Love the art so much
Who you gonna call? Spookbuster! I glitched through a wall and survided forever. :-D
Great graphics and great gameplay loop although a little hard
Cool game, the difficulty was nicely balanced at start and it's fun to play.
I like the spooky halloween color scheme and the voxel design. The gameplay was a bit difficult because the Spookbuster did not seem to do much damage.
Cool game, 31k xp here, maxing the turrets.
The voxel stuff is really cool it reminds me of a old game called Cube World. Nice Game :)
Interesting idea, cool graphics, but the monsters are too strong. The character upgrade is powerful. But on my PC - 25 FPS.
Simple premise and well executed! The roguelite element is actually quite addicting already. The art style works great. The sfx timing and pitch syncing with the music is a cherry on top. Fun game!
Really cool game, easy but funny, good art, good control, funny steps sounds...
Good job!
Wow! I don't understand how this doesn't have more reviews! One of the best jam games ever. Probably tied for my favorite I've seen in this jam. The visuals are absolutely Steam store quality and beyond. Totally nailed some of the Vampire survivors kite feeling. I like the way the theme was integrated.
Those status and health bars at the top were FANTASTIC. So thematic and pleasant to look at.
I loved the theme and setting. Anything that pulls off Halloween this well will get praise from me.
My only feedback is that it didn't seem that I was actually killing anything. Not sure I saw something die. But I was having so much fun looking at the level I honestly didn't care.
The controls and animations were all tight and completely well done. Everything worked with the style of the models to perfection.
Polish this up, add some content, and take my money on Steam please! 🎃
The vibe of the game is so fun, I was instantly endeared by the "Night of the SpOOoOoOok" when you hover over the Start button. The mechanics were super clean, and although the horde was hard to thin out, the larger it grew the more hectic the challenge was, so still super fun. 10/10 would spook again
ghostbuster!like the spooky theme!(check out my game too!)
Very fun to play and looking so nice. Maybe the only issue I had is the lack of feedback when dealing damage and killing enemies, it kind of felt like my beam was not doing anything. But overall well polished and very enjoyable, plus you nailed the atmosphere.
The beam powerups definitely felt the strongest. Once I had fully upgraded my beam, I just selected random upgrades since I didn't get items often enough for them to be useful. I died once I figured out what the forcefield does, since it disappears with no warning and then you're surrounded by enemies.
This was fun though. The beam really made the pacing for the game. It's just so fun to switch between running for your life and unleashing the giant doom-laser upon a crowd of >100 enemies.
Everything looks good to me! kiting mobs and them charge with a Beam Laser feels juicy! Would love to see more effects on the ghost buster!
Great game all around! I had a blast upgrading the different tools and becoming a ghost busting god by the end of my run. I had a ton of fun on each attempt, and the difficulty overall really made the wins I got feel earned. Excellent work.
Love the voxel graphics. The idea of only damaging enemies every 10 seconds is rly cool too. Good job!
5 star super fun!!!!! It's so cool to balance the level up points, and a lots of strategies to be applied! Love it!
I like this game a lot!!!! is frustrating that the blast isn't stronger (or the monsters weaker) because I really wanted to kill them xD also had to guess the bonus items I gathered around, but that isn't a big of a deal. I LOVE the music I need this in my spotify playlist XD
Loved the graphics and the sound. It felt really polished as well. And just like everyone else the beam could be stronger.
This was very, very fun. The art, the audio, the gameplay, everything holds together very nicely. I wasn't sure what made my health regen, but I was thankful it did. Congratulations, and thank you for sharing this amazing project!
This is fun and very pretty looking.
It's an interesting twist that you only shoot every 10 seconds, but at the same time it felt like I had too little control. It would be interesting to try it out if the gun still took 10 seconds to reload/charge up, but you could hold the charge and control when it shoots.
Good job!
Fun, engaging, easy to understand and charming gameplay. Almost perfect beside some optimization issues. Good job team!
Congratulations to the team, very fun game, I think I'm suspicious for loving and making voxel art, really very nice game, I'm grateful to have the honor to play your game, if you can give feedback on my game I'll be very grateful, it helps me to evolve, a big hug to all.
The core gameplay loop here is really strong, the enemy management was really bringing out my Vampire Survivor instincts. Made it 47 shots on my second run! I think my biggest gripes are that it's not always immediately clear that you can walk through the fences and that killed me once or twice, and also the volume sliders don't affect the volume of the laser at all which was a bit annoying for me. All in all I enjoyed it though!
Using the beam weapon was *very* satisfying, I had a lot of fun blasting huge lines of enemies. I think the items were a bit lackluster, so I would have liked to see them get some love to be more useful. Also, greedily, I would have liked some crazier upgrades for the beam to make it more ridiculous just because it was soooo satisfying to use. The core concept is great and I honestly played this for a really long time, ended up actually winning! Awesome entry!
Thanks for the kind words and valuable feedback everyone! There's a lot of helpful, actionable feedback here that we'd love to incorporate in a post-jam update.
Hi there, enjoyed the game actually. I think the only problem is that you are getting lost in environment from time to time, but overall a good game for Halloween! :ghost:
Holy cow, the number of assets! The whole character and level voxel design was awesome. For a three person team, this game feels really complete!
This didn't run too well on my laptop, so I'll have to give it another go back at my desktop. I kept getting drop powerups, but nothing for my spookmaster past the first time. Between that and the frame lag I was getting, I wasn't too effective in weaning the hordes ...

But heck, I had a lot of fun! I'll let you know how my next playthrough goes :)
To echo what so many others have said, wow you managed to do a lot!! That's an amazing number of assets, great variability among the enemies, which each have their own characteristics. That's an awesome amount of content, and that's not even counting the huge and detailed map I was just running around! That's awesome!
There's so much to love here. Music/sound effects are on-point. Regular progression with randomized buffs. Tower defense style turrets. The feeling of fighting off an inevitable loss. I enjoyed lining up the hordes of enemies in time for the blaster to mow them all down and watch that XP pile in. Overall a really polished entry with just a *ton* of stuff to shoot and look at. Really great job!
My one problem was I was playing the web version, so take this with a grain of salt, but sometimes my cursor would move through the screen like it was pushing through molasses. It was a very weird sort of half-lag that made it hard to aim in time. In terms of actual gameplay, I might've liked a little bit more to do. 9/10 seconds my only action really is running away. Having more pickups or more frequent turret drops would give me some more goals to achieve during my surprisingly long 9 seconds of down-time.
Congratulations on a job well done!
The art on this was pretty epic! I really liked the art, character design, and environment design. Props there to you for getting so many fun assets made. I also liked the gameplay. I wish there was some sort of wave system or break in enemies so I could have a minute to figure out where I wanted to go instead of running backwards endlessly.
The upgrades to the beam makes it feel very satisfying when it goes off. As another commenter already pointed out, the other upgrades didn't feel as impactful as the beam upgrades. The animations make the game feel alive and the quality and amount of the 3D models is very impressive for a jam game. I had a blast playing your game, well done!
Very interesting, I played it several times. Very addictive.
I will always choose to enhance Spookbuster. But it still seems to have very limited power.
I want SuperBuster
amazing voxel art!I love it!(rate back?)
Enjoyed this game a lot! Just super fun to play overal. Great voice acting/whole sound design and nice controls!
Good job!
i enjoyed the game! it was really fun. Well done!
Very nice game and awesome level design! :D
I really enjoyed playing this game :)
Love the overall vibe and voxel art style works great! Beam didn't do a lot of damage at the start so didnt feel like I was taking out many enemies, but enjoyed the weapons upgrade path and pacing. Nice work :)
We had the same idea for a game and I really like how you approached it and what kind of game you actually created. I enjoyed it a lot, it was nice to have visualization and accompanying sound for the shot. I appreciate a lot the variability of enemies and upgrades. If I had to criticize something constructively, it seemed to me that the enemies are almost immortal and the rat enemy, even though I understand that you shouldn't be seen, it seemed a bit unfair, especially when I ran right into them. The game was lagging a bit, when I looked into the settings, they weren't showing up correctly. But those are the little things.
I think the game is in many ways better than the one we made :) and I enjoyed it... I was hoping that a train would come along the tracks and get rid of a lot of enemies :D
I love the little squeaks the player makes as it wobbles left and right during movement! Took me a hot minute to realize how the spookbuster operated (without trigger). I was impressed with the amount of detail
Spooky!
Fun game, and very impressive that it was finished within a jam. Graphics and sound were top notch, and it ran at a smooth framerate.
The enemies didn't feel distinct enough to me - I dealt with all of them the same way: run in a line until they're all lined up, then spookblast em.
Speaking of the spookblaster, it felt like any level-up that affected it was clearly the choice to take. The other upgrades didn't feel as impactful, partially because they all depended on deployable equipment you didn't always have.
I never made much use of the sticky grenades or force fields (whose behavior surprised me a bit - was expecting something that helped with my health.) I made some use of the turrets, which I fully upgraded after the spookblaster, but their use seemed anti-syntergistic with that of the spookblaster, which required you to move in a single direction for a while to line up enemies, whereas the towers required you to stay in a single area for a period of time (which was dangerous.)
Very nice work!
Very fun, I don't know how far I got, but I had quite the crowd of followers. haha
