LD39 — Running out of Power

Lionel's Weekend by nidup 2017-08-03T17:56:03Z

Cool idea. The later levels really get hard. Two suggestions for minor improvements: make the cutscene shorter, I was a bit annoyed after watching it for the fifth time. And maybe make the controls on the ladder more like you stay on the ladder when not pushing a button. I was pretty confused by the fact that I would climb up the ladder and then immediately drop down again. Took me a while to figure out that I had to immediately get to the side onto a platform.

Lightmare by maniac 2017-08-03T16:18:02Z

Pretty scary. And it looks really awesome. I just think that the spiders could have been a bit more forgiving. Maybe just a small delay before they start descending again after they got out of the light.

Tesla Siblings by Linky439 2017-08-08T17:14:27Z

Cool idea. I would recommend describing the controls here on the webpage. I didn't see that there was a readme and was just confused for a few minutes trying to figure out what buttons to use. Also a preview of where the blocks will land might be useful. I found it hard to estimate where they would land, so I rarely used the fast fall button.

But overall a solid entry. Well done.

Evelyn by Everbrave 2017-08-08T16:31:53Z

Pretty cool entry. I guess most relevant points of critique have already been mentioned. I really enjoyed the atmosphere. The only thing that annoyed me was that I coulnd't shoot the Telepod upwards through ledges. And maybe some sort of sensor that at least tells you if you are getting nearer (some sort of echolot like in submarines to match the ship theme perhaps?) would smooth the gameplay a bit more I think.

Terminal Attraction by Aumbra 2017-08-02T19:04:13Z

Wow. I didn't expect that. Great writing and humour. And finally a game with sex scenes that you don't feel embarrassed about because they are awkward. Well done guys. You really impressed me.

Electrical Evasion by Knarfux 2017-08-10T16:49:51Z

Cool idea. Gameplay was abit confusing at first, but I got it after a few tries. One issue I noticed was that I drove slightly past an energy ball and wanted to go back and collect it. I saw it completely on screen, but somehow couldn't get close enough to touch it. Maybe a better visual indicator for when you are close enough to an energy ball would help with this issue.

Otherwise, solid entry.

Eclipse by SaraMartins 2017-08-10T15:46:04Z

Very beautiful game. Music and artstyle set a nice atmosphere. The objective could have been made a bit clearer. I was quite confused to just start at the beginning again when I finished the level. Well done.

Doki Doki Magica by Sir Daniev 2017-08-10T16:42:48Z

Pretty cool. The atmoshpere is great and the art style, while simple, is very fitting and very functional, but in a good way. You can tell everything apart very good and it still looks coherent.

And yeah, the boss graphics really made me smile :)

No Sorcerer's Sky by TheFlyingKeyboard 2017-08-10T15:27:14Z

The game was pretty hard to understand. It feels a bit like there is exactly one way to survive a bit longer. It felt more like puzzle game, where it was hard to figure out the exact order of steps than a resource oriented simulation which it looked like. Maybe it was just me not being able to figure out multiple ways to survive longer, but I think it should be more open to different strategies. Graphics were cool and I think the idea has potential with some more feedback.

-simov by BSO 2017-08-03T18:48:28Z

Well, I didn't really understand much about the game. It is really weird, how fast you are on lower quality settings. From a visual point of view it was quite cool. And better luck next time with the text bug. Maybe try creating several builds throughout the compo/jam. That helps with spotting build errors early on.

Fall of Raphael by fangzhangmnm 2017-08-01T12:02:06Z

The game looks really good. And the music is disturbin, which nicely fits. I had however a problem with the resolution of the webbuild. I could not get the game to fit entirely on the screen, which made it harder to play. Also one minor problem were the platforms. I felt like some of them moved way too slow when you have to wait for them. And I feel like the character should move with the platform when standing still on it instead of the platform gliding away under you. But overall e really cool entry.

Light out by Harrelix 2017-08-03T17:39:16Z

Cool entry. Well done for your first LD game. I didn't see much use for the flashlight however. I just ran around with the knife and stabbed at everything. Worked out pretty well. It would be cool if you could scare the zombies away with your flashlight or something like that.

Titan LD39 Compo by NamInUz 2017-08-10T15:52:53Z

Pretty hard. I didn't really feel like there was I could do to improve my survivability. An easier way to tell how much power is left would have been helpful I think. Most other points have already been adressed by other comments and your jam version.

But a solid entry for compo I think.

Till the last spin by KiiroHanabi 2017-08-08T16:47:38Z

Wow, that was hard. But the idea is pretty cool. Quite a novelty. As many already said, a bit more feedback would be cool. Maybe something like changing the arrow images to more distorted versions when you fail or something like that. But I guess you are creative enough to come up with something a bit more practical.

Might I propose that you read up on the "Five Stages of Grief and Loss"? It is a (somewhat outdated, but practical to use) psychological model of how people try to cope with learning that they (or close friends etc.) will die. Denial is actually the first stage and acceptance the last one in this model, so it might suit your idea. (Unless that is where you got the idea from and this note is completely useless. Oh, well ;))

The Kleptocracy of Rodentia by JemSmith 2017-08-01T10:39:15Z

The idea is pretty cool. But I think some of the rooms are a bit too dark. I had problems figuring out, where the doors were. Maybe some highlighting of the doors would help with navigation while keeping the darker look. Also the game was a bit laggy, even with reduced graphics settings. The graphical design overall was pretty good and the sound effects matched nicely with the game. Good work.

LD40 — The more you have, the worse it is

King of the Mountain by dollarone 2017-12-28T12:23:59Z

Can't resist a calll for help. Here is avote for you. The trick to getting enough votes is to vote on other games and leave a comment. This way, people will see your comment and many will then check out your game and rate it as well. It may be bit late for this LD to get enough votes, but definetly try it next time. I recommend rating like 20 games or so in the first week of voting. That should get you enough votes rather wuickly.

Concerning your game, I think there was some kind of bug for me becasue at first everything kept changing all the time without me interacting with anything. After a time it stopped and then I could play. The idea is certainly interesting, but needs some clearer explanation. Also there were some resolution issues for me.

Anyways, I hope you will particpitae again next LD. Cheers!

Crazy Cat Lady by Jacksendary 2017-12-12T17:53:10Z

Nice puns. Somehow my kitties dies even though I gave them food and water. Maybe some mechanice I missed? Music and sounds were also pretty fitting in my opinion. SO good job folks.

Apokalipsa by srakowski 2017-12-09T15:33:56Z

Pretty cool. You managed to present rather complex mechanics in a very simple way. That's impressive. It's apity the theme wasn't really implemented, but good work anyways.

Bob the conqueror by Thijs Tak 2017-12-09T16:49:27Z

Nice concept. However the music didn't really fit the game in my opinion. Otherwise good job.

Paper Layers by BUNN1E5 2017-12-07T10:59:03Z

I think it is a problem of pretty much everone participating in LD that they want to achieve more than they can. It is after all also about pushing your limits.

I really liked the idea of the game. The control scheme was a bit confusing, since I don't have an english keybord layout and had to figure out which button < was supposed to be. It might be a good idea to stay away from symbols and use letters that are similarly placed on most keyboards. Also regarding the size of the web player, I guess you used Unity's 960x600, but the HTML5 build actually adds a small bar to the bottom, resulting in the top part of your game not being visible. Just add another 60 or so pixels on the itch.io player settings and that should be fixed.

The burden by mathijs750 2017-12-07T15:45:41Z

Very solid entry. The atmosphere is just gorgeous. I really liked it.

I was however a bit confused when the screen faded to white. I thought I could sometimes see some faint shapes in there, but I couldn't really understand if I was supposed to do anything at that point or if that was just the end.

Anyways, keep up the great work.

Air Pressure by zgragselus 2017-12-09T15:42:30Z

Pretty well done. I would recommend adding some way to alert the player to new airports opening up. I didn't realise there was a new one half aroound the globe until it was too late. Otherwise, great work.

Grey Goo by kleinzach 2017-12-11T11:03:03Z

Man, I am a sucker for literary games. And combining that with a clicker game is quite innovative for all I know. The story was quite predictable, but I really enjoyed playing the game none the less.

well done.

CARnage by Rolle 2017-12-10T17:46:45Z

Not my type of game, but I am impressed with the level of polish you put in. Well done.

Student Loan Simulator 2017 Ramen Edition by smbe19 2017-12-06T20:28:21Z

Interesting idea. I found it a bit lacking from a gameplay persepctive, but I think it does show pretty nicely how devastating loans can be.

Headstuck by fullmontis 2017-12-11T10:00:36Z

Really cool mechanics and the drawing style transports the emotions really good. Well done.

Mr. Capital! by fluidvolt 2017-12-11T18:39:51Z

Cool game. The mechanics are prety fun. Jumping felt BIT SLIPPERY SOMETIMES; BUT OTHERWISE; WELL DONE:

The Final Judgement by Epicsoft 2017-12-07T16:09:19Z

Hmm, I can't say I understood the rules of the game, even sfter reading your explanation post. But the setting sounds really cool. Maybe try to make a step by step explanation how to play the game with screenshots. That might help.

Patient Zero by btwj 2017-12-10T19:39:54Z

Man, this is complex. But it is an innovative concept, which is always agreat thing. Well done.

Loot Box Simulator by Chronodrax 2017-12-07T11:07:37Z

How do you put items in your inventory? I tried for several minutes, but to no avail. Maybe you should update the description explaining this.

Ascension by Roberto Romao 2017-12-14T13:12:42Z

The idea is interesting, but pacing is a bit weak. At first it seems like nothing is changing for ages and than you get a bunch of new options and suddenly the game is over. Also most of the choices didn't look like they would have much influence. Othersie a solid game. Good work.

... by exezin 2017-12-05T19:46:20Z

Wow, this game is harder than Dark Souls xD. Couldn't beat the first level :( Control scheme is an interesting idea. Maybe some more visual cues would help judging one's speed and jumping direction. I had a hard time judging from where to jump.

Looks really cool though,so nice job.

One Night to Score by nervous-composers 2017-12-06T20:51:59Z

You definetly hit the theme. But the conversation system was a bit strange, since you could go around in circles for quite some time. I think that part could need some adjustments so that you don't have to go through it over and over again if you made a wrong choice. Anyways, keep up the good work.

For Better or For Worse by valandre 2017-12-15T16:38:42Z

Good job. Really nice mood and emotional story telling. One minor nitpick is that to me it felt like ignoring the flashlight and just running through was way easier to do than the other way around.

Otherwise, well done.

Mayfly by silkworm_sweatshop 2017-12-15T16:15:23Z

Wow, this is disturbing. Seriously messed up.

Good writing and fitting sound effects and music. Well done.

Miiiaaawww by miaw 2017-12-08T14:30:22Z

Cute game. I can't see the theme either, but the game overall seems solid. Keep up the good work.

FUNKONOMIX 2021 by jelch 2017-12-08T13:54:00Z

Pretty cool. It took me a while to understand the concept, but once I got it, it was actually pretty fun. A bit more feedback might indeed be helpful, but otherwise, well done.

Smartphone Nightmare by gdquest 2017-12-06T20:35:31Z

Really cool visual design. Took me a while to figure out how to throw away apps using the mouse, but I guess that will work much smoother with touch. Overall well done.

The Will of the Wisps by adsilcott 2017-12-10T20:06:33Z

Nice dark mood. The roadblocks feel a bit arbitrary, but otherwise this game is really cool. I love how everything becomes more horrible when you shine light at it.

Catsume: The Cat's Paw by MattWoelk 2017-12-07T15:55:37Z

The cats are pretty cute. However, there is too much time were you don't have anything to do as the player. It feels a bit like an idle game, but without the satisfying rising numbers. Some additional interactions between player and cats might have made the game more interesting.

Be Yourself by Noa Calice 2017-12-14T12:50:39Z

A simple idea well executed. Pretty good.

Project Vamparty by maybe 2017-12-15T16:26:41Z

Cool idea. I encountered a bug with a person spawning on stage and I killed them and was trapped on the stage afterwards. Otherwise cool little game.

Disk Overdrive by Bendev_Games 2017-12-14T12:33:55Z

Cool idea. Spawning the power ups at random positions would make the game more interesting. But it plays pretty smooth, so good job.

Cat Clicker by Mr.MadCat 2017-12-06T20:34:27Z

@mshopf Yeah, black ribbon cats have a rather low probability of appearing, so it is quite possible to play through the game without ever getting one.

Cat Clicker by Mr.MadCat 2017-12-07T10:08:14Z

Thanks for all the nice comments!

@OmnomGuy That sounds really strange, sorry for the bug. What browser are you using? We only extensively tested using Firefox. We expected it to work fine across most browser since it is HTML5.

@BUNN1E5 Yeah, the camera scroll was in retrospective unecessary. At the time we thought a bigger room would be a good idea. But a grab and pull system would probably have worked better. Thanks for the tip.

@Chronodrax Glad you enjoyed it. Yeah, sorry about that sudden kick out, we had planned on letting the player continue to play, but didn't have the time to implement that in the end.

Cat Clicker by Mr.MadCat 2017-12-08T17:59:29Z

@DjeyCreations That is really strange, that scrolling bug never happended to us. We will take a look at it and see if we can fix it somehow.

@Thijs-Tak The game is meant to be played at the fixed resolution, not fullscreen. We tested quite abit. In the beginning some buttons should be deactivatet to make the player follow the tutorial, but those should become usable when needed. Hm, maybe with a screenshot of the elemnts blocking the dialouge buttons I could find out what was going on there.

@LMB the green ghosts are from the dead cats, yeah. Cats die either because there is no clean litter box available or because there is no bowl with food. You need to click on the bowls to refill them. If a cat doesn't get food within a certain amount of time it will starve.

@DaniE Yeah, the incest part wasn't really implemented. We had planned on it, but in the end there simply is a very low probability (5%) that newly breeded cats will have a genetic defect.

@miaw Thanks a lot for making a let's play of our game. Yeah, I had originally planned to make the cats like immortal during the tutorial, but time ran out. I guess that is what happened to a lot of players.

Cat Clicker by Mr.MadCat 2017-12-08T18:08:26Z

Thank you to everyone for your comments. I have updated the description with some clarifications that will (hopefully) prevent some of the bugs for other players.

Btw, if you rate our game and are not the member of your team who owns your game's page on this website, make sure to write the link to your game in your profile or in your comment, so that we can play and rate it (if you want us to ;) ). It appears that it is very difficult to find your game otherwise. Writing it in your profile is probably best because it then everyone can find it and you don't have to write it in every comment :)

Dish Rush by WirkilichKeinBaum 2017-12-05T18:28:47Z

Really cool idea and well polished. A cool addon would be a small bubble showing you the state of your character when you run out of the screen, so that you can use that space effectively. But really good entry. Keep up the good work.

Booyah Bass by Caffeinated Psychics 2017-12-09T15:55:41Z

Pretty solid game. Good interpretation of the theme. Well done.

Heroic by Christian Koch 2017-12-11T18:54:42Z

I must say, I didn't really understand how to fight. I pressed E to attack the bats, but nothing seemes to happen. I second Kolbjorn. Publishing an unfinished game is much better than not to do so. This way at least you will get some feedback. So congratulations for pulling through. I know even that can be pretty hard sometimes.

Infectious Void by Odrez 2017-12-07T16:26:26Z

Pretty solid entry. Looks and feels good. The atmosphere is als well done. Controls were a bit awkward, using left ctrl to attack, but overall vry well done.

Somni by Timestop 2017-12-13T14:17:21Z

Pretty cool. Looks really good and the story is also pretty decent. Well done folks.

Tendril by NykolaR 2017-12-28T12:33:01Z

So, let's hope his gets you out of the danger zone ;)

Nice little game. Rather relaxing. I enjoyed it overall, although it was abit confusing at first, what I hat to do. But after I got that, it was fun. Good work folks.

And for future jams: go nand rate games of other poeple and leave comments. That is the best way to get enough votes and other people will be grateful for you comments.

Lonesome Hunter by EveningWayward 2017-12-14T12:46:34Z

Quitre disturbing. I like it. Shooting feels a bit sluggish, but otherwise well done.

Horny Bunny by Thomas FUentes 2017-12-13T14:23:42Z

Interesting take on the theme. The jumping animation felt a bit weird, but otherrwise a pretty solid entry. Well done.

Don't Be Rash by Cosmic Adventure Squad 2017-12-17T11:53:04Z

Cool little game. I found it a bit hard to understand the feedback on how effective the scratching was, but the game was pretty fun anyways. So good job foks.

Just Ask Her Out by ciderWrath 2017-12-17T11:58:21Z

Yay, another visual novel. Pretty cool. Especially the ending was fun. Good job folks.

Lamattractive by Pandanym 2017-12-07T15:59:25Z

Damn, it feels satisfying to headbutt these kids. Great work, especially having three difficulties. Keep it up folks.

A Game About Cats by SlimothyJ 2017-12-11T10:47:48Z

Pretty cool. Also the graphics are rather good in my opinion.

One minor balancing issue is that if you let two cats die, it is pretty easy to kepp the rest alive indefinetly. So after thirty something days I just sat there and watched them die a (not so) slow and horrible death. (Am I a bad person?)

Snail: Diamond Hunter 2000 by ruba 2017-12-05T20:01:06Z

Pretty cool. It looks and sounds amazing. Sadly, wall jumping was really difficult for me, so I never got past that spiked wall jumping section without dying many times, which means I wasn't able to finish it.

But overall pretty solid entry. Well done.

Cats Them All! by arctic_allosaurus 2017-12-13T14:07:53Z

Oh no, poor kitties. Who in their right mind would let poor kitties die? WEll I guess, I did ;)

Solid gameplay, fitting music and graphics. Well doen.

All the Spiders by LillyByte 2017-12-08T15:25:12Z

So sad that you couldn't finish it in time. Sound and graphics set an awesome mood and I like the humor. Alos I think it is very nice to see that there are other people that know that you don't have to squish spiders but can just put them outside. I just these damn spiders weren't so suicidal and tried to squeeze under my feet all the time. Wait, I'm a ghost. Why do I have feet?

It Came from the Dessert 2 by RobDangeresque 2017-12-05T18:20:26Z

Sadly, there is not muc gameplay. But I really like the look of the kittchen and the more ants there are the more anxious I feel. SO you got that definetly right.

33 (A Regular Life) by verz 2017-12-08T14:24:11Z

I guess this is one of my favourite games this LD so far. Disturbing, atmospheric, thoughtful. Great job folks. (But the 33 in the credits could have been a wee bit faster.)

Metal Fear by LMB 2017-12-10T15:29:30Z

Congratulations for your first game jam entry. Gameplay needs some refinement, but that is to be expected in a gama jam. Keep up the good work.

Kittie Reaper: A Depressed Cat Tale by jfraser314 2017-12-08T14:02:54Z

Cool idea. It was sometimes hard for me to judge if I ould walk between two hoses or not. But otherwise well done.

Shifting Dreamscape by Cruise Elroy 2017-12-10T19:51:14Z

Really cool game. Wall jumping was abit tricky, but overall it was a nice challenge.

Rattendorf by NoAim91 2017-12-10T14:02:53Z

Looks pretty cool, awesome art and pretty good music. But I think it has a problem with higher speeds. Crashed for me on speed 6 after a few days. And I didn't get what the objective was. Simply to stay alive as long as possible? If so it seemed a bit easy, at least on the small map, since after building stuff the first five days I just skipped all days by idling on full speed.

Purr-suasion by Raziyya 2017-12-13T14:27:15Z

Cool game. Smooth controls, lovely kitties. Well done.

Process Invasion by tuxmain 2017-12-28T12:40:23Z

Folks, go and rate more games! I recommend arting at least 20 games the first week of rating. And leave comments so that poeple know you rated their game and they can return the favour.

Anyways, interesting idea. Played rather well. The ending was abit confusing, but I think I won. It said game over but there was something like congratulations in the chat. Maybe make it a bit more clear what happened. I was well below 100% on memory and cpu.

Otherwise good job folks.

Castle Diorama by Abuki 2017-12-10T18:52:30Z

I love this type of game. Good job. Pity that you couldn't really cater much to the theme, though.

Keep It Simple Stupid Bang Bang by mshopf 2017-12-06T20:22:25Z

Cool idea, plays pretty smooth. A simple idea executed well. Keep up the good work.

Jam Garden by Vixel 2017-12-07T16:32:54Z

Interetsing idea. It is however quite easy to gather lots of jam without ever befriending a fruit, by just contionously clicking a tree while facing towards the sawblades.

Anyways, good job. Pretty mean to befriend a fruit just to kill it, but I guess thta is normal in friendships xD

IntenSEAty by Casper 2017-12-09T15:48:53Z

Quite beautiful. Interacting with the UI to spawn different fish is an interesting idea, but I think most players will need some sort of incentive to do that. But overall it feels pretty polished. Well done.

Order Now! by Sibi 2017-12-10T13:45:30Z

Stressful, but also pretty fun. Plus points for the shop names ;)

Eternal Zeros by Jacket 2017-12-07T16:20:07Z

Pretty cool entry. Looks good, plays good. The only nitpick is that there doesn't seem to be an incentive to take risks. It felt like I could just circle back and forth between a few save zeroes and keep getting more and more health and points. Anyways, keep up the good work.

Lightmare by corc0 2017-12-06T08:49:46Z

Very cool idea. The game saounds and looks pretty good too. As others mentioned, understanding the mechanics is a bit had, but it's a game jam, so it is hard to test these things properly. Anyways, good work.

The real war by Peta 2017-12-14T13:01:24Z

Cool idea. It is nice to see an explicit depiction of some of the things people often tend to ignore/not know when playing war games. However your mechanics don't cater to this, since it is actually really fun to sprint around and keep machine gunning everyone down. It might be better if sprinting was removed from the game, to make the killing feel less entertaining.

But overall well done.

Smack`Em! by mess110 2017-12-06T08:41:11Z

Cool little game. Very cute moles. I would recommend putting some darker shapes behind the score and time, so that they are easier to see. I didn't even notice them at my first try. Keep up the good work!

Herding Cats: The 400th South Winchester Jr. Semi-Finals with Fiona Pennywhistle by Cercle 2017-12-10T18:46:10Z

This will definetly be among the top contendors for humor. Well done.

The Amazing Game 3.0 by DjeyCreations 2017-12-09T17:03:26Z

Pretty interesting. The first part was abit slow, but humorous. In the arena part however, there is a bug that when you jump on one of the flat boxes you cant move anymore. That is rather annoying. Otherwise, well done.

Killer Kitties by PepperSalt 2017-12-14T12:37:43Z

Hm, I somehow couldn't play the game. It would only load a bluish white screen and play some music, but nothing else happens.

Yarn the Kittens by Emilio Segura 2017-12-10T19:30:12Z

Cute graphics, smooth gameplay. Good job.

Corrupture by Chyme 2017-12-08T14:37:36Z

Looks and feels good. Too easy in my opinion, as standing in darkness is more boon than bane. But congratulations of your first game jam entry. To many more.

The Tulpa by nahual 2017-12-08T15:42:45Z

Really cool concept. I think it is a bit too punishing. The atmosphere is great, but it gets ruined by "oh, I have to start over again, just because I walked into the wrong room".

But I really like the visual style. Looks really awesome. Great work folks.

Warehouse Worker by Rixium 2017-12-05T20:09:26Z

The idea is good, but as many others mentioned, it is sometimes hard to reliably pick up a specific item. Viusuals and sounds felt very good. I only notices the text in the bottom left halfway through my run. It might be good, to make it more obvious, so that people notice it.

Infernus: The Descent by Team Infernus 2017-12-08T15:12:00Z

Well, I didn't expect something like that here. Pretty (Ludum) DAREing I must say. Looks pretty good, but definetly needs some audio/animations and improvements concerning gameplay. The fights are avery repetitiv´.

Even though this probably isn't for most people, I think you deserve some credit for bringing something like this to an LD.

Statues by giucapan 2017-12-11T18:44:47Z

Not much gameplay to speak of, but it is very atmospheric. I like it. Well done.

Especcialy the crown drop at the end. That was cool.

Fat Cat Battleground by rustray 2017-12-07T16:11:50Z

This is exactly the reason you shouldn't overfeed your cat xD.

SImple idea, well executed. Good job folks.

I took too many drugs by Neecko 2017-12-15T16:22:08Z

What a trip. Pretty cool.

Mortal Komba by kokirisandfriends 2017-12-10T19:43:44Z

Very cute graphics. Kitty is pretty difficult to play with, but that makes for a great change of pace. Well done.

Greedy Dringus by OmnomGuy 2017-12-07T10:49:56Z

Pretty good for your second game. The character controller could indeed use some improvement. The control scheme, using shift for the dashis a bit awkward. Maybe another button would have been better suited. But anyways, keep making games folks!

The Fast and Fastidious by ariake81 2017-12-10T17:50:54Z

Awesome, how parts of your car fall off when you drive to fast. And pretty cool graphics style. Well done.

LD42 — Running out of space

Anna's Tale by BloodJohn 2018-08-14T09:07:03Z

Pretty cool entry. At first, it was really confusing, but playing it more allowed for the mood to settle in. The art and mood are really well done. Great job.

S.P.A.C.E – Stinky Purring Annoyed Cat Escape by limered 2018-08-14T09:42:56Z

Great idea, interpreting space as personal space. What a hissing contest. Quite enjoyable. Plus points for cat ;) But somebody please build it a save place where it can stay during parties.

PS: also greetings from Germany :)

Files and Felines by phi 2018-08-16T16:58:39Z

Clever puzzles. Well done, folks.

Darkness by strong99 2018-08-14T10:00:52Z

Hm, maybe you could add a more detailed explanation on this page? The game looks interesting, but I can't figure out if I am hitting the Demon or the hero. The demon seems to die pretty quickly and there are sound effects, but it is really hard to understand what I am achieving by pressing the mouse button.

If you add further explanation, I will give this game another try.

Flesh Packer by nervous-composers 2018-08-14T08:41:59Z

Interesting idea. Good writing and humor.

WEll done.

Too Many Cats by Marmadukian 2018-08-19T15:52:46Z

Oh boy, that got out of hand quickly.

The icons could be a bit more distinguishable, it is really hard to identify them. Otherwise well done.

Jim The Frog by hovinarri 2018-08-17T13:49:48Z

Fun little game. Is there a minimum number of crystals needed to win a level or is it just about the high score?

Also maybe a short list of the crystals and the points they give would be nice, as it can be a bit hectic to try and figure that out while collecting them.

Otherwise, well done.

Crucifix and Tentacle by Cedric Fey 2018-08-14T09:53:38Z

Looks pretty cool. Play smooth. Good job.

Maybe add some explanatory text to this page so players can understand fatser, what to do.

Personal Space by ProdigalSon 2018-08-20T07:29:01Z

Pretty well done.

The controls are sometimes a bit wonky, but that is to be expected from a jam game :) Visuals and sound are nice and level design was also interesting.

Overall a good entry!

Owned By by arctic_allosaurus 2018-08-16T17:08:04Z

Great artstyle. Mood was also pretty good.

LectureRush by FooMar 2018-08-15T11:48:36Z

Really cool. High score on innovation. And pretty hilarious. The only nitpick would be that it is not always as clear, which row the students will enter. But it is a small detail.

Overall, good job folks!

ToFSDfSftPDRRoDwL by Xwilarg 2018-08-14T08:51:28Z

Cool entry. Looks and plays pretty good. Some frenzy music and sound effects would probably improve it. Also maybe some particle effects/animations to show that the holes hurt you.

Overall pretty good. Great job.

It Came from the Dessert 3 by polona 2018-08-15T11:56:17Z

Nice water shader ;)

The Subway: horror within by Bibilega 2018-08-16T16:35:55Z

Neat game. Looks awesome and plays smoothly. One minor improvement suggestion would be to slightly change the color of the buttons for the abilities depending on wether they are usable or not. That would make it easier to see at a glance wether you can use them or not. I founs it sometimes difficult to tell based on the percentage loaded.

But overall very well done.

Meteor Shower by bekovski 2018-08-15T11:52:47Z

Solid entry. The control scheme was abit unintuitive at first.

Congratulations on finishing your first jam!

Hello Ground by Kaiomoi 2018-08-15T12:31:03Z

Pretty good entry. Fun to play and great reference to a great book.

Well done.

Unfamiliar by Kovakomes 2018-08-15T12:22:47Z

Well, that hit hard. Can't say I wasn't warned though.

Pretty good entry. It is hard portait such a serious issue in a way that is somewhat realistic. But you folks did a great job. Well done.

The Lonely Moon by DanCan 2018-08-20T10:52:42Z

Overall a solid entry.

It was pretty hard to get into, but I eventually got better at it. You made pretty good use of the theme.

Well done folks.

Dungeon, Demon and 2 Walls by Yulia 2018-08-19T15:08:13Z

Pretty neat. Looks and souns great.

It would be nice if you could attack upwards/downwards and if you had a timer visible while playing. (Or did I miss it?)

Overall well done.

Seven Souls by QrGames 2018-08-19T15:42:05Z

Overall pretty well done.

It does however get very repetitive after a while.

Plus points for cat ;)

Meow Moves by wolfybytes 2018-08-19T15:16:47Z

Looks gorgeous.

Gameplaywise however it seems really weird. I didn't exactly understand, what the rules were. Seems like you can simply stack the highes point cards and play them, generating a maximum number of points.

The Junk's Games by Paulo Augusto 2018-08-20T10:38:38Z

Ouch. Beat level 2, but man you might want to turn down the fountain of objects in the beginning. It feels like pure luck getting anywhere and afterwards it is really simple platforming.

The idea seems nice though. Maybe with some fine tuning you can get it to just the right level of trolling in the bgeining of the levels.

Good luck with continuing on this project. I hope you can turn it into something great.

Memory Leak by cr0w 2018-08-19T15:48:57Z

Pretty cool game.

I love how you feel the stress level rising as you have to platform and to manage, what you want to forget/remeber.

Well done.

The Legend of Cactus by Astericon 2018-08-14T08:17:10Z

The idea is pretty cool, but really hard to understand. Maybe write a short tutorial here. It took me seveal tries and the comments above to figure out what to do.

The retro style is well done, but I think some background music could improve it. Anyway, well done.

Space Collapse by Steffanie 2018-08-20T07:13:18Z

Quite fun game. I accidentally got so far out that even the sun was no longer visible. Somehow made it through several waves like that. Hilarious.

Space is running out of space by DarkGuardsman 2018-08-20T10:26:33Z

The concept is cool, but the movement kind of hinders the game a bit. It would certainly improve if you could see, what direction you are moving in. Maybe by moving the background or adding some trail or such.

But pretty good work for a single person team. Well done.

Feed cats by Noini 2018-08-14T08:59:28Z

Hmm, I don't quite understand what the goal is. I can see that there is stuff I can upgrade and with time more cats are coming in.

Maybe some explanatory text for the upgradable elements would help with that.

On the plus side, it looks neat and it has cats. Everything is way better with cats ;)

LD43 — Sacrifices must be made

Free-Bug by egos 2018-12-21T11:59:01Z

Cool little game. At first glance it looks really simple, but figuring out a good strategy actually requires quite some thought. Well done.

Jesus Take the Wheel by PeachTreeOath 2018-12-11T14:18:57Z

Hm, what did I just play? Well. it was pretty awesome. I can say that much ;) Interesting concept and great music and art style. Well done. I don't think there is much more to say for me. Well done.

Stranger by salyon 2018-12-24T13:28:57Z

Love the artstyle. In combination with some music, the atmosphere would be really awesome.

ICATUS and the Golden Ball of Yarn by freakoftheyear 2018-12-04T00:40:07Z

Cute game. Graphics are pretty pawesome.

RastaRush by FooMar 2018-12-04T15:17:41Z

Awesome. Very chill game. Nicely supported by the music. Well done.

Journey To The Promise Land by royur 2018-12-11T14:33:16Z

Neat little game. Sure, needs some polish and some balancing, but I think it is a very solid foundation. Well done.

Catastrophics by polona 2018-12-04T15:08:18Z

Neat little game. Plus points for cat ;)

aberth: simple text based choose your own adventure by jfraser314 2018-12-07T10:05:11Z

Well, I guess I played something. Hats off for using something as exotic as Goolge Forms. Certainly the most innovative I have seen this jam so far. Also the story was interestingly written. As someone who enjoys playing Choose Your Own Adventure kind of games from time to time I can say, that it was pretty well done. Great job! Have akitty: ^--^______|

The Cure by PinballJunior 2018-12-24T13:42:16Z

Interesting idea. I think the puzzles where you have to find a combination of traits are a bit confusing. At first I thought both traits had to be present in the room for the test subject to survive.

Otherwise the puzzles were well designed.

Sacrifices in the Cat Yard by Lex 2018-12-24T13:13:33Z

I didn't expect that. Really cool game. The intro was really funny. Well done.

Horny Demons by Team Infernus 2018-12-07T10:23:54Z

Reminds me a bit of Cultist Simulator. While playable (even with the bugs) I think some improvements could be made to the UI for clarity. Both the event cards an the left and the demon cards on the right are bit unintuitive to interact with. I thought they were just information for quite some time and was confused as to what they do. Only after several turns did I notice that I could click them. Otherwise, well done.

To The Slaughter (LD43) by snakemuho 2018-12-07T10:17:38Z

Wow, pretty tough game. Took me a few tries to understand the mechanics and actually beat the game. But the music and graphics set a nice tone and the game plays smoothly. Well done.

DYRKAN by ankan 2018-12-07T10:11:39Z

Neat game. I enjoyed the art and the humour. Minor caveat: sometimes I could not read what the worshipper said because the text changed to quickly. Otherwise well done.

God's Thirst by Vlad Ilisan 2018-12-07T09:51:47Z

Cool little game. Played pretty smooth, which is really good. I really liked that you can score a quick kill by pushing your opponents into the pit.

10Up Origins by JdH 2018-12-04T15:28:51Z

Yep, the encourage icon is genius. Sadly, the game froze for me at some point, while I had a setup that was actually producing money and 10Ups. And only fromt ime to time killing my employees.

Watching by kristinamay 2018-12-21T11:51:49Z

First of all, congratulations for finishing your first game. The game is neat. Especially the narrator text is a nice touch.

Ancient Offering by vbn6732 2018-12-07T09:44:28Z

Neat little game. Glass Cannon Strategy rules!

LD44 — Your life is currency

Void 2 by Mr.MadCat 2019-04-29T16:36:53Z

@geeitsomelaldy thanks for letting me know. I wasn't aware that it is so loud. Didn't seem to be that way on my pc. I uploaded a new version with just the volumen tuned down a bit.

Nine Lives by foxtrotluna 2019-05-14T11:59:29Z

Such a sad and yet lovely game. I really liked it. Love the Pokemon reference.

LD45 — Start with nothing

cmd && cqr by maniac 2019-10-14T12:54:52Z

For me it worked, black console with orange font color.

I really love the concept. I am not one for typing games or strategy games, but the combination is pretty cool. And ist is surprisingly fun to play.

BioMover by Goodzilla 2019-10-14T13:03:28Z

Cool idea, defnitely standing out from the crowd. Ifoound it however a bit diffcult as well du judge how well the biomorphs did in comparison to each other.

UnderShell by KaueSilva 2019-10-09T16:01:37Z

Nice little game. Controls felt a bit unwieldy, but I managed to learn them after a while. Graphics look pretty good and music was fitting. Nice to see a game with a message here.

CreepyCandy by Slipultura 2019-10-09T16:21:56Z

I liked the aestethics a lot. Also the idea of being able to walk on walls was pretty cool.

But the controls are really unreliable. Jumping workes only like 60% of the time. Also the pause menu didn't work on the second and third level. I had to kill the exe myself.

Looty McLootbox by pmueller 2019-10-14T13:10:15Z

Ok, I found the meme game of the jam.

You really should add a backgound music dlc. Or maybe via a live service subscription?

A Ghost's Tale by Elinks 2019-10-09T16:34:19Z

Overall pretty good. Solid controls, nice graphics, atmospheric sound.

The only problem I noticed was that it was sometimes difficult to read the story and escape the ghosts at the same time. But overall I liked it.

The Last Word by stasm 2019-10-09T17:09:01Z

Cool idea. Especially combining abilities was clever. The art style was also pretty neat.

The hit boxes on the grabbing vines was a bit weird though, seemed like you had to walk into them a bit in one level, to be able to kill of the vampire.

Overall a pretty good game.

Magic Melody by jcklie 2019-10-14T12:59:07Z

An interesting concept, but really hard if you don't have a good musical ear.

Negation by gasgiant 2019-10-14T13:32:19Z

Really cool idea. Took a bit to warp my head around it but it was really fun.

Well done.

Blank by MoebiusMeow 2019-10-09T16:49:27Z

Pretty interesting idea and surprisingly nice to play. Well done.

LD41 — Combine 2 Incompatible Genres

Build The Road Jack by badpaul34 2018-04-24T13:38:38Z

Pretty cool. Looks really neat.

I hit a bug, I think, as I kept getting more and more stars on the restart screen. Or is that intended behaviour?

The combinations of genre is not really clear to me as building a track and racing on it has been done in many games before. Or is there something else I am missing here?

But execution is pretty good, with good visuals and smooth gameplay. So, well done.

Alice Unlimited by ARuculaDoMal 2018-04-24T11:25:07Z

Cool idea.

It is pretty hard though. I rarely magaed to kill more than two people. An easy mode for the beginning might help get into the game. Or maybe try and assign each direction a color and color the cards correspondingly. I mostly died because I had problems figuring out where my back/front/left/right was.

Looks good and music fits the action focus, so great mix.

Overall a solid entry.

Cowboys vs Aliens by nidup 2018-05-01T17:07:18Z

Neat little game.

The music was a bit repetitive in my opinion and damn, was it hard to kill those machine gun guys. Simply wouldn't die in one shot.

Gameplay was pretty smooth. And it was quite cool to see all the armed guys kill each other, simply because one person is shooting around.

Well done.

GashaVroom by AidanMarkham 2018-05-06T18:51:52Z

Neat little game.

The camera wobbling around is a bit much in my opinion. Makes me dizzy. But otherwise pretty cool.

Goodnight Meowmie by DDRKirbyISQ 2018-05-04T11:44:48Z

Oh man, the ending almost made me cry.

Really cool game. Top atmosphere and great use of the theme, folks. Well done!

Also, plus points for cute cat 😉

Cartenstein by Iluvatar 2018-04-24T10:11:54Z

Cool game. I couldn't figure out the solution to the riddle (needed to watch the video for that one). I was trying things like sun, sunshine, eyes etc. But overall pretty good. The writing is really cool. Well done.

Neko Drift! by BluShine 2018-05-04T09:03:20Z

Interesting idea.

It is really hard to get into it, but with time I managed to drive somewhat steadily. I think the controls would need some more fine tuning, as I rarely had problems with the cats, but just with the controls of the car. The ensuing chaos is definitely fun to watch. Also, plus points for cats ;)

Keyboard Army by PeachTreeOath 2018-05-04T12:14:17Z

Oh no, I am way too slow at typing for this game.

But the idea is really cool and it is quite enyojable. Some sound effects wore typing a wrong letter might have been helpful. Also the TAB button to change lanes was kind of awkward.

But otherwise pretty well done. Good job.

Twine Walker by RockhopperGames 2018-05-04T12:01:23Z

Really cool idea. And very hard to read ;)

You definetly nailed the theme. Reading was pretty straining, but the game was kind of enjoyable. In a weird way.

Well done.

Felocity by Adam Wallberg 2018-04-24T13:53:25Z

Cool game. Not so easy to get into, but it is a really nice twist on the bullet hell genre.

And kittens are always a plus in my books ;)

Well done.

Card Commander by Mr.MadCat 2018-04-24T13:29:04Z

@tomavatars you can actually access all levels from the select level option in the menu, no matter if you have beaten previous levels or not. In stage 4 the enemy is hidden. you must find the path behind the walls from where the red light is.

Thank you all for the lovely comments!

Card Commander by Mr.MadCat 2018-05-04T08:42:08Z

Thank you to everyone for the comments. They are much appreciated.

@BluShine Thanks for the very elaborate feedback. Yeah, we had two main issues. First of all, we didn't have as much time as we wanted (work got in the way. Pesky thing ;) ) And secondly we didn't want to make the levels too hard, as it often seems that a common problem with game jam entries is that the levels are too hard, because the creators played them, but didn't have any other testers, without knowledge of the game.

So we had to cut short on cards and enemies, especially AI. It would have been more interesting if we could have implemented all that, but we hope that it is still fun to play for a while.

YOU LEFT ME. by Angela He 2018-04-24T12:20:44Z

Wow. That is some heavy stuff in gorgeous art.

Well done. (To stricken to say anything else.)

Nine Lives by CameronJSamuels 2018-04-24T12:41:35Z

A solid entry.

Two points of critique: 1. it is sometimes hard to click a mouse, as apparently not the entire cursor counts. 2. Interepreting species as genre is a bit far fetched in my opinion.

Otherwise well done.

Graveyard dates by Adrien Dittrick 2018-05-01T19:32:55Z

Pretty cool game.

The genre mix up works pretty well and is yet conflicting. Cool.

Well done.

My little secret (by Rapter and NomadFox) by Rapter 2018-04-25T08:49:43Z

Cool idea.

Controls weren't really intuitive to me and a little buggy on restart (no character images or textboxes). Also there is quite a number of typos.

The graphics are really good and music sets the mood pretty good.

Overall a pretty solid entry. Well done.

Type Hero Adventures by Adriano Verissimo 2018-05-06T17:18:52Z

Interesting idea.

Very cool how much emotion you manage to put on the characters face. A bit too hard for me in the later levels, but otherwise pretty cool.

Well done.

Flappy Bird + Tetirs = FLAPTRIS by Mazzletov 2018-05-04T12:08:54Z

Wow, this is difficult. Didn't complete a single line on first try ;)

Very cool idea. Triggering the explosions with the mouse was a bit confusing though.

But overall a pretty good entry.

Tsun Tsun Button Mash by Team Infernus 2018-04-27T11:48:37Z

Gameplay wise it is a bit monotone (well it's a clicker game, duh.) Graphics are pretty good and the writing is also quite funny.

Overall pretty solid. Well done.

The Secret Ingredient is Love by Miqui Gaud 2018-04-24T12:48:14Z

What did I just play? Well, who gives a f* about that anyway?

Pretty short and not much gameplay, but well polished and disturbingly funny. Well done.

Get back to work! by Glorious Kittens 2018-05-01T17:19:51Z

An interesting idea.

I feel like the game could have been improved by a bit more feedback on clicking on a worker and maybe a crosshair for aiming, so that you can see if you can click on someone or have to go closer. And you might want to consider something a bit easier on the eyes for a carpet next time.

Keep it up folks.

Offbeat Soccer by EagleEye 2018-05-06T18:59:02Z

Cool idea.

Very hard to get into, but it is working qite well. Also the western atmoshpere is pretty neat.

Well done.

Don’t die, my darling by ragalios 2018-04-24T12:06:34Z

A solid entry.

Is there any benefit to saving more than one ghost per level? I didn't notice at least. Also the final textbox seems a bit weird, as it is always the same, no matter what answers you choose.

Graphics are great and gameplay is difficult but smooth. Well done.

Crazy Cat Collector by theprint 2018-04-24T18:55:24Z

Cute game. The gameplay is a bit monotone, but that might just be how I feel about clicker games ;)

Plus points for cats :)

Space Faze by Pond Loach 2018-05-06T18:37:19Z

Neat little game.

Great job of tacking a simple concept and polishing it.

Late for Love by Gaze Team 2018-04-24T10:32:13Z

Really cool. Nice mood, great use of the theme. Overall really good. Well done.

One minor caveat is that for mouse control the area below the text where you are supposed to have your mouse is not great to use. Somehow I lost control of the car every few seconds. The area above the text field worked just fine, so I used that.
