LD49 — Unstable

Teeter Blocks by TimBeaudet 2021-10-09T09:07:59Z

Hi there, Tim! Add me, check our game ;)

I've played this game right after you published it. Your game itself claims the highest score in "Innovation" category, in my opinion.

I also played some other your games here.

Today I am revising LD and playing and giving ratings.

Unstable Outcome by Exevalon 2021-10-09T09:00:10Z

Hi there! I have not got an Idea. Or is it not fully implemented?

What I thought about game at first glances at screenshots:

1) Player can choose what Mech parts be repaired in next turn. 2) Shooting enemies (waves?) with repaired (or not repaired) guns. 3) Healing Pilot 4) Player gets the result of his management after some turns or waves.

What I got: randomized stories.

I wish your game, your Idea to be developed for some neaty result :)

Wanna Live - Survive! by cavejohnson332 2021-10-09T08:48:53Z

Neat game. Juicy graphics multiplied by short gamplay (can't become boring).

Towering Dice by marcmagus 2021-10-09T05:18:05Z

Very Innovative! It deserves higher ratings, for its curiosity :)

Farscope by LanaLux 2021-10-09T14:25:50Z

Awesome and huoooge game. Crew management is a little underdeveloped: the only thing the Player can do for the ship or crew is to collect resources. If the player were able to fix the systems themselves or take care of the team, it would open the door to more complex and challenging gameplay.

In other aspects, very solid and well made game! Juicy visuals and interiors. And the detail: the ship above planets :)

Wonky Brew by civmaniac 2021-10-09T05:36:33Z

Nice and fun, nice music. But a little imbalanced, when it comes too much ingredients at one place at once.

Malmhund by Martin183 2021-10-07T20:38:16Z

Cool dope gameplay, fine "analog controls" feeling.

Topple Tower by Kroporo 2021-10-09T05:42:22Z

Very cool! Great sound and visuals.

Unstable government by DmitryGalias 2021-10-09T04:45:32Z

Hi there! (we met at GDsecreate's stream) Great game: if you really made it Solo in 72 hours, this game deserves to be in Top-100. It looks almost complete.

Issues I'd notice: 1) For this casual style make more contrast cursor (black arrow with white outline or vice versa). 2) Spacing for growing numbers. I mean money counter when cash exceeds 10k :) 3) Overlappings at the mailbox or at right controls (when it needs to manage trees or farm under UI). 4) A bit repetitive music.

Without these issues, it would be perfectly completed hypercasual game during LD format. I've finished game with $4200 with 4th attempt.

Re:Kotel by gdesecrate 2021-10-09T04:53:50Z

Got over 80 easily, as found how to effectively control the vessel.

I must notice the jarring sound when bullet hits - please manage some more pleasant sound for main actions in your next games :)

Considering your time limitations, the game is fine, has nice visuals and solid concept.

LD50 — Delay the inevitable

Trains VS Zombies by LordMiji 2022-04-14T05:03:24Z

Interesting idea, but core loop is unfinished. It might be playable with two features: - events at stations (get cargo and passengers, get a new destination, unload cargo/passengers) - zombies?

Also restart is bugged (that is also a game loop bug).

Evacuation by someone 2022-04-15T06:19:28Z

Nice idea, the gameplay can hook the player. Give player some scoped weapon and increase the shot range, and this game will be much enjoyable. Points system in underdeveloped, by the reason of short play session and ineffective turrets.

Mysni's Revenge by LexiChan 2022-04-14T05:55:37Z

Game is launching fine. I did not get the goal... to advance as far as possible? Did not get how to deal with shop - prices over stuff would be good. Also I did not understand how to manage route: no build controls, no buttons to build a railroad segment etc (at least it builds automatically). In other aspects, nice idea for an arcade shooter. I've got interested in gameplay, got pretty far during second run, died by uncertain reason. Also mouse sensitivity is incredibly high.

Totally Accurate Northern Rail Simulator by Luke Perkin 2022-04-14T05:12:18Z

Well-made game with solid game loop. Zero bugs spotted.

Later... by Kizu 2022-04-15T06:50:58Z

It is amazing how you made so complete game during the jam. Rare thing.

Voidomation by CookieRA 2022-04-15T23:48:45Z

Huge amount of efforts. I see the potential of this game since I have hundreds of hours in Factorio. But right now I don't have enough time and brain resource to dive deep into game mechanics :) The game is time-demanding (learning curve, play session length). But you guys made an awesome machinery.

ad astrum sum by eeperdeheap 2022-04-14T05:21:34Z

Well done game, except one thing: there is no "win" condition once ship get Home. Controls feel nice.

Bird Dream by FuzzyDunlop 2022-04-15T08:40:56Z

Well made for the solo Jam format. The major thing, IMO, the alarm screen should not overlap an incoming landscape.

First Ludum Dare work by guigui93 2022-04-14T05:30:36Z

Congrats with first LD participation and submission! Actually, the game is well done. It is fun to play for a couple of minutes. There is a lose condition, and a win condition. Fully working core loop is more important sometimes, than tons of unfinished features.

Stop the ocean by TCoder12 2022-04-15T06:08:13Z

Well made for solo submission. Seems that this is your first LD jam - really nice work, like you have skill and vision of building games. I would not enumerate underdeveloped stuff, you know it.

Ecollapse by Daniel Robledo 2022-04-15T06:58:16Z

As previous players said, the gameplay rules are unclear. Graphics and sound are good. I'd notice planet-friendly and cozy colorful graphics and color palette.

Requiem by MaidAndReady 2022-04-15T07:27:21Z

Honestly, text-based quests and adventures is not my forte, but I'd notice efforts you've put into this solid game.

LD54 — Limited Space

Target Ball Z by TimBeaudet 2023-10-08T20:38:21Z

Very Hard to control the car. Tim mentioned "turning music down" for better control (as joke). But that actually might be an interesting mechanic. For narrow and calm places turn in-game music down (car less bumpy), for challenging places like pits player should turn music louder to jump higher. But overall, the game has its funny moments and "public parking" irony.

One Step Further by justking144 2023-10-09T03:46:30Z

Interesting approach to graphics. Also nice motivational conclusion.

Squire of Holding by Juutis 2023-10-08T21:34:18Z

Ended with 4582, funny game. The main attitude it has: "what happens next?!" It might be better with SOME MORE advanced upgrades. I've got all upgrades at levels 6-7, then just collected money. p.s. Legendary tard is legendary. legendary-tard.jpg

Introvertigo by Scott Steffes 2023-10-08T04:56:31Z

This game expresses well the annoyingness of annoying people. This funny moment when you want to quickly interrupt the conversation with the right words (as you think), but the person only gets excited. Of course, great graphics.

Gulvis Journey by J0ye 2023-10-08T23:48:42Z

Funny and well-made game! The main issue is: sand platforms mechanic is frustrating. Can't move towards points and bonuses, and can't do much with it with current mechanics.

Driller Instinct by MaximeG 2023-10-09T03:34:54Z

I've played this game too much. Let's say, digged too deep...

You can check the playtest on youtube. I edited the 1 hour video to be short as possible to highlight essential things I explored in your game.

Spoiler: dying being unable to get safe - that is the real tragedy of this game.

Cap Sized by LarsDu 2023-10-08T04:26:19Z

I downloaded this game because the preview was interesting - I was expecting interesting gameplay. Of course, the game is not finished and not polished. There is not enough challenge for the player, not enough freedom of action. Saving nearby drowning people (due to time limits) requires picking up everyone who is lucky enough to be nearby.

Train of memories by creativ4eg 2023-10-08T04:09:44Z

Very unobvious mechanics at first. I had to spend several restarts to figure it out. Overall, it is interesting and heartwarming. Pity that it's short. This concept could be developed into rich life stories or some kind of story arcs.

Robo Rush Hour by michaelaranda 2023-10-08T21:45:34Z

Cool approach to tetris, awesome graphics and sound. I'd like to see more thrilling lore or story behind the scene :D

Space Cargo, Ltd. by ditam 2023-10-15T02:00:10Z

Congrats! Very solid and well-made solo jam game! As arcade, it might have some challenge element (like limited time or some danger). As tactical game, it might provide some more things to think about (fuel, repair). But anyway, very original concept, and game is pretty stable and playable!

UNLimited Space by Guardaro 2023-10-09T01:20:38Z

Cool game, also awesome mix of VFX and SFX.

ROLLiE and the Desert Drive by civmaniac 2023-10-09T01:02:23Z

Incredibly good work for the team of two people within 3 days! Very immersive game. The only imperfection is too repetitive music.

Skypiercer by Caladrius 2023-10-15T04:20:06Z

I have read the the predescription about text-based elements, so prepared myself to proper mindset, brought some fluids. Then I started. My right hand moved fast, and fingers of left hand accurately hit proper buttons, until I finally had entered the portal that led me to another level of indie gamedev pleasure. Good work.

Grey Eminence by alisher_fazilov 2023-10-09T03:58:03Z

Really nice LD submission for one man made game.

Island City Builder by AlexTengu 2023-10-09T15:52:19Z

@ditam nice point  Uncle simply knows that his dear nephew is very talented. There is no reason for uncle to doubt financial and administrative genius of his relative. Thanks for review :) We will play Space Cargo Ltd soon.

Legends of Lore by siberpunk01 2023-10-14T20:30:49Z

Game is fun and well made, despite it has only two characters. Fighting (classic fighting!) is not a trivial task. So you made a noticeable effort on this. But.. installing a 25 MBytes jam game, seriously? :D

Control Your Luck by KinGelaim 2023-10-09T04:05:26Z

Funny reaction game. Also interesting hand made arts. As mentioned by others, LMB and RMB controls would be more intuitive.

Bit Golf by badcop 2023-10-08T03:56:25Z

I've spent lot of time on this game. Interesting mechanic, and well-detailed (quite realistic) gameplay in terms of data compression :)

The Big Crunch by Ategon 2023-10-08T03:53:09Z

Nice mini games. Some graphics are moody and well done. The vibe reminds some sort of TV shows with short and ironic sketches.

Bathtub Buccaneers by Cloverfall 2023-10-08T23:52:53Z

Can say I love this game prototype! It is a little naive, but fun and intense. So sad that it's short, and have lack of QoL stuff (like waves, HP bars, more realistic movement and so on..).

Loss Of Signal by Lee Martin 77 2023-10-09T04:30:01Z

Awesome game! The combination of mechanics and visuals has potential to become a crowd favorite (if developed further). Mini Metro, Osmos and similar games come to mind.

Cat Games by alzhu1 2023-10-09T01:12:22Z

Well made and basically finished game. Unfortunately, not in "Compo" category. Such game might have been so cool in Compo. Would mention three imperfections: 1. no story or win/lose grounds 2. small amount of levels (and they are simple) 3. unobvious "last jump" mechanics.

Trash.exe by Natano 2023-10-09T04:16:02Z

It is interesting to imagine programs as alive beings. Your game provides some sort of cyberspace fantasy - it is cool.

Magnetic Rescue by SevenOne 2023-10-15T02:19:50Z

Feels like the space pilot is doomed. My record is ~70k points (I outsmarted the beam twice). But actually it is impossible to last longer since the beam cuts the way to another magnet or battery. Also did not figure out what "atoms" do and why to collect them. But as solo game, very solid result!
