I really enjoyed this one. Both the visuals and gameplay were great, although it was a bit easy as I could just spam the attack. Great work!

I really enjoyed this one. Both the visuals and gameplay were great, although it was a bit easy as I could just spam the attack. Great work!
@refrax295 Thanks! I thought spamming wouldn't be an option with bouncy bullets and instakills :) I guess you are really skillful in dodging bullets :D
Ahoj Jirko! I f*cking love your ideas haha. This is SO good. I can totally see this as a full game idea. It's challenging, it's fun, but it's easy to understand. Haven't experienced any bugs, and the gameplay is smooth as always. Art is amazing and sound effects are great.
@iluvatar Thanks a lot! I'm happy with how it turned out. There are probably still a few minor bugs, I ran off the time with music but after all that stress on Sunday afternoon, it ended up quite well :)
In my opinion the mechanics are unique! The exciting concept with centrifugal gravity and fun "bouncing" bullets is something. The visuals are simply stunning and the gameplay is smooth and fun. Although the levels seemed a little simple, it did not spoil the fun at all.
Mission accomplished!

This was fun to play. Something about the clinking sound of the footsteps combined with the soft glow of the visuals made it feel strangely relaxing, even though I was getting shot at.
The first time gravity flipped when I double-jumped, really hooked me. Flipping back and forth between the platforms, and even being able to jump clear to the other side of the level was really fun. It was also cool that your own bullets hurt you (and the enemies bullets hurt them), so spamming bullets wasn't a super great option for me, since I inevitably got hit by my own shots when trying to reach the exit.
My only complaint is that the jumping was inconsistent while I was moving. It only seemed to trigger about half of the time, which lead to some frustrating deaths. I started always double-jumping, because that seemed to be a consistent way of getting off the ground.
Overall, great work, and a really fun exploration of the movement mechanics!
Oh that's such a good entry. The mechanics are really interesting and the levels very balanced in my opinion. There's an issue jumping, I think I can't do that while moving? Except for that, I think that's an extremely polished game with good fun value here. You did an amazing job. The art is so good and matches the gameplay perfectly!
@andrewkennedy @crocidb Thanks guys! I almost thought I managed to fix all the bugs :D It's probably an issue with Godot's native is_on_floor() function - maybe with a combination of gravity, walking causes a little bumping so sometimes it thinks the creature is in the air and won't jump. I should have used my own ray cast to check whether the creature is grounded... lesson learned :) Anyway, I'm glad you enjoyed the game anyway!
The last level was really hard but managed to finish it, nice one! :) The art especially the animations are really polished, congrats! It was also really fun, I had only one issue: being in the middle was frustrating at times so I tried to avoid it. I think it was because I always tried to go to the outer circle by double jumping. Because that's how I switched from the outer circle to the inner. While I understand what's the logic behind 1 jump being enough for switching from inner to outer... it feels a bit inconsistent which isn't really helpful in a fast paced game. :D Or maybe I just need more practice. Though nice entry as always Jiri, keep up the good work!
@tudvari I see, good point! Some people have a feeling that something is not right there I can feel it too but it's hard to say what exactly. This may be one of the things. Also jumping is sometimes ignored, and also when you jump forward (not directly up), the gravity vector is (of course) changing during your jump, so gravity grabs you forward more than you'd expect. It's probably correct but it feels weird too :)
Anyway, thanks for your feedback and I'm glad you still find it fun :)
Nice game. It feels really polished. Its a simple yet fun concept. The difficulty level was also pretty good which can be hard with these kind of games. Very nice!
Ohh and the graphics are very nice. Looks very nice style.
Solid game guy. Sounds are hard hitting. Animations on point. jumping feels weird because it's in a circle, but I believe that's intentional. :D great entry and great job! I beat it "mission accomplished" :D
Jumping to the center took a double jump but jumping from the center was a single jump. That felt a little weird but otherwise it's a really great idea. I can see this being fun as a single screen pvp style game with friends.
@bangkerpow yeah, also @tudvari said that. I guess it was not the best gameplay decision but it’s intentional - there is a centrifugal force that pulls you from the center to the edges. But you are a spider so you can walk on “ceilings”. The Center works as a ceiling. But when you leave the ceiling, the gravity pulls you down. There is no reason why a spider should double jump to get from a ceiling to the floor.
I agree, though. It would feel more consistent if you had to double jump to get to the other side no matter what other side it is.
And I was thinking about hotseat multiplayer, it could be cool!
Thanks for your feedback!
This game is super fun! Everything feels really clean and solid. Good job!
Simple and intuitive gameplay, good arts and animation, sfx and music right for the mood, the only bad thing I found with this game is that it's too short :stuck_out_tongue: Good job!
What a cool idea, very well done in such a short time! It was a nice challenge.
The mechanics look hard, but once you play a few levels, you get used to it and it's very fun. Those robot insects won't dare to attack again. I loved stomping them.
I think hotseat multiplayer is a great idea as well, both coop and versus could be very fun! I'll make sure to try it again if you add that.

Very interesting twist to traditional platformers! It took awhile to get userd to inverting the controls when I'm up side down, but it felt more like a uniqueness of the game rather than a frustration. The graphics are nice too! Sometimes when I double jump it sends me back to the "ground" instead of towards the direction I was jumping, that felt a little frustrating.
Awesome entry. Was really hard sometimes, but a lot of fun too.
"2001 Space Odyssey"-like music would be indeed awesome here. As requested, I was playing some Strauss in my head while playing the game  Great audio
The visuals are great. The creatures are well-designed and clean, the animations are juicy, and the color work is very good. Really a pleasure to look at. The game plays well, and I didn't experience any bugs (ekhhh... except for the bugs that I was killing... while being yet another bug ). The concept of a circular "platformer" is unique - at least, I never played anything like that.
It's all really impressive, and doubly so when I consider that it's a compo game! I wish I had some improvement suggestion for you, but I got nothing. It's great. On a side note, the first thing I did on level 1 was promptly kill myself with my own bullet . Like a pro! And my favorite level was 7.
As to your hotseat multiplayer question - personally, I neither care for multiplayer games nor do I play them, so I would not play such a mode. But I see that this could work and be fun for those who enjoy such things.

As always, a very polished and fun little game! Loved the enemy design as well! For your records, here’s the archived stream  https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Rkg-HvNRZgU
