LD45 — Start with nothing

Tribal Offerings by Vladadamm 2019-10-08T11:02:07Z

Nice game! Liked the music and the animations a lot.

...Not Even a Body!? by snesgaard 2019-10-07T17:57:19Z

Very nice! Very simple but still interesting puzzle kind of game.

The Lucky Nugget by Julien Kuhn 2019-10-07T18:12:55Z

Very nice game and very nice music :D Yeah I also had the problem when saving to 1.5K and also I din't know what to hire the guys for but it became clear pretty fast so that's okey. Really liked the game acually good job :)

Drifter Mall by Sergio1811 2019-10-08T11:10:21Z

I was constantly avoiding the police and football players but when I accidentally run into them they just died. Didn't expect that to happen. Very nice graphics though.

NOTHING : A sentient ascendency by Rooster And Frétillant 2019-10-10T18:25:35Z

very nice game, cool twist at the end :)

Nitchs the tank by AlphaDen 2019-10-10T18:10:30Z

very fun game! Difficult but instant reloading made it not so bad to keep trying.

Global Warming Is Coming by Odeyalko 2019-10-08T15:25:22Z

Really liked your game. The theme of global warming gonna get ya is really a nice touch. Didn't understand the raft building though but maybe that's me :D good job.

Mr.Grind by iozsaygi 2019-10-08T15:36:10Z

Very fun game. Question did you record the "get gold" sound in the supermarked? Because it really sounds exactly like the scanner when it scans your groceries. Made it even more fun though :D

The Desert of Nothingness by Douwe_Ravers 2019-10-08T01:16:21Z

Thank you all for your comments and feedback. I have updated the "how to play?" page and increased the starting capital a little. Hopefully now it's more fun and less of a headache to start.

The Desert of Nothingness by Douwe_Ravers 2019-10-12T13:59:39Z

Thank you all for the feedback espesially you @jahwffrey I didn't know that. That is something to remember for the future.

Creation - a weird story of how nothing can become something by dqmhose 2019-10-07T18:22:02Z

very funny game. I liked it a lot.

Pop, Bubble, Count! by Phil C 2019-10-11T15:10:37Z

haha very funny, liked the music and the funky theme :)

LD46 — Keep it alive

What An Alien Addiction! by jaywoody 2020-04-27T11:42:40Z

Very nice game! Very cool start screen. Maybe when introducing a new element the first thing that drops should be the new thing. When the quantum food was introduced it only occurred once at the end of the round, that was a little confusing. But overall very cool game!

Squirrel Saver by Likirus 2020-04-27T20:37:13Z

nice game and nice music. One little note, when restarting a level (button "o") the health doesn't reset. I don't think that should be the case right?

Tyson Lee: KEEP IT ALIVE EDITION by CPTN-B 2020-05-03T14:53:36Z

Very nice!

Thrive by bassguitarbill 2020-04-20T21:44:21Z

Haha I liked the soundeffects. They are very fitting for the pixel art theme. Fun game!

The Village Alchemist by Falzock 2020-05-03T14:32:35Z

Overall nice game. Took some time to figure out how it all worked but very nice. Maybe it would be nice if you start with some kind of tutorial were they point you to were to take some water then were the mushrooms are and so on... Just to make the start easier.

Windy The Indie by Douwe_Ravers 2020-04-19T23:05:43Z

Thanks, appreciate the feedback.

Windy The Indie by Douwe_Ravers 2020-04-20T21:35:49Z

thanks. Haha yeah, the first time I played it to the end I scared too.

Windy The Indie by Douwe_Ravers 2020-04-21T15:08:17Z

@njm-games hahah thanks for saying that! I will change it right away.

Keeper of the Flame by Elbapotsnugg 2020-04-20T21:55:55Z

Nice game, but I didn't see any enemies?

He Needs Healing by WanS24 2020-04-27T11:59:46Z

Wauw that is intense. Never got above 1000, but then again I don't have quick reflexes. Maybe a hard, medium, easy game mode would be nice.

Keep the Unicorn Alive! by ShanePatSmith 2020-04-27T12:06:45Z

Haha smart way to make walking animation and funny too :) Maybe some upgrades would have been nice, so you become quicker or something.

LD47 — Stuck in a loop

What Goes In Must Come Out by SimplePotential 2020-10-06T20:00:12Z

It's a nice and unique little game. In my opinion the game was a little to long although it gave me a sense of being very good at it :D

Orbital Blast by pvg 2020-10-06T15:33:48Z

Very hard but that makes it fun :D Had some problems when I pressed main menu, the music of the main menu started again but the game over screen stayed... Cool game tho :) Really cool music!

Orbital Blast by pvg 2020-10-06T18:54:41Z

@pvg I also used Godot and had problems with multi-threading in html5, so you probably right about that ;)

Hamster Tank by elemel 2020-10-06T14:53:55Z

Hahaha very funny, to bad no-one was online, maybe just add one (or more) random bots to drive around if few people are online. Would have liked to shoot someone hehe.

Hamster Tank by elemel 2020-10-06T18:59:49Z

@elemel Ahh my bad :D Then I will try and convince my roommates to join ;)

Oiram Trak by jkniest 2020-10-14T12:01:05Z

I get the difficulty of making a race game. I created one myself this jam too. Very nice, the car was very slippy but that was kind of fun. I really liked the parkour it was nice with the salivation and such. The mario kind of power ups are also very fun and did work well!

Keys and Goblins by FinalForeach 2020-10-06T14:38:30Z

Cool game, really liked the lighting. Smart to use java as it runs on all systems, something I might do next time too.

Circleline by caeonosphere 2020-10-06T15:44:07Z

Very calmly game... I like it. Good way to cool off after playing some other intensive arcade like games. Very Polished and the piano sound fit perfectly!

Monkeys on Fire by Argon 2020-10-06T20:07:16Z

Oef, very difficult but very fun. Cool sounds and nice atmosphere.

Loopedy Island by Douwe_Ravers 2020-10-06T18:56:22Z

@finalforeach Yeah yeah, that's totally it :D Hahaha

Loopedy Island by Douwe_Ravers 2020-10-07T00:28:00Z

@scsc Well I chose Godot mainly because I know that engine the best but also because the GDscript (programming language of Godot) is actually very easy and thus fast in development compared to C# or C++. Although there is a loss in efficiency for a jam that doesn't really matter that much.

As for the bugs I think the problem lies with the Island itself. It is a very big mesh, for the entirety of the terrain there are 100 000 vertices and over 200 000 triangles, now I would have made a simpler low poly terrain that has far less detail... So overall keep the assets small in memory size I would guess... Ohh and instead of multithread loading use the build-in ResourceLoader it works with Html export as well :)

@simplepotential haha never looked at that, explains a lot :D

@cliffracerx thanks for the feedback. I agree! There was so much I wanted to do but bugs kept me from doing them... This was a good lesson about the additional complexity of 3D physics based games. Although I must say, I never learned more during a jam as this one.

Loopedy Island by Douwe_Ravers 2020-10-09T10:16:12Z

@tomate-salat yeah you are totally right, I spend the entire first day just balancing the car... And it didn't even work 😅 The flying cars I'm aware of but didn't had the time to fix it...

@pvg yeah 😅 I have experimented with procedural planetary generation and terrain generation but this is the first time making an actual game with controls and such haha

Loopedy Island by Douwe_Ravers 2020-10-19T08:55:17Z

@zachz Thanks a lot :) I must say it is not my first jam though, it's actually my third but it was the first time creating a 3D game. My actual first jam was way worse then this was haha

Looponaut by exopunk 2020-10-07T13:52:04Z

very nice game, I liked the art and warping effect a lot. The only thing that was annoying was that I could not exit the game in full screen mode :/ (I used the linux build)

Loop Control by Tomate_Salat 2020-10-08T10:30:42Z

Very nice, because it is so hard maybe you could add 3 hearts/lives before restarting :) I managed to win, cool animation :)

LD48 — Deeper and deeper

Rover goes deeper by pfeyffer 2021-04-26T18:17:53Z

Very nice. For me personally the level can even be more difficult. Well done.

GriDelve by fixxel 2021-04-26T08:30:04Z

Very nice visual effects going there. It was a little hard to see when all the way in the back. Maybe tilting the camera a little bit up or putting it in orthogonal would have helped.

Seven Sleepy Nights by Osterzone 2021-04-28T22:18:15Z

It was pretty relaxing until the alarm went off and it scared the hell out of me :D Very original take on the theme indeed :)

INTO THE FRAME by Gaming Night 2021-04-27T08:36:22Z

Very fun puzzle. It's not easy to make a game that is not too easy but not too hard as well. I like the kind of techno theme as wel. I had experienced two little bugs though. At one point the collider of my blue bubble just stopped working so I couldn't push 1 dimention projectiles. Also when I switched from second to first dimention sometimes I could prevent my dead while being hit by the projectiles. But because you offer all the levels even when restarting that was not demotivating in any way :)

The Circles of Purrgatory by sevkron 2021-04-26T20:46:55Z

I like the theme you set. It's very clever.

F-33L5 by Plastacier 2021-04-26T18:25:41Z

I like how smooth the movement of the thingy is. Esspecially when touching the top and slowly bouncing back. I could cheat a little though. I kept my down arrow pressed and almost never hit anything. But enjoyed the music.

Get Rich or Dive Trying by Human Writes Code 2021-04-27T09:07:21Z

Very good looking and polished game. The themesong is very fitting as well. My only recommendations: - The controls could be relative to the boat instead of the world. - Some more sound effects for diving or docking would make it even better :)

Madman - The Crazy Scientist by mudlee 2021-04-26T12:50:14Z

So funny :D The police sound effect alone  Very difficult but very nice to play.

DRILLER by glitchman 2021-04-26T12:34:30Z

Nice game. It has some great mystery story potential. Love the start screen, it's very neat.

RRRR U Scared ? by Chalivat Quentin 2021-04-26T08:20:01Z

Super nice! In my opinion the random tentacles where a little to powerful maybe some way of predicting were they will pop up would be nice. Like a little pool of bubbling water or something. I like how polished and good looking this is.

Lucky Adventurer by Huntrox 2021-04-28T22:29:39Z

This is very polished indeed. I like the cutscenes as well.

Worlds Inside by Tobias Froihofer 2021-04-26T12:59:34Z

But but I wanted more text.. haha

Very interesting, I'm curious how did you create the infinite tunnels? Or does the magician never tell?

For King, for Freedom and for Law! by Douwe_Ravers 2021-04-26T09:03:43Z

@incal Thanks :)

@mdotedot Thanks, yeah I kind of went too deep during the brainstorming. (pun intended) My train of thought: Deeper and deeper -> deep in enemy lines -> the patriot (the movie) -> Belgian version of the patriot :D True I will broaden it a then I think. It's allowed right?

@ty Thanks for the feedback didn't occur to me. Good to know.

For King, for Freedom and for Law! by Douwe_Ravers 2021-04-26T10:50:50Z

@rouge-dragon yes It was actually a gamble. When I started I didn't think I was going to finish in time :D @sharkmax218 Haha imagine, yes I agree they should :)

For King, for Freedom and for Law! by Douwe_Ravers 2021-04-26T19:24:32Z

@hilkojj haha you can try finishing the game without shooting any dutch soldier :) Haven't tested it but should be totally possible.

@towergame thanks for the feedback. Yeah it is true I will look in to it. :)

For King, for Freedom and for Law! by Douwe_Ravers 2021-04-26T20:35:44Z

@sevkron good to hear you had fun :) Thanks for the tip, I will check it out.

For King, for Freedom and for Law! by Douwe_Ravers 2021-05-16T09:57:05Z

@talops Yeah that is good advice. I also realized this afterwards... Next time more focus on gameplay less on quantity. Yeah I really should learn how to make some simple songs :)

DeepTech Industries by Acdia 2021-04-26T07:50:40Z

That was fun, especially destroying the walls. Very hard though. I like the name. It would have been cool if you made it 3th person. So we can see the rocked (like in the intro) and maybe a smoke trail behind it. Eider way, pretty nice game.

Subwoofer-Bot by Lucio Ruixo 2021-04-27T08:13:20Z

Yeah that was hard. I didn't get further then level 3 so maybe I missed it but some obstacles to jump on or something would be nice.

Project Achelois by DzejPi 2021-04-26T08:46:35Z

I have been sailing for 10 minutes and still haven't seen any creatures. Is that normal? I already passed two objective places but could find the third (I looked like it was under the bottom of the sea.)

Find The Page! by Rouge_dragon 2021-04-26T17:55:11Z

Wow very wel linked to the theme. I like that you predefine the words so you know the search is interesting. I played a similar game before but they just choose random words.

Pigs War by sharkmax218 2021-04-26T18:02:31Z

The starting animation is so funny :D I actually restarted the game just to watch it again :D

Aquarius by XOREAXEAX 2021-04-26T22:22:56Z

Wow that was very very beautifull! It was very relaxing.

Octopus Dive by JedeMac 2021-04-26T12:16:49Z

Wow this was really relaxing. Very nice game. I really liked the octopus facts :)

LD49 — Unstable

Colon: Colon by Remco 2021-10-05T19:06:30Z

Really liked the idea! This feels like one of those addicting android games :D

Un-Stabled by popertots 2021-10-05T19:12:59Z

The game was fun to play. Really looked forward to the upgrades actually :D And the music was amazing :D

Undeliverable by CodeChomper 2021-10-11T22:14:36Z

Hey, your game has some similarities with mine. Although I wouldn't dare using UE5 for a game jam. Nice you did! Looks very beautiful though and not just because of the engine. I like the art too.

Unstable Marbles by Marc Grabow 2021-10-05T19:34:58Z

This was very fun to play. Just the reactions of the little people made it worth retrying level 3 like 10 times :D

Cross Over by Ryan Lambe 2021-10-19T21:23:05Z

I like the fact you have to design the level in 2D and then it toggles to 3D. The music was a little boring but still nice you had some. A nice simple extra touch would be if the robot made some noise when driving. Overall well done.

Weasel Words by eldogg 2021-10-07T19:27:10Z

This was so weird but fun. I liked the art style haven't seen that a lot. The typing was very satisfying. Good that you enabled arrow keys to walk as azerty users would have had a rough time typing or walking :D

Bad Buckets by PurpledArtFrog 2021-10-05T19:45:57Z

Fun little game like the frog like noises. I think at some point there were no buckets left and I was just walking around. Not sure what to do then? Did I have to clean up the paint?

Tanks 'n robots by Douwe_Ravers 2021-10-04T02:59:21Z

@kora0h You are right! I chose a better offset for the camera and it's much easier now.

Tanks 'n robots by Douwe_Ravers 2021-10-04T14:18:19Z

@marc-grabow yes ofcourse :) Wouldn't be a Compo game otherwise. I recorded the whole process. Once the edit is done I will upload a timelapse :)

Tanks 'n robots by Douwe_Ravers 2021-10-05T12:18:06Z

Thanks

Tanks 'n robots by Douwe_Ravers 2021-10-05T19:49:12Z

@popertots Dahmm that is pretty serious indeed. Couldn't test it on a linux unfortunately I hope it's an isolated event then. Thanks anyway ;)

Tanks 'n robots by Douwe_Ravers 2021-10-06T01:38:43Z

@thatmanrobin @rdcooper Yeah sound isn't my strong suit :D I was lucky that at least my old coffee machine made such a good tank motor sound :D

@zazz0000 thanks for the tip, wasn't aware of that. @fabdynamic Great compliment thanks. Good idea, give it more a star wars clone trooper vibe :D Whoops, I wasn't aware of this, I will fix it right away :)

Tanks 'n robots by Douwe_Ravers 2021-10-07T19:48:47Z

@njitnelav haha thanks mate! @jlv Glad you liked it. I actually did that a little on purpose as there was no real time to test and I preferred everybody can easily finish my game then all get stuck in the beginning. Maybe a difficulty system would have been nice. I will keep that in mind ;)

Tanks 'n robots by Douwe_Ravers 2021-10-09T13:26:55Z

thanks @eldogg A little film story always helps with the emersion. And they are fun to make :D

Tanks 'n robots by Douwe_Ravers 2021-10-10T18:26:27Z

@remco You are right I will add the changes I made afterwards to the page. Thanks for the feedback.

Tanks 'n robots by Douwe_Ravers 2021-10-10T21:27:03Z

@dogez thanks!

Tanks 'n robots by Douwe_Ravers 2021-10-11T12:38:44Z

@castoor thanks for the feedback. Once I've got some time again I will implement a easy/medium/hard mode. And once the game voting is over record some better sounds for the robots. I don't like them as well :/

Place Called Home by Kora0h 2021-10-05T19:25:24Z

Nice looking graphics. Loved the fact you can pan around the world. Didn't really know what I was doing but getting to higher levels always motivates me so there is that :D

Unstable Isotopes by Recher 2021-10-07T19:59:01Z

I like games made with special engines. Good spin on the theme!

U.R.A.N.I.U.M. by monninen 2021-10-07T19:45:02Z

Whoa this game gets intense. Very nice. The toggling between paddle and bucked was kind of annoying when close to each other maybe assigning a different key or something made it easier to toggle between them. Although you could argue it's part of the challenge ofcourse.

Ethereal Runner by jabsatz 2021-10-09T13:48:19Z

Fun to play. the attacks were very satisfying. For me putting the attack on z feld a little weird. But I'm an Azerty user so z and x don't neighbour for me. :) Like the dark "theme" and the nice tutorial

Crewman 49 by ThatmanRobin 2021-10-10T21:25:59Z

Very nice game. As said before the camera shake was a little to much (I actually got a little dizzy :/ ) but apart from that very very nice! I love games with a little story especially if it's guided by a voice.

The hacking puzzle was hard but doable which is perfectly balanced. I also like the amount of props you made just to make the spaceship give some realism. The music was also nice and fitted the theme. Overall bravo :)

What is Watt? by XOREAXEAX 2021-10-09T14:01:15Z

Very nice game. Love that all the objects have little faces. The smoke effects made it extra pop two. And the game is actually a little educational. Very nice. Although repetitive the song never bored me.

Hopper Unstable by Castoor 2021-10-10T18:53:23Z

Love the graphics. The levels were easy to finish but I got the vibe.

A suggestion maybe is to only let the portal appear once the skeletons are defeated. Also make some blocks stable in the field then let the unstable blocks reappear after x amount of time. Gives some strategy to it. Just a idea eh ;)

Great job! I love when people do 3D for compo games. Modelling is such time-consuming when you just have 48 hours.

RoughTrain by Dogez 2021-10-10T19:24:00Z

A Ludum Dare game of 3.2GB that's a record for me :) Totally worth it though very nice looking game. I really like a story based game, how short the story may be. Also the voice acting made it so much better.

Reactor Symphony by Strynion 2021-10-19T21:13:24Z

Very beautiful looking game! Very polished. As someone who transitions between qwerty and azerty from time to time this was very hard as I had to really think about the z, w, a and q :id: Maybe in the beginning a indication that you have to type the letters would be nice as I had to figure that out for the first 10 seconds or so. (Or I just missed it)

Granny's Porcelain Tower by Njitnelav 2021-10-06T14:41:25Z

Very nicely executed. Sick, to see what you have achieved knowing you are new to OOP and Unity!

Are you like an actual Chinese Monk? The music was too real :love_letter:

LD51 — Every 10 seconds

Chicken farm by Hadik 2022-10-05T09:32:45Z

Nice looking game! I liked how polished it was. To bad there was no sound, would really brought the experience together. But I personally don't like the audio dev part of game dev as well, so I understand .

Loved how you even can click on every chicken just to check up on them.

10 Seconds or Less by kleinzach 2022-10-17T12:00:35Z

Loved the graphics. This motivates me to also learn to make pixel art. Curious how time consuming it is. I think the steering could have been responsive for me it felt to slow. Love the interpretation of the theme very well done.

Gelato Drift by thomz12 2022-10-12T15:41:42Z

That was fun. Nice game and nice soundtrack, did recognize it from somewhere. Maybe a little circle around the person once close would have been nice to know how close to drive when approaching them.

Rain Systems by thebmxeur 2022-10-04T15:46:43Z

Didn't make it. Still it was fun just to figure out how the system works. Very unique game! I like the fact you just went for something very abstract and difficult. Knowing a lot of people would just give up (myself included but I did spend half an hour trying and now I have to go.)

If you like programming games, I would recommend [this submission](https://ldjam.com/events/ludum-dare/51/the-stack-machine) and mine as well hehe.

Motor Dime by Ale 2022-10-07T20:20:58Z

Nice game. That is a lot of graphics for a compo! Good job!

Cool concept with the full stop was a little frustrating maybe just shutting down the motor and having to restart it would be more fun. (I don't know has to be tested) But then you see less of the ragdolling which is so nice

Radioactive Rocket Fuel by JonathanG 2022-10-07T20:06:25Z

Very nice game!

I liked how every feature in the game has an important role. You can't reach the end without an upgrade and you can't upgrade without trade and you can't trade without using the isotope collection. Very nice.

I don't know if it is my very wide monitor but for me the front row of stars disappeared from time to time. Noting game breaking just a note.

HAZCAT - Toxic Feline by johnnysix 2022-10-03T11:17:53Z

The animations are very nice. Also the acid dissolvement is a cool visual. It feels very polished. Except for being able to keep moving when falling in the acid. But it has nothing to do with the gameplay. So that is just being difficult on my end . Well done.

Game did not work in LD though. But it did through your link. Only I had to copy it because it was no hyperlink. (maybe add https in front of it or something..)

Night of the Spook by dxk2294 2022-10-05T09:47:15Z

Loved the graphics and the sound. It felt really polished as well. And just like everyone else the beam could be stronger.

Z.O.M.B.I.E.S by Nyrh 2022-10-03T11:26:24Z

Very cool game. I wish I could type faster  It feels very polished. I like the minimalist art style.

I don't know if it was intentional but there are two zip files. A 1.0 and a 1.1, I guessed 1.1 is newer.

Six Shots Per Minuteman by MikeSalyh 2022-10-05T18:05:23Z

I really like the game. Especially the comments of the british soldiers.

It is very polished. I honestly have nothing to comment. It was just a good experience.

We Stole Aliens by grizeldi 2022-10-07T20:36:53Z

Very fun context and very original take on the theme. Loved the starting cutscene

The car steering felt really good. A couple of LDs ago I also used a car in Godot and I didn't manage to get it feel nice to drive. But you did. Very nice.

The only thing that felt off was to know when you will get caught. I had no idea when the police was close or not. Or even where they were. Maybe a little indicator that points to were the police is an how much meters they are away would have solved that issue. (Just an idea though).

Gladiatorius by Juutis 2022-10-13T09:51:17Z

Cool concept. Liked the animations and mechanics.

10S-Assembler by ShaggyFox 2022-10-11T09:01:53Z

Nice game. Loved the music! Love electronics themed games.

Cobor goes farming by Douwe_Ravers 2022-10-02T23:15:02Z

After deadline adjustments: - Fixed the movement issue. - Altered some text with additional info.

Cobor goes farming by Douwe_Ravers 2022-10-03T08:21:05Z

@johnnysix thank you!

I kind of took a risk making such a specific type of game. Glad you like the graphics. If you really want you can use the solutions file to just copy paste (on windows) or retype (on web) through the levels. Although, that is not really fun I guess

Cobor goes farming by Douwe_Ravers 2022-10-03T12:07:21Z

@indigo haha missed opportunity of me

Ahh I never mention that specifically. Trees, bushes, cows, wheat and water are also obstacles. In your case it was a bush. They don't have an icon in the overview mode yet (Lack of time). I will mention this also in the manual .

Thanks for noticing.

Cobor goes farming by Douwe_Ravers 2022-10-03T12:11:12Z

@henrik-ganard yeah, it was a big risk when I committed myself to the design.

Haha yeah, I though some people would like that.

Cobor goes farming by Douwe_Ravers 2022-10-03T13:34:32Z

No no I actually didn't know that was a language. First I wanted to call it robocode but that is already a game... So I reversed it an removed the Edo for a better sound.

Cobor goes farming by Douwe_Ravers 2022-10-03T18:05:12Z

@njitnelav Thanks! I will look into the bridge response. Congratulations on finishing! Next year I code a game using this game, hehe.

Cobor goes farming by Douwe_Ravers 2022-10-05T09:10:59Z

@busisen yeah, reflecting back I actually almost worked a full work week (=38hours in Belgium) in one weekend. Stood up at 5am Saturday and went to bed at 1am Sunday to then wake up at 7am to work to the deadline at midnight.

@seshoumara No problem . Yeah, I kept it fairly simple on purpose. My goal was to introduce people to a assembly like programming environment. If I had more time I would have introduced more and more complex levels. Like a part that takes in the keyboard inputs so you could design your own controller program.

@thebmxeur Yeah my experience comes from PIC programming. So I actually am also used to retrieving a the result from a separate register. I though it was simpler to understand for people with no background. I fixed the bridge issue. Thanks for noticing. Good to know of the UI. Something I will take with me for the next LD compo

Cobor goes farming by Douwe_Ravers 2022-10-15T14:25:44Z

@lustdante you are welcome and thanks.

@nobongo Lego robotics competitions sounds very fun indeed. Nice that you liked it.

@ale yes, It was a very difficult balance between writing only what is necessary and at the same time making the manual complete as well. As for the UI I actually did this on purpose with the idea to also support mobile web but that ended up being harder then originally though (keyboard not appearing and such). Thanks for the feedback! If I had more time defiantly more levels which explain the topics would have been implemented.

@kamoe9 Thanks , but please believe it. It is true

@bentglasstube You are right, I actually have no idea why I did not implement that. It was already build in anyway.

@schuster thanks

@ukulelefury Yeah, the disadvantage of a programming game with limited time to design levels  Yeah maybe more incremental challenges should have made the game more approachable. Thanks for the feedback. Glad you liked it.

Satellite commander by Henrik Ganard 2022-10-03T11:38:36Z

Cool concept. As some people noted before the controls felt a little weird. Maybe if they were in world coordinates instead of local coordinates a more predictable steering could be achieved.

Besides that, nice game. I liked the UI and using "GB send" as score is also very creative.

Call me. Maybe? by Martinek 2022-10-07T20:46:22Z

Looks good felt smooth, and the music was relaxing.

I think by giving a little more feedback when successfully connect a line it would feel much more rewarding. But still fun to play

Pablo's piñata party by Njitnelav 2022-10-03T10:34:43Z

The music sets the mood very nicely!

Also painted art is very nice!

The difficulty is just right not to easy not impossible.

Great game!

📺 You Call The Shots! by Choo 2022-10-17T14:51:48Z

Love it. Good concept!

A "Ding" In The Dark by yoko-san 2022-10-20T11:58:32Z

Crazy how you built an entire 3D environment just to end up playing a 2D email game. Cool concept!

SIEGE: The surprisingly punctual invasion game by AnxiousGameDev 2022-10-04T11:27:31Z

Very nice game!

I like the art style and especially the small people attacking. The music is simple but sets the right mood. The gameplay was fun and the menu at the bottom was nice. The only comment is that sometimes I could not merge two trees instantly.

Cartesian Planes by Nicholas Maddalena 2022-10-03T11:50:16Z

Great concept. It also is very intuitive. The longer you play the more you notice and learn by just looking at it. Also smart to use an area of influence instead of a single tile to activate the arrows. Makes is more fun to quickly drag.

OVERLOADED! by busisen 2022-10-08T10:55:10Z

I really like the graphics and the smoothness of the game. Nice concept! The soundtrack was very LudumDary which is a plus in my opinion.

What's Under The Teapot? by thegamearchitect 2022-10-08T10:48:21Z

Nice game. I do think the new item has a slightly different bottom color as the others which gives it away. If the locations of the previous items gets randomized every turn the game would have been way more challenging. Good job on all those graphics though.

The Stack Machine by seshoumara 2022-10-04T12:31:50Z

Very very fun game! Is this how punch cards worked back in the day? Nice! This is really my type of games. The challenges were perfectly set. From simple to difficult.

One tip maybe. Instead of just specifying the input in the text. Maybe a punch card with the input values can already be loaded in the machine. Although that means for some levels part of the challenge is already done.

I actually made a similar game as well. Only with assembly code instead of punch cards.

The Stack Machine by seshoumara 2022-10-04T13:36:07Z

@seshoumara Ow yeah, that is right

As requested here is my game: [Cobor goes farming](https://ldjam.com/events/ludum-dare/51/cobor-goes-farming)

Doodle Spaceship by Lynn Wang 2022-10-04T11:41:17Z

I love smoothness of the movement. Especially the fact that the ship oscillates around the cursor.

It is a missed opportunity to implement upgradable features but then give enough money to buy all of them except the alien. Probably still the currency from debugging

Also I found a small bug, where if you die you can get out of the end screen and keep on playing with zero lives.

LD53 — Delivery

No Man's Cubzh - Deliver package between planets, reach the top 5 astronauts by Hiinds 2023-05-02T20:27:09Z

Always appreciate scoreboards, cool you put it in there. Cool concept of a game. Interplanetary travel.

Fast Parcel Service by clemall 2023-05-09T19:13:03Z

This was fun to play! Sometimes a little frustrating how the boxes wouldn't budge when i needed them fast but that is part of the experience.

Spaghetti Rails by milano23 2023-05-02T20:54:45Z

Cool game. I got all trains to the right locations but nothing happened, not sure why.. The track laying felt very fun. Only if you move the mouse to fast it stops the drag, that is a little annoying.

Good job!

Space Docker by Wahooney 2023-05-01T09:40:53Z

Nice job, very polished! The audio is was very quiet. Maybe you can increase this in the settings or something. The game felt very smooth, I like that.

Hexy by rasblo 2023-05-02T20:39:46Z

That random guy with the delivery really got me laughing. I love these kind of weird random events. The music was really nice! Did you play the song on a real instrument? Concept was also fun. Even it was just against the CPU.

Deliver by Zirrrus 2023-05-09T18:56:21Z

I didn't like the fact you had to constantly click to get to the different views. That being said the game felt very polished. The graphics were very consistent.

Hover Bites by Togis 2023-05-02T12:57:31Z

I really liked the game. Logistics games are my favorite type of games, so very nice to see this in LD as well. Did not expect it here. I liked the UI I recognise the Godot styling but it just makes it better hehe. Especially that you used drag-able windows that was a nice feature which I would have overlooked.

I could not find the recipes in game but used your screenshots. Not sure how to access them.

Derry by Rakowu 2023-05-02T13:13:20Z

I like the artstyle a lot. Are they 3D scans put together or did you model them? It felt very smooth, the level was hard but if it was easy it would just be boring so.. nice job!

PACKGO: Ultimate Road Train by Arqcenick 2023-05-02T20:00:56Z

Liked the game! Simple yet fun. Felt very polished.

Sometimes it took to long for the boxes of the right colour to spawn.

Goods With the Wind by Juutis 2023-05-03T18:55:07Z

Love the big map. Don't see that often in LD games. The little tribes were also nice.

A nice thing would have been if the plane had some gliding mechanics. But this was very nice as well. Loved the calm song.

Under The Moon Delivery by Attala 2023-05-02T20:18:19Z

Those graphics are super nice! Very well done! It was a little to hard for me so I never managed to get a package home but the game felt very nice. Only when going high speed the ship was moving in small increments instead of fluent motion. I played web so could be that though...

Seedling by TwoWolf 2023-05-02T12:25:18Z

The audio is very relaxing. I like the fact that you went of a planetary setting instead of a flat infinite plane. It makes it more interesting.

CropCopter by Douwe_Ravers 2023-05-01T10:08:03Z

@zirrrus the link is fixed.

@pauvictor thanks a lot that worked! Yes I made the powerpoint to give some info haha.

@emily-ttg you can press T to get a stable flight (but slower). Thanks that is true should have made some animations for that. Thanks!

CropCopter by Douwe_Ravers 2023-05-01T10:51:26Z

@inesjebesje thanks, yeah you can see it as part of the challenges.

@ciderpunk ahh dahmm I know what happened there. It's like one line of code what would fix that. I will do it this evening.

CropCopter by Douwe_Ravers 2023-05-07T11:55:19Z

@twowolf Thanks, very glad that you thought it to be inspiring. Congratulations on finishing the entire game  A tip for easy low poly art is to use the dyntopo with constant detail option with blender sculpting. It will deform your shapes and add additional triangles of similar size. Pretty neat stuff

Space simulation by saadisaadi1 2023-05-07T12:20:55Z

Last year, I did a similar project for my thesis as well. Maybe you will be interested. I called it the [The planet engine](https://github.com/DouweRavers/ThesisProject-ThePlanetEngine/). It was a planet generation tool for Unity. I focussed on optimizing as much as possible using shaders.

Crazy Baby Delivery by pauvictor 2023-05-09T19:01:43Z

Creative view on the theme. Good game difficulty. It's both hard yet manageable, difficult to achieve that.

Vanslaughter Inc: Extreme Parcel Service by Alec Cunningham 2023-05-07T12:06:32Z

Nice game. Never played a blender game before. Good controls and good design. Only the goal of the game was a little unclear to me. But once I got that I enjoyed the bloody mess.

Travelling salesman by Kr0meel 2023-05-09T19:07:34Z

Ambitious project. I like the concept very much. It feels hard to play right now but still a good entry in my opinion.

Ensomniac by WigHz 2023-05-01T09:56:40Z

Ah a fellow godotter  Really liked your game, felt pretty polished. The music was great and the spawning of drones was perfect in the not-overwhelm / not-to-boring ratio!

The upgrades did't feel really as updates but that is the only feedback I can give. Very nice job!

Unicast Network Simulator by Richard Baltrusch 2023-05-02T20:09:27Z

Cool take on the theme. Network package delivery was not on my brainstorm list, dahm. The concept was very original, I have never seen this stype of puzzle before. Very cool.

Game was very easy to learn and then the puzzle was just fun to perform. The only note I have is that once you have your previous goal the new goal doesn't spawn directly. That was annoying as you were just waiting while the ticker was going down.

LD56 — Tiny Creatures

Space Invaders by Jiri Hysek 2024-10-09T19:00:16Z

Nice game. It feels really polished. Its a simple yet fun concept. The difficulty level was also pretty good which can be hard with these kind of games. Very nice!

Ohh and the graphics are very nice. Looks very nice style.

Maginot by vfqd 2024-10-07T21:20:52Z

Very nice game! Impressive that you have so many working entities in 48h. Also the game feels really balanced which is more difficult as that number grows i suppose. Funny how shooting at the sea has no real value yet I'm ready to invest many of my resources towards it.

Dino Island Safari by Skleembof 2024-10-09T19:11:23Z

This was so nice! The voice over really made it so much better.

RomAnts by Douwe_Ravers 2024-10-09T06:07:49Z

@fernando-tonon-de-rossi thanks, after all the feedback I get here I'm considering it.

@thesand Thanks, yeah the game back then was a little to hard tweaked those numbers after that.

@grut607 Ow no, that should not be happening. Will look into it.

@budster16 Thank you very much! Wow haven't been able to do that myself. So cool that some people are better at your game as yourself :D Yeah, after this feedback I might work on the game further.

@glassar Thanks!

@nazariglez Initially not, but as more people are asking it I'm considering it. Some audio and a nice environment would enhance the game by a lot I think.

@tetrergeru Thanks! Oh no, did the camera teleport off map? I can't remember if I actually set boundaries in the XZ-axis for the camera :o

RomAnts by Douwe_Ravers 2024-10-09T06:43:11Z

@tetrergeru ahh that is also possible. Dahmmm, no idea how to tackle that :/

tiny villages by OldDog 2024-10-09T06:41:44Z

Very fun game, I love clicker elements combined with the day night cycle. It breaks the simple click and upgrade loop into something more complex. Very nice.

I one bug though, at some point one of the monsters didn't die at night. It's lives were drained but it kept exsisting and destroyed my buildings through the day while my soldier and archer just watched.

Schermafbeelding 2024-10-09 083824.png

Fur & Fury by Caerind 2024-10-14T16:10:28Z

I made a similar game but with ants. Really cool combo of recruiting goblins and controlling a character as well. As said before the attacks feel not really great. There lacks some kind of feedback of hitting the plushies. Maybe particles of white wool would give it the feeling you are plowing through them. Love the funny noices too.

La Révolution Francheese: Bonamouse by MrBananaz 2024-10-08T07:13:22Z

Very nice game. Its a little hard to control but that is the challenge I guess. Really like the art and audio on this game. The dying by traps was not entirely clear to me what happened in the beginning. Good job!

Creature Stealer by Lussard Studio 2024-10-14T15:51:01Z

Really liked the style and the overall vibe. Was a little confused on what to do from time to time.
