Discarding the fact that you may not ever die, this is brilliant all around - with the aesthetics, audio, and idea (took me 3 strikes to figure out attacking, but yeah). I wish it had a bit more challenge, and going on the other side of the cube was a bit easier (I had to click a few times to get it right). But great stuff overall!
Very cute and fun game!
The game does a wonderful job of capturing the theme, the art and music are exceptional. The game would make a great app! (I accidentally posted two comments)
Love it. Great music, great art, and simple, fun gameplay.
I really like the artstyle, and the theme fits perfectly. It's fun at first, but it's not challenging at all and if you die you have to restart all of the exact same levels :/. An idea to make it more challenging would be to maybe be to have upgrades. The way they would work is after a level ends, you could look at the next level but not actually have your cat enter it yet. Then after you've seen what you're going to get into you can make an upgrade. So maybe there are 4 upgrades to choose from each level(you can only take 1 of course), and you have to figure out which one would benefit you the most. If you don't choose wisely, you could die before the level is over because of your bad choice. If there was something to make it more challenging like that it would be a perfect little game for me.
I accidentally posted 4 versions of this because of slow connection but there's no way to delete it, so I'm just shortening all of them but the first to this. The game is good, if you can't find my first comment.

I love a simplistic games while maintaining a challenge! Better than most mobile games out there! Loved it! Thank you!
Some feedback: feels like in some levels you introduced new terrain, maybe introduce a transition in music? just to change things up a little bit? the music is great and wished i could hear more!
OMG so cute, love it
Nice and tight set of mechanics, but once you figure out the perfect-defense attack strategy, there's no challenge and no interesting decisions to make. Reasonable sound (bfxr?) and music, but the gameplay just isn't there for me.
Might I suggest a dodecahedron?
The voxel graphics and the animations are so cute ^^ In terms of gameplay, I think you should add a little bit more spice, like a shop system or (as @steve-johnson said) some other polyhedra to play on.
Also, keyboard controls. Touchpads are annoying.
@x227man Thank you! We are working on an Android post-jam build.
@flying-cat-of-the-pepes Interesting suggestion! We are thinking of adding shops every 10 levels or so, so that if you die you return to the last shop you visited instead of starting from the beginning.
@meenners Great idea; different music per biome would add to the mood. Thanks!
@steve-johnson Thanks for the feedback! Haven't thought of trying different polyhedra to traverse; interesting idea but we would like to keep it simple for now. We may have different enemy types (some that move or have ranged attacks) to spice up the gameplay and difficulty.
@mao We have keyboard controls! **Z**, **X** to rotate the world, :arrow_backward: and :arrow_forward: to move to the front-left and front-right faces. Feel free to try them and let us know what you think.
This is just freaking adorable.
Time for me to gush about this game. That was so cool. Not only did you get the Small World theme spot on, but the graphics were amazing, the sound and music were top-notch, and the gameplay, while it seemed a little easy at times, was quite a lot of fun! It's when you don't pay attention to attack values that you get yourself defeated. Simply put, I am a huge fan of this game, and you all for making it.
This is easily one of my favorite games so far. Please, keep up the great work and I can't wait to see what you come up with next!
I kept on playing until I got into a zen trance. Very nice aesthetics and innovative style of gameplay. I'm not sure how it could be expanded aside from adding more sides and such. It also had a nice difficulty, which I think could be improved if the enemies attack you if they are facing you so I can't just hop behind them every time. I loved how the world is displayed, and the style is fantastic.
Very enjoyable game, took a few tries to work out how to play the game. But when I did, I had great fun. Very interesting feature that you can only go one of two ways, sometimes a rather annoying one. Gets a bit repetitive after playing for a bit, while still making me want to play again. Well done great entry.
Nice job, this was really fun! I really enjoyed the concept and graphics of this. Has an extremely difficult time clicking the sides I could not see, or using the arrow keys to also try to attack those directions. Once I found the sweet spot for clicking I did really well. Keep up the good work!
Very cute and fun; Got bored around world 20 after figuring out the systems up to that point. I'd like to see the enemies have some initiative but I can understand why that wasn't done due to space/movement constraints. It's a really nice and novel concept.

Great game. The graphics are cute and very well done. I loved the transitions between worlds, there is a sensation of improvement and progression, it is very easy to play. Congrats!
Love the art. Cool concept. Didn't feel challenging then I got to world 28 and a robot one shot me. Very addictive. I assume by the aspect ratio the phone is the intended platform?
A really great little puzzle game. Well done.
I love this game, clearly one of my favorite game of the jam so far! The theme is totally there, the audio and graph are perfect and the gameplay is there (but couldn't hurt to be a bit more challenging) Different pattern attacks for the enemies could really do the trick (For some reasons it makes me think of crypt of the necrodancer for enemy patterns, maybe you could look into it ?) Anyway, really good work, well done!
I like your take on the theme. The graphic and music are really well made. Nice work!
Fun game. I am curious to see what other mechanics you can think of to keep the concept interesting.
Very nice graphics. Got bored after lever 31 though. When you figure out the way to attack an enemy there isn't much challenge. Overall very well done!
This was a great interpretation of the theme! Nice music and graphics, but the difficulty was a little low.
I think this is the best game out of around 15 I've played so far! Everything about it is beautiful, I live the transitions, the graphics, the animation, everything, can't say any less! :) If I could give 6 out of 5 points, I would!
I love minimalist RPG! Suggestions: music is a bit noisy. Maybe a lowpass filter?
This is so reactive!! It's so responsive and smooth, great job on the animation curves. It's also so simple in its teaching. I didn't even need to be told that enemies only attack you once they face you. The game taught me without me even needing to fail first. Also, 10/10 name for your cat. Gnocchi the cat is the best thing ever. I love this!! GREAT job!
Really great game! Graphics are cute, animations are crisp and really nice. Good take on the theme. Gameplay is fun to figure out; I got to level 18 but found it just getting easier afterwards. Well done!
Fantastic game. I got to world 32 before making a mistake with a spider. One of the best interpretations of the theme I've seen so far, and great execution as well; everything just feels *good* from the tile flips to the crate dissolve, etc...
Once you started getting 4 monster + spike levels it seemed like crates mostly stopped spawning; I think I had 6 keys when I died. Only real complaint is the lack of strategic depth. You can 'kite' all of the enemies forever as long as you have a space to move to, so it comes down to 'do you get the upgrades or potions necessary to clear enemies before dying from jumping on and off a spike trap' in the deeper levels.
Finally got around to playing this! Kept me entertained for a good while longer than I thought it would -- made it to world 43 before dying of a misclick. Things were pretty slow for the first handful of worlds until I managed to get my first attack upgrade.
One small gripe -- the sfxr/bfxr/whatever-style sound effects are a bit grating, watch out for lower frequency pops and clicks especially! >_<
Really fun spin on the theme :)
Nice concept and cute graphics! Controls (both keyboard and mouse) were not intuitive for me. Maybe I'm too stupid...
The game could use increased difficulty but that's my only complaint. Maybe give each creature type certain behaviors, like certain kind attack first? The music and graphics and world mechanics were great. Nice job!
One of the best Ludum Dare 38 games I've played so far! I could go further but stopped at World 44. Amazing graphics and gameplay. The voxels are cool, but highly detailed voxels are even more cool (as is presented in this game). Music has kind of a nice nostalgic vibe. If you decide to develop this game further, there should be more enemies and powerups. As is, it's excellent for 72 hours of development.
If there is one thing you should do, it's to offer downloadable versions of this game. As far as technical problems, camera turning with the keyboard is easy, but with the mouse drag (which I was more inclined to do), turning the camera was more difficult. The camera would not lock into place from mouse drag.
Overall, this game is elite among the jam entries!
Awesome interface system and use of the theme. I particularly like the elegant way you generate the next small world. Congratulations. The gameplay in itself is too easy and repetitive once you realize that you can attack the monsters on the side then turn around them and do it again for ever. I stopped at world 12, I had been at full hp the whole time with no challenge at all.
Fun to play but not very challenging after figuring out how to not get any damage. Awesome graphics and realization of theme though :)
Well, that was very, very fun! Probably one of my favourite entries. I love how you used the theme. It feels tiny yet you have stuff to do. That's a very good thing! Graphics are cute too! However, the difficulty curve is... weird. I assume it's procedurally generated right? That's a good thing but for a loooong moment the game was too easy (there is a lack of challenge since you always have the option to attack from behind) and then all of a sudden, I am surrounded by 2 spikes and 2 enemies (making it impossible to evade). Tried to kill an enemy but he got me in 3-4 shots while I was unable to kill it so... I lost while I started that life with full life. Should have went for the spikes I guess....
A great addicting dungeon clicker game! I love how much polish there is in the game (The voxel-based graphics, tile transition, 8-bit retro sound effect, 8-bit font). Everything just comes together in such a fun and cohesive package. The deceptively simple mechanic is also super fun to experiment with. I think with a few more varieties in tiles/obstacles, this game would have no problem hitting the top charts of either the iOS or Android store. Great job guys! Really fun game that I would love to see more of.
