I really love the art style of the game. The music (especially when you fail) is great. Though I will say that I was very confused as to how to select the correct button for each person or if that is even how the game works. I was initally thinking that it had to do with either the color of the character or the color of their text. But some character had green text which didn't match any buttons so I ended up guessing a lot and hoping I was right. Either way I really enjoyed the aesthetic of this game.

Nice art style and you gotta use your brain to make it. If you are already about to do so forget the following - you can get a lot more attention to your game if you use a preview screen :)

liked messing up and dropping them out the elevator , cool music. you did very well

What a cool idea! I started out doing well but then towards the end I was missing every single one. I jumped every time even though I new it was coming! great game!

This was a pleasant surprise!! I like how the tone remained a bit quirky and light until the first time you get one wrong and it actually managed to be quite unsettling. It's difficult to pull of that type of tone shift ala Twin Peaks, but I think you managed it! Fun music. Great jam! I like that you managed to do compelling story/game loop and thought about every aspect that adds up to a full game experience. A lot of people won't balance them all in a jam so congrats on that.

I though the artstyle was weird at the start, but quickly fell in love with it! I love that every character has a distinct font: the little details like that make it very polished!

That jumpscare though >:(((

Got a gameover once, got it on the second try. Manages to create quite the atmosphere! Can't figure out where the witch wants to go still...

Good game! Never riding an elevator again!

Great little game. I love the art and the music, they set the mood very well. The idea for the game was really different, which I liked. I had a bit of a problem deciding what parts of the characters or their dialogue were clues, so I guessed for a number of them, but I really liked the stress of making a decision in a short time with spotty information. Thank you for for a fun time. Can the game end in a not quite so...final way?

Nice game!

Interesting little game but to be honest I had no idea what I was doing the entire time :D lol

inanimatecarbonrod 2020-10-10 17:47

that was.. ominous

Surreal is a good descriptor. I like the weird character designs. A couple of the puzzles I still don't get but the game was beatable for me. Nice game!

mcovert 2020-10-10 17:57

Man these have to be the worst elevator customers ever; won't even tell you where they want to go? Pretty interesting concept, but definitely got to a point where I'd clicked through all of the npc's dialog and had no idea where they were supposed to go.

So far this is the game of the whole jam I enjoyed the most, some hints were a bit too subtle i'd say but otherwise loved it!

craig-cordeiro 2020-10-10 21:06

I feel like I missed the point and fed a whole lot of innocent people to the void.

blue-pin-studio 2020-10-11 01:28

It was an ok submission, i was very confused the whole time. The only guy that survived was the guy who told me "RED" everyone else died. I think the hints were way too subtle. I didnt even know there was hints until the developer of the game told me in twitch chat

This was a weird, but really interesting game that will stick with me. Really enjoyed the dialogue puzzles, and there are still a couple that I have no idea how to solve. Managed to get to the end with no more sacrifices/chances left on my second try, but think I'll head back into it to try and solve those couple that I just can't seem to understand.

Also, the void monster really surprised me, but in a good way. Got really dark, really fast.

Great work!

Really awesome concept with the puzzles being clever as well. Difficulty of the riddles was good as well but there are still a couple I don't know the answer to after playing twice so I could find out what happens after I kill a few too many aha. The nice graphics and simple animation kept it interesting as well without it just being a plain text game. The build of the unknown monster really built a nice moody atmosphere gradually which contrasted nicely with the humour. The fear of the unknown really drives you... Awesome entry! Well done!

moddingmachine 2020-10-26 12:50

I don't know how you did it but you made pushing buttons and listening to people complain very interesting! I also liked the subtle story as well. Great Job!

jam373 2020-10-27 15:44

This is excellent, really fully formed and polished, wouldn't have even guessed it were a jam game. Love the Papers, Please style structure and the assortment of monsters were all wonderfully designed.

Music was great. Really mysterious. In fact thanks to the sound design I had quite the jumpscare the first time someone got snatched. That entire "endgame" character is very eerie and disturbing.

Riddles were really interesting. Deviously simple. Though I must say it took 3 tries before I finished it so there is a fair challenge too.

Only nitpick would be that I'd have loved to have seen some kind of ending for our sunburnt friend, he's quite the character!
