Nice, I like the idea of sounds playing a big part of navigation. I'm playing and just waiting to hear that ladder sound
Foon → Ludum Dare Explorer → LD39 → Lionel's Weekend

Nice, I like the idea of sounds playing a big part of navigation. I'm playing and just waiting to hear that ladder sound
Controls are a little bit stiff but I LOVE this concept. Also great job on making sounds a way to make your way back. (Also you think Lionel would to bring a flashlight with him by now XD)
I love how sound is how you navigate all blind hero like ;) I liked the increasing difficulty. Oddly the game broke some sense of disbelief with the same exact thing happening week after week (not saying good or bad, just that it did).
New genre : blind platform game.
i really like the concept of the game, tell you what it needs checkpoint it like a second before the light get switched off so you can glimpse the level when you reset to make the reset feel better to use and have like super meat boy replays all at the same time when you complete a level
Wow! A smart use of sound in the game and an interesting mechanics.
Really enjoyed the sound, I wasn't completely sure what i was supposed to do at first, I thought I had to move a box or something, but once I realized it was very interesting trying to navigate by sounds. I thought the special platforms that made different sounds were especially cool.
I really enjoy this! Very clever.
Really nice work! Very atmospheric! The sound puzzle aspect was really cool, but I think you could have emphasized the horror aspect a bit more. Before I realized there was no danger, the game was REALLY tense for me.
Nice memory game. Really liked the sound effects. I think that guy needs a hearing aid lol. Well done.
At first it took me some time to understand I was in the same room when the lights went off. Maybe flashing the light before turning them off would have avoided confusion. The I started playing the game by memorizing my path. The idea is great but I found it a little difficult quite fast. Still a good job.
Nice entry. I liked the little touches of the computer screens and the completely casual mouse murder. The sound puzzle aspect was very cool.
Lionel never seems to learn, does he?
Suggestions: - The jumping was extremely unforgiving. It is hard enough when the lights are on, but when they are off it is extra difficult. Maybe give the player a fraction of a second after falling off a ledge to jump? - Allow the player to move and hold up to climb a ladder. There were times I wanted to move to the stack of boxes and climb the ladder at the end but it wouldn't work.
Bugs: Nothing gamebreaking, but there were some funny things. - You can jump on the open door at the start. You can't jump once you are standing on it though. - When you have the dialog after grabbing the box you fall in slow motion.
Nice entry, the coworker doing the same thing every week cracked me up :) This is a well-designed game with nice aesthetics and great sound design. Well done!
I love how you manage to apply the theme. Nice game design work. If I can help with the polishing I'll say two things: don't remove the player feedback (glasses) when climbing a ladder, it was a little bit confusing; the animation that the co-worker (he is not the nicest) does it hasn't to be repeated every time. It stops the dynamism in the next levels. Overall it is a nic expirience and a whole functional game. Nice work, and good luck!
Great game! I like how audio is really important and not just an afterthought. The game looks and sounds really nice.
Amazing job! The whole concept works really well. Having to go though the level once normally and then retracing your steps in the dark works very nicely, and I thought the great sound design made it even better. It never really felt frustrating, and the use of specific lighted objects were good reference points as well. Damn that hard-of-hearing coworker!
I like your new take on platforming. Sadly, I have a poor ear for sound recognition, so I didn't do as well as the others.
This is a really clever use of theme. I love the idea of having to navigate the level once in the light and once in the dark. It's sort of a mix of a platformer and a memory game. It's pretty smart how you made the different kinds of floors make different sounds when stepped on to help tell where you are. The little computer screens and glowing rat eyes were also very helpful. The animation was a bit janky, but I guess that's okay when you're not seeing it half of the time. It was also a bit annoying having to sit through the same cutscene at the start of every level. Despite these issues, this is a really well designed entry. Excellent work!
A blind platformer. Honestly something I've never seen before. Really enjoyable.
First it took me by surprise that the light went out, I didn't read the description :) Graphics is quite cute and the difficulty is just fine! Poor forgotten Lionel! Congrats
Really nice idea. I like the approach of mixing platformer with memory and sound cues. The glowing pairs of glasses were really helping. Was scared the first time that I have do it without any position indication. ^^ The ladders were a little bit difficult to move up in the darkness, though. Besides that, great work. :)
Cool idea. The later levels really get hard. Two suggestions for minor improvements: make the cutscene shorter, I was a bit annoyed after watching it for the fifth time. And maybe make the controls on the ladder more like you stay on the ladder when not pushing a button. I was pretty confused by the fact that I would climb up the ladder and then immediately drop down again. Took me a while to figure out that I had to immediately get to the side onto a platform.
Very cool Idea! :D I really liked that you have to remember all the way back. Good use of sound effects, it really helps to navigate through the room. Maybe it would be great to have a flashlight and get the chance to look in front of you for one time. The letters are a bit weird to climb. All in all great game!
Nice idea! We almost went for this kind of idea (only top down) for our entry. Good job!
The controls made the platforming sometimes a bit more frustrating than it should have been. Also please don't make me watch an unskippable scene every time I replay the level. These two things made it hard for me to enjoy the game, sorry.
When walking onto the metal the walking sound was sometimes between the steps, so you wouldn't really hear it. I think, it should always start with an audible stepping sound when first stepping on it. (I hope that sentence made sense.)
I think some atmospheric music could have improved this entry a lot. Otherwise, solid entry.
Love this game! The concept is great and the graphics look very cute. I like the element of planning that lets you play. It gets pretty difficult without much room for strategy besides memorizing the room. I liked the killing of the rats to make an exit strategy, so maybe as another way, you could have little lightbulbs across the map. The player would see an exit strategy in advance and power them on before they pick up the crate, that way when the lights go out they have points of interest for them to go to, like leaving a trail of breadcrumbs for themselves in advance. Maybe certain lightbulbs go out faster than others, so you have to plan out the order you turn them on before the lights go out?! And worst case if you do it wrong, it's not impossible to escape the level, as it would just play like the game plays now.
pretty hard game but funny
Great game! The blind mechanic is very interesting and well executed thanks to the good sound design. Well done!
This is a pretty fun memory game, the last level is especially challenging because you collect the box near the beginning instead of near the end and backtrack. Only issue I could find was the climbing a bit flimsy, as you can fall down immediately after reaching the top of one.
**Great game .**
As others have already mentioned, very innovative ("new genre"), and I really like how you have to rely on memory and sounds to navigate.
The only thing I would have liked (but it's more challenging the way it is, so maybe, it's intentional?) would have been to climb down ladders, as sometimes, I didn't know where I was and would have liked to go to that computer the floor below, from where I knew the way to the door…
**All in all, very innovative, much fun and a great experience, thank you for sharing .**
Wow, using sound this way is really cool and innovative, this is example of amazing game design!
Graphics, sound, gameplay, story..all the pieces are playing together and final experience is just awesome!
Thank you for sharing the game with us!

* I love this game mechanic when you need to remember wholemap or parts of the map.
* these hints when you walked on metal floor etc, good leading of player I like it
* Nice pixel art styled game.
Cool game, I want to play more levels. Maybe add some more mechanics(climb down, wet floor etc). At all thanks for this game.
I love the game and the way you used the theme, very clever! I really like the guy that enter in the room to tell you that is weekend time, it's very funny :P Congratulations, good work!
Clever game! I included it in my Ludum Dare 39 compilation video series, if you’d like to take a look :) https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=EIFo4JBAdvc
