A nice idea for a game, however I feel that the player had not enough control over the balloon. I liked the sound effects, but the game needed more to it (obstacles, control, win/lose screens etc.)
Interesting art style! I got stuck in the opening scene with the dirty river though. I couldn't find anything to click on.
Really great fun! Once I got the hang of it it didn't take long for my ship to become a big floppy mess. I didn't know which way was forward, but with so many cannons it didn't matter :).
I like the graphics, outlay and general theme of this game, however the game itself doesn't have too many new ideas. Good job.
Nice artwork! The controls are really difficult though. The character moves waaaayy too fast, especially when jumping.
I can't figure out any controls for the ship. Been trying the mouse keys, wasd keys, arrow keys but nothing seems to move the ship. I downloaded the windows full version.
I like the graphics. The controls are really tricky to get used to though!
The art style is awesome!
Nice game, hard to get your head around initially.
Killer soundtrack! Really psyches you up for planting trees, but I couldn't figure out how though..
It looks cool but it's so hard! I keep dieing trying to line up with the single space gaps.
The game looks great, and it's fun being able to build up your island. Couldn't entirely figure out how the mountains affected the pirates, sometimes they would just walk over the tops of them. Also I didn't know what to do with all my life energy, I guess this is for future content? Overall it looks like the makings of a great game!
I liked the look of this game, however it was quite difficult to win and I feel overall the concept was a little too simple.
This game was pretty fun, but I couldn't help but feel dizzy after not too long.
Looks great! Same issue with the lasers
I like the art style, especially the effect for the trees growing. Took me awhile to figure out seeds could only be planted in certain places. I put a bunch of them under the sand. After I planted some trees I wasn't sure what to do next.
Love the sound effects!
Fun game, interesting use of 2 button controls. Took me awhile to realise the rocks were blocking me.
This was a fun game. It was a little confusing and I struggled to get some good farts off, but the general concept was good. Well done.
Nice job I really enjoyed the visuals and audio in this game. It's really satisfying when the audio changes as you click on new items and really immerses you in the gameplay. The art style reminded me a lot of the Kurzgesagt videos on youtube which I'm a big fan of.
The game did a good job of explaining how I'm meant to play, but I still got a feeling that I was randomly clicking on things. It was a bit frustrating which detracted from the audio/visual experience, only a bit though. Overall it's excellent.
Nice one on making such a complete game with cool graphics and an epic soundtrack. Really the music added a lot to the atmosphere of the game and added heaps of value. Made me feel like I was running and gunning through the corridors like in Doom. The controls were pretty solid too, and I liked the variety of enemies and the fact that you had not one, but two bosses.
The dash move seemed a bit underpowered to me, since I always dashed where I was aiming, which tended to be towards the enemies line of fire. Whenever I used it I ended up taking more damage then my enemies. Maybe it would work better to dash in the direction you're moving so you can avoid bullets.
Overall though well done
I really love the look of the game, with the low poly retro style and sorta cross hatch shading. It looks like a lot of work and skill went into making it. After starting I was very confused about how I should play the game. It took me a bit of time to realise how the turns were ticking, and I really didn't like how it cleared the selected unit after each turn. I'm not sure if there was any other players online but it was cool to play around a bit. It seemed a bit too complicated for me to figure out what I was supposed to be doing :).
This is great, too bad you didn't finish. I got to the modem and would love to see how the interface gameplay would work.
Hey that's pretty cool! I wish those white blood cells would just realise that I'm on their side though. I thought the visuals and the soundtrack was excellent, and it was pretty clever how you used the red blood cells direction of flow to guide the player. I managed to vaporise the plaque buildups but then got myself stuck in a smaller vein on the way back.. there wasn't any room to turn around.
It felt a little too cramped inside the veins, not just when the camera went outside the vein either but just in general. Apart from that though well done it's a fun game.
Really nice interesting graphics! I love the way that all the objects appeared over the horizon. It was a bit weird getting to the edge of the map though.
Wow nice job I had a great time playing your game, it has excellent style. Great use of the planet rotating and the day night cycles. And the art and sound is really nice too.
Interesting game, I really loved the atmosphere and I want to know more about the void especially. The audio was nice and the graphics were pretty cool too, I didn't mind how the characters could only face left/right, but it was kinda annoying to try and talk to characters sometimes.
So I guess the cycle is repeating itself each day? People must grow up quite fast then. I'd like it if it was a little more obvious for me :) not sure I totally understand what happened at the end.
Hmm interesting game, I really liked the weird horror vibe you had going, and the pixelated graphics were nice and retro too. Like playing silent hill on ps1. Tbh I was a bit on edge that something might jump out at me while I was playing, and honestly I don't play that many horror games for that reason!
I didn't get very far, I wasn't able to throw any candles. Also the mouse was extremely slow to turn the camera around. I was running it in compatibility mode on windows 10. Overall though it was a cool experience even with its difficulties to run.
Wow this is a very interesting game, and it feels like it's the start of a really great idea. It's impressive the quality of content you've already been able to make, and the idea of a whole physics based planet simulating fluids and magma particles with civilizations really excites me.
It doesn't feel like there's much of a game here yet though, I got to the point where the whole planet was water, all my dudes were dolphins and it just didn't matter which cards I picked anymore. Some of the ways the cards interacted with each other was really interesting, like Donald Trump blowing up all the ballistic weapons. It felt like it needed more interactions like these to make it a complete game. But well done on creating such an innovative and novel experience, it feels like it's the beginnings of a truly awesome game and I hope you continue to work on it.
Its an interesting game, and definitely ambitious for a jam game. It was fun to play but I had a lot of issues with the controls. It seemed like the zoom would go too far out, so I couldn't tell which direction my ship was pointing in, but this was necessary to navigate the planets. Also the ship seemed to turn on its own to face the direction of its velocity. This made the rockets very frustrating to avoid. In the end my ship got stuck against the surface of a planet and I wasn't able to escape.
Once the control issues are fixed I think this game could be a cool little gem.
Cool game, I'm a big fan of ant themed games so I was very excited to try yours. Good job on creating all the gameplay in 48 hours. It was fun but got a bit repetitive after a while, it didn't seem to get more difficult as time went on. I thought the perspective with the ant so close to the camera was a bit strange too, and it was a little hard to aim.
That was thoroughly enjoyable. Im a big fan of Conan and this game did not disappoint. It was great to try such an original concept. I loved how the characters would float up into the air after they were killed.
I had a lot of trouble hitting my opponent with my sword. It kept rising and falling onto his shield. It seemed like I could alter the swing a little by changing my center of gravity, but for the most part the swords arc seemed the same no matter what. Perhaps if conan jabbed forward when youre leaning forward it might be easier.
Man I love ants, and I love games about ants so I was really excited to see this game, and it did not disappoint. Actually it is so impressive what you've managed to make in such a short amount of time. It's a great little story with laugh out loud humour.
It seemed like there was a lot more of the background story fleshed out, I hope you continue to work on this as I'd love to find out more.
I guess the combat was a bit simple, and the environments looked a little bear. But it was more then enough to deliver the storyline and I think that's what mattered most. It's definitely the most humorous game I've played so far. Well done!
Really cool game, simple but addictive. Took me awhile to realise I had to click the 'play' button, at first I was just driving around the planet on the main menu screen ;D
Hey there, I tried your game but I couldn't click the play button. I was able to open both of the boxes in the boat but no matter what button I pressed on the controller I couldn't get it to start.
I wonder how those little guys get any sleep, the day/night cycles are crazy. It's a fun unique game and has excellent visuals and audio. It feels like a very high quality experience for such a short dev time. It got a little repetitive towards the end, I was starting to hope my little guys would just die already, maybe I was just really good at it though ;)
This is amazing, I can't wait to finish my work day as a programmer so I can go home and finish playing this game. Well done on the visuals and the gameplay. It looks like you've added a good amount of technical details to make the game interesting without going too overboard, well maybe a little overboard ;)
It's pretty impressive you've been able to build this game in such a small time frame as well.
One suggestion though, when I started reading the manual it would be nice to have an example complete program that I can use as reference without going through all the commands. I think that would make it easier to dive into the game straight away.
Cool game and well done on making such an interesting looking voxel world. I wish the jump was a bit higher though, especially against those blocks that are 2 units high.
It's a really cool idea for a game and I really dug the artwork and all of the characters, however it was pretty hard and I found the gameplay frustrating. I didn't like how the character got stuck on any of the enemies when I ran up against them. The jump didn't feel that great either, felt like it wasn't high enough.
The whole experience reminded me of those boomerang throwing turtles in Super Mario Bros, except there's an endless sequence of them and you can't jump on their heads. I really didn't like those turtles so maybe thats why I found it frustrating in this game.
Thats a really interesting little world. You've created a lot of mystery around the characters and the environment and it really draws you in. I love the wacky colourful graphics and all the little sound effects when you bump into trees or step on plants. It all adds so much to the atmosphere. I wish the camera wouldn't lag so far behind the character though :).
It was pretty short and I got confused at the end, I reached the top of the tower and there didn't seem like anything left to do but I wasn't sure. Also took me awhile to realise you can climb up the rope, I was just clicking on it originally.
Hey there, good job on making a unique new VR experience, hopefully there's enough people with headsets to try it out because it really worth a look! I liked the idea of being a wizard and using spells to alter your environment to solve puzzles, I think you're onto something there. I especially liked the roof slowly falling as you try to solve the puzzles, it was a pretty grim experience being crushed!
That being said I think the game had a few problems with its basic mechanics and I had a couple of problems with the puzzles. I'm not sure how I won the first level, managed to get the cube to block the laser and then look at the eye, but it wasn't visually obvious how to solve it. On the second level I swear one of the pieces to the symbol on the table never came out! I looked for it everywhere but couldn't find it. Also when I pulled the trigger I kept grabbing things I wasn't expecting to when there were multiple objects nearby.
All in all though its a pretty cool experience, and you did a really good job creating interesting gameplay, with pretty great visuals and audio too.
Interesting game, I'm not sure how far I got, but it seemed quite far when I died. I'm not sure why I lost the game each time and it was hard to keep glancing at the text in the bottom left as I was playing.
Nice game! I really liked the simple art style. Good job making everything in such a short time. I'm glad you gave a bit of a radius around the buildings so you didn't have to click on them directly.
Congratulations on making such a fun, addictive and complete game. The visuals are amazing and all the little sound effects add a lot to the atmosphere. The game has a surprising amount of depth in managing your fuel consumption and learning the effects of gravity. It feels very rewarding to learn the mechanics of the game.
I'd love it if it was possible to repeat a level after dieing instead of starting again from the beginning though. This game is great, it's the most fun I've had so far good job.
Oh yeah and sometimes when landing on the fuel pad a particle can get stuck between you and stop you from getting fuel.
Very simple but fun game with a great soundtrack, well done! I really loved the icon as well, not how I'm going to find this game again to show anyone though since I can't figure out its name!
That was a cool little game, I loved the retro graphics of trump and all the sound effects, it all looked pretty polished. I was pretty confused about who I was supposed to bomb though, I tried following the twitter feed but it really wasn't clear to me at all which countries each of the tweets were coming from.
Oh yeah and there seemed to be a bug when you bomb america, the missile rises and falls but there is no endscreen, it just gets stuck.
Thanks for your feedback, I just submitted a version that fixes the spawn points.
@Burgee thanks for your feedback, and the flying ships is by design, increase the wave strength to fly even more 😉
@banana-man @mordokay Thanks for your feedback. I'm using the Unity community Ocean which is an open source project hosted here: https://github.com/eliasts/Ocean_Community_Next_Gen. It does waves out of the box and lets you sample the water height at any point so its easy to add bouyancy. It's a pretty amazing project considering its free.
@coderTrevor I'm glad you're enjoying it so much, thanks for your great feedback :)
Nice job its a fun game and it looks like it has potential, but I kept having trouble aiming at the drones. Before I knew it they would be above me making a wuh wuh wuh noise, and I didn't seem to be able to escape them. Making it very difficult to aim at them.
