Great idea!! Had a lot of fun with this!

paulstraw 2017-05-01 06:48

The sound effects when people and animals get blown off-planet are hilarious. Really enjoyed this.

wtoa 2017-05-01 06:51

Fantastic game! You don't understand the joy I felt as I flung the cows to space!

szczebel1995 2017-05-01 06:55

Great game! audio and graphic are on point. I was really surprised after first time seeing that my beloved people are flying to the stars :D, had a lot of fun playing.

christian-koch 2017-05-01 06:59

I really like the idea of not having direct impact on something. Using the meteors by rotationg the planet is a pretty good idea. I dont think I could play this for too long, but the time I played it it was fun.

lars-dk 2017-05-01 07:06

I played the WebGL version.

Amazing submission! Took a while to load but boy was it worth it! Graphics were breathtaking - I really liked little touches like the water and lighting. Would be cool if weather/impacts affected the world (as opposed to just people) but I still rated the graphics 5/5 for this. Models were really good and well animated. UI was awesome. Music suited the game well also in terms of capturing the mood, but felt very repetitive. Sound effects were pretty much spot on, so no major complaints there. The game seemed well coded and I didn't spot serious bugs, except I'm not sure it was intentional for the models to walk on water and totally ignore bridges.

There's one mechanic in this game. That could be fine, and I haven't seen it implemented quite like this before, but it made the gameplay a little dull after a while. More so than playing the game I actually spent a lot of time just exploring this beautiful world you guys have made! When I did lose people, it was generally because they were on the other side of the planet where I couldn't see them, making it nearly impossible to aim those clouds etc away from the people. I'm not sure how this would be fixed but it made me feel a little powerless as a god, ironically. I wish more of the focus was on developing challenges as a player. It limited the fun factor significantly.

The theme was well-established so that was good. Overall I completely enjoyed reviewing this and congratulate all of you on your work. :)

thomsonteguh 2017-05-01 07:06

Awesome game! Really love the chill music playing in the background, and the graphics were amazing too! I especially love how seamless the transition from the title screen to the game played out. I know this is cruel but, for some reason I love seeing those tiny creatures flew into space XD. Really well polished game!

fangzhangmnm 2017-05-01 07:08

The game is very simplistic, but rather fun! Monitoring the whole planet is rather tough so I never get >=5 pop in my game. But it is fun to hit the bears

wheerd 2017-05-01 07:20

The idea is really cool! I also like the music and sound effects. The controls take a bit of getting used to, but then it is fun to snipe bears with meteors or lightning. Well done, a very fun entry

mgoadric 2017-05-01 07:44

Excellent graphics, the game looks wonderful! I wasn't sure why I was gaining on losing points. I eventually tried to get my people hit with lightening or meteors to see if I would lose points, and I did! I never saw the bears other people talked about. I only found out about the moving of the viewpoint with right click through experimentation, I missed it in the intro portion; I saw the left click icon, clicked, and by then the right one was gone too, saw it the second time through. Was delighted to see the people fall off the world when struck. Also, I wasn't sure why the game ended, I still had a population on the planet. Was it because of time? Very fun game, thanks for making this!

jackyjjc 2017-05-01 07:48

The 3D models are very well done, the music is relaxing and fits the mood very well. The UI tool tips are helpful but subtle, doesn't feel intrusive. The gameplay itself is fun at first but gets a little boring after a while. Initially I thought I had to control the weather to help the population grow but it doesn't seem like growing at all. Later i find that all i can do is to protect them. However, the game got quite hard because things are happening at the other end of the planet and I did not know that people were getting attack by bear and meteor appears too quickly for me to react sometimes. A notification system will greatly improve this I think.

Overall it is a nice little game, well done!

hadik 2017-05-01 13:13

I love that game :) Is so polish and nice :) Great entry

davidthelazar 2017-05-01 19:42

Very neat idea, I've never played a game quite like this. It was a little difficult dealing with issues that cropped up on the other side of the planet, but that was probably me not getting the hang of the right-click controls on my trackpad.

Great job!

martenscedric 2017-05-02 04:45

Neat game! The music is so happy while the towns are getting destroyed haha! Good submission!

balthazaar 2017-05-02 04:55

Really enjoyed the game! Amazing graphics for 72 hours.

impbox 2017-05-02 04:56

Lovely artwork and vibe, looks very polished, the music was nice although a bit repetitive. Reminds me of Black&White a little. The main gameplay mechanic wasn't very fun unfortunately, it's difficult to see what's going on and moving things around doesn't feel very natural.

rubyleehs 2017-05-02 04:58

Very Nice Game! Nice art, sound effects and UI!

Wished there was an easier was to rotate the planet clockwise/anticlockwise without shifting the whole planet.

Also, it be cool if we could control the moon to know out asteroids.

joyfired 2017-05-02 05:01

Really nice game, and the graphics blew me out of the water. The music really adds to the atmosphere and I really like the concept, though I really wish there was more content, some more options for me to feel like a god :smiling_imp:. As mentioned by @jackyjjc some notification would be nice, and also as mentioned the game gets boring after a while, hence my craving for more content, perhaps even more worlds to have to control at once.

That being said, I understand it's a short amount of time, and nonetheless the quality of the game is superb.

rasabi 2017-05-02 05:02

Really great! I personally found it very intuitive. It was challenging trying to lightning strike down a bear when it was on the other side of the planet haha!

tanay 2017-05-02 05:03

I liked the idea. The graphics are great. However, after some time, our job becomes overloaded and then game play gets a bit boring. Just a bit, though. I think you can address that.

jasperarmstrong 2017-05-02 05:06

Very cool little game. The graphics and the music were both great. It would be nice if there was more to do though.

moski 2017-05-02 05:08

When you say "In Good Hands", you were certainly now thinking about the clumsy all mighty planet-rotator I'd be. The poor people never stood a chance. But I had my amusement, and so I don't really mind :)

First of all, congratulations on making such a great looking game. The presentation is just perfect, and the seemless transition was a treat for the eyes.

Gameplay wise, having a rotation button and a camera button started off as a weird idea, but once I started taking the graps of it, the game turned into an interactive toy. And I like interactive toys! Keeping the little guys alive was a challenge, but seeing them fly off the surface of the planet when hit by a meteorite? I couldn't help myself but to grin as a madman.

The graphics work great. As I said, the starting screen was a wonder. The rest is well done designs, given the time and such. Everything looks great for this project, although I must point out that, other than the moving logo, there's not much there that's memorable or that leaves a lasting impression. It's not bad, but I just think that there could have been some visual pop or prop or something that could help people remember this long after this jam is over.

The music works just fine. There's something deviously fun on the calm tunes juxtaposed with the thunderstorms, bears and people flying off the globe. Neat!

Not much else to say. It's certainly an unique experience. In the future, this project could really benefit from some extra additions like, I dunno, a sandbox mode or more disasters. I still love the simplicity on the gameplay, so adding more to it could probably just overcomplicate it.

All in all, it's one great jam game. I hope that you find some good use for the good ol' feedback. I followed y'all on Twitter since I'd like to see what you can come up with next. Great work once again, and have a nice day! :whale:

appix 2017-05-02 05:14

Great game! Graphics and music make me feel comfortable~ Creators create a small and peaceful world in this small game. And make player want to protect this world:)

kantieno 2017-05-02 05:31

I enjoyed my time with this, didn't even notice something had happened to my people until I noticed they were flying away. Could make a pretty interesting game if it were expanded and had more settlement building!

bookworm31 2017-05-02 05:33

This is a neat little game. I really enjoyed the graphics; seeing all tiny people and animal running around on the planet was cool. As was mentioned somewhere above, it was interesting when the dangers were on the far side of the planet; perhaps something bound to one of the other keys could have rotated the perspective? Also, the way you did the starting screen was cool. It took me a second to figure it out, but it ensures that the player understands the controls from the get go.

anciententity 2017-05-02 05:34

Kind of wish if i spinned the planet fast enough they would all fly off or maybe the houses would and they would need to rebuild. Great concept! just wish there was more... Maybe expand on this.

marc-grabow 2017-05-02 05:48

Nice game, love the art stlye and the screaming :) Have to admit I tried to kill everyone at first but then everyone got eaten by bears with antlers (?) anyway, made me laugh. Well, I'm a bad person I guess.

Fantastic job in that short timeframe!

2017-05-02 05:57

That was a fun little idea to play around with. Would have loved to see some more interactions though.

itzhak-w 2017-05-02 06:03

Spot on. Great work. Loved the idea and the atmosphere.

silas-reinagel 2017-05-02 06:28

The game is very pretty, and the music makes it feel very relaxing. However, I would have enjoyed it substantially more if there was more gameplay of substance. There isn't a lot to do.

cosmic-adventure-squad 2017-05-02 06:42

Nice graphics and cute sounds! It was hard keeping track of everything at once and predicting where meteors would hit sometimes, especially when they came from the bottom of the screen. I got a population of about 11 people before the bears started eating everyone.

kristian-david 2017-05-02 08:35

Great job for this game. As you said it is kinda similar to my game yet so different. I am able to the similarities and the differences. This game has simple controls yet hard to master. The graphics of this game is so pretty and neat and the audio is also good. I wish you luck with this game.

nice game for relaxing =)

flipsy 2017-05-04 07:12

Wonderful looking game, very nicely done. A bit tricky to keep track of what's going on and manage the camera but I don't now how you'd solve that really. A well thought out control scheme and mechanic but just a bit fiddly in practice for me personally. Lots of lovely little touches and details. A very clever concept and mechanic implemented superbly. Well done.

ethereal-psyche-games 2017-05-04 07:24

Lovely art and relaxing music!

Game has a lot of details on the plant (it was difficult to me to save people insted of stay lookinf what's going on on the surface xDDD).

The core mechanic is fun but is a bit difficult to me to keep track of what is killing people on the planet.

Anyway, it's a really nice jam entry. Great work!

raphael 2017-05-04 07:37

Really nice, I sometimes had troubles seeing everything that's going on but I guess that is part of the challenge.

diptoman 2017-05-04 08:01

This is very cool! The graphics are great, the controls are tight, gameplay is pretty neat too! My only gripe was that I could not keep track of what was happening everywhere because of the view, and I lost people because they were on the other side and it gave no notification. But then again, it's a lotta content for 72 hours, so kudos!

maakep 2017-05-04 08:34

This is a really cool idea and the game is graphically amazing. It's a cute little game that's perfect for ludum dare, quick to get in to and enjoyable to play around in.

Well done. To give some feedback, this is personal preference, I didn't have that much fun playing it. I didn't stay for a very long while and I probably won't start it again - how that could be changed is probably adding more features because right now it's like watching fish in a fish tank-level fun, but very very well done and a great idea! Overall I'm impressed and it looks like you have a good foundation if you'd like to continue expanding on it!

2017-05-04 08:45

Well done, love the vibe and style. This can become a great product to sell with improvements :) Cheers

jorbits 2017-05-04 10:05

Nice little game. The controlls are easy and the game is easy to understand. I would've loved, if there are more humans spawning.

itssaraficed 2017-05-04 10:06

Cool game, Nice graphics found it hard to keep track of what where was since you could only partially see things.

arcticmattekar 2017-05-04 10:38

This is a nice idea. I really like the graphics and the relaxing music (even if a asteroid just crushed my city ^^). The controls work really well. Nice job!

athomicus 2017-05-04 11:15

so nice - great idea - gratulation , also good music Good Job

nuclearfriend 2017-05-04 11:43

Really novel little idea, it worked really well once I figured it out! Well done!

adamalexander 2017-05-04 12:16

I wonder how those little guys get any sleep, the day/night cycles are crazy. It's a fun unique game and has excellent visuals and audio. It feels like a very high quality experience for such a short dev time. It got a little repetitive towards the end, I was starting to hope my little guys would just die already, maybe I was just really good at it though ;)

holgk 2017-05-04 12:40

Very nice and simple simulation game. Very good graphics and sound! They are createing a very nice atmosphere. Good job!

brandann 2017-05-04 14:01

great little game. good unique idea. I could not for the life of me deal with that stupid bear!

d-studios 2017-05-05 05:39

Awesome game! Though I was a little bit confused on what to do at the beginning of the game, I found out and had a blast! Please note: I saw a minor glitch in where a bear was moving jerkily and moving back and forth and shaking. However, the glitch was extremely minor.

I deeply like the graphics, music, and the overall mood of this game. The music, however did not repeat smoothly though (it sounded very slightly awkward when the soundtrack was being replayed again. Also, the music didn't have many variations or different themes). This is indeed a great game! Hopefully, you will expand it in the future!

zach-bracken 2017-05-05 05:48

This game is adorable. Love the feel good vibes given off lol

doppelgunner 2017-05-05 06:24

5/5 all. Great game. But, please smoothen the rotation. Look at Kenney's game both of you have very similar gameplays. His are much smoother, though I 5/5 both of you in all ratings cause I like games like these which makes me feel relaxed. Here is Kenney's game play it: https://ldjam.com/events/ludum-dare/38/techium-eclipse

siryakko 2017-05-05 06:30

Really great game and nice realization. The fact that the game got Beer in it, is a real plus imho. :D

fanatrick 2017-05-05 09:22

I found it very tricky to rotate, other than that it was flawless :D

cayleblucas 2017-05-05 10:05

I was abit confused on what i had to do at the beginning however i had loads of fun when i figured it out. Great game

dejvo 2017-05-05 14:36

This is a really unique idea with good execution. Although, I had trouble controlling the planet to the desired location because i did see only one half of it. maybe make it so all event happen in front of the camera?

But yeah, overall, good idea, really nice game and chill gameplay. I liked it!

orquigames 2017-05-05 20:39

Very good game, interesting mechanics

sun-wukong 2017-05-09 11:07

Visuals looks very nice and polished, good job on that.

At start I didn't quite understood what to do but soon got it. My harsh opinion - making it full-3D gameplay wise was a bad decision. It maybe makes it little more "cool", but besides that it have only demerits. Game becomes insanely hard very soon. You never know entire situation of your planet. Trying to track bear with cloud - and in the same time two meteors wipe out half of your population on the other side of the planet, and you never know about it. Besides field of view is pretty small and it's hard to track meteors at all.

I've played another game(sorry don't remember title) from this jam with the pretty much the same idea and mechanics, but it's gameplay was in 2D, and it was much, much easier to control, though game itself was pretty difficult too.

Also I encountered a bug: when I tried to land a meteor in the lake, it didn't go in, but just hovered over it until I rotated planet and then it landed on coast :(

seconddimension 2017-05-20 11:45

I really like god games in general, although I agree that the 3D made it tough to know what was going on (although maybe that was the intention). It was a charming little game though, visuals and mood were spot on
