LD38 — A Small World

Cowmets by NickZangus 2017-05-07T20:18:28Z

Well, this is awesome. Great game, all around.

Last Bloom by NvrSkipGameDay 2017-05-05T19:11:18Z

I had a lot of fun playing the game and keeping up with the action. The music works well. The art is really nice and I like the overall style of the game. Sound effects would add a lot!

Plonat Atek by s-ol 2017-05-03T02:39:26Z

Ah!!!!!!!!!!! You're my hero.

Stardust - A space adventure by shiitman 2017-05-08T00:34:30Z

Love the drawn art style, and the music was experimental and pretty non-conforming (which I love!!!). Really dig the overall style. I'd love to play it further and see how the spaceship starts to look as you inhabit it. I did think that the typing style dialogue delivery was a bit cumbersome to read, but that's a very small note.

Retro Rabbit by wtoa 2017-05-06T01:29:41Z

Very cool! Nice graphics, nice music, and it's a lot of fun!

Lead the Ants by matita 2017-05-05T18:42:54Z

Nice! Early levels could be made more interesting if there is something for the lead ant to do after creating a path to food. I felt like there was a lot of waiting around.

Planet Bash by killerkun 2017-05-06T01:41:05Z

Very nice! Love the music and art. Smashing is perfect.

[BOXAVERSE] by Fran Segura 2017-05-09T16:57:04Z

I really dig this game. The use of the theme here is integral to the story, which I appreciate. Music and sound was nice. I think it's a bit difficult to understand which character can interact with which tool, etc. I think that's maybe part of the fun, but at times I though it could be more intuitive. Nice game!!! Love the graphics.

Skylands by huminaboz 2017-05-11T02:36:31Z

Very nice. Graphics, music, and sfx all compliment each other well. I like the game mechanics a lot, and overall thing it's a super solid jam. Nice Rick and Morty derp face. ;)

6 degrees by cablay 2017-05-09T16:22:13Z

I think the use of the theme was pretty unique. Sound and music could diversify a bit. I know this is way extreme, but it would be cool if each "feature" had a certain sound to it so that when you hover over the "soon to be friend" you hear the sound of them which would be made up of all of their features respective sounds. It would add a whole layer of satisfaction, I think. Anyway, cool game! Very unique.

Sucker Munch by oultrox 2017-05-09T12:55:55Z

Love it! Great sound, graphics, gameplay. Everything. I had a blast playing it as well!

Check out our game if you get the chance! https://ldjam.com/events/ludum-dare/38/down-the-rabbit-hole

6-Sided Sojourn by Cosmic Adventure Squad 2017-05-05T18:54:05Z

The game could use increased difficulty but that's my only complaint. Maybe give each creature type certain behaviors, like certain kind attack first? The music and graphics and world mechanics were great. Nice job!

Symbios by drestuff 2017-05-03T22:00:01Z

Style is really all encompassing. Sound, music, graphics. All work together really well.

LD42 — Running out of space

Get Comfortable by mcccclean 2018-08-15T19:28:19Z

Very fun take on the theme.

Shrinking Panes by Pennycook 2018-08-18T02:02:17Z

Very nice. I like that the gameplay mechanic led to a bigger story like Portal. Using the narrative writing to make it so that a failure only led to that test subject dying and allowing you to retry as the next test subject was great. And made escaping at the end that much more satisfying. Very nice!!

I like that you made the step sfx the beat of the music. At first it threw me off because it wasn't lining up with the actual motion of the character, but when I realized that it was synced to the music, I appreciated it. That type of experimentation is fun, and honestly the best thing to do when making a jam game.

Thanks for the game!

no-kill by daniel 2018-08-16T22:50:26Z

Very cute!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! obviously you could add more gameplay elements to spice it up, but it's a darn jam! The sound and visual design alone is a feat to pull off in a jam game. Very nice.

Accurate Exam Simulator by Yasaman 2018-08-15T19:30:50Z

Fun take on the theme and good execution.

Captain Starbeard and the Curse of the Wonky Equipment by those-30-ninjas 2018-08-18T04:11:41Z

@redhermit If you put the piece back over a red spot on the power grid, it doesn't power the piece. I think really what is happening is that the game is easy enough that you don't have to power many of your ship systems to win. I played the game without changing up the pieces as they were knocked off and I won. I think the difficulty just needs to be ramped up a bit. Thanks for playing!!

Ouch! by Zachary Shah 2018-08-13T19:56:21Z

Yes. Very good. I like it, a lot.

Balloon Critter by RedHermit 2018-08-18T01:31:37Z

Nice, love the idea to add bumps to jump over obstacles and onto different sections of level. Keep up the good work!

Cubiqum by Arqcenick 2018-08-13T19:22:58Z

Like the simple graphic and color choice. Music goes well with it. 10 hours! Nice!

Demotrash by shimage2 2018-08-18T01:38:02Z

I love these entries that uses the theme to combine one game mechanic that helps you reach the win screen, to another game mechanic that helps you reach the lose screen. All in one action. Your game does that the best out of many that I've played so far! Nice job!

Pig Pile by GreenBoxGames 2018-08-13T19:15:52Z

I must place them as trophies... Shit, why did I put all of these pig gut trophies everywhere... I can't walk!! :pig: nice entry.

Clod's Quest by Sidnoea 2018-08-18T01:25:41Z

The idea is a pretty fun spin on the theme. It was really hard, though. :P

Delusional Thoughts by aCuriosity 2018-08-15T19:20:44Z

Made me smile the whole time. Also the game is just fun!!! The obvious strength is the humor in the sound and music. Dig the Salad Fingers reference.

LD44 — Your life is currency

Leif is Life by phi 2019-04-30T16:39:40Z

Audio was hilarious. I imagine that you all were working on the game and the sound person came in and was like, "we need to record the death sounds... quick everyone make death sounds." The music was fun and worked perfectly with the humor of the game. Obligatory, "the blurry text hurt my head head" comment. Great jam!! <3

Highway To Hell by Dev_For_Pizza 2019-04-30T16:45:14Z

I like the visuals. I felt like I could just spam attacks and defense and get through waves fairly easily. Otherwise, nice jam!

An I by Drury 2019-05-18T16:26:45Z

5 stars all around. This was incredible. There was a moment where I started getting juggled by the bullies, and I just watched my life tick away while I'm just trying to get groceries for this person. I saw the desperation in the little character's eye as it hit them... "I spent 8 years of my life getting knocked around while running other people's errands..." Genius use of the theme and a brilliant jam. My favorite by far. For what it's worth... I used the amount of free time that earned by playing video games... Hahaha. Too real.

HoldTheButton by Zitao YE 2019-05-18T16:20:21Z

I loved the atmosphere. Some soft Aleatoric music could sell the overall mood a bit more, but I definitely enjoyed the weird sound of the button press, mixed with the bizarre trading of body parts for nostalgic messages. Where are they body parts going? Who's sending us these personal memories? Are they ours? Definitely enjoyed this game! Great art style. Reminds me of Gary Panter's Cola Madness.

Somnambulist by LancesCaterpie 2019-05-18T16:33:49Z

Beautiful and touching use of the theme.

Darkest Decision by pmarincak 2019-05-01T18:06:41Z

Top notch on everything!! <3

S.A.S.S. by mcovert 2019-04-30T17:03:14Z

@ianlux definitely try it with sound if you get a chance! <3

King's Alchemist by Vlad Dae 2019-04-30T16:31:24Z

Loved this one. Very fun, and making it harder to get to recipe's kinda upped the difficulty, which I think is okay. Music and sound would be great, but overall it's a strong jam.

Bring Home the Bacon by EatAtJoes 2019-05-07T13:10:03Z

Great job! I'm not huge on stock trading games, but I love how it utilized the theme! The sound design was a nice touch when traveling to work, and you have a nice ambient music track to vibe to while trading.

Blood Money by kristinamay 2019-05-21T16:02:04Z

Great atmosphere in the writing. Would love to have sound environments and sfx. Also, reprinting your new options after making a choice would be great, as others have said.

Killing in the name of... by sver 2019-04-30T16:59:56Z

I really like that this game was actually difficult for me because I quickly decided that I was only going to sacrifice men with no children. I love how the game is pretty simple if you negate human morals. Congratulations. I'm super impressed with this one. The audio was great too and I agree with @zarkonnen. That animation had me laughing out loud.

Alleycat Faust by kostasvs 2019-05-02T16:46:12Z

Loved the graphic design of the game and the gameplay is a good idea but maybe a bit too easy. Even without powerups, there were plenty of spaces between cars for it to not be all that difficult. Either way, I really dig this entry!! Nice job.

A Pirate's Reward by philipprapp95 2019-04-30T13:57:24Z

Cool game! Polished feel and the audio/music is really nice!

The Price of a Palace by TPZombie 2019-04-30T16:24:56Z

It feels weird... I kinda wish you would have made the atmosphere of the game feel darker to match the subject matter, or over the top cutesy... you know, to match the subject matter. System was designed well, though! Good job.

Where Is My Liver by NyanDev 2019-04-30T16:52:34Z

I like your interpretation of the theme. Your health is driving you to collect currency. A real Breaking Bad interpretation. Very nice. Great jam!! <3

utsvulten by ditto 2019-05-02T16:54:38Z

LD47 — Stuck in a loop

Liftman by gamechoy 2020-10-10T15:20:51Z

This was a pleasant surprise!! I like how the tone remained a bit quirky and light until the first time you get one wrong and it actually managed to be quite unsettling. It's difficult to pull of that type of tone shift ala Twin Peaks, but I think you managed it! Fun music. Great jam! I like that you managed to do compelling story/game loop and thought about every aspect that adds up to a full game experience. A lot of people won't balance them all in a jam so congrats on that.

Friday Night Funkin by Cameron Taylor 2020-10-06T14:06:53Z

Great combo of art and music.

Exit Condition: Zero by godsboss 2020-10-05T19:04:39Z

Nice! For a jam game it has quite a bit of tutorial. I wonder if those tutorials could have been left as regular levels that slowly introduced new tools to get the jobs done. Good, thorough work though!!

Fort Loop by deepnight 2020-10-06T14:15:36Z

Some of the early puzzles stumped me for a while but I was interested enough to push through. Props to you!

Orbital Rescue by ZebraInFlames 2020-10-12T13:29:17Z

Nice art and polished gameplay! I love the camera zooming. Some Atari-like music would have brought it all together. Nice work.

Orbital Rescue by ZebraInFlames 2020-10-12T16:53:11Z

@zebrainflames ooo that trail is pretty too. Seriously love the art.

Pufferfish Panic : Proliferating Pressure by Teanan 2020-10-06T14:43:52Z

It reminds me of my childhood playing The Incredible Machine. Fun music and sound. I was playing with a laptop trackpad instead of mouse so spinning pieces was next to impossible. It would have been nice to have a keyboard option to spinning the pieces before placing them. Nice to see audio and language settings! Good work!

Loopin'Space by Stracker 2020-10-06T22:55:25Z

The audio and art work super nice together. Some music would have really sold the whole thing. Interesting game mechanic. I mostly just stayed in the center and tried to get a few ships with one rocket. I get why moving while your missile is traveling would have been more difficult to implement but that would have been fun!! Especially since then you could try to get even more ships while you the missile tries to correct its path to get back to you. Good job!

Track Day by Remzo 2020-10-06T22:33:23Z

That timer cracked me up. Good work! Some wacky music could add a lot to the MOOD :P

Loopy Orbits by Ziamor 2020-10-06T22:39:57Z

I think that the vibe of this game carried me quite a ways. Even when I couldn't quite figure out how the orbit was effected by the planet positions, I still felt interested in poking around. Nice music, sound, and art. Great vibes.

It's The Leash I Can Do by hemlocksoames 2020-10-07T17:29:17Z

@stracker Thanks for playing!! Did you ever bark with "E" or "Spacebar"? If you do it close to people, they run and scatter. That's a good way to get them away from an obstacle and grab them. :D

It's The Leash I Can Do by hemlocksoames 2020-10-12T14:32:05Z

@elysiagriffin Thanks for playing!!

Light footsteps after the rain by Chocolat-Endive 2020-10-07T16:25:14Z

Easily my favorite submission I've played so far on this LD. The music, photography, generated people, and ai voices came together so well. Putting the player in a mood and then asking them to participate is also a really nice touch. Great work! Keep doing you. Also, who did the music? I loved it.

Meth'a Loop by TeiNRee 2020-10-06T20:26:49Z

Reminded me of old newgrounds games with the edgy drug use and running from the cops. Not sure I love the concept, but I absolutely dig the music and art style. The mood was definitely HIGH with this one.

Raildle by DrSomma 2020-10-06T13:40:07Z

Nice music! Good work doing everything yourself!

Super Platypus Drifter by ricargoes 2020-10-06T20:19:21Z

Adding StarFox like characters and dialogue definitely gave this game a leg up from some of the similar space games I've seen on this jam. I liked orbiting to save fuel. Didn't get very far!!

Orbital Hostage by Meek Bits 2020-10-06T13:34:53Z

Orbit physics are a super nice touch. I found it to be challenging enough to keep replaying to try to beat it. Nice job!!

Punpkin Loops by FreddyTurbina 2020-10-05T19:41:12Z

Cuuute. Love the weird spider pumpkin thing. Fun music and Halloween vibe.

In The Loop by Luc-creationallabs 2020-10-10T14:59:13Z

Really good. The only gameplay criticism I have is that the segments where you have to reenter the circle multiple times to move forward was way more tedious than fun and felt like it slowed down my interest in continuing to play. I think it was much stronger when it was combinations of jumps and obstacles rather than repeat entry bits. The game is so well polished that it also makes me wish the music/sound was just as polished. The Tibetan Singing Bowl would have been stronger if each circle had its own frequency so that the sound was a bit more adaptive to play. That being said, the game is already super well polished and the audio that is there does enough to not detract from the game. Awesome job!!!

Cycloop by Erlioniel 2020-10-10T15:07:37Z

Super polished visual aesthetic. I would have loved to hear the same polish in the audio to really sell it all. Some light electrical purring when moving, maybe tweaking the jump sound to have a bit more reverb, and adding light atmospheric music would have done a lot! That being said, this was a super great effort even if it wasn't your first attempt at a project of this scope. Keep doing your thing!!

Addicted by Kortimaso 2020-10-06T14:47:16Z

I love the "Why is this so short" button. Good for you for sticking with it and pushing through your obstacles and releasing a game!!

Legacy Looper by BellringerQuinn 2020-10-08T21:01:53Z

Nice game! The art and sound work really well together except for the green collectable sfx. It being dry took it out of the reverb space that was consistent in the rest of the sfx and music. Otherwise I thought it all worked really well.

LD41 — Combine 2 Incompatible Genres

Dark Soil by Pietro Ferrantelli 2018-04-28T15:23:45Z

Wow. Very good game. Everything about it was super well done.

Speeddating by PiotrMi 2018-04-25T16:38:14Z

Definitely the funniest use of the theme that I've seen so far. I love the road signs, too. Great job!

Rap 'N Reel by rilem 2018-05-03T21:44:35Z

Very nice! Perfectly executed in every way!

Roulette Knight by Finlal 2018-05-02T15:52:01Z

Wow! Great game. Awesome visuals. I'd love to hear some music change when interacting with the gun, both loading and firing. But obviously it's a jam! The gameplay is addicting and the art is super well done! <3

Crystal Library by Goplite 2018-04-28T15:17:32Z

I really enjoyed this. Sufficiently creeped me out with the sound, music, and that super freaky librarian. I like the world that you created. Very original but also felt like it could be related to the Hellraiser world. :P Very nice game!

Felocity by Adam Wallberg 2018-04-25T16:21:52Z

Very nice! Love the style of everything and it's fun!

Dangerous Gold by Kensou 2018-04-25T14:08:10Z

The sound and music was very simple but effective which is great! Fun game.

MULLIGUN by those-30-ninjas 2018-04-30T18:16:17Z

@MarkoPoloDev I tried to break up the form of the music so that the loop didn't get annoying. I am so excited to see your comment about that! I didn't have time to make more than 3 minutes of music, so I had to try to get that right. Thanks for including that bit. Made my day!

Platform Hero by Rombus 2018-04-28T16:03:25Z

I really liked this! I think they rhythm part of the game would be better if the example was followed by a few beats and then the "test" part comes in, in time. Right now, a beat is established and then when the "test" section comes in, it restarts the rhythm. Either way, that's a pretty small issue for a jam game! Nice Job!

YOU LEFT ME. by Angela He 2018-05-10T16:22:20Z

Incredible! Keep it up!

My first day in the agency by mapedorr 2018-05-01T16:41:34Z

I think this was really well done! The visual style worked well, and I love how your use of the theme really brought out the humor of a stealth based game when you consider the hunger and bladder control of a sleuth. :spy: :P

Red Shirt Engineer by Noxbuds 2018-04-25T13:49:12Z

It was a little bit confusing to figure out how to connect the wires at first, but once I got going it was fun and stressful! :P nice!

Crux Swarm by MarkoPoloDev 2018-04-30T18:22:54Z

Very nice job on the atmosphere, graphics, and music!!

Holding Aces: The Card Game Shoot-em-Up! by NerdyTea 2018-04-25T14:16:44Z

Nice! I would have loved to hear a chiptune version of The Entertainer but you can't ask for everything out of a jam! :P

The King of The Hill by Alex13 2018-04-25T15:21:10Z

I think figuring out how to control the zombie and that awkwardness is most of the fun. Nice job.

Mojojo by ZakAmana 2018-04-25T16:51:17Z

Definitely one of the most cohesive games I've played in the jam. Love the simplicity and how it often added to the humor. Like throwing money at clothes and dancing for the fun of it. <3 very cute.

Fast & Food by lwt1231234 2018-04-25T15:03:24Z
