good
I laughed at the beginning "conversation". Fun game, good idea.
Very fun!
Hey there, I think everything was great, the graphics were really nice, the intro, the sounds, everything. Some potential ideas to make it better, make the earth bigger, it could make things easier to click on, multiplayer, maybe make the cities bigger, and the churches a little bigger as well, but all in all, this was great fun, very addicting, and I will probably be trying to be my high score forever and ever.
Nice little game with lots of humor. Very addiciting within the first few seconds. The only problem I had was clicking on the things as fast as possible, maybe increase their "hitbox" a tiny bit so it's easier to reach?
Thanks everyone for playing, glad you enjoyed it. @spaceemotion: Agree on the hitbox, that was actually the last bit I was fiddling around with before submitting. Not 100% happy with it myself, so I will improve it with the next release (if I make one) but that was one of those 2am things that I had to put on the "nah that'll do" pile... :)
Very nice! I got a 296 on my second try, which was much better than my first try but no idea if it's "good" or not.
That is actually pretty good! My own highscore is a bit over 300 but I'm sure more is possible.
Nice little game, I took it on myself to try and beat you

Trying to discover the most efficint way to get to 20 prayer churches was fun, tough at the end frantically clicking all the world got a bit tedious. I loved the concept, and the aliens talking were funny.
Oh wow, 480 is the official record then! Good job! :) Thanks for playing.
I really enjoyed the humor of the game. Gameplay aspect wasn't exactly for my taste but it's very impressive you have done all this by yourself and I understand that a more complex game mechanic might just impossible to finish in time. Thank you for creating this game!
I got 676p on my 4th try(my fingers started hurting so turned on autoclicker after my 2nd attempt), not sure if houses are worth building I made mainly sawmills, some mines, 2 or 3 cities and rest as churches.
Also quit does nothing on web version.
Love the aliens! Great game. I included it in my Ludum Dare 38 compilation [video series](https://youtu.be/MAnaf7kVN4I), if you’d like to take a look :)
i got 355 on second try. i dont know what are people do
Nice game, commentary on the futility of mankind? lol
Pretty fun clicker! Love the graphics and the general feel. I didn't get the goal was to generate prays until the second try. BTW I scored 340p on my third try.
Regarding the hitbox issue (quite annoying) I saw using a Voronoi implementation to improve usability when clicking on a small chart with a lot of points of interests (e.g. https://www.visualcinnamon.com/2015/07/voronoi.html)
Good job!
Thanks everyone!
@jupiter-hadley: Yes I watched it, thank you very much for playing and including! Will share your video in a second.
@spinaljack: Yep, you're absolutly right ;)
@matita: Thanks, much appreciated. I was actually working on improving the hitboxes before the 48h deadline but was running out of time. It's already implemented as 2D Circle raycast which will trigger the closest box but only within a limited area/radius. With the published version it looks like the circle cast is a bit below the box, so if you click a bit below all buildings it should be a bit easier to hit.
I might publish another version with fixed hitboxes after voting is over. Feel free to follow me on https://twitter.com/MarcGrabow to get notified when that happens. I might even include a few more buildings.
And to everyone playing this game, as I didn't talk much about the game yet: I was going for a "WTF did I just play?!" feeling after you played the first round. Taking the reactions of people into account I think I got fairly close, so I am happy about that :)
And again, thanks everyone for playing, was great fun to make and I learned a lot which will help me in continuing my gamedev career.
hey really nice game! the concept was fantastic! the alien animation was hilarious too. as was mentioned above, i was unaware that the goal was to generate the most churches although it seems more obvious after you already know xD the idea was so good though and executed well. you should continue to work on this, there is a lot of potential for expanding it!
@xxdoombox Thanks for your feedback, much appreciated. I am thinking about a version for mobiles where one could battle against someone else, get the planet ready for the big impact :) But only if I can come up with some strategy things (adding more buildings etc), because just clicking is just too boring after the first few plays.
Amazing work for the compo! I really enjoyed the sfx you used when you made the game, I have to ask, what inspired you to make this game?

Nice, simple and accurate narrative by the intro movies and ending. It fully conveys that how meanless click-and-build type games are. (As well as humanity)
Wow, that was enjoyable and cute. The ending was funny. Nice interpretation of the theme!
Is there a way to "win"? I understood that the "pray rating" is some sort of score, but I managed to get over 1000 and still the planets got destroyed.
It took me a while to realize what people were for (resource gain multiplier).
Anyway, after I understood how things work and played with it for a bit, I managed to get score of 1289 and I think that is my limit. My build order was 2 houses, then many mills (about 30). At this point, I could not comfortably collect all the mills. So next step is about 20 mines. Then, 2 cities (because since you reach 100 mil pop, more people are useless). After that, just furiously click everywhere and build as many churches as possible (while possibly balancing wood and gold income by building more mines). Here is my planet just before the end: marble.png
super super cool game!!!! I REALLY love the idea. Maybe our universe is manipulated by someone as well! The game is so complete that I can totally imaging what it looks like after being on market!
One quick question: what does the number in the blue bubble mean? Is it some kind of score? or does it actually mean something? Couldn't figure it out.
And no, I shouldn't have built so many houses. Now my mouse will serve me 3 years less
Keep simple graphics is good choice :) I like it :) In JAM is strategy game very rare :)
Thanks for playing everyone!
@wtoa: What inspired me? Good question - no idea actually. I didn't think of anything before the compo started and when we go a small world as theme I knew I wanted really really tiny people. As I am currently in love with pixelart I tried to make the smallest people possible. 1px obviously would work as well but didn't work as good. 2px was working much better for me. Everything else came as an addition as I made it up whilst hacking together a game in 48h :)
@fangzhangmnm: Thanks, you certainly got the point ;)
@boltkey: Thanks for sharing the screenshot - that score is insane! In case I ever build this as a full-game can I contact you as a tester? :) I'm impressed that you noticed the 100mil people cutoff - I might increase that in a next version to allow more variety. As for your question: Well, I wouldn't say you can actually "win" this game. The point is actually that no matter how much gold you collect, how much buildings you build or how many prayers you send - in the end everyone is doomed anyway :)
@wizcas: Thanks, much appreciated! Maybe one day it will hit the market, don't know yet :) As for your question: The number in the blue cloudy thing is the amount of prayers your little people sent before they are doomed... ;)
@hadik: Thanks for playing!
As always, please follow me on Twitter https://twitter.com/MarcGrabow if you want to know what I'm doing or my company account https://twitter.com/42_bytes to get notified when/if this game hits the market.
Oh and if you have ideas about more buildings you'd like to see, please feel free to post them here!
This was wonderful! I can't even explain how much I enjoy this :joy:
I followed on itch.io and on here to see what you make in the future, amazing!
That intro was the best thing I've seen in my entire life.
I really like this game! Very funny and has good gameplay! I though the art and animation at the beginning was great. Good job! :)
Holy crap, I've never laughed out loud at a game before, but your ending made me crack up for like five minutes. Stellar game play, very original concept. I had a lot of fun. The only thing I didn't like was how chaotic the clicking got towards the end. But seriously, nihilism has never been more funny. xD Your graphics were great, the music was on point, and aside from my minor quibble about the gameplay, it was really, really well executed. Thank you!
Wow! Super cool. I loved the graphics, sound effects, and humor. I generally don't like clicker games to begin with, but thoroughly enjoyed the playthrough I did.
The conversation between the aliens and that framing worked really well for me. Great stuff.
The teeny-tiny people and the color palette you used work awesomely well here. You definitely get the feeling like you're looking at a petri dish or something.
My highest rated and most enjoyed as a total package game so far!
Nice game! I really liked the simple art style. Good job making everything in such a short time. I'm glad you gave a bit of a radius around the buildings so you didn't have to click on them directly.
Spent waay to much time playing this! Great job man. My only criticism I guess would be that clicking on things to get rewards constantly felt like a bit too much of a skinner box and I sort of felt like a rat pushing a lever for food.. Overall though it was a lot of fun regardless good stuff :)
My Doctor told me I couldn't play cookie clicker anymore. Sigh, I think this gave me RSI. Again.
This was a really good and polished game! Nice and fun, also the it felt very satisfying to go around clicking everything. Feedback was nice and the sound effects weren't too obnoxious, which is really hard when you're working with 8 bit styled noises!
Fantastic! Finally a clicker game with a time limit, a guaranteed end instead of infinite upgrades. Great humour, fun mechanics, lovely presentation
Other people mentioned it already - the aliens were great! Pretty simple, neat clicker game.
Thanks everyone for playing and rating my game. I am very sorry I didn't get to play most of your games as I actually became a dad a few days after LD38 ended. Was and still am pretty busy changing nappies, but will be here and play and vote much more next jam!
I also included your game in an article of my favorites here: http://fireside.gamejolt.com/post/jam-favorites-ludum-dare-38-vepwgamy
