LD46 — Keep it alive

Wildfire by dankar 2020-04-22T20:09:45Z

Really nice idea. Graphics and sound are good, too. I would only like to point out, that randomizing every level makes the difficulty highly unpredictable. The one 7x7 Map i played hat a 3 tile wide pond with the fire behind it. It took me maybe 3 turns to finish that level. However making randomization work in the first place is quite the achievement in my opinion. Good luck in the voting, Ugghmaster from @WeAreDev

Mayday by awerar 2020-04-21T10:59:37Z

I tried to play, but it seems your mediafire link for the linux version is wrong.

DieDry by AAA 2020-04-21T12:17:48Z

This game is missing a hilarious soundtrack but otherwise I've got almost no complaints. Character movement feels really good, the levels are difficult enough to be challenging (despite me not making it past level 4) and the rag doll physics are on point. Having the controls written down somewhere would have helped. (Did you know you can rag doll by pressing q?) All in all, nice game funny concept. Good luck in the votes uggmaster form @WeAreDev

Cyber 33 : Before The Dawn by tenshi42 2020-04-21T16:14:04Z

Nice metal soundtrack. Hopefully you can get around to making more levels. What I have seen already looks very promising. The only complaint i have, is that there is no incentive to ever use the laser towers, since they have to destroy the shields first. So using only bullets seems to be the better strategy in every level. Anyway I enjoyed playing. ~Ugghmaster from @WeAreDev

Rouglike Prototype by emanvidmaker 2020-04-21T21:31:09Z

It is nice for a prototype, the minimalist art style is charming and it is clear what you have to do. Controlling the character ,however, feels awkward. It seems like you are not checking for button presses in every game tick. This makes the character very unresponsive for precise movement. Holding down keys seems to work a lot better right now.

Keep It Aflame by Epono 2020-04-22T20:22:07Z

I like seeing wacky concepts from time to time and this game definitely qualifies for that definition. I would like to see a different level, since this one can be beat by simply spamming towers on the central island. I would say for a one person jam game this is pretty good.

Responsibility by BlueMirror 2020-04-21T22:00:54Z

I You should make sure to test your webGL build with different browsers. In Firefox i had a pretty bad glitch, where the main area of the game was only black and purple (Like missing textures), reloading did not help.(Chromium worked though) UI, mini-map and the intro were fine and looked adorable. The music was nice, but the loop could have been better. Since you asked for tips: you probably should also include pictures on your LudumDare site, as well as providing a Windows,Mac and Linux build in case WebGL does break. Also look up how the scoring works on the LudumDare site, you need to play and rate other games to get *your* game to show up in the game lists. In short: if you and your team don't rate games, you won't get many ratings yourselves. Anyway the game was nice and naming your pet is a nice touch. ~ugghmaster form @WeAreDev

Wanted: Alive! by Dan Colman 2020-04-22T19:50:46Z

The game did not work in Firefox for some reason. Tried Chromium and it was fine. The voice over is amazing and the music is very fitting. The holes don't really make sens in the setting, but i could not think of something better to replace them. ~Ugghmaster from @WeAreDev

Trump Crisis Simulator 2020 by Lyje 2020-04-21T10:47:32Z

Great game. Definitely worth playing. I appreciate the webGL build but i think music would have made the game even more hilarious. (Maybe you had music and it broke in webGL, cant test the windows version.) The only other thing I noticed, is that you quickly run out of new text options but i guess that is due to the jam time constraints. Anyway, good luck on the voting, Ugghmaster form WeAreDev

Planet with a Cat by Bonyok77 2020-04-21T16:22:30Z

There seems to be a bug, when you repeatedly press space between the first meteor and the last tree planted in the beginning, the game will spawn a ridiculous am amount of meteors. Screenshot from 2020-04-21 18-19-45.png

Kindling by armytag 2020-04-20T15:13:33Z

Nice Game, I especial appreciate the Linux version. However to me it seems like placing torches is more a waste of fuel than helping me see. Making the screen completely black would probably help. I enjoyed the dynamic lighting, it really helped with the atmosphere.

Sparks Of Light by Barwani 2020-04-21T12:45:58Z

I appreciate seeing more people build games for Linux, however you seem to have a bug in the Linux build that prevents players from progressing to the second level(screen goes black, but location does not change). Despite that, what little i have seen from this game looked really good. Nice art, fitting music and good explanation of player controls. ~ ugghmaster from @WeAreDev

ANICTO by WeAreDev 2020-04-21T16:54:39Z

@pythooonuser @dezom We noticed that too. Managing the number of stones you have definitely turned out as a main aspect of finding a strategy to beat the game.

ANICTO by WeAreDev 2020-04-21T22:04:56Z

Thank you @sadzanenyama for your feedback. You have a point but for now we are probably keeping the webGL version running since it does really help with ratings. Also snow and ice was in debate, but we did not have the time to implement it(we had a plan to use shaders for that).

ANICTO by WeAreDev 2020-04-21T22:08:03Z

@eoshadows The torch is a known bug I thought we had fixed, seems like we will have to put some more work into the game. Maybe we will update the version in the future. Thank you for the feedback it is greatly appreciated.

ANICTO by WeAreDev 2020-04-22T20:53:28Z

@arttu-halonen we are currently working on a fix for some minor bugs, and indeed adding the hint for collecting rocks. hopefully we will have it uploaded by tomorrow. As the main artist it is always appreciated to hear people praise the visuals.

Bond Wire by Ebediam 2020-04-22T21:21:37Z

That is an impressive Character controller. The grapple feels nice except for a slight ruberbandyness at the bottom of the swing and personally i would have changed it to hold the mouse button down to keep attached to the objects. The air dash could be a little bit stronger in my opinion and seems to cancel any momentum you had before u used it. Overall the movement feels good. I like that there is voice acting but i find it hard to understand. I also found a bug, that forced me to restart. I grappled the blue underside of a door while it was closing and i could not detach myself. All in all it seems like a good foundation to build a game around. ~Ugghmaster from @WeAreDev

Keep me alive #iamthevirus by Romaric 2020-04-21T16:33:14Z

The game looks and sounds good. i only have one thing to complain about. During your tutorial i got the impression that the game was turn-based and that every time i clicked a doctor or a immune person would spawn. But instead these spawns seem random after some time and the strategy game turns into a click-fest to spread before the population has to many special attributes in it. I am just wondering, whether that is intentional or not. Despite that it is still a nice game. ~Ugghmaster from @WeAreDev

Fire keeper by Sleetag 2020-04-21T11:12:54Z

There seems to be a problem with the linux version of your game, either you have the wrong link on the LD site, or you have not uploaded a linux version to your itch.io site.

Sentinels by Faer 2020-04-21T13:15:13Z

This is amazing, creating such a good story in only 3 days is insane! Your art is gorgeous and the music fits the mood perfectly. I also appreciate the Linux build, i could not have played it otherwise. About the story: I was close to tears when i got the ending. I only have minor complains, like the music restarting in every new scene and the slightly unreadable font for the energy and turns text. I wish you the best of luck during the voting. ~ ugghmaster from @WeAreDev

Feed the Turtle King! by Butzbo 2020-04-21T12:28:33Z

One of the nicest looking games i have seen today. I like seeing self made music, however it stopped for me half way through the game. maybe it is not looping correctly? Anyway nice aesthetic and funny story. Good luck in the voting ugghmaster from @WeAreDev

Heart Kicker by The Iddmeister 2020-04-21T21:19:47Z

Wow, this is a really good, action packed game. I couldn't stop playing and ended up with a final time of 221.119seconds. I can only say that despite the other comments, downloading and playing the Linux version worked fine for me. You should probably consider adding a working windows build or even a webGL version because this game deserves more attention. The idea is great the character is responsive and feels nice and the amount of levels impressive for a jam game. I would like to play some more levels. ~ Ugghmaster from @WeAreDev

LD48 — Deeper and deeper

Ancient Heart by ThiefViolinist 2021-04-29T18:48:23Z

Those 3D models and animations look really good. I would have liked to see a menu for mouse-sensitivity, since it was to high for me but i can understand that that is not a high priority task for a jam game.

Shook by SleepyStudios 2021-04-28T19:31:33Z

This is a very well made Game with a unique idea. It would benefit a lot from a nice background track so you don't only hear the soundeffects. P.s. Keep in mind, that you have to rate other games in order to receive more ratings!

Farciminis Infernum by S1L3nCe 2021-04-28T19:06:47Z

This was nice, though the mouse sensitivity was a bit high in my opinion. But that might just be on my end. I would also have toned down the sound of the gun so that the music would pop better,

Treasures of Bloom by WeAreDev 2021-04-28T20:02:16Z

Thanks to all the people who have commented thus far, your feedback is greatly appreciated!

@gonutz nice that you liked the art. I is nice to hear positive feedback even though i was pressed for time in this jam and had to rush a lot of it. Also you are absolutely right, the idea of making a game only about exploring came to our mind but we decided against it in order to complete the game in the 3 days we had.

To all those struggling with lag, i recommend trying the windows version. The game was not designed with a focus on the web version.

Artifact from the Abyss by AlexTengu 2021-04-28T19:55:15Z

Nice concept. The sub handles nicely and the 3D model looks really good. I can report that the Linux build works as far as i can tell and i appreciate the effort of actually making a build for Linux. It would be nice to see this again, when it is a little more fleshed out.

Spellblade TD by Reulan 2021-04-28T19:20:37Z

It definitely is a good idea to work on your weaknesses from time to time. I would like to see a post-jam version of the game with fully implemented features.

Explosions And Fortunes by Mistafixxa069 2021-04-28T19:15:45Z

I got to the credits, but there are definitely some bugs in the character controller (like pressing up without a rope attached). The atmosphere is very good with the cave sounds and the fog effects.

LD51 — Every 10 seconds

Fall Girl by civmaniac 2022-10-04T17:41:47Z

This is a cool game! I love all the little details, like the fact that pizza spawns when a drone is hit by one of the falling window cleaners. The attention to detail is really outstanding!

My only complaint is that i almost did not play past the first level, because at first I did not realize that I could make the jump to the far right window.

Also I appreciate the linux build.

LD51 by ChewieCB 2022-10-04T16:50:38Z

Very cool level design. It looks amazing.

If you keep working on this i would like to see a setting for mouse sensitivity. For me this was definitly to high.

And i appreciate the Linux-build. Always nice to see those.

By the way, you need to play and rate other peoples games if you want enough ratings to qualify.

Flip and Swap by WeAreDev 2022-10-04T05:11:06Z

Thank you all for the feedback @lemare,@hora-timer and @disperse! The character controller was definitely something we were struggling to get right. It is a good thing that we made the character a little bit faster for the final build. :)

10 Seconds Arcanoid by min4uk 2022-10-04T16:02:24Z

This is the first time i see this kind of Game where the balls can collide with each other. The Idea is neat, but it has caused some balls to get stuck at the top of the screen. Overall a pretty nice game. I enjoyed it.

STORQ3000 by pierogo 2022-10-04T16:35:11Z

Very cool game and impressive visuals! It is rare that I see a UI this polished for a jam game. My only complaint is that the game crashed once while changing the audio setting, but i wont let that influence my scoring. I appreciate the linux build, by the way. I see far to few of those in jams.
