Great game, had a blast playing it, at first it looked super easy but the last two rooms were super intense they had me clicking like crazy.

Great game, had a blast playing it, at first it looked super easy but the last two rooms were super intense they had me clicking like crazy.
Awesome game! Really well polished and nicely balanced, with excellent graphics too. I love the power-charging mini game and how it becomes more challenging over time. Frantically dashing between different tasks was really fun. Works really well on touch screen too; could make a great mobile game with a few tweaks (reminds me a bit of Space Team in terms of how frantic it is). Well done!
Game's really polished, both graphically and technically. The graphics look really cute and finished and the audio makes the game's atmosphere good.
I do feel the difficulty ramps up a bit too quickly. After 3 rooms it started to feel that I was gonna click my pointer finger into retirement. The dynamo mechanic makes it fun and really tense when you try to balance between killing those damn squids and making sure you have enough energy.
This game is really addicting!
I like the game design, you constantly have to do stuff and that's pretty hard to achieve.
Graphics & sounds are awesome.
Only downside i see in this game is a little bit "forced" tutorial? But that's just my preference, i like to learn by experimenting and i think it could have been achieved in this game.
good job!
Nice complete game ! You made a really nice game, difficulty is quite good, graphics are nice, sound and music did the job and the theme are completely respected
I feel pain in my finger knuckles after 10 minutes of playing :) First, I tried charging the grids along with shooting aliens, but then it occured that you may ignore their presence as long as you manage to charge all the grids. Liked the looks and colours on the preview. It's a pity there's no music, 'cos that is the reason the game lacks its mood, I guess. It would have been much funnier to play if there was some energetic fast-speed music background. There seems to be a tiny bug in mac version (if it's not the game plan). When you charge the turret and press space, you can see aliens being shot through the dynamo interface.
Really polished game with great pixel art. Music and sound effects are fitting the mood of the game. It was a bit tiring but fun to play. The idea is cool, unique and matches the theme well. I didn't find any bugs which is suprising for a Ludum Dare game.
I completed the game at first try, here you can see my score: http://puu.sh/wYRQq/8692370b3c.png
Love the graphics in this one. The gameplay was a little tough on my mouse hand after a while, but it was a good level of micromanagement. The audio is nice and atmospheric (but I can't rate that) -- but if I had to change anything, I'd make it so that the player wouldn't have to go through the tutorial again if they die. Good work overall!
Great job with the game, I love the graphics.
I finished it in 303 seconds, it was fairly easy because I play a lot of clickers. One thing that was not entirely ok was that I got the tutorial after I played the game once (I pressed the replay button in-game). Except that it's a really well-made nice game.
First of all, the spritework in this game was beautiful.
I had some issues understanding the mechanics of the game initially. In particular I don't think there's any part of the tutorial that explains that you need to charge the power core by clicking it, and that the guns can only be charged after the power core is at 100%. I think it would have made sense to explain both of these things before opening up access to the other rooms.
I found the minigame where you have to play with the control panel in order to bring your power back up was fun and tactile. The difficulty ramped up a little too quickly for my clicking-ability, 5 rooms up was my maximum. Perhaps it was semi-intentional for the aliens to become unmaintainable around that time, and the last stretch of the game is just supposed to be a mad dash to power the last few cores. I'm not sure.
I didn't realize until after playing that I could use the keyboard instead of my mouse to bring my power up. I think I would have enjoyed that more, less RSI that way. :) Perhaps that should have either been explained in the tutorial, or made apparent by the design of the control panel? (You could have labelled the buttons 1, 2, 3, the axis could have had WASD, etc.)
Nice game, clickers aren't usually my thing but I thought this one had enough going on to be enjoyable for me!
Thank you for the feedback everyone! I'm glad you like the game :)
The game has been updated so that it doesn't require as much painful clicking anymore, to streamline the game a little, and fix some bugs. - The power grids and turrets are now charged by clicking and holding instead of simply clicking on them a lot. - Evolved enemy health was reduced. - Game balanced tweaks to allow enemies to spawn more but (hopefully) without the game becoming too challenging. - The tutorial can now be skipped. - The alien gibs can no longer be seen through the dynamo interface.
The new version is labeled as (Post Jam) on the download page, and the original is still available as well. A more complete patch notes list can be found on the download page.
210 seconds here (jam version), this probably the most fun game I've played this whole LD. At first I thought "oh I'm just going to burn through this game in no time" but the power drain rate + the Bop-It style minigames made it super frantic near the end. It was awesome, I didn't think a clicker game could be that good. The graphics and UI are top notch, but I still have to commend the gameplay for taking it this far. I had to throw my hands back and forth to hit spacebar and then back to mouse to mash quickly (I use 2 hands for that). Superb job!
Good god, what a game! I know it was said before, but the graphics are just stunning. The gameplay on itself was addicting as hell, and the later tweaks just made it better and more friendly (before that, I was kinda tempted to launch autoclick for the most intense sections). In the end, somehow I found myself wanting more of this game, both in pure length and variety.
One of the best game I have played during this ludum dare. Original and inspiring! Good work :)
Very nice game! Had a lot of fun playing it. The art style and animation are really good. Congratulations!
Oh man my fingers hurt after that. I loved how the game got progressively more insane, but never seemed to be completely impossible. The different ways to restore power were great, and made things even more hectic. My one suggestion would be to make incorrect presses / rotations / movements on the power panel cost energy at higher levels ;)
Lovely graphics, fun game! I included it in my Ludum Dare 39 compilation video series, if you’d like to take a look :) https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=EIFo4JBAdvc
Wow.! That was impressive! I don't know how you did it but it went from a super calm game to super panicky without seeming impossible to do. Add that to the awesome art style, the music, sound effects, and ease of menus bouncing back and forth, this is easily one of the top games that I have played this LD. Keep up the great work!! :)
Really impressive! Had a lot of fun with this one! Couldn't beat it but I got 6/7 of the platforms activated. I think the turrets could be a little more effective, maybe they lose charge every few shots and the lower the charge the slower it shoots. Overall nice work though.
I survived! This was awesome all around, I think this would make an awesome mobile game. My mouse clicking finger is exhausted.
Very nice graphics and music! I love the mood and of course the cute aliens too. It cost me some time to understand how to interact with the ground cells and the mechanic about the box with the wires. I think that a visual improvement of the dialog boxes of the tutorial could reduce the friction with the player. Nice game anyway!
