Really interesting idea. It's very zen and reminds me of Mini Metro. It's a little confusing on the exact goal but once I figured it out it was quite fun.
Foon → Ludum Dare Explorer → LD40 → Tendril

Interesting game, I sometimes found it frustrating trying to click on the end of a tendril and missing a few times and am still not quite sure what the fail condition is, I assume it has to do with a certain number of tendrils going off screen.
This game has a really good atmosphere and connecting tendrils is satisfying, I only managed to score 40 after several attempts.
Nice game! Gets pretty hard after playing for a bit
This is a really cool and unique concept for this Ludum Dare. I agree with @cxsquared above that this game provides a zen-like experience. After playing it a few times I figured out what the goal was and found it to be pretty easy to keep playing. I do think the zooming in/out on the main menu is a little disorienting. I also think one of the nodes(5th node i think) spawned outside the screen zone even when i zoomed out. It would be interesting to see what could be added next to a game like this.
Pretty fun, panicked when the fifth one spawned and I mixed up green/yellow at the zoom level. Glad to see another Godot game ;)
I had to re-read a couple of times to get the hang of it (my fault!), and once I got the hang of it I have to say that the mechanic was quite original, with some interesting potential for expanding. I also appreciated the relaxing vibe, the ambient music was a great touch.
I got the impression that sometimes the grow rate/destruction feedback took some time to show, which made me doubt if I'd actually failed at directing the tendrils.
Other than this everything else feels pretty solid. You've done a really nice work, well done!
Haha thanks all!
Zen was definitely the idea, with a violent escalation of difficulty if the tendrils werent being kept up with (to fit the theme)
I wish I had more time to write out the game instructions (was last ~10 minutes of LD), but the fail condition is when any tendril exits the screen area that the camera can span. It was supposed to be a visible, outlined region on the map, but I ran out of time.
I'll make an update after judging is over (or read about what can and can't be updated post-jam) and add in the visible game-over border and an option in the settings to increase the "grabbable" range on the tendrils. And try to fix a small collision detection bug that sometimes makes the tendrils go through each other.
Really interesting concept, and nice audio! It's just a little hard to understand, what the player is supposed to do. If you somehow manage to lower the difficulty at the start of the game and add some small in game hints/guides/whatever, I think it would be a lot easier to learn.
Nice game, fun to play. Difficulty curve might be a bit too steep.
Very interesting gameplay idea. Nice to see something that's not a clone of something else. I like the audio design a lot. Nice!
Sorry, can't let a quality review, don't have enough time, just want to help to get out of danger zone. Overall i think game is good, keep going. Happy Holidays.
So, let's hope his gets you out of the danger zone ;)
Nice little game. Rather relaxing. I enjoyed it overall, although it was abit confusing at first, what I hat to do. But after I got that, it was fun. Good work folks.
And for future jams: go nand rate games of other poeple and leave comments. That is the best way to get enough votes and other people will be grateful for you comments.
