Mammoth Monkey Mole by ehtd 2014-08-29T23:54:00
A good example of a simple mechanic done well. No fancy super powers on the characters but still very well done puzzle game.

A good example of a simple mechanic done well. No fancy super powers on the characters but still very well done puzzle game.
Very very nice retro shooter. The visuals are unbelievable and the gameplay is super slick and polished.
Slick controls and a fun simple idea, I feel the radius around where you see stuff could've been slightly larger but that might be just me being bad :D
I really don't like the meme spouting, but the game itself is absolute blast! The controls are super slick and the music is great!
Too high pitched audio, had to turn the music off too. Controls feels slick and tight and the idea is fun though.
Enragingly enjoyable :D The feedback when you hit the wall is so great
Very enjoyable light strategy! Out of all games now, I probably spent longest with this one so far.
Love the game mechanic. The simplicity of graphics makes the mechanic work well because you can only focus on it, allows for a bit more difficulty. Good job!
Wow, caught me off guard with those visuals and audio! Great job, although I got lost a lot!
Very interesting concept with quite nice execution. Sound effects were a bit too loud and there was so much of them all the time that it overloaded me a bit.
The graphics and the world map are amazing! A bit simple in the mechanics, still very solid game.
Very relaxing experience! A bit too much empty space in my opinion, still a nice entry where you could dive in for a while :)
Interesting take on the theme. The controls were quite slick, although I would've hoped for a bit faster mouse movement. Puzzles were quite self explanatory but it was fun to play with the mechanic you had there.
Very odd idea, I think I finished it? :D
We watched your stream on twitch! Good job :)
Art and sounds are amazing, the game is very polished. However I'd like the timer to be a bit more forgiving because right now the game just feels like waiting for the portal and running to the portal, not so much about strategy with the weapons and such.
Funny game, I liked the graphics a lot. The basic gameplay mechanic is very simple but come on, the game is adorable!
Loved the graphics and the sound, especially the tune in the beginning. The attack could have had a bit more feedback though. All-in-all a solid effort.
Really nice and snappy punching sound, good background music creates a good mood to the whole game. Graphical quality is also good, maybe needs bit more work on the animations. Also the dark background colors get a bit repetitive after a while but they do fit the theme of the game. Overall I enjoyed the game. Well done!
Idea and art are fantastic, the map was a bit too large for me. Or did I just choose a poor direction? :D Anyways, a lot of potential in this I feel
The best background music so far, nice atmospheric aesthetic. The screen is a bit too dark though, at first the blinking mines were hard to see which was pretty frustrating. Also the barbed wire death I thought was a bug at first because there was no feedback. Generally though, atmospheric experience, good job!
I absolutely loved the music. The graphics were fine, gameplay was slick, although very generic platformer stuff. The was very straightforward platformer but with good execution which is always good.
Really fun idea! I had a blast with this.
Smooth and polished, nice looking puzzler. For me, this screams mobile. Would be an ideal game for a bus or a train ride.
I love the community interaction, the graphics and the simple gameplay. Don't let the trolls get you down!
Wow super addicting. Calming music just tops the whole thing! I would've wished for a little bit more responsive controls on the HTML5 version. Very solid puzzle game still.
Very smooth and polished. Enjoyed very much, although the guessing where the walls were got a bit annoying especially in the longer levels.
Looks and sounds cool. Interesting entry altogether!
I absolutely love the aesthetic and the sounds. The animation is so cool. The music plays well into the mysterious atmosphere of the game. Otherwise it's a nice idea but I did find the gameplay to be a bit tedious, still good job!
The idea and graphics are nice! Controls are a bit clunky :(
The difficulty and the graphics style remind me of old roguelikes like NetHack and Angband, which is of course a bonus. The enemies fire very quickly after they see you and I found it quite difficult to deal with.
Oh my, this must be my favorite entry so far. The graphics, music, gameplay, everything spot-on. I'll be playing this a bit more now actually!
Interesting control mechanic, simple game but well executed!
It's a fun way to spend some time, very nice art on the interface and funny writing. A very good use of the theme as well, good job!
Graphics are really beautiful and the animation on the roll is one of the smoothest I've seen. Shame it doesn't actually work, would've loved to play this a bit further.
Nice mashup between FNAF and some sort of a tower defence even. The actual gameplay could have had more stuff to do than just lock the door and kill everyone. Still, concept is cool.
Very addicting game, good graphics and a nice fresh idea on tower defense genre. Enjoyed my time with this one.
Looks pretty smooth and the gameplay is entertaining. I don't have anything negative to say about this. Good job!
The way to change the direction of your shots was interesting and a bit tricky to learn at first but it's a clever way of adding a bit of challenge to a relatively simple concept. What can I say, it's a shooter that controls well and looks and sounds alright too. Good job!
Oh man the multiplayer aspect is great. Gameplay itself isn't very complex but the art is great and the atmosphere is done well too.
Haha very addictive game, I would've wanted to see some kind of a leveling up-thing here but in any case very fun!
This game obviously looks absolutely amazing, and the level of polish on the gameplay and controls is astonishing. The gameplay itself is simple but well executed. Attacking the enemies sounds and feels good, a thing that's rare to see in these jam games. Very impressed altogether.
Polished graphics and gameplay but the difficulty level could've ramped up a bit quicker
Really funny idea, made me laugh and I really enjoyed your game!
I couldn't really understand what to do. The UI looks slick but there could've been a bit more introduction to the mechanics and what to do.
Such a great concept and pretty well executed. Very minimalist in all senses but solid idea and a fun game.
Nice idea with the expanding maps, the graphics were quite nice and unique. The weapons could've had a bit more oomph in their sound effects.
Interesting, it's basically one simple mechanic done very well, and I like that. Sounds are good, the game plays well, good job altogether.
I would've liked a bit more feedback on the damage you make and take. Now it was quite ambiguous as to when I hurt the enemy and when they hurt me. The attacking system was a cool change to the usual and the graphics were nice!
@Ryusui, thanks for the feedback and the info, that bug is now fixed.
Thank you very much for the feedback everyone, the problem with the crosshair has been fixed now! You should be able to shoot all those nasty little animals in the head now too!
@5k0d thank you for the feedback and report on the bug! The pistol being unbalanced is known to us, we didn't have time to implement a better upgrade system :)
Whoa this is difficult. The music and aesthetic fit together well though, I just never got very far to enjoy them further.
It reminds me of a simple tamagotchi, kind of. It looks and sounds nice but the gameplay is really barebones. I would've liked maybe different foods to grow them in a different way or something. Still I always have a soft spot in my heart for games like this :)
The atmosphere of the game was very well crafter but the gameplay was quite boring to be honest. I would've wished a leveling system of some sort, and a bit of enemy variety would be nice. The roguelike type of stuff is always entertaining though.
Looks very smooth and the gameplay feels polished. It just gets a bit boring after a while.
I loved the graphics and the gameplay concept. Needs a bit balancing with upgrade costs.
Surprisingly addicting for such a simple game! The flashlight works perfectly here and the sounds are good, especially the pistol sound feels like there's some oomph to it.
A fun twist on the resource management genre, it doesn't have a lot of challenge currently but the idea is worth developing.
The only strategy I know in this game is spamming spamming spamming the attack and that didn't get me very far :D Nice visuals, good audio, everything is in order here.
Jeez the sound of that bug makes me shiver. Funny little game, I had fun with this!
The controls are really hard to grasp. Maybe that's intended but I didn't find them to be very enjoyable. Graphics were clear and the repairing system was pretty cool. Would've wished for a small upgrade system or something on the ship though.
Those illuminati guys are too quick I can't hit them goddammit
Oh my I didn't think this would scare me and it did. Good job on that! The gameplay itself is quite boring but that's sort of a good thing with games like this.
This was excellent, very good atmosphere with the graphics and the music. The drawing mechanic was also very nice. Not a lot of bad to say about this one, there were a couple of bugs that got me stuck inside the walls but they didn't ruin the experience.
I like the minimalistic aesthetic from the music to the graphics. The gameplay is very simplistic, I would've wanted a bit more dialogue to fully justify it but still, this was a nice snack, so to speak.
Nice game, I like the pickups and especially some of the sound effects and juice that comes with them. Sound-wise this game is top-notch, gameplay is also fun. AI seems to have a bit of a problem following the ball sometimes but that's only a minor complaint because I like winning :D
Very innovative concept, graphically also very well done. I managed to surround the enemy with my guys so I destroyed him quite easily. Could be an idea worth developing further.
Good job with finishing your game! I think the shooting control for the monk being enter is a bit weird cause it's not very natural. Also, the jumping controls feel a bit difficult to control. The game itself works well and is fun though :)
Really fun! It actually feels really rewarding to move 1 meter. lol
Ooooh my arm. Managed to save the "hero" though (lousiest hero I've seen)! That sword animation was very well done and it worked very smoothly, I didn't notice any bad hitboxes or anything. Simplistic gameplay well done is what I like, good job. The music played also very well into the dark-ish atmosphere.
Very nicely crafted game for a jam game. Controls very well, maybe would've wished a bit more feedback on the hits. Also the damage indication text isn't always clear, I can't really tell who is taking the damage at all times. But all in all a solid package that I enjoyed.
This is cool, there's a lot of text put into this one. One criticism I have is sometimes the conversations get tangled and the dialogue makes no sense but I guess that's part of the charm!
Fun narrative but there's not much game in here unfortunately (I wanted Frank to pull out a gun and start a rampage at the office in the end :(). I enjoyed the dialogue a great deal though and the music was good. With some work this could become very interesting as you have a good concept with good characters.
Wow this was really clever, and just the right difficulty for my brain melted by modern games :D I liked the graphics and the sounds that really created a cool atmosphere. One thing I got stuck on was the match(?) thing, I tried to combine the cannon with the match and it didn't work. I have to say, very very good take on the theme!
Everyone knows killing (mutant) children is the best way to spend your past time and this game offers a ton of that so it's fantastic
Funny idea, it's fun to play, although probably best suited for shorter play sessions. The light effect is very good way to make the game gradually more difficult. Also liked the shooting sound!
Concept is absolutely great, good job on that. The gameplay itself is quite boring at the moment, the wait time is just too long on the skills and it left me a bit frustrated. But I definitely see the value in the concept and with some extra work it could be a blast!
Oh dear I commented on the wrong I played, so disregard the part about the wait time on skills! Otherwise the review stands as it is!
Looks very much like those older PS1 N64 titles that I love so an instant nostalgia bomb there. Like the level design a lot and how the game plays. The character slides around slightly too much but gladly the game doesn't require incredible accuracy. Good job with this one!
Excellent mood and aesthetic. Loved the harrowing feeling in the game. Stylish all around.
For a sort of a prototype, this shows a lot of potential. The graphics and animations make it look like a game already. Would just need to add some deeper mechanics into it and it'd be a pretty fine game.
Argh if the hit detection in the stabbing worked better it would be a great puzzle game. Right now I found myself cursing more often than not. The graphics are great and the gameplay itself has a lot of potential, just work on that stabbing thing and you'll have a very nice game there.
Very impressed with the polish on display here, even the tutorial screens look like they've had a lot of work put on them. Nice take on the theme, and as someone already said, would work very well on a mobile device. Impressive!
This was cool, the setting is quite.. interesting :D The controls on the web player didn't feel super responsive but they worked well enough. Had fun with this!
Oh my, this is a funny entry. Very innovative gameplay and funny graphics. Excellent job! Also I'm was way too rude for everyone and sucked at selling ice cream..
Very interesting concept and gameplay, pretty graphics. This is quite extreme resource management, quite difficult to actually gain health.
Haha caught me off guard with the little twist there. Was gonna give you a bad score for the theme but changed my mind with that :D
I really liked the strategy here. First I tried just waiting for them when hiding but then realized the tentacle goes as far as I want. Very cool mechanic. Played it through and enjoyed a lot!
The combat is surprisingly nicely done, reminds me of DotA and LoL in a way that you need to move after attacking. Graphics are quite basic, although I must give credit for animating the characters. Well done!
I love the graphics and the audio! The difficulty makes me rip out my hair, but that's not necessarily a bad thing.
Disturbing, atmospheric and gorgeous. The gameplay is secondary to the mood here but the mood and atmosphere is very well crafted. The search mechanism is a good one to have because otherwise the game could be frustrating, but I feel it's a bit too powerful. At least I would've liked searching for the pray a bit longer each time. Still excellent job!
It looks super adorable and plays pretty well, the jump could have felt a bit heavier though, right now it feels a bit too airy. Otherwise the controls were quite slick and good.
Very nice look and feel in this game. The mechanic reminds me of Kirby and the difficulty is frustratingly fantastic. Just a very very solid entry in all ways.
Loved the story parts, they reminded me of Phoenix Wright games. I wished the cases would've been more problem solving and less fighting as I think the fighting was the weakest part of the game. Loved the atmosphere, story and graphics though. Good job!
Love the juiciness here, the sound effects also sound nice and crunchy. Solid shooter altogether!
Nice RTS where you don't need to concentrate so much on building anything, good for me in that sense. Simple but enjoyable. I think the camera movement could be a bit better, sometimes ordering troops somewhere also moves the camera if you're not very precise.
Does feel satisfying when you splat the cubes, even though the idea is very simple. It's like popping bubble wrap. Had some frame issues with it, might be because of the WebGL player?
Very nice take on the theme and interesting mechanic. Levels got progressively harder which was nice design also. Well done!
This was a lot of fun, sad that it ended so soon! Liked the clarity in the graphics, was easy to see what was happening at all times. Escaping from the poke balls (or whatever they are called here) was quite easy but I thank you for it, otherwise I would've never completed this one :D
Overall a very polished game, nice work!
Love the concept and the aesthetic of the game. The atmosphere really makes you feel like there's little to no hope. The strategy itself feels slightly shallow but still enjoyable. Definitely enjoyed this one!
Nice, unique take on the theme! The reactions in the end were a nice touch. I would've maybe liked a bit more angel options after playing through both ways but I guess more monster options fits the theme well!
The multiple uses for the weapon is a nice touch to this platformer to separate it from many. Had slight problems with the sliding of the character after landing, which made precise jumps difficult.
Thanks everyone for the feedback! The alert mechanism works in a bit of a wonky way.
It's a nice idea and pretty entertaining, however the controls are a bit too difficult. I think the mouse sensitivity is too high and swinging the hammer isn't as effective as just wiggling the character left and right.
Haha this game was excellent! The art is gorgeous and the sounds fit the theme very well. I especially liked the talking gibberish. The idea is very fun and well executed. Great job!
It's cute little story, the graphical quality is top notch but there isn't much gameplay involved. Still a nice glimpse back to childhood.
Fun idea, looks very slick and clear on the graphical side. The gameplay itself offers quite little though but it's good to have different kinds of games like this too.
It's got the great aesthetic and the difficulty of an old school arcade game for sure! Good job with that! The enemies are super fast to react you coming out the woods though and I found that a bit frustrating at times, but it might just be me not understanding all the mechanics correctly.
It's a pretty good shooter, the colorful, almost childish graphics mixed with the disturbing theme makes an interesting combination. The bullets travel in a bit of an odd way, being so slow. Also the sounds are slightly silly.
Very slick in terms of graphics and gameplay. The audio also sounds very natural in the game. Good job!
It looks gorgeous and plays pretty well too. The beaming is quite tricky, especially the part where you need to avoid killing them! Good work!
Very challenging game with an interesting graphical style. Liked the mood that the graphics and the audio brought to the game. The hitboxes in the obstacles were a bit off at times I feel and it felt slightly frustrating. Still had a good experience with this one!
Very fun game from a simple concept. The clunky movement of the character makes this game better! Sometimes was hard to know where the wolf was and so it caught you by surprise but overall great game.
Here is a good example of how even simple mechanics can make for a very enjoyable game when accompanied with the right amount of juice and ramping difficulty. I had a blast playing this game, so much that I had to switch hands to spam the space bar :D Also the real monster aspect comes in after you die and see all the people you killed. Stellar job man!
Aesthetically probably the best looking game I've seen in the jam so far. Love how everything looks and sounds.. for the most part. I think the little bopping sound while walking gets a bit annoying long term. Combat is basic, I found myself missing a lot of arrows because the camera sometimes suddenly zooms back while your aiming.
The atmosphere is fantastic, the background music coupled with the graphics makes it a very nice experience. Enjoyed a lot!
Love the style of the game. Although the gameplay is basically very simple, you need to be quite careful in assessing if you can take on those soldiers, as they are quite strong. Well done!
Shooting the beam feels really powerful, all it was missing was a bit of sound effects. Like the hand drawn graphics, even if they're a bit rough. You made a simple idea into an enjoyable game, good job!
I don't know if psychedelic is the right word here but it was the first one that came to my mind after completing it. I'm still quite speechless after that flying monkey.
Like the simple aesthetic of the game, it worked well with the game mechanics and made it feel clean and easy to understand. The audio was very nice, although at times felt somehow too grand against the simplistic style of the game.
The visuals and the music make it very mysterious, liked that. I was a dummy and completed every level just by making the dudes eat each other and got a monster ending oh no.
Good job with the graphics and the level design here. I had a bit of issue with the controls, as the jumping feels a bit airy and weird. Generally though, quite a good game, was fun while it lasted!
This is incredible, very well executed idea, everything clicks! Excellent job!
Cool use of the mask mechanic with the boss, would've liked to seen some more use of that, maybe different sort of attacks or something. Overall enjoyable, solid game!
Visually it's quite amazing, the light effects and the bloom look really nice against the relatively dark map. Controls well, shoots well, difficulty quite high, it looks and feels polished so all seems to be in order here. Good job!
The mechanic itself is quite simple but the quick movement of the characters makes this game quite a rampage when both are trying to stomp each other. The graphics need a bit of work and I would've wished a bit more feedback on the stomp to make it seem more powerful but overall I enjoyed this.
The movement of the dragon is super smooth and feels really nice to control. The actual gameplay is quite simplistic but the controls and the epic music make it feel much more fun that it might have otherwise. I had a lot of fun playing this entry, good job!
Fun idea well executed. Great use of the theme too! I found it quite difficult, would've liked for the tourists to spend a bit more time grabbing their cameras before taking a photo.
The graphics look real nice. It's a solid runner type of game, nothing groundbreakingly new but nothing wrong with it either.
Wow that's pretty intense. The screaming of the dudes is actually pretty disturbing. Liked the atmosphere of the game, the gameplay didn't offer much but I still had a good time playing.
Fun little game, the graphics are nice and the background music fits the game very well. Sometimes I got a bit stuck in the walls with the monster form of the fire dude but it's just a small minus. Solid game.
This was fun, very simple in principle but well executed. The graphics look nice and fit the light hearted theme well. Good job!
Love the graphics, the dynamic camera and the smooth gameplay generally. I had to play a couple times before realizing that there were a couple skills to use, but always returned to the one that's the default. Also a little bit more feedback on the abilities (screen shake etc) would've made them feel more powerful.
Generally an impressive effort though, good job!
Like the simplicity of the graphics and as a shmup this is pretty good. However I think the ship should be a bit quicker because at times it's practically impossible to avoid getting hit.
The game is incredibly addictive, although I'm terrible at it! The sounds were maybe a tad off, being slightly weird to my ear. All in all, surprisingly addictive and very enjoyable game.
Some good writing there, didn't feel like a chore to read this. Well done!
I love the serene atmosphere and the children's book-esque graphics. It's such a calming experience even with the harpoons. The gameplay did get a bit repetitive in the end but I enjoyed the game a lot still.
The fighting was more enjoyable than I expected it to be, although there could've been a bit more variety with the enemies. The fighting with the music and graphics gave it a sort of double dragon vibe.
The strategy involved in killing the teens in order made this game very interesting and gave it a bit of nice strategy. To help with the random movement, I would've wanted to maybe see some sort of tricks (making noises etc) to alert some of the teens to different rooms. Overall very enjoyable!
Amazing art, excellent sound, fun game. It's a very cool, well polished package. Was impossible to look at any of the zombies though, especially later on when there were a lot of coins flying at my way. All in all a very solid entry.
It's quite.. magnificent. I think the pressing felt slightly delayed or laggy but who cares. It's magnificent.
Very cool, difficulty is just right and doesn't make the game feel frustrating. The mechanics are clear and "snappy", everything works as it should. Very solid all around!
I loved the art and the music playing on the background. The gloom and hopelessness created by the letters and the music made the mood very good. However for me the gameplay wasn't very interesting in itself, and while the letters from the kids were well written and even touching, I didn't feel any connection to the dying kids because they were just numbers on the screen. Still an atmospheric experience which made me want to see a bit more complex version of this!
What an adorable game, loved the music and how it fit the rest of the game especially! Swinging the sword felt pretty good but I feel you could have juiced it up still a bit more with some sound effects. The controls were frustrating at times but you had a good solution to the two button problem. Good job all around!
The level is nicely designed, it's clear to see you put a lot of effort into the puzzle/labyrinth. I personally like slower pace with puzzle games like this so I found this more frustrating than fun. Still, gotta give you props for the design even if it's not my piece of cake!
Great to see another card game here, very interesting take on it too! The level of polish on the animations and effects was great, the graphics were clear and the cards were easy to read. I was a bit confused about some aspects of how the turn progressed in the beginning but it became clear as the game went on. Good, polished work, well done!
Such an interesting combination of two different types of games, I liked that a lot. I think the traffic cop part was a bit too difficult cause some of the drivers basically ignored the red light.
Charming and slightly addictive. However, I feel the clicker aspect goes a bit to waste because when you increase the effect of your shouts it's very easy to keep the customers full at most times. I think a little bit slower build-up would have worked better here.
Very beautiful visuals and audio. Would definitely need two players to fully enjoy the game. The gameplay itself was very simple and a bit boring in the end. Still enjoyed the serene surroundings and sounds.
A nice story, a bit sappy but that's the nature of this sort of stories so I'll take it. I don't know what to think about the choices in the game. In one case they're a nice and mysterious way to influence the game, on the other hand kind of frustrating when you have to guess what happens. Would've loved to have some music in it too!
A very classic platformer-puzzler, made me remember a lot of classic games. The pacing and ramping of the difficulty was done well also. The audio and graphics need a bit of work, although the backgrounds were pretty. Also, there wasn't anything that really would separate it from the old platformers, I would have liked to see something innovative too!
It's devilishly hard but in a way that doesn't make you just give up but makes you want to get better. Very well done in that aspect. The controls feel very snappy and good and the graphics are also pretty. Special mention for the excellent sounds, the background music is so good.
I liked the idea a lot and the character switching was a nice implementation as well. I felt that the game got super cluttered and too much obstacles were just popping up as you gathered more band members and progressed. Would have wished for a bit slower pace especially to support the strategy behind character switching. Graphics were nice and clear and the sound design was good as well. Good job!
I found it fun and a tad frustrating. Also the double press is a great way to extend the two button restraint. The movement felt a bit too airy for my taste, I feel the jumps were hard to time but otherwise was fun playing it.
Once you get to the flow this game feels so great to play. The controls are nice and responsive and I think the difficulty ramps up very nicely. The boost up feels slightly overpowered. Considering you had to restart the project once, this is quite excellent. Good job!
The concept is a good one. I feel the biggest problem here was the slowish pace of the game. With more powerups and quicker movement this could have been very fun and enjoyable. I think with little fixes you can make this into a very fun experience!
Was a nice game, the basic mechanics work well and auto aiming was a nice idea to use with such limited controls. I would have wished for it to get harder a bit by bit, I thought the game was a bit too easy. Also sometimes the random generation made me hit a thing without an option to dodge (X-box on top and plane under).
The comboing is much fun but I wish I could see around a bit more, camera zooming out when flying would be a great addition here. The store system was a nice extra and gave some replayability. Sometimes was frustrating when enemies got so close that it became impossible to hit them. I also had a problem with the background music, I think it didn't fit the game at all and kind of made me annoyed by the repetition. The game was much fun to play, which is the most important thing. Well done!
The way the game teaches you all the mechanics is excellent. I found myself feeling pretty smart every time I solved a puzzle and really dumb every time I didn't understand it at first, that's a good thing! Picking up the puzzle elements could have been instant, I didn't see any reason for there to be a wait. All in all a very well designed puzzler, good job!
Uu it's so hard, the controls are fun but definitely need a couple tries to get a grasp on. Also looks really pretty. I didn't get very far in the game because the difficulty was quite high.
Fun to play, the aliens have funny voices and the art is also pretty nice. I would suggest changing the projectile color into something much more visible, especially when it flies so fast. Also the screen shake during the laser, even though very cool, hides the projectiles completely and they become impossible to dodge.
The graphics are excellent and the audio work is good too. The running is a bit inaccurate and I felt I was just sliding around when running. A fun game in any case, enjoyed my time.
I really like the aesthetic on display here, delightfully minimalistic and clear. The puzzles are bit unclear especially when you're starting out and I found that the minigames I just guessed by pressing all the buttons. It's a cool concept with a pretty good execution and I think there's a lot of potential for development here!
A couple clever things you did with the puzzles, sometimes I found myself stuck but luckily the puzzles were short enough to not make it frustrating so good job with that. The graphical quality doesn't bother me but the colors should be a bit less saturated, I felt it was quite taxing on the eyes to play it. The button system works for mobile but for the PC I would have liked keyboard controls!
Loved the audio, you had made it blend in very nicely there. Was hard to figure out how to actually control the lander, for a long time I was just floating and spinning around. As a mood piece it was nice listening to the radio com though!
Very fun and innovative, though the difficulty ramps up veeery quickly. Love the minimalistic look and found myself retrying multiple times, good job!
The concept is great, and the game uses it quite well. It is quite easy right now, I found myself winning most rounds by just placing spheres quite randomly around. The presentation could be a bit more exciting maybe but this board game type of way works too, especially with the calm music.
Short but sweet, good writing and sound design. Also liked the graphics. I understand it's a jam game but I would have liked a bit more actual interaction to make it feel like anything I did actually mattered. As a story it's wonderful and I definitely got interested in the universe.
This is so cool. The indirect control of the villagers and the building strategy is so interesting to me. The aesthetic is fantastic also, would be even better with some sound. One of the best games I've played this jam.
The dialogue is funny and the gameplay is simple but fun. I'd like to see more feedback from the game. Right now it was hard to tell when I took damage and the axe feeling a bit underwhelming made me a bit sad. Still good job with it, it's fun to play!
It looks and sounds very beautiful and that's definitely it's strong point. I felt the gameplay was shallow, but as an experience it's still very atmospheric.
Takes a bit of time to get used to the controls and the hitboxes but when it gets faster and you feel at ease with the controls it's a lot of fun. I maybe would have still preferred that the character simply followed the mouse, it's still an interesting control scheme.
Fun and atmospheric, even if I knew nothing of the backstory. Felt like an abandoned laboratory or something so that was cool. Also a nice take on tower defence! I'd maybe wanna see a bit more oomph in the guns, the sounds were good but some other effects would make them feel even more powerful. Also the monsters were a tad too loud. A solid effort still!
I liked the aesthetic and the unconventional setting. Good use of the theme too. It was a bit unclear as to how much passengers I got in with each push and how well I was doing at times though, so a bit more feedback with that would have been great.
Haha this was fun, liked the random weapons to use and the general chaos of the game. Not the most original idea or fitting the theme but whatever, was fun to play still.
Sounds good, which I guess was the main objective here. The background song getting more intense as the game gets faster was a good way to make it seem even faster. It's relatively simple on the gameplay side and I wish the surroundings would adapt a bit to the player collecting those song bubbles.
The mood is great, the gritty graphics and tension building music along with the plot really create a good atmosphere. I would've wanted a bit of real choice, not just guessing the right answer to every part.
Very pretty audiovisually. The accurate and responsive controls are a must have for a game like this. The puzzles were nicely crafted, although somewhat dull at some points. Good job!
Liked the intro graphics and the dialogue was funny. The controls were responsive and easy to understand. Some slight complaints I had were with the hitboxes from the missiles, they seemed a bit irrationally big or small at times. Also I got hit multiple times because a pile of garbage appeared in front of me while a missile was falling on me. Generally speaking it was pretty fun so good job!
You're here for a good cause friend. The game itself is a pretty standard endless runner (well in this case not so endless), everything works in that area but I would have liked to see something new too.
It's a very cool concept and a unique idea. The game could do with a bit more variety with enemies and units. Definitely has potential though!
Ouch
No objectives obviously, but made me flinch with every teeth pulled out so good job with that!
Graphics are really nice and the shooting looks nice but the gameplay itself would do with a bit more than just shooting, maybe different attack types that you could variate between.
I thought you were very clever with the two button control with this game. Great idea to combo your two buttons to make different moves. However in a fighting game like this, the controls should be so spot on accurate. Here they were hard to pull off when you were walking and it bothered me. I understand it's because of the theme, but it did hinder the gameplay a bit. Great innovation and ideas of how to use the 2 button theme still, impressed me.
The first time I tried I had to jump past the level changer thing because of a mummy and ended up running off the whole level. Maybe stopping the camera scrolling when you get to that point would make it clearer? Liked the progression, the books and mummies in the third level made it quite difficult. However, some of the books spawned so high they could never hit me, which seemed a bit pointless, unless you wanted to make it only for visual purposes.
First of all, great job finishing the game and learning Blender in 48 hours, that alone is worth an applause. The game looked nice and had a cool idea. I got the same issue of no guards spawning ( reloaded a couple times and still nothing :( ) and also had a hard time getting used to the controls.
Good job! I think it adds a nice twist to the survival gameplay with the world that you sort of build yourself. The gameplay itself feels a bit slow for my taste but I understand that it was supposed to have enemies and such and so there isn't much "action" because of it. I didn't get to craft that much but it works as it should and is definitely needed in this sort of a game. Also, is there a way to undo your actions? I ended up building quite huge mountains with misclicks on the ground :D
Love the art and the premise, the guy looks so funny with his torch. Controls are tight and responsive and the jumping feels like you know how far it'll take you which is excellent in a game of this sort. I'm not a huge fan of these sorts of games because I find the repeating nature of them boring but you made the game so solid on the controls that it never feels like it's being unfair. Congrats on that. Music I didn't like that much but it's only a small complaint. Very solid entry.
Quite a basic puzzle platformer with some nice humor as a spice. Chuckled at the little bits and pieces that broke the fourth wall. The idea of a backstage is good and makes the puzzling a little more interesting, I even think you should have used it a bit more. Right now the puzzles are a bit linear and not as interesting as they could be. Nice job guys!
Simple game, good on you for going the C++ route! I was slightly annoyed because I felt like my movement was so limited, especially the fact that when I was in the air I couldn't move left or right at all. Blocking the arrows was a fun little challenge, although some of them seemed to fly a little over my whips and hurt me :(
Whoa, at first I thought it's gonna be one of those rough around the edges sort of games but the carnage and the shaking screen and the goddamn dinosaurs made this so fun. I still don't know exactly what I was supposed to do but I just spent all my time going around stomping on stuff (and wishing I could stomp on more stuff). Good job!
Very abstract and weird, in the good sense. Loved the start of the game with the little gameboy opening. The sounds and the look, even the controls feel very old school. The gameplay itself isn't anything special, although the "matrix" sequence is done in a cool way.
Loved it! The gameplay is very simple but it's done in a way where it's not just clicking different resources or waiting for bars to go up and down, it makes you be active. That's a great thing and increases the enjoyability a lot. The graphics were simple but adorable, everything on the screen felt understandable and clear as to what their purpose was.
The difficulty was rather easy but I tend to like that in jam games more than brutal difficulty, easier to actually try out all the features and see what the game has to offer.
Enjoyed to bits playing this one. Fantastic job.
Wow, very innovative storytelling, I like the fact that there is text popping up between the text that's already on the screen, words changing when you click them, makes the story very dynamic and more interesting than just the story on itself.
I felt that the story became a little bit disjointed in some places, not sure if that was the point, I can see it working well with a little bit absurd storytelling but it was a bit hard to find the core of the story.
Some minimalistic background music could have worked excellently here, but the storytelling had a lot of strength even without audio.
The site says game's not found, I'll check back later :)
Nice effects and the map was built in a cool way. Audio and visuals worked great together and it looked like a good and complete package. Controls take a while to get used to, steering with the mouse felt slightly strange at first but it worked well with the shooting.
UI could have been a little bit more finished, I felt it was hard to tell if I was taking damage at all at some points.
Good job!
Loved it! The head was the coolest weapon I've used in any LD game ever and the fact that it didn't fly in just a straight line made it possible to be very creative with it. Also the fact that you had to collect the head from the ground was a funny addition. The graphics looked charmingly old school and the music was.. well it fit the art, although was a little bit repetitive towards the end.
Maybe the only criticism I have comes from the controls. The jumping and moving felt a little bit too slow for my liking and it made the platforming a little bit harder than it should have been maybe. Other than that, I think this was definitely one of the best games I've experienced in this Ludum Dare!
This was interesting, I haven't played a lot of traditional puzzlers like this in this LD so it was nice. The general atmosphere of the game was well crafted, the setting of the game was exciting. The puzzling was made a little bit harder by the awkwardish controls but there were some nice ideas there.
The computers were a nice touch there and I enjoyed the little jokes there, although I think there should have been only one action button. Now it was a little bit weird to start reading with a different button and proceed the text with another.
Nice looking game, the effects really make the atmosphere feel good. I think the lack of music actually fits this game. I would have hoped that the jump would've felt a tad bit faster, it felt a little bit too airy and hard to predict for a game like this now. The dash down felt really good and nice to hit, especially when you hit the enemies with it.
The difficulty ramping felt good and the level generation seemed to work very well. Enjoyed playing it, I think the simple controls would work very well on mobile.
Ugh I think I hurt my fingers doing this. It does require some patience as you can't just mash the buttons or you'll fail for sure. The graphics are super simplistic but I like them, the black and white palette reminds me of some old games. Simple game but very well done!
The three ship system was great once I realized the SUPPLY SHIP was supposed to SUPPLY and not shoot asteroids! Really thought that was innovative and fun. I would've hoped the two damage ships to have a little bit more different playstyles than what they had, I felt it was just two lives plus a healer. The audio was good, graphics were nice, certainly a solid entry here.
Very fun, the game has a really nice mechanic where it gets harder naturally when you expand your pylons, you have to gather resources from a wider area and the upkeep makes you really tense. Really liked that. Graphics are nice and crisp, everything is clear, UI is well designed and the controls work, for the most part, well. Only thing I had trouble with was "refilling" the pylons when they sometimes wouldn't accept the refill.
The sounds were probably the weakest part, the music was a little bit repetitive, albeit fit the tense atmosphere. Once you got a bunch of pylons, the mess of sounds when they shoot at the same time really made me a little bit annoyed.
It's a very nice game, well done!
As the others have noted, the sound effects are superb, really gave the game a lot of personality. The wind-up mechanic I liked also a lot, it changed the mundane platforming into something where you had to pay attention to other things than just timing your jumps.
The background music and the graphics were maybe the weaker parts here but the game was very enjoyable because of the little quirks added to the tried and tested platforming base.
It's got a bunch of great elements that a puzzle game should have. The multiple "currencies" makes it a really enjoying strategically, looking at the board and how you should approach collecting different stuff. Liked also the fact that the energy didn't go down constantly, because it gave you more time to think about your moves and not just rush through.
Also, big plus for allowing the player to continue from the same map as where they died at, too many games think it's a great difficulty element to make the player start from the beginning, I find it just annoying.
The idea is good and cute, the graphics look great and sharp, adorable game altogether. The gameplay was simple but got stale pretty quickly. The hitboxes were slightly funky at first but I got a hang of them later and pushing those squids away felt satisfying. I felt the enemy spawn rate could have been toned down a little bit, they swarmed me quite quickly to the point that it was impossible to survive.
This was pretty brutally hard, especially when I didn't realize that moving my mouse around causes me to lose power! The graphics support the theme of the game well, very industrial and grimy. Baddery is just the best name ever for an enemy that is a battery I mean jeez. It was difficult, the skills felt quite weak and the shield/recharge thing felt like I was just postponing my turmoil for a turn or two. The whole package had a good overall mood because of all the audiovisual elements coming together and bringing me that industrial feel so well.
This was an interesting mixture between a clicker game and some sort of a light economical strategy game, the combination worked nicely. I think the main game logic was clear but the UI could have been done a little bit more clearly, I feel there was too much going on on the screen. It was a fun game to try to balance money and popularity and there were nice small details with taxes(I assume) and developing regions.
It looks really great, the art style is quite unique in the world of pixel art. The music also was great and never started to feel annoying.
I feel the controls should have been a little bit more responsive for a game like this. I think for the rhythm type of a game the music should have been a little bit slower to work well with the rhythm attacks.
I like the challenging nature that the game slowly introduces and the control scheme felt very natural, D for attack and W to jump/dodge, good design there.
It's deceptively easy looking at first but the last levels already require some pathfinding skill. Refreshingly unique puzzling. The graphics look nice and cute, I wish there was a bit more to the milieu as the graphical style itself is very cool. Good job with this one.
I felt the difficulty was greatly influenced by RNG. Sometimes I got ridiculously lucky with 5 drops of energy right next to each other, sometimes none! Controls were tight and the basic game logic was easy to understand and well executed.
Graphics were basic, nothing especially bad, nothing too special, they were clear and served their purpose well. I guess I'm much worse at video games than all the earlier commentators as I got considerably lower scores :D
First of all, congrats on finishing a game, these things are HARD to do especially if you only have a weekend! The game is nice, it's basic but does all the basics pretty well. The name of the game and the fact that you collect north korea-flag hearts is great. The gameplay, while done well, could have had something a little more engaging, maybe some powerups for a glorious shield to protect the fatherland! Anyways, great job finishing this thing, hopefully we'll see you in #40 too!
Love the visuals! Great job on those, music would have made the experience even better! The sound effects bring some life though, so that's good. I feel it misses a little bit of beefiness with the shooting or getting shot not doing much of an effect at all. Some screen shake would've been pretty cool!
The controls are tight and are exactly what is needed with those very accurate jumps needed in parts of the game. Made the platforming feel nice and predictable.
All in all, enjoyable and very beautiful game, this one!
The graphics are amazing, I found myself just looking around at the map in awe. Very good job on those. The gameplay was a bit weird but interestingly done, very creative game altogether. I respect originality and this one has it.
Nailed the realistic peeing, the concentration needed is comparable to a game in Starcraft. The controls were slightly awkward in each of the segments but I guess it shows how learning anything or doing something the first time is difficult and awkward.
I had a fun time with this one, you got the humoristic aspects of growing up in the game well.
Jeez I love the level design, it's so smart. The fact that everything you do drains energy and you have freedom to decide if you fight or try to avoid all conflict. I like the death mechanic, but enemies felt really really difficult, maybe would have toned them down a little bit. Graphics are also really nice and clean.
Was a pleasure to play this!
Game's really polished, both graphically and technically. The graphics look really cute and finished and the audio makes the game's atmosphere good.
I do feel the difficulty ramps up a bit too quickly. After 3 rooms it started to feel that I was gonna click my pointer finger into retirement. The dynamo mechanic makes it fun and really tense when you try to balance between killing those damn squids and making sure you have enough energy.
Great stuff guys, very polished, very nice audio-visually, not much to complain about! Only thing I found SLIGHTLY annoying was the camera panning weirdly during jumps which made the jumping a little bit confusing. That's a very minor complaint however. AI drivers too?! Sheesh guys. Stellar job.
Congratulations on your first entry!
As an experience this game is certainly nice. Very calm mood, good job of making it feel like vast space. The ship wasn't that easy to maneuver, which is completely fine, but to hit the fuel tanks you needed to be very precise, which made picking them up harder than maybe it should have been. Maybe a little bit of "magnetic pull" or bigger hitboxes would have helped. The fuel meter should have been maybe with a more futuristic font, but that's just nitpicking.
As I said, fantastic atmosphere, very calming and well crafted space experience.
Congratulations on finishing your first game jam! Your game was actually pretty entertaining, especially when the shooting/teleporting mechanic came to play. You had some good ideas with puzzles, avoiding hazards with the shooting and so forth, so good job. Hope to see you at LD40!
Phew, that was tricky. The art was very pretty, liked the little blur effects on the sides of the screen too. The monsters looked fantastic. Climbing the titan could have had a little "crispier" graphics maybe, I was a bit lost for a good while on each playtime :D
Generally the difficulty was good, took a while to get a grasp on the mechanics and the seat placement but it was enjoyable once you got the hang of it. Sideways jumping could have been a little slower in my opinion, but luckily the grabbing mechanic worked perfectly and responsively and helped out with the quick jumps.
UI to me had a bit awkward layout, I feel the amount of energy could have been placed to the lower part of the screen, now I found myself going up and down with my eyes, which wasn't ideal. Altogether though, enjoyed myself, very well done!
As people have pointed out, the physics here is very well executed. The limited power makes it critical to actually think what power you need to use for what kind of a target. It's challenging but I feel with such short levels, it doesn't feel unfair.
I felt graphically it was a bit boring but everything (like the star's effect on the shot) was clear and that is the most important thing in a game like this. Good job!
Definitely on the difficult end of games I've tried, the dodge mechanic needs to be used pretty perfectly for it to be of any use, I mostly just tried to hack my way through the game and failed miserably hah.
The music and gloomy intro (human meat yikes) set a good mood for the game You really feel like the apocalypse is coming. Visually it looks nice and polished with all the nice menu animations, props for the amount of text you managed to get into the game as well. After a couple of rounds I felt the game loop itself started to feel a bit repetitive. Maybe would've liked if the animations of the tiny dudes were a tad faster.
Loved the atmosphere of the game, really made you feel alone with the wind blowing and your vision blurring when you get cold. Interesting take on the theme as well. The slower pace of gameplay is a bit of a challenge with jam games but I felt that for this game it needed to be like this. Good job overall.
Initially thought the game bugged out because the stars weren't spawning hah. I thought it was fun once everything started to work out. The slow controls actually fit the game well in my opinion.
This was funny with all those puns, although a bit confusing as to how I managed to actually appease the demon. Maybe it was all the eyes I sacrificed  Not sure if it's supposed to happen but got the same two cards 3 times a row so I guess that made my path to being friends with the demon a bit easier.
Really fun idea, wolves and sheep theme was a good fit. It looks great and is very rich in sound effects. Controls were sometimes a bit difficult, especially with the throw/punch mechanic. Some deeper strategy maybe could have been there but I just stood in a corner and serial threw sheep outside
