Loving the design and graphics. The music really fits the game. It'd be nice if there was a subtle sound for the spaceship and if possible a level control for the music. I find myself a bit distracted by it when I was trying to figure out the game.

I noticed sometimes shipments could be for the planet they were coming from. Other than that it seems like a nice game!

wisch 2023-10-03 22:56

Really nice design and a good concept. The atmospheric background music really fits the game.

floralvikings 2023-10-03 22:56

Enjoyed it quite a bit, enough that I played through to the end! It would have benefited from a slightly smaller viewport (I had to scroll to see the full area) and an indicator of destination for cargo already in the hold, but overall great game!

I did notice a bug with the planet on the bottom-right, the cargo area boxes are broken with the 4x4 ship:

I had fun playing this - I sometimes lost track of where something needed to be delivered and i wasn't always sure which slots in the inventory were going to be taken. Iliked being able to buy multiple ships and build a fleet

the-xj-project 2023-10-03 22:59

Very nicely polished gameplay with good ideas keep up the good work! Also @SpaceLtdGang

muri 2023-10-03 23:17

Loved the atmosphere. Felt like it got a little bit confusing once you had multiple ships, and not being able to tell where the cargo should go once you load it made me forget which planet I had to travel to a few times. Being able to move and rearrange your cargo could have been a nice addition. Overall still a fun and relaxing game with fitting music and art style, congrats!

Nice and cute game, but lacks of some automatization or something, because managing several ships is quite difficult and seems useless, because ships moves quite fast, even not speedster, so you don't have much motivation to switch between ships. But it has a potential, it may became cool relaxing casual strategy game! Good luck.

mncc8337 2023-10-04 15:46

love the clean graphics and music! but is the total cash supposted to be smaller than 0? if i repair all the com-links and let the cash smaller than 0 then it is clearly an advantage in the early game because it lets you see all the cargo request. you should show the destination when load the cargo because when i forget what the destination i need no move between planet a few time until it get delivered. by the way nice work!

magic-mike 2023-10-04 16:21

Nice mood, good gameplay, great execution. Good job ! Sometimes i got quite lost in the UI, maybe add a visual effect on the ship selected?

christian-zommerfelds 2023-10-04 19:13

Nice vibes! Good music and beautiful UI.

Some nits: * It was hard to see where the cargo had to go after you accepted it * It was hard to select a ship (ideally clicking near the planet would be more intuitive) * Sometime I would get requests to deliver to the same planet!

lucavazz 2023-10-04 22:24

A nice take on the theme, I enjoyed it. The music is very atmospheric.

Some additional SFX of the ship flying / slowing down to get in orbit might be nice.

Also an option to "re-shuffle" your cargo after flying to a different planet might be helpful, otherwise I sometimes had to cycle across all the planets to get more space šŸ˜…

Delighted to see a fully web-based game, great work! A preview showing the current position in the cargo space for the items would be very handy. Most of the time, it was not clear to me why I currently can't fit that thing in or where I have to click to get it in. Also, information about where the current items in cargo have to be shipped would be nice because I forget everything a second after reading the destination ':D.

binroot 2023-10-05 15:26

Simplicity of the music and art pair well together! Never played a game like this before, so it was pretty innovative!

destroyertech 2023-10-06 11:27

High points for fun and top points for mood (music perfectly complements the idea of the game)! Agree with other previous comments about some small QoL improvements that could be made: - cargo destination being accessible via the ship interface as well - cargo destination not being same as origin - needs a volume control

But those are just minor feedback - very hard to get everything perfect (or even finished) in a game jam (I'm sure we can all relate haha) so overall really great work; I enjoyed playing

steffo 2023-10-06 21:33

Really liked the game!

Found a few bugs you may want to fix:

- "Buy a new ship" dialogs stack on each other - Scrolling down the web page causes pieces to be misaligned relative to the mouse - Planets can produce delivery requests to themselves

Also, an idea to improve even further the user interface: do cargo types have an effect on the gameplay? If not, a simple and great improvement would be color-coding the packages of the same color as the planet they need to go to!

Oh, and you may want to rename "Trapana" to "[Trapani](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Trapani)" :stuck_out_tongue_closed_eyes:

ditam 2023-10-07 22:09

Thanks everyone for the kind words and general feedback, each and every one of your comments is much appreciated!

Indeed there was a bug that allowed delivery requests to target the same planet they originate from, I've just pushed a fix for this.

Many of you complimented the music: the accolades belong to **yd** on opengameart.com, the opening track is ["Observing The Star" from here](https://opengameart.org/content/another-space-background-track). The second track is also by the same author, and the third one is by the user **Tozan** on the same site. There is an attributions file in the assets folder with links in the GitHub repo.

Thanks @floralvikings! A fullscreen toggle was planned, but it was very far from making the cut during submission hour, go figure. I went for a static fullHD (1920x1080) viewport in the end, and I actually can't reproduce your bug yet (heavy cargo ships display fine for me even in this bottom right corner), but I'll try to fix both of these issues in a post-jam version. The screenshot is much appreciated.

Thanks for the suggestions @peremily, @muri, @mncc8337, @magic-mike, @christian-zommerfelds, @destroyertech as well, in that post-jam update, I do plan on improving the cargo management, in particular: - it should be possible (and to boot, easy) to see the destinations of the current cargo - the current fullness of the ship should be visible while in transit between planets - it would be nice to be able to select existing cargo to see its details, and maybe even to jettison it :)

I'm not sure yet if these controls should go into the ship list bar on the top of the screen, or if they should be displayed next to the ship, but it's clear that they are needed.

I also plan to add some visual effect to identify and highlight which ship is currently selected.

ditam 2023-10-08 19:05

Thanks @steffo, I think over the centuries the names of these Sicilian towns have gone through some minor changes ;)

Regarding cargo types, they currently do not have an effect. I had multiple ideas related to them (such as special placement rules, and some story elements), but they didn't fit into the jam timeline. For now, they are only there for immersion! And for filling the space in the UI for a nice balanced look. I mean immersion, yeah.

I am pretty confident I'll be creating a post-jam version that will utilize them though! Otherwise your idea to color code the destinations is quite elegant, and would have worked great for the scope as it is.

ogelgames 2023-10-09 08:16

This is cool! I really like how you combined polyomino puzzles with a logistics game. It would be great to be able to see what planets each ship needs to go to, remembering all the cargo in each ship is really hard! :D

fisher2470 2023-10-10 20:39

Really great concept and really great use of the theme, found it to be a bit too much for me to handle at around three concurrent ships

atlasflame 2023-10-14 03:47

Looks great and is fun to play. I always seem to get drawn into these games with a trading system. One point to note is that, the web version doesn't seem to really adjust for different possible screen sizes. given my resolution(1366/768), I did have to zoom out a decent bit in order to fit the whole game on my screen.

alextengu 2023-10-15 02:00

Congrats! Very solid and well-made solo jam game! As arcade, it might have some challenge element (like limited time or some danger). As tactical game, it might provide some more things to think about (fuel, repair). But anyway, very original concept, and game is pretty stable and playable!

madbarron 2023-10-15 15:23

Cool little game, it's always fun to make money :)

I found that I wanted to pick up and rearrange cargo that was already on board, and it would have been nice to see a preview of the cargo before I place it. I had fun! Thanks for not making me pay for fuel.
