Endless Hexagon by David Cookie 2017-05-04T09:05:17Z
The world is so small for humanity to involve! Your game makes me feel the anxious and tension of modern civilization. Great job. I cannot break the 5000 score barrier either.

I LOVE BIG RABBITS!
Exciting gameplay and graphics fits the mood. It's a small world because you are shrinked in the lights. Good job
Wanna multiplayer support
It's very fun and relaxing
So fun and stupid. Nice graphics
Control is not comfortable. as a cad software, it is common to use MMB drag to move. Additional, ui layout is not reasonable. I lost my interest after several times i mishit test button.
You reminds me of the years when I was wondering a overworld adventure by digging a hole in my backgarden Using national flags is a very very clever idea. That boost the atmosphere of the game.
suggestions: The game goal and instructions should be clearfied espically in open-world games Item usage system is difficult to use
It is too difficult! No checkpoint means frustraction. The movement controls is not so smooth either. However I love your pixel art and level design
It's the best one of the game which has a planet as main character i've seen!
VR support demanded!
WHY OPT_OUT AUDIO VOTING CATEGORY!!! Your audio worth 5 stars!!! Nice enemy design, reasonable difficulty curve, plus the audio builds up tension. and the final sfx of lighthouse is the best relaxing and award after I almost cannot keep going on. Nice game length.
The dialogue text would stretch out of the screen
Your graphics makes me feel the motion of spacetime. The solitude and the vastness and narrowness of universe the world in a nutshell.
PS i'm confused that do use newton's gravity law? The gravity seems weird. But the gravity is good. I can accel myself to the escape velocity; decresde the energy while increase the angular momentum to find a circular orbit to receive the radio of celestial bodies. Cool!
Is it just a simulator? I donnot seem clear game goals. The mechanic is a bit borning. I've seen your developing video. To calculate gravity of a lot of particles, you can divide the space into grid and count how many particles in the grid. Then you calculate the gravity of each grid as a whole. How to make rocks?
Neat graphics and stylized music. Fun and neat gameplay. However, the intro dialog is tooooooo long
I love jrpgs! cute characters and interesting scenes. However I wanna a restoration point. character walk animation can be improved.
对了,你是华人吗?
wanna a true multiplayer version
Nice graphics. But the character control kills me. Can have a control style like unity's standard assets' third person character controller?
I gave you a all-five-star rating. It's a very professional game. The idea of changing scene is very cool and clever.
I've played spore, but it is an interesting idea that not growing bigger but growing smaller
The Boss's hp is so high!!!
The second type of enemy is too fast!!!
I love your world.
Ps for the impatient life-passbys. I found the press spacebar quickly will give you a acceptable move speed.
Could any explain what happened in the game?
Deep gameplay and clever player-confrontation mechanic. I think I learned nothing in my physics class lol
The images of two gods is makes the graphics fun and immersing.
Your art and music conquered me. Nice use of color, gradation, black&white, shape element. Although I hate those ones in my childhood who tells me that you willnot grow up until you see XXXXXXXX. I think whether the world is dark or light is depend on one's perspective. So it's a good idea to make different endings when player use the alarm clock in different worlds. Also, I tried to go back to the beginning to see whether there is another ending. Because your game is Philosophily deep, so players should happy to use more times stay in your little world and find more secrets.
About jumping issue, I think the reason is this: *** https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Centripetal_force ***
A starbound in 48 hours and 6 MB! Controls are smooth and makes me wanna continue to play The controls are great!
- I wanna an arrow to lead the direction to the nearest planet in the spaceship mode - The difficult curve is not reasonable. A better idea is you just need to collect not all the crystals in an orbit, but maybe half of them. That makes the freedom and decreases the repetition. - I wanna to see the environment change after your action and after the game progress. That can reduce the repetition too. - Remember, less spawnpoint, more frustration. - You've successfully create a accumulation/releasion of tension in each planet by putting different difficult levels in different distance. However, I donnot see a tension increase as you are getting closer and closer to the sun
膜拜一下大神。 Thanks for your hardworking programming there is a complex and complete gameplay. The greatest thing of your game is the quick and light movement of cat. The pace of jumping and accumulating is just fine.
- No music. Also you could strength your game's feedback by more sound effects. - The cat looks like a big worm. The key of pixel art is neat. You may make a cubic cat like characters in minecraft and the graphic will looks better. Donnot need to implement every geometry detail of the cat, instead get some abstract feature. Though, I think it is to be couraged of your art since you are a programmer. - So yourself can jump onto the bed like your cat?! - I've read your blog. I think it is wiser to leave more time for gameplay, levels, contents and finetuning since we are making a * game *, not a technical program or artwork or anything. Gameplay is the most important thing.
The game is very simplistic, but rather fun! Monitoring the whole planet is rather tough so I never get >=5 pop in my game. But it is fun to hit the bears
Nice world setting and pixel art. However, attack lag is so tormenting.
elevator is a smart idea to move between scenes.
The biggest problem of your game is that there is no mob spawn point. First time I play the game, a police spawned besides me when I was in elevator. that was so f**king! Maybe a definite mob spawn point like a door or a 3d printer (what?) makes your game more interesting.
Your game makes me feel truly living in that small planet. Music of solitude and void and the grand of universe
PS You could emphasize the time limit more in the dialogues.
Very interesting using of geocentic theory after I get bored with many small-planet games. Mouse controlling is very fun. The insufficient of your game is the lack of game goals. What can I get after I get a higher score? That limits the game length to less than three minutes after I get bored. Another problem is that the difficulty is decided by time not by score. So if you die you must start over and facing a more difficulty situation. That's very frustraction.
That makes me laugh a long time.
Then I felt loneliness. reminds me of a sci-fi in which the last human decided to use his body to feed the bacteria on the destroyed Earth, waiting for another billion year of life evolution
Suggestion: the graphic should react to your decision

map&task generators are best friends of open world
Audio is bit noisy by the way
I was doing my Riemann Geometry homework and calculating the geodesic curves of sphere surface. You game let me have a chance to examine my calculating results visually lol.
Good Things:
The music and the graphics brings a breathe of life.
To Improve:
Music is a bit noisy. Need some sound mixing.
Text is difficult to read
Nice gravity and camera motion. Nice transition from smaller planet to bigger and bigger planets.
Is there any reward on basic particles after I unlock advanced atoms?
I love anime-style games! great character design. Seamless combination of 3d and 2d arts. Great study of tiny creature's worlds. However, control is not satisfying. and game context is not enough
23333333333333333333333333333333333333333333333333333
Nice, simple and accurate narrative by the intro movies and ending. It fully conveys that how meanless click-and-build type games are. (As well as humanity)
reminds me of 无限流(Infinite style) in Chinese network literature In which the heroes are trapped in a cyberspace and the computer force them to complete random tasks in different virtual worlds.
Addicitiving and brain-burning game.
Marvelous control of pace of tension!
I think it is a fast-paced survival game. Your speed is a bit lower than the enemies, so you must collect power-up items. In this process the distance of enemy decreased, so the tension increased.
The hazards and complex terrain make everythink more hurry. After collect enough power-ups, You can rush out immediately and get rid to the enemies (temporary).
It's a release of tension and that brings great enjoyment. That forms the emotion cycle. The music and unnatural rendering of environment emphasizes the feelings.
So although this game lacks clear goal like other games I reviewed, I donnot think it is a problem. Run! Run for your life and no time to think mooooorreeeeeeee!
The music builds up the atmosphere very will. However the minigames are difficult, needs practice but I have no chance to retry
I love minimalist RPG! Suggestions: music is a bit noisy. Maybe a lowpass filter?
Your game makes me swing left and right! good game! Bouncy graphics!
Innovation control and great graphics. But the gameplay is a little short and game goal is not clear defined.
Very thankful that you have shared your development details! Helps me a lot because I plan to make a 2d game next jam but I donnot know what software to use
When I was in middle school, I made a "virus" and put it in my teacher's computer. The virus is a flying pig on the screen and you must click it to close it.
It is too difficult even in the first level. I cannot hit the second alien before he attacks me
It is a good and innovative game. Shouldn't have such less ratings.
The graphics is neat, color is good. audio is very noisy although. The game idea is fun. It's a hard work to make a simulation into a playable game, but worthy.
Your game lack of gameplay. I'wll tell you how to do: There are two kinds of rules. The first set of rule is about how the game world works. That's the simulation rule. You've done a perfect job on it. The second rule is about the game itself. What is the game goal? what can player do? How the world reward the player? Your game lack of this kind of rules.
Maybe you can set rule to limit the population. Maybe you can set rules to reward player powerful items. Maybe you can set rule to limit the amount of flags.
Another suggestion is on the narrative. I've get your idea from different scenes, about how people establish SNW in royal, in city, in outaku. However, there is only the scene tells story and that's not enough. impatient or careless players might ignore them. You can use gameplay to tell the story. That'll be more clarify
This game is peaceful, but lack of instructions. Patience is needed to wait for the birds attract by the coconut and use stone to hit the key down. If the game is finished and looped as I return the nose to the stone figure, I think the content is not enough. But It's a good survival game if more levels are added.
I love roaming in your small world and relaxing decide which next station I should go. Very relaxing and envolving.
To simulate PS1 I chosen 640*480 resolution. However, the text goes beyond the edges. Nice game. I love the colors and level geometries. The music is stylish too. The game looks so complete. Congrats. The drawback of your game is that there is little connection with the theme
I LOVE NUCLEAR STATIONS!
More words. I'm a physics student. So i've had enough of numbers and formulars. Add some visual feedback of plant's status, please. Since it is a game, You can exaggerate it. such as let the buildings become red when too hot.
Secondary, WHERE IS THE MUSHROOM CLOUD?!
- should have a reset button. - the sfx is very good - your game used 2G of memory. is it a bug??
Explore in darkness with time limit is a good idea. The time limit pushes us goto unknown darkness and explore. That's the basic idea of survival games/
The collider of character should not be as tall as the character. In most games the character's upper body can overlap with the walls.
The music is good and appropriate. I love that music.
The graphics doesn't seems like retro game. In 1980s consoles can only represent several colors at the same time.
I love the color and the simplicity of gameplay. The color are very matched. I love the painted texture and clear modeling.
However, the biggest problem is there is no feedback whether I shot the ants. Additional, at first I'm not certain where I should go. you can use arrows or lights to tell player where the game takes place. I want more bass of shot audio. That can emphasize the feedback.
The mouse is not sensitive, It's hard to aim. I donnot know whether it is my computer's problem. And I want to jump.
Nice tree placement and game level design. Like the last where you must push the tree to go.
Tried 3 times.
I consumed 40 minutes on this game Hunt and eat and growth type of survival game the gameplay is addictiving but lack of balancing - The core's firepower is so strong and turrent is useless at the beginning. Only hull is useful - lack of stronger enemies QQ截图20170803144859.jpg
add shadows can make the characters stand on ground and the graphics more realistic.
check out my post on LD38 [Technical Sharing: How I make a photo-based AR game](https://ldjam.com/events/ludum-dare/38/clean-the-dorm/technical-sharing-how-i-make-a-photo-based-ar-game)
QQ截图20170804035622.jpg First attemp runned out power on first night【
- maybe some visual feedback when my character getting elder?
Could there be an windows x86 build? I want to share it to my friends.
@silkworm-sweatshop Oh my good you are an awesome FPS player! @rongo-matane Thank you very much. And since it is a jar, I can translate it into Chinese for my friends lol.
@starlight-glimmer-is-best-poney Welcome check out my ld38 entity [clean the dorm](https://ldjam.com/events/ludum-dare/38/clean-the-dorm/) The music is 10 times annoying as well as gameplay:)
I liked your lowpoly art
It's too hard! I cannot even pass level 2.
First, I love the concise gameplay. It might be more fun if the level design might be added more difficulty.
Then, I love your game's mood. Music is very quiet and the hand-painted graphics fits well. However, I dont like the robot's moving audio. It might add more low frequency. Maybe you can use a headphone when making sfx? then you can hear the lower beats
I think movement speed should be a bit faster
It take sometimes to figure out that the power is main power, It needs other system or you cannot make it good function.
Godlike Art! I love hand painted room materials and the cats and rats looks furry. The lighting is professional. Could you share your technique? www Algorithm-generate content keeps the game can be played many times.
Problems: - the biggest is that i cannot adjust my view of point. also the lower side of the room are blocked. - give furniture physics is a good idea. However, please give me visual feedback when I can hide in the furniture. maybe an 'E' letter? - game mechanics is a little simple.
Coffee is a good idea. I wanna see more elements in this game about coffee
672 coins get
这个游戏有毒……
Boring but feedbacktive minigame with anime girls with metagaming, you knows a lots of otaku subculture!
Audio builds up the atmosphere well
I love the music. The graphics is very good. But I think it can even be improved by adjusting the colors and make sight focus on the picture center. The camera is very professional. The grapics looks very cool, but I worry that the flincker lines might make player sick. I can still drive my car even I lost all energy. Bumped road is an interesting idea. This game worth play many times. And I want more rock and roll

I wonder how you made the level design?
Yes I liked spiders. You've completed a very complete fps gameplay. and graphics is really creative, as well as level design.
suggestions: - targets too small to hit - rpg damage radius too small - enemies should be fear of bullets so I can make a fire suppression. - game mechanics should be tweaked, as the above said, I found the most effective way is to rush to the next crystal and ignore the enemies. You should tweak the game rule to make to player behave as your designed. - No clear game goal. The light beam of each crystal is great, but I don't know why I should collect the crystals, what benefit I can get and when I can win.
Maybe make it a survival game?
Rather a difficult game and excelling music and adorable animation. Liked dragons
A REALLY POLISHED AND YET TO RECOVER GAME!
Sometimes I want to play computer games just because I want to play computer. You got my point!
The voice effects are five stars. Liked the feeling of discovering an unknown software when I was 10.
Suggestions: A clear game goal can stick the players on your game for an incredible long time. I'm not clever enough to find any hidden story beneath your software. Maybe add an easy-to-find-at-first clue and a thread. If you think that is stupid, you can add the second hidden thread. However, first thread must be able to be found by the most stupid and impatient one like me lol:)
The music is a bit annoying, since it is a game requiring concentration and imagination The feedback on attacks is not intuitive. The hp numbers are rather small and no animation to enhance their changes. Maybe it is for an old-school feeling which I cannot get. anyway this game feels good
This game should not be missed!
The music sounds pleasing. But the game is rather hard-core.
Character control should be improve. The music should not restart when new level starts. Character should have some power to deal with when being surrounded by the fans.
Simplistic and easy-to-understand gameplay. wonderful
The music sounds really like traffic jams. Good composition
I was wondering a week ago about if it is possible to make a happy-to-lose game. You did it!
The stress-relaxing when you lose is marvelous
Nice caught of feeling of "slightly annoying"
QQ截图20171208131036.png I believe it would be a better game if made slower 3 times
Greed is good and life is limited, so you should learn when to take off the bag.
However, those artifacts makes your game very frustrating:
- The total time limits. Since it is a game with a lot of explorations and trail-and-errors. A total countdown will drive the player mad. It is a chore to retry from the very beginning - The character controller. It is very hard to control, and the character capsule always stuck on edge of platforms. - Physics bugs. Sometimes characters and treasures will penetrate down to the lower lever and ruined your efforts.
When I was 8 years old, dad took me to a business dinner. There is no water and I'm thirsty, so dad gave me beer. I drank 8 tins of beer and vomit. That was the last time in my life I took alchohol
I'm sad to say, it is not a depression game. In contrast, it is a relaxing game and will let the player laugh on the poor man instead of compassion. Why? The **presentation** of this game may be about a poor's life, but the very **essence** of this game is nothing more than **Click the red spots and get money**. That did be an addictive game, but will never made the player depressed.
To make a really depression game, you should try the art of frustrating players without scare them out. Maybe let the black figures blocks the player more often?
Anyway, I liked your drawing
You may take a look at Japanese visual novels and galgames. They are masters in depressing storytelling within games.
Really nice and polished graphics.
- I think it would be better to jump with [space] - player is too easy to die - sometimes jump key doesn't work
Score 05127. Liked the graphics. BUT THE MUSIC OF DIFFERENT INSTRUMENTS SOUNDS DETUNE. I don't know if it was my browser's problem
REALLY A DEPRESSION, SAD GAME.
You did it.
I've seen many you-cannot-save-them-all games but all of them used a fast pace to drive the player mad. There is no time to empathy.
In your game, the piano builds up a tranquil atmosphere so the meows sound heartbreaking. The control is rather slow, just as the powerless feeling. And the cats' not understand to the savior enhanced the depression.
Oh I would have to be able to play it if my computer didn't broke. I'll give you 5 stars as encouragement.
Got confused how to play ya
I really appreciate at that the screen began shock as you are fat enough
Tips: the lower your COM is, the stabler your tank is.
I've seen your video on bilibili. good job. One thing I want to point out is the game pace. There is no pressure for player to add more turrets.
you can control the jump height and jump on top of danmaku and hamster
tongguan.gif I did that!
@goplite That was a bad news. I did do some works on preventing such mistake to happen. It seems they didn't work. :(
127hit5die Played this game while listening some edm. Yeah the music will make the game great. As if I knew how to make music 😢
WHAT A FUCKING GAME
bugs: music duplicated when restart game
The graphics and music are AAA rankly fits the mood.
However, I got confused what to do as the game starts. Either didn't I know what attacks do I have.
And There should be a crosshair for aiming.
When I was attacked by enemies of I hit a enemy, there is no feedback (such as screenshock?) to notice me that.
Should be a great and addictive game if without those atrifacts.
The sound is great. But the character locomotion is hard to control.
Liked the simplistic
Lower saturation can make your game look better :)
Exponential explosions are really dangerous! I felt I was managing a nuclear station!
Really good work on physics engines to prevent the proliferate of lower leveled rabbits stuck into others.
Really solid game mechanics. Good programming skills and artwork. However, it seems it's your first time for the game jam, something of your game seems unexperienced: - I was thrown into a crowd of enemy spaceships and there is no time for me to get familiar with the game controls and mechanics. - When I was happy building my empire, it tolds me that the game ends and thanks for playing. Lack of game goal. I didn't know the win condition
You've got the gift, I believe you will be a great game developer as you gain experience.
Expecting a post-jam version
70 coins and 212 seconds
Dark-forest typed game mechanics promised the fun of this game. However the control is not good and feedback is not cool.
maybe an arrow animation when you click on the ground? and make hit animations such as screenshakes, knockbacks, and blade effects.
the walls sometimes block raycast.
anyway, the most thing need to be imporved is the ai. they always ignore the player.
The key of videogame's ai is not how clever they are, but the player can understand what they are doing, I mean, empathy
Got the feeling of multiple universe and a sense of quantum mad. Also, I think it did conveys the feeling of how happy it is when you see a good numerical results in the laboratory.
Music-based timing is no-doubt excellent solution. And that make the game can be played comfortably for a long time. Liked your edm. and liked the girl. The shadow enemy is a lot of reverie.
You did a very relaxing clicking game and I really liked the fat rabbits and the strong rabbits. Random rabbit events made your game more polished. However, there are two problems: - Click the rabbit is hard and if not hit the rabbit, you will lost a carrot. - The game mechanics is not clear. I didn't get the conditions of rebelling. Neither do I saw the effect of population growth. And I donnot know which building produces which kind of rabbits.
Anyway excellent game
1 You are right. Every one are vulnerable to picking coins. Really an addictive game.
2 You used the physics engine correctly. Such a mess office enhanced the mood very well
3 At first I thought the plot disjointed from the gameplay, for the game went happier and happier but the plot was telling something sad. That sounds preaching. Then I realized I did be enslaved by the game, for I would get angry whenever I made a mistake and failed to collect money. Until that I calmed out and noticed the game's color was going. That was good
4 The reversal in the ending was really surprising. Then I would like to say, such a the-plot-ruins-all-your-effort setting in game designing is really danger to use, because it will frustrate the players a lot. However, you used it on a correct point. The emotion it induced is neither angry or frustrated, but a more complex one. Good job!
QQ截图20171208191856.png
It should have been a very good game due to its mechanics. but in fact it is really frustrating. At first it took me severay runs until I got the game rule. Also the goal is not clear. Then It is too easy to die and I donnot know why.
Really good graphics and music. However, there are problems - No attack animation and hp bar - Wrong shadow rendering order - cannot remove building - The game crashed after some rounds - mouse got stuck - want some tooltips - no clear game goal - the enemy spawn rate didn't fit the game pace - The night went on even if all the enemies are died - Not realized the map can scroll ar first. Then needed a minimap to notice where the attack began
It would be a very good game. Come on.
got laggy on my labtop
Yes. I think this ldjam's theme is putting too much pressure to the player. I did a lot stress-management in my game trying not to scare the players too.
Modeling is excellent, intro is imaginable
Briliant idea! stand on a flying plane sounds very, very cool
Ohhs I REALLY LOVE THOSE LITTLE HARPIES wwwwww
The remix music is cool
SUggestions:
I got confused when facing the boss that which parts should I shoot. Secondly, player move speed might be 1.5x faster
Really brilliant idea! And using shadow to indicate the big ball and press the player is a genius idea. To make your game a great game, you should work more on the camera to make a sense of sped and hurry. Study the games like temple run. And the camera perspective of the cover art of the game is perfect. Another hint for more gamers is try of compress your textures and reduce the build size.
Not understand how to use the fridge and the tv :(
I have returned my SO(3) knowledge to my group theory teacher lol
I think another sparkspot of your game is the camera controller. That enhanced the humor very much
Hardly to bring down five enemies in a row.
Advises:
- game goal and endings (such as death and respawn) are really import. Just control the game state. - you can create animations in a more exaggerate way - As are fighting game, timing between your button press and attack damage deal in vital important
Anyway, I appreciate your working!
I love the graphics. The music is also rocking.
However, I as expecting it a flying game, I mean, the background moves. Also, it's hard to shoot. You should refer to starfox's aiming system. Shoot feedback is also weak.
The music fits the game world very well-- all of them are non-understandable and mysterious. And you showed me how powerful voxel can be in fast-making a world. Good job!
1:12:57
467lb
good game
I think You may implement something to reduce the snowball size and add particle animations on it, that would make this game a stress-killer
the maxium is 500lb? I want to have a screen-sized snowball:(
I really enjoied cheating this type of game with my surface pen lol
Oh f**k I cannot stay calm unless i have clicked all the red (1) bolbs
- got black screen at the ending sometimes
My heart melted. The best feed-a-big game I've played on this jam. I should make it in vr for a more intuitive sense of such a big ball.
I think you do not need to opt-out the graphics voting. Since level designing and lighting is as difficult as making prefabs
Distrotion effect is really fun. However the mistake-tolerance is really low.
There was an old lady who swallowed a fly
Impeccable music and graphics. However, got confused whether there where side effects of growing egos except that the character went higher and higher and the game ended with no sign? Need more timely feedbacks on my actions and more solid gameplay.
I liked your ship. However, It would be good if I can use mouse to control the ship's lift angles.
AI-generated music?
Really cute graphics
Oh f**k please make the music at the same pace as the rope, PLEASE?
Score 10500
At first I thought it was yet another not-to-eat-too-much game. Then it told me I starved. I got confused. Then I eat a lot in the game then I lose again. After that finally did I understand this game's rule.
It is a good idea to add such diet management into a platform game. And I think the idea of connecting discharge to dash is very clear. It is not only the fact that one should do some exercise after eating too much, but also, as the diet management is stressful, so the discharge which will reduce the fat bar is stress-relaxing. It did be a good idea to connect it with a satisfying dash movement.
There are framerate issues. The screen flickers and characters swing at a rather fast pace.
Also dialogs are too fast for reading
Keep on going!
装逼(taunt)太爽了 Player speed should be faster
@siepiau Yeah, just like enrage the girls and rush into the man toilet. lol.
