Foon → Ludum Dare Explorer → LD46 → Rouglike Prototype

Reminds me of "Adventure" for the Atari 2600! It is a bit slow on PCs with lower specs, but I like the general tone.
I liked the graphic style of the game, it is very minimalist and I think it works well. The controls being choppy made me want to tap the move keys instead of hold them down. I would either make movement smoother or let a player move one space at a time just by hitting the key once. The various items in the game made things interesting when you need certain things at certain times. I would like to see more levels but I understand the time constraints make that difficult. Overall nice game.
It is nice for a prototype, the minimalist art style is charming and it is clear what you have to do. Controlling the character ,however, feels awkward. It seems like you are not checking for button presses in every game tick. This makes the character very unresponsive for precise movement. Holding down keys seems to work a lot better right now.
