How exactly does this game work? I don't understand what exactly I'm supposed to do...
Foon → Ludum Dare Explorer → LD31 → Plankton

How exactly does this game work? I don't understand what exactly I'm supposed to do...
you can click throw some food for the organisms, it is pretty basic and maybe too simplistic
you can get some information by hovering your mouse on the "?" sign on the topèleft corner of the screen
Thanks for your feedback, I'll try to make it clearer
I meant on the "evolving and breeding" part, am I supposed to have them grow? Or do I just keep splitting them?
Once they reach a determined food intake, they evolve by themselves
Really addictive simple game with great graphics. Could have more mechanics though.
there was really good mood in this :)
Good job
Strange game :) I didn't understand what to do but it was nice clicking everywhere to feed and evolve
lol, my plankton turned into frogs. Cool game!
A nice-looking game with an interesting concept! Put more food to challenge the player on his speed and stress management. Nice work!
There is not much of a goal which is sad because the game is gorgeous and all the evolutions are really good looking. It's nice to see the cells evolve in something more complicated.
Lovely aesthetics. Fun to watch them evolve
Pretty fun! I really liked the graphics. There wasn't much interesting gameplay though...
Not sure I understood what was going on, but I thoroughly enjoyed watching it :)
Awesome art style ! Great game! I like it ^^
It reminds me of a simple tamagotchi, kind of. It looks and sounds nice but the gameplay is really barebones. I would've liked maybe different foods to grow them in a different way or something. Still I always have a soft spot in my heart for games like this :)
i like it is it possible to see the source code ?
The link isnt the capx file ?
Nice little game, looks good and sounds pretty good. I wish there was more to do, but it was interesting watching the little dudes change even though I'm not exactly sure what/why I was doing it.
I love the look of the game. I couldn't get the plankton to evolve past the first stage though (where it grows a tentacle thing). I only realised there were more stages after seeing your post.
@egos : I just added the .capx file in the entry! ;)
Cool idea and very nice art!
Nice feel to the game. I like the details you put in - particles and stuff. Mechanics can be improved though.
Well done!
I love pretty much anything thats simulated life, so you get points for that alone! Plus the awesome colors and cool movements of the creatures, of course. I couldn't get my thing to turn into a frog though, not sure if it was bugged or what but I fed it a ton and it never got beyond the fat blob that swims erratically.
Life simulator mate, 4* !
Maybe we can do something with both our projects? :D
Really interesting concept and well executed. With some more feedback to the player, this could be a great one. This is the type of game that needs a lot of content to really create a sense of wonder and discovery for the player. Obviously, in 48h that's not a possibility, but what about... post-compo? :)
As a sidenote, I'm always very happy to see a fellow C2 user. Hello c2 brother!
Really liked the graphics, thought your colour choices worked really well and liked seeing the evolution occur. Got upto 27080 points and then my guy seemed to stop moving, think I overfed him. Nice entry and would be nice to see it expanded upon with more content.
Ok so I fed a lot to grow a lot...but where does it go and where does it stop? You should only have limited food and make it more obvious where you have to put the food...But I somehow still enjoyed the feeding and growing. Just needs more work :)
Nice idea!
Cool game! Nice graphics and sound. Quite fun and addictive, even if the goal isn't clear. I wish the planktons would be more active in getting the food so they don't starve to death. In any case, good job!
Interesting idea, and I really liked the colours you used, they created a nice atmosphere
