Clicked your itch.io link but I get a 404, page not found error.

faer 2020-04-20 22:09

@rhoq Try again ? I think I fixed it.

teamnova 2020-04-20 23:33

Really good! I love graphs!!

dm2684 2020-04-20 23:34

Very cool game!

sepldepl 2020-04-20 23:54

These pixel art graphics are sooo amazing i just fell in love with your graphics.I didnt played trough the whole game because im tired but the stuff i saw was really good. To create a good concept AND a good story in such a short time is really hard but you did amazing. Maybe im gonna play the rest of the game tomorrow. The only thing i can complain about is that the game is closing itself when you fail instead of restarting and thats really not a big deal. Keep up the good work and sorry for my spelling im german and tired :)

faer 2020-04-20 23:59

@sepldepl Thank you so much for your feedback, that mean all for me (The other is sleeping actually aha) We think about the restart thing but it was at the end of the project and we were waaaay too lazy to do it. When the jam be over, I'll work on it for sure ! I hope you will find the time to play it and tell us what ending you got ! Kisses from france, now go sleep !

xlekai 2020-04-21 12:48

I have a big problems to play this game, im being blocked into the first image and i can't play of the rest of the game. And no sounds... But really great pixel art ! Awesome!

This is amazing, creating such a good story in only 3 days is insane! Your art is gorgeous and the music fits the mood perfectly. I also appreciate the Linux build, i could not have played it otherwise. About the story: I was close to tears when i got the ending. I only have minor complains, like the music restarting in every new scene and the slightly unreadable font for the energy and turns text. I wish you the best of luck during the voting. ~ ugghmaster from @WeAreDev

faer 2020-04-21 13:25

@xlekai I had the same problem on a pc on windows 8... I really don't know what's the problem, we're trying to fix it. Thanks for the feedback anyway !

faer 2020-04-21 13:27

@ugghmaster Thank you so much for the feedback... I'm really happy that the story caught you ! We worked hard on the game and your message means a lot.

arinyl 2020-04-21 17:13

This was a great game! The artstyle is very good, and the stories of the grandma are full of cool thoughts! Well done!

johnny-rainbow 2020-04-21 17:25

cool story to read and the music was great, too. Could not figure it out how to survive, though.

faer 2020-04-21 17:49

@johnny-rainbow if you're stuck, read the "some hints" section on the Ludum dare page. Your actions takes a certain amount of energy, and you start with 5 of them. I hope you'll obtain to finish the game :)

johnny-rainbow 2020-04-21 19:09

@faer ohhhh I see ;) thank xou

jmad 2020-04-21 23:24

I really love the art, color palette and mood :purple_heart: The story was really moving, and game mechanics interesting. Took me couple tries to figure things out, too bad the game has to be launched again. Favorite LD46 game I played so far :)

Got two different endings !

wearedev 2020-04-22 08:25

That was intense The atmosphere and story of the game caught me up so much that for the entire playthrough, I didnt notice I wasnt playing in fullscreen ^^ The art was really great, loved how you managed to create such gorgeous sceneries with pixel art Im always in for narrative jam games of any kind and this one was one of the best I have played to date Thank you for creating this ^^

Omg thank you so much @jmad and @wearedev

It's heartwarming to read your feedbacks... I'm so happy you enjoyed the game ! I was affraid my story wouldn't be liked and you're proving that I was wrong. Thank you ! :blue_heart:

jbdev 2020-04-22 09:58

This really looks like a finished product more than a game for a jam. IT'S AMAZING. I lived the pixel art graphics. 10/10

robowarrior1982 2020-04-22 10:04

good pixel art, and beautifull music. The game play is limited it makes me think of a visual novel, but it is a narrative game so it works well. Very nice story, touching, a little sad, it makes you think. Good job!!Oh add a return to menu when we have game over that's better !I think there are multiple end this is mine) sentss.jpg

aryanjumani 2020-04-22 10:05

Loved the pixel art!! Would love to see a post-jam version of this game. Awesome game!!

haro-games 2020-04-22 10:09

Great pixel art and good music, nice entry ! Very polished, good job

lapisraider 2020-04-22 10:10

I really love the art of the game! I wished the energy and turns left UI was a little clearer, I didn't notice it until my 2nd run. I ended up getting the ending where the grandma died and the boy is left alone determine to get shelter :( It's really sad.

Overall it's a great narrative game and I love the dialogue and interactions between the boy and grandmother!

klaus-peter 2020-04-22 10:31

Nice pixel art and the story was fitting well to the theme. I couldn't really figure out what the stats were supposed to mean, but somehow got to the end. Apart from the game mechanics I liked it.

red-ash 2020-04-22 10:38

I really love the art ! Story is interesting too i want to know more and thats probably my problem i keep talking so i juste die all the time, bit frustating for me who likes to know the details of the narratives. Had a hard time figuring out the energy system so i had to read the hints, i made much more sense after. And i just realized the search is random (good idea)and that i got very very unlucky in my first try. But really you did great at creating a post apo atmosphere. I just got 2 endings and still trying to figure out how to get the others though.

faer 2020-04-22 10:55

@red-ash I wanted to add an hiden hint for those who would want to have all the endings, but my co-worker didn't want... So I'll put it there, cause he doesn't reads the comments ehe

The game is using a "karma" value which is increasing and decreasing each time you make a choice.

The five endings are : - below -20 karma - between -20 and -10 karma - between -10 and 10 karma - between 10 and 30 karma - above 30 karma

Here are the gains of karma for each choice (I'll not tell you wich one does what anyway, aha)

Talk : + 4 / +0 / -6 Question : +6 / -6 Search : -4 / 0 / +2 Play : +4 Rest : +0

faer 2020-04-22 10:58

@klaus-peter We wanted the game to be hard. Because the death and confusion is omnipresent in the story, we wanted to confuse the player too. In fact, we put the Energy and turns without telling the player how cost in both the actions take. I know this is confusing and hard to understand, but the game was originally thinked this way.

Also, if you want to enjoy it more, you can read the hints on the ludum dare and itch.io pages ! Thank you for your feedback.

red-ash 2020-04-22 11:04

@faer i wouldnt have figured it out without your hint (did the game 3 or 4 times with very different choices and still ended up with the same ending)! Gonna try to find those others endings now hehe! Thanks :D

faer 2020-04-22 11:11

@red-ash thank you for trying to complete the game at 100% !

patrickrmc 2020-04-22 20:34

A little confused on what to do first, but it was really nice how you had different opinions so it felt like you kinda of had a saying in how the story was shaped, and the art looked really good. Overall a pretty polished game that was fun to play.
