Pointage...
Pointage... How about flashing and points?
Great idea for a small game. It looks very pretty! There's some balance issues. At first it's really hard, but if you get a couple of archers and understand it, it gets a bit too easy. Great job anyhow!
The controls have a really nice feeling. It's maybe a bit too fast, but that must be subjective. I like it!
I think you are a bit too familiar with the Game Maker :D
Great game, good levels, nice graphics. Amazing job in 48 hours!
That's a nice puzzle game. Looks clean, works well and the music/sfx is great too! The logic behind the selected area seems very random. If you could explain it or make it easier to understand somehow, the game would be a lot better. Now it's quite hard to see why I failed and how can I improve.
709 points, almost got there!
Nice shooter! I used to love Missile Command. Gameplay is solid, but the small height of the screen and quick ramping of the difficulty makes it a really hard game. Well done, but next time, don't let player bind one key to all of the actions :D
That's a nice start for a bullet hell game. Graphics look nice and it feels good! Usually bullet hell games are not quite as brutal :D
Usually the hit box is in the center of the ship and fairly small.
A really good atmosphere! A great core idea for a horror game
Nice casual strategy game! Reminds me of rymdkapsel, which is a good thing :D
I liked the graphics and music, most of the graphics are good enough for even a longer project. Maybe a better fighting visualisation or something would have been nice, but I can't really complain about anything else.
Except when I click outside of the window, it would be nice if it didn't read the key input. I lost my progress because of that ;___;
Great tough puzzler. A couple of simpler introductory levels would help a lot getting into the game. Nice job!
I never had ZX Spectrum but I love this kind of aesthetic. Graphics and sounds fit perfectly. It just clicks with me so well. The game play seems fun at first. You have to balance going away and attacking, while switching colors... but I think the gameplay rules are a bit off. Is there any challenge? It felt to me like you can't die, if you are just a bit careful. The only challenge is to be attentive.
What a nice looking cat game! The aesthetics worked wonderfully. It's not the most shapeshifting concept though. Gameplay was pretty good, movement felt right etc. I think that the enemies were a bit tough to my liking and the hitbox could have been a lot smaller in my opinion.
The upgrade system was cool, too bad there wasn't much game to explore it.
Castlevania :)
Good gameplay, solid idea and pretty great inventory/shop system for 48 hours. I liked the robot companion, even if it didn't do much most of the time :D
Shield seemed to work constantly, but healing stopped working at some point. I'm sure you can do a lot with this if you keep working on it!
The random levels felt a bit too random to be honest. I think that generally, it's easier to create good levels instead of generating them in a short time like this. Because then you just have to figure out how to make a couple, instead of figuring out what makes a level good in general.
Great job as your first LD entry!
Nice concept for a puzzle game. I loved the sacrificing mechanic and the temple theme. Maybe you could have emphasized the transformation graphically a bit more. I didn't realize they transformed (other than color) before I read it in the description. Puzzles were fairly easy but not the easiest I've seen in this LD...
Good game, great ambience, well done!
Nice idea. It's fun, but it has a lot of balance issues. It's too easy before it's way too hard. Graphics are a bit dull too. Overall nice little game :)
What a nice looking game. The graphics are really clean. Music might need a bit of work though...
I love these kinds of games until they get too hard. This one didn't :D
Nice concept and good levels. Good work!
Funny idea! Really tedious to play but it was fun anyway :D
I really like what I get to see and hear. Alas, I can't play this because I don't have a arrow keys on my keyboard :(
My xbox360 controller works on the menu but not on the game itself...
If you have problems with the embedded version, go to the itch.io page or download the binary. I don't know how much itch.io likes hotlinking the embedded game...
A really good puzzler! Very tough puzzles, but the kind that I can just figure out if I really want to put my thought into it. It looks clean too, I could imagine seeing this bundled in some windows 3.1 puzzle game collection :D
Only bad thing about is the tutorial/introduction part. It might be a bit hard to understand for some people.
Nice idea for a simple TD/strategy game. It needs a lot of balancing but it was fun as it is :D
Nice physics platformer with actually challenging levels. Music was ok at first, but later not so much. It looked nice and was fun. Mission accomplished!
Cool rotation mechanic, but the slippery controls kind of ruined it for me :(
A neat little "clicker" game. It might be better if there was some punishment for sending people to the town. Because then you can just spam everyone there till you have maxed it out and then spam the rest of the areas...
The game is fairly easy to understand and the graphics help with that.
Love the story, it really touched me!
I would have liked to play this a lot longer! Really well finished feel. The physics/getting stuck on the wall is a bit annoying. Music is super simple, but works for the length of the game. Try to hone your skills and you'll have a great game next time. :)
Nice idea and it looks pretty great. I would have liked it if the movement control wasn't sooo slippery...
I like the game, but I can't see how you can get past the 6th level...
Great graphics!
Best part about this game is the title screen. But everything else is awesome as well. The controls felt really bad at first, but when I kept trying they started to feel fairly good. It's a really tough, but in a good way. Great job!
Fun idea. It's hard to figure out what animal/thing you can shapeshift into. That's why I usually don't think about ideas like this for long. But I applaud you for trying! Congrats on finishing your first LD!
Humor?
Such a polished game! Why don't you have more comments here? I love it, it looks, plays and sounds awesome. It's a bit short but the levels are great and there's only 48 hours anyway.
Nice and simple game with a good concept. I liked the flying poop king. Some of the levels had nice puzzles too!
Nice graphics, great movement. This is a really good implementation of the idea in 48 hours.
Actually great puzzles. I had to think! It looks really nice, plays well, the theme is good, what's not to like? Nicely done.
Nice clean graphics, good music and an original idea. Good job!
Great idea for a puzzle! I used to love sliding puzzles as a child so this was a treat :) It was a bit too easy though. I could just keep the 'C' pressed seemingly infinitely. Platforming was solid, content looks and sounds great. SFX is a bit too loud, I'd like to hear the music too. Awesome game, good job!
Great art, I love the music! But I can't play the game :D
Everything just falls so fast and ends up in a huge mess. I think I'd like this game if it didn't have all the problems. Maybe it would work better if:
it was a lot slower, max height was lower, color of the column turned more red if it was going to fail, less furniture so it's more clear?
Great game! Graphics look really neat and sharp, music is really fun. Everything works as they should, but the jumping was a bit too fast for me. I only managed to get the sandglass maybe 4 or 5 times, so I might not be the best judge. The levels seemed to get progressively harder, which is pretty amazing considering the time and game's design. Only major reason I didn't enjoy it as much as I could have was the difficulty level. But that doesn't make the game objectively worse :)
This is so tough. But it's the good kind of tough. It kills you inside but you still keep trying. And then you die again. Had to buy a new monitor because I accidentally slipped my keyboard into the old one while playing this. Finished it eventually in 2431 seconds. That's only 40 minutes for five levels! A really good game, the game play is super tight. The ion cannon wasn't useful at all though :D
Another big nitpick is a bug with ICBMs. If you stood right next to a wall on the left, it killed you x_x
I don't really see how it's related to the theme, but it's a fun little game. Took a while to get the idea behind controls, but after that it got pretty easy. The music was really nice! Well done for a first game :)
Just wow. I have to take another look at this. If you could make that experience into an interactive game(?), it would be amazing! You should really join a jam and make a game with as much atmosphere. Not much to say for negatives.
What a good way to use the theme! Great dialog too :D
I'm really bad at games like these so I didn't finish it, but it looks great. Clicking at things felt a bit hard at times but it's good enough for an LD entry. The engine looks really good otherwise :)
This was a nice smash up of two simple games. Everything seemed to work great. It was a neat feature that sometimes the pickups weren't something you wanted.
I'd criticize that it's too hard to get ammo, but maybe I'm just that bad at tetris :/
Maybe if there wasn't an 8 ammo limit, it would be easier for me :D
Great art as well, looks like a real game boy game.
Gameplay was great! At first I didn't expect much but I was blown away when I used to hookshot first time. Music was awesome, was it not yours since it's not a category? I didn't notice very well when I was hit, so that made it hard to gauge the difficulty until I died.
What a pretty game. I like the visuals a lot, music was great and even the sound effects were fine. Gameplay was great, but I felt no need to play it. Some kind of goal, clock to run against, scoring system or puzzling levels (50 gas, 0 money, pick these three guys etc) would have made it much better experience for me.
Great idea. The premade levels were a lot of fun, but after those the elements were a bit too one dimensional to carry the game. And it got really hard. The touch, animation and graphics were top notch. Awesome!
Nice play on the theme. Controls are almost perfect but shooting arrows at fights was really hard. Maybe that's good for the balance. I didn't end up using much of the melee weapons. I liked the music and story aspect a lot. Felt like a complete package instead of just a proto of a mechanic. Easy to exploit bugs too 8)
Great small level mmo roguelike. The fighting was super chaotic but considering the amount of health and randomness of the outcome. But considering the length of the game, it wasn't a bad thing. It worked well together with the funny (but awesome) soundtrack :D
Nice!
Great game! Very well executed. Really hard to grasp the logic behind it though. Would it ruin the puzzle if supporting walls were explained? One of the funniest LD games I've seen! :)
What a tough game! I didn't finish level 11 (yet!) but I'm determined to come back to it. The game has perfectly good art and the SFX are pretty good. The music is pretty bland, but it's not annoying. Amazing what you have managed to do in 48 hours. Introduction/tutorial side would have needed a bit more work. It feels very heavy to get started. If my comment sounded negative, don't worry! This has been my favorite so far :)
I have to admit, if I hadn't read the comments, I would have quit playing the endless loop :D
That's such a great twist! Great boss battle too. Can't say anything constructive :(
The menu looks so polished! Did you spend last day on it? :D At first I didn't realize that the planet is the cube. I've always liked Missile Command and this is a nice take on it. I like how each cube has one rocket. Something about the way you shoot rockets make it really hard to time the deflection. Apart from that, it's a really nice one :)
Next in line for those .io games! Nice idea for controls, but other things need a bit of scaling. Sometimes I managed to get out of the screen and at first it's really hard to find and follow the asteroids. It's a bit hard to recognize which objects are bigger than you sometimes. Good job, anyhow :)
Nice graphics, good idea. I liked that you get different endings that mean different things, even if I didn't quite understand mine. A different kind of layout with more emphasis on the quotes and more impactful quotes would have been great. Good job :)
This is pretty great! Needs some inventory window and stats, more content etc and I might play that a lot :D Really nice work for 48 hours.
Haha, what a weird mechanic. It's pretty funny actually :D. If you would have taught it better in the level design, I think people would have appreciated this more. I think I managed to finish the level or maybe I died. I hold space and I saw a flash and then I was in the main menu :(
Nice idea for the theme. Controls felt bad, but I didn't listen to you and tried to play with a keyboard! Funny graphics which worked surprisingly well. The water looks really funny :D Well done!
Haha, this is a great game! Too bad it's so short, I really enjoyed it :) Nice art assets too. Everything's great, good job! Make more of it.
Funny game! I like the idea of platforms, but I'm not sure if it's a good idea that they kill you. Maybe make the enemies harder and keep platforms as just platforms instead? Sometimes the collision with platform bugged and I died, but it's understandable. I would have liked this more if I could move the guy myself. Nice work for 48h :)
Message received :D Nice simulation, you could use that as a base for a bit more involved RTS too! Good job!
Wow! Gameplay feels smooth, sound effects are amazing and the graphics are great as well. Only thing to note is that the star field is very bright and makes projectiles hard to see.
What a nice racing game. At first I just drove till I had to get some gas and then filled up the whole tank. Didn't win that time :D The tank mechanic makes the game a lot better. I like the retro inspired graphics. The flame thrower is fun because you really have to think when to use it. I might bite you! Great stuff.
This game has so much polish and features for a compo entry it's sick. Great mechanics and stuff.
Well done clone of Qix. I used to love it when I was a child :) Graphics work, but the background and foreground could have had some texture. I wasn't sure if I could die, so it felt a bit too easy. Anyway, great mechanics. Good job!
I love your graphics. Good idea that works well with the theme. The platformer mechanics are fine, but not the most forgiving. Some jumps are super hard because you can't go through the platforms. But that could just as well be a deliberate thing. The only thing that I feel should be fixed is the jumpy camera. It would be better if it moved smoothly. Sounds are nice. I like the wind, it's not annoying and fits the game. Anyways, good job. The game looks great :)
What a great experience. Well written and the mood is perfect. The graphics are simple but they work. The style with the muted background is so good for a short jam. The best thing, though, is how the character doesn't wear pants.
I don't think I could have ever gotten a single package delivered. I really suck at physics based games like this :D I love it though. It has so much character with the can wheels, soundtrack and everything. It reminded me of Sexy Hiking and similar awesome b-games. What a wonderful mess. Great job :)
Nice implementation of the drinking idea! The music worked great for the game and it didn't start to feel too repetitive because of the effects. And the effects were great! I loved how it progressed after every drink. Maybe some motion blur would have been a nice add to them :) It was a really tough game though. Usually I get annoyed by games that require this much patience, but I just had to get another beer. Great job!
This is brutal :D Good mechanics but they get hard really fast. Pixel art is great. The background and arena border look nice as well, but I'm not a fan of mixing high res art with pixel art. I wasn't even happy with my game where I had to draw most of the graphics two times bigger than the car :/ Nice game, I liked the idea. Good job :)
Funny game, nice concept. You could almost use it for education :D Sound/Music was nice too.
Haha, nice idea for the theme! The mechanics are so good for only 8 hours. The seesaw could use some balancing, but beyond that, it's fun. Good job!
Game with super good graphics and simple mechanics. I only played it alone so I probably lost most of the point of the game :|
Cool mechanics! I love blinks/dashes in games like these. Couldn't make it to the end but I might try again. The fighting mechanics need a bit more polish, but I understand that there's not infinite amount of time for that :) Sometimes I felt that if I just dash endlessly at the enemies, I can't lose. Sometimes I just die instantly. Graphics are great and music/sound effects nice too. Good job!
Thanks, good suggestions! The shots never go through if the collision detection works. It's always a bug :(
It seems that I forgot to upload the latest version of the WebGL build :( I'm not sure if the Windows version is the latest. If I remember correctly, the bugs I fixed made the game easier, so it shouldn't be too hard now :D
Great retro action game! Nice difficulty, didn't finish all the levels on first try but I didn't get frustrated either. I like the tile graphics, nice and clean. The shadow is a nice touch as well. At first it felt really bad that up is up with mouse aiming. I would have prefered strafing and going forward. After a while I did learn to play with the controls, so it's not a big deal I guess. I feel like the best start on the first level was just spam the bat. I couldn't figure out how to dodge and time my hits. Maybe it's just me. I played this on macbook with touchpad. It runs well, but I couldn't switch my weapons. I seemed to do fine with just one weapon / level anyway. All in all, great game. Great music and sfx! :D
What a pretty game! The modular space ships are so cool! The upgrades could have been bigger, so they could look better. If there was a splash screen at the start that would explain it all, it would be easier to just jump in to the game. Too bad the enemies didn't do anything but fly towards you, I felt like I could keep going forever. I had to stop because the weapon system broke down too much :D I had lots of fun though! So broken :D
It's always nice to play a "full game" with a beginning and an end. This sure has some good old retro quality in it. The attack seeming to be about half the player sprite gets a special mention. The game would be a lot more enjoyable if the attack had a bit more reach and the animation would show the attack's hitbox a bit better. If that makes sense. The music and sound effects were nice, but the tap dancing wizard was a bit weird :D Good job, I had fun :)
This was fun, but wait. I wanted to fight the Red Demon :(
Great entry! Graphics are good and consistent. Mechanics work surprisingly well, the moving speed was not too fast but not too slow either. The lever cam was a really good idea!
I enjoy puzzle games with nice simple mechanics like these. Really enjoyable game. I didn't care too much when the crab nest had one heart but I couldn't kill it with one hit :( Thanks for the experience~
This is a really good entry! Too bad you haven't rated enough games to get ratings yourself :( Graphics are great, music fits. Awesome vampire action
Crazy hard, but well made. The UI is clean and clear. Nothing really bothered me. Well done :)
Nice writing and atmosphere. I grew up with NES and this is really nice :) Good mechanics too, didn't bother me too much. Getting stuck on rafts and other things bothered a bit. Awesome work!
I love crows! This is a nice concept. After I had +60 crows steering felt difficult and I ended up smashing them in to the castle wall. Nice SFX and atmosphere.
Cool intro, not sure how it ties up with the game :D The movement controls feel very random and floaty which made me really sad. Fighting was also a bit random, so I figured I try to skip all the enemies. Good effort though :)
Funny game! The controls were a bit floaty. Moving with wasd and aiming with mouse would have been better in my opinion. It's always a pleasure to hear acoustic music on jam games :)
Very grindable game :D I liked the openess of the world with the danger zones. It was up to me when I wanted to get more challenge :)
The character design is pretty good, crouching especially :D Music was great too. Jumping was way too inconsistent. This seems to be the first jam game for three of you. Pretty nice if so! Keep at it. Oh and I expected body parts flying around because of "excessive gore" :(
Charming game! I finished it without the gun because shooting felt like throwing away money. But it was fun anyway. And the upgrades are so good. Nothing beats the feeling of catching three of those red bastards with one net >:D Well, to be honest I did use the gun, after all the upgrades I just shot some of them. Hahaha, die! Walking was a bit tedious, maybe the level was too big. But the game was short so it was fine in the end. Inserting the gems at the end was very exciting.
Nice game. It's a bit too short :( I liked the art and the game was very clear. Couldn't notice any bugs either.
Cool game! I have no idea how to beat it but it has lots of good stuff going for it :D Well done!
Amazing art, idea and execution. Strategy games with (half) autonomous workers/fighters are always very interesting. Trying something like this in a jam is pretty cool. And you did it well! It was a bit easy, but for the first level, I think the difficulty is nice. Good job.
5/5 sfx! Player's jump is way too low to get past the kids, so it gets really annoying. Graphics are nice :)
Cool concept. I like that you had actual bacteria/viruses in the game. The graphics are great too :) Too bad it didn't quite work with the balancing it has. The play time should be longer to have time to learn things. It shouldn't throw multiple bacteria at you at the beginning because it's hard to keep track of all of them. I get that the "years lived" is a score, but thematically it's very strange that your years lived goes down if you do stuff... Good job anyway :)
I don't know what to say. The blood cell mission is beautiful and it has a great sense of speed. On the other hand the neuron mission seemed boring and the cell moved way too fast. On top of that there were some typos that really annoyed me. The art in this was pretty cool though. Good job :)
Nice graphics and sounds! Very playable but some things bug me. It's hard to figure out when the hit actually registers and how to fight not getting hit. Another problem is that the upgrade menu uses the same button as fire. Anyway, the character design is great and I had fun playing the game :)
Nice game. I didn't finish it but I liked it :D I like the art style a lot. Falling apart on death is cool! It's supposed to be "extra lives" but the level restarts when you die, even if you have extra lives. Maybe have puzzles where you need to lose lives but you end up having enough at the end anyway? I don't really like the leaps of faith some levels had. All in all, good stuff!
All around good puzzle idea and implementation. I encountered a couple of bugs but they were more cosmetic. I failed the second level and the game started from the beginning. Usually in puzzle games like these, you can try the current level multiple times. The art and sounds were pretty good. The minimalism fits this game very well. Good job :)
@quinn-patrick The theme was Keep it alive and the point of the game was to keep the engine alive. I know it's annoying :D
Fun experiment. I've made a game with the idea of just "painting" graphics like that as well. It was fun! I like the animations too. Good luck for the next one!
This is crazy. You've manage to do some much! I don't even know what to write. Sometimes it's not that clear who's turn it is but then again, you can look at the left panel. The shooting mechanic is really fun too. I'm blown away!
The gif on game profile page sells the game really well. It looks really cool, but in the game the color palette feels a bit weird. The color choices are interesting, but maybe it needs some tweaking. I like the basic idea. Maybe it was a bit too grand to fit in a 48h jam, though. The mechanics seems overly simple and it has some usability problems that make it a bit hard to understand. The tips section is hard to notice at first and when you do, you don't know how many tips you missed. Maybe some kind of help menu with all of them visible would be nice. When you change the target and the camera changes, you could use a cinemachine camera to (quickly) pan/move the camera to point the other target instead of switching instantly. It would be easier to understand what the new point of view is. I like the models a lot, everything looks great. Music is really good too :)
Pretty good basics. It would have been nice to see some more mechanics or more complex puzzles. I played it through without picking up Walter. Maybe there could have been something that required it. The level that introduced the chasing enemies seemed a bit unfair. I left Walter at the door and went to open it, thinking there's nothing that reacts too fast. Fortunately the AI was too stupid to actually reach Walter. Nice use of simple graphics, good stuff :D
This is a very unique game mechanic. It's not very well implemented though. The small distance between nodes and very fast pace of the game made it really hard to get the right node to expand. That made it feel random and frustrating. Roots dying was interesting. Graphics are cute and work great though. Good entry overall :) I think I'll give it another go!
I started the game and immediately felt stressed :D Nice implementation of a simplistic tamagotchi. Sounds are fine and the music works well. I have it play on the background when I'm writing this and it's not annoying at all. I think there's a slight hiccup when it's supposed to loop. Good idea and I think it was nice to include the source for the joke :D
Some things here are super cool and some not so much. The platforming mechanics are crazy chaotic. First I thought I managed to cheat by wall jumping because it looked to bugged. The player characted animation is raelly good looking. Cool game but the theme is a bit of a stretch...
This was brilliant :D I tend to dislike "pixel art in high res graphics" but this works somehow. Although the explosion art is too low res to my liking. The water looks very lovely. The music and sound effects are very nice. The fact that enemies are kamikaze monkeys wraps this all up in a very cohesively random fun game. Good job!
Whoa, pretty complex game for a compo entry. And it works so well! I can think of some usability ideas though. It would be nice to be able to easily move objects. Often I needed something to be one block away and I had to click a lot to make it happen. Loved the puzzles and graphics. Awesome!
I'm pretty sure using photos that you haven't taken yourself is simply against the compo rules. Not that bad idle game in terms of mechanics, but the upgrades are completely free. The story is awful though, sorry. UI is pretty good, but scroll bars are so annoying if mouse scroll doesn't work :(
Everything seems to be ok. Controls are ok, graphics are great. Sound effects and music are fine. But I don't get it. Crops should grow in 5 days, but I didn't really know what to do. I checked the meters and pressed some buttons for a couple of days but I still didn't feel like I was doing anything. The pacing should be a lot faster probably, I don't know. I guess it's more realistic this way :D Good job anyway. The lighting was awesome!
Haha, what? This is something for sure, right? It made me feel a thing, perhaps? Sounds great, looks great... must be great?
What a silly dog! Somebody should take it to see a vet! ) I didn't get all the things and accidentally went to the next level. Sad times :( Nice shaders and models and other stuff!
Graphics are very good! I wish there was more game to it than this. I ended up fighting at the "safe zone", so there wasn't much more to do than to watch. Sounds effects are alright. At first I laughed that the music sounds like another "progammer art" piece. But at the end it evolved and started to sound pretty cool. Good job! I hope to see some more gameplay next time :)
I like the start of the game. The tiles are a bit too big, which makes everything seem so empty. I didn't manage to beat the night and it got very repetitive. I wish it had more exploration and such and the action parts would be shorter in between. Graphics were nice. Good job :)
Funny little tamagotchi. A bit weird to have him work for you though...... Anyway sound department was pretty good. Music wasn't annoying at all and most of the sound effects were nice. The training sound effect hurt my ears a bit. I don't really get the training mechanic without reading the explanation. Some indicators for that might be nice. Current day number might be nice to see as well, then you could really understand if you are doing better than the last run. Nice job!
Nice art :) Good idea, but maybe not for this theme. Basically any game where you can die counts, but I don't really like that way of thinking. Mechanics worked well, but maybe they were a bit too simplistic. Most of the levels could be finished by just going right or left and jumping a bit. Good effort anyway!
Haha, nice. I've kind of wanted to do a minigame collection as well. I guess this kind of shows well why not to do it. The games are a bit too simple. They control in a non cohesive way: two of them clearly have UI components (typing and lock) but only locking is an actual button, the other one requires keyboard. The last one has the wheels which are not very clear UI components. And the games should explain themselves. I had to play the game windowed to read the explanations. Graphics are good though and the minigames work well, no bugs seemingly. I like the sounds as well, but the beeping is a bit too stressing :D Good job overall!
Weird little game. I was hoping to be able to grow and eat the houses too but I guess that wasn't part of the plot :D I didn't feel like I was in any danger at all. The game would feel a bit less janky if the edible objects were triggers, so you wouldn't smash into them all the time. Good job anyway!
Graphics and sounds are nicely done. The gameplay seems to work fine but it's super confusing to get into. UI could use some icons like apples instead of just colors. Before I understood the store, I smashed E on it until I had 0 pink ones. Then later I ran out of water and the store only accepted sets of fruit that had pink as well. I didn't have any pink trees planted, no water left and no pink seeds left. Sad M2tias :( Good job anyway, a bit confusing but cool concept!
I'm so bad at rhythm games and the weirdly aligned buttons made this impossible for me :D Everything felt to be in rhythm and work, so good job! The music was nice too. Maybe leave low contrast letters under the tiles or fade them out after some time so it's easier to get into it.
This is pretty simple and the idea is nothing new, but you made it feel so good to shoot the things :D Good job! The music was nice and retro. Keep on making games!
The 3D/2D mixed art is pretty cool. You have some cool shaders as well. Maybe you spent a bit too much on those? It was a bit hard to get the game at first. I wanted to loot the boxes, so I walked to them and then I didn't get the tutorial text until I restarted. The music makes me want to stop playing LD games completely. This has a lot of potential though!
Nice looking game, wouldn't have guessed it your first! It plays nice but the second ability seems a bit annoying because the droplet runs away so fast. I liked the lighting effects but I would have liked to have the camera a bit further away, so you could see more. The music was literally random notes, but it didn't annoy me as much as I thought :D Good job!
I have to say it's a pretty good one for your first LD. Some issues mentioned here make it really hard to keep playing after the first death. Shooting and moving worked well. The water splashing was cool idea, but you should keep the "move water" and "shoot" buttons separate. I ended up shooting a lot of the drops because of that. I liked the characters and how the flower lost its petals. Good job!
Nice work. I like the pixel art and the way you implemented the idea. Some bugs really frustrated me. Sometimes I'd grab previous item from a far away when I tried to grab something else. The second camera was really cool addition. Some more to do would have been nice.
Nice game for a first entry. Platforming mechanics seem to be good, that's very important. Art is fine, but a bit random. Too bad the main game is so simple and getting a good result seems to be more about luck than skill, because the enemy moves so fast. Wouldn't mind seeing something more complex next time!
Really nice art! Some nice dialog too but it's a combination of genres I don't generally gravitate towards :D
I wasn't paying too much attention when I jumped in. I assumed this was a first person 3D game, which to me would make more sense. When I checked the first spoiler on the game page, it was a lot easier to figure stuff out. I almost go to the end and I had a good time. I really love the piano, sound effects and voice acting. I was surprised that there were many different lines when I died. After I had had enough, I checked the map and I had a completely different idea of what was happening. I wish you had a cheat button built in that let me see stuff, so I could play around and see what sfx/voice lines happend and when :D I think the biggest problem for me figuring out where I am was that I wasn't sure when I fell. Maybe it was clear and I assume I was on a platform when I wasn't. Can't be sure :D Btw, if you make a game where the player/chacater is essentially blind, maybe don't ask the player to draw a map. :D At least to me it sounds a bit weird. I might be able to draw, but I couldn't read it without seeing it.
Your final score is : 553 Interesting game. Reminds me of DOS games like Pipe Dreams/Pipe Mania :D Maybe having smaller levels with themes, puzzles or growing difficulty could make this better. It was a pretty big task that felt daunting at first. But I made it through!
Oh boy. I should have read the comments before I played this. I wanted to see how it ends. Well... It doesn't. Well done anyway! Graphics are great, controls better than you made us think and sounds are ok. Sounds and the "level design" are probably the worst offenders. Leaving out music worked for me, it felt natural. That does leave the soundscape fairly barren, so more sound effects are needed. The pickup sound was nice, but it was painfully obvious there was only one that you pitch shifted. It got very jarring :( The way the buildings were scattered was a negative for me. I spent most of the time driving from refinery to the power station and back, hoping to find enough gems between those places. The map was too chaotic to go too far and since the buildings were far apart, I didn't want to go explore the map. If there was a central hub with few gems and all the buildings, I'd be forced to go explore. All in all, well made, I played this for way too long! :D
I didn't finish the game, but I'm surprised there's an actually good shooter and not just a POC! Really well made. It was lots of fun. It was a bit hard to look at with the emulator. Nicely done!
Hey, this was a fun way to make an unstable game. I like the modifiers. Some balancing and cleaner gameplay would make it a bit more playable. Now it was a bit chaotic and I had no problem playing with the glitches until the last level. I couldn't do anything anymore because I was invisible and took constant damage or something. If you worked on your graphics it would add a lot to the entries. Gameplay, ideas and sound are good. Work on the graphics and you'll get much better results for sure :) My biggest problem with this game was the floor texture. Small squares like that with high scrolling speed was pretty annoying. Other than that, good job!
This is so polished! Really good UI work and a nice puzzler. The visual side was 5/5. Only thing I can think of that could have made it better is that the factory doesn't pop from the other "background art". Since I'm too lazy to read the descriptions unless I run into problems I didn't realize it was there at first. But I did finally notice it on my own. Music and sfx were spot on as well! Biggest problem with this game was that it didn't get challenging fast enough. I just bruteforced my way until I found a word and the time limit didn't really bother me.
Haha, fun game :D It was easy while keeping my attention very well. Good combo for a jam game! Graphics were mostly alright, but felt really rushed. The screen with the effect was cool though!
I'm surprised I made through it without feeling sick. This is so nice! Funny idea, good graphics, great soundtrack and implemented very well. Best part was bumping down the walls :D Interesting choice to use the default probuilder material in the first scene, but it seemed to fit the concept. Well done!
Great art, love the 2.5D, sound/music was good. Lots of good here. The jumping is not fun. Floating upwards is slow and feels bad and I'm scared I'll fall any second to my doom. More traditional jumping would be way easier to learn. I jumped around a while, gathered 190/100 crystals, died and didn't understand what I should have done. Oh well, it was pretty good. Art especially. Well done!
Weird but interesting game. I think I understood the rules, but then sometimes the level refreshed randomly. I thought I died. After reading the comments I realised that the level rotated. I'm not sure I understand the game at all :D The art of the ships is nice, but the other stuff is a bit lacking. Music and sounds were good. Well done!
I love the idea that you can shoot obstacles but the make the level unstable! At some points of the map I felt that I had to shoot them to progress. That's fine in a general sense, but you'd have to be very careful that the player doesn't end up in a situation where it's the last one before the game is over. The graphics are great. If you made the background a bit less bright, it might be easier to see what's background and what's not. Level design was mostly great. I felt that I was going around in circles, but I guess it was a big spiral? :D Awesome!
This was fun! :D
It had a nice amount of mechanics: cutting trees, fighting, upgrades... But it lacked a lot of polish. Biggest gripe for me was the sprites. If you make a game with pixel art, you should make sure the pixels of different sprites are the same size. One of the trees had pixels four times as big as others.
Fighting was the biggest surprise. It would have been much more fun if there were sound effects and/or some visual effects. Maybe some particles (blood?) or just make the enemy or player flash if they take damage. Now didn't know if I did anything before the wolf was dead.
You should really try to get at least one screenshot of the game. More people might be interested to try it :)
It was nice that it wasn't endless survival, but there was an ending. Lots of potential in this one. Good entry!
Pretty cool aesthetic. I bet 24 hours (jam) would have made it so much better. I'm not sure if the boat was supposed to look like that or if it was rushed, but handrails would have been nice. I was afraid I'll drop. The game had a nice calm atmosphere, but the gameplay was chaotic and panicked. I wish it would have been slower or completely different, so I could have enjoyed the experience calmly. Well done!
Well made artsy fartsy indie experience. Art and music fits perfectly. My only issue with art is that sometimes the pixels are massive. Lovely relaxing mood fits the gameplay. I might love fishing too if I had a fishing rifle!
Amazing art! Sound effects and music were very good as well. It was a bit short and lacked content, but it's understandable. Good entry, might be worth to keep working on it :)
Those physics are... interesting :D At least I could drive completely off road to not bother with the collisions. The art is nice but I guess you ran out of time to do the track and scenery? Music was fun too. Punchy and worked well with the game. Good job!
You might be new but this was great. The ship was pretty slow but the mechanics are good! Art isn't that bad either. Keep working at it and you'll do well! Good entry :)
Nice to see a pico8 entry with a mouse support! Interesting use for fluid mechanics. I had fun. Art is good and music works. Well done :)
I couldn't quite make it but it was interesting enough to try multiple times! Art was pretty nice and music was great. The sound effects were maybe a bit too loud. Really well designed for a one button game. Nice entry!
This is a really good entry! It was fun to play, looks pretty good and sound effects were nice. Some of the voice samples were creepy and others were funny in a weird way. The ticking clock was such a nice addition too. Nicely done!
I saw your posts during LD and it was nice to stumble upon this game on the smart sorting :) This is a good looking game with some really cool inventory/placement/grid mechanics. But the mechanics are also a bit lacking which makes it's so confusing to understand what's happening at first. Rotating an object without any indication that it's selected is a strange feeling :D I had to restart like 6 times to figure out which resources I should start mining first to do things I thought I needed to. After that everything seemed to start make sense. I like factory style games but sadly I think the triangle shaped tiles make it a lot less enjoyable. So easy to run out of space around tiles. All in all, impressive entry!
Intro was well done but it felt a bit too long for a jam game. Hard to say how to cut it out. Maybe give some basics, let player play while the rest of the audio plays out? Game play was way better than I expected with a game like that, well done. I thought you could change the target of the radar, but the key didn't work? Anyway, I might steal that idea ;) Nice entry!
Haha, this could be a nice minigame for some wario ware style thing :D Nice UI elements!
This art is so good! It looks really clean. Game mechanics were great, I completely forgot I was playing a jam game. Love it!
Nice base mechanics for a shooter! I noticed that the gun looked very different to the other art. It seems to be something you downloaded from the internet. The UI as well. I hope that you'll join again, but maybe read the rules carefully. This kind of game is ok in the Jam format, but not in the Compo format you joined.
Nice driving game mechanics! Accelerating and smashing on stuff is lots of fun. The minimalistic graphics are well done but sometimes I felt like driving inside an Ikea warehouse with all the cardboard boxes. Music was good but didn't quite fit the mood. Summer was saved \o/
I see that all critique has already been covered, so no need to repeat those. Looks ok and plays well. Fun little game! It certainly has a better inventory system than most entries of similar mechanics. Well done! Loved the farty gun sounds.
Controls are great! I've seen so many mouse based controls that are annoying. The art is fine. It's clear and functional, but I guess it could be prettier. Interesting idea but I guess it get's a bit simple after a while. Maybe different enemies or something would have made it more long-lasting. Nice entry overall :) Why can't I play it on full screen on browser? I have a big display and it would be way more nice to play it on fullscreen instead of a tiny embed :(
Really unique puzzle mechanic and it was used so well in the game. Amazing! Graphics were good, music was nice. Perfect entry?
At first it was kind of hard to understand why I should be running straight at trees and stones, but I guess I get it :D The music loop was nice but it was way too short. You shouldn't put all the movement controls in one if-else. Then if I'm still holding up when I want to go left, the caravan goes up. Basically I'd read the inputs in the order you do, separate ifs and then ignore the direction that was pressed last frame. Fun idea and great implementation. Well done!
Well made basic arcade game. I'm not sure if the sprites are made that way by design or due to time constraint. It feels a bit weird but on the other hand it works with the intro and the UI. Maybe if they were animated in a stop motion style, it would look intended. Anyway, charming little game. Well done :)
I had the same idea as you! :D I just wanted to try solo 3D entry. Nice graphics, solid gameplay. Pretty easy until it was impossible. I had some balancing issues as well. Different weapons was a nice inclusion. Overall good stuff :)
This reminds me of the old indie games from the golden era like Cave Story. Amazing mood! I couldn't find my way around but seemed really nice. Well done!
Alright... Everything seems to work just as intended. Lots of voice acting is always cool! Graphics are great as well! Nicely done!
Interesting experiment. Too bad I was the only one online :D
Well balanced tower defense game. It was addicting! I would like to play more, but I have to rate more games :D Nice art as well. I wish there were like three lives or something.
At first I flew straight at the first enemy because it looked like a typical powerup in shooters :D Nice gameplay mechanics. Some of the art looks nice, some look not so nice :D Maybe a more coherent art style would have been the best choice. Music was great! Sound effects worked well too. Nice entry overall.
Nice basic mechanics. Keep working on games and I'm sure we'll see some really good stuff :)
This is a creepy game! I'm not sure if pulling is the best action to move objects against the wall... I guess that makes it interesting? This felt like a game where you can never reach the state where you are satisfied as a player... Graphics are nice, but I wish the boxes were drawn too.
Cool game! Art is great over all. It was really hectic. It would be nice if the falling blocks didn't start right under the player. Well done!
Art is great, the small palette works really well. But at least for me the size of the embed makes the pixel size vary between the pixels. It's really annoying for me. I zoomed the page a bit which fixed it. Gameplay worked great. Would have loved to see a bit more of it though :)
Great art! The ground tiles are so good! Like the little story blurbs and the upgrades too. Got all the upgrades before I quit. Well done!
This is so clean, wth! I wish I could do clean stuff like this :D Nice mechanics, it had a suprisingly interesting gameplay. You kind of forget how deep you are and then it's too late. Sounds/music was good as well. Nice and chill entry :)
Nice intro, nice art. Gameplay was ok, but I'm not sure. I didn't see any indicator what power level my laser was and which laser I had selected. It took me way too long to understand what I was doing :D It was very good first jam entry though. Keep it up :)
This has a nice early 2000s clickteam game feel. Gameplay is well implemented too :)
Haha, what an entry! At first I was flying around stressed trying to get the asteroids. Then I realised that I can just shoot through everything so I stood in one place. It was fun :D
I couldn't move with WASD after the game eventually started and then I died. After death the intro started again and it's way too long to see if I could move after :(
Hey, saw your post about the results and so I tried the game. Pretty nice arcade puzzler! It seems people aren't very good at it though. Here's my highscore
hyperharvest_highscore.PNG
Good looking art but the bear feels a bit too shaded to fit in maybe. The mechanics and controls worked well but the planting etc. was a bit confusing at first. Cool idea for sure. Too bad the progression wasn't very meaningful.
This is so cool! The models are nice and eating the grass is pretty satisfying. The gameplay is pretty frustrating though and so are the controls :D No idea how to make it any better... The camera angle + precision + mouse controls seem like a hard puzzle to solve.
Graphics are nice, but the gameplay was a bit too simplistic. Maybe the harvesting could have been a bit more interesting somehow.
And I thought the blood orange I had for breakfast would be the juiciest thing today. Not even close! This was so much fun compared to other typing games.
The game looks amazing! I really don't want to listen to myself though. I tried bouncing the apples again and the flew so high I never saw them again... Game seems to work well besides that. Neat idea and implementation :)
Good basics for a clicker game. Main issues were that pigs and other stuff were drawn on top of each other and that there weren't any surprising unlocks later. Nice job!
Hey, congrats on the #1 in fun! I beat the game on second try after I put some points on the faster eating. This really was a fun game. Well done :)
This game was so cool! The story with the lore of light roses felt like something straight from anime or JRPGs :D The 10 levels was a nice length for a jam game and it did get pretty difficult at the end. Well done! The ascii art was interesting choice but it worked out nicely :)
I didn't quite understand most of the tiles, but I only had to restart one level a couple of times to reach the max O2. Seems like there's a lot of potential. You managed to make tons features and the art is pretty nice as well. Good job!
My KPIs were on point playing this game!
Cool idea and mostly well implemented game! Always nice to hear recorded music in the entries, even if it was a bit too short and loud :D I just couldn't finish the game because I don't feel like trying to remember 10+ pieces to figure out how to place them...
You have no idea how much I love the driving mechanics after playing way too many _awful_ driving games here :D Really nice feel and the upgrades were fun. Didn't finish on the first try and then I had to clear the browser cache so I could reset the crystal count. Lots of fun!
Cool game. I really enjoyed it but had to quit before finishing because I rolled 99.999% cakes (maybe a bit less, but felt like that) and I didn't understand how I got more than one wasted time and sometimes lost time even if I did (I thought at least) finish a house. I like the presentation and the idea a lot. Maybe some other mechanic than rerolling would have been better. I'm sure it would have been a lot more complex and therefore not something you can do in a jam. Maybe you can keep working on this. There are a lot of puzzle and dice games on mobile, why not make one out of this? :) Biggest problem was the rules/tutorial part. I'd rather either read those things in the LD entry page or itch.io page or maybe make a separate main menu with a tutorial section. The font was too pixelated and the layout was very chaotic. Got through it though, so no biggie. Nice entry!
Beyond the customs box being confusing the mechanics were very impressive! I love how the packages pile up until the overflow to the scale :D I really like the graphics too. Pixel art textures on boxy models is always great. Too bad the level feels off being cylindrical. Awesome entry!
I was scared that I put 35 minutes into this playthrough but then I noticed another comment doubting the time. Phew! Pretty good game. It's really annoying that walking against wall makes you slower. You can probably fix that if you make a physics material with 0 friction. Sharing only the scripts is a bit weird... You could just share the whole project. The project files are part of it too. :D
What a nice abstract take on the theme. Really nice! I'm too lazy to read what others have written so I hope I don't repeat. I feel like it got a bit boring before it got too hard. Maybe introducing the colors and more complex patterns faster would have made it more exciting. Hard to say. The mouse was somehow weird from time to time. Maybe allowing some movement along the non-radial axis (or however you'd call it) as well would have made it a bit less weird? But the gameplay is really smooth though!
The controls are so good. And the difficulty is just spot on for my liking. A bit of rage but just the right amount that I only blamed myself. I really like the crayon graphics too. Well done!
1100 on the second try. The bounces are so hard to judge, I bet you could get way more points. Nice entry! The graphics have a nice DOS game feeling.
This seems very complicated for a compo game! Maybe you are good at UI stuff and it was a breeze. Pretty nice game!
This was fun! The music fits very well like someone said and the graphics are good for the genre. It was easy to play after some misunderstandings. Maybe I was just too lazy to read carefully. I placed the first research station way off and that hurt a lot...
Lovely art! I noticed the warping through the bushes glitch as well. Too bad I can't glitch past the river. It's too strong!
I think the QWOP was a great choice. I don't get why people are complaining. Nice simplistic art style. I wish there was a bit more time at the start to get in to the groove and then make it slowly faster. I guess the biggest missing piece is the lack of music! Otherwise really well made.
This reminds me of my first entries. Nice, keep it up!
I never played an Atari 2600 game. Now I feel like I have! I really like the political commentary that when city needs more roads, they just destroy all the buildings. At least I had a bug where the road upgrade made all the houses disappear. Didn't really affect the gameplay though. Games with upgrades are always so addicting. Good stuff!
The graphics are pretty cool. The smooth riding through the squiggly roads was nice! I would have appreciated a fullscreen support, but zoom helped. Nice stuff!
I get the criticism you have received so far. I feel like I got lucky in that I understood the upgrades and the best strat at the beginning so it didn't feel /too/ slow. I think the slowness is part of it and pastelly color palette and the music really works with that. Edit: I still keep clicking on the upgrades.
Love the mood, graphics and mooving in the game. Winter scene is spot on! The rope throwing felt really hard. I think I got less than half of my ropes to go where I wanted them to. Since the level is based on cubes, maybe you could have given us a mouse cursor and snapped it to a cube with a raycast. I really wanted to look at the source code but I guess jam entries don't have to share it :( Anyway, lovely moody entry, thanks!
I've never heard of Spline.design before, interesting! Music is nice and art is really good. I crushed all the bugs but I think they are coming back when I go to sleep... Maybe this is the start of a new genre: cozy horror.
I was going to shutdown my PC but I noticed the thumbnail of this game and had to try it. Regrettably, I didn't listen to the game because I had a podcast on but I had to beat level 3 after I started. After a while I finally managed and seems like I got the highscore out of this comment section :D I usually think to stay away these kinds of games because I feel like I wouldn't have a fresh enough take. This game is pretty simple but it feels fresh enough. Pretty cool idea for a puzzler. Sometimes trying to make a line doesn't quite work, but the game isn't that hectic that it would matter much. Good job, I had fun! snake_sleuth.PNG
Nice sprite work! I saw the little thumbnail and had to play your game. It was just as retro as I hoped for. Apart from trying to get up the ladders and walking over them on the top everything worked great. I wish there was a pickup sound effect, it's always so satisfyings. Congrats on finishing a nice and complete game :)
This game makes me feel so stupid but also like I'm learning! I played some matches and didn't do that well. In the last one I got three letters for a city name and I was so sure there isn't one like that. It was the closest capital to mine... Everything is so juicy and smooth in the typical Antti fashion. It's a fun idea and a joy to play! Only criticism I have is that sometimes the UI elements are a bit annoying popping up when I don't want them or text (like city names) are covered up by other things.
Hey, this was a fun entry! Maybe a bit too hectic but at least nobody gets bored :D The music sounded interesting but the sound effects completely drowned it out. Maybe lower the sfx next time, so we can enjoy the music as well. Like people already mentioned many times, the art is cool and I like the hand drawn text. I was thinking of combos as a good way to improve the gameplay but the last commenter already mentioned it.
Neat game. I think there's a lot of possibility for more depth in this. I liked the controls and how the Tinies moved a lot. I don't know if I should have done more micro attacking the enemies but I feel like there was no way to beat the game. I don't think I did anything wrong... Seeing that others beat the game, I guess that I'm just bad at this :D Anyway, I like the Pikminness of it and see the potential. Nice work!
It's short, it's simple but it's really nice! Had to go for the speedrun and after billion tries I finally got good enough random seed to get under the current best time. Did you watch the new Penguin show, somehow your way of speaking reminds me of the main character in that show :D davidvsgoliath.PNG
Everything is pretty good art is nice, music is good and gameplay works. Though, it doesn't take too long to get boring. There was one circular wave of big baddies. Maybe more of stuff like that would have helped. I wish there was some other mechanic to spice things up. My wrist hates me for clicking frantically for 5 minutes straight.
At first I was like "oh, another weird platformer" but boy do I love throwing those larvae and stuff around! I really like that not only can you throw them but you also don't have to go "place" them after. I won when the timer was 00:00. Not sure if there was a check at the end of the timer if my last ant was just about done. If there was that's genius because the last second ending was really exciting! Too bad you didn't have time for any animations or sounds. The humor was great, art fit well and was cute and the platforming mechanics worked nicely. Good job!
Cool game! I was happy how everything was in balance and alt-tabbed away for a second. Suddenly I have no grass and 50+ bunnies. Managed to claw myself back to a more balanced place though. Music was awesome, art is really good and the game just works flawlessly. At least the Bunny is pretty ugly at times because it's scaled down I think. And maybe there could be some visible end goal so there would be something to aim for. Good job!
Ooh, I love the click when you hover the hexes. There's just something so nice about it. Pretty well made puzzle game. Too bad it ends just when it has taught you all the mechanics. One or two really puzzling levels would have made it perfect. On the other hand I was just about to run out of my folk so even one more level would have probably been a game over. Graphics were so nice too. Making a game with Go and using a live coding platform for music is pretty crazy! Good job!
Beautiful graphics with rotating pixels hurt my pixel elitist soul. But I won't let it affect my rating, your sprites are really beautiful. Everything worked together pretty well except the blurry grass at the front. While playing I was thinking this is The War of Attrition: The Game but eventually I got to the boss. I would not have made it to the boss without the addicting upgrade loop. I really liked the powerups but gathering XP felt wrong to me. Some other mechanic for the XP orbs would have been better. Maybe make the float at the speed of the enemies. That would for you to move a lot vertically to catch them before they are gone. Then maybe the XP magnet could be less effective and permanent as well. I didn't take much damage until the boss and almost died during it which felt a bit of a jump in difficulty. But I didn't and I finished the game! Well made overall and I had lots of fun. Thanks!
Nice and cozy tower defense :) It was a bit slow, but better slow than way too fast. It was hard to get any value out of the bees reproducing until the last level and even then the enemies rarely got as far as my flower colonies were. But it was a great idea for a game mechanic!
Wow, this has a lot going on! All the physics, platforming, grabbing stuff and using them. I really loved throwing the people through windows from the top of the building to their safety. Maybe I should become a firefighter :) This would work as a game with humans and faulty electronics or whatever but you came up with a really nice way to include the theme as well. Only bad things about this game is that the tutorial is a bit confusing because you don't know what the goal is before the fire starts and that the levels are pretty trivial after you come up with this strat: smash your way through to the closest window, defenestrate. Anyway, really well made and enjoyable entry!
Mood is on point and I love the music. I wish the excitement came from the gameplay and not from me being unsure if this causes carpal tunnel...
I liked how my screen turned brown when after vacuuming hundreds of butterflies and caught them all at once. I wish the upgrades got even more crazy but it was pretty crazy already. Nice job! I like this kind of over the top crazy but wholesome and chill.
It is pretty impressive that you even dared to make a game like this. Graphics are pretty nice and clean. Gameplay is pretty annoying trying to look for all the possible arrows. I think the up and down are also bugging sometimes... It would have been nice if I could use arrow keys and/or wasd to control. Apart from the bugs seems really nicely made. The voice acting sounds good and really helps with the mood! I'm glad I didn't choose a weird monster caregiver as my career.
First I have to say that while I really actually like the graphics it took me embarrassingly long to notice that the first level had more mountains than at the top side of the grid... No wonder my men died so fast. This has a lot of everything for a compo game. Pretty amazing. Not really my type of game but I really appreciate it. The first card click I still didn't quite get, was it supposed to be a blind pick or what do Special and Bonus mean? Also one round took 19 phases, it can get a bit boring just waiting two units to kill each other off... But those are minor annoyances. It's a really well made game!
Impressive game! The digging and inventory works well, lightning is very moody and physics are pretty good. The vision range, ants teleporting from one tile to the next and lights taking random lenghts of time to turn on added a lot to my frustration though. I'd rather play exciting cave exploration game that's fairly easy. If the lights were instant and a bit brighter I can see myself going through every bit of the map. Not to be too negative it's a really well made entry!
I want office pets and I really need a "cope" button on my work laptop too! Nice and wholesome chill game. Nice experience :)
This was a bit confusing. Every time I added ants to gather food and opened my nest none were assigned to the food gathering and I think they all just died? Nice to see a strategy game here. It's not an easy genre to do for sure. The best way to improve for the next jam would be to use mouse controls. Clicking on the nests and moving around the map with a mouse would make this a lot easier to grasp. Also then you could make the nest menu a bit easier to use with +1, +10, +100 buttons etc. I liked the retro graphics and the big ant sprites! Good job
I saw a lot of potential here. The graphics are great and the bug variety is nice. But the bugs were big old dummies that crashed into each other and got stuck into nothing and I had to retreat or watch them die... Good stuff anyway, thanks for the game!
Hey, a fellow jammer that made the poor decision to make an RTS! Love it! Game's art makes it really clean and easy to figure out. The controls are also typical RTS controls so it's easy to pick up and play. On the other hand there are 5 different resources which makes prioritising/strategizing some resources over others really tough. Most big RTS games have only a few and they are still really deep games. The sound effects helped a lot to understand what is happening in the game but I still felt like the game lacked feedback. For example a better selection indicator for the selected ants might have made it feel better. I'm going to go give it another go now. Thanks for the game!
This is so cool. I'm glad I tried the SUPER ULTRA FAST as well so I'd notice the funny paper crumbling effect for broken car. This must have been so much work and still it's pretty playable. Maybe it's just me but a bit better turning rate would have been nice. The art style kind of makes me emotional and takes me back to when I draw weird games on paper before I even knew how to make them. Love it!
First level was so full of rocks that I couldn't really move away from one lane. Surprisingly short game but it's really complex so makes sense. Based on tutorial I expected to be stressed out of my mind but the levels turned out to be pretty chill. You could generate some really tough levels with these mechanics. BTW, nice to see another 3D entry from you!
Glancing at the other comments I realized that I don't appreciate enough the skill and experience your games demonstrate. Again this game will most likely be the most polished one I'll play at this LD. Like people mentioned the upgrades can cause issues. I picked the green energy and lost the run to that. But I'm not completely sure if that's a bad thing. Maybe there could be another mechanic to balance that instead of completely removing that perk. First thing I thought of when I saw the perks was "I couldn't make this work well in 48h". So I think you did great considering.
Love the dithering and chunky pixels. At first I thought it was pretty good but didn't quite get the idea of bosses and garlics. But then I figured it's just me and tried a second time. It's a really good twist! Too bad it always ends up in certain death since the destruction is unrecoverable. Really well done!
Well made interactive piece with a touching story! The art and music were fitting and well executed. Not my genre but thankfully it wasn't too long for me. I related to the story and now I'm thinking which side am I on...
