LD45 — Start with nothing

Tiny Reactor by coffeecup.winner 2019-10-09T04:40:07Z

Love it! Would be great to see this as a full game!

LD46 — Keep it alive

Keep the Fire by PerpetuumMobile 2020-04-21T06:47:47Z

I was able to download it, but it is a .rar file, so will have to use something like 7zip to open it up. Interesting concept, but I wish I found a way to rekindle the flame! (Sorry if i missed it!)

I am Dog by Craig Cordeiro 2020-04-24T04:04:50Z

I told my dog they were a good dog. Then they died.

LD48 — Deeper and deeper

Deepest Sword by Strega 2021-04-27T06:52:40Z

Awesome game! I found the sword turning on a trackpad to be confusing, but I eventually got it. Super cool mechanic, though it take quite some time to get used to it. Took me an hour to beat it.

LD50 — Delay the inevitable

Ava-launch! by LandoSystems 2022-04-05T03:56:20Z

It's like just the fun parts from Roller Coaster Tycoon, but with snow! The text motion on the main menu was really slick. The sound doesn't work in Safari, but does in chrome -- and it was worth it. Sounded great! Was a bit confused why I ran out of actions. Overall, pretty neat!

The Bedtime Resistance by Joe Cowman 2022-04-05T04:49:39Z

The mother moving in beat to the music was a great touch!

Vanguard Rush by Shawn Beck 2022-04-05T05:43:42Z

Wow this looks really good for a Jam! I did have trouble aiming though, I expected the character to follow the camera more, but instead I was kind of getting pulled around. Fortunately there was lock-on, so that helped a lot, though it seems to aim at their arm not torso. Great work!

Down The Rabbit Hole by KingOfNova 2022-04-05T04:43:34Z

I think I see more of the "You have died" part of the hole than the me playing part. Time to get good I guess.

Legman's Breakout by Spice Cabinet 2022-04-05T05:06:28Z

I love that the "power-ups" are anything but good. Faster? Nah, I'm good thanks. More balls? I'll pass.

Lovers Defence by metatheria 2022-04-05T04:33:24Z

It's really cute! But I can't seem to place any towers down...

Bitboy by Proxy-Games 2022-04-05T04:26:13Z

Ok, so I got "An unexpected WebGL error occurred" after the static falling (spoilers)... but I am still not sure if that is part of the game or not. So, I think you nailed the mood there.

Arena Escape by legosamurai 2022-04-06T01:44:28Z

I won :) Feels like an arcade game! Would be nice to have the controls on the screen. I forgot about the upgrades until re-reading the post after dying a bunch.

Barbar-chicks by kangsoon 2022-04-06T01:53:16Z

High Score: 5. A starter level would have been really useful... but I guess that is the theme.

LD51 — Every 10 seconds

Stellar Sauce by Wheffle 2022-10-09T04:32:15Z

End Screen Nice.

BARRAGE by egawag 2022-10-06T05:03:26Z

Beautiful from start to finish. The swirling core looked really cool, and I loved how it grew in victory. The radial health bar was a good touch, but I did find that it obscured the indicator the for the next wave.

I particularly loved collecting resources. The strike coming in was fast with just the right ease out, and when collecting from a pile the collection expands to nearby shards creating a cascade of light and sound! I though the hollow, geode like sound was perfect.

Really tight gameplay loop, and was just as close to winning as losing up until the end!

LASER BEAM! by Pietrek 2022-10-13T06:27:24Z

Not sure if 5400 is good for a first try; but it feels like better than my second would be! Making the player slow really changes the tone as compared to our game and @skel3ton's. Makes it feel much more deliberate; and one where mistakes compound very quickly. I do wish that the player was a tiny bit faster than the enemies so that we can line up a shot with some cover. I also agree that the charging sound was spot on. Although I wish I had a visual indicator too, the audio was plenty of information for me.

Stuck gun by mira 2022-10-13T06:18:53Z

It's our game too!

Screen Shot 2022-10-12 at 11.16.06 PM.png

Really neat! I think the components spread across the map was a good way to get me to move around with purpose. The cut scenes were a nice bit of polish and world building.

Forkin Around by FastAndBlast 2022-10-04T06:41:52Z

The macOS binary isn't set to be executable (its a Unity build bug).

For macOS users: `chmod +x /Users/$USER/Downloads/MacOS.app/Contents/MacOS/ForkMeat`, and like usual, right click open the binary twice (accepting the prompt).

Cool game! Reminiscent to a game we made a few Jams ago, so I have to like it! I thought it was cool that the boxes didn't really match the job demands, so you had to make little stacks to make up for the slack.

At least on my machine (MBP M1) the perf wasn't the best, and the forklift felt a bit jerky; not sure if that was intended. In the future, it would be great to have a resolution option so that folks like me can actually set the resolution to 1080p (or lower).

SENSATIONS by etrealjunior 2022-10-07T04:24:26Z

That second platform was giving Cuphead vibes.

Bots, Bots, Bots by Link270 2022-10-10T03:40:00Z

A lot of fun, though I do think having to clean the bots every 10 seconds got in the way of understanding where to go in the progression. Also, it was a bit weird that brand new bots needed to be cleaned.

Stoked by Alexzoin 2022-10-05T06:32:52Z

Lovely art style, really felt like the minimal but polished forms, colors, and sounds worked really well together! I especially thought that the stoking sound felt right!

I did have trouble initially running the game because the default size of the unity player was taller than my browser window full screened (on a 16:9 monitor), so the bottom of the screen was cut off so I didn't see the store, perhaps making that more prominent would help.

Also, I don't really know what the seekers do, and they hurt the flame :(. That's what killed me, a flame that needed a click every 0-ish seconds.

Fun!

Wanderhythm by zhelding 2022-10-07T04:31:55Z

Taiko vibes! Music and art were great, though I did feel like it wasn't picking my key presses sometimes. Really wanted to have a note glide for the sax part at the end!

Ten Secs To Pack! by SpacelionJoe 2022-10-04T06:59:31Z

Fun game! I really liked the articulating skeleton and the phone/text pair; would have loved to seem more like that! I had to restart the first time I played because I accidentally threw the box across the room, and could not get it sit upright again, good thing the conveyer doesn't care.

For macOS users, the binary is not marked executable (common Unity bug) here's how to fix it if you haven't seen it before: `chmod +x /Users/$USER/Downloads/10\ Seconds\ to\ Pack.app/Contents/MacOS/10SECSTOPACK` And right click open twice, accepting the prompts.

SpaceRuin by MegaFuze 2022-10-04T05:57:11Z

Invalid code signature on macOS :(

LD53 — Delivery

Trebuchet Post by zgragselus 2023-05-07T02:36:36Z

While playing the second level I really wished that the ground was not white as it was blowing out the HDRP, so when the third level was green I was very happy. Seemed like those levels should have been in the other order. Maybe its just me, but I found that sending a package over a tree was harder than all the other ones.

Would be kind of interesting to make it kind of a mini-golf game where you have to shoot it from where it landed and you can only damage the package so much.

SpaceEx: Interstellar by tangiblegames 2023-05-07T06:45:06Z

Loaded it up my Playdate and it felt right at home!

I do wish that I had a way to punch through the asteroid maze that killed my perfume delivery before I even left. Maybe I would have been better for you to "lose" when you hit zero, so you don't have to deliver a broken package for $0. I wasn't sure what to do with money, so maybe it doesn't matter...

Art was great! The animations into the station were great. And I really liked the UI, especially the little pips when picking the contract and how it on the border.

Deliverey 2 (VR Only) by shadowbrain 2023-05-07T23:01:52Z

Neat game! I feel like a "goal" for each package would help me learn what I was supposed to be doing faster. The graphics were great and ran well on my computer for the Valve Index.

I don't know if other have hit this, but the menu was hit and miss for me (I missed a lot.) I wish there was a controller button or in world big red button to make the menu shoot me a new box to attempt to start the game. It was a very frustrating way to start the game unfortunately (I did not help that my VR setup had some issues tracking in the beginning too)

I liked that the box vs. dog vs. bowling ball had different masses and so you had to hit them differently. Though I couldn't aim well for any of them... it was cool!

I think the game might be more fun and easier to learn if it was a fixed route on a fixed time instead of lives. Originally I thought the goal was to damage the packages as much as possible (given the Mail Bat and Box damage). Then I thought the goal was to punt them into the other truck, but I wasn't able to land the shot... but I got $10 for landing on a yard, so I learned.

Goblin Trail by tukisboolukis 2023-05-07T21:24:48Z

Neat game! I found it really hard for some reason. I think it was because I had to keep catching the stuff that fell of the cart, then kill the goblins because I could never seem to get them before attacking the cart. It felt like this was due to a deliberate delay in how the passengers shoot. I would have expected to shoot nearly instantly, but then have to wait. Or I thought maybe it was that I need to hold and then shoot, but that wasn't it either.

I agree with @francis that picking up the gold didn't feel right. Maybe this was more of a problem since I was playing fullscreen?

The inventory system was cool, but took a second to understand. I liked how different things had different stats and you got to decide what to take.

T.E.M.P.S (The Enchanted Multitasking Potion Shop) by salyon 2023-05-08T00:31:09Z

Screenshot 2023-05-07 172004 2.png

Didn't know I was going to play a life simulator

Really loved the art, the seeming simplicity of the games, and how the complexity builds over the game. It took a few tries but I got it. I think it was really clever to make simpler games that compound than making a more complex game. Something to think about in the future.

The art direction and execution was just amazing. I really liked the "cut out" visuals, and how the car squished and stretched in the lane to make it feel like it was moving. Great stuff!

Galactic Traffic Controller by Amatwiedle 2023-05-06T01:25:26Z

The ship callouts were cool.

I agree with the other folks that it was hard to know what to do at first. I'm not sure if this is a bug, but I could only ever dock large ships. Even though all three of the medium docks were empty and there was a medium ship on the arrival/incoming screen.

Pizza Survivors by Johnny Turbo 2023-05-09T05:46:49Z

Screenshot 2023-05-08 223927.png Fun!

Gotta say, why spend coins on anything other than the masterful Cheese Whip. At level four I think you can survive anything. And I was kind of thinking at :30s left "wow this was actually kind of easy" and then wham. nice, Mr. Cheese saved me though I was able to make an opening.

One of the the thing that makes the axes useful in VS is that they fall back down, so even if they go off in a wild direction, at least they are going to be going vaguely downward so you can line up a shot. Like @carkh said, it didn't feel like it ever hit anything. I'm sure it did, but spending my first point in the game on it made me loose once there were enemies all around me.

Electron Odyssey by Ziamor 2023-05-02T03:41:12Z

I wish real diodes had arrows on them too! Cool Idea! I would have like to see more horizontal thinking; for example imagine there was a transistor that allowed another electron to go through the blub. Or and that electron activated another transistor for you to go through.

There is a monkey here! by yellow 2023-05-07T02:18:56Z

Feels like a good game for the Playdate too; though I would request lives...

Mercenary Pigeon by Ty Victorson 2023-05-08T00:47:18Z

Uh, why does it feel like both sides of this conflict don't like the messenger (bird)?

Really cool environment, Michael Bay would be proud. I even thought I saw a bird with a gun!

The Curse of Sentience as a Delivery Box by vfewa 2023-05-04T03:41:23Z

Neat! The intro was really good and cinematic. Lots of Stanley Parable vibes.

Canine Courier by bened 2023-05-02T19:44:07Z

I found the yellow destination, and got a "you did it" sound, but nothing happened. Is that expected?

Pizza Delivery by Codexzier 2023-05-02T19:39:38Z

Cute game! I had the same issue as @adele-illustration where I didn't see the different types of pizza, but it didn't seem to affect me as I was trying to get to everywhere as fast as possible. Perhaps a way to make that matter more would be to have a random patience score, and/or have cities request more than one pie so you could deliver one on time but not the other.

Also, the web player cuts off the UI at the top and unity player at the bottom in the LD web player. So I was missing the op UI that showed what pizzas I had.

Top score of 56, not sure if that is good...

Pizza Dash by kdx 2023-05-07T02:56:34Z

Really cool platformer. Way too hard for me though :frowning:. I think part of it is that the character does feel slippery to me too, but the ample retries and frequent checkpoints helped a lot. I think what might have helped is if at every turn there weren't spikes, like at least in the beginning.

The art and music are fantastic!

Guns and Toads: Battle for delivery by GeoBlackrU 2023-05-05T04:52:59Z

Screenshot 2023-05-04 214252.png I'm invincible.

The Vampire Survivor side of the game really compelling; feels fast and overwhelming in a really satisfying way. The issue then is how that gameplay fits into the delivery side of the game. I feel like there isn't enough interaction there. I like how y'all used de-buffs as a way to encourage players to deliver the package, but another option was to just not pick them up. Ironically, I think a smaller more confined map would have helped here, one with choke points between the delivery points, and somehow put pressure to deliver it. Perhaps remove coins and just allow you to pick an upgrade on delivery; e.g. allow me to accept a de-buff for a while and then get a large reward for it. Also, perhaps, let me pick the de-buff, so that I can at least know what is happening... (I didn't know what a few of them did)

The Skeleton Delivery Experience by Exilon 2023-05-05T04:33:51Z

This game sucks. 5/5

Rock Paper Scissors Inc. by Weston Goggins 2023-05-02T06:40:32Z

Lot't of fun! Lots of puzzles had an "a ha" moment where it clicked, very satisfying. Though I did find the pressure pad's extra behavior hard to discover; and the ones later on with symbols did not do what I expected. Though it made sense once I learned!

Vanslaughter Inc: Extreme Parcel Service by Alec Cunningham 2023-05-09T05:55:49Z

The van flipped over, but now worries. I can still run people over. That face at the beginning is terrifying. I hate it.

Porch Pirate Panic by Stevie257 2023-05-04T04:07:20Z

Really like how you leaned into the retro theme, I think it worked really well here. (I noticed the bit crusher in the music, nice touch.) I wish the shop didn't close when I bought a gun and hadn't healed yet... I liked how tense the reloads were with the Chain gun, not the best gun it the game it seems!

You're Doing Crate by armannobari 2023-05-08T01:51:36Z

Not sure if there is an ending, but got to 5000 before stopping.Screenshot 2023-05-07 184358.png

Lot of fun, though I think the ships come in a bit too slow, perhaps 25s instead of 30s. I had enough time in between ships that I could pre-emptively place cargo at the spots (and sometimes it would accept it?) I'm not sure if this was intentional, but one of the hardest things was that the "E" key is both pick up and release. It made it harder to swap out what was on the buggy, but not in a way that was satisfying (if that makes sense).

SendNood.exe by Azzriell 2023-05-07T22:03:04Z

- Oui

I wish that the camera showed the upcoming threats a bit sooner as I often felt like I didn't know what was coming until it was too late. Perhaps a skill issue on my part.

Justice Delivery by Gurtek 2023-05-09T05:29:53Z

I won, but only because the boss spawned directly under me. Still get to say I won though!

I think what would help here is some progression, where you could teach the player how to lightsaber, what the things are, and how to grapple. I found myself dying when I was trying to learn one mechanic; or just falling (not to my death, just falling, forever.... and ever....)

DETOUR by Nozomu57 2023-05-07T21:47:35Z

Wow! Super satisfying. Super polished! I really liked level 10 in particular where it was like "so you got the box now..." now what. I really liked how your past decisions to get the box influenced if you could then deliver it.

Out of curiosity, was the original idea that you were going to deliver power? and then that changed to delivering packages?

DETOUR by Nozomu57 2023-05-07T23:08:39Z

@nozomu57 Neat! It's cool how you were able to be inspired by your past work. For our game this year, we had to actively avoid making games we've made before! Your screenshot looks like it would be a fun game, but I can see how it would have been hard to continue iterating. Part of me sees the potential of kind of inverted breakout game where some particles are absorbed, reflected, and hurt you. Thanks for sharing!

Reckless Deliverer by OlekSUNder 2023-05-06T03:02:17Z

Like my C+ in College Physics, I am proud of my high score of 50 points.

I feel like every time I aimed I crashed into something. I had to hold a diagonal wa or wd to even kind of see the green targets. Cool idea and once I got the hang of it fun, but took running in a mailbox 4 times before i even got on the road.

Apocalyptic Pizza by hatheus 2023-05-04T03:51:19Z

Funny concept, and the art direction is really good. But, I feel like the camera not following the car makes the game harder in a way that isn't fun. I feel like the game is wanting me to quickly whip around the city killing all the zombies in my way, but often I miss my turn and get pinned to a building by a zombie :(

Apocalyptic Pizza by hatheus 2023-05-04T04:13:36Z

I think outside of the car loosely trailing the car so that it isn't nauseating. NFS-like would be what I personally would want, but that might not actually be best for the feeling you wanted to make. Inside the car could show the gruesome details of your zombie slaughter (if you made the practical systems make rigid bodies that stick to the car/road. But that would also be gross... I think having the camera behind could have let you go faster and still see the pretty city.

Apocalyptic Pizza by hatheus 2023-05-04T05:31:45Z

Yeah! Something like that!

Parcel Trouble by DominikaM33 2023-05-07T22:21:05Z

@dominikam33 (And those playing at home) You can make a HTML Web build with https://schellingb.github.io/LoveWebBuilder/package and then open the generated website. @dominikam33 you should be able to upload that zip to itch.io directly so folks can play your game more easily. (I didn't even know LÖVE was a thing)

As for the game, I couldn't figure out what the pattern was for which packages wanted to be placed next to each other. Like others have said, the packages look great though!

LD54 — Limited Space

Ex Automata by ping78 2023-10-07T19:23:59Z

I somehow got to nearly 2k points. And I still don't understand . Really liked the art direction and animations. With more info, I could see how this could be a optimize everything, nail-biting puzzle. However, since I didn't have that info, I didn't really feel like my space was limited, since stuff was just happening; if that makes sense.

Park King by BoxedMeatRevolution 2023-10-05T01:31:18Z

Great level design. Just the right level of frustrating and fun!

Everything Must Go by Rohun 2023-10-06T01:24:15Z

Screenshot 2023-10-05 181508.png Amazing! At the end I was so good, I sold more deodorant than I had!

Face the Dice by Bastienre4 2023-10-07T22:41:24Z

This was awesome! Really liked the interplay between the special / action sides, and the fact that you can target the other player. Made for some tense moments where I re-rolled a opponents die only to have it be worse for me; and visa versa. I could see myself coming back to play it with some small sound effects added for rolling and some of the actions. Really liked the 3d dice rolling. I also thought the malicious sides were inspired, especially since you can't build over them anymore. Great job!

Driller Instinct by MaximeG 2023-10-08T18:13:17Z

Destructive terrain in a JAM? Crazy. Cool take on the theme!

On The Edge by mhorth 2023-10-05T01:39:27Z

Are there multiple ways to escape? I only had to solve one puzzle / minigame and the power was never restored or anything like that. Did I miss something? I agree that it was too dark for me, I had to rely heavily on the text.

Unlimited MACE by Yoss III 2023-10-08T22:11:39Z

Fun game! The feeling of the mace lining up and plowing through a hundred cars is great. Music is touch in your mace for my maces. I would love to know the deep lore reason why a person on their racing bike is getting attached by hoards of cars, and defending themselves with a elephant sized mace.

Space Knight by darzu 2023-10-07T18:59:04Z

Screenshot 2023-10-07 115531.png Died once trying to figure out what to do... but it was fun learning the space physics and going fast to collect the things. Would have been nice to just be able to slam into them to collect, as using a sword attack a bit slow feeling... but fun!

LD55 — Summoning

Summon Auto Pets by Wicked 2024-04-28T03:19:18Z

Screenshot 2024-04-27 201856.png

Cool idea! Took a sec to realize that the items had levels. Not sure if there was scaling for a full fire/grass/water build, but that seemed to work. It felt like I should have lost the game when I ran out of summons on the field, but I was able to keep playing all the way up to lv. 300. p.s. this would have been a great entry for LD54 "Limited Space".

Summon Inc. by laulau 2024-04-23T02:20:57Z

Spoopy! I had no idea what I was doing, but I seemed to get all them right. Or did I.... The music was very good and established the mood very quickly. The lighting affects also worked very well with the off-kilter graphics. I had no idea what the other section was that sometimes had junk and the word summon to remind me that you know what the theme was  (I think every game I've played has) Great entry! (Thanks for rating my game too!)

Ethereal Tower by Zliebowitz 2024-04-21T00:12:44Z

Nice game! Beat all the levels, though the last two I had to play twice. I think they were balanced well, especially once you get Wind. I like the trade off between collecting money or placing another tower down; though I with I could pick up the money by clicking a dragging to make it slightly faster.

A Clash of Horns by fabula_rasa 2024-04-18T03:32:26Z

Nice game! Felt very polished with all the text effects and art. I do wish that there was a cursor or something to help me follow along with the opponent as I felt confused for the first few turns, and a description of the units once they are placed would be helpful. Good job!

Duel of the Summoners by Jona Scheidig 2024-04-26T00:35:30Z

I hope y'all don't give up after this jam. It looks and sounds great, and there are a few micro interactions that are really polished. Like how when selecting a card the others go away for a little bit confirming the one you picked, and then animating. And how when summoning a critter they have different sounds. But I think it might be good to reflect on what went well, and what didn't. I know a trap that we run into in our games is knowing where to spend our time, and it can be easy to over invest in one area or another. Hope it was still a fun experience!

My Occult Therapist by Julien-Lenormand-Kaizen 2024-04-20T01:37:08Z

Cool game! I found it really hard to go to the next demon because I think the button is hidden for my monitor's aspect ratio and in the WebGL version. (That or the button is really well hidden)

Zodiac Legends by Brennan 2024-04-20T23:21:19Z

Nice twist on war. I like the addition of summons here as they give me agency to improve my deck, but I don't feel like there we plusses and minuses to the summons like I would expect. e.g. Why wouldn't I take 100% more energy on losses? Perhaps a passive doubles the value of all cards, but halves your deck too. (I assumed that the colors of cards were like elementals with strengths and weaknesses, but that didn't seem to have an impact (perhaps I too busy winning to notice  )

Really fun! Got some nostalgia from the jump precision challenge, real GBA vibes for me. Music and art was great, and I really liked the progression of levels. The shift from platformer to physics puzzles was an interesting twist. Though I was a touch frustrating to be one shot killed by the flying bugs... at least it resets quickly. Nice entry!

The Grand Summoner ... of Lifts by Arti Dev 2024-04-20T22:56:08Z

I had a good time playing your game! I really liked how the complexity and franticness built over time depending on your upgrade choices. I do with there were keyboard shortcuts, that would make the game easier for me (trackpad user). But that is also a balance thing, since you wouldn't have to stop pounding the button to initiate an upgrade, so I get it.

Screenshot 2024-04-20 at 3.50.55 PM.png

Not the high score, I know, but I still had fun. Cool entry!

The Dispatcher by TWTwoFace 2024-04-29T00:49:00Z

Neat take on the team, it was refreshing to not be in a dungeon with demons! I played the game a few times, the first time I played I didn't know what buttons I was supposed to be pressing. Since I was always getting a exclamation mark triangle i thought I kept getting the same scenario, but it would be correct sometimes and wrong most times. Frustrating! But coming back here I found that you can pan the camera, but you should mention you can zoom too! Zooming in let me see that there is actually stuff under the symbol. But it quickly gets covered up by the alert, so it would be better I think if the alert button either goes away, moves out of the way, or at least goes to 50% opacity. Then I think I could feel like the speed dispatcher you want me to feel like. The zooming does feel a bit jank though, unity is bad at scrolling IMO. I like the title screen, reminds me of games of yore, but it isn't discoverable since they are too well integrated into the scene. Also, congrats on doing a traffic sim for a Jam! (Our first Jam game tried it, at it didn't go well...) Good job!

Brew Mages by BumBum 2024-04-30T05:54:19Z

Feel like a APM of the AI should be slower as it seems impossible to both summon and direct troops as fast as it can. And with the way damage is calculated, it feels like APM is the most important thing here. Maybe it was supposed to feel like that, but to me it felt like I needed to get lucky with the path traversal.

Came here because of all of you in your matching wizard robes left a comment on [The Dispatcher](https://ldjam.com/events/ludum-dare/55/the-dispatcher). Really cute touch!

Really neat puzzle game. I thought it was going to be about moving your dudes around, but turned out to be really challenging (at least for me). The difficulty spike going from the tutorial levels to the real levels was severe since it there weren't many "You only get one" levels in between. Also, the water and ice looking very similar, but being delt with by both ice and fire was very confusing to me in the first real level. (And also how the spells can't cross the chasm was unexpected)

Really nice entry!

Forge Lord by Hazard Game Dev 2024-04-18T01:37:22Z

Summoning was super satisfying! I felt like it was a bit to easy to get killed when one of the three minions didn't attack something, and then there is nothing to do.

That was really cute! I really like the art style with selective color, and how clear it made what you can do. The turrets felt really impactful and scary, the interplay of the multiple mechanics was really good. Nice entry!

Sacrificed by Klemmbaustein 2024-04-28T21:37:04Z

Perhaps more of a comment on the engine than the game... but it felt really performant. Very little input latency, and somehow there was an even faster option! Nice entry!

Dice of Fates by qui 2025-04-13T06:18:13Z

Very interesting game, there's a lot going on and didn't get it at first. Hovering the eye gave me a lot of text, but I still didn't know what to do...

I don't know why in hindsight, but the __roll button__ didn't look clickable to me; maybe because it isn't next to the dice. And the right hand jewel drawer thing is __clickable sidebar__. I think the arrows from the eye help not pointing or highlighting what is clickable made me miss that.

Once I got going though it was fun, though a bit random. I found it challenging to know which word (nay, profession) I should be trying to spell with the dice. And I don't think I'm a fan of randomly loosing a rolled dice; I think I should have to pick.

I really liked the art and the noise shader, though the pixelation on the locked professions doesn't seem to fit in with the other style.

TrashDash by JPiolho 2025-04-13T00:29:12Z

Nice! The into was really well done. For some reason I originally thought I was supposed to collect all the trash... but second time got to 1.1km. Not sure if there is a bottom... Would love to see some added mechanics after a bit, like power ups I can trigger e.g. clear the screen. But the ones you had were good!

What Lurks Below by dxk2294 2025-04-08T04:45:08Z

@dzr118 Yep! You can automate the clicking (and more  ) by scrolling down and unlocking the first level. Once you have people, you can assign them to mine *substance* or collect it.

Plundersea by Hugimugi7 2025-04-23T06:07:43Z

Great entry! I found the game quite challenging due to what I assume is just bad luck. Clicking on a board with no hints and hitting a mine was quite common for me, and doesn't feel good. Similarly, being forced to click in a blue area with no hints and getting a mine isn't fun either. Relatedly, getting a 1 in the middle of nowhere gives no info about where the mine is, so again, lots of lost lives. I'm sure this is really hard, but it would be good for the first click to always give enough info to not hit a mine (if paying attention). I was only able to make it to level four, and again got a string of (what I would consider not my fault) mines. Ugh. Great entry otherwise though, the high quality everywhere else makes this feeling stand out, if that makes sense. :pensive:

I really enjoyed it. Though I may have learned I would not make a good captain... suffice it to say the score summary should show diver deaths :skull_crossbones: . I liked the day/night system and how that put added pressure at the end. One issue I had is that I added too many rudders and it became too responsive... but in a fun way I guess.

See the Light by DeadByDeath 2025-04-12T06:54:38Z

Super chill! Just what I needed. I thought the gold fish were just like coins, and that it was a high score kind of game... ugh. But once I saw the light, it all made sense. I do wish the upward movement was a bit more telegraphed because it sometimes felt a little floaty, but I think that was the camera trying to tell me I was going down, but without texture in the background is can be hard to tell. Otherwise it think ti was great!

I love the art style, and the simple but goofy arm bending. Bags really are like that sometimes. I love how soft and smooth and cute everything feels. Simple but polished gameplay. Unique take on the theme. Good puzzle progression, though I was hoping the last one would be trick questions... Great entry!

Onerous Orbits by Ian McD 2025-04-15T04:35:37Z

The sounds that plays when the satellite leaves the play area is super familiar... but can't place it. Great game. Really liked the pseudo programming aspect. The line changing colors to match the commands was a good touch. Would be nice to get leaderboards for fewest commands, least fuel, and shortest duration. Would be really cool to have to control multiple ships and have them dock / or miss each other. + moving obstacles etc. Nice entry!

Cool take on the team! I like the style, made it level three but I wasn't able to sense which folder was the scariest fast enough. I wish wrong folders didn't penalize, or didn't navigate in because I felt like guess and check was the only option. Perhaps there is a pattern I couldn't decipher.

Souls Rider 1D by deformhead 2025-04-12T02:17:28Z

If any game needed a Linux build... :wrench:

I really enjoyed the early Mac System styling, crazy to think windowing really did work like that for a bit. I like that it wasn't really a puzzle, more just like ugh oh I need to do that now!? The "close windows" was a cleaver way to prevent guess and check, and also to add to the old system vibe.

Got the end, and it was super satisfying.

I played on macOS, and it didn't work on first try (very normal for Jams  ) here's how I got it to work, in case it helps others: - Download the zip from google, and Safari should open it by default. - Drag the folder onto terminal, or into terminal to cd to it. - Make the binary executable; `chmod +x ~/Downloads/KnightsFromInsideMyWallsMac/KnightsFromInsideMyWalls.app/Contents/MacOS/KnightsFromInsideMyWalls` - Then, in Finder, right-click open the file. It will warn you the developer is untrusted; that is because the app wasn't notarized by Apple. - Open System Preferences -> Privacy & Security -> KnightsFromInsideMyWalls.app -> Open Anyway - TouchID/Password then it should open!

Break Down! by hulien22 2025-04-12T02:02:26Z

This game is great! Took me a little while to notice that you had to touch the ball to get the resources; but I was still having fun anyway. I really liked all the polish like the color trail after a ball that matches what it has, and the little poof animation when a block goes away, or the trail from the the ship. I played for like 20m, but eventually got stuck in geometry and the game crashed when I tried to spawn a ball outside the window. But really fun! I plan on coming back and trying to get the bottom (if there is one). Great entry!

Nice! Really liked the column to column story telling. I got a bit confused at the end because it didn't look like I should go right to win. I assumed there was a cell I needed to be in; e.g. a win cell. I liked the idea of encounters, but they seemed bad so I avoided them. Perhaps encounters should be mostly good-ish but maybe really bad. (perhaps I just got unlucky too).

Pandora's Return by googlypoo 2025-04-12T06:38:06Z

Screenshot 2025-04-12 at 7.01.09 PM.png

Nice ending cinematic... woof.

I found the idea of a rouge like without upgrades or items interesting, it focused the game differently than how I would normally play. Normally I would kill everything and search everywhere, but this game it is advantageous to get to the stairs and move on. That made for some tense "do I risk it" moments.

The "eye" enemies (both red and purple) seem to have broken hit boxes. Many times my fireball passed right through them. It made them harder than I think they should have been. By my estimation, it seems the collider only covers the bottom half of them. Still fun though!

Cool idea! I really liked how I had to look at the world differently and consider if the obvious thing was right. I'm not a great platformer, so when I got to the "Steal the Sun" level it was just too hard for me. :frowning: It looks maybe the web version was updated, but not the downloadable version? I had the same issue as @anorphie where I didn't know you had to hold the e button, it would be worth updating the controls to indicate that! I really enjoyed it!

I did find the jump affected by weight unexpected as the text describing that is high up in the level... but once I found that out it all made sense. Lots of fun!

Overemployed Empire by JOrbits 2025-10-12T16:28:34Z

Sure does feel like this sometimes. I think the upgrade system worked very well as it let me control the complexity and build my economy. I was never fired from a job as a result. I like how the minimal murmur sound builds into a crowd sound. The Windows NT inspired setting felt right too; the small simple windows let me tile the calls and keep track of them. I also appreciated how calls close to timing out jump to the front! Saved me a few times. Great job!

Wasn't sure if I needed to play the original first... so played that. Sure hope legally distinct Lil' Jones is able to get away from that boulder and reunite with his son?

I liked the idea of picking up items and putting them into the box, but it seems to me like there should have been a cost to missing one or a reason to not pick one up (other than it not fitting). I got to level 6, but it seems like other than the grid getting bigger there isn't an increase in difficulty (unless I am missing something!)

Good entry, looking forward to the third installment!

Squish ! by Starlex3000 2025-10-23T03:51:31Z

Although I did find the you know how to play games tutorial non-tutorial tutorial funny, it didn't do a great job helping me learn the mechanics of the game. On my first play through i grabbed the pink one and took it on a walk from one side to the other. -- I didn't know you could put it down. So on my second i knew i did something wrong. Got the yellow one like @hacksawunit but also didn't know what to from there. The tutorial said the yellow one could make things, but how? Is it a place, a key, an action, just time? I learned the pink one homes to the pink basket, but what does that mean? I can see from others screenshots that there is more to the game, but I haven't been able to access it :sob:. I like the idea and art style, I just didn't know how to play.

Great job on making it feel cohesive. I really nails the original monochrome GameBoy vibe. I did die a lot to the spikes though... but I'm terrible at platforming.

Screenshot 2025-10-07 at 4.30.57 PM.png

The music was jammin', art was adorable, the bugs were zaggin'. It's great.

My one frustration, was that when my catch overlapped multiple things it didn't get both. I'd expect that if it were to only get one it would get the unknown then , highest scoring, then bomb. Part of my frustration came from the bomb bugs being very good at their job, and zagging randomly into an already clicked safe area.

Excellent entry.

Edit: High score was 350; slowing down is a good way to get a higher score

Got all but Bone APPéTiT... tried to brute force it but to no avail...alas it is still unknow to me. The art is great and it was fun flinging the ingredients into the pot. Nice polish. I agree with others that it would be nice for the ingredients to at least be discoverable, especially since there are 18 recipes out of 720 possible combinations. The art for each was very good, though the results felt inconsistent. e.g. bone doesn't always equal bread. (as far as I can tell..). I was really trying to win, but had to give up when brute force didn't seem to find it. Great entry. (Played for 20+ min...)

The Witch Chef by dumchevdev 2025-10-11T07:56:46Z

Hey, had the game in another tab and refreshed it to see if others had the same issue I had. Looks like a bunch of changes were made to fix some of the issues. e.g. changing some art, changing some descriptions, adding the ??? etc. It's way easier now; and I think better for it. And I was finally able to make my delicious Bone APPéTiT.

Screenshot 2025-10-11 at 12.50.30 AM.png

Given the size of the changes, I think it would be good to make a change log either here or on the itch.io page; or have the original Jam submission available. Good work, glad I was able to finish it.

Screenshot 2025-10-13 185618.png

The "tutorial" a little daunting being 260 lines long; but was very helpful in the beginning. As someone at home at a terminal, it was very unintuitive to me to drag and drop items from the black board. (I think little grabber handle pixels would have helped). The interstitial pixel art was great! It was fun once I get the hang of it, but I also felt that later levels were just easier as each command was used once and the there weren't many red herrings. Cool take on the theme, and again, sure hope we are the bad guys.......

I found that items often didn't fit where I thought they would, it would have been helpful to have an outline for both what is already in the box and what is being dropped in. Similarly it seems like the best move is to try to fit almost everything in the bin; it would be interesting to have way more items than what can fit in the bin, and have to remove items.

As a heads up, another issue I noticed was that there isn't a progress bar or logo or anything while the game is loading on itch.io; it looked broken. I saw your zoom comment and thought that was it, but when I went back it had loaded.

I found the f-key mechanic critical to my strategy.

Boy howdy did I drink from the dubious well, open the chest, and drink the questionable potion. Eventually was making 9 billion point attacks. Not sure if there was an end, but eventually the game just gave me a battle with nobody there, so calling that a win.

I noticed that others have similar scaling issues to me. I'd suggest looking into the [Scale With Screen Size](https://docs.unity3d.com/2018.4/Documentation/Manual/script-CanvasScaler.html) option on the Unity Canvas, it will let you set a target resolution so that the game looks like what you intended for most resolutions and aspect ratios.

I doubt it's a good score since I wasn't able to collect many of the official constellations, but I was able to make some cool new ones  Screenshot 2025-10-11 223919.png

Really like the chill vibe. A very unique take on the theme! I like it a lot!
