something like this would need very careful consideration, since that might tend to break immersion (say, when you're stuck and searching for keys or something - taking your mind off of what's happening around you to a more puzzle-oriented mindset). But it's a great idea to think about.
@rongo-matane: Thank you, that made my day!
@elzach: The art is inspired by titles like Superbrothers and zzzz-zzzz-zzzz.
@jupiter-hadley Thank you so much! ^_^
This was so random and funny and unique in ways I love. Good job!
Good stuff. The first thing I did was spam Space on a tile to make it grow darker, and it gave me the impression that maybe we had to do that to mine deeper elements lol. Might have confused me there. But once it's figured out, it's a pretty neat puzzle game!
This is hilarious - everything from the movement to the expressions! Also a very unique take on the theme! Reminded me of QWOP so much, just less hard and more funny. Great work!
This was pretty cool. the crescent moons were pretty hard to fight. I thought I could just dash my way out, but then when they were a lot in a row there'd be just too many projectiles incoming to dash out of hahah. Liked the writing too, good stuff!
Heyo, this is a pretty cool little game. It takes a while to take off and I was contemplating quitting at the second runner scene. :P Thankfully I persevered, and it turned out to be a fun story too! Good stuff for 48 hours!
I don't like being constantly killed by bird poop - which is something I never thought I'd write some day. Good stuff, the difficulty needs a lot of balancing but then again, it's a jam game so can't complain!
The pixel art is nice, and the audio sets it up! Like others said, waiting for the gnomes make it a bit lacking in the actual game department, but overall solid work! (Did not get the relation with the theme much though!)
Good job with the gfx and setting! You guys may have taken up a bit too much for 72 hours, but for that time frame it's pretty cool!
Fun to play, though the sounds seemed a bit over the top. The graphics were kinda inconsistent but I guess that's a side-effect of not making your own. Great concept, though.
This is very cool! The graphics are great, the controls are tight, gameplay is pretty neat too! My only gripe was that I could not keep track of what was happening everywhere because of the view, and I lost people because they were on the other side and it gave no notification. But then again, it's a lotta content for 72 hours, so kudos!
Lol those expressions. Fun stuff, would have been nicer if there was some kind of "orbiting" I think instead of just me rotating the mouse pointer. Some feedback on when things get destroyed would have added in some more polish factor I guess? But it's a pretty cool idea and warmly executed. Ha!
This is pretty sweet. The first time I tried, I stuck to the left, and no energy refill came anywhere after the first three, and no bus came to the left, nothing to "dodge". Next time I tried, no buses still came to the left, although a few refills came so I survived longer hahah. Fun game! But based on that experience: 1. Spawn more stuff to the left. Most of the buses were in the centre. 2. Spawn energy refills (at least one) if the player is low on health. It kind of sucks to have a game over when it's not your fault at all.
Great concept and execution! Loved the overall feel, the wireframe-sphere floor was pretty cool. The difficulty progression was great too, you get punished if you don't plug the leaks quickly!
This is pretty cool - an option to play our own midis would have been even nicer! ;) With the lack of an actual reason to go from end to end, I decided to take it upon myself to try going between from one end to the other and back, kind of like a mini Frogger in a piano hahah. I do think giving the player a reason to do this would have helped though - you can essentially just go back and forth between the same 2 tiles otherwise until they shake and then you repeat the same in anotehr 2 tiles. Very solid and fun entry otherwise!
This was super fun! It is a bit confusing at first specially the Shift key aggressiveness, but it worked out in the end! Great stuff with the visuals too - fit the lighthearted approach perfectly! There was one round where I got swamped almost instantly, that was no fun hahah. Great stuff overall!
This game was surprisingly fun. And cute. Loved the amoeba faces and voices! The atmosphere and ambient bgm was excellent, gave a really nice and relaxing feel to the game. Gameplay got hard quick, but no matter. The game just has a way of making you happy on the inside. Great job!
Fun little game. Has some of the more dominant platformer problems though - like getting stuck around corners, and too little friction for the weight, when you need heavily timed jumps. I would have also like the game to restart immediately when I die instead of playing the audio, it breaks the "gotta beat it" frustration replaying factor. :P Good stuff otherwise!
This is awesome! Very well polished, original (as far as I can tell anyway), and has a lot of depth to it! The art and audio is spot on too - with the idea of the game. I don't particularly think it pertains to the theme as much, but that's okay. Great stuff!
The player reminded me of Rose from Plants vs Zombies Garden Warfare 2 hehh. Interesting little game, a bit too hard to control. There is a deadzone but I felt the problem was the sensitivity - how fast you changed direction, not the area. Good effort though!
This is brilliant - very clever puzzle design! The graphics are okay, but I like the fact that the entire concentration is on the puzzle design! The first level was comparatively harder than the rest that followed though. One particular thing I didn't like was the somewhat inconsistency in which level you're allowed to shoot (like level 3 for example - which is also my favorite level so far hahah). But overall, very impressive!
Concept is fun, execution lacks polish somewhat (and it's okay, because it's just 72 hours). There is one thing that particularly bothered me - that your speed was much less than the swarm's, which isn't particularly a great idea in games where you're fighting against swarms - unless you give the player that much more firepower (which we didn't have here). Good effort though!
This was unique. The gameplay difficulty needs a lot of tuning, but that's expected. I think though you should have focused on a very essential part of this game more - the UI. It was pretty confusing for a long time. Some more random elements like unexpected accidents or something would be appreciated too! Great stuff otherwise!
Hey, edited the older comment. I meant like more incidents, because I kept getting Car accident, Got beat up, and Food poisoning endless number of times hahah. I know it's time constrained, just for when you expand. :)
This is super fun, which I think it was aiming for. Did not expect a boss fight in this hahah. The difficulty curve is a bit high, particularly for the water balancing - and I personally think it's because how the pushing works - I forget to keep the X pressed, or press it when I'm not in place, and feels a bit un-intuitive since I move so fast. Minor complaints though, great work overall!
Simple but fun! Had a great time trying to beat the players' high scores.
This game is pretty awesome, but I think it's the wrong kind of game for an online jam to get feedback on. People will rarely have another person with them while going through the games, unlike in onsite jams.
On topic of the actual game, gfx was top notch (ahem, except the default Unity UI, which kind of broke immersion when they came up for that reason), and gameplay was fun (thankfully I am in office and could grab a colleague to play) - even if I think it's a bit too slow paced for its own good. But overall, this is a solid entry!
Sweet graphics! I liked the audio too! The sperms did not particularly looked like sperms to be honest though, hahah. I would have loved an indicator to know when I had the orb ready as well. But overall good stuff!
It's nothing particularly new, but it does what it does extremely well - kudos for that! The art, polish and audio were spot on, and the difficulty never felt unfair per se. Very impressive.
*drools over the shader efects* This is super polished and fun - well done! The level-as-health mechanic feels very organic too! Reminds me of this VR game - Spacecats With Lasers (just by theme similarity, heh). Good stuff!
This is very awesome, with some charming presentation! My two complaints would be that the UI was out of the screen in windowed mode, and the jumping was a bit weird/floaty? But otherwise, amazing work for 3 days! (Also, might wanna make the interact button obvious. My first two playthroughs were running around, then suddenly it says get to launch pad, and failing at that, finding nothing else to do, quitting the game, coming here to vent, then realizing there's a F interact. :P )
Amazing job with the little details, planets' expression, particles and all. The music sets up a great mood too, but the game play is very trial-and-error sort and can get frustrating at times since you don't see where exactly your hit will throw the asteroid. The levels can be finished in multiple ways however, so that's all good.
Discarding the fact that you may not ever die, this is brilliant all around - with the aesthetics, audio, and idea (took me 3 strikes to figure out attacking, but yeah). I wish it had a bit more challenge, and going on the other side of the cube was a bit easier (I had to click a few times to get it right). But great stuff overall!
This is my favorite entry in the jam so far! Great art direction, and some stellar audio to back it up and create a truly intense mood. The creature is a bit hard to control with the mouse (specifically the mouse going out of the game area) and I believe keyboard controls might have worked better, but it wasn't that much of a bother. I also accidentally killed the humans when I didn't want to, which was sad, but hey it's a giant creature with a giant body - some things are out of their control! Great stuff!
Very cool entry. I wouldn't say I was particularly fond of the way the dialogues were presented (I can attribute that in part to the fact that all the lines were cut midway in the dialogue box, I'd normally avoid doing this unless it's a super long sentence). The graphics was serviceable, and the idea behind it was great, just needed some more... "nuance"? Great effort though for the amount of time.
All these tweens are life for my eyes! Everything in here was gorgeous (and I cannot stress enough about the tweens :P ). It is a bit confusing on the gameplay side (that, or it was too easy to the point where I thought I was doing something wrong so nothing was happening hahah). Got x9 x10 on my best try! Good stuff!
Let me start with this: The at style is amazing! I love everything about it!! But at its heart, this entry is just a very basic runner game. I think you can make this way more interesting, if there are enemies, or other factors in the scenery above, that affect the gameplay in the undergound tunnel(?).
Great stuff! Love the quality of the art
The theme is kind of crammed in, but it is an excellent and unique puzzle game otherwise - so props for that! Some of the puzzles are genuinely fantastic, and I do not recall seeing the "moving window" mechanic before, so yeah - great stuff!
Honestly I stopped caring about levels later and just messed around with the robot. It has a super fun core - props for making this!
This was hilarious. I did 4 playthroughs, it was really fun! The graphics were great, along with the atmosphere - reminded me of Faster Than Light. Felt very polished overall, simple and effective.
I was navigating the asteroid field so successfully until...y'know what. Bastards. Made me laugh too hard. One of the best games I've played this LD.
Very Mini Metro-esque (in a good way, of course). Initially I was thinking we need an option to speed things up, but then late-game it became kind of obvious that wasn't needed. Great use of theme, gfx, audio - its one of those 5 star across the board entries!
I think this was the weirdest game I've played so far. Strangely captivating. Especially the way it lights up. It was sort of hard to get a feel of what was where in the level, as sometimes the platforms you had to reach were out of the view. A simple 2 or 4 frame animation for the character would've helped, but I suppose it's acceptable given the time constraint.
Great mood you have set up here. The graphics look gore-y and pleasantly disturbing! I think the soundtrack is a bit too "energetic" and sorta dampens the mood? I like the attention to detail with the phone :how you can keep the screen active without the flashlight on, to see a bit ahead; and how you go slower when you're using a phone(like in real life hahaha)
Great entry!
Interesting concept! And I'd love to play the game more. But there's a point where you have time a jump almost too perfectly, owing to the character being super large(either die from the red on the "roof" or fall to the red on the floor)
I think the game would benefit from checkpoints. My only irk is that I don't find the relation the LD theme.
Has a very Night In The Woods feel to it (and I'm sure that was a conscious decision). Super polished as always. :) If I had to nitpick, it would be: 1. The music box rewinding animation at the end of each day annoyed me a bit, since it's unskippable. 2. The giraffe looked angry, heh.
But otherwise, solid entry - graphics, mood and audio are on point! I have mixed feelings about the story - while I do like it, I have a nagging feeling that I missed out on something (like a point or a message). Or is it just about ending the loop and that's it?
I like how the game has mashed contra and bullet hells together! The dialogues give us an insight to the character as well. The bosses are challenging. It took me 3 tries to take down the 2nd boss, but the third(last?) was super hard with his lasers XD
Entertaining game!
Pretty standard stuff, but super well polished - I really liked it! If I had to complain, it would be the gravity and wall hanging - they made it harder, but I'm not convinced in a good way. It made the whole thing feel "floaty", and that is not a feeling I'd want to have in a precision platformer. Overall though, they weren't major detractors, great work!
Who the heck came up with this crazy stuff? I love it, and love how the game doesn't take itself seriously! Once I found out I could get bigger I just couldn't stop playing, I had to see how far I could go. Reached over 5000 points, the game seems to get easier(though slower) as you level up. Graphics, audio and SFX were perfect for it. And you even stuffed in an awesome credits screen too! Amazing job!
The game is pretty good, it could get a bit tougher as time progresses though to increase engagement. What truly sets this game apart from the rest is the beautifully done TV ads. They were a blast to listen to, and were extremely funny! I'd pay to watch more of that TV XDD
Thanks guys!
@porkeh 430 is more than my best, so you're alright. ;) That thing about watching the crystal die slowly has been mentioned to me before, we just didn't have any time to properly balance waves so they don't gang up. Wanted to add something to counter it - like a get-out-of-jail card (destroy all enemies with X scraps) but didn't get time. The initial plan had the player attacking with the hook too if it hit an enemy, dropped that because of time too lol. Thanks for playing!
@mrtroy You need scraps to revive dead crystals. I've uploaded a post-jam version with better instructions and not walls of text lol. A good strategy would be to speed up battery generation using scraps as much as possible so you're never out of charge. Thanks for playing!
@narudgi The camera is basically following the mouse with an accel/decel in a fixed area, if that helps. :)
@will-walters Well you could travel outside the ship with the hook, it's faster. ;) Yeah, maybe not the coolest thing, it's not precision platforming hahah. Thanks for playing!
So much love put into the animations. Everything was really fluid, really dynamic. The feedback felt great! The gameplay was a tad simple, but everything else more than covers up for it. Slight mishaps with the gameplay where some red and green blocks aligned and started moving together. The sfx and music fit in really well. Loved destroying the appliances with my remote control, ahahaha.
That was really fun, spent a lot of time playing. Pretty cool strategy game, although the multiple systems tend to get unnecessarily complex at times, especially around the 7-8th level. The graphics sort of felt like an incompatible mix, with the game board resolution being really high, the portraits being pixel art inside high-res oval frames. The soundtrack, I really liked. Fits in with the overall pace of the game.
Good stuff. The mechanics were new and interesting, I was confused initially why the turrets stopped shooting before looking at the comment section. Turns out the gameplay was very balanced after all!
Probably the best thing I've played this LD so far. Sure, I didn't enjoy the pop-ups, they were way too frequent. But that didn't stop me from appreciating it - so much content you got there, with the humor to back it up! Awesome stuff, had me smiling all the way.
General jam level design tip: If you know some features aren't the game's strong suit, avoid making that obvious in the level design. :P Having precision jumping in the game isn't a good idea when the collisions are wonky.
Good effort though! Pixel art is nice!
This is super nice! The pixel art and the simplistic gameplay made it for me! If I had to nitpick I'd say: 1. The collision boxes were a bit off. 2. The energy ran out a bit too fast for me.
But overall, great work!
It's quite fun managing the coal while struggling to fend off bandits...until they gang up. There's no control during animations so it's a bit hard moving and shooting based on the timings. I'd have liked it better if the response was immediate. Nice choice of music, totally gets you in the mood, ahahaha.
Hey, pretty neat game you got there! It does crash from time to time, but I guess that's expected with such short dev time. I like killing some aliens with my space boomerang XD
The precise timing and placement of the shot made for pretty interesting gameplay. The ambience created by the background sound was great. Sadly, I kept getting killed by seemingly invisible robots. The collected batteries carried over to the next round if unused, something that could be abused to get a high score.
This was pretty cool. My main gripe was that I kept getting dead end tiles, and the reveal thing seemed pretty useless for something taking up this much amount of water (or maybe I wasn't using it right?). The idea and execution of everything was top notch though, so props for that.
Those were some superbly designed puzzles, and a great progression for teaching the mechanics. I especially liked the 2nd last one, being able to loop one light over and over. Completed the game without getting stuck. The pixel graphics and music blend together well to create the mood(though the music wasn't looping, it stopped). The shadows help there too. People have already stated the usual issues.
What I especially liked was that there were no walls of text to get the player started, and you managed to do it solely with the design of the level, which is exactly what games should do! Great entry, congratulations.
I like the mood and the art. The title page did raise my expectations more than it should have haha! The physics is kinda wonky though, I don't feel like I'm in total control. The character seems to pick up momentum like sonic, which is pretty fun! Great effort!
You don't see a fighting game in LD every day! Good stuff overall - graphics are super polished, gameplay is (from my assumption) pretty fun - playing against yourself (left and right hands) does kind of give both of them an advantage. :P Any shitty AI would have done wonders for the entry really, but great work overall!
Duuuude that was harsh! Pretty dark. Although the interactivity was a bit limited since the story was (almost) linear, I enjoyed it. The ladder game was rather annoying, was trying random combinations at first but then gave up to exhaustive search...I suppose this kinda represents the desperation of the situation. This was the first text game entry I found this LD, good job! Rated.
Glad to see another resource management entry! The game's pretty fun! But there are a couple of nuances that make the game play slower than it should.(Having to close the character description panel before clicking on a new guy, Slow paced battle)
But a pretty good effort! I love the humor! ^^
Solid job on this! Some of the guards take too long to move away, making me wait a bit longer than I had hoped. (I just run and jump over him hoping I can get away with just a few HP as sacrifice.)
The art is pretty well done. The hacking animation is the my favorite of the lot. Also, it'd be cool if you made the sneaking animation more distinct than the the normal walk animation.
Neat concept! The pixel graphics and audio went very well with it. Got stuck on the fan part, but figured it out thanks to superunicorn's comment, haha. The most difficult thing, I think, was being unable to aim up combined with the tiny size of the target on one of the horizontal platforms - it was super hard to hit it while moving and took a lot of retries. Maybe a larger bullet or target size would help there. Great entry overall.
The art and the mood is really intruiging and well done. But I have no clue whatsoever as to what I should type in for the game to proceed. I think the game would have run better if there were choices instead.
Pretty short, but super fun nonetheless! Why was the bossman chilling in abandoned market lol. I'd have liked it even more if the boss had some special attribute other than being a larger version of his minions.
Great entry, I really liked the gameboy type aesthetic(although you used even lesser colors) and minimalistic graphics. The rhythm shooting felt slightly disconnected from the main platforming, though it did make the game challenging. I couldn't get past the 2nd boss, haha. It would've been nice if there was an indicator to show his HP, I had no idea how close I got to killing him, or if I was even doing any damage. The theme, I think might be a bit too loosely implemented.
Hey! This game has potential to be better. There are a few things taking away from the fun: - The player character must be smaller. I'm not sure how I'm supposed to dodge the bullets when there's hardly space for the big lunky sprite to move about.
- You need to have feedback for impact. Either make the enemies flash, or have an impact sprite for your bullets.
- Adjust the pacing/diffculty. The second wave bumped up the difficulty too much for me to handle!
Cheers!
I absolutely love the retro feel of the game - ol' skool graphics, audio and the screen transitions! Played this for a long time, and had a lot of fun exploring. Hard to believe it's a compo game, you've put in so much content. I'm hoping we'll see this somewhere near the top in the results. Terrific job.
Hey dude, just a suggestion to get more plays - don't extract as an installer. There's a dropdown box, select the ZIP! Also, some stuff screw up in the HTML5 version and will crash - debug to find out what's causing them! (I found out this time apparently you can't access another object's enum unless you type the integer value, for the HTML5 version lol).
On topic of the game - I can see you put in the effort, and the graphics are very interesting (in a good way), but the game itself feels too slow to be fun - it ended up feeling like a slower pong in a way. Good effort though!
I like the humor in this! Its a pretty simple quick time event game. That said, the choice of music is horrible.
I can't play this game coz I'm alone ._. But I lover the retro feel to the background. Reminds me of the old Zelda games on the gameboy. Great job!
I felt like I wanted more control over the player and less sliding, since that made it pretty hard to dodge or aim - as a result of which I kept getting ganged upon pretty quick. I would probably do away with the movement cost too. Good stuff otherwise, fits well with the theme!
It's really, really fun to play, the movement and tight controls - especially the shooting - it's so satisfying. Brilliant job with the graphics, background especially, gives a great atmosphere to the game along with the soundtrack. Level design could've been better, with enemies spawning on the top part and all, but it's good enough for the jam.
Hey! I love the art, it reminds me of ze old Megaman Battle Network games! That said, I wasn't sure what to do after brainstorming. I tried interacting with everything, and ended up drinking a lot of coffee lol
I'd love to play the game more. Sadly I have no clue what to do
The game leaves too many questions unanswered. The dialogues are fun, but I'd have imagined to have some sort of choice so that we could get different endings.
The thermal sensor didn't quite work for me. I get what you were going for though. Would have liked faster movement speed too. But as an idea, it is super cool. The effects are nice too! It's just as an implementation, there could have been less rough edges in terms of how intuitive the elements are.
The narrator voice and the background rain fits in so insanely well with the overall cyberpunk theme. Really love the pixel graphics too, but there needs to be more contrast to differentiate between the character and background. The narrative gets messed up sometimes if you proceed without waiting for the current event to get over, in which case audio overlaps.
The overall atmosphere is really cool.
I love the style that the game has: the main guy in the centre, the veggies. But I'm not sure how to get those food items for him.
This is incredible - can't believe this was made in 48 hours! Simply beautiful - apart from the story I'm surprised you got so many puzzles in! (Also, I appreciate the skip button particularly near the end.)
Loved this! Slow at the beginning, but pretty unique and great use of theme! Takes a while to get used to.
Becomes pretty hard later on (heh, matches with the theme - so props) specifically because some of the colors become indistinguishable. I enjoyed it otherwise. Good entry!
LOL that was funny, and a super unique idea. I loved the death animation - added a certain charm. Needs polishing of course, but the ground idea is solid, good work! :)
This is the first 5/5 game from me - absolutely love it! This is a brilliant idea, and completely fits the theme: it's a nightmare later on!
@pecolyte : I haven't encountered pipes failing to link, but in case you meant "revert" as in undoing/deleting things from grid, you can do that by right clicking. :)
@elzach: Thank you! The square one is probably the hardest level in the game - there's basically no proper difficulty curve - didn't have time (hence made all levels are available from the beginning hahah).
Thanks guys! Appreciate it!
@steve-johnson There's a lot of (original) music in there! Were you playing the web version? Maybe it just didn't load?
@kleinzach: Part of that is having symmetric designs (which we didn't have here), and how the levels were made. Essentially when we're on a time constrain, we make levels by reverse engineering from a solution (aka we lay down a path, see what it produces, remove the path). That doesn't make for the smartest levels, and usually things like these can be brute forced. So yeah, makes sense. Thanks for playing!
@saintheiser: It is Spacechem-inspired, yes. :)
That got too chaotic too fast, hahah. Also probably because I was terrible at it. Neat idea though - has a lot of potential.
Apart from the keyboard issues - this was the first game that actually made me chuckle - so props for that! Good stuff, and cheers!
This is a nice little puzzle game, and it sure feels nice to see more puzzle games around! :) One complaint I have here is the music loop though - since i'm stuck in the same puzzle for a while - it gets pretty repetative. A longer loop would have been nice. Overall, solid entry though.
That was oddly charming! Can you actually lose friends though?
This is so funny for some reason - watching all these cars tumble around. You probably know the laps and placement is broken (I went from 1/X to 22/X on crossing a lap line) but yeah - serious racing isn't the point of the game hahah. Good work!
That was simple but effective. A tiny nitpick would be once the enemies are close to you and stick - they drain your health almost instantly by repeatedly colliding. But good stuff overall!
This is very nice and a neat idea! I do wish the knives sped up faster because initially it feels like a long time without any challenge, but that's just minor issues. Good stuff!
That squashing noise though, hahah! Love the art style and audio, and the fact that I saved Private Ryan - even if it's by randomly mashing Space. Good stuff.
This is a neat idea, I liked how you'd need less bullets for more maneuverability - interesting use of theme! Won't complain much seeing as the time constraints this was made under - but for that period, great stuff!
This is super neat! The idea and theme matches so well - I just wish the actual platforming was less "floaty" to match it. I had a pretty hard time running and jumping (probably because collision checking saying I'm in air when I'm not). There's another suggestion: The camera moves whenever I move the character, which makes for a lot of camera movement. I'd tone that down to move after a certain distance. Besides this though, it stands on its ideas, and great work there!
The origin of the character seems to not be in the middle, so when you flip, you don't flip in the middle. Other than that - the same thing happened to me - got stuck in a hole and couldn't move. Artwork is cool though!
The truck rotation feels a bit jarring (like it snaps continuously?) but otherwise feels pretty smooth! The UI placement was smart too. Enjoyable game overall - good work!
Those dragons growing up with feeding was fantastic, and it was a very neat idea! The art is pretty awesome too, while the sound does its job. Great entry overall!
This is cute and charming! Also, nice use of theme! My main gripe would be the controls (yeah, I know it said controller recommended, but I'm gonna say it anyway) - it took me a lot to get used to direction key = immediate direction switching for the character. It feels like it would've been much better to have the simpler "up to move straight and left/right to rotate" as the control scheme! But overall, good stuff!
This is one of those 5 stars across the board entries for me. I lol'd so much - absolutely amazing work in 48 hours!
That was a pretty amazing puzzler! Loved the idea - always nice to see cool puzzle games here.
Really liked the take on the theme and twist on Snake! There were some floor blocks which looked like obstacles - they stuck out and didn't blend in the bg. Puzzles were otehrwise well thought out, well done!
I really liked the visual effects! It was too disorienting for me while moving however to play properly lol. Good use of theme - it really became claustrophobic at the end!
Damn you made this in 48 hours? Color me impressed - that is a huge amount of content and polish! Loved it!
I thought the sides close down a bit too quickly. There were times I never got any possible matching block for one side and it just kept shrinking, and I had to expand it with mismatching blocks. Also, when 2 blocks match - the game gets stuck for me for about 2 seconds (in HTML5).
Other than the complaints, very neat idea and take on the theme. As far as Tetris-inspired games go, this is my favorite so far.
Very pretty! I liked it!
Polish is on point as usual! My only gripe was since realistically - the game plays exactly the same later as how it starts out, except you just need to do the exact thing faster - it gets a bit dry (sorry couldn't resist :p ) after a while. The rest of the game got me playing till the end, so props for that!
Thanks for the kind words guys! :)
@triplefox Well, going from point X to point Y is a lot of puzzle games - that's the end goal, not the mechanic. As far as I know, there's no genre for an end goal. Sokoban's core mechanic is block pushing. This game's core mechanic is leaving blocks wherever you go - and unless I'm out of the loop - there's no genre for that. The idea was inspired from Snakes. If you really want to classify this kind, it'd be a kind of [transport puzzle](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Transport_puzzle).
@benjamin-l I noticed that in a stream too - I guess something to do with the timing. I'll have to look into it - wasn't a problem in the desktop build. Thanks for bringing it up.
Thanks for playing everyone!
@alexfalkenberg Yep, thanks for reporting that. It should be fixed in the current version.
@stevenjmiller It apparently had to do with delta timing which I was using for tweening. It should be working now... I think. I can't replicate it. I added the move_snap as an additional check as well. Thanks for the tip!
Thanks for all the feedback, guys!
@ddrkirbyisq I wrote a post about making puzzles too! https://ldjam.com/events/ludum-dare/42/mindblocked/designing-and-pacing-puzzles-for-jams-some-thoughts-from-experience I think it helps so much when you design puzzles in reverse - starting with a solution then backtracking and changing it on the way.
I'm absolutely terrible at the game (or maybe I'm playing it wrong by trying to move very slowly?), but otherwise it's very well made! Props!
My feelings about the game went from "Uhh do I just smash these buttons" to "Ouuuuhhhhh I gotta plan this" lol. It's very fun, and I enjoyed it! Props!
I laughed way too much to those dancing penguins and tumbling bears.
This is the first game that had me laughing too much to actually be able to play properly so I don't know whether that's a good or a bad thing. x'D (Good take on the theme too, hahah.)
Very solid core mechanic - which works out well for it. On the easy side - but that's understandable. Good stuff!
So, literally running out of space? Nice. I'm surprised by the scope of teh game for a jam - and the graphics probably took a while! Naturally with such scope the game doesn't have the first-time user experience properly, which it needs (as in, it was a bit confusing to understand initially) - but good stuff overall!
Hahah, we thought about making a warehouse crate stacking game before we made whatever we did - this reminded me of that. Otherwise it's pretty well polished and fairly fun - well done!
I felt like some soothing music would've done wonders for the mood/atmosphere. It already looked very nice! Good work on the procedural generation. The UI needed some touch up, but it's understandable. Good stuff!
Fun game. I thought it needed some proper difficulty curve though - like the first level should just be drag and shoot and target is in front -> Second level should be one you utilize the idea that the platform breaks and so on. But pretty neat idea otherwise. Good job.
Oh showing flashing blocks to a group of sleep-deprived LD devs isn't the best idea. :P Needed some balancing - but good effort for your first try though, keep at it!
Pretty short! I'd have liked the actual jumping to "feel" smoother, because that's the main part of the game - it feels like you get stuck around corners. But otherwise, cool concept and execution! I liked it!
Very well polished game - it took a while to understand, but unique idea in the end. One annoyance I had were those text pop up things - they kind of tend to ruin immersion in-game. I understand that you guys didn't have time, but just a thought. Good work!
This is very cool! I got an impossible terrain just once but otherwise it went so well - and there is so much content for such a short time! I'm going back to play this later, great job!
(One minor thing - preferably just have a zip file and not an installer!)
Snake where you trap and kill? Very cool idea!
This is so random and funny - I love it! Voices were funny, art was great for 48 hours, made me chuckle a lot. Good stuff!
I would've liked some more content in it, but understandably it's a jam game. The simple aesthetic worked for the game, and it was pretty neat otherwise. Good job!
@alphish That you Alice? Heh, yeah been a while since I've posted in GMC. There is a "wall" here, but that kind of depends on luck and some strategy too - like if you manage to build a bunch of shooty ships in front vertically, that wall comes a lot later.
Thanks for playing! :D
Loved it! Didn't realize the 1-5 controls the first time round, but once you get it it's really fun! The artwork is amazing too, as an icing on the cake! :) Lost two very close matches against the AI before getting a win, so that was satisfying. :)
I wasn't a fan of the precision dashing particularly in the later levels, but otherwise it's a really neat entry. Good job!
Is that Jojo meets Kung Fury? :')
Great job on the intro - oozing with style. I'm only going to rate the game on parts I could test, because well... it's hard to play against yourself.
Everything else is really polished! Good stuff!
This is FANTASTIC! Loved the puzzle and RNG aspects of it at the same time, and it's incredibly polished in every department. I just wished I got some more of those Consume cards because I kept getting Shields forever, but that's just RNGesus. Great stuff!
I didn't get the relation with the theme, but it was fun! You may have been influenced by the Untitled Goose Game more than the theme. :P
I'd also like to see my score AFTER I die, btw. Good stuff, otherwise!
This is cute! Loved the polish - art and music both. I had a hard time with the controls at first however, I expected W to move forwards and S backwards - wasn't expecting it to move in their literal directions. Unconventional, so took a little while to get used to. But otherwise, great job!
Oof, that was really well polished. I appreciate a platformer with great controls - it's pretty hard to do in a jam, so big props for that. Everything felt very smooth - and I liked all the added bit of dialogue adding to the humor (sp. the clouds crying and saying stuff every time you jumped on them in that one level). Some parts became a bit frustrating, and everyone has already talked about it so you're aware. Great stuff!
This was really fun and polished! The presentation was fantastic, and it's hard not to love the game just for that. I loved the spinning movement, took a bit to get used to - but it works. Good stuff!
As usual - fantastic presentation with art/audio - and really cool take on the theme. I had to unfortunately stop after that Raven scared the bejesus out of me for the umpteenth time.
Thanks for all the comments fellas!
@hoolop @kuro @sayuri The original plan was to have an upgrade station (to upgrade slots/generation rate etc.) and a turret station. Expectedly that was too much for the scope and we concentrated on the core bit instead.
@keyurrana Understandable - there's a lot to learn. The tutorial doesn't progress until you do the specified actions though so you should have time to screw around with other actions you learned to test them out. But yeah, like always, it could have been made much better with time. :)
@reallyqbert Yeah, could always be more balanced. Did you have all the generator buildings turned on? I find that helps in the later levels to always have 5 drones + 4 as backup.
I had such a good time - who knew button mashing could make me a musician? (I may be slightly overstating how good it sounded.) Really well made entry!
Heh we had an idea very similar to this originally - and this is very well executed! I loved the puzzles! Game could've benefited from some music and removing that "AAAAA" audio from the green frog, but it's a really well made game otherwise.
This was great! Hard to wrap your head around initially, but once you get the concept of what's looping (I initially thought the boxes were moving on my command) - it was a blast. The mood was great too - good stuff!
Turns out I'm a pretty good driver! The voices were on point! I had fun, good job!
This was incredibly fun! My only gripe and what I felt made it harder was having both LMB and RMB for switching when it could've been one mouse button for intra-orbital switching and the otehr for inter-orbital switching. A lot of my losses felt was because of my brain mixing it up for that. In any case - I had a lot of fun with this, good job!
This is among the prettiest games I've seen this jam - super well presented with audio/gfx, and very fun to play too - no complications, straight up mayhem! Love it!
Simple, clean game. While I enjoyed it - I feel a lot of it depended on luck on where the fuel is getting placed and completely out of your hand (specifically since you start on such low fuel). Some levels I got 3 fuel tanks in a row and woosh - it was a piece of cake, some other time - it's on the otehr side, really far away and well, there's nothing you can do.
Apart from that - game is really well polished, gfx/audio is spot on. Great stuff!
This is really fun! It's more akin to a maze game with time constraints, but it was pretty unique in its own way and I liked solving these! Good job!
I wish the engine faced up/down though. :')
That's great stuff for 16 hours! Apart from some intensity/ambient lighting - I think a skybox would've really made it shine more. Good job!
Good attempt! I had 2 pieces of luggage swinging around but everyone left so I was a bit confused on what next? I liked the idea though!
Really well polished game! Just a minor annoyance - I feel for games like this it's always better to have a hold left click for constant shooting instead of having to spam the button. But otherwise it was fun!
There is a lot of very smooth and nice feedback in there, and I like the little details like your projectile setting things on fire. Those leg movements were hilarious sometimes. A big gripe would be how things came fast from out of screen wit no indication, sometimes made it hard to dodge. Good stuff overall!
I feel a game idea like this would've been much better served in either 2D or with a different (isometric?) camera angle - it was really hard to get that overall view to keep track of the loops. The idea is great though, and the atmosphere with VO was spot on! Good job!
This is probably the most well polished game I've seen so far. Feels and looks fantastic, and gameplay is smooth - easy to get into. Loved it!
Short and simple! I like it! Some more variety would have been great but you're going at it solo, so you were probably outta time. It's really well polished to that end. Good job!
Can you add a playable link to this?
Lol this was hilarious - the writing was great! Artwork matched it, and like others havementioned - I found the actual battle parts a bit lacking (but that's understandable). Good stuff!
I don't even... This is gold!
@brent: You're not forced to lose without a weapon! A round ends if the timer counts down to zero - so if you don't have a weapon equipped, just survive for the length of the timer, and you'll go to next round (with a new card draw). :) We thought it'd add some depth so players can now decide between which bosses to fight and which bosses to survive (eg. if they don't have a card you want). And def checking your game out. :)
@radow: Yeah, I'll do some balancing passes in a post-jam version. It's not the most balanced right now!
@david-greene: Any card you play gets shuffled back in next round so the deck should never run out of cards, unless there's a bug. :S Did you get to those rounds and not draw a card in the beginning of the round?
That music was HYPE! Very fun stuff - impressive that you pulled off that AI within the timeframe! Great work!
Really cool and unique! The fast pace didn't really leave much thought for which card to play where - I just kept on typing (and it seemed to work for a bit).
Also very impressed with how you guys pulled it off with so many people LOL. Good stuff!
This is amazing! I'd have preferred the WASD keys to be for block moving - since then I could move both at the same time, but that's nitpicking. The idea and execution otherwise is great - good work!
This is pretty great, even if understandably terrible from a balance viewpoint (you're excused, it was a jam) - but I really liked the idea!
One thing that would've really helped here is showing (with tiles otherwise) exactly how far you move with a walk card when you use it. I had to guess a lot and sometimes he would fall off. But otherwise - very solid and well executed. It felt like those programming games like Human Resource Machine! Good stuff!
Loved how expressive the animations are (even how the door opened hahah). Also reminded me of a game I made a few LDs ago, so there's that - but really good stuff overall. I didn't hear any audio (and you turned teh category off, so I assume tehre wasn't any) - but that would've added a lot to the "expressiveness" of the game too. Great job!
This is pretty awesome. I really like the genre mashup here, and it works well. The main thing holding it down though are the controls - what should've been a mostly mouse-controleld game with visual cues is keyboard-controlled (understandable perhaps, that you didn't have time and keyboard-control takes less time to implement than adding UI for all of that). But props for the effort - I enjoyed it.
Very impressive, never thought you could make bullet hell turn-based! Props on the polish too - I spent quite a lot of time on this.
There's a lot of CLI-based games this time around surprisingly - and this is the best one I've played till now. :) The core of the game is solid, and the gameplay variety manages to build off that. Good stuff.
This is pretty amazing. I don't know why there are people saying they're not incompatible genre - breakout and tetris is about as incompatible you can get. I'd argue it's too incompatible to the point it becomes counter-productive for its own good (since the goals of the two games are basically the opposite - arranging the bricks and breaking the bricks). But you pulled it off very well - props.
This was super cute! One thing I was honestly very surprised at was the voice acting actually worked (not usually the case with voice acting in jam games, hahah. It's overall very well polished, the genre mesh pretty well (even if at one point I wanted them to line up somehow to give that match-3 feel). Great entry, overall!
That is a lot of things in there for the time period. It would really be nice though if you had a generic tempo playing in the bg and the beats would augment that. Also, perhaps 3 tiles would've been ideal instead of 4?Since I can only comfortably place 3 fingers (on QWE or WER) subconsciously. But I'm sure you've done testing to use 4 so yeah. Nevertheless, very unique!
This is pretty cool, and yeah - it is very different from my card-based shooter! I would've liked it if the timer were longer, and instead of having to press 1/2/3 (it's a bit awkward to press compared with the rest of the controls) - you clicked the card. The fast timer broke teh flow a bit for me. But otherwise, great idea, smooth presentation, good work overall!
This is pretty good, the controls are weird and you can do a lot by smashing just X. But the feel, music and atmosphere is very nice. I LOL'd at the Disaster_Data folder, hahah. Good job.
There's a lot of ahem... depth... in the game. I liked it - ambience is great, idea is neat (and the controls are weird but it suits).
Neat idea - even if the flashing is a bit too much, hahah. A music with the beats would have been even better! But, pretty unique entry overall. Good work.
Pretty interesting - I thought it would've worked even better if it was more of an infinite thing than getting a mission report at the end. Some actual funny animations to people dying would do wonders with that background music too! Good job overall.
Damn that was good - even if you mentioned in your comment that it was your first time making a bullet hell (yeah, base spawner class next time ;) ). Loved how you added the rhythm to this, and it actually flowed with the rhythm - so props. Great entry!
First, the cons: The "dating sim" part seemed tacked on and not particularly integrated with the rest of the game. Also, without any variety (not environmental, just gameplay-wise) - the game does get repetative after a while. Having said that, the presentation is incredible - and the best I've seen so far in the LD! The switching mechanic works very well with the whole idea. Overall, great work! Put me in a zen mood.
This is pretty nice with the caveat - as others pointed out - the jumping. It feels off specifically complemented with the other controls. If you get time, different weapons and powerups would be nice too! :) Good stuff.
I didn't like the waiting for encounter parts (even with the SFX telling you that it's coming) - because it's taking agency away from the player. But otherwise, nice mood, good use of sounds - well done.
Presentation is really nice. It's a bit confusing at the beginning to try and understand how the controls work (you mention what each button does, not what to do with them). But after figuring it out, went smoothly. Good stuff!
