LD48 — Deeper and deeper

Fathom Pass by Listonos 2021-04-26T11:10:20Z

This is brilliant! Nicely done!

Deepspace by Willops 2021-04-29T21:01:01Z

Playing this game, I was super impressed with the level of polish and even more impressed when I returned to the page and saw that it was a compo game. I loved the music and that the art was simple, but fluid. I also thought that the inventory system was cleverly designed and added a valuable layer to the game.

My only suggestion would be to add a short transition animation when jumping between star systems, as being thrown straight into battle felt a bit disorienting to me. Otherwise great game!

Terminal Decension by tinykidtoo 2021-04-28T17:32:01Z

That was pretty fun. The controls and shooting mechanics were slick and the music was well made. Great game!

Embark by Pseudohausen 2021-04-26T15:29:03Z

I was a bit confused at first, but the game turned out to be oddly relaxing and addictive. I think it'd make a great mobile game if development were to continue.

Reach the Core by kavehes 2021-04-26T09:48:53Z

Great game! I really liked the art style of the character. I think it could use a bit more variation on obstacle layouts, but otherwise it was well polished and fun to play.

AeroCat by W0oly 2021-04-28T12:57:01Z

Wow, the artwork is stunning! I also really liked the gliding controls and that there was more to the movement than just move left and right.

Path to Tribute by machrom 2021-04-30T15:48:55Z

Fun game with some solid gameplay. The underlying idea is somewhat similar to that of my own entry, so I found it fascinating to see it implemented differently. I think you took the right approach in focusing on the core mechanics rather than graphics, which is something I didn't quite get right in my game. I also thought the music was actually pretty good.

Mandahlia by MicroChasm 2021-04-28T16:28:27Z

Loved the art style and music. The controls were very slick and felt good. Awesome game!

What's in the Bottom? by Lex 2021-04-26T13:58:49Z

A smart and well polished implementation of this kind of game. I liked the idea of treating failures, such as accidentally catching a fish, as an achievement in its own right.

Lava Runner by ShaggyFox 2021-04-28T16:51:03Z

Nice game with an interesting idea. One suggestion I'd make is to have the camera follow the player so that they can move at their own pace.

Cave Rider by Iker Díaz 2021-04-28T14:40:44Z

I love the look and feel of this game. I agree with the others who have said that the enemies are too fast, which made it super difficult from the get-go.

Pressure by smt 2021-04-27T10:00:24Z

Nice game. The controls felt slick and I liked the visual style. I thought the enemies could afford to be a bit more aggressive.

Drop n Grab by samguy 2021-04-25T21:38:10Z

The game doesn't load for me when I try to play in the browser (Chrome).

Edit: Seems to be a problem on my side.

Dungeons Deep by Lonithor 2021-04-26T15:01:44Z

Great to see a first person game here. Is there a way to block or avoid enemy attacks? I keep just trading blows and dying on the first level.

Baby's First Concussion by Roolow 2021-04-26T16:13:24Z

Nice take on Super Mario x Inception. The controls felt a bit floaty/clunky, but otherwise a solid, funny and enjoyable game. Nicely done!

Adventure in Socksland by OwlyCode 2021-04-27T16:15:08Z

Awesome game! Loved the art and humor. Are you supposed to respawn with only 1/4 of your battery?

SpinPlan by Fupi 2021-04-27T11:27:33Z

Pretty cool game, albeit a bit clunky at times. I think using the mouse for this was perfectly suitable, but I would suggest using an angle-based dragging approach rather than a horizontal/vertical dragging approach, as it would probably feel more intuitive.

Depths of the Mind by chris-mondok 2021-04-26T18:49:14Z

Fun and atmospheric game. I thought the depth meter was a pretty cool touch.

Gone Diggin' by XeduR 2021-04-26T13:53:32Z

Simple mechanics but really fun to play. The infinite level system was cleverly done.

Soul Catcher by DragonsBeardGames 2021-04-26T12:35:44Z

Great idea and well executed! I liked the use of the soul catchers to give the player something to do while the battle happened as well as to generate their income. Well done!

GodMode by Landerack 2021-04-27T19:59:55Z

Great artwork. I'm curious to see how this would have turned out if given more time.

Zombified by chesschaser 2021-04-27T09:48:18Z

Valiant effort, the core mechanics are all there. Two suggestions I would have are to: 1. Add textures to the water or change the color of the background water in order to help the player's depth perception. 2. Be careful of placing trees in places that can block the player's camera.

Otherwise nice work, keep it up!

Khazads by vsi- 2021-04-28T09:26:14Z

Good work on the sound design, it felt very atmospheric.

In Too Deep by RefraX295 2021-04-27T15:59:58Z

Thanks for the awesome feedback @youthfulidealism, I totally agree with your points. There actually is WASD camera controls implemented, although its not mentioned anywhere in the game so its not very obvious.

As for the audio, I ran out of time to create any so there isn't any in this build.

In Too Deep by RefraX295 2021-04-27T16:02:08Z

@vincent-abel-grimalt @samguy Thanks for the feedback and for alerting me to the bug!

I'm So Deep by liammasters 2021-04-25T21:33:05Z

Nice game! I enjoyed the humor, art and music. The gameplay was a bit confusing as wasn't sure if I was doing well or not.

GOBLIN HAMBURGER LASER ARENA by youthfulIdealism 2021-04-27T15:08:13Z

Wow, that was fun to play. The mouth-laser was super satisfying to fire, especially when charged to the max. Excellent work!

Panda Prize Pusher by PhthaloGold 2021-04-26T07:27:46Z

Very well polished. The art and music were amazing, and it felt super satisfying when I got the panda to finally fall along with the other plushies.

Canyoneer by Kieron Woodhouse 2021-04-26T18:56:24Z

Awesome game! The rappelling mechanic was pretty cool and surprisingly intuitive to use.

Treasure Dive by Wuppos 2021-04-26T07:47:34Z

I love the look and feel of this game and the switching between open and submerged areas is an interesting mechanic.

WINCH by Gorialis 2021-04-26T14:17:51Z

One of my favorites from this jam. The puzzles were well designed and I loved the look and feel of the game.

Dark Dungeons and Scary Creatures (DDSC) by Python_B 2021-04-26T18:27:54Z

I get "Access denied" on the Google Drive link. You may need to set it to public.

Lu Mole Dare by Boeruchan 2021-04-26T11:29:05Z

Cute art style. I did not expect some of the endings I got...

LD49 — Unstable

Frogmented World by spudboy 2021-10-05T14:15:56Z

Really cool mechanic that is cleverly used to craft interesting puzzles.

Orbital Turbulence by Bewelge 2021-10-03T20:14:55Z

Great idea and well implemented. I quite liked the creative sound effects as well.

Unstable Magicks by Untitled Studios 2021-10-06T06:50:23Z

Fun game with simple but satisfying graphics. Well done!

Cold Eyes by DraperDanMan 2021-10-04T09:11:07Z

Pretty fun! There's a surprising amount of strategy to the gameplay.

Plains In The Sky by TevasLiutauras 2021-10-04T08:58:41Z

Absolutely brilliant game, from idea to implementation to polish. Loved it!

Orbitris by BOOtak 2021-10-04T19:20:20Z

Really cool idea. Despite being counter intuitive, it was fun and interesting enough that I was determined to keep playing and get better.

Uranium-236 by XeduR 2021-10-08T18:28:47Z

Cool concept with a good implementation. I found it rather satisfying to set off chain reactions even though the usually led to a meltdown.

Totally Stable Docking Simulator by mlkvr 2021-10-05T14:26:20Z

Interesting concept and the gameplay was fun and intuitive. The game could do with a bit more structure though, such as goals or levels.

Komuro by Ghoulean 2021-10-08T18:54:47Z

Fun and intuitive game. With a bit of polish, this would make a great mobile game.

One suggestion I have is to add some constraints to the puzzle generation to prevent near-parallel lines, as they're difficult to see and solve.

Lemmini by aplegatt 2021-10-04T08:18:17Z

Nice work, especially on the artwork. I'm not sure if the aim of the was to build bridges, but I was able to finish all the levels by carrying the lemming across the map my the mouse. Would be cool to see it focused more on the building aspect.

Reactor Cleanup by z0rly 2021-10-06T06:42:31Z

Fun and difficult game. Having to keep the reactor position in mind when shooting added an interesting layer to the gameplay. As has already been mentioned, I did have some issues with mouse sensitivity and enemies spawning on top of me.

LD56 — Tiny Creatures

Space Invaders by Jiri Hysek 2024-10-07T09:23:35Z

I really enjoyed this one. Both the visuals and gameplay were great, although it was a bit easy as I could just spam the attack. Great work!

Maginot by vfqd 2024-10-07T16:36:42Z

Its insane that you were able to make something of this scale and polish in just 48 hours. Well done!

Tiny Trooper by Juutis 2024-10-08T15:23:22Z

What an awesome game! Loved the visual style and sounds effects, and the sniper rifle felt so satisfying to shoot.

Buzzy Hill by Klaus Peter 2024-10-07T09:02:52Z

"Gurl, I feel like I'm starving in the next 19.99456 seconds" -Relatable

I liked the art style and mood, great game.

Tiny Creatures by kernon 2024-10-07T09:09:13Z

Cool concept. The controls are a bit finicky though and it would be great if you could remove just your last placed sign instead of all of them. Would be cool to see this idea expanded upon.

Tiny Creatures - Lost Kittens by ybzpp 2024-10-08T14:29:08Z

That was amazing. You did such a great job in setting the mood of the game and also mixing it up from time to time.

Carnivorous Corpse Aquarium : Feed & Thrive by Adrien Tremblay 2024-10-08T12:12:53Z

Love the concept and art style. Would have liked to see a bit more depth in terms of purchase options, but the game was still enjoyable for its duration.

Apex Elysium by Bogden 2024-10-07T10:33:19Z

This is the first game I've seen that uses boids as part of the main gameplay mechanic and you've pulled it off nicely. Great work!

TinyType by SeiRan 2024-10-07T07:07:06Z

Cute game with a nice approach to gamifying typing practice. Needing to press backspace when you make a mistake breaks the flow a bit, but otherwise I enjoyed it and Gort.

TinyType by SeiRan 2024-10-07T07:07:06Z

Cute game with a nice approach to gamifying typing practice. Needing to press backspace when you make a mistake breaks the flow a bit, but otherwise I enjoyed it and Gort.

Edit: Sorry for the double post. The site submitted twice for some reason.

Dance with the Sprites by Flewbimo 2024-10-07T09:16:05Z

I like the tradeoff between being able to see and attack. Would make an interesting mechanic to build a full horror game around. Nice work!
