LD39 — Running out of Power

RUN! Before the power runs out! by zenmumbler 2017-08-04T15:33:48Z

Wow, that was intense!

It was amazing how such a simple concept can get you thrilled.

Innovation – as you already acknowledged – wasn't the thing this game will get the best score, but it needn't – it was tense and fun and that's what it's about.

All in all: **Great game,** thank you for sharing it !

Planet Drifter by Eldy 2017-08-01T09:47:34Z

Very good , but I find the visible area a bit small (I often went "out of camera" when I had enough power left to just turn around, but as I didn't see the ship any more, I couldn't turn in the right direction).

Thank you for sharing.

Horrible Politics by Rocketship 2017-08-04T17:33:05Z

**Great job, I really laughed a lot while playing.**

A few things** you could have enhanced / done to perfect the game: - When having selected ones choices, I would have wished for a "continue" button as I had already read the full statement. - After each week / conference / whatever, at least the first time it wasn't quite clear to me due to the delay if the game was over, there was a bug and it didn't take my answers or something like that. Because of that, I clicked the other two options (which is still possible after making ones choices), and as it then continued, I thought it had something to do with that. Again: An argument for the "continue"-button, or at least for not being able to select anything after all gaps are filled. - Sometimes, when selecting two long words, the text overflows it's container (speech bubble), that could be fixed.

All in all, my suggestions are purely cosmetics, so they didn't impact my experience with the game at all, which is why …

**… all in all, it's a hilariously funny and entertaining game **

Lionel's Weekend by nidup 2017-08-04T17:49:54Z

**Great game .**

As others have already mentioned, very innovative ("new genre"), and I really like how you have to rely on memory and sounds to navigate.

The only thing I would have liked (but it's more challenging the way it is, so maybe, it's intentional?) would have been to climb down ladders, as sometimes, I didn't know where I was and would have liked to go to that computer the floor below, from where I knew the way to the door…

**All in all, very innovative, much fun and a great experience, thank you for sharing .**

Mothership by Almax 2017-08-05T10:33:47Z

Probably the game I had the most fun playing so far.

As I'm into space games anyway (and combined with strategy, I find it even cooler), I really enjoyed this game.

All in all, I don't have any criticism to offer, so let's just conclude:

**Very cool game, great job and thank you for sharing !**

The forgotten mission by stoffe 2017-08-04T21:31:45Z

A great game, although, as others have already mentioned, it would be great if there was sound.

The concept is one of the key strengths of the game – I really like what you did out of the theme.

Also, I liked the dialog system very much.

**So, all in all:**

**It's a great game ** – it needs a bit of polishing here and there (especially audio and visual feedback), but I know it's hard to do those things in such a short amount of time, so: Well done!

End of Time by TolMera 2017-08-04T18:37:53Z

A really interesing, great concept with a great implementation.

A few things you maybe could have enhanced: - **When clicking a button,** it sometimes happened that I wanted to click the button, but in this moment, a new question "came in" and I answered something I didn't want to answer in a way I didn't want. - **Maybe, making it a bit easier at the beginning** would have helped (like this, I got thrown into the game and had to study the UI while already getting thousands of questions)

After getting into it it was much fun playing, although unfortunately I didn't have the time to complete the game (I'm looking forward to trying it again with more time)

**All in All:**

One of the most complex games I've seen so far, which means I pretty much like it however good or bad the game is

**Jokes aside: A great concept and a great game !**

Journey in the Dark by FurkanFS 2017-08-01T10:33:25Z

**It's a great game . **

**Just one thing:** I have to agree with @bajarymi and @arnage: I also understand your explanation, but it would have been great if it had been a bit clearer what's an obstacle and what's not (it doesn't have to be shining red, but just **a bit clearer** – maybe by having just a bit more contrast in the brightness of the colors…).

All in all, a great game, thank you for sharing it.

Running out of Coffee by Triastase 2017-08-01T08:10:35Z

The idea is interesting and has some potential, but I think it … - … is to hard (maybe, it would have been easier if the controls were side by side on the keyboard as thinking about which key did what in the game is to slow for the fast pace the game has – and clicking also was a bit complicated, as then, one has to look to the bars on the right and the cursor). - … needs sound, because without sound, it's too hard, as there is only visual feedback (and even that is insufficient, as others already mentioned) telling you if you need to brew new coffee (which is too complicated for the fast pace of the game).

Thank you for sharing.

Soaring by Jose Pedro Dias 2017-08-01T08:34:27Z

To be honest, I find the idea a bit boring (Flappy birds combined with some Picking coins and some fuel limitations) – also, I am not a big fan of Flappy birds. The implementation, and – to be more exact – the **audio** aspect of it– compensate for that, though.

All things considered: An a bit boring idea (in my opinion) with a much better implementation (especially in mood and audio).

Thank you for sharing.

Blitztanz by haette 2017-08-05T22:35:28Z

**Great work !**

I really liked the concept of it. You really took the theme and went into a direction I wouldn't have expected a game to go with this theme.

Also, the implementation rounded everything of.

One little thing: Although the power level meters are nice, but I didn't have the time to look over to them while playing as your game has a very high pace, which meant I just tried to balance it by intuition. Maybe, some more feedback would have been nice (colors getting less saturated or something like that).

**All in all: a great game, much fun to play, so: Great work, thanks for sharing it !**

Battery Booster by Garett Cooper 2017-08-04T18:11:54Z

**Great work!**

I actually enjoyed that there were no AI cars (I like playing without AI and in such a short amount of time, working on a good AI is almost impossible in my opinion). And it's better to have no AI then to have a bad one.

Also, I loved the simplicity of it. The feeling was just right when "driving".

**All in all: A great game, especially for you second LD **

The Political Juggle by Phlip45 2017-08-04T15:26:17Z

Much fun – really hilarious and an interesting interpretation of the theme.

I also liked the balancing (at the beginning, I thought "nice idea, but boring", but it was got quite challenging toward the end).

Great job !

Lamplight by Wheffle 2017-08-04T15:19:11Z

Very cool game.

I have to agree with @drtizzle, though: Shooting flares is pretty much the primary thing I was doing…

All in all: Great job !

Turrets Turrets by ryzy27 2017-08-04T15:44:13Z

That was fun!

Since I don't have any criticism that wasn't already mentioned here to offer:

**Great game, thanks for sharing !**

Mission Critical by Dast99 2017-08-01T07:40:31Z

Nice game . The **art is very nice**, but it's **a bit too easy to land the ship**. Thanks for sharing.

Energy Drones by Asofi 2017-08-05T22:23:59Z

**That was fun!**

I liked how you made it quite hard from the beginning, as it got me quite frustrated, and, to be honest, I liked that in a strange manner (it's this "it can't be that hard, this time, I have to get it"-feeling, if you know what I mean )

Jokes aside:

There isn't much more to say. As @tyranosaw already mentioned, some visual polishing (especially on an enemy's death) would have been nice, but otherwise, I don't have any criticism to give.

**Great game, much fun to play, thank you for sharing **

Last Train Out by amarcu 2017-08-02T11:36:39Z

Very cool game, one of the best LD39 games I've played so far – I would like to give some constructive feedback on what to do better, but I have nothing to say .

Light The Way by BobbyTables 2017-08-05T22:15:09Z

A decent game – not the best I've seen, not the worst.

For your first Unity Game however, it is really good .

Gameplay would need a bit more polishing, but others have already mentioned that – and I understand that would be mostly impossible in your first game made with Unity, so no hard feelings there .

The mood was excellent – you get *5/5* there. It really suited the game and I really got a bit scared seeing the ghosts starting to move toward me.

As there really isn't much more to say (that hasn't been said before), I conclude:

**Great work, a decent game (a very good one for your first LD and Unity Game) =>**

TITAN, Defend Earth before it's too late by MichaelTWG 2017-08-02T16:59:50Z

Very cool game – a bit difficult (getting to know the layout of the titan and so on), but if it wasn't, it would be boring

I would love to give some more constructive feedback, but the only thing I could think of was already mentioned by @james-dunlap (exiting the seat by just moving instead of jumping), so:

**To keep it short and simple: A very cool game!**

@phlip45

Thank you for your constructive Feedback (the most extensive one I've got so far )

I agree that Unity acts weird sometimes, I didn't notice this, but will look into it (I never really liked Unity's "premade Settings", but that sounds like something that can be fixed, I will look into it the next time I have a bit of spare time.
