Where this game shines is with its atmosphere! The neon colours coupled with the calm and mysterious music with some deepsea sounds in the background make for an incredible and relaxing experience!
Well done!
I really like the way you did the neon lights underwater! It was such a unique and trippy experience! :D Great job overall! Gameplay wise I was exceptionally impressed with the physics of the anchor! However I was experiencing some lag in the webGL mmight be because of the immense number of lights tho! Overall really good~
Very good game! Relaxing and calm (music and environment). Graphics style is consistent. It slows down my computer, too bad ^^ Thanks for your game!
Really loved the style. I enjoyed chasing the fishies hehe. Got a bit lost, felt like i needed some way of getting hints on where the collectibles were or what direction to take.
Oh no, I was swimming so relaxed and minding my own buoysiness and then I got killed by a jellyfish.
I highly recommend playing it. I like that you can swim faster by mashing spacebar. For the impatient people like me this is a godsent. The music and graphical ambience is top notch!
Very nice artistic choices, music & graphisms works well together ! And I'm impressed by the diffrent fishes movements, fishes moves together well done
Just didin't understand the use of the hook and lags a little, but it still was a nice experience
Good job. The game brings great mood. The grappling hook is a great mechanic, although I didn't find us of it.
Love the unique graphics style, the glow works really well! Only issue is it seems to be quite laggy.. but still a fun game :)
Nice art style, the character looked a bit strange but everything else looked great. The space bar didn't seem to do anything most of the time I tried to use it. At one point I figured out that if I kept spamming it then it would eventually trigger and make me swim faster. Cool concept though and fairly relaxing game. The enemies didn't really do much though, they caused the character to turn red but they weren't common enough and didn't chase me that they didn't really pose any threat. I also didn't see any indication of amount of damage, if that's something hidden or if they depleted the air and I just didn't notice, I'm not really sure so didn't know if I was near death or completely fine.
Wow, what a great experience! You really created a unique underwater world in this game. Everything fits together, the music and sound effects, with the bubble noises, the calm notes here and there, very subtle and realxing. Great job!
The graphics are just awesome, everything seems to glow and I love the swimming animation. I like how everything is really made up of lines. The color palette works really well, nice choices, the buoys stand out against the rest, the background is dark, characters light, everything is very clear. You manage to convey an immersive experience using only minimal visual isntruments.
The fish swarms, they have this evasion AI when I swim into them, this really makes this world come to life, very well done!
I did not even need the anchor or grappling hook, I only accidentally clicked and shot it but I think the game works without it. Also I did not shoot anything, I actually did not want to disturb these creatures :-)
It is almost impossible to die in this game. I feel that this could as well just have been a longer underwater experience. Instead of focussing on enemies and the shooting mechanic this would have turned out a different experience had you spent that time on some kind of narrative, maybe things to find underwater, a ship wreck telling some kind of story. Don't get me wrong, I like your game and I see that you tried implementing some typical game mechanics like killing and getting killed. But I think a game jam like this lends itself perfectly to step outside that box. I want to encourage you to take a more uncommon approach in future games because I feel you have the potential to create something very different, in a good way :-)
I just died on porpoise (smurk). It was quite difficult to find someone to kill me. The death pose looks rather harsh :-)
Thanks to all the people who have commented thus far, your feedback is greatly appreciated!
@gonutz nice that you liked the art. I is nice to hear positive feedback even though i was pressed for time in this jam and had to rush a lot of it. Also you are absolutely right, the idea of making a game only about exploring came to our mind but we decided against it in order to complete the game in the 3 days we had.
To all those struggling with lag, i recommend trying the windows version. The game was not designed with a focus on the web version.
I can imagine your process, I have been through it for the sixth time now. Sometimes you start out with an idea and once you have enough of it built to try it out, half the jam has already passed so you change plans quickly. Still this is a very nice game with a really cool atmosphere! Congratulations on this one!
Great looking game and a really nice sound track. The movement also felt pretty good. Once I got stuck inside the big fish and died, was kind of funny. A very enjoyable experience. Good job!
Didn't play or rate, it runs really slow on my Core i5-4590's iGPU which ran other games fine
Really impressive atmosphere! I found it a little hard to know which fish were out to get me and which wernt but had fun just pootling round with the grappling hook. I enjoy that it keeps working after your diver dies like its got things to do without them too. ha
