Nice

littlew00d 2021-10-05 13:28

I survived the day and served zero customers. A day well spent!

jitspoe 2021-10-06 03:30

Just like in real life, nobody seemed happy with my service, but I made it through the day.

marcmagus 2021-10-06 14:57

I wish the machines were labeled, but the core loop is satisfying, and customers willing to take whatever you give them and only complain after drinking is interesting and sometimes hilarious.

bios3008 2021-10-06 21:05

Really nice game with a interesting perspective. : D

rufson 2021-10-07 04:41

I played this while drinking my coffee because I'm addicted to caffeine. I felt very bad that the clients could not satisfy their desires either, even though I was cooling myself until the fridge fell to hell :fire: I love the coffee piramide picture.

outfrost 2021-10-07 18:51

Thanks for checking out our game! Loving the feedback so far. Maybe we can improve a few things for later!

neeko69 2021-10-07 21:04

I did have no idea of what I was doing, but with the power of clicking on anything it works, really fun overall. I think some of the coffee machines could have some labels.

martin183 2021-10-07 21:13

I can't get it to run on macOS, my computer just says that the app is broken :(

outfrost 2021-10-08 02:02

@martin183 Interesting. I checked and the binary has execute permission inside the zip. How does macOS run apps typically? Do you launch `LD49.app`?

fabula-rasa 2021-10-08 02:07

I really wished the machines had some labels, or some other visual clues, to tell me which one makes which coffee. As there is no immediate customer feedback on whether you did well or poorly, it's hard to figure out, which machine makes what. If the customer would be screaming "heeeeey, that's not what I ordered" (or something to that effect) immediately after picking up the tray, the player could easily figure out the machines on his own. As it is now, not so much.

Core gameplay is solid and engaging, even if you manage to serve only one customer during the whole day, and you're not really sure why

I liked the visual style as well, except for the gray floating customers, who were kinda creepy - just like in real life ;). But I'll take a guess that their grayness and floatiness is a result of a lack of time, which we all know well.

Overall, it's a solid piece of a jam game and nice work!

forik 2021-10-08 03:07

Interesting game, but strange control for me

outfrost 2021-10-08 03:21

Thanks for checking it out @forik! Anything in particular that felt strange for you about the controls?

simpathey 2021-10-08 04:28

Fun game! But I would color coat the customer to the thing they want or use some kind of really clear BIG icons. If you do a post jam version that would make the gameplay easier to succeed in. Also a queue that shows what customer is up next and what they want. Impressive graphics for the time period of a jam, gosh dang. :D

steve7411 2021-10-08 11:16

When you try to open the macOS build, it just says '“LD49.app” is damaged and can’t be opened. You should move it to the Trash.' My best guess is it's related to app signing. In any case, if you manually run the executable inside the app package from the terminal, it works fine.

inokentii-best 2021-10-08 18:33

Funny game. The concept is cool =)

outfrost 2021-10-08 18:41

@steve7411 Ah, unfortunately if it is due to codesigning, there is nothing I can do about it.

As Steve said, for anyone running macOS, it should work if you open a terminal in the same folder as LD49.app, and run: ```sh LD49.app/Contents/MacOS/LD49 ```

I Like the Idea, im nor sure if the "trial an error" was planned. You dont know witch coffee is wich one. Im not seeing the "Unstable" Theme in this game. But over all: Good idea, great artwork. I Like the game

gdesecrate 2021-10-08 19:46

The menu shows main character - the room. When you start the game the filthy humans appear and ruin all by their presense!

tricky-fat-cat 2021-10-08 21:27

I like this fun game, I wish I never got to such a caffee.

outfrost 2021-10-08 21:40

Checked out after your stream! Cool entry!

emkani 2021-10-10 11:55

I like this one, I don't know my coffees so it took some time to figure out what was what. I also feel the theme is a bit thin but not bad.

basset-romain 2021-10-10 14:10

Nice Game, but the machines needs labels.

coleslaughter 2021-10-10 23:54

[Thanks for submitting your game to stream!](https://www.twitch.tv/videos/1171489560?t=03h04m33s)

As god as my witness, I will serve at least one customer when I pick this back up again...

javicoder 2021-10-11 10:42

it is a good and original idea. The graphics are not bad for a gamejam. The animations would have given a quality point, but it is normal to run out of time. It plays quite well.

elysiagriffin 2021-10-11 17:01

i like the concept but maybe put the names of the machines helps, i cant serve even 1 customer, dont get it how u serve them the coffees, good game!

ismael-rodriguez 2021-10-15 00:06

Cool game. I made it through the day serving 0 customers, not sure that's supposed to be possible. I just kept clicking on things, and I thought I was doing it right, but apparently no one gets coffee in my shop lol

I guess it's because I don't know which machine should be used to serve which customers, and I didn't notice any feedback to tell me if I've served them correctly.

Visually the game looks really good, although it's incomplete (grey characters with no animation), it looks like it was coming out great.

Good job overall!

outfrost 2021-10-15 00:20

Thank you all so much for checking out our game and all the excellent feedback!

Thanks for sending your game to my stream!

I love food-service games, and this hits all the right time-management buttons for me. It does need some more love for the user-experience though, like being able to tell which machines are which, and I didn't get a really clear indicator if I passed or failed an order.

Your scene is really lively. All the little bits and bobs, the look of the place, and the art on the walls made it come alive. It felt like an actual coffee shop, and it was easy to overlook the unanimated/textured customers because of it.

I'm looking forward to seeing your post-LD build, I'd definitely play more of this!

togis 2021-10-18 04:46

Hey there! This game was a bit complicate to play but still fun and showing a lot of potential! Thanks for joining us live!

I finally had the time to come back and rate everything I played so far!

Very fun game, fits well the theme. It required a bit of guesswork, but fun anyway.

2021-11-12 08:28

Wow, how many coffee cups! I try not to use paper cups for coffee because I think it is very harmful to the ecology. I went to https://kcupsforsale.com/k-cup-brands/eight-oclock-the-original-medium-roast-k-cup-coffee-pods/, these are capsules that I make at home in my coffee machine, and then I use a silicone cup to take coffee with me.

2022-06-14 23:42

this is insane info

2022-06-14 23:43

I prefer to drink coffee at work, and there is not much time for careful brewing, we use coffee capsules. I find it very convenient and the coffee is great, of course, if you choose the capsules that you like the most. I usually find Coffee pods in USA [granomilano](https://granomilano.us/) here and I recommend you to look too. I personally like full-bodied coffee with a dark roast, but sometimes you can get ristretto capsules as well. I think you can experiment here already.
