Very addicting and fun to play! It's fairly challenging, which is good, and it has a nice soundtrack. Very interesting concept of a one room ship. Great entry!

Very addicting and fun to play! It's fairly challenging, which is good, and it has a nice soundtrack. Very interesting concept of a one room ship. Great entry!
Fun and intense! Gets really difficult as well
Great entry! Reminds me of Nuclear Throne and Super Crate Box, but it plays very nicely. The music gets old after some time, but the gameplay is really solid.
Hey everyone, thanks for playing and commenting! Just to clarify a few things, you can shoot in 8 directions by moving diagonally. The menu buttons being hidden was intentional, but looking back it did make things a bit confusing. The boss fight at the end is based on a timer, if you survive long enough, you'll be taken to a victory screen. I hope you guys enjoyed, we had a great time making it. - Barrett
Pretty good idea. I didn't find it really that challenging but it was a nice brain teaser game.
Interesting idea!
Pretty fun to play, was a little confusing at first however.
Good atmosphere, it may have been a better idea to make this a point and click game. The audio and graphics are good at setting the mood, just too little gameplay.
Nice first entry. Some music and possibly a tutorial would be appreciated, but overall good job.
Control probably wasn't the best button for shooting, considering it exits out of your browser when you press W and can mess up a lot of things. The game eventually got to a point where I would instantly fall to the bottom of the screen and die. With some reworking of the keys I think this could be a great entry.
Controls were a little confusing, other than that a nice entry.
The atmosphere in this is great, thanks to the music and visuals. I did try to play this multiple times because some glitch or bug stopped things from happening, however I couldn't figure out what to do when I hit a certain point.
Great idea, took me a while to figure out. The overall puzzle wasn't too hard, however I didn't collect all the notes. In the end good work!
Lots of fun, pretty cool idea to have blobs connect to one another - I had issues with hitting blobs that close to the bottom of the screen rather than the intended target, but that only made the game more difficult and fun, great work
Amazing work, good art, great music and sound effects. There's nothing that comes to mind that needs changed. Had a lot of fun with this one, nice job!
Very fun entry, and yet really stressful. I got to day 3 and I kept accidentally throwing toys away so I gave up. Very solid entry.
Overall it was a very relaxing experience. It would've been nice to have some vermin running around destroying stuff while you try to catch it or something breaking things.
Felt a little floaty to play and it's a little exploitable, overall pretty entertaining.
Very nice entry, it's a pretty tricky puzzle, and a little stressful. My only advice is add time where the player can peacefully modify their ship, other than that good job!
Pretty challenging, easy to grasp, fun to play. Good entry!
A solid runner game. Controls were a bit floaty, but I got used to it the more I played. The only other complaint I had was that the music was bit high pitched and screechy. Not a major issue since I could mute it, but something to consider for future projects. Great job!
Loved the humor and style! A few of the choices could be more meaningful, and sometimes I went for long stretches without having anything happen, but the endings made up for all that. Graphics and music were great, overall just a nice entry. Keep up the good work!
Very interesting idea, loved the intro and voice overs! The game was a little on the easy side, and the acceleration of the earth was a bit much and caused a little bit of frustration. Nice job though.
Very interesting idea. The puzzles weren't too difficult or easy, just right. My only complaint is that it takes too long to wait for the perfect situation that you want to test and that it takes too long to reassign work places. Maybe there should be more days off. Other than that, good job!
Graphics and the ambiance is great, I did run into a problem while playing though. Each time it was supposed to move to the next day after day three it just stayed on day three, it also seemed the difficulty did not increase so I assumed it was just a bug. What I got to play though was pretty solid, just a few minor things to consider. When you pick up ingredients to move them, sometimes they get caught on something and you can't pick them up. This wouldn't be such a problem if they didn't block other ingredients, so I'd have to wait for it to despawn before I could use the ingredients behind it. Another thing was that there seemed to be no penalty for giving the wrong potion or taking too long, maybe that's because I was stuck on day three but it would be nice if you would make the customer leave instead of just waiting and paying less money. Another idea you should use is that every day the alchemist must buy more ingredients, almost like a papers, please system. it would add more risk and tension to the game and make it more difficult. These are just ideas, but I say them because this game has great potential and I'd love to see it morph into something great, it's up to you though. Overall a great entry, nice work!
Got to the top 25! This game is really hard, but in a good way. The graphics and atmosphere are perfect for the feel you're going for, and the gameplay is tight and responsive. The few things I didn't like are the view range, and how shooting tended to lag the game a bit. Other than that you've got a really solid entry here. Great work!
Great idea, it was a nice little puzzle to complete. It was a bit short, but because of its randomness, it has a lot of replay-ability. Very nice idea, would be interesting to see what you could expand on it. Perhaps instead of dots showing distance you showed a world globe that would only pinpoint your location to help visualize where you're going. Great work!
Interesting idea, the platforming aspects of the game are good, my only gripe is the delay on swinging your weapon. You have to wait until the perfect moment because its range is so short and there is a delay on the weapon. I couldn't get very far without being frustrated, but if you fix this I'm sure the it will be much improved. I'll definitely give it another spin if you fix this.
Managed to beat the game, very impressed with this. At first it seemed to be a simple platformer, but the audio and the mechanic to turn enemies good where very nuanced and fresh. Overall the game play was just right and the difficulty too. I too also liked the piano notes from jumping, and throughout the audio effects and music were very well done. I'd love to see more of this game if you want to add to it, but as it stands it's a solid entry.
Great job! A nice reaction time game with a twist! I'm not very good at the game, so I couldn't get very far. I enjoyed playing it though, and that's what's important. The music and sound was nice too.
Great game! Controls are great, difficulty isn't too hard, and the premise is unique. The graphics are nicely polished and the music is too, my only complaint is that some of the shoppers tend to cluster to create giant death walls that can cost you the game sometimes. Very nice entry!
Interesting idea for a small world. Would like to see it more fleshed out with perhaps some sound or music.
The game has a nice aesthetic graphically and the music is nice as well. This game is really hard, but in a good way. I can never get very far, but what I've played has been great. Great work!
I would agree that music would be nice, and there are some minor things to fix. First is the jumping, it seems like you limited where the player is allowed to jump, which is fine, but the problem is that you can't change direction well when jumping, so it becomes frustrating trying to recover from a bad jump and falling all the way back to the bottom. I liked the idea of switching between the different bugs and the level design was good, just some minor platforming issues. Nice job!
Loved the idea and visual style. The platforming was a bit floaty and uncontrollable at points. The player also moved a little too quick, which might have escalated the problem. Overall nice entry!
@kcreanor @clegamecoop thank you both so much for your feedback! @kcreanor We had a great time making it and we're thinking about spinning it into a full-scale project over the summer :-) @clegamecoop I'm glad you enjoyed the art style! Sorry you encountered a problem, could you explain further what happened on that level? If it's an issue with the software I'd really appreciate any info so I can fix it.
Game had a great atmosphere and story, I love games like this where the plot loops forever. Reminds me a little of Moirai. Great job here, would love to see more puzzles and more things on the gameplay side. Great job!
Very nice game, a little on the shorter side. it would be interesting to see what you could expand off this, very interesting and unique idea!
I agree that it is too short, perhaps an entire mansion or a small house would add some depth to the area. The puzzles were interesting though, the items actually made sense for their purpose. Would love to see some expansion on this idea, what you have here is a great start. Nice entry!
The concept is for this is really great. The pixel-art and audio are great, and set the mood perfectly for the game. It took me a while to figure out what I was doing but I enjoyed it even when I was confused. Great job here!
It's a great idea, however I believe it needed more time. It looks like you spent a lot of time on the cut scenes and ran out of time for making the game. The opening village looks great, but the room lacks detail. It would be great to see a post-jam version, since the idea you have is their. All it needs is a little more content. Nice work though.
Great entry, the art style is great along with the music and gameplay. It was really fun to play, an awesome twist on rhythm games. Really loved the premise of a kaiju playing basketball destroying cities. Really great entry, the only thing I have to say is I want more! It would be great if you would add more kaijus and more levels. Nice job!
Did manage to win, a fun little idea and a nice tribute to a friend. I would suggest adding more of a punishment for getting caught other than being moved to a corner. It also needs some other mechanic to it other than just clicking, maybe power ups or troll-streaks? Nice job on your entry.
Graphics and music were impressive. A little to be desired in the gameplay department, but everything else made up for it. Nice entry, keep up the good work!
Made it to the end, the story is good and the idea is there, it just needs a little more. Perhaps some backgrounds of the ship or space and some ambient music would help add a lot of depth to it. You've got a great start here, it just needs a little more. Nice work.
Very interesting idea, I like the 2 player support and all the unlockable mushrooms you can get. It was a bit confusing at first, but once I got the hang of it it was really fun to play. Graphics and audio were nice too. Great entry!
Wow what a great entry! The music and premise are really soothing and it's so easy to pour hours into the game. The combinations are pretty well thought out, and discovering a new plant was always a rush of joy. The game feeds off of your natural curiosity to discover by showing you what you could get and giving hints that are seemingly straight-forward, but the execution is more complicated. It's always satisfying to find a new plant. The music also perfectly emphasizes all these points (I know you didn't make the music, but your selection was perfect). This is quite possibly the best game I've judged so far, and I plan to play more in the coming days to unlock all the plants. Really nice entry, the only thing I would ask for is more.
Loved how you used your own engine for this. Overall it was pretty solid, the only complaint I have is that there should be an option to cancel a cake throw, but maybe that's part of the challenge. Would love to see more levels and possibly items as powerups. Music and graphics were great too, nice work!
I really enjoyed the graphics and general aesthetic of the game. I'd say the weakest aspect was the controls, but this didn't take away too much from it overall. It's a pretty short and simple game but it fits the theme very well and the idea is really creative. Great submission, keep it up!
Nice game, really loved the retro feel. The platforming was just right and the music was great. My only complaints are that it was too easy, and that the sound effects for enemies dying was dragged out a bit, a shorter version would be a little less annoying. It was also cool how you used the environment as special hiding places for chests/items. Very solid entry, nice job!
Really liked the idea. Screen was a bit small which made it hard to see the puzzles, but the concept is really interesting. Great work!
It was actually enjoyable when I figure out how to play. An interesting idea, albeit an incomplete one. Hopefully you can finish this, it would be interesting to see what direction you took with it, nice job.
Fun little runner, really love the different level types and the fast paced gameplay. Graphics were nice and I loved how the destructible environment added points. Great entry!
+1 for Cthulhu, pretty entertaining game, it's essentially a timed mad lib. The situations were amusing and the art style only added to that. I'm terrible at this so I always lose, but enjoyable nonetheless. Good work here!
Very fun entry, I got up to 5050 for my best score. Movement and bullet speed were perfect and the enemy spawn rate is just right too, along with the boss spawn rate. Very nice entry, great job!
Neat idea, it was fun to play around with for a bit but it lacks substance. Nice entry though.
This is quite a unique twist on Pong. The idea of not only controlling the paddles but the balls too is pretty well done. It's a bit overwhelming at first, but once all the mechanics are realized it becomes pretty simple to play. Well done!
Really like the aesthetic, but the fundamental puzzles left a little more to be desired. The idea is great, but it should be more than just a memorization puzzle with a pattern, maybe walk around the office and find the letters then assemble them in order? I did like the ending though, overall a pretty solid entry.
Loved the concept. It was really relaxing to just mess around with the different shapes and see what tunes could be created. The puzzle elements were unique, I just wish there was more. Would be interesting if you expanded on this with different keys and puzzles. Nice job here!
Simple and fun, nice entry. The only complaints I have are that it's a little floaty and has a lack of instructions. Nice work though.
A very fun and nuanced take on arena shooters. I loved the idea of a virus fighting medicine in a host and mutating to become more powerful and fight the medicine. The difficulty was just right, the only complaint I have is that absorbing should probably be automatic. It creates situations where you almost have to lose a life to grow stronger. Music and graphics were great, overall a great entry. Nice work!
Played until Day 9, couldn't figure out the password (maybe I'm just dumb), but what I played seemed to building up to a great ending. All the subtle hints of change and all the events that would happen really brought in the mood. Nice work!
Haven't beat it yet, I got really close however but died. Great entry though, really enjoyed the premise and the art style. The music was really nice too, really ambient and calming. I will try to beat this some other time. But for now, just know you have a great entry here.
Very confusing to play, the salt mechanic doesn't work very well. Graphics and music were nice however.
I also had the issue of getting stuck in walls. Great entry, graphics remind me of Felix Colgrave's style. Great atmosphere and music too! The only complaints I have are that it's too short and the last jump is nearly impossible. The controls were a little delayed and stiff, it was very difficult to turn direction mid air. Otherwise great job, hope you expand on this, it has a lot of potential!
This seems incomplete, the idea and mechanics are here, it just needs more content. It would be interesting to see where you take this. Nice entry.
Great idea! Really loved cultivating my own colony of bacteria. The music was good, if not a little repetitive. The visuals were nice and I loved how you made it look like everything is happening through a microscope. Great work!
An intriguing concept, graphics and the gameplay was nice. The controls were a bit awkward, mostly having to click and drag to move anywhere. Audio and atmosphere were great too. Overall this had a nice amount of playtime, and was just a great entry. Nice work!
A very polished and simple idea. It takes a while to get used to, especially on pc, but after that it's a great little app. My only qualm is that the goal of the game is to avoid the particles, but whenever you hit them it doesn't seem that have any consequences. Maybe it's a glitch or it's intentional, but there should be more of a reason not to hit them. Other than that the music was nice and it had a very polished feel to it, nice work!
Jumping still doesn't seem to work, which rendered some sections unplayable unfortunately. It was hard to see the battery on the player's back and understand what was happening. I understand this was done in 12 hours, but it would be great to have a post-jam version to play so you could flesh out your vision.
Very creative idea for the theme! The jam version had a few bugs so I couldn't finish it but I did solve a few of the puzzles. Loved the graphical style. Keep up the good work!
@vasco-rodrigues @sonicgrey @nuthen @logicon211 @lobsterblues @raaaahman @ikiste3d @jandoka @earthexe
Thank you all so much for your feedback! I added in a tutorial at the beginning of the game and I've updated the HELP menu which I think makes the idea of the game a bit more understandable. Let us know if you have anymore comments, thanks! - Barrett
@valphera Glad you enjoyed it!! Thanks for your time
@rothens91 Whoops! You're absolutely right, I forgot to enable it **during the tutorial**. Thanks for catching that, I went ahead and patched that!
-Barrett
Loved the retro feel and graphics. Very unique idea, it's already very fun to play. I would love to see a post jam version of this, perhaps with random events and some more resource management. never had the chance to declare war, the game wouldn't let me even when the conditions seemed right. Great start, would love to see more!
Really enjoy the use of the increasing grain and static with the decreasing power! very nice controls and general feel. It's a little open-ended and there's not much of a goal besides staying alive but for the time you had it's still a solid entry!
Cool idea, however I think the game is a little slow. Combat takes a long time to do. I liked the graphical style and the game play other than the combat. Nice work, hope you expand on it!
Played both the jam and post-jam version, nice work! Really loved the art style and music in both. It seemed a little lacking in content for the jam version, but the post-jam had a lot of fun stuff. Loved the idea of consuming platforms for energy (jellyfish). Level design could be a bit better, there were too many leap of faith sections. Other than that loved everything else! Keep up the good work! I hope you finish this project, would love to play through it.
I love the idea, the creation process reminds me of kerbal space program. Graphics were nice and the launching was fun. Flight was a bit awkward, but I got used to it. Would love to see a post-jam version of this, the idea is fascinating and I'm sure it would be a great game if given the love it deserves. Great work!
Very nice music and graphics. Got to 6700 some points. Loved the idea of a vampire and the concept of running around as a vampire killing townsfolk while avoiding monks. Solid entry, nice work!
Loved the ambiance and mood, a little to be desired gameplay wise. The idea is really interesting however and I love how the character looks. I just wish you could see him in the maze rather than a light. Great work!
I love the look, sound, and feel of this game! Very old school, which I'm a sucker for. I liked how health and ammo were both tied into the general power variable. If I had to criticize I would only say that the opening is a bit long and the lack of a variable jump (releasing before reaching full jump height lets you stop moving up) makes the platforming a little difficult. Regardless really solid entry, keep it up! -Barrett
Very polished and focused. Such a simple concept, but yet so addicting. The sound effects on this are perfect, and make the experience of collecting so much more satisfying. I was very impressed with how fluid everything was. Would love to see a post-jam version of this, with some updated graphics and even better physics. You have a great start here!
Took me a while to get used to the controls, but after I did I enjoyed my time playing. It would be interesting to see how you would continue this idea, keep up the good work!
Really impressive game, especially for being developed by hand in visual studio! I love the unique concept and the simplistic graphics. Although the was only a small story it fit the game very well and made it that much better. Great work, hope to see you in more jams to come! -Barrett
Very interesting concept, loved the plot and the animations/graphics for the characters and UI. It would be really cool to see what you expand upon if you choose to continue this. Great work!
Was a bit laggy for me, but still enjoyable. Loved the concept and the game play. The UI and scoreboard polish was very impressive, as well as the graphics in general. Great work!
Really impressive! Had a lot of fun with this one! Couldn't beat it but I got 6/7 of the platforms activated. I think the turrets could be a little more effective, maybe they lose charge every few shots and the lower the charge the slower it shoots. Overall nice work though.
Music and idea was nice, I wasn't able to beat the game but I think I can guess what the narrative was. I think it would be a good idea to have the platforms fade in and out instead of just disappearing and reappearing. Also this game could benefit from some checkpoints. Great work so far!
I had a little bit of trouble getting it started, didn't seem to work for me in HTML5 but the windows version worked! The shooting feels very satisfying and I like the tree graphics. The idea and the theme didn't exactly pop, but overall you made a pretty fun game, especially for your first time! Good luck! -Barrett
Really unique idea! Gameplay was fun and the soundtrack was great. I think I ran into some sort of glitch that prevented me from moving any troops or selecting them, but what I did get to play was great! Would love to see an expansion on this.
I like the idea you have here! It's an interesting take on the theme that's very addicting. I agree that fatigue could be made more of a danger, but I think you could fix it by increasing the rate at which people ask for items. This would make it more frantic, right now it's more soothing than stressful. i think you've got a great start here, I hope you work on this more!
Interesting concept! Gameplay felt tight and responsive. Overall it was a lot of fun to play. Sometimes enemies seemed to get stuck on each other which made it easier to kill them but that's just a minor thing. Nice work!
I like the concept that you have here! The whole warping onto a planet and fighting aliens idea is very cool. I felt that the gameplay was very tight and responsive and everything was very well made. The graphics were very colorful and interesting, which helped distract me from the illusion of playing in only one level haha. I think you might've went a little overboard with the bass in some of the sound effects but overall those were nice too. Overall good job (even if you didn't make the deadline, which is perfectly fine imo).
Who knew that lobotomizing your grandmother could be so entertaining! The game is very well polished and unique, your take on the theme is very interesting! The graphics are great along with the gameplay. I would say though that the music was a tad annoying sometimes, but overall I don't think it affected the experience that much. Great work!
I love what you've done with the theme here! The visuals and atmosphere are amazing in this, along with the world building you've managed to create. I was able to barely beat the game on my first try, but I loved the strategy that went into planning my actions. I think you've got the perfect balance of randomness and strategy in this to make it really interesting and fun to play. Everything was great, nice work! I hope you expand on this!
Great visuals and use of the theme! The platforming felt a little floaty (but I think that's what you were going for which is fine) and the camera made it difficult to see where I was landing sometimes. Also the effects became a little overbearing sometimes, having to mash q every few seconds disrupted the flow quite a lot. Other than that it's a great idea though, I hope you work on it more in the future!
I love this idea! graphics are nice and simplistic, story is hilarious along with the upgrades (quite fond of katana chicken). I would say though that jumping feels a little floaty and combat is a little clunky (maybe clucky?) as well. Overall though I love this entry, great work!
This a very unique idea! I like the graphical style you had going and the gameplay was very interesting and creative. i like the premise of growing flowers with your life in order to get more and fighting waves of enemies while you wait for them to grow. Nice entry!
Wow, what a detailed entry! I didn't quite grasp every mechanic at first, but while I played I started realizing all the different interlocking gameplay elements. I love how subtly but clearly these mechanics are explained just through playing! everything is very well polished here, great work!
I like your take on the theme for this! I think you've got a great start for an interesting TD game. The music got a little annoying sometimes because of how short it was, but other than that I really enjoyed this. Great Work!
This is a nice puzzle/card game! I love the graphics and atmosphere you've created here. I think you should show the next card/few cards as well, it would help with planning. Overall nice work though!
Your take on the theme is very cool! I love the idea of revealing details about someone's life in order to continue in the game. I got to level 11 but I wish there was an ending that I could've reached maybe at 10. It's hard to find enough rabbits to tell secrets to. The art style is great though and I enjoyed playing it, great work!
Very unique (to say the least haha) entry. I love the polygon style of graphics you have here. I think the music gets a little repetitive after a while though, it sounds like a very small sample. I would try to incorporate more keys into the game to make it a little more difficult. Overall I think you have a good start to something very special here, keep up the good work!
Ended playing through the whole game, really fun to play! I love the amount of strategic freedom you were able to incorporate for the player. it made it really addicting to try out different unit combos and formations. Overall I thought the gameplay was great except how when placing units, it automatically switches between classes. It was annoying sometimes to be placing zombies then suddenly skeleton archers messing up my formation. This is pretty minor though, great work!
I think what you have here is pretty solid. Movement felt really satisfying and your take on the theme was interesting! It's a good starting point, I hope you continue to work on it and flesh it out. Great work so far!
Very cool entry, I love to play/make games like this! Made me think back to a lot of old GameMaker games from the early 2000's, I don't know if you drew inspiration from those games but it certainly seems like it. I loved the graphics that you had, I'm very fond of hand-drawn crude graphics like this. My only suggestions would be to take off the GameMaker water mark at the start (it's under global game settings in the windows tab) and maybe cut the music or have more ominous tracks when the player is losing body parts. Overall nice work though, I hope you make more stuff like this in the future!
I love the idea you have here on the theme! Trees = Life = Currency, very clever! Overall it's a great idea, I wish some of the buildings would help gather trees (maybe a lumber yard or something). Spinning the planet is a little sensitive I think but I really enjoyed the interaction between buildings and trees in the oxygen system. Nice work!
Love the idea here! Everything is really solid overall and very enjoyable. The only thing I'd say is maybe try to incorporate some music into the game, I think that would really help it. I don't really have any critiques other than that though, great job!
This is a pretty solid game you've got! I loved the enemy and some of the level design too. Movement felt a little clunky, I would recommend having the player move instantly when a directional key is pressed. It seems like you have a slight delay for when you press a key. I would also suggest you add directional shooting (kinda of like Contra maybe) so that shooting the enemies will be easier. The graphics were really nice and you've got a killer soundtrack to back it all up. Great work!
Sucks that you ran out of time, it's a really cool idea! The graphics were great and it was quite fun to fly around shooting enemies. I think for future LDs you should try to scale back the ambition of your projects. It seems like you had a lot planned for this and that prevented you from getting farther. I would've just focused on the battery mechanics and not the shield crystal or the computer chips, since they have the most noticeable effect on gameplay. Really cool idea though, hope you work on it more!
Great idea, I feel like you've got a very interesting world here! I don't really have much to critique except maybe make a tutorial on how to play, it was a bit confusing at first. Nice entry, I hope you expand on it more!
Really cool interpretation of the theme! I love your take on the Oregon trail formula, focusing more on the philosophical consequences of your actions. I did one run without taking any of the man's deals and one where I took them all just to see what would happen. I think this game could use some ambiance or music to really heighten what you have here. Great work!
This is a really cool concept! I like the idea of using blood as a platform to jump around and reusing it etc. I think you could give the player a little leeway with how much blood they're given or how much the portal needs. It's really difficult to perfectly get all of your blood back. Really like the idea though, I hope you continue with this outside the jam!
A nice little puzzle platformer, good work!
Really fun to play! Very reminiscent of oldschool arcade and atari games, and I love the use of momentum. The only gripe I have is that having the cursor locked so close to the player makes aiming somewhat irritating. Regardless, really great entry, I would love to play a full version of this some day.
Cool idea, nice work!
Awesome atmosphere and execution. I feel like this has a lot of potential and I think you should work on it more! The premise was unique and enjoyed the radar aspect with the windows. Great work!
I really like the sprite work on this as well as the concept. Nice entry!
What a great entry! The art style looks great and is very impressive. Gameplay and sounds were great along with the music which was subtle. I really liked your take on the theme as well. Awesome job!
Graphics look great and I like the number of enemies you have, good work!
Cute and fun, nice work!
What a great submission, well done! The music, graphics and theme were all excellent. I loved how deep the mechanics were for throwing the wasps, so many little details that work so well! My only critique would be the control scheme. I personally like WASD based controls (and that is the current norm for pc), so an option for them would've been nice. Other than that great work!
I really dug the PS1 style graphics and music! Seems like the original idea was very ambitious, it might be a good idea to create the gameplay first and then move on to making the more cinematic aspects. Remember you can always add story and lore after the jam (since there are no categories for these haha). I'd be interested to see you work on this more and get closer to your original vision, nice job!
Wow, this is excellent! I love the depth of the sticks and how they're used so many ways. That and combined with the song aspect make a super interesting gameplay combination. I would love to see this as a fully fledged project, excellent work!
Interesting idea, I like where you went with the theme! Graphics look great and the gameplay was fun, good job!
Nice entry!
Impressive! Graphics and music are great and the gameplay was fun as well. Awesome entry!
Fun and frantic, the cannon will never get old to use. Great entry!
So peaceful yet so not haha! Really loved the graphics and music. The vine mechanic was super cool and I liked how the worlds were randomized. Great entry!
Very amusing and surprisingly difficult (or maybe I'm just dumb haha), nice work!
Very impressive simulator, and definitely topical! Hope to see more from you.
Really liked the style you went for here. Great job!
A fun, well made entry. Nice work! I didn't have any problems with the HTML5 build.
Cool aesthetic, nice entry!
Interesting idea, I think I might have carpal tunnel now haha! Good work!
Nice little entry. Graphics were good and the controls were tight, good work!
Interesting idea! The graphics were great and the beginning dialogue was quite entertaining. It took me a little bit to figure out what to do, but other than that nice work!
I don't even know what to say!(?) Impressive for a group of people that have no prior game design experience. Nice work!
Very entertaining and an interesting idea. I liked how you thought outside of the box (the spare parts box perhaps?) for Keep IT alive. Nice entry!
This is one of the most addicting entries I've played yet! The aesthetic is super unique and sharp and the frantic pace is very enjoyable. Plus the fact that you made this in GameMaker is sweet! The farthest I could get was around 75 seconds. Awesome work!
Fun entry! The concept was pretty amusing and the gameplay as well! I personally didn't have too much trouble dodging the birds, however the branches were another story. Maybe some kind of warning system for both would be a good idea. Other than that nice work!
A fun little entry! Loved the gameplay and your take on the theme! The graphics and music were great too. Good work!
Really creative entry! Loved the art style and sound. The puzzles were really well put together and I liked how some of them fit together in an almost domino effect. Nice work!
Great entry! The art is great and I loved the design of the enemies, so unique! I was skeptical of the controls when I first read them but I think they actually work quite nicely. One thing I wish the game had was some sort of reticle for aiming, either just something on the mouse to help stand out against the snow or a vector that points to where the player is aiming. Other than that keep up the good work!
I love the concept behind this, very creative use of the theme! The only critique I have is that the physics got really wonky whenever I was hit by a police car. Other than that I really liked your entry, great work!
Loved this. I've been playing your entries since the Giving Thing and I'm really enjoying seeing how your style is evolving. I think there definitely might be some La La Land influence (old GameMaker game series) with the idea of lots of little minigames and the atmosphere/surrealness. I personally love those games and yours definitely remind me of them a lot (check'em out if you haven't played)! I hope you continue to work on your project you mentioned, I'm really intrigued to see what you can do with more time than just 6ish days. Keep up the great work!
Also I would definitely be interested in talking about your games or even potentially collaborating on a project in the future. You can see my personal stuff here (https://curtis-lacey.itch.io/).
Hahaha glad you remember! Burden? Nah. Here's my twitter (https://twitter.com/curtislacey01) if you wanna follow it and DM for my email or whatever (I would give an email or something initially but uhhhhhh this is public lol). Huh now that I look at it, it does resemble Ant Head hahaha (assuming what you're referencing). Cheers!
Nice entry! Managed to beat the game and enjoyed it quite a bit! I really liked the music and the detail of the sprite work. The only critique I would have is that the final boss was a bit easy to cheese even though the concept was super interesting. Overall good work!
What a great idea! There is a TON of potential for this entry and I really hope you continue with it! I loved how the loop moved through the level and wasn't just something stationary. I could see this becoming a dungeon crawler where you're confined in the loop as it guides you along. One thought I had while playing it was that it would be super cool if you could see silhouettes of the enemies in the darkness. They don't have to be killable, but it would help the player prepare for what is coming and also add a lot of tension. Hope you continue working on this, excellent job!
Excellent graphics and mood! I was a little confused on how the light switch puzzles worked but other than that everything was great. Nice entry!
Really liked the hint system you had and the moment where he falls off the cliff and dies caught me off guard! Nice entry!
Love the idea, the spritework was great and the attention to detail was impressive. Nice entry!
Loved the graphics and music, the two guys on the side were very entertaining as well! I liked how the color palette for the walls/ground were the same as the scientist thingies, really liked that attention to detail. Great work!
Fun entry! The sound was great and the gameplay worked well too. Wish the player and the enemies moved a bit faster overall. I got got really unlucky several times when the potions respawned and couldn't make it to more than one multiple times. Other than that great work!
Very interesting concept! I think this has a lot of potential if you want to keep working on it in the future. I can just imagine having 20 different things to do all scattered around the house with the player rushing around! Good work!
The platforming was a bit floaty at the start but I got used to it quick enough. Really unique entry with a lot of depth! Great work!
This is super challenging but in a good way! I like that a lot of thought seemed to go into the mechanics and the puzzles and the graphics were very well done. The music and atmosphere as a whole was great as well. I think a simpler tutorial would be beneficial, it took me a very long time to figure out. Great entry thought!
What a wholesome entry :). I like how even if you fail you can still get the "good ending". As someone who is very involved in music it really bothered me that the arrows didn't align with the beats of the waltz haha! I think there's a lot of potential here for you to expand on this idea, maybe prolong it to multiple dances and have a whole slew of choices! And with that it would be great if you wrote your own music for it so you could line up the arrows/beats to really bring this to the next level. The art style was excellent and I loved the atmosphere that came with it. Great work and great entry! Hope you consider expanding on this in the future!
Nice entry! I liked how the levels changed in theme throughout. Initially I thought this game was going to be the first level but with a different theme with new obstacles for each (Icicles or maybe a the zombie guy is frozen etc). The flamethrower turning into a snowthrower(?) kinda toys with that idea. Since it's your first jam it would be cool to see you guys expand on it and release a post jam version. Good work though! Excited to see if you expand on it in the future!
Great concept and fun gameplay! I kinda wish that the gun would auto shoot when the player holds down left click but other than that nice work!
