Wild West Hunt by wizzardMaker 2020-04-20T10:34:19Z
Pretty awesome mechanics. It's really cool how you have to focus on so many things at the same time. I just felt a bit overwhelmed by the amount of enimies.

Nice idea and cool to see that someone used scratch. I think it would have been nice of the speed of the herd increased over time. It was also kind of easy to stay safe by just waiting in a corner.
There is no way to win it! How is one supposed to dig out all these nasty moles? But I like the irony of the fact that in order to have a beatiful lawn you have to build an ungly wall and a KEEP OUT fence xD And the audio is really good.
Woah the mini games were very difficult. Like a really cool idea but trying to combine two or more tiles on time just blew my mind.
That was more a gentle camera cradling than a camera shaking :D
A very fun game to play. It's oddly satisfying to see the slime grow :D
Some really amazing game you made there. The graphics and music are amazing.
@corbak how did you manage to keep the tree alive? xD With pace of the player I could not could not meet any of the trees needs.
Wow I really like the graphcis and the music. But the controls freaked me out. I could not hit anything xD Anyway, congrats for completing the jam.
@jonah Good to hear that you liked the cutscenes :D I was already a bit afraid that it was too much talking and too little action.
@peto184 Thanks for the feedback. Personally I would have liked to add animations but I spent too much time on the trees xD
@majadroid I agree that the feels empty without sound. I just have very little experience in making music or creating sounds.
@xeke-death The night is 2 minutes long. I wanted it to be a bit challlenging :P
@gonzo13 the attack in the night ends after 2 minutes
I don't know why but it was very difficult for me to pick up items. I always had to press E multiple times to grab and drop them. Otherwise a very cool game.
The tree models somehow remind me of another game :D
I liked the graphics and the audio a lot. I had the feeling that it isn't possible to figure out how many buildings are needed. But I think for a LD game it's pretty good!
The way the sound effects add to to music is awsome!
Wow, that was funny xD also nice Dio refernece.
Weirdest enemy animation ever but ok xD The retro style was really awesome and I liked the narration, too.
The balloon physic is really cool and the music gives me shivers. But what are all the graphics about? What is the story behind this?
I like the idea of the having to mend the ship and fight off aliens at the same time. But to me the controls and hitboxes felt a bit clumsy and I didn't manage to patch 3 leaks because of the amount of aliens and how fast they killed me.
Luv the graphics!
@thorpalsson At the end of the parkour there was a subtle change in one of the walls
@theogen Mh, no, the fall should kill you and bring you back to the last checkpoint... but I never had this bug before.
15.png @ds-nahogara This is how the buttons are numbered. If you look closer at the drawings on the wall you will surely find a pattern
@zuvr Thanks for the review! There were some sounds for clicking buttons and walking, IDK maybe they could not been played for you.
Loved the art style and also the conversations were really cool. The "little shade" could be a bit stronger though and I got stuck on lv 2, too.
I think as a not native english speaker I have no chance in this game xD
The atmosphere is really haunting. Sadly the game kept crashing for me always after a while, too. Would have loved to find out what's in the engine room
23.00s is that a record?
Well it was more spamming than strategy for me but it was hella funny!
Played it 2 times and the song in the one ending is realyl awsome! The other time I also got stuck after day 6
Pretty nice concept! I didn't get it right away but then it was fun
Really awesome game and perfectly fitting for the theme. I was hoping for the guards to move in a bit more complicated patterns but I guess the helicopter totally compensated that
So in the end... there is only awaiting darkness? :(
Wouldn't the point of the nest be to protect the sqirrel from wind and weather?
I like the idea of having these different abilities and slowly reducing them. But I agree to the others who said the the movement mechanics are a bit fiddly. Would have loved to have occasions to fight monsters.
It's really short and a bit more of story would have been nice. But I liked the graphics and the music.
Nice bomber man vibes. Some sound effects could have been nice of course.
Idk if I played the final version (it said dev build in the lower right) but the bathroom had me :D
lv 8 had me for 10 mins now I fail at lv 10. That's a really cool puzzle game concept!
The art is definetely outstanding. All the visual effects you managed to implement are really impressive. But yeah, the walking mechanic felt kind of clumsy. I also missed some kind of indication that things could be interacted with. I mean maybe this is the point of a puzzle game, but I was running around for quiet a while with no idea what to do or where even to look next...
"first try" yeah.png but yeah, cool game. It's simply but has addictive potential
I think it's remarkable for an LD game. All the features implemented so far are pretty neat so I am not bothered at all that it's a short game.
With these abstract graphics the game feels kind of surreal xD The rough mechanics make this actually interestingly challenging. I really enjoyed playing it :D
Welp you keep making exceptional games. I struggled a bit with the controls but everything else is polished to the last detail.
I liked the idea of the game. Exploring the mind in a playful way is an interesting concept. But the way the levels were designed and the mechanics worked made this a not so fun experience. Having to restart a level every time I touch *anything* was very exhausting. Checkpoints would have been nice.
It was kind of difficult to understand the map layouts in the pitch dark but I played through. It was really fun :D
Edit: also the music really got me. Props to your boyfriend.
@torge-schossen @skelleroznik @ringabell @ygdran @sieber2210 @fractal-flower-girl @sheinxy Thanks for the kind reviews!
It was the first for us to work together in a jam and the first for me time to create music and sound effects. So I really appreciate the positive feedback!
@antbrl thx for the feedback! It’s nice to hear that it is playable after I tweaked the monsters a bit.
And yeah, that with the rating categories was a mistake. It was quite late when I submitted and I must have accidentally opted out of everything :( I tried to contact Mike already. I hope it can still be fixed
Wow the berry connoisseur concept was really funny :D I mean in deeper levels I got scared of trying any new berries because the were so many deadly. I think I would have loved to see a change at the end. The messages built up so much tension that I really hoped to be able to escape.
A fun little game. I could not finish it, too, because the fish people were all in my face and killing them was too oxygen expensive. But the idea was cool.
Unbenannt.png **Loved** it!
What a creative approach to tackle the theme "deeper and deeper" xD Very cheerful and funny
Defeintely the weirdest movement mechanics I have experienced in a while. But yeah the game is cool xD It's beatiful that it has a story.
It would be nice to have a description to the game. Like this it's missing some context, like what the idea for the game was and what the goal is.
I liked the drawings and the atmosphere. It's pretty cool for a game made in Scratch.
Couldn't get any other smoothie than Van Gogh. So that was a bit confusing. But the music is epic. Only when I switched tabs and came back after a while I could listen to later parts of the battle music, they were really beautiful. So definetely props to that.
Well that was really fun. Every run was interesting and it never got boring. It's a really fabulous game.
Unbenannt.png Got a lucky run
That's a big project for this short amount of time! I liked the idea and the art style. But sometimes the controls felt a bit stiff to me, in the parkour some obstacles were really difficult to land on.
Didn't really understand what the sell options were for since I was selling all ore anyway but I be vibing :notes::musical_note: xD
Sureley an interesting idea. Some more interactions with the tree or the surrounding would have been nice.
I really liked the graphics and shaders. My first impression was, that the left key - right booster movement is a bit counter intuitive. But otherwise a really great game
Was that one voice track from marriage story? And the TV played a rick roll. I think that should be a reason to opt out from audio.
Just like the others said. Awesome design and interesting features. The music is really immersive. But the speed!
Wait, why is the *compressed* zip to download 1.2GB big?
Concepts and realization seem very polished. In my view it was just too difficult to complete the game without any checkpoints. Since a small move in the wrong direction could already be deadly I think checkpoints would have increased the possibility to experience all parts of the game a lot.
Wow the end hit me different :/ I was kind of really sad. Awesome puzzle game
Well that was oddly funny and disturbing at the same time... the puzzles are pretty good and also the way the difficulty is increasing. Definetely an outstanding entry
Screenshot (357).png Idk the copy thingy can go a bit crazy sometimes xD It slowed down to 2 fps (in browser)
Screenshot (358).png I had fun trying to use as few elements as possible :D
The flight controls are definitely a cool game mechanic that were fun to play with. I think they could have been a little less sensitive so you are less likely to completely crash from the slightest collision :D In the beginning it was a bit difficult for me to recognize what objects I can interact with. But overall I really also liked the gloomy city feel conveyed by the graphics.
Damn had to give up when the pink target apples started flooding in from everywhere :< but I really enjoyed the archery!
Wow this is such a lovely game! It's astonishing to me what you managed to bring together in such a short period. The gameplay itself is fun and versatile, but I'm also impressed by all the animations and effects you implemented (idk im just fascinated by the field turning green every round ). I was only a little bit confused that it seemed like letting the crows kill each other is the easiest way to defeat them :joy:
Enjoyed the gameplay a lot! I just got nauseous sometimes because there was nothing in the background to see how fast I was flying :D
The graphics are really cute! Would be nice to have some more audio and visual feedback for being damaged or buying upgrades. But yeah that's mostly polishing ^^ Having on resource for time/health/buffs is a cool idea.
Pretty cool puzzle game! The graphics look minimalistic butty are really fitting!
luckily Marcus didn't need any hands, feet, or both arms or anything. Just the bits of everything
@surr-sloidah @tomtomgome thx for the feedback ^^ I think as a dev it's hard to find out how much feedback a player needs who hasn't seen the game before. So I appreciate the insight!
@justin-c @joshedev @milq @lintfordpickle @thejookerful @keithswanger thanks for all the kind reviews  It's nice to see that people can enjoy something cobbled together so quickly xD
Really liked the idea of trying to strategically build and improve a ship! I think it was a bit difficult to figure out what everything was in the beginning. It took me a while to understand how the upgrades worked and what effect they had. So that was a bit chaotic :joy: But otherwise a pretty neat entry ^^
Wow the movement and interaction are really fun ^^ the sliding around the planets is quiet satisfying! I think it is just a bid sad that it's so difficult to defend against incoming hexagons.
I liked the concept of mining minerals. But I think as others pointed out the player seldomly has to doge are interact with the traps at all. I thought that was a little bit missed opportunity to make the gameplay more diverse.
score.png there might be a connection to the cross shaped tape that miraculously sticks to the center of my screen. I didn't know I could have so much fun pointing with a water gun at tomatoes xD
score.png I give up xD it's too difficult to spot the smallest plant in a lagging tomato field
Damn this is already a really solid game. But for god heavens! The slow turning speed really makes the whole game a gamble if you die because you accidentally hit a wall or can't turn around fast enough to fend off an enemy :joy: I especially enjoyed farming the the crowd of carrots that was following me, but it was pure luck that I managed to win against the cauliflower on 3rd try.
end.png Well that took... very long. But I guess that means I liked it xD The beginning was definitely a bit confusing because it wasn't that obvious what the 7 different buttons and levers were for but once I got into it, it was such a rewarding activity to collect and deliver the mushrooms.
The phoenixes reviving blew my mind.
There is this one platform further to the right where creepers will mostly attack from the left. That was the only spot where I could stand still xD I also thought that it would have been nicer if there were more ways to dodge creepers because otherwise it feels like you can hardly defend yourself properly. But the graphics and music were pretty nice :) bad.gif
I liked the mood of the game with the eerie music and the devilish laughing. Really made the atmosphere. For me the concept of the gameplay felt a bit stiff and repetitive. I think I would've also enjoyed the game without a long explanation. Just slashing some robed guys and wheat and have fun xD
The graphics and mechanics are definitely quite advanced for a jam game. I felt a bit constrained having to walk forth and back between rooms to heal. And the more expensive blades killed enemies instantly which made it completely impossible to heal by anything else than the enemy in the first room xD But I had fun
I think it's a simple idea but well implemented. Graphics and audio were really convincing for me :) score.png
Woah the 4th level was way to much for my tired brain :joy: But the concept is cool, the puzzles really put together cleverly and I love the constant concerned look on the players face
Yeah I pretty much avoided the enemies because of the difficult fighting mechanic 😅 but the little noises the Skrungle made were so cuuuuute
I see what you did there :D hehe.png
Wow, this is a game with a really eery atmosphere with these graphics and the lighting style. I think it was a good challenge, even a quite tough one. That any bug the sword slice missed could kill you made this pretty difficult. The level with the many upward jumps took me quite a lot of attempts. Hats off to this cool entry but also damn this was too hard :joy:
Nice level design and quite a lot of content packed into two days! The balancing felt a bit confusing to me, one or two skins had the equivalent of 7 bonus hearts for the price of 1 or so. I also thought the the shooting felt a bit boring sometimes. It's just my personal opinion, but I like it more when shooters have more screen shake and maybe light effects to give me a feeling of carrying a gun with a lot of punch behind it.
@just-a-dev I'm glad you enjoyed it! Yeah I had to tweak all the numbers a bit to make it better playable :joy: I feel like with the developer-tinted glasses I always assume people need 0 time to understand how to use all the mechanics.
She's a beauty Untitled.png
These numbers do get a bit out of hand but I had a blast  Untitled.png
Aw man I wish I could spend some time with the children 😥
I feel like this flying system could be really cool. But personally I just tried to move as little as possible because every movement just made me rotate weirdly again :joy: maybe I need to play more flight simulator or something but I couldn't get the steering to feel comfortable. The sphere shape of the virus room also made me feel really disoriented  And in the end my missiles did the greater damage than the laser anyway, so I just stood still and started blasting.
I don't know how I managed to do this Untitled.png This does just feel like getting over it. I don't know if I'm mad that there are no checkpoints or find it really cool. If I had fallen on the last or forlast jump I would have definitely hated it :joy:
@keithswanger bro, coatline probably just whipped out MS Paint and filled the cheater label white :joy:
Untitled.png damn actually now I was motivated as well to try to speedrun it. The training paid off :D
@keithswanger who got that run? is there a speedrun.com page? I need to know who I want to beat :joy:
@keithswanger damn, would have loved to see their strategies
damn you @coatline :joy: I'm just a second off, but i got a hole lot of new skips up my sleeve! We'll meet again!!!
Lmao easy  Untitled.png
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=z5eYF23HRYY
@keithswanger Tbh I kind of hate this skip. I can only manage to do it successfully every 3rd time. But if anyone beats me to the record I'm not going to be mad. At least I will have tought them the tennis ball rack skip :stuck_out_tongue_winking_eye: It's really been a blast with your game :D you should put it out there on Steam!
Couldn't let that one sit on me :stuck_out_tongue_winking_eye: https://youtu.be/yf3-jD_xRZ4
I really loved looking at all those glowy worms going in one big ball and pushing around those sparkly bio mass pellets :joy:
It sounds like a fun concept to half to walk a little maze and parkour around stuff. But I think it's a bit sad that you instantly die if you touch an ant and that there are no checkpoints. At some point I got stuck and couldn't finish. Lots of objects are missing colliders and there are invisible walls here and there... that wasn't too fun
It's a broad game with quite a lot of features. I really enjoyed the music and the scenery. But as others mentioned it was difficult to first even understand what even the task is and that the gameplay felt a little all over the place. I thought maybe a smaller focus on one or two mechanics would have given the interaction of the player more meaning.
The looks and mechanics were pretty cool. The ring mechanic is really fun. But yeah, it was quite simple to just dodge or run away from the monsters. On my second replay it also seemed to take much longer for the ascending ritual to finish. I just thought it would have been nice to get a feedback for how long I actually have to wait.
The graphics are beautiful. I agree that they feel very much like Portal. You can clearly see that you guys put a lot of effort into the look and feel. But I also see the points that other people have raised. The 3 pages of text right at the beginning were quite a load. I also felt like I was missing a bit more interaction with the setting. I found the changes in the different levels were rather small and only visual and didn't really affect the gameplay. And since everything went smoothly despite the warnings from the suspicious employer, it wasn't a big challenge. The 4th(?) level with the cave was the first time I thought “Oh, now it's getting suspenseful”, but then it also was already the end :D Nevertheless, it's a cool project that you seven have put together. I can imagine that it's quite a challenge to find common ground with so many new people. Congrats on finishing this big project!
The art is really untopable. But I do admit that I was just randomly throwing stuff at the skeleton. I couldn't really figure out what was working "good" and what "bad". Maybe just some tiny particle effects or any other feedback to the player to understand what consequences actions have could be nice I imagine. To understand better how everything interacts with each other. To me in "the best" case a game wouldn't need a separate text explanation to figure out what to do. Would be awesome to find it out via the game itself.
Cute fwuffy animals :3 would be cool if it was possible to defend yourself against the evil monsters more.
The graphics are really pretty! Somehow reminds me of Vampire Survivors which I enjoyed a lot.
It's a fun concept. But everything felt buggy and unbalanced. Why would the grizzl clip through the container walls? Does this look jittry or is it a bug you couldn't fix? Also the boxes easily clip out of bounds and moving them together easily catapults them around like in goat simulator. It just doesn't feel comfortable to play. Untitled.png
Damn, this is a really fun game. The concept is easy to grasp but difficult to master. Sometimes I would get really mad at tiny monsters attacking the wrong big monster if the arrived in file :joy: but otherwise a really smooth playing expericence :D
Congrats on finishing your first game! Quite ambitious to go for such complex graphics right away. The music makes a great atmosphere! I think getting the hang of pixel art games and platformers involve a lot of trial and error. I find it easier on the eyes if there is color temperature difference between foreground and background elements, so they are more easily to distinguish. I also almost ran past most the artifacts because I could not make them out that well. E.g. adding a highlight/tiny shine to them could make them pop more. It can also be nice to add visual feedback if you receive damage, so you don't have to move your eyes forth and back between player and healthbar all the time. Personally I was keeping the sprint button pressed all the time, also because it was much necessary for jumps between platforms. At that point I'm just thinking it would be okay to make this the default speed or to lower the gravity to allow further jumps with normal walking speed. Anyway I don't want this to sound too negative, getting 3 levels done in this time frame already seems quite an achievement to me.
(PS. but I think in the parallax effect of level 2, the closer trees should be moving faster than the trees further away)
Really cool game! I'm just wondering... My pet is now breed booldur, stength 22, speed 8, dextity 7, has a sir title and seriously nothing can kill it... is that supposed to be like that?
@TerraCottaFrog pfff xD I played it half an hour. whatever. But if you just level it good before it evolves it isn't that hard to get nice stats. I would like to rename my monster though
Ok thats weird my dead sir JDA is still around raiding half of the games
@Frodewin well at some point is not possible to push the box foreward anymore in strength training. I personally dont think that winning games should give you extra points in any way. This way one player can control the game
@TerraCottaFrog wooh :D well alfred also belongs to me. im proud of my pets xD but hey, event if there are some bugs this game is super advanced and really cool
@DrEvilBrain I suspect the actual pet data to be on a server
@Rosik idk if I got the extra points by winning games or for total play time. I just dont unterstand how someone could get 84 points in speed. i mean my pet jumps slower than a new box appears... hacks?
all the rhymes made this oh so weirder :D
